#ace attorney tag#maybe i should tag this narumitsu or something. but i dont really care.#gearing up to rereading/illustrating bits of my fic i suppose...i think nick really is too dense to realise he's in love with edgeworth#without some scheming fop trying to intrude. i love villains like kristoph..villains can be fun..witnessing their pathetic folly..#or more like edgeworth would never have mentioned his feelings ever in his life if he wasn't sure phoenix reciprocates.#i want to see it this way because Falling in love during childhood with the person you're going to end up with. is not relatable#there have to be Situations that make you Realise.#as with orufrey i adore the idea of people not working out their romance with that person until their 30s+#but... i mean. even with orufrey i often think how alaira could be qifrey's ex. and oru having been pursued by noble fops through his work#there is that delicate sliver of time before orufrey start living together that such believable situations could have happened.#Then the relief of politely and amicably extricating themselves from those untenable situations#the idea of falling in love age 7 and saving your first kiss for age 35 or something is all very well but more relatable is#people realising how they really feel whilst trying something that ends up feeling wrong.#The comfort and joy of living with your dearest one as if it's platonic - much preferable to trying anything more with anyone else.#But i doubt i will ever portray that or mention it further. it is indeed very delicate to me.#and i really am an OTP FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kind of person who can barely bear to consider this anyway...NOT a polyshipper i'm afraid !#so i wouldn't mind either if they do have their first kiss in their lives age 35 with each other either. @vulpixisananimal sifstem art jumpscare!! more specifically i got bored and decided to mess around with sif and mal's outfits.
#my art#this is how I think theyd present themselves either in person or in headspace. the slouchers <3#sifs outfit is simple; the boots i always give them (but with star laces for funsies); loose sweater; simple pants#the pants are Meant to be jeans but isat doesnt Specifically Have Jeans so. theyre just Pants.#the sweater is slightly looser bc sif doesnt seem like a Form Fitting Clothes kinda guy to me but hes Trying to be more open#on particularly good days theyll roll the sleeves up or wear a sleeveless one methinks#even if everyone Knows abt the self-harm scars its hard to Look at them.#i also associate them being more open with them not wearing an eyepatch. esp bc hes the only one of the three to go without it#for mal (or 'ami' as i like to call it) i wanted smth reminiscent of a mourning outfit bc mal du pays means homesickness#and i picked 'ami' as a nickname bc ami means friend :] at least according to my basic translator. i dont speak french <3#ami's outfit being dark is also reminiscent of the inversion thing its got going on in canon.#ik the veil is starred in the original but i think ami would want the fewest reminders of home. on account of The Issues#(actually if i can come back to sifs laces sif also has issues with reminders of it bc of the memory loss but the shoelaces are His Choice—#—which gives them a form of control over it and they can keep it subtle or undo it if he wants. which makes it easier)#anyway. i put amis hair in an updo and smoothed the hat bc i think ami wants to be Unremarkable. Unknown. so it keeps its silhouette Simple#(it still keeps the pins. theres smth comforting abt them. they shine like stars and theyre not stars and theyre not Home. but theyre You.)#and i kept the long hair i gave loop. dont ask me why its so long when the canon hair is short. maybe their hair kept growing over the loop#OH and i drew ami in a side profile bc Silhouette and also bc i think itd make an effort to keep people away from its blind spot#andddd i think thats about it? plus i actually managed to keep this one within a reasonable timeframe.#if their hair changes lengths/the proportions change between drawings. no they dont 💛 peace and love and body craft#OH AND YOU FINALLY GET TO SEE WHAT I MEAN ABT SIFS BOOTS BC THESE ARE THE BOOTS I GAVE THEM ON MY REGULAR DESIGN ARENT THEY NEAT#i did actually try to give sif a different font but nothing Works for them like the pixel font. i cant explain it.#i think 'ami' would be a nickname that mira gives it. bc. shes Fantasy French. and its a sort of 'youre more than your yearning/loss' thing#me every time i think abt sifstem: yeah they just rotate in my head. nothing major#me every time i talk abt sifstem: oh hey im almost at tag limit again#au Good what can i say

#gravity falls#bill cipher#sculpture#he needs all his arms still#and his other leg. but I'm waiting on that one bc it's gonna be the support attached to the pillar#so far he's just stuck with lollipop stick limbs#here you can see the three different kitchen tables at three different houses I've worked on him at#so I'm having a super difficult time making myself do art rn#on account of. you know. the Despair.#but I'm forcing myself to do it anyway. for bill.#and also so that I can put this finished statue in a portfolio and apply to do fabrication at a local theatre#but mostly for bill. you're the light of my life you stupid triangle. you're keeping me goin man#I'm glad that foil is really fun to work with so this project doesn't feel like a slog#I highly recommend that everyone try a foil sculpture. it's great and it is very quick#make your own bill#tie a string to his hat and dangle him from the ceiling above your bed so he smacks you in the face when you bolt awake in the morning#fluffle art#fluffle sculpts#after his limbs are done I just have to jam him onto the pedestal and touch up the fire a bit around him#then figure out how to make all the things he's holding#the necklace in particular is gonna be an Issue

this velvet appears to not have a nap and I am. so confused.
#sewing#velvet#my sewing#I'm finally finally finally getting around to actually cutting out pieces to sew from that velvet I bought back in August#first up will be the#Very Fancy Santa Hat#which has actually morphed into a hat for each me and Jack but hey I'll get a hat out of it so woooo#and after that it'll be time for the#velvet Yule dress#this is very lovely velvet. silk-rayon blend in just a gorgeous burgundy red#not a super deep pile but it drapes and moves beautifully and just looks lucious#except. the pile is the weirdest I've ever seen. some napped fabrics you can run your hand down it and it changes color#not this one. if I get my eyeline basically parallel with the fabric I can maybe see a teeny tiny bit of difference but it's subtle#I thought velvet pile always ran parallel to the selvage but this one doesn't even like to _wiggle_ parallel to the selvage#perpendicular to the selvage it wiggles back and forth but _still_ doesn't have an obvious up or down nap to it#for the hats it won't matter at all so in a minute here I'm just gonna go cut each hat piece out and just go with it#but I have spent the last hour trying to figure this out. interspersed with breaks to google and breaks to distract myself#but I don't appear to be coming up with any sudden break-throughs. it's velvet. it's silk. it has a lovely lush pile.#but somehow??? it just doesn't?? have?? a nap????#idek#I would like to figure this out before I make a floor-length princess seam gown out of the rest of the 7 yards I have on hand#but eh for the hats I suppose it really really doesn't matter
