"If you can/when you can/where possible" is whats important. Those choices tend to require an amount of resources, be it energy or time or mobility or money.
As a poor, disabled fat person I have very little I can do, my options are super limited to begin with. And I dont know if my experience is closer or further from the norm, but when I read this what I hear is "push yourself beyond reason to make a miniscule difference to the world and significantly worsen your own quality of life. You did not build these systems and would abstain if that was possible, but its not, so you must do penance for existing through the suffering of others". People say "if you can/when you can of course" but then post mocking tirades about people buying fast fashion as if everyone can go shopping in boutiques and through expensive labelled-as-ethical brands and its just sheer laziness that all my shirts I buy about twice a year each cost under $15, why arent I spending $200 each in sizes I cant wear thats made from super sustainable materials woven in sweatshops with tiny details added by well-paid workers so they can claim none of it was made in sweatshops.
Like. Idk. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism but I dont believe we need to all ritually commit suicide or torture ourselves constantly to make up for benefiting from the exploitation of others. In general we need to all try move to slower fashion I fully agree in principle, I would like if the ripple effects of what I need to survive involved zero exploitation. But Im also in the exploitation machine. Im also struggling to survive.
The guilt of average people isnt going to break the system. Peoppe should not be shamed for how they meet their survival needs.
Maybe you do mean well, I will extend you that benefit of the doubt. This isnt personal. Im just so tired of feeling like Im being judged as a terrible person for trying to survive in this fucked up economic system that I cannot extricate myself or anyone else from. The only way to do what seems to be most ethical is to have resources, and whatever resources you have are exactly what.someone else doesnt. But mostly its the few holding everything wstching us fight for their smusement or not even noticing our existence at all brcause we are just the pitiful ones. And no I cant do anything about that.

summary: you have a crush on lee minho..the guy who doesnt even know you exits. and one day, your weird teacher blessed you with you being in the same group as lee know..
the bell rang loudly, signaling the start of another day in your college. as you walked into the classroom, you could feel the usual rush of nerves and excitement. you had been trying to keep your head down and focus on your studies, but there was one thing that was always on your mind—minho.
lee minho, the guy who always seemed to glide through the hallways with his mischievous smile and effortless charm. you’d always notice him, but there was no reason for him to even know your name. you were just another face in the crowd.
that was until your teacher, Mr. J. Y. Park, announced the new project assignment.
"alright, everyone," he said, eyes scanning the class. "we’re going to do group projects for the next few weeks. i’ll be assigning partners randomly."
your heart pounded in your chest. group projects were always awkward, especially when you were paired with someone you didn’t know well. but you never expected to hear the name "lee minho" called alongside yours.
" group 2 with felix, Y/N, minho and chan. " the teacher said.
you stared at the teacher for a moment. minho? THE minho? the guy who took over your mind, even tho THE minho does not know about your existence? your stomach flipped as a wave of panic washed over you. you were never the type to engage with someone like him. you knew he was out of your league.
but there was no way to escape this.
when the class ended, you made your way to the designated meeting spot, that one of minhos friends told you to go to—the campus coffee shop. you arrived early, hoping to just blend into the background and let the others do the talking.
then when minho walked in, your heart started to have a race. he walked towards the table with a casual smile, high fiving his two friends and giving you a polite nod as he sat down.
“hey,” he greeted, his voice low but friendly. “you’re Y/N, right?”
you nodded nervously, feeling your cheeks heat up. “y-yeeeeah! you know my name?. ah- I mean.. nice to meet you.!”
what was that.? you made such a traumatized face expressions.. you tried to act all cool and unbothered, but made yourself sound like a fool.
felix giggled. by his eyes you could tell that it was not in a bad way… and minho. he smiled, his expression warm and approachable. “ofcourse I know your name- afterall we are in the same class.. nice to meet you too tho.”
you laughed nervously, trying to hide your embarrassement. trying to relax and stop to worry.
after a few more minutes of talking, and a few more minutes of you fighting to not stare and admire minhos beauty like a creep, you all got to work. minho quickly took the lead, suggesting stuff and delegating them with ease. he wasn’t bossy, though—just confident, making everyone feel like their ideas mattered. you were surprised by how easy it was to work with him.
throughout the first hour, you found yourself slowly relaxing. the boys made you feel comfortable. not only did you work on the project, but also joked around and had fun! it was truly feeling good being with them three. and minho…you’d catch his gaze a few times.. and when he smiled at you, it wasn’t in a flirty way—it was warm, like he just enjoyed being around you.
as the meeting came to the end, minho looked over at you. “if you ever need help with anything, don’t hesitate to ask. i am pretty good so I can help, if you need it.”
your heart skipped a beat. was he... offering to help you? the minho?
“thanks- I appreciate it,” you said, trying to sound casual, though you could feel your face burning. “i’ll keep that in mind.”
over the next couple of weeks, the project became the reason that got you two a lot closer. minho would send you messages, checking in on the progress, sharing more ideas for the project, and sometimes—just talking. at first, the conversations were about school, but soon, they drifted to more personal topics. you found out that minho is a huge softie for cats.. something you never expected from him. you thought hes way to serious for that. he is also such a talented guy, when it comes to dancing! minho is a lot more interesting than you ever imagined.
he really proofed that he is kind, and a little bit of a nerd when it came to things he loves. the more you got to know him, the more you realized how easy it was to talk to him.
one afternoon, while working on the project in the library, minho looked up from his laptop and met your eyes. for a moment, neither of you said anything. you just stared at each other, making the two other boys feel like they are witnessing some sort of kdrama.
“you’re really easy to talk to,” he said suddenly, breaking the silence. “I feel like we just click.”
your heart skipped. that was random… but minho be a very random guy like that “huh-? I thought I was awkward around you.”
minho chuckled, leaning back in his chair. “nah, you’re fine. I like hanging out with you. plus, you’ve got a good head on your shoulders. I think that’s why the project’s been going so well.”
you smiled shyly, not sure what to say. he had no idea how much those words meant to you. minho is a pretty popular guy in college, always surrounded by people, always the center of attention. yet here he was, complimenting you.
as the project neared its end, the two of you spent more time together, both working and chatting. the distance between you had shrunk from awkward strangers to a very comfortable friendship. you weren’t sure when it had happened, but at some point, you found yourself looking forward to his messages, his smile, the way he made you feel heard and understood.
and when the day of the presentation came, Minho gave you an encouraging smile before you walked to the front of the class.
“you’ve got this,” he said softly. then looking at the other two boys “we’ve got this.”
your nerves settled, and for the first time, you felt like you were standing on equal ground with him. minho wasn’t some unreachable figure anymore. he was a friend.
as the class applauded after your presentation, minho’s eyes met yours, and he gave you that signature smile that always made your heart flutter.
“you did great,” he said with a grin. “we make a pretty good team.”

