No but I'm still so mad at people believing Rayla's Arc 2 writing is misgogynistic. Just say you don't like female characters having actual development outside being girlbossy just say it.

TDP Rewatch S2 E6: The Heart of a Titan
procrastinating writing the next chapter of Different Path Taken by watching the show? Me? Yeah.
This title hits different after the Mystery of Aaravos arc, I gotta say.
Why does Viren keep getting the recap voice. I'm so annoyed with this bitch.
This show does a really good job of putting different narrative arcs over each other, like Harrow's narration and Viren's, Ezran's speech over Claudia and Ibis' fight, that sort of thing.
I really, really love the parallel between Harrow's fatherhood and Runaan's. Harrow was dealing with being a stepfather, "trying to give you space to love your real father, even though he passed away." At the same time as Runaan was stepping in as a guardian for a friend who would, as far as he knew, one day return to take Rayla away again. They both had a reason to hold their distance, and they weren't bad people for doing it. They tried to make their love known without replacing those parents, and the thing is - they succeeded. They didn't get the chance to say the words before Viren cursed them both, but Callum and Rayla know that their adoptive (so to speak) fathers loved them.
God, I'm a whore for these fucking elves apparently, I'm literally pausing and going frame by frame through the few seconds we get of the assassins approaching the castle while Harrow narrates.
So Ram seems to have been responsible for guiding the others, he took point on approach to the castle. Also he wears a ring on his right horn, and these fuckers really love running in trees for absolutely no reason.
Andromeda was on his heels to his left. Callisto followed on the right, Runaan after on the left again. Skor brought up the rear, and was watching behind them. Oh this is interesting - where Ethari's facial tattoos trail under his chin and across his neck, Skor's do not. They stop at his jaw.
Tumblr media
@ Skor, nice ass. Also, Callisto, Callisto, where the Fuck are you storing that glaive??? Ram uses knives, Andromeda's sickles could easily just be under her cloak, we can see Runaan's blades, Skor's are likely on his back, but Callisto's glaive is longer than they are tall, even if it collapses like Rayla's butterfly blades or Runaan's bowblade, where did they put it??
"A lie, a wish, and a secret."
What is it with this show and having characters just yell "DAAAA!" as a battlecry
Funny how once again, as the battle begins to rage, Viren doesn't lift a finger to help. This seems to be a trait of his. Whenever things come down to real battle or real labor, he backs out.
The sister shield launch was fucking epic, I don't care how ridiculous it is, I loved it. How Amaya looked up and just knew, and Sarai trusted her to know exactly what to do. They've done this before.
Oooh, yeah, Amaya probably also has a concussion. Brains are fragile and she just got her whole body rattled in a metal can, including hitting her head so hard her own helmet cut her cheek. She'll be battered af for a few days.
I also love how Sarai got so concerned for a moment, but when Amaya reached for lightness, Sarai joked back that she doesn't look great, but she should see the other guy. It's really nice that we can see this is just a throughline of who Sarai is; she's supportive and kind and has a tendency to respond to serious situations with humor to diffuse them. She's funny, and that's just really nice to see as a guiding character trait in a woman in media. A mom in media, at that, and her humor is actually funny, not the usual "haha parents making jokes that make their kids cringe".
Oooh I'm fucking vibrating over this argument between Harrow and Viren and Sarai and Amaya about whether to take the heart and leave the wounded or wait for everyone to make it. Because here's the thing, right. Sarai is arguing that the wounded will be fine - she and Amaya can stay back; she clearly has a plan. Theoretically, the wounded could hide and recuperate and then sneak back later. She is not wrong about this. Viren is pushing to just abandon them entirely - which he's extra eager to do because Sarai threatens his sway over Harrow. Harrow won't do either of those things, because leaving someone in danger is absolutely against his personal moral code, which is the main thing that got them into this situation in the first place. He cannot turn his back on someone who needs help, even now when it would actually be somewhat practical - and Viren drives him to extremes.
Also, "you wouldn't do this if it wasn't your wife's sister" made Harrow snap, and I really like that moment, because it's very clear right then that Viren said it because he knew it would hurt, and Harrow knew he was saying it just to sting. I also can't help but think about the conversation that must have been had among the assassins after they discovered Rayla didn't kill Marcos, and Runaan didn't kill her - would he have done it if she wasn't his daughter?
And the fundamental difference between Runaan and Harrow in that choice, which is that Harrow would stay and save them all even if it wasn't Amaya. But Runaan would have killed her, if she wasn't his daughter.
The Lie: History is a narrative of strength.
That lines up really well with how much Viren harps on strength, how it's worse to be weak than to be cruel, in his eyes. I wonder if Harrow expected Viren to use this narrative on his boys, and was trying to head it off in this letter even though he wasn't going to be there to stop Viren himself.
Something about how Harrow's narration of how he learned how the moments of purest strength appear as weakness to those who don't know better is lined up over Callum accidentally hurting Ezran during play, and dropping his toy sword to make sure he's okay. Something about how Harrow learned this lesson in love from his children, and now he's trying to make sure they hang onto that lesson as they move forward with history.
"Reject history as a narrative of strength, and instead have faith that it can be a narrative of love."
Did Villads always know Rayla was an elf? I don't remember if we get that reveal later or if that was just a really good fic or something. I'm like 90% sure he asked about her name because he knew perfectly well she was an elf and was curious if she'd admit it.
The fact that she just outright says she's an assassin is either her being a true dumbass or having a culture clash moment because being an assassin in the Silvergrove is just like. A profession. A normal thing someone can do.
"Never give up on yer dreams!" He says when she confesses she's never killed anyone.
He has definitely killed people.
There are way too many discarded weapons and banners in the sands around as Harrow's party retreats in the flashback. I'm wondering if this is Viren's narrative license, making it seem worse than it was, the animators taking some license to just throw weapons in there to demonstrate the Vibe, or if it's evidence of other battles fought there recently.
The narrative parallel of Thunder appearing in Viren's story and then framing Zym in his silhouette.
"I love wisdom. Bring it." Rayla says in the present, and based on how often Runaan just pops off with some randomly profound idiom, I wanna imagine she's just used to getting random bits of wisdom from him.
Also like. I just started thinking about it again. And can we discuss how uh . . . she knows Harrow is dead. But . . . she didn't know yet that the other assassins died? She knew it was possible, that they expected it to be extra dangerous, but since they succeeded in their mission, she had to have wondered - did they escape? How many? Did they go home to report her betrayal? Or were they recuperating and going to hunt her and the boys down?
"Life is like a river. You can't see too far ahead. (I can't see at all, as I might have mentioned before.) You don't know where the river of life will bend and turn. You don't know where it'll go at all. Don't try to control where the river goes. There's one thing you can know and control - yourself. Look at yourself. Who are you, Rayla? What do you stand for? Once ye know that, then wherever the river takes ye, you'll be right where you were always meant to be."
Rayla does the dramatic teenager thing and tries to make a speech in response, but Villads really was pretty profound here.
Love how the one time Viren actually tries to help he actually just makes things incredibly worse for Annika and Neha - and also almost screwed up their sacrifice, by dying as well and making their efforts meaningless. Also Annika reaching back for Neha before Avizandum's tail struck them was just . . . a heart-wrenching detail.
"I don't know what's waiting on the other side." is a really neat moment of contrast, I think. Because here, Harrow is saying he doesn't know what lies beyond death; humans don't have that assurance. He believes he'll be able to watch over the boys, but he doesn't know for certain what death will be.
That's a really interesting contrast to how Moonshadow elves see death as not an end, because they do know what happens to their dead. They can summon them even, with the right magics. There's no issue of belief or uncertainty in death for them.
I really don't think Avizandum killed Sarai. He unhorsed her and Viren, and she was gasping for breath when Viren turned her over, but what, he in his pretty courtier's robes wasn't harmed but she in her full plate armor - having not hit anything, there were no rocks near her that could have hurt her this badly - was killed? Also, even his narration goes black before she takes her last breath, and she chokes on it like she was stabbed.
Because she fucking was. He has her last breath in a bottle because he killed her. Avizandum was already flying away when he ran over saying they needed to hurry. And then Sarai had had the wind knocked out of her, maybe jarred something badly enough in her plate that it was hard to move, and he saw this wild chance to remove this obstacle that kept pulling Harrow out of his control, so he took it.
I hope Sarai left bruises on him that he had to cover up. I hope he suffered with it.
Harrow telling Callum to reject history as a narrative of strength, and instead see it as a narrative of love, as Viren does exactly what Harrow warned about, and tells a story of epic battles and victories and strength, to Aanya.
I still hate that Sarai's statue is the moment she reached for Viren to save him. He tainted both of their memories.
"Are you ready?" "No. But you may open the doors." No. Gods, how could anyone be ready for this? How could anyone prepare to tell this little boy that you love, that you've taken into your home, whose mother you married, that you are still struggling to express your own love for, that his mother won't be coming home?
I do love that he hugged Callum first thing, though, and Callum hugged him back.
The Wish: for his children to be free of the sins of the past.
"As a father, I have a selfish wish." "Create a brighter future from your own hearts and imagination."
The way both Harrow and Runaan frame their wishes for their children to be better than they were as selfish.
As a more meta note, I do think it's neat that the creators were just like "Annika and Neha are Aanya's genetic parents. No we will not elaborate." and then they just didn't. That's the funniest possible way for them to handle a fantasy lesbian couple with a daughter. Is one of them trans? Was Aanya a magical test tube baby? Did one of her moms just use magic to swap bits for a little while to try for a baby like a World of Warcraft character? We don't know. That's not important. I cannot think of a funnier way they could have framed this. They didn't have to confirm to us that she was their genetic child at all, they just did it and left us to speculate. This is gold.
