you know im curious about the times hermes would ask zagreus if he'd like hermes to keep talking or to shut up while he offers his boon like arent these boon dialogues supposed to be one-sided? so how can hermes respond to zagreus' reply then?

at first my bet was that hermes was actually wherever zagreus is at the time but i dont think that would be plausible plus they couldve give us the courtesy of offering us a 3d model of him if that was true so my only guess is hermes is speedy enough to catch whatever zagreus is saying... i guess?

More of my WHM Raen Au Ra WoL. & his gender affirming surgeon + fling from thousands of years in the past. & his big knight boyfriend from the present.

His lore is that Hydaelyn magically blocked his ability to speak & write at the start of his journey, which Venat reverses on Elpis. While he's there, he takes the opportunity to get a quality of life upgrade from Hermes.

Throughout the Hydaelyn vs. Zodiark arc, people assume that his echo visions are tuned into the future (like Mikoto from the Ivalice raids & Bozja) as well as the past because of his lack of surprise when certain knowledge is revealed to him & when quests progress, acting weird when shit is about to go down, & his pastime of drawing things that he shouldn't know about. They're wrong, but he doesn't deny it because him being a seer is the simpler & easier explanation.

💝 - what is your oc f/os love language (gift giving, acts of service, words of affirmation, etc)? what kind do they give and what kind do they like to receive?

man... okay.

the kind he usually sticks to is gift giving — not especially grandiose ones (though he's not opposed to that, either), but the little ones; the "i saw this and thought of you" ones; the "i was missing you when i bought this so i want you to have it" ones. he's the type that loves getting souvenirs wherever he goes, so it's not uncommon for him to come back from visiting who-knows-where with a handful of various little things to give me.

that said, that's a very surface level love language for him. not that it's not also true, but i think his true, genuine one is quality time. he doesn't like to stay in one place for very long — and that extends to the time he spends with people, too. the way to really tell that he loves someone — and the way that's easiest to show — is by just... staying with them. returning to them again and again, even if it makes leaving that much harder.

and i think that would be the kind he'd like to receive, too — someone who stays with him. someone who's always waiting for him when he comes back.

🧸- what is your oc f/os sleeping habits? do they like to cuddle? do they sprawl out on the bed? do they kick the blankets off in the middle of the night?

hm... he's one of those people that can sleep almost anywhere and in any position — side effect of living the better part of your childhood in the backseat of your parents' car and always traveling via airplane now. he's also a pretty heavy sleeper for the exact same reason — the only things that can really wake him up immediately are his phone alarm going off or someone saying his name. oh, and he's the kind of person who can stay up really late and still wake up early the next morning and be completely fine. morning people 🙄 (affectionate)

for a while, though, i think he was really against cuddling — not that he hates it by any means, but because it'd always make untangling himself in the morning harder when he knew he had a plane to catch in a few hours. but he does really like it — loves going to sleep holding me; loves waking up and still holding me; loves finally not feeling so unbearably lonely when he opens his eyes in the morning.

orange pansies.

pansies themselves symbolize things like nostalgia and remembrance on top of also being a symbol of love — and specifically, in victorian times, they were used as a symbol of forbidden love between secret lovers — and when they're orange, they can also represent things like hope and optimism. most of the association is just for the aesthetic of it, but... the deeper, symbolic meaning fits really well with both him and our relationship, too.

by nature of Being Hermes — and thus the god that's associated with it — he's a gemini

that said, it does actually fit him pretty well. he's not necessarily two-faced, but he is... really flighty. he gets bored really easily and takes off at the drop of a hat; inconsistent and indecisive are two of the main ways people who know him — or know of him — describe him. but he's also really fun to be around, learns and picks up on things quickly, and is super quick-witted, too.

♟️- how smart is your oc f/o? is it academic smarts, emotional smarts, etc? where does your oc f/o thrive and where do they lack?

learning things — whether it be skills, information, or anything else — is something he's good at, up until the point he has to start putting in serious effort. if it's something he's interested in, he'll do so, but otherwise, he drops it and moves on. because of that, he's got a lot of random skills and knowledge that don't really amount to much of anything. they make for good conversation starters, though lmao

i'd say he's a little more emotionally smart than book smart, if only because he's far more of a people person — and a "learn by going out and experiencing the world" kind of person — than anything else. he's really witty, though — if nothing else, he's really good at thinking on his feet.