i never know how to phrase it but something about the way beatles biographers and people in general view paul's reflexive placating persona and determination to smooth things over as manipulative or duplicitous and john's reflexive barbed persona and habit of lashing out as brave and subversive despite both being equally defensive mechanisms to shield themselves from the world that resulted in them saying things that weren't true says more about how we culturally view kindness or friendliness as inherently untrustworthy or flimsy and anger and carelessness as more believable as someone's true nature than it says about either of them in actuality

OK so I was GOING to draw fanart today - I had a fun idea and everything! But health anxiety (and anti-anxiety meds) wore me out so I kinda .... slogged through OCs as a treat to me. I am going to go to the doctor tomorrow so HOPEFULLY it's all okay.

#thinking of the links awakening sequel to alttp post and how games contrast/mirror each other#i cant say totk was super close to it. well maybe it was based on the first trailer but not anymore !#there were moments to be sure (sky island music + the great sky island) but the bulk of it is. Not#it feels less of a sequel to botw and more like a spinoff game. the world is hollow when you see the cracks and the cracks are Everywhere#npcs are wrong the structure is more linear (the great sky island for ex) the replacement of the sheikah with the zonai but it not working#due to the fact that the sheikah are still referenced and its the Same Place where literally all of the events of botw and prior happened#like. it Could In Theory Work but its trying to erase the sheikahs presence entirely which. no!! thats not how that works??#instead of mirroring or parallel and highlighting them Both it tries to scrub one out over the other#the emphasis on a Greater Past- botw focusing on 100 years prior which he and zelda and the champions and. The World have a connection to#vs totk doing more than 10000 years prior which would Seem better at first glance but it informs nothing about hyrule and nothing meaningfu#l was lost. its just a set piece to show rauru and sonias conflict with ganondorf#theres no. Connections. like it doesnt matter to ganondorf hes just oOoOoo evil and it somehow doesnt affect his goals or motives#the sky islands cant imply any context because there Is no context theyre just scattered ruins with no significance#rauru laments about the constructs but Thats It. everything is just there to be cool#especially the old temple of time/the temple of time in the sky. Yeah the mouthwash game is pretty good
#the klock keeps ticking#gonna have to stew on this one a lot and probably go back from the beginning and analyze everything#but uhm. damn it goes so hard#just some things I WAS able to pick up that I wanna highlight#the whole ‘take responsibility’ thing has so many meanings but the way jimmy avoids responsibility for everything thats his fault#and takes responsibility for all the wrong shit like taking on the captain role after the crash and his ‘reckoning’#is him so not getting it at all and taking it upon himself to ‘save’ curly#he really does go ‘i learned my lesson’ while not learning shit its so good god#its so infuriating how it ends and its so good and it hits too hard ugh#i love the way curly is portrayed like he does seem like a nice well intentioned guy and a good leader#but like. everyone except anya is a man. so first off we cant say hed be as well regarded if more women were around#and the way he enables jimmy its too real like. he personally hasnt seen jimmy be that way so oooh#surely he cant be beyond reasoning with surely he just needs someone to talk to#its a very good subtle way of showing complicity cuz curly really isnt ill intentioned but he doesnt grasp the severity#and anya is trapped in this really unsafe position and her other coworkers are a kid and a drunk#also the way she acts around jimmy in his pov where shes like praising him is like#can be interpreted as her being scared of him and trying to stay on his good side#or jimmy being full of himself so his image of her is warped as some damsel fawning over him#and the way curly post crash cant speak or move he can just watch with one eye#and he in a very fucked up sense ‘takes responsibility’ for not putting his foot down with jimmy cuz he watches the guy be a horrible#captain and he literally experiences frequent assault cuz oooghh god the painkillers oof#their dynamic is very well written just the resentment and adoration jimmy feels is so fucked#he wants to be the biggest man he sees curly as the cake at his special party#forces curly to eat his own leg saying ‘someday he’ll thank me’ UGHHH#also the mouthwash itself symbolizes a lot of shit ive not gotten to think about yet but honestly one of the hardest hitting parts of the#game for me is the reveal that the stuff these people were risking their whole lives to ship was just. mouthwash. poor quality too#like stopppp its too real like we’re supposed to devote our lives to capitalism and kill ourselves for it and its literally for something so#so fucking worthless like you put everything into this but you contribute nothing to society#im def hitting the tag limit so ill finish with. curly in the cryo chamber absolutely going to die and the credits rolling#jimmy is so stupid and you know hes kissing his own ass for this and will survive i hate it its very good