Wait is this why people in my Ao3 inbox keep commenting that Runaan and Ethari should have babies, because canon does just straight up have a same-sex presumably cis couple having a baby already
Aanya's "I believe that they would. But I will not." Is such a good moment, especially with Harrow and Callum's plot running simultaneously. Harrow is warning Callum of exactly what Viren is doing, and Aanya stands up and does exactly what Harrow wants Callum to know to do.
"I cannot repay a debt of a hundred thousand lives who were saved, by sending a million more to die in violence." Speak! Up! Aanya! Admittedly, this is why she felt a little weird to me in Season 7 encouraging Ezran down his nuclear deterrent type plans, but like. they're both kids in positions of power from very young ages. They were bound to have chaotic eras, and we don't really know what's been going on for her in the time lapse.
Viren going straight for the other king who has mentioned having children for help "talking sense into her" happened, didn't it. Did he ever do that to Harrow, I wonder? When Soren was being unruly, did he turn to Harrow in exasperation and ask him to help talk sense into the boy, only for Harrow to encourage Soren's athletic pursuits?
Again with the throwing a fit and resorting to violence in his anger, to the point of striking out at a king, physically shoving Ahling around.
The secret: the Key of Aaravos.
Archmage Aaravos, a master of all six Primal Sources. So they told us right here in season 2 that Primal Sources can be learned, because Aaravos learned them. Harrow knew that already, which is interesting.
WATERPROOF SOCKS INDEED, VILLADS. YES. THANK YOU.
Callum just really needing a hug from Ezran after reading the letter hits. I really really love how their brotherhood is portrayed in this show, never a joke, they're allowed to just be soft. "Is this a trick?" because yeah brothers do that shit to get close for pranks sometimes. "No, I just love you." "Well I love you too." I just. I just.
I appreciate that Villads just outright calls himself a pirate. That's great.
Also, something about how Callum and Harrow both have green eyes is getting me in the heart. They're not related. It's a coincidence. But I'm sure that hit Sarai in the chest a few times, watching them bond with each other, watching Callum start to pick up mannerisms and traits from Harrow, even if she never got to see their later form.

Let's talk about how Callum desperately wants to be liked by Tristan in the "what we had was significant" scene.
"Liked" is perhaps not the word considering that he is partly trying to upset him with the whole Rhodes situation. Yes, he's presenting Tristan with the fact that Libby needs to set off a nuclear bomb because he promised he would find out how to get her back buuuuuut he is also presenting the knowledge specifically to Tristan, with no interest to present it to anyone else.
And thinks this:
"Which was thoroughly impossible. A comedy of errors to the highest degree. And this was who Tristan had chosen over Callum! This was what he had done, and in the murky plumbing of Callum’s allegedly nonexistent heart, he hoped that Tristan suffered for it."
This is punishment. This is jealousy. This is also a cry for attention.
The main reason I'm making this post is that Callum is constantly applying techniques from "How to Win Friends and Influence People":
"For example, one way to make people like you was to smile, which Callum winningly employed now."
Why is he applying this?
A) For the irony
B) Because he is a petty bitch
C) Because he is a sad lonely man that connected his sense of love to Tristan and then was betrayed by him and still longs for his attention
D) Because he wants to be liked by Tristan specifically despite how he says he doesn't want to be liked in book 1 (perhaps he wants more complicated emotions than liked, he wants to be remembered, he wants to matter to someone)
E) All of the above
E IS WHAT I THINK THE ANSWER IS! LISTEN THESE CHARACTERS' EMOTIONS ARE COMPLICATED!
Tell me doesn't want Tristan's attention after reading this line:
"And yet, I am the only one in this house who’s been any help to you at all, Tristan, so you’re welcome."
It's not only that he wants to be "liked" by Tristan. It's mixed up with several other emotions as well but wanting to be "liked" is also there.
The punishment theme is there as well mixed in with bitterness of the world, Callum knew he shouldn't have gotten attached but he did anyway:
"This was just the world. You trusted people, you loved them, you offered them the dignity of your time and the intimacy of your thoughts and the frailty of your hope and they either accepted it and cared for it or they rejected it and destroyed it and in the end, none of it was up to you. This was just what you got. Heartbreak was inevitable. Disappointment assured."
Then Callum claims he's fine for no reason, which just further emphasizes he's not:
"Honestly, Callum was doing just fine with his grief."
His grief over being betrayed? Being almost murdered? Grief over losing Tristan?
Likely all of them.
Then he admits that Tristan is correct about the "what we had was significant" speech:
"Mostly, though, Callum wanted Tristan to suffer profoundly for every honest word out of his mouth."
This speaks for itself.
I will conclude this with Callum's parting words to Tristan:
"Callum exhaled. And smiled. People did not like to be contradicted, said Dale Carnegie, master of influencing, apparently. It was best not to criticize, even when people were wrong about silly things like where they had placed their loyalties.
'Good luck,' said Callum. 'With everything. Hope it works out between you and Rhodes.'"
WHY IS HE APPLYING THESE TACTICS??
A) For the irony
B) Because he is a petty bitch— *GETS SHOT BEFORE I CAN TALK ABOUT THIS FOR 100K WORDS*

February 7, 2021: Emma. (2020)
Another late one, people! Tomorrow might be a bit later, too, full warning. Like I said, school’s back in session, and I got students to teach and class to prepare!
Tumblr media
When I was a kid, I was a pretty avid reader, mostly due to my mom’s drive to get me to be an avid reader. I read Shakespeare from an early age, which might be why I like it so much, and why I remember it so well.
I also read Jane Austen’s Emma when I was 10 years old. On a related note, I remember none of Jane Austen’s Emma. On another related note, I’m fairly certain that I saw its most famous adaptation, Clueless, and I don’t remember that either.
Tumblr media
I’m tempted to rewatch that one, since I don’t remember it AT ALL, but I figure that I’m going to place a more direct adaptation of the work first on my list of priorities. And so, one of the ONLY movies to come out last year is one my list, starring an up-and-coming “it girl,” Anya Taylor-Joy.
From what I can tell, this is a fairly popular movie on this platform, so I’m looking forward to watching it, despite knowing NOTHING about it, other than the fact that it’s a romance drama, and based off of a classic British novel by Jane Austen. Shall we? SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Recap
Tumblr media
Emma Woodhouse (Anya Taylor-Joy) lives in the 1815 English countryside, with her father, Mr. Woodhouse (Bill Nighy), and her caretaker, Mrs. Taylor (Gemma Whelan). However, this is about to change, as she is to marry Mr. Weston (Rupert Graves) that day.
Emma is a sweet girl, who seems to be ale to predict things to pass. She also set up the present marriage, although she seems not to want one for herself. However, she also seems interested in the whereabouts of Mr. Taylor’s son, Frank. He never shows up, though.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the Woodhouses are visited by George Knightley (Johnny Flynn), whom her father favors, and whom Emma seems to clash with. And Imma call it now: they totally end up together in the end. I mean, c’mon.
Emma’s trying to replace Mrs. Weston nee Taylor as a governness, despite the fact that her father doesn’t want it. Emma finds Harriet Smith (Mia Goth), a young women whom she goes to school with, and apparently might be the illegitimate daughter of a nobleman. She’s also interested in setting Harriet up, as Emma prides her skills as a matchmaker.
Tumblr media
However, Harriet’s already interested in a local farmer, Robert Martin (Connor Swindels), but Emma’s trying to set her up with a local vicar, Elton (Josh O’Connor). They go to meet Mrs. Weston, and Emma introduces herself to Elton, who she believes likes her in return.
The next day, Emma and Harriet go to the store, where the gossipy busybody Miss Bates (Miranda Hart) comes to speak with the VERY unwilling Emma, and the considerably more interested Harriet. Miss Bates is speaking up her niece, Jane, although Emma certainly doesn’t seen to care nearly as much as Miss Bates thinks she does.
Tumblr media
On the way home, Harriet and Emma encounter Robert Martin, and Emma's definitely not a fan of that potential relationship. Instead, she regularly puts down Mr. Martin, and talks up Vicar Elton.
Tumblr media
As Elton and Harriet begin getting closer, and Emma seems to be vindicated in support of the relationship she set up, Knightley’s...not impressed. In a conversation with Mrs. Weston, he basically says that she gets high on flattery, and while she isn’t necessarily a true narcissist, she still NEEDS approval from her peers and others. That’s why she’s setting up Harriet, who feeds her constant flattery.
In addition, her whole “never going to get married” thing doesn’t seem to fly with George, here, who’d like her to fall in love with someone who isn’t...well, a simp, let’s be honest here. And honestly, this is already an interesting character dissection, and I can dig it.
Tumblr media
Knightley complicates matters for Emma, when he convinces Martin to write a letter, asking for Harriet’s hand in marriage. However, due to Emma’s subtle manipulations, she convinces Harriet to refuse the proposal, despite the fact that she clearly wants to say yes. And while Emma might be beautiful, and quite smart...yeah, she’s a bitch. Or, at the very least, she acts like one for her own benefit.
Knightley, pissed off about this whole thing, confronts Emma about her manipulations, and states that Martin might be the ideal match for Harriet. After calling her out, and warning her that Elton miiiiiiight be a bit of a ladies’ man, and that he’s certainly the wrong match for Harriet in the end. Emma admits that she mostly wants to keep Harriet for herself.
