Bahmut had 17 schools, 29 kindergartens, 5 colleges, 5 theaters, 12 libraries, a salt mine and the biggest underground concert hall in the world.
This city no longer exists

I'm alive for two years of this war now, thanks to Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thanks to everyone who joined, helped, and supported my country. I know we will win, but there's a lot of weird and terrifying sh*t ahead. Who knows, I may not get through it alive at the end, but if I will... Damn. That would be awesome.

“thanks” to russians there are once again long-ass blackouts in kyiv. with the sun setting at 4pm, it feels like the darkness creeps in both from the outside and from the inside, and it’s harder to not give in to the desire to sleep for 16 hours a day.
anyway here’s my blackout art from 2022
(the first one is not actually blackout; it’s spring 2022 when we were asked to light-mask in the evenings. but it does kinda have the same feel. the only bonus — when it’s not cloudy, the stars are really magnificent even in the city)

Russia is bad for the environment
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Russians always found ways to slaughter Ukrainians through the whole history. And famines were one of the most popular methods for Russia.
Please don't ignore our fighting, keep spreading our voices, and donate to our army and combat medics (savelife.in.ua, prytulafoundation.org, Serhii Sternenko, hospitallers.life, ptahy.vidchui.org, and u24.gov.ua).

The Oleksandr Koshytsia Choir, 1922. It was them who introduced “Shchedryk” to America.
Its haunting melody was later adapted into the popular “Carol of the Bells” in English, making it a Christmas classic worldwide.

"I took this photo of the Ukrainian flag which turned red and black from the blood of a Ukrainian soldier, on February 13, 2015, in the surrounded Debaltsevo.
The blood and the vest belong to my friend and countryman Serhiy "Malyok" Karpo, who comes from the village of Koroviy Yar, Lymanshchyna, Donetsk region.
One of my brothers in arms told me that I immortalized the memory of Malyok with this photo. I did what I could, Friend!
Rest in peace, the real son of Ukraine, Serhiy Karpo, on the pseudo Malyok!
We remember!
Happy Ukrainian Flag Day!…"

Have you ever seen Ukrainian Discworld books?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this time, I would like to show you what books Ukrainians read.
it was...2017 (?) when Pratchett's novels appeared in Ukrainian; in 2019, I met these books for the first time.
I am not going to comnent the design (though I love it so much, it is cute and have minor spoilers for the content), but the useful point OUGHT to be mentioned.
as you can see, at the end of the books (I think... starting in 2021, this thing appeared at the end, in 2019 it definitely didn't) there is an infographic (?) that shows the number of series of the Discworld, their sequence and not yet translated novels (they are white, although I have already seen "Small Gods"...mmm ok).
is the translation good, btw?
honestly, I was surprised it is; however, there are remarks that sometimes report the impossibility of direct translating certain Pratchett puns.
and the last...it normally costs 10 dollars (which is expensive, honestly...but buyworthy).
