They did not finish the quote, I believe this was very intentional.

This quote originates from Tennessee Williams, in which the part left off was,

"but the human heart, oh, no, it's curved like a road through mountains"

Shawn's coming out just 48 hours later was in regards to his song "The Mountain"

Relevant lyrics:

"I took a trip to the mountain"

"Call it what you want"

"I feel something different"

"Some days I have a change of heart"

"You can say I like girls or boys"

In both the song and his speech, Shawn expressed his sexuality as something that is very complex in which he is still figuring out by the day. He specifically stated,

 "I think sexuality is such a beautifully complex thing and it’s so hard to just put into boxes.”

A heart being curved like a road through mountains means exactly that, that the heart is intricate, complicated, not straight forward nor black and white.

I think it is safe to say 🌋 anon knows exactly what lies ahead. And given that this particular volcano is reticent, I find it very not so coincidental that this is the anon connected to Shawn's story given the restrainment aspect.

For now she slumbers, but something tells me the awakening is on the horizon. Time will tell ⏳

This concept has been microwaving in my brain for so long— Sharkboy and Lavagirl but what if they were anticapitalist Polynesian demigods fighting big resort corps. Character bios below for anyone who’s interested!

Akamu is the son of Filipino marine biologist Joseph Ambong and Ka'ahupahau, the shark goddess of Pu’uloa. Raised by his grandmother after his father’s disappearance, Akamu is a PhD student working to protect marine macroecosystems. He’s professional and aloof at first glance, but only those closest to him know how reckless he truly is. He tries to act cool but he’s a bit childish and has a soft side for puns. He also has a cringe obsession with Jason Momoa.

His mana was inherited from his mother and gives him supernatural strength, speed, senses, and the ability to talk to animals. His demigod form is more natural so he takes time at night to let loose in secluded coves. After some slip ups, he’s accidentally started rumors about a horror cryptid named the Sharkman. He’s very proud of it, though Keahi scolds him to keep a low profile.

Keahi is the 140 year old reincarnation of the volcano goddess Pele. When she was ten, her village was raided during the overthrow of Queen Liliʻuokalani in 1893. She was tossed into the ocean and lay buried in her demigod form until Akamu found her in 2010. She awoke with amnesia. She stayed with the Ambongs for a couple years and became close friends with Akamu. After Joseph Ambong disappeared, she bounced around the foster care system both on and off the islands. Her powers manifested uncontrollably during this time, resulting in several arson charges.

After a tough few years, she returned to the islands to work, regain her memories, and reunite with her childhood friend. She still doesn’t remember everything, but she’s trying to enjoy her life a little at a time. Keahi is a peacemaker with a strong appreciation for the natural world. She has a cheerful disposition and comes off as naive sometimes, but deep down she carries the kind of wisdom that’s built from pain. She doesn’t like talking about her past.

Unlike Akamu, her mana was transferred directly from the soul of a goddess, making her essentially immortal. In a thousand years she will become the living embodiment of young underwater volcanoes and new islands. For now, she’s just trying to appreciate living a mortal life (and taking down some greedy tourist economies in the meantime).

KAYLORS I JUST DECIPHERED THE PR MESSAGES FROM PRESENT 🎁 ANON AND AM NOW VERY CERTAIN THEY’RE LEGIT TOO. So we started receiving these very interesting anon messages exactly 2 months before the release of TTPD (release was 4/19)

We were told to keep our eyes peeled for a present or gift we would be receiving and well we got it

There are P's and R's repeated in the messages. "The hint is in the words." P = PETER. R = ROBIN. Those songs are a gift to us kaylors. They're separated by just one song, the Bolter (which I'm 99% sure is related to the 8th 🎃 message bc Taylor almost drowns and a bolter is a coward which was the main point of the message); and Taylor mentions CPR in So Long, London which means they're all related. Bc Cassandra = Taylor, Peter = her second kid, Robin, = her first kid. They're related bc they're a family. I think it's possible those are the actual names of her two kids

"This is not the manuscript" i.e. the manuscript (closing track) is not the gift, it's the songs right before it! Robin is the 2nd to last song, Peter the 4th to last, and Cassandra the 5th to last. "It has been hidden well, look where the above may find you." They can be found in the track titles themselves. "Plausible deniability. Think of the one we continue to revisit"--K and T have plausible deniability since everyone thinks those are JK's kids. BUT "the volcano will soon rupture, whoever is to defame" which means that one day all the truth will come spilling out regardless of the defamation that will happen. "Restful, reticent, restraint. And PUBLISH!"--perhaps a tell-all memoir??