Tumblr media
Autumn turns to Winter, and Emma’s older sister Isabella Knightley (Chloe Pirrie), and her husband John Knightley (Oliver Chris) (and George’s younger brother) come to visit Emma and her father for the holidays. George and Emma make amends, although Emma still won’t admit that she may have been wrong.
Christmas Day comes, and Harriet is sick, while Frank Churchill once again neglects to appear at the house of his father and new wife. George berates his neglect of his familial duties, while Emma argues in his favor, obviously harboring a crush on him still.
Tumblr media
At dinner, Elton makes a remark about snow, causing LITERALLY EVERYBODY to leave the party prematurely, and Emma’s father accidentally leaves her behind. Elton, however, offers to give her a ride in his carriage. And in the carriage, he reveals that not only does he actually love Emma, but that he doesn’t care for Harriet at fucking ALL. Fuckin’ WHOOF.
Looks like Elton’s misread EVERY POSSIBLE SIGNAL, and Emma FUCKED UP SOMETHING FIERCE. Harriet is quite saddened by this, and is about to destroy a portrait of herself that Emma made for her. However, Emma instead keeps it. Elton disappears for a number of weeks, just as the niece of Miss Bates, Jane Fairfax (Amber Anderson) suddenly reappears.
Tumblr media
At dinner, it’s revealed that Jane appears to know Frank Churchill, as they live in the same place. During a piano performance of Jane’s that’s WAY BETTER than Emma’s performance, it’s also revealed that Emma’s been compared to her all of her life, giving her some fat, fat insecurities!
After an awkward encounter with Mr. Martin, Harriet goes to the Martin household to visit his sisters. Meanwhile, the long-awaited arrival of Frank Churchill (Callum Turner) comes, and Emma is unsurprisingly smitten with him. He asks her for a dance at an upcoming dinner, and she accepts.
Knightley is, of course, not impressed with the worldly gentleman. Meanwhile, someone has apparently delivered a pianoforte to Jane Fairfax, and it’s pretty goddamn obvious that it was Frank Churchill. Although, it’s possible that it was George Knightley, who’s been matched to her by Mrs. Weston.
Tumblr media
And it’s at this point that I should point out that GODDAMN THIS IS A SOAP-OPERA OF A MOVIE. The hyper-detailed intentions and events, all happening within the confines of high society and etiquette are both overly intricate, while also managing to be...weirdly enrapturing.
The next morning, after a six-week absence, Elton’s come back to town with brand new wife, Augusta Elton (Tanya Reynolds) in tow. Augusta matches Emma’s passive-aggressiveness measure-for-goddamn-measure, which, yeah, PISSES EMMA OFF.
Tumblr media
But it’s still good news on the horizon, as Frank’s appearance has prompted the Westons to hold a ball. While Emma and Frank seem to be getting along, Elton is prevented to opportunity to dance with Harriet, only to refuse LIKE AN ABSOLUTE TAINT. On the verge of tears, Harriet’s rescued by George, and they dance alongside the rest of the partygoers.
Emma shows his appreciation for this, and Knightley returns his appreciation for her friendship with Harriet, who’s way goddamn better than Augusta. The two decide to dance together, and the two basically fall in love RIGHT GODDAMN THERE AND I AM GODDAMN HERE FOR IT.
Tumblr media
Which sucks, because I’m, what, a little more than halfway in? No way it’s this easy.
Tumblr media
And as Knightley and Emma realize their feelings the next day, they actually run towards each other, SEE each other...and then get iterrupted by Frank carrying Harriet post-her being attacked by muggers GOD FUCKING DAMMIT REALLY?
Plus, it looks like Harriet might be in love with Knightley now, after the previous night. HowEVER, since the previous night, Emma is now in love with Knightley, and believes that Harriet’s feelings are directed towards her rescuer, Frank Churchill. But Frank’s in love with Jane. Like, for sure he’s in love with Jane. And Knightley’s in love with Emma, although Mrs. Weston believes that he’s in love with ane, as he leant her his chariot the previous night, although he DIDN’T do that, and the chariot (and piano) must’ve come from Frank, who’s actually in love with her, not Harriet, as Emma believes. YOU GOT THAT? BECAUSE I’M ASTONISHED THAT I DO
Tumblr media
Summer comes, and there seemingly no major changes to the love lives of our main characters. Can’t say that for George’s mansion, as he’s unveiled all of the paintings in the place.
Tumblr media
Might be wrong about the progression of relationship thing, as George and Harriet appear to be getting along, and Emma and George suddenly...aren’t. And THEN, Jane tells Ema that she’s feeling super down at the moment, and leaves. Which is when Frank shows up, which Emma appears to not be super happy about.
Later, at a luncheon, Emma takes out her emotions upon Miss Bates who, while kind of annoying during the film, doesn’t deserve the insult lobbied her way by Emma. Afterwards, George DESTROYS her, and she...she gets it. She’s been an asshole.
Tumblr media
After a good cry, she goes to apologize to Miss Bates, who immediately forgives her, as she tends to do. It’s also pretty quickly revealed after that that we find out that Frank has ALWAYS been engaged to Jane, since he arrived to Highbury. AND, Emma finally findss out that Harriet’s in love with George, not Frank. Which...yeah, Emma’s not a huge fan of, for obvious reasons.
However, Emma points out that George might have been trying to get Harriet involved with Mr. Martin, but also tries to step back. However, Harriet RIGHTLY calls her out this time, bringing up the fact that Emma fancies George, and that it’s because of Emma that she refused Mr. Martin. And Emma finally gets it. ALL of it.
Tumblr media
George, hearing of Frank’s engagement, goes to comfort Emma in her time of distress. And after railing out Frank for his lying ass, he starts to confess his true feelings to Emma. But she tries to stop him, but THERE AIN’T NO STOPPIN’ LOVE BABY
And as he STRAIGHT-UP PROPOSES to her...her nose bleeds and she says no.
Tumblr media
Finally, it’s confirmed that George was speaking on Mr. Matin’s behalf, not his own, and Emma pledges to make things right herself. She delivers the painting of Harriet to Mr. Martin, and he proposes to her. Harriet accepts, and has also finally heard from her father, who isn’t a nobleman at all, but a shoemaker. Emma still invites them over to their estate, and the two make up as friends.
Tumblr media
And speaking of making up, George and Emma also make up, and the two are officially engaged to be wed. And it’s honestly...quite lovely. Which describes the whole film, which comes to a close.
Tumblr media

why rayllum is a MASTERPIECE part 3
*RUBS MY CLAWS TOGETHER* IT IS SEASON 3 TIME BITCHES AND H O L Y S H I T I LOVE THIS SEASON SO MUCH
i even rewatched it for this!
this time i’ll try to have SOME order, and go by episode. this will however still include unintelligible screaming
1. DAMN THESE FUCKERS BE PINING MORE THAN A PINE TREE FOREST!
first off, affectionate eye rolling, nose boop, and head bonk is the best thing.
second, IF SOMEONE SAYS THAT DURING WHEN CALLUM WAS HELPING RAYLA PUT ON HIS SCARF AND THEY J STARED AT EACHOTHER FOR A BIT BEFORE RAYLA TURNED AWAY THAT HE WAS N O T LOST IN HER EYES? they’re wrong. this is fact now.
third, their teamwork and decision making is excellent. they agree to try and sneak past sol regem, and when that fails try talking to him and then decide to simply trick his senses with the scarf. and instead of rayla shooting down callum’s “smelltriloquism” idea, she simply adds onto it! LOVE HEALTHY FRIENDSHIPS
“i think it’s good luck!” YES IT IS RAY THAT’S UR BOYFRIENDS SCARF
also, here you go. you’re welcome.
Tumblr media
2. STILL PINING. GOD DAMN.
first, CALLUM BEING SO EXCITED BY ALL THE MAGIC IN XADIA IS S O CUTE! MY SON. this might turn into an overrall review of s3. o well
second. FLUSTERED RAYLA AND FLUSTERED CALLUM. Y E S
third, THE ADORABURR FIELD! their smiles were so fond and soft and A. they make me cry of joy.
an overall look on it, i like how this episode really shows their feelings clearly. no “will they won’t they”, at least for rayla. it’s clear she has feelings.
3. AH FUCK. ANGST.
first i love how when rayla mentions that she’s excited and happy but also terrified, callum tries to comfort her. good boi. best boi.
second, elf callum. i love that scene so much even if the second-hand embarrassment kills me, and rayla is j like “why the fuck do i love you. im gonna kill him.”
third, DANCE! callum not being rude and saying her home is “modest” before rayla explains it’s an illusion, his BLUSH WHEN SHE HELPS HIM, and the softness in general. rayla’s excitement that she’s home and talks abt that she can show callum where she went to school, the best moonberry surprise place, until...
fourth, AH FUCK. A N G S T T I M E. rayla being crest-fallen before callum says that it must’ve been a mistake, and she realizes that ethari would probably understand!
and then CONFIRMED GAYS. YES.
rayla realizing ethari ghosted her too and then callum GOING O F F. he angy and when rayla runs out callum IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWS (like in a later episode) and comforts her again.
when ethari comes down and breaks the spell and says to callum “trees to meet you too” and rayla’s like “don’t encourage him”
also callum trying to get on the shadowpaw and ethari being Concerned is AMAZING. concerned dad content
i’ll talk more about ezran/ruthari/the dark magic trio in a later ted talk
4. H E R E W E G O
first, rayla clearly being sad and callum picking up on that quickly (he even seems to be almost falling on purpose, perhaps to make her smile?) and asking if she’s ok before being shot down by rayla insisting she is fine. GOD DAMN. THAT HURTS.
second, their interaction with nyx is so amazing. rayla being protective of zym and callum being a DORK is awesome, but also their decision making.
after rayla reluctantly decides that they can go see how nyx could get them across the desert so quickly, they see the ambler and then their reasoning is amazing.
