i finally got some big gelcaps and I can't tell you how much of a difference it makes to take 2.4g of salt in one gulp several times a day. i walked like four miles yesterday with all the dog stuff and I'm still doing chores and posting on all cylinders today. i mean yes "patient followed medical advice; feels better" is what I'm reporting here but I figured it was worth mentioning in case anyone with low blood pressure or hypovolemic conditions has looked at "eat ten grams of salt a day" and thought "that sounds like an enormous amount of trouble".

get the biggest gelcaps you can safely swallow and either a capsule filling machine/tray, or just use tweezers to dip them into a little bowl of salt, then dip the cap part, and then carefully put the two halves together. sometimes I take the salt pill with a pill of the same size full of gelatin powder, to protect my stomach if it's empty (sometimes salt pill + empty stomach = nausea)

The Great Cooking Disaster

Simple & Elegant Filet Mignon Dinner with Roasted Smashed Potatoes

Tonight, I decided to whip up a restaurant-worthy meal at home, and it turned out amazing! Tender beef filet mignon paired with crispy roasted smashed potatoes. Here’s how I made this simple yet impressive dinner:

🥩 For the Filet Mignon

• 2 (6 oz) Maverick Ranch beef filet mignons

• Salt & pepper

• 🌿 Fresh sage and rosemary (a sprinkle of each)

• 🧄 2-3 garlic cloves (crushed)

• 🧈 1 tbsp grass-fed butter

🥔 For the Roasted Smashed Potatoes

• 1 lb honey gold potatoes

I do indeed relate to this song very heavily, you're right about that. Especially the whole 'cannot think about anything else at all ever 100%' type of hyperfixations, it's definitely recontextualized alot of conversations I've had before speaking about my own thought processes and ability to focus with others. This has been an ongoing thing throughout my life so far though, which means I've actually considered long enough to have an official assessment scheduled in about a month from now. (Ironic timing, I know.) I've kinda been on a recent trip of just.. getting stuff officially diagnosed after experiencing very clear symptoms for my entire life (one of the benefits of being self aware enough to keep track of certain things). At this point I've already got a laundry list of general mental disorders and possibly psychical (ain't getting the blood work for it for awhile so Dr.'s just kinda metronoming between either arthritis or some really intense psychosomatics), so I wouldn't be surprised if ADHD or autism were a thing for me aswell.

9) Most disliked character(s)? Why?

The Zogratis family is an easy target for this question so I'm gonna extend my reach just a bit more and say...

Alecdora Sandler.

Genuinely, fuck that guy. I know another character that's pretty easy to hate but let me give my why.

He's a character to made to hate on Yuno and everything he does. I hate Alecdora not because he's hating on Yuno. But because he doesn't seem to have an effect on Yuno. Like, Yuno couldn't give an iota of a shit about Alecdora's opinions and just outdoes him because he just happens to be there (yes I know Alecdora intentionally went after Yuno but the Noelle vs Solid confrontation had much more of my attention). I don't need Yuno to internalize Alecdora's hater comments the way Noelle internalizes her siblings' remarks but can I get SOMETHING out of Yuno for having to deal with Alecdora being on his ass all the time? If Yuno showed more annoyance or even vocalized "I don't give a shit about you, my eyes are on the title of Wizard King," I wouldn't be so irritated with Alecdora. He's bothering me more than the in-universe character he's giving grief!

So glad Alecdora's character was quietly put in a corner because we didn't need him to begin with. We already knew through Klaus that the Golden Dawn loved Captain William. And we knew from just... the whole manga, that nobility looked down on peasants. So Alecdora was redundant on top of being annoying. Which is definitely a losing combo.

So again. Genuinely, fuck that guy.

15) Unpopular opinion about the manga/show?

(deep breath) There should've been more anime filler.

I KNOW I KNOW! CRIMINAL THOUGHT TO HAVE! BUT HEAR ME OUT!

The expansion of some scenes and details would've helped slow the anime when it came to creeping up on manga events. I know that early episodes of the anime dragged things out but they also provided extra scenes for some characters like Magna. His backstory as presented in the manga was as minimal as one could get. But it got a lot more elaboration in the anime.

There are other things too that we could've seen more of in the anime adaptation of Black Clover. I mean, how cool would it have been to get half an episode dedicated to each of the BB groups who set out to find a cure for Asta's broken and cursed arms? Maybe even a full episode for Magna and Luck's adventure? And I mean, Fanzell's backstory from the first light novel got adapted for the anime so...

Look, Tabata is a co-writer of the light novels. Perhaps Onda (the other credited writer) takes the lead but Tabata is likely credited for some kind of input on what the light novels. And the anime creators are aware of the light novels since they adapted the Fanzell story from the first book for the sake of anime viewers' understanding.