A succubus and a demon! (The succubi don't have names but the demon is Kronos and the succubus is one of his bosses in Hell and he's not /fond/ of the succubi for many reasons but they all adore picking on him)
Also because I love them and like to point it out, the succubi act more as pleasure dealers in the sense of they offer up whatever a human wants most in exchange for their soul. It's rarely of a sexual nature since it's what they want MOST in life. And most people's ambitions are outside of a bedroom. (happy pride, asexuals are able to get affected by a succubus now without discrimination)
#my characters#did i make succubi in a plot that i could fall victim to as an asexual personally? yeah#kronos is just a petty lil baby with a younger brother who is very nice for a demon#kronos is responsible for being a dick to everyone in the plot and yet has the weirdest morals and its not fine#but hes gonna make that everyone elses problem not his#for instance he originally goes to earth bc a human has somehow just stolen all of the Devils attention and its annoying#why fixate on one human doomed to Hell just let the guy live and die then fixate#so he goes to kill the human but ends up saving the guy and then agonizes because even as a demon#its REALLY tacky to save someone and then kill them#so he doesnt kill him and instead demands to be a roommate until he returns to hell#and then they team up to kill demons and other creatures that seem obsessed with the human#and so they just kinda kill and banish demons back to hell and its fiiiine kronos is just causing problems for Hell#thats not even a new issue hes always doing that !#and then they meet a siren who refuses to talk and kronos is like oh time to be the biggest dick ever#and is like well if she wont talk and she needs a name i vote halibut#as a mean joke bc why would she want to be named after a fish#and she lights up and is SUPER happy and nods and beams and is so happy with her new name#and then the human is like well she needs more clothes than one outfit right#also shes barefoot and its cold i need to buy her shoes idk what tho#and kronos is like here buy her these rainboots and so the guy buys them and is like just wear these#until you can show me what you want bought ok and halibut is in love with her cute lil yellow rainboots#so basically everything kronos does out of spite to the weird mute siren (by choice) backfires#and she adores him and doesnt know hes trying to be mean to her#anyway the succubi collectively like to pick on the really silly and childish demons they outrank#like kronos! so he is constantly a target for them to mock which is why he isnt fond of them which fuels them more#the succubi are just really chill most of the time though ?#and its just. i love my succubi ok theyre wonderful#and that has been another story time in the tags bye

kh2 au where everythings exactly the same except roxas is hanging around sora chara style. hes not particularly a vengeful spirit but hes not very nice either. also nobody but sora can see him. hijinks ensue.

i think the reason ppl get so uppity about you calling a scam a scam rn is bc they feel so powerless about the situation in i/p that they'll take ANYTHING to feel like they're contributing. they dont want to be the bystanders who have no real sway that they are, they want to be the heroes of the story, and if they dont at least have the scams to rely on for their image, how will everyone know how good of a person they are and praise them for saving the day???????????????