“what do you think?”
“the dragon queen is dying.” and then i forget the rest of the exact quote but they give a subtle nod to eachother. they make their decisions TOGETHER. AS A TEAM. AND THAT’S ON HEALTHY FRIENDSHIPS X2!
third, callum continuing to gently press for rayla to express her emotions. he doesn’t pressure her, but seems to simply let her know that if she needs to talk (when she insists she’s fine), he is there.
four, MORE FLUSTERED RAYLLUM. YES. TY NYX but also fuck u for taking zym but also ur hot- A N Y W A Y
five. OOOOOOH. MY FAVORITE SCENE.
rayla’s crying and callum tries to reassure her. nyx is plotting, while rayla runs away and callum follows. Y E S.
rayla talks about how there’s nobody left that cares about her and she lost everything.. and then the SPEECH. i have this speech memorized i’ve watched this scene so many times
"JUST SHUT UP, YOU'RE TALKING CRAZY. JUST, LISTEN TO ME. YOU'RE TOO GOOD TO FEEL THIS BAD ABOUT YOURSELF. I KNOW THAT, AND YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT. YOU HAVE TRUE COURAGE, AND A BIG HEART! I'VE SEEN YOU GET KNOCKED DOWN SO MANY TIMES AND EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. YOU GET UP AGAIN. THAT'S REAL STRENGTH. AND.. AND YOU'RE TEN TIMES FUNNIER THAN ANY HUMAN I KNOW! chuckle SEE? SEE YOU KNOW YOU'RE AMAZING. YOU'RE SMART AND FAST AND BEAUTIFUL. RAYLA YOU'RE THE MOST AMAZING PERSON I'VE EVER MET."
Tumblr media
LOVE THEMMM
and then rayla kisses him and that’s all that happened. callum was not a dumbass. right? RIGHT???
5. MY FAVORITE EPISODE!
first, rayla saving callum from the soulfang serpents and callum helping her get up is AMAZING, LOVE THAT.
second, callum tryna get a good position and rayla j saying to hold onto her and callum GETTING FLUSTERED. BOY IS PINING also he didn’t have to hold her that close.
“I DON’T THINK OF HER THAT WAY” “YOU AND I DON’T HAVE THAT YET” LIAR.
three, THEM JUMPING OFF THE AMBLER AND. THAT WHOLE MOMENT? THE ROMANTIC TENSION IS KILLING ME
four. DAMN CALLUM RLLY DO BE HAVING HEART EYES @ RAYLA WHILE SHE KILLS LIKE 80 SOULFANGS HE IS PINING PART 2
five. THE SPEECH. THE SOFTNESS. THE KISSES. GOD DAMN. FAVORITE SCENE OUT OF THE ENTIRETY OF TDP. LOVE THEM.
also here you go again
Tumblr media
what can i say except YOU’RE WELCOME
6. ANGST BUT ALSO FLUFF ALSO REUNION
once again won’t b talking abt ezran specifically but there’s some passing mentions of him from now on
first, rayla and callum reaching the stone thunder and callum asking “is it... a statue?” and rayla sadly saying “no. it’s not a statue” A. I CRI.
1.5 ayla and callum best dragon parents
i’ll get to an actual analysis later
second, THIS MOMENT IS UNDERRATED EVEN THO IT’S ONE OF MY FAVS why has nobody mentioned the lil tender moment where ezran is by phoe-phoe and rayla puts her hand on callum’s shoulder AND CALLUM PUTS HIS HAND ON HERS. SO SWEET.
third, OK I’LL STOP MOST OF MY UNINTELLIGIBLE SHRIEKS AND ACTUALLY ANALYZE THIS.
callum is upset because of thunder and rayla sympathizes immediately. this is similar to how callum lets rayla let out her own emotions, and rayla is doing the same. he explains how he feels angry, upset, confused, sad, and rayla quickly empathizes. he keeps on venting, not knowing whether to feel regretful, or glad, and how he’s confused because that’s sarai’s spear. he feels sorry that all this happened, but rayla reassures him that zym and ezran are going to break the cycle! that’s hope! and then they hold hands and i screech
AND THAT’S SO FUCKING HEALTHY AND I LOVE IT. THEY RLLY BREAK ALL BAD HET RELATIONSHIP STEREOTYPES (coughbutistillheadcanonthembothasbiandcallumistransilldieonthishillcough)
7. angst but not rayllum angst so its ok
first, they begin to go up the storm spire and i really love their banter. “and i’m guessing the dragon queen didn’t make her den at a nice, halfway kinda place?” “nope. tiptop!”
cuties.
second, ASSDHFNF THE FACT THEY M O C K THE IDEA OF A FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIP. THEY’RE IN LOVE AND THE WORLD CAN DEAL WITH IT. LOVE THAT FOR THEM
third, RAYLA CATCHING CALLUM. IT’S. NOT RLLY BIG I JUST LIKE IT AND THINK IT’S CUTE HOW EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS ALSO OUT OF BREATH SHE RAN UP TO CATCH HIM.
four, AHSDHGDHFG THEY DEADASS FORGOT EZRAN WAS THERE. more flustered rayllum i love that
8. FUCK IT’S RAYLLUM ANGST NOOOO
one, ibis is j a good boi. back to rayla and callum
two, rayla going in to see the dragon queen and when she runs out callum QUICKLY FOLLOWS to see if she’s ok. asks her if she’s ok, and she OPENS UP!! CHARACTER GROWTH BABY!!! and then they hold hands and i once again shriek
three, AH. HELLO ANGST.
before we go to the actual angst, can i say that THE LAUGH AFTER RAYLA SAID “STORM SNEEZE” IS SO CUTE. CALLUMS IN LOVE. MY SON.
oh no.
*bonks rayla on the head* nO SELF SACRIFICING!!
although their fight is super angsty and i hate it, it does provide some conflict and more plot because it gives callum a reason to want to find out the truth about rayla’s parents. and then he does! people argue that this fight was unnecessary or that callum was a jerk, but this was needed i think. he did let his worry become a bit of anger, and that was not a nice move, but he knows he fucked up and fixes it!
and then we get soft rayllum this is fine
9. AND YOU THOUGHT LAST EPISODE WAS BAD N O *CRYING*
there’s not much rayllum featured in this ep, but the amount we do get is 80 PERCENT ANGST AND I WASN’T OK WITH IT
first, the fluff! callum trying to do the wing spell and rayla teasing “did you pull a muscle in the middle of a jumping jack?” is so cute. i LOVE THEM. also they hold hands and i SH RIEK again.
also soren how dare you interrupt callum he was abt to confess
second, callum when he’s explaining the battle plan and his ZAP HAND. rayla is j watching him like “yep. that is my dork.”
and CALLUM SEEMS SO FOND WHEN JANAI CALLS RAYLA THE LAST DRAGONGUARD. PERHAPS I SOB
skipping forward in time a bit for the angst oh no
third, callum going up to the storm spire after ez encouraging him to go to rayla. love that soft brotherly relationship. and we think “oh, soft rayllum, right?”
NO. VIREN’S UP THERE.
fourth, THEY DIDN’T NEED ME TO BE ROLLING ON THE FLOOR WTF. the fact that rayla’s blade went right in front of callum and he looks up and sees zym in danger, viren is there, and RAYLA is there, p a n i k.
and then rayla jumps and the entire rayllum fandom SC REAMS after callum’s “no!” before she jumps and “no, no, no, RAYLA!”
fifth, CALLUM NO WHY ARE YOU JUMPING TOO- oh wait its ok he did the wings and im still crying fuck
THAT CONFESSION THO- i cri tears of joy now. they’re in love
sixth, I J WANNA KNOW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE EZRAN SHOWED UP. like it’s clear that they’re talking or something, but abt what is the question. also yes they hug and raylas fond
seventh, THEY HOLD HANDS!! soft bbs,,,
AAAND IM DONE! this is. quite long so if you read all of this i hope u have a good day and thnx for listening to me ramble with some coherent thoughts

Thoughts About Renegades Pt.2
I’m about to kick myself out of this fandom: A sequel afgshjavsbn
I’m sorry :’) These are, again, some thoughts I decided to write down in case somebody else feels the same way.
This is the link for the first part: https://dawniebb.tumblr.com/post/614167998575624192/thoughts-about-renegades
-Listen. I always fall in love with the shittiest characters possible (Looking at you, freaking Heather Duke afvsghavs) so Genissa had it *all* on her side. And yet, she was too much even for me :). Still, I had hope. I was open for possibilities for like... three chapters or so bc she's *that* annoying :) Again: This is coming from someone who likes entitled bitches full of themselves like her. When I finally gave up, I just wanted her to die but a part of me knew that wouldn't happen bc Pearl is The Lunar Chronicles' Genissa and she's still around (living her best life. Hella rich). Then she showed up at Supernova and I knew it would be a shitshow. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED, Y'ALL. SHE REALLY PLAYED THE CLOWN...But still, even if this hurts me more than you'll even know: For like a whole page, she was right. She had solid, strong arguments, bc she just said out loud what Nova was trying to say back in Archenemies when nobody would let her finish her fucking sentences. So, yeah, when Genissa said everything Nova was trying to say at the Council's face, she was absolutely fucking right and every single one of the Council members were acting like tyrant brats, so they had it coming lol
-Still, I don't think this means Genissa suddenly turned into a likable character, nor a redeemable one whatsoever. Fine. She was right for a while bc she said everything Nova was trying to say, but she didn't do it bc she was concerned about the situation. She didn't really care about what could happen to other prodigies. She didn't care about what could happen to the Renegades themselves or the Council. She only cared that it happened to her. She's the type of person with the "You won't understand it until it happens to you" type of mentality, and that's not exactly a positive personality trait. She had this "You have to do something bECAUSE IT HAPPENED TO ME.ME.ME I'M IMPORTANT" vibe. If it had happened to Callum, for example, she wouldn't have given a shit :v. But it was her, so something had to be done. She didn't learn anything from it, just the fact that she's not untouchable and anyone can be harmed by the Council's horrible decisions, even her. Hence, she didn't earn a redemption arc and, in my opinion, she did not have one :v. Her giving Adrian the Agent N doesn't mean anything either. Nova went too hard on her with her power and she was probably feeling drugged or dizzy.