"The predecessor was the crumb" in other words peace "I'd give you my wild, give you a child" (see this post) was just a faint hint but now she's getting really close to revealing everything which is what the volcano 🌋 represents! THE DANDELIONS IN THE ROBIN LYRIC VID. Robin is the single dandelion floret (secret) she was so worried abt sending into someone else’s yard in the 7th 🎃 message (see this post). She was afraid that sending this song out into the world could expose the truth she’s worked so hard to protect before she’s ready but she did it anyway. “Once you blow a dandelion, you never get it back. It isn’t yours anymore.” “But the story isn’t mine anymore.” 🎃 mentions how the recipient of the dandelion would also blow and spread the florets which might mean kaylors would catch on and spread the secret. The 8th message also mentions a dandelion that the enemy has and spreads but I’m not yet sure who this person is—also this person could be the “recipient” and not kaylors but I’m not sure. And I’m not sure if this means they’d like us to kinda keep this to ourselves and not use Robin as a gotcha since it’s meant to be more of a seed planted for future use (no pun intended). But it definitely seems like they aren’t ready to reveal everything just yet

"As the neighbor holds the lamp to witness her Goodbye" = "Now you're in my backyard turned into good neighbors" and "But the woman who sits by the window has turned out the light"

"Reach those lanterns a little bit higher for you shall receive a metaphor so dire"--a jack-o-lantern like pumpkin anon? These metaphorical messages will help us to understand K and T's entire complicated situation?

"When I cannot see words curling like rings of smoke round me"--"breath of fresh air through smoke rings." Haven't quite figured out what this part means yet but it reminds me of blowing smoke which means to deliberately confuse or deceive (lavender haze mv)

This is as far as I've gotten w decoding the messages. This all adds a lot of context to those 🎃 messages and makes them a little more clear. There’s definitely more clues in there we have yet to decipher so pls share your thoughts

Oh, this one’s a lovely sightseeing adventure! Talon Rock is an inactive volcano in the center of thick jungle. Do watch your feet for snakes; they are quite venomous here. The igneous walls of the lava tubes are home to a variety of rich gems, but make sure you vacate before high tide if you don’t want to get your clothes wet.

Stumbled on an article from 2018 where Karlie talks about going on a road trip around Iceland's Ring Road a few years earlier, with her "fiancé". Obviously we're supposed to think that's Josh, but ignoring that . . . she describes the landscape as being full of geysers, lava, volcanoes . . . and obviously that's what Iceland is like. Volcanoes, snow, beaches. She says it was a "one of a kind" trip and like being on the surface of Mars.

Just wondering about this because we know Karlie and Taylor love a road trip, and the timeline fits for being between 1989 and Reputation. I know most people think Snow on the Beach is about Big Sur, but I'm wondering if maybe it was about this trip instead? The alien imagery, the snow on the beach, the aurora borealis . . 🌋 . . .

Am I onto something? Has this ever been talked about before?

I haven’t heard of anyone talk about your theory but it’s an interesting idea. I was fortunate to also drive some of the Ring Road in Iceland in 2021 and at least when I went it was so quiet. We’d drive around, get out at random places and if we weren’t in a main tourist area there was no one around. It really was like being on another planet. One of my favorite places on earth, I really developed a love for Iceland on that trip. Anyway, it’s a great vacation spot if you’re trying to keep a low profile.

Volcano chose their name for a reason. Wonder if you’re on to something. What do people think?

As a side note: I always assumed SOTB was either inspired by somewhere completely random we don’t know about or by Holiday House. Taylor posted a video a while back (the one with the niceboy Ed song) with a short clip in the snow that looks like it was filmed there. I would have never noticed this in a million years but someone pointed out this building is the Ocean House (essentially next door to Holiday House). I don’t think there’s an issue posting this since Taylor having a home in this area is very public knowledge.

