This one’s not for your average Joe’s gravy, so you better watch out. Here it comes: serve with a spoon.

How are the main cast (The main two teams) in bossverse? Do they have any personality quirks that differ from canon? Have you changed their backstories at all?

Oh boy do I have news for you.

Ruby and Yang’s stories don’t change much, but BOY OH BOY does the story of team TRQS(because I hate generation xerox) change.

Blake was born to a poor Mistrali family. Her mother owned a small bakery that could barely break even most days, and her mother was a very vocal activist. In retaliation for that, her daughter got kidnapped as an infant and they asked for an exorbitant ransom fee. She managed to get the money together with hep from a kind soul only to have the kidnappers  never show. Blake was sold to what amounted to slavers, and was rescued when Adam broke free of the same group because no, you do not do this to a child who’s barely weened from their mother. They joined the White Fang and the rest, as they say, is history.

Weiss’ story also doesn’t change much, save for the fact that her father, Robert F. Schnee is the main member of the Schnee family. His wife, Violet, is distant at best, and most of his family is afraid of the man. With good reason I’ll only go into if someone is ungodly kinds of interested in the Schnee line.

Jaune’s mother is dead. His father tried to train him to  be a warrior and failed because he expects nothing but perfection literally all the time always. He ended up being shunted off with the servants, as the Arcs are a Noble family that runs a small Barony outside of Vale proper. His eldest sister Blanche decided to risk it all, help him steal his father’s sword, and help him forge his way into Beacon.

Nora comes from a village outside of Atlas. Her father was the Chief and most people were content. But her father and a few other villages wanted to return to the old Mantilian ways. So Ironwood put them down with extreme prejudice. Think along the lines of the Jacobite rebellions in the UK. Nora’s father sent her mother, her, and the rest of the non combatants away on a ship hoping that they would be safe. They landed near Vacuo and settled in a small monastery village. This monastery practiced The Way of Peace and things were calm and quiet for a few years. Then monks from a different village who practiced The Way of War came and burned the village and monastery, killing everyone in sight. Nora only survived because her mother put her in a  trunk and told her to be very quiet. Likewise, Ren’s monk uncle, or ‘Monkle” if you will, hid him away in the monastery. Ren picked himself up from the ashes of the monastery and started walking through the village. He found Nora crying in the wreckage and they decided to start wandering together.

Pyrrha’s father is the Fleet Admiral for the Royal Navy of Mistral. Her mother was part of team KORL with her father. Her older sister Hippeia is likewise  a very powerful Huntress. It’s kind of in the Nikos blood to be warriors. She has been trained as a  warrior since she was old enough to walk straight. She had a very good friend that she had  grown up with that trained with her and they were very close. Then a violent storm hit Mistral and a lightning strike knocked out the power to a portion of the wall and Grimm got into the city during Pyrrha’s first year at Sanctum. When she got her first glimpse at a Grimm, she froze up and couldn’t move. Her friend saved her at the cost  of his life. This left Pyrrha in a fugue state where she did nothing but eat, sleep, and train. Her father thought it might be best to send her to a new place away from the memories in the hopes that it might bring a small spark of the fire his daughter used to have back.