-Which, at least for me, is kinda a let down because redemption for characters like her can be possible even if they've done shitty things in the past. Theseus Cassio Lowood from Anna Dressed in Blood (I'm begging you again to read Anna Dressed in Blood) was more of an entitled bitch than the actual entitled bitch of the duology (Carmel Jones) and by the end of the book we see a HUGE character growth on him.
-I want the best for Team Sketch afgbsja but if I were Danna I would hate Nova, so I guess for a while she will...and she won't be quiet about it. I'm talking about rolling her eyes up to Heaven every time Nova opens her mouth, making excuses to avoid hanging out with them if Nova is coming too. Shady stuff like that. From my experience in my first year of college, I even dare to say Danna will feel hurt when they mention anything positive about Nova (She'll feel like they're choosing Nova over her even though she's been here longer). And it's not like they'll hate each other forever and Danna will be *this* expressive about it forever, but they'll surely have to work on fixing their relationship. You can't just expect the person you locked in a mason jar to be nice to you :) that's not how we roll :)
-HOWEVER, even if I'm taking Danna's side here bc if I were her I would hate Nova too, I must admit I believe Nova lowkey has her own reasons to at least mildly dislike Danna. I mean, Danna is nicer than many people in the trilogy, but she's not the nicest person that has ever stepped on Earth (do you remember I mentioned I LOVE this type of characters?). She comes off as defensive and judgemental at times. I know she was right. I know she was smart enough to be the only one who wasn't fooled by Nova (we gay people are geniuses,y'all) but...let's picture a scenario in which she wasn't right. A scenario in which Nova happened to be just a normal girl with very strong opinions about everything. Not an Anarchist. Not Nightmare. Just a fella who enjoys being salty and fighting over politics lmao. And then there's this pal making this comments like "that's so anarchist omg pls don't you must be nightmare" and THEN she follows her all the way to her house and she's like ????? ....I mean, Danna, sweetie. I love you but pls relax, you'll hurt yourself one of these days.
-Have you ever written your opinions about Renegades and realized that everyone is so freaking morally grey??? to the point where NO ONE IS RIGHT? BUT SOMEHOW THEY'RE NOT WRONG EITHER?
-This is more a headcanon than it is an opinion: NARCISSA LIKES TO HATE-READ TRASHY YA. She doesn't even get mad at the awful plots, like, they ENTERTAIN HER. She likes to make fun and mentally roast the writer's horrible choices.
-We're going to talk about Ruby now :) brace yourselves:
-A period is blood along with other substances. However, unless she was some kind of disease, it's not a wound. It shouldn't be, at least :') So, unless I'm proven wrong, it's not her period I'm worried about at the moment, since it's mentioned the blood that crystallizes it's the one that comes out of her wounds. What I'm worried about it's pregnancy afsghavsb
First of all, I think it would be IMPOSSIBLE to her to give birth naturally, as childbirth is way more dangerous. Sometimes the deliver stage can rip up a woman's walls, which happens to be a wound. And what happens when Ruby has a bleeding wound? Her blood crystallizes. So, if the baby's head, neck, or any other part of their body is already down there, she might as well stab them to death or at least badly hurt them.
Then, a C section. A C section is basically doctors cutting layers and layers of skin until they get to the uterus. That's a profesionally done wound lmao. And unless they have some way to stop Ruby's powers from acting up, it would be impossible to get to the baby and THEN getting them out without, again, them getting stabbed to death.
-So, in conclusion, I think Oscar and Ruby would just adopt children :')

top 5 ee episodes & why?
fuck man i’ve been watching eastenders since i was a kid and there’s been soooo many iconic episodes and i cannot possibly remember them all so if you’re expecting a proper in depth answer to this i’m about to disappoint u but here it goes
in no particular order:
peggy’s suicide - literally peggy was and still is one of the biggest icons on not only on ee but on british tv in general and if it were possible i would have her running the vic until the end of time but unfortunately it’s not. like i wasn’t even watching ee when this ep aired but i watched it bc the fact that barbara windsor was coming back to reprise her roll as peggy and that peggy was going to die was genuine News in the uk and everyone and their mother tuned in to see peggy’s farewell and the fact that it was so well handled and her walking through the square reminiscing and that scene where she was in the vic and talking to mick and linda and the fact that they had pat come back to be there with her just like the entire thing was so so sad but poignant and yeah :-( i miss her :-(
hunter holding the vic at gun point - ok like obvious reasons aside the whole seige episode was so GOOD like i was so tense the entire time which is a hard thing to do!!! like i still can’t quite believe that ep was only half an hour it felt so much longer than that and yes i’m a lil biased bc ben is my fave and watching him slowly bleed to death was like hell (even tho i knew he lived) but i think even ppl who didn’t like ben Felt It. and there were just so many layers like you had the ben and callum stuff which overlapped into the callum and whitney stuff and then ofc the ben and louise and then ben and phil stuff when he come in and sonia trying to keep him alive and the hunter and mel stuff which was GOOD even tho idrc abt hunter lmao but the hunter/louise/bex stuff, the louise and lisa stuff and then those final few scenes where sonia managed to get ben breathing and then hunter shot keanu and then the police shooting hunter and sharon calling mel so she didn’t have to see and then that final ‘mummy’s got you’ scene……… academy award
bradley’s death - THIS SHIT TRAUMATIZED ME OK i loved bradley sm and i was so upset when him and stacey broke up (even tho i get it now as an adult) and then u have him falling off the fucking vic roof calling out stacey’s name…….. the whole thing was just so intense in a way u don’t really see in anymore like the drama didn’t come from the fact that it was made dramatic by the script or the acting or the music or anything like that it was dramatic bc it was fucking horrifying between all the screaming and shouting and everyone’s reactions and just yh… they dont make em like that no more!!!
janine killing barry - i don’t have a reason for this other than the fact that barry rolling down that hill sticks so fucking vividly in my mind for some reason which is twice as weird bc i must have been so young when i saw it but the fact that i remember it must mean it was Iconic and that’s reason enough for me…….. plus janine is just That Bitch tbh i want her back
this year’s pride - perhaps a little basic of me but i can’t think of any other (personally) iconic episodes rn (all i can think of is characters/storylines lmao) but! it was a fucking good ep and i saw it right as i got back into ee again and i think the different povs and experiences and the characters being at different points in their sexuality journey was so Important like between bernie experiencing her first pride (as a teen!) with all of her family supporting her and going with her and her having a good time and having her Moment and then lesbian elder tina talking abt her experiences and her first pride and guiding and encouraging bernie and then the contrast of that vs everything that callum was dealing with and going through and him (as someone who is approaching their 30s) still being in the closet and the absolute heartbreak of seeing him be SO upset because he’s physically there at pride but he’s so far away from everyone around him and their joy and freedom like he was so horribly isolated from everyone except ben and the one person he did reach out to by admitting he slept with ben he thought got it and supported him only for stuart to turn around and batter ben and i know ppl weren’t happy w that and people didn’t like it and thought it was unnecessary and inappropriate and i 100% get why but i also get why they did it bc it was a such a shock and a strike contrast to what was going on outside and was meant to drive home that yeah pride is nice and all but this is what’s still happening u know so while it was horrible i think it was deliberately that way but that’s just my opinion. plus it was just nice to have a pride-dedicated ep and have all different ppl there representing like imo they did a pretty good job with it actually lookin like a pride event so. yh lmao.
there are probably soooooo many i’m overlooking but these are the first ones that came to mind and i’m a big believer in following ur gut so! yeah!

What do you think of ben's behaviour towards martin especially when he's back for his vulnerable daughter? He's reminding me of how he behaved when he first came back, then eastenders toned it down abit but his dark side has returned again. How do you feel abit it? I know afew fans feel disappointed by how he's treating martin.
Hello Anon!
As I explained here, I kind of understand Ben doing it. Free labor, and he doesn’t have to worry about being exposed. Plus, Ben probably think it’s right. Karma is a bitch. The thing with the bridge when they were younger and the thing with the wrench. I think in Ben’s twisted mind it’s all fair and understandable.
Do I approve of it? Absolutely not.
First of all, exactly, the daughter. I know Ben doesn’t mean any harm towards Bex, but he’s being awful putting her father through all of that. Especially since he’s father of a daughter himself. And he came to adore Lexi, to love her the most in the whole world. I remember how pissed he was when Phil interfered with his time with Lexi being like “you have to do this work for me and I don’t care you’d prefer to spend time with your daughter instead.” And right now Ben does the same thing to Martin but is ten thousand worse.