Volcanoes, mountains, dogs, cats, sketchbooks 🌋 I have loved and drawn nature and animals for a long time, but the volcanic theme has been present in my drawings since Indonesia. I fell in love with them. I like the way these natural amorphous shapes emerge, playfully flow together, pop out - like in a search game, you can see where shapes a cat or dog is hiding. I like this visual game, to discover the similarities between the forms, I myself come across a new ideas while drawing. . ✏I really would love to turn these sketches into something like an illustration series, or appareal design or search game page..? PJO ROMAN DEMIGOD HEADCANONS:🔥 VULCAN: GOD OF FIRE, METALWORKING, AND THE FORGE 🌋

Author’s Note: 🖖Again, another shorter work due to how abysmally little Romans had for Vulcan compared to other Roman gods so I'll have to pair the Vulcan imagine with his brother Mars. ROMAN DEMIGODS H/CS MASTERLIST LINKS: [TUMBLR] // [AO3]

Vulcan’s role is a bit different from Hephaestus where the Romans saw the god as more of a god of Fire and Volcanoes, someone to be fearfully respected like Neptune, rather than the Greeks perceiving Hephaestus as a god of craftsmen and blacksmithing, and being clever. So as a child of Vulcan, you’re seen as someone like you’re a powder keg ready to explode at any time rather than someone who is capable of crafting something beautiful or useful.

As a child/descendent of Vulcan, you’re automatically placed in roles that are anything that has to do with fire and fire safety; believing that you would be just like your godly father where the destruction of fire could happen. Whether or not you have inherited his power of fire or not, it doesn’t matter to the Legion, you’re still assigned to fiery situations because you are a child of Vulcan, so you’re the next best thing. This includes being the one to load and managing the trebuchets, specifically loading fiery boulders to be launched for sieges.

While there is a need for craftsmanship and artisans in Camp Jupiter and New Rome, those spots are usually occupied already and are managed by the Senate, and by legacies of Vulcan and other people as well; thus being very limited and hard to get in. In true fashion, like in Camp, you’re either have to test yourselves to the forges and craftsmen to get in, or hope you have a letter of endorsement. There’s not many chances to show off your craftsmanship and even then unless you have a clear skill for it, you’re not going to be able to have much opportunities as you are still in service to the legion.   People always wonder why the children and legacies of Vulcan are hidden away but like a mountain eruption, it all starts to bubble up and you all show that you can’t keep the people of Vulcan away from creating; showing that all underneath the rock and lava, there are hidden beauties to be unearthed.

🔥Io Vulcanalia!☄️

On August 23rd the Romans celebrated the 'Vulcanalia', a festival dedicated to Vulcan. Like his Greek counterpart Hephaestus, Vulcan was a blacksmith who forged the weapons of the gods, but in his Roman form, he was mostly associated with fires, especially destructive ones, and volcanoes 🌋

During the Vulcanalia the Romans worshipped him by creating large bonfires and throwing fish and small animals into the flames, hoping to appease him enough to keep wildfire (common at that time of year) away from their settlements. Almost all temples to Vulcan were initially built outside of cities (eventually cities like Rome expanded around them), for fear that they would be originators of fires if the god was displeased.

I've depicted him in a warm orange and red palette, with his blacksmithing tools, a pilos hat, and flames in the background. I like to think he's the most hench of the gods with all his blacksmithing work, so I gave him a cheeky one-clasp chiton to show off the goods 💪

My Charlie and Vaga(I call Vaggie Vaga now. Guess my take could be called Chaga)

Charlie loves to plays love songs for Vaga. Def has her own version of OH Millie.

Vaga’s also done her own share of songs for Charlie. Usually calm, sweet lullaby like songs. Things “you’re ok Centaurworld, Della Ducks lullaby, you’ll be ok etc”.🌌🌙😴

Vaga collects pretty objects for her. Shells, flowers, fireflies, things that glow, shiny rocks etc🐚🌹

Vaga uses her hair to wrap Charlie when she needs comfort or to get closer with her in bed. Will also sing or hum lullabies to her. Calls it Cocooning🦋

Both have def carried each other, usually when the other’s tired to bring them to bed. Charlie’s especially strong(she’s the Princess of Hell afterall).

Would absolute just pick up Vaga to show people “HEY LOOK AT MY AWESOME GIRLFRIEND!!!!!!!!💖💖💖💖💖” if Vaga let her.

Charlie def has the most pet names between them💖 fav is “Vagababe” and “mothball”. Vaga blushes so much from these ones😳

Vaga’s called Charlie “apple blossom” and lambkins”, def her fav😊🌸🐑

Enjoy dancing together. Vaga always loved dancing but…fell out of it. Being with the music loving Charlie helped Vaga get that love back💃

Vaga once put on a sorta bird plumage dance but with her hair for Charlie. She loved it 😊

Vaga’s does not like people being too close to her or touch her(especially her hair and antennae) feels most comfortable with Charlie. Charlie likes to make fun little faces and whisper sweet nothings to her hair skull in hopes to make it smile☠️😊

Def keep each other from getting themselves killed whenever they’re sick/hurt/NEED TO REST!

