i’m very biased but people acting like atsushi is somehow a bland or unimpressive mc will always be crazy to me because he’s just??? so fucking excellent. i will never get over the way he subverts the classic good guy protagonist trope. his morals being guided not by what society deems right and wrong but by what makes him feel like a good person, and even that can be overridden by his natural inclination to prioritize himself. and we see this from the first chapter. like. hi, my name is atsushi. i love chazuke. i’m going to attack and rob the next person i see, because i’m so hungry. i saved a man from drowning in the river, why isn’t he thanking me? i’ll join his heroic organization even though i don’t want to, because it’s the only way to keep a roof over my head. my two favorite people are ex-mafia members who’ve taken countless lives. my least favorite person is also a mafia member who’s taken countless lives, but it’s different because he’s an asshole to me and my friends. i need kyouka to stay safe, because i care about her, but also because she’s proof that i can help people and that i’m good. today i found out that i killed someone when i was younger, but what did he expect? he hurt me. he deserved it. the man who abused me in childhood died too. he was hit by a truck. it doesn’t matter what his intentions were, because he hurt me. he deserved it. why can’t i stop crying?

Being flustered a little, Dazai lowers his eyes to hide this fact.

It goes along with his grumpy personality. People definitely don’t understand how someone so happy is with Crocodile. But then again no one would say a word…too afraid of the guy. During any meetings he has with Mihawk and Buggy he makes sure your well taken care of. He really doesn’t allow you in the meetings considering he doesn’t really trust those two, especially the clown. Also!! In these meetings him and Mihawk tend to beat poor Buggy up….he doesn’t want you watching that.

And considering you love cute little animals, he didn’t hesitate to show you his pet Pug. It’s kinda cute that a scary huge hug has a small dog. And you bet your ass he cares about the puppy. Crocodile also loves how smart you are and how good you are with numbers, you would make a perfect part for the Cross Guild, but he knows that you don’t like working under pressure or like the idea of being in a leadership position. So he won’t push the idea on you. But from time to time you do help him with his paperwork. Considering Buggy is very useless.

Crocodile doesn’t like that you’re a people pleaser, yes it’s okay to help out and all. But not when you’re uncomfortable with the task or when you can’t say no. So of course he’s gonna teach you how to put yourself first. He even encourages you to say no to him.

Due to the height difference, he finds it rather cute when you get mad. He’ll tease you, which would earn him a hard kick to the leg from you.