In my opinion, it wouldn't be too big of a stretch for the anime writers and directors to have looked to the light novels for series content to adapt into the anime when catching up to the main manga storyline was something they had to worry about.

But the anime is already aired as is. Can't change it now.

So when I say that the anime should've had more filler, what I really mean is that there was a lot of missed opportunities in terms of content that could've been expanded upon or adapted. Anime viewers would get more out of it. The anime would've had less need for the anime filler that we did end up getting. And heck maybe it even would've set a precedent for adapting the light novel content of manga series in addition to the original source material.

16) If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?

For one, our ocs become canon. Yes, I said that last time but it's still a deep, selfish wish of mine.

Another option for change I have is reworking a lot of the fashion choices for the characters...

But for a story change... Yami could've offered the elves a place in the Black Bulls. Which they would've rejected in order to be in Elysia. Cause, hey, Yami recruited a criminal like Gauche. And theft isn't as serious as terrorism but Yami is displaced from his home physically and the elves as displaced from their homes temporally. He could see a bit of himself in them. Again, I'd have the elves turn down the offer but it just means that they have even more reason to be there to help the Heart Kingdom crew. After someone reached out a hand to them, it'd be their turn to reach their hands out.

Marinette gulped when she saw the new message her boyfriend Luka had sent to her a few minutes ago.

'Marinette. I have to talk to you. It's important'

She couldn't deny she was worried, anxious, and a little scared.

She knew that she didn't need to be. That now that he knew about her being Ladybug and that they had started dating again, that she had nothing to worry about. She knew she could fully trust him, and that he gave her all the love and comfort she could ever ask for.

She was happy with him, even with those akumas messing with their dates.

But since when have good things lasted for her?

There was a glimpse of worry she couldn't ignore.

"Luka! Sorry for the wait!"

"It's fine, Marinette, I saw the akuma on the news. Good job" he praised, kissing her check rewardingly. She felt her cheeks warm up at the contact.

"I didn't want to keep you waiting, so I handled it as fast as I could" she bragged and he smiled fondly at her.

"Thank you. You're amazing"

She blushed at the compliment. She was so glad she found the courage to tell him about her secret, even if he already knew. They had just started dating again and she couldn't be more thankful to have him in her life.

"And what did you want to talk about? You said it was important…"

"It is." Luka held her hand gently. "Listen Marinette: I want to leave Paris"

"Eh?" She jolted in shock. "Why?"

Her family? They hadn't been very supportive of her. Sure, they cared and loved her, but they never really checked on her despite knowing what was going on at school with Chloe and even sided with Lila when she was almost expelled! Their bond wasn't as strong anymore, not since then…

Her friends? She wished she could still call them that, but they had turned their backs on her in favor of Lila. It hurt her deeply, especially Alya. She had very few people left who she could call 'friend'.

As for her duties as Ladybug… She had been doing it for years! The thought of getting rid of Chat Noir's uncomfortable advances for once sounded like a dream come true. Of course she wanted to quit!

And on the other hand, there was Luka.

Her loving, caring and reliable boyfriend who she loved deeply. Her best friend, cool and talented, who always checked on her to make sure she was doing well. The one who welcomed her with open arms to comfort her anytime she needed someone. The person she trusted the most, even with her life, who was always so protective and always put her first (which was apparently the reason he decided to leave and ask her the question)

So yes- choosing between Luka or the rest, seemed like a joke.

"Marinette?" Luka called, snapping her out of her thoughts.

"It's not a difficult choice at all, Luka. It's easy, in fact" She smiled happily at him. "I love you and I want you in my life. I want to be with you and I'd rather take you than a bunch of people who don't fill me with joy anymore. Or anything else, really"

She loved when he stared at her with those glowing eyes of his, filled with love, fascination and adoration. Even when his mouth was absurdly open, lips curved upright.

She loved it when Luka was happy. But she loved it even more knowing that it was her that made him happy.

"So you're really coming with me? Even though I haven't told you where we're going?" Luka asked with joy and a bit of disbelief.

"Yes, I am! I want to be with you. Anywhere. Always"

"Always" he smiled like the lovefool he was. "What about your earrings?"

"I think Socqueline could be a great Ladybug. She was my inspiration when we were at school together. I learned a lot from her and I know I can trust her" she pressed their hands together.

"Sounds like a plan" he leaned in to kiss her forehead and she giggled, content with the contact. "We can leave tomorrow. Or next week, if you need more time"

"Tomorrow sounds perfect" She grinned. "Thank you for taking me with you"

"Thank you for choosing to come with me" he smiled, caressing her hands softly. "I love you, Marinette"

"I love you too, Luka"

They melted in a tender kiss, needy but steady, losing themselves in their mutual love.

It was the best feeling in the world, they agreed.