Second of all, I think in all of that he’s too hard on him. Even if he wanted to blackmail him into that, he could cut him some slack. But making a scene about that granny? Ffs, Ben, you got your money, why do you care how exactly? If Martin wants to empty his pockets just let him and call it a day. And him being inconsiderate towards the situation with Bex... I think one money collecting could wait for an hour or two. Ben is not only blackmailing Martin, he’s taking some kind of emotional revenge and it‘s so psychologically dark.
And I absolutely agree with you. I also have this feeling as if they made him really dark back in April when he came back, then tried to somehow redeem him, and now they’re slowly but surely coming back to this darkness. The thing is - I love it. Ben is wonderfully complex character and it’s interesting to watch him kind of struggling between good and bad right now. Between this dark side, all these dodgy and doubly moral stuff, desperately trying to be the toughest man not to be messed with, trying to surpass his father, and this light side, the one we can see in his interactions with Lexi or Callum or Bobby or Lola, in his occasional uncertainty like when he wanted to get rid of the wrench. And I believe one day Ben’s going to get rid of this dark side. Max hinted it already, but even recently we can see Ben getting better. For Callum. Because of Callum. Even him wanting to check on Whitney, it’s small but significant.
To make the story short - I do understand Ben’s motives and I know where it all comes from, but I also think Ben’s going too far and it upsets me. Plus, it’s obviously immoral but well, it’s like I expect Ben of all people to be perfect moral. He has it tough and it obviously messed him up significantly. But I do believe his character’s going in this less dark direction, slowly but surely.
Thank you for your ask! Not sure if I said anything that wasn’t said before tho. Have a nice day/night!

Free rein season 3
Finally going to write my (no so) mini review.
This was the worst season so far.
Free rein is not a "good" show, it has never been and will never be. It is, however, a very cute and nice show that I love to watch with my mom.
But the characters this season? A MESS.
In simple terms:
- Zoe: OMGGGGG don't make me talk about it!!! Hate her the whole timeeeee. She was so annoying, are you kidding me?
- Gabby: I am really pissed they took all her development away. I was excited at the beginning for the "finding-her-horse" storyline for her but they took it in a completely different direction and she was UNBERABLE. Also, after stealing Zoe's routine she never really had a redemption? Like? She said sorry and then proceed to take the spot on the team anywayyyyy? Well ok
- Mia: her character is always a mess. The writers are never constant on her development and that frustrates me. However, I really enjoyed the "afraid-of-horses" storyline and, although I am still not sure I like her character, the end they gave her on this season was really good. Hope they keep it like that for the next one.
- Marcus: it's there anything worst than "good-girl-likes-bad-guy-who-changes-for-her" cliché? Yes, the "golden-boy-loves-the-diva-that-treats-him-like-shit" cliché. Can they give him a deeper storyline pls? Literally the only story they gave him this season.
- Pin: he's my baby and love of my life and will always be but that "he is changing, he isn't the same" shit was so?????? Everyone was pushing him to be The Duke™ then got mad at him for being The Duke™ but all he ever wanted was to help the horses anyway.
- Jade: She was actually my fav character this season!!!!!!! I am so incredibly happy she actually had a storyline this time!! And she's also like the smartest bitch of the island!!! Queen
- Becky: she was one of my favorite characters this season too. She finally stopped just being the comic relief and had a more mature storyline without losing her childish personality. Loved it. The way she cared for the kids? Loved her.
- The kids: I miss Rosie SO MUCHHH but those kids were one of the best this season too. Each of them had their time to shine and each of them overcame a fear/obstacle. Cutest.
Now, the thing I always care about the most: Zoe and Pin's relationship.
I am glad that they finally gave us some boyfriend and girlfriend scenes this season, bc before it seems like they forgot they were together at all. They didn't get a lot of development on this season tho, but honestly Zoe was being SO annoying this season I am not even sure if I want them together anymore.
Finally, the season finale:
The last episode was DEFINITELY the best of the whole season. It was almost perfect...untill the very end. When everything was finally good, everybody get what they deserve (kinda) and everyone is happy well, guess what? She could or could not move back to US!! :))) Great. If they don't do another season I am gonna act as if that letter never existed and that's it.
One more thing: CALLUM FUCKING SUCKSSSSSS and I was so glad the butler wasn't the bad guy! That would had been so so so so basic.
(also I have TV time where you can see my comments on each episode lol it's Inhellwithbands)

Dragonic Musings: A Squiggle Meister’s Blunt Ramblings about The Dragon Prince S2.
Tumblr media
So I just wrapped up watching S2 of The Dragon Prince and I’m going to be blunt:
///SPOILERS FOR THE DRAGON PRINCE S2 AHEAD///
#1: How is it that this series is able to fit so much into just 9 episodes without feeling rushed? It tells a lot needed for the season but still leaves enough to keep me wanting more episodes. The writing in this series is sooo good.
#2: Queen Anya, you go girl! I actually clapped for this character. This girl don’t play. Your queen mommas didn’t birth no fool. I also loved how they handled the backstory about the three queens; three mothers who went down as legends fighting to aid their kingdoms and their people. I don’t know how the LGBT community is going to react to TDP’s representation with the two queens. The last time we got a Netflix series created by people who originally worked on A:TLA and had same-sex lovers who died, it wasn’t well-received. So for what it’s worth, I hope there wasn’t any backlash of any kind.
The Dragon Prince thus far has been really good with handling its diverse cast of characters and the storytelling for this show is as sweet as a jumbo jelly tart. It’s that good. At least to me.
Tumblr media
#3: Whoever creates the artwork used in the credits for The Dragon Prince---I love you. I mean, the whole production team at Wonderstorm and cast of this series has my love but I wanted to spot light the credits artist because I love how TDP adds a little something extra in the credits.
Tumblr media
#4:  Can someone please free the precious Strawberry Boi? His captivity for S1 was cute but now in S2, he needs to be set free. Free him.
#5: Speaking of Strawberry Boy, dear The Dragon Prince, how many husbandos are you going to keep giving me? I mean you already gave me Runaan, Strawberry Boy, Ezran’s new smexilious bodyguard---a beautiful chocolate man, yes. Loving all these wonderful flavours of husbandos that TDP is spoiling me with, yes and yes. But I already had my hands full with the beautiful husbandos we got from Book 1. Now after Book 2, there is Aaravos and might I say…HOT DIGGITY GIGGITY DAMN! Aaravos, you can whisper in my ear through a magical purple worm headset any day. It’s bad enough that he’s another sexy elf husbando (why) but his voice---oh my stars, his voice. His voice slicker than melted caramel drizzling on ice-cream. I should not like this man…but I do. I GIGGITY DIGGITY DIG THIS DUDE! How can one so evil be so fine? Why you do this to me, TDP?
Tumblr media
#6: All things considered, I’m happy to see that Viren has found himself a new man after King Harrow. Good for you! Not good for everybody else but good for you Viren.
#7: Claudia, Claudia, Claudia…I do not hate this girl. As a Rayllum shipper, I understand that Claudia is a thorn in my ship however, that being said, I don’t hate Claudia. As a matter of fact, I want nothing but happiness for my lil witchy girl. I see her going down a dark path that I do not like. No Claudia, you too dorky and pure for the dark side girl. Don’t be like your daddy!  I would say Soren needs to save his sister but he need saving too. They both need saving. Can someone adopt these two, please? Can someone GOOD adopt them? I want Claudia and Soren to abandon their dad and just go on their own journey to find their mother. Can that be their story for S3 please? Can we just have Claudia and Soren go find their mother, please. I’m worried for Claudia. She straight up Bambi’s mother that poor deer with magic. Yes she did it to help her brother but, this left me curious about something.
What if, Soren’s rehabilitation is only temporary? What if Claudia will have to keep stealing magic from living things to keep her brother from returning to his own paralysis while damning herself in the process? While that would be good for developing Claudia and Soren’s bond, I don’t want to see this because…I don’t want to see Claudia fall into the same path as her father. However…I think that’s what is being set up and I am worried. My dorky villainous children!
#8: I liked how they handled explaining death to children. That was great how they made that nice parallel between King Harrow telling Callum about his mom and Callum essentially trying to tell Ez about his father. I don’t think Harrow is dead though. His soul is in the green bird isn’t he? The same green bird that got away and will probably meet up with Ez in S3. Cannot wait.
#9: I felt a little bad for Bait this season. It looked almost as if Ezran had replaced him with Zym. It wasn’t like that at all since Ez was only trying to raise Zym. But at least we got to see Bait bond with Callum. That was sweet.
#10: Zym and Ez share a psychic link?! What the what? Okay, we going full Eragon up in this bitch. Okay. I dig it. It’s a way to keep Ez connected to Zym and essentially Callum and Rayla.
#11: As sad as I am to see Ezran go. As much as I’m sad to see the dream team---the dragonic trio split, my pathetic giant Rayllum shipping heart is performing cartwheels and summersaults right now.
Rayla and Callum are going to be travelling alone together (with Zym) for a whole season eh? How perfect ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Especially after that little confession moment from Rayla with Callum. I’m loving where this is going. I’m loving where they’re taking Rayla in terms of her growing ties to Callum. I’m just waiting for our dear boy to catch up.
Tumblr media
According to Callum in C2 (I think), he and Rayla aren’t there yet. But fear not, I’m a patient shipper so I shall wait. But boy did I enjoy those little Rayllum breadcrumbs. They be delicious. I ate good for this season. RWBY take notes for RoseGarden.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But yeah, I think that’s it for my thoughts on TDP S2. I enjoyed this season. I had planned on watching it half and half but as soon as I got through the first 4-5 episodes, I couldn’t put it down. I ended up watching the full 9 in one sitting this morning.