Charlie would think Vaga’s human form is equally adorable as her sinner form. Charlie-Your Soul is the most beautiful, in any form💖

Charlie helps Vaga with her social skills, learning to open up and let loose a bit. Def has had to remind Vaga about not pointing her spear right at peoples faces.

Vaga helps Charlie understand the complexities with sinners and the challenges that come with redemption…especially about the reluctance many have about…sharing their past.

Charlie’s as protective of Vaga as she is of her, if perhaps more. As patient as she is and very aware Vaga can take care of herself for the most part…try anything and she WILL MESS YOU UP! Has absolutely had to contain herself from literally blowing up from sinners trying to make a pass at Vaga(with how human she looks, sinners def find her cute…if perhaps also creepy, she’s part moth)

Also has had to keep Vaga from getting zapped by bright bug zappers.

Charlie usually helps Vaga pick out clothes, especially for formal occasions👗👠. Has given her some of her mother’s old stuff to wear aswell as old stuff she herself doesn’t wear anymore. Also enjoys helping with makeup 💄.

Going on the rewrite idea that sinners can go to other Rings. When Charlie read how El Salvador's(Vaga’s home country) also known as the “Land of Volcanoes”, takes Vaga to the Wrath Ring to enjoy the sights.🌋 Also enjoyed the music and dancing. It was nostalgic for Vaga…reminded her of happier times.

Charlie, Absolutely has taken Vaga to every musical possible. Some of Vaga’s top favs include, “In The Heights”, “Hamilton” & “Heathers”!

Vaga. Usually more tame compared to Charlie’s ideas but tries her best to make them just as great💖

Dates planned by Vaga. Usually nice little picnics(by the beach under the stars, watching a park community theatre, on the Hotel Roof)

The Movies, either at a theatre or at home. Usually looks for musical ones, knowing they’re Charlie’s fav💖

Vagas Def made some Salvador meals and goodies for Charlie. Has def made her delicious meals for dates, probably asks Husk to prepare nice drinks too!🍸

A lot of Vaga’s dates are in the evening/night. She’s a moth afterall🦋🌌. Def enjoys the night breeze, not too many people out, the stars, moon etc.

Like to take Charlie to calm, secluded places so they can just enjoy the moment between them.

Charlie’s def looked for things such as food, music, nature etc, that could remind Vaga of her old home, even began to take up Spanish herself for Vaga💖.

Def help brush each other's hair. Vaga especially needs the help.

The apple pin Vaga wears was from Charlie for her cloak. And the bow Charlie wears was from Vaga, ripped a bit of her own cloak and made it into a cute bow for her in thanks.

For my Chaggie, it's not that Charlie puts too much pressure on vaga, would never mean to. But it's Mainly Vagas own inner demons making her devoted to Charlie and do everything she can to help her...especially for what she did☠️🪽🗡️

Does her best to encourage Vaga to think for herself, that it’s ok to disagree with her, think differently from her, question her.

When Charlie finds out the truth of Vaga not only being an exorcist but the one who...it destroys them both💔 Vaga moves into the Heaven Embassy(where Charlie and Adam talked) or somewhere else away to give her space, and Charlie...she was a wreck(even took off her bow tie). Had to take some days away from each other. Their reconciliation def took some more time💔

lmao who's sending me these asks? Don't mistake me, they are very useful for me to flesh out the characters and I love answering, but I feel like I literally just look away for a moment and there's suddenly seven new asks with the same format.... sus......... 🧐

Alright, here we go:

Narmer: He is a very patient person in general. More than he should be. But God have mercy on your poor soul if his anger finally boils over because it can happen.

Qenna is surprisingly patient I think. You wouldn't think so, for a first impression, but they are. I'm not gonna tell you what happens when Qenna gets really angry though cuz that's a spoiler.

Zaia is not very patient but their anger isn't very dangerous either. I mean, for a spirit. They wouldn't do anything drastic, just sulk a bit.

Tabiry is a harder case. I feel like there are things that she is patient with, and some that she really isn't.

Ahmose is easily irritated by certain things and they are generally quick to lose their temper. They wouldn't do anything drastic when they are angry. Probably just say some things that they will regret later.
