okay one more azuma post for the day before i go to bed because i have to do work at my job in 7hours:

i think it’s incredibly telling that as soon as hashimoto is not credited on something related to the series we get:

1. more noticeably adult looking designs for the characters as a whole (even if i’m not a huge fan of the 3d models’ art style)

2. actual skin tone variety for a large chunk of the cast that’s not just 98% pale and one to two characters who are possibly some sort of greyish in tone

#silent hope was also noticeable for this in that as a spinoff without hashimoto on it #the cast was about ~60% Not Pale and we got rune factory and co’s first ever black character in the form of caster #like im not joking that single cast of 9 was more diverse rhan like the entire rf series before ir.#azuma has both given us our first ever non-pale protagonist in the form of subaru #as well as several brown charas showcased over two (2) trailers. who all have saturated skin tones.#i’ve spoken abt this before with people but it’s certainly very much the aspect of hashimoto-era bokumono & rune factory in general im most #critical about. because his colourism & racism are very noticeable at times.#ex. the lulukoko charas being a mishmosh of cultures + allegedly speaking gibberish as tbeir language in jpn 3t #or the brother trio in grand bazaar’s designs being racist caricatures #or everything regarding fuuka who he designed.#i love these series and i especiallg love rf. as we all know. but it’s a terrible look and it’s v telling that this kind of cast diversity #only shows up as soon as he’s not in rhe picture #bri.txt

#nym speaks #they all suck SO much but my least favorite kind is when an effort was at least made to keep his skin looking ALMOST correct so it's not #immediately apparent probably if u're running based solely on memory which I imagine a lot of people r #however when u gif him nonstop it's immediately clear that his skin is /not/ the tone it should be #tho I've also seen a set that whitewashed him during the Jakku night scenes #do u have. any idea how much EFFORT it would take to manage that #that's not purely by accident okay I get scenes like the tarmac scene are vvvv difficult to nail #with adjusting the lighting without turning him as white as my vampire ass #(another reason I don't gif that scene terribly often it never comes out looking the way it should)#but jakku???? the night shots???? girl there is NO way you can accidentally do that there #you would have to very deliberately take the steps to get him very pale in those shots #it annoys the absolute hell out of me I can't even begin to imagine what it feels like for fans of color #do!!! better!!!!! jfc #I do my best not to reblog any gifsets like that but with the wonkiness of color settings on my phone I /might/ miss some #which for that I apologize

my anxiety is unbelievably fucking bad rn. i am so scared

#purrs #delete later #ask to tag #(putting slashes thru things so that they don’t show up in search btw)#i have no right to be scared bc im not there. but im so scared for the people of ga/za. and i am so scared that… idk. it’s completely my #fault bc i go looking for these kinds of things on purpose to hurt myself. but i doomscrolled last night about ww/3 and the possibility of #nu/clear war being fueled by is/rael’s ‘war’ on pale/stine and not only am i sick with fear about the people living directly in that region #but i am so fucking scared of the possibility of nu/clear war. or like. any war breaking out in the us. which i know is a ridiculous self #centered thought to have but my anxiety is out of fucking control rn and it has been getting worse throughout the week. i just don’t know #how to wrap my head around the violence of this week. and so few je/wish ppl i know irl are antizi/onist and ppl just expect me to be #supportive of is/rael jsut bc im je/wish and it makes me fucking FURIOUS not only because i resent these horrors being committed to innocent #people in the name of my own people but it is so extremely dangerous to conflate j/udaism with zi/onism. the consequences diasporic je/ws #are goi ng to face are of course nowhere near as central or all-consumingly violent as the people in gaz/a and i feel personally safe enough #as someone who (and i know this is kind of a terrible thing to say) passes very easily as a go/y (esp w a mask on) and has a g/oy last name #but i am so fucking terrified of the antise/mitism getting worse here and have been exposing myself to evidence of it even though it is #extremely destructive to my mental health. but also i deeply resent the rhetoric around ‘reach out to your j/ewish friends they’re suffering #rn’ because…. we are not a monolith nor are we the direct victims in this situation and it just feels so uncomfortable and centering to make #it an issue of silence etc etc when… there are innocent ppl in g/aza who are experiencing terror no human being should ever have to endure #and most of them are children and they are the people who will ‘pay’ most directly and immediately and severely for what happened a week ago #i just feel so fucking on edge from this entire situation and unable to do anything to help when the destruction is imminent and this #nightmare of a country is at the core of so much suffering in this world and it will take centuries to undo it all and in the meantime so #many innocent people are going to die and maybe the entire world will be destroyed by nu/clear war which we are basically begging for at #this point. it’s so hard to function in my personal life when i am keenly aware of what could be happening at any moment #i don’t know how to end this post. im just fucking scared and there’s nothing i can do

CHEMICAL FIRE!#dante has water and travis has crystal + darkness #'why is crystal an element that seems so specific' explodes you with my mind. because i SAID SO #the main elements so far are fire water earth wind plants crystal lightning light and finally darkness #light and dark are super super rare. travis is an enigma and many people want to study him under a microscope #aph also has the element of darkness. she and travis get constant 'are you two gone become evil super villains together??' comments #also at the school they are all forced to live in dorms of people with the same element (if they have more than one element then they go #based off of what their most prominent/powerful element is usually). there are three people per dorm #gene gets to stay in a room with dante and zane. dante is fine but zane is a terrible roommate #vylad gets to stay in a room with blaze and laurance. actual hell on earth because they both keep fighting over garroth #aph and travis share a dorm because theyre the only people at school who have the element of darkness #they have a uniform! the colors are the colors of your element(s)#which means vylad gets. red and green. the worst possible combo. he looks like hes wearing an ugly christmas outfit all the time #travis gets pale purple and black which looks super cool #dante and gene both get blue #aph gets all black. although she usually wears purple accessories (which technically arent allowed but most ppl dont care)#WOW this is longer than i thought itd be and i havent even explained half of it. whoops

Is it just me who cannot figure out their colour season

#like i know i’m not a spring but that’s as far as i’ve managed to narrow it down #like. okay my natural hair colour is like an ashy brown #it’s kind of light? i mean it’s recognisably brown. but the sun will bleach blonde streaks in it #i still wouldn’t call it a warm colour. it’s ashy #i have dark hazel eyes that look black when you’re further away. but closer up you can see a lot of green in them #i am a white person who’s very pale; gets some freckles and has very rosy cheeks #however if you look at the veins in my wrists they’re green. and i do think i have a slight yellow undertone #i’ve dyed my hair a lot and the only colour that’s looked really terrible on me was black. everyone told me i looked ill #in fact i may be the only person in the world who doesn’t always look good in black #i mostly wear silver jewellery although i look fine in gold. and the main colours i gravitate towards clothing-wise are blues #greens and grays. some purple #i never wear white. bright colours look fine on me. in fact i think i can wear any shade of pink or orange #i don’t know what all of this meanssss. i had an app analyse me but on two different photos it gave me warm autumn and soft summer #i got cool summer when i did a quiz as well #it’s the fact i don’t have blue eyes and the fact my veins are green that makes me think i’m an autumn of some sort #but then my hair is ashy? so it’s like.. what.#i don’t think i’m high contrast enough to be considered a winter. but i don’t know #i’m starting to think the overall concept of colour seasons is a lie. but i still want to know #personal