To my friends who told me I would love S2, you were right. I did. I am looking forward to seeing how far this story goes. More and more layers to the world of TDP is being brought in and I’m interested to see where it will take the fans. I hope there is going to be a S3 and I hope that it will be a routine where we get a new season once every year. But we’ll see.
Overall, I can’t wait.

EEEY, WELCOME TO THE FAM! How about some Fellowship of the egg Headcannons?
-AN- This was written during season 1 and part of 2, the characters have evolved since then but I’m going to leave the post up!
Heyo!!!
Since you didn’t specify relationship hcs I went ahead and did just normal ones, hope that’s okayyyyyyy
-HCs for the Fellowship of the Egg-
Ezran-
His favorite animals to talk to are birds, or anything that can fly. He loves the stories they tell about the places they’ve seen. (Bait is still his favorite animal over all though)
Persimmon is his favorite fruit, put it in a tart and he goes hog wild.
Not really at the phase where you would start to notice girls or boys yet.
Hates to comb his hair but loves baths because he gets to play with Bait in the tub.
Doesn’t want to fight.
He’s without a doubt the most empathetic of the trio.
Honestly way too emotionally mature for his age smh
He’s still full of childish wonder.
While he is a kid he isn’t dumb, he knows they’re in danger and he knows what they’re doing is important.
If he doesn’t become king at the end of all of this I will riot
On some level he knows that Callum doesn’t view the king as his real dad, and it hurts
Callum-
Bundle of anxiety
the mom friend
He will always wake up with a cowlick, no matter what he does.
Insanely hygienic, not the same thing as being neat, not by a long shot.
It’s killing him that he hasn’t had a chance to change out of his clothes yet.
He’s a pubescent boy so he’s constantly aware of his appearance
This whole adventure has been traumatic for him but it’s also been a learning experience.
He’s more confident now, being a mage really boosted his ego (in a good way)
Still head over heels for Claudia even after she tried to hurt Rayla.
Hey, she was his first crush, what can ya do?
Deep down he still has some worries and unsavory feelings
Are they really doing the right thing?
How are they going to cross the boarder?
How are they going to survive?
Finally, and he’ll never admit it, but he’s secretly jealous of Ezran. Of the attention their mother gave him and the respect he gets as the actual blood prince.
Rayla
Resting bitch face
Looks like she has it all together but doesn’t.
Really wants to go home, being around all these humans is giving her anxiety.
She was the most promising of the Moonshadow elves but didn’t think of herself as being better than the others at all.
Secretly thinks Bait is cute.
She grew up in a torn world and is still struggling to trust her human companions.
Ezran is 100% her favorite.
Still hates Persimmon. Moonberries ftw.
Runaan is the one who taught her how to braid her hair
She’s still waiting for her horns to grow longer like his.
Torn between wanting a pixie cut and growing her hair out like Runaan’s
Still feels incredibly guilty about leaving her team. Thinks about what could have happened to them every day.

Dear Diary, its been a moment
Let’s talk about my week shall we....
Hello old friend, I hope you’re doing well. Me? I could be better these last few weeks have been some of the worst my life but also some of the best times iv’e had this week. A lot of things have happened this week, to be completely honest I dot know where to start.
Let’s start with today. Today, I went to meet this guy, he’s called Callum, i’ve known him for quite a long time however we never spoke… like ever, the only reason I knew him was through a girl I was friends with. They went out together a long time ago and when I was friends with the girl they were going out so I had only really seen him if I had met her outside of school and they were together. I don't know why that was so hard for me to say, basically I knew him through an old friend because they went out. Okay good we have got that awful explanation out the way. Back to my point it was a few months ago that some how we had connected on facebook and we started talking. We had spoken a lot about his past, which I won’t go into thats his business, but I really got on with him. So today was the first time that we had met together one on one, and I really enjoyed myself. I'm an extremely nervous person when I first meet someone alone for the first time, but when I met up with him and as soon as I saw him I just felt so comfortable and honestly it was a lovely feeling. Me and Callum met in town I had drove to my aunties, I assumed he had got the bus into town and we had met outside the old church, I always joke how it would fall down I entered it started because my auntie would always say it to me and I found it really funny, back to Callum. We met outside the church and he was talking to this gentle man about Leamington (a neighbouring city) I didn’t really listen the conversation, didn’t want to be that person who eavesdrops. So when he is finished he started talking to me about where we were going to eat and how he had worked there and at the shop on the corner and the place just before it. When we got to playwrights (where we were eating and where he used to work) we sat down on the couches and waited for a table and he was talking about everything that was going on in his life and his music gigging bands etc. and how he had made these drums out of an odd thing and how he was really proud of doing it and it was the cutest thing ever! We got our table and sat down, opposite each other it just felt right. When I talk to someone I dont like to look them in the eye because it makes me feel comfortable but the whole time we were talking to someone I was looking at him in the eye and him me and it was just such a strange feeling for me to not feel uncomfortable, but I liked it. As we were talking he just made me feel like he actually cared. We had our food we talked for a good hour or two and then we had to go because he had band rehearsals and that was that! That was the first time meeting Callum one on one, and I really enjoyed myself. He wouldn’t let me pay tho, I said I was paying next time.
Whilst we are on the topic of boys I’ll just update you since the last time we spoke, I haven’t really spoken to “him” I dont remember if I used his name, but I haven’t really spoke to him as he’s been busy with his jobs flying all over the world lol, he is currently at the time of me writing this on a cruise in the… Caribbean, I think. But yes I hope me and him get to meet up again it would be nice to seen him.
Right then, let’s start at last Saturday, so I took the weekend off because it was my birthday on the Sunday so the saturday I had completely free apart from a halloween party I was going to in the evening. It was a friend of a friends and I had been invited mdi was going with another friend. So I pick my friend up, I go and get something to eat and drop her at her boyfriends as she had forgotten something. As we are driving to the party we get to a junction where there are two lanes, one to turn left and one to go straight on, I say to my friend how I hate the junction as we pull up in the lane to go straight on. A car pulls up next to me with their indicator on to go left, so naturally I assume they are going left the lights change to green and we go so I go straight on and so does this car so they end up hitting the side of my car and damaging the paint work of the passenger door (and possibly denting it) so at this point I'm like what is going on so I know that I cant stop in the junction so I drive on and there is a car behind and then the car that collided with me behind that so I slow right down to make the car behind go round and the car I collided with his flashing me and I was already indicating to pull over, so anyways she gets out the car and I ask if she’s okay and straight of the gate she says “no you just fucking crashed into my car” as soon as she said this I was pissed but I was like you know what hun I ain’t got time for this, I give her my details she takes photos of her and my car she gets in her car and I wait for ages for her to leave and that just put me in a sour ass mood for the night.
I tried to forget it had happened for the sake of my enjoyment at the party that I was heading to, I did quite enjoy it but I just didn’t feel like I belonged, just cause I only knew 3 people there, well I knew 4 but i’ll talk about that lil bitch in a minute. But me and my friends had sat in the kitchen cause they were paying a drinking game and I dont drink, I couldn’t drink cause I was driving but I dont drink anyway and my friends weren’t drinking cause they had work the next day so it was pointless joining in with the game. We spent a good 3/4 hours at the party and there was a girl there that me and my friend knew from school and she wasn’t the nicest of people to my friend but me and this girl got on fairly well, the WHOLE time we were there she completely ignored us everyone else said hi asked how we were etc she even looked directly at us and didn’t say a word, I mean how rude. It made me laugh when she looked at us cause me and my friend looked at each other like wtf was that about.
The next day, on my 21st birthday I spend 3 hours on the phone to the my car insurance people about the car I spoke to 3 different people and two of them said that I would have to pay the full excess and then one said I would only have to pay what it would cost, I got the bill the other day and I didn’t have to pay my full excess, only what it cost. But other than that I had a nice birthday, when my friends had finished work al three of us when out for ice cream at place called sprinkles that I'd never been to and I found my favourite smoothie of all time, I don’t remember the name but the flavours were peach, passion fruit and mango, it was gorgeous!
Lets backtrack, the Friday before the halloween party I had my hair bleached and dyed grey and for the longest time I've wanted to have grey hair I think its just cause its a colour that I've never had before. I did it for the halloween party for the character that I went as. I just love having a different colour hair to my natural colour I just think its so cool how within 2 hours I can go from having dark blond/ light brown hair to bleach blond hair… it is surreal to me, the hairdresser also found out about my instagram and the makeup I do cause I was editing one of the photos for it and she said how cool it was and asked me about it which was nice.
Now we are jumping back to recent events, on Thursday I go out shopping and I had a text from my mother saying that the washing machine was leaking, (the pipe at the back where the waste water goes). So when I gets home and have something to eat I go to sort it out… the last time it was easy we just used the plunger in the sink and managed to push the blockage out, however this time the washing machine wouldn’t drain and the sink would where as last time nothing would drain at all, so it was really odd! So we took basically all the pipes out I had to cut the back of the cupboard to get to the pipes to take them out and the blockage turned out to be after the sink and was the dishwasher so I still don’t understand how the sink was draining but the washing machine wasn’t… either way we sorted it out and its been fine since, thats 3 different times i’ve had to sort a blockage out… I'm basically a plumber.
Rewinding back to last Tuesday. Monday was my aunties birthday and her niece had been texting me all week about taking her out for her birthday for afternoon tea, and it was going to be a surprise and I kept my end of the bargain but in my birthday card that she had sent me she had said that my birthday present was also afternoon tea, which we agreed (she didn’t know what to get me cause I've got everything I want), and when I was leaving my aunties on the Sunday of my birthday I had forgot to take that card the ONE card that I should have made sure had, I forgot. So I get home and I have a txt off my auntie saying about how her niece was taking me out for afternoon tea so I had to come clean and tell her but I made sure that she knew that she had to act like it was a surprise in a way I'm glad that she found out cause it took a lot of pressure off of the day and she was able to get ready the way she would have wanted to go somewhere nice. They come they surprise her its all fun.
When we get to the place where we were having afternoon tea we get seated in the conservatory and we had a view the garden which have a river running through and a small bridge over the river in the summer it would be absolutely ideal for a wedding it was really quite lovely. When the food come there was an assortment of cakes, we all got a choice of one sandwich (they give you like 4 mini sandwiches of that type) so we all chose different ones so that we could try them all, I had chosen the ham and English mustard, it was delightful! I also tried a beef with horseradish sauce, I had never tried horseradish sauce so I was unsure but I tried it and I really enjoyed it! We had out scones and cakes which were also lovely and then we sat and talked for a little bit and went home and it was a really good time I genuinely enjoyed myself, was starting after though it didn’t fill be up at all.

ARC Review: Jane of Austin by Hillary Manton Lodge
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via BloggingForBooks in exchange for an honest review. As this is an ARC copy, things that I discuss may vary and be different than in the published copy.
Tumblr media
I have given this book ☆. 300-500 pages estimated as I read it in ebook format. It belongs to the Contemporary Romance genre. WaterBrook & Multnomah published it. I would not recommend it. The synopsis reads: “Just a few years after their father’s business scandal shatters their lives, Jane and Celia Woodward find themselves forced out of their San Francisco tea shop. The last thing Jane wants is to leave their beloved shop on Valencia Street, but when Celia insists on a move to Austin, Texas, the sisters pack up their kid sister Margot and Jane’s tea plants, determined to start over yet again.
But life in Austin isn’t all sweet tea and breakfast tacos. Their unusual living situation is challenging and unspoken words begin to fester between Jane and Celia. When Jane meets and falls for up-and-coming musician Sean Willis, the chasm grows deeper.
While Sean seems to charm everyone in his path, one person is immune – retired Marine Captain Callum Beckett. Callum never meant to leave the military, but the twin losses of his father and his left leg have returned him to the place he least expected—Texas.
In this modern spin on the Austen classic, Sense and Sensibility, the Woodward sisters must contend with new ingredients in unfamiliar kitchens, a dash of heartbreak, and the fragile hope that maybe home isn't so far away.”
Verdict:
I noped right out of there. Uninspiring and boring and annoying lead male. Sad though because Jane and her sisters are phenomenal characters.
In short, Jane of Austin, with its witty name, is a take on all things Jane Austen, featuring three sisters, reminiscent of Sense and Sensibility. The sisters run a tea shop but when their lovely landlord dearly departs, the sisters’ lives are turned upside down and they’re forced to leave their thriving hipster business because they can’t afford the rent and forced to move to Austin where they stay in a relative’s house, for free. Eldest sister, Celia, is dumped by her boyfriend before they leave town. While the middle sister and apparently, the most vibrant of the three (mostly because she’s a caustic and a little eclectic), Jane falls in love with wannabe singer whatshisface. But of course, whatshisface is not the hero here. But instead, moody and grumpy Callum is.
But I can’t really tell you what happens next because Jane of Austin is a DNF.
Jane of Austin starts off phenomenally well and I’m sucked into the story of the three sisters even though Margot is barely a person. She’s just mentioned once or twice and seems incredibly bratty. But then, Callum is introduced and he’s the most toxic and uninspiring lead male ever.
Be ready for a rant.
[contains spoilers]
Jane of Austin starts off like one of my favourite Lifetime movies, Scents and Sensibility. Their father is a corporate crook and the sisters set out on their own, building their own lives. And I love stories about sisterhood because I myself have a sister and much of my life surrounds our relationship. Because if you can’t count on family, who can you count on? Jane dropped out of school to look after Margot because their dad is awful and Celia works her little butt off to make ends meet at their cute little tea store.
Now, sisterhood is a great premise and then throw in some boys? What could be better?
Wrong, because once men were introduced to the story, the whole shitstorm began. It became less about women’s fiction and more about, how much dick can I get? Oh, I can’t get dick? The dick left me.
A couple of pages in and Celia is already broken up with Teddy, her longtime, why-aren’t-they-married boyfriend. When she moves to Austin, she’s fucking moping around and being all shady and not talking to Jane and basically driving a wedge between them because she refuses to talk about her relationship with Teddy to her sister. Fine, my sister doesn’t really tell me about her relationships either but come on, Celia and Jane were always tight and told each other everything. Boy comes in and fucks shit up.
Now, waltzes in cowboy central. Sean Willis is as charming as they come and immediately, Jane falls head over heels for him. I sort of do as well because he’s hot, and there are minute sparks. But suddenly, they go from rescuing-me-from-the-storm to dating. There was no precursor; there was no witty repartee, no long drawn out, pretty conversations. No. She just fell for him. I felt absolutely no chemistry. It was such a painful-to-read relationship. But I digress, Sean is the “darkest before the dawn”. They breakup because Sean wants to pursue his music in Nashville. LIKE THAT’S SOMETHING TO MOPE ABOUT??????? We all want careers, honey. He isn’t going to put you and your vagina first. Were you going to put him and his dick over your tea shop? I didn’t think so. So, don’t complain.
See where Jane of Austin is going? There’s just a lot of men. Highly doubt they’d pass the Bechdel test. That’s not what Austen was about, mkay?
Fine, I can put up with all this shit.
If only the lead male that Jane is supposed to fall in love with, was spectacular and phenomenal. Let me list all the problems with Callum.
1. When Callum first meets Jane, this is what he had to say:
“She did remind me of Lila; there was no denying the resemblance. But there was something…extra…about Jane. Almost like high school Lila, but grown and in Technicolour. Was it a fair comparison? Probably not. Lila had made her decisions and suffered when the man she chose failed her.”
I absolutely hate when love interests says that he/she reminds them of an ex-lover that they lost. And Callum did lose Lila to someone else and he practically shames her for it. Like, looook, if you were with me, you’d be better off because iM pErFeCt. And high school Lila? The last time this little fucker knew his ex-girlfriend was fucking high school. Let’s take a quick reminder that Jane is no longer in high school and is 26.
2. Callum is fucking hung up on Lila. Apparently, Lila called his father’s partner looking for a job but now that Callum is back in town, Lila is missing and he can’t reach her. Maybe she doesn’t want to be found, bitch. But, he believes its his sworn duty to make sure she’s safe because why would she ask for a job if she was okay/???? So this little bitch hires a private detective to find Lila. Like he’s some kind of fucking knight in shining armour. HE HASN’T SEEN THIS WOMAN IN AGES REMIND YOU. OR HAD CONTACT WITH HER. Wtf.
But fine.
3. Now, here’s where it gets really creepy. Callum is always stalking Jane or watching her from afar like a fucking creep. Exhibit A:
“From my room upstairs, I could see the way she clutched his hand, the way her head tipped back in laughter”.
“Watching Jane, I could immediately tell that Lyndsay landed on her last nerve. But as I watched Jane’s gaze flit from Celia to Lyndsay, her brows pressing together with that Jane-like intensity, I knew the sight of trouble brewing.”
THAT MUCH DETAIL??????? Because he stalks her and watches her constantly.
4. He uses the word possession to talk about Jane.
“But she wasn’t mine. She wouldn’t be.”
“Unless she was laughing with Sean. When that happened, I felt a little sick to my stomach.”
God, this was like the last straw. I wanted to throw up. I have a history of men subjugating and “possessing” women, cue family. And this just made my fucking skin crawl. And he talks about “claiming” here.
“Not a V-E Day kiss, not now, just a small claim on the corner of her lips that twisted with rueful amusement.”
5. He immediately girlfriend-zoned Jane. From the beginning, he thought she looked like his ex-lover and when his therapist asked him if he was interested in Jane, he came up fucking blank. Like some school boy who’s never had a date.
“Are you interested in her?”
“She’s seeing someone else. It looks serious.”
He doesn’t even bother being her friend or trying to get to know her as a person. He’s just interested in her. Let me remind you that I don’t have many highlights of Jane and Callum talking because they don’t fucking talk. He could have listened to her, gained her trust instead of being her mother’s cousin’s creepy friend who stays with them. All he wanted to do is “make her yours” and Callum keeps getting frustrated that she’s with some hotshot good looking guy.
He just mopes around, lamenting about how she can’t see that he’s perfect for her and not Sean. He just wonders why she doesn’t see that he’s interested in her.
I stopped reading once all the possession and claiming talk started. It just made my skin crawl and I wanted to throw up. Let me remind you that this was more than 50% of the book. Jane and Callum have absolutely no chemistry, they barely talk, he’s like the creepy uncle who lives in the attic and he’s barely got any character.
Not to mention, Callum is differently abled and suffering from PTSD which is not the greatest subject topic to be dealing with in a ROMANCE novel. Especially one that is so poorly written.
In writing this review, I took a look at the publisher’s profile to look for approval preferences and lo and behold, this is what I found, “publishing encouraging, biblical, trusted, and thoughtful Christian books.” It’s no wonder there was barely any sex in it. Or chemistry. Unfortunately, I did not check it properly on BloggingForBooks.
Perhaps Jane of Austin would have appealed whole heartedly to the right crowd of people where they like being possessed by their boyfriends and have their lives revolve around the dick. But I certainly hated it and did not finish it. It’s even lucky to receive one star from me because I loved the sisterhood part of the book.
