As both the sister and the sorcerologist have come closer to the seenly cracked pupa the jiangshi is currently in Tessa felt such strange power not only is effecting everything but also affecting the gem in her hand. She stared at the gem at the palm of her hand, the gem is reacting towards the jiangshi and her immense power emanating through the mineral she had taken from her journey to metro city somehow, this gem from the makai realm is connected to the jiangshi within that pupa.
" Strange, why is this mineral just reacting strangely towards Hsien-Ko...? "
Tumblr media
The older sister turned around and walked over towards the sorceress examining the very same mineral within the palm of the woman's hand.
" What? What do mean connection? "
Tumblr media
" Unfortunately I don't know, but this makai stone I have taken with my journey. This power, how and why is this connected..? "
Tumblr media
In a flash the gem began to glow a bright golden glow which have set both women over the edge as the stone turned golden and sparks mystical energy from within which is something they have not expected.
" AH-! it's glowing...!! "
Tumblr media
" W-What the hell, What did you do...?! "
Tumblr media
" ME?! I HAVEN'T DONE ANY- "
Tumblr media
Suddenly interrupted out of nowhere they have appeared. The ancient makai beasts, the horrors appeared attracted by the sheer powerful energy and the scent that have belong to the shao family's remnants that still live after the disaster. One of them let out a horrific screech calling a few of it's brethren to attack and devour both Tessa and Mei-Ling.
' KRRRAAAAAAAAAASSCCH! '
Tumblr media
Mei-Ling upon witnessing a pack of them, running towards them she suddenly have begun having flashbacks of the death of their family, their mother and everyone at the village. Revealing that these ancient darkstalkers are responsible for their tragic lives. After coming back to reality, fueled by rage and bloodlust vengeance clouds her mind as she began transforming into her monstrous form where even Tessa is now more surprised.
" YOU.... "
Tumblr media
Gulp.
" Well, this is is surprising... "
Tumblr media
Mei-Ling growled in a fit of rage as both of these sides prepare to fight and kill, those horrors screeched spreading out their wings wide as they started attacking but then...
' KRRRAAASSCH!! '
Mei-Ling, Tessa and the horrors paused as they turned around focusing on the gold pupa, cracking and leaking more and more of the golden liquid leaking out. The girl is hatching, and when she hatches all hell will break loose.

small random nakshatra observations
1. magha ; purva phalguni : both usually embody the king archetype although is more common to see magha working to become the king if they happen not be born from a rich family because the “inheritance” can also be spiritual. i’ve seen both maghas being born from wealth and also ones that have no wealth yet became rich thru marriage and etc… purva phalguni is actually more commonly to be seen as the prince (kings son)
2. jyeshta :
2.1. i’ve noticed recently (especially from claire’s video) that they usually become kings but ALSO they actually come from wealthy families!!!! because to me the main difference between magha and jyeshta was that scorpio was supposed to rise to the top and that leo was the one who came from wealth but that concept really altered inside my head when I discovered that a huge famous person from my country responsible for changing the media communication had a jyeshta sun and he said that he’s family (he is a jewish but he went to portugal) paid to Christophe Colombo expedition to brazil (my country) , between other really historical important stuff that happened, and I was like what?? turns out he’s a jyeshta sun , uttara phalguni virgo asc, vishakha venus rx libra (I’m not sure about his map but I mentally converted the degrees) but this is amazing for sure, he’s name is silvio santos if you would like to know about him (I’m assuming you’re not brazilian or know about him)
2.2 ALSO another thing about jyeshta… since lilith is the oldest woman (bible) well I had a suspicion for a while that she could have been jyeshta related because besides she falling to the eldest daughter (rohinis older sister) category her themes are liberation, freeing oneself from sexuality taboos, rebirth, setting boundaries etcc which they all fall into scorpio /8th domain and this nakshatra is actually the one who comes closer to her story and definition and she’s also have a like for snakes and blood.
the end: I really just wanted to share this little information with y’all I hope I was able to help someone and also send me requests for post ideas if you desire to see anything special :))) thank you for reading.

Notes
Hathor’s worship likely started in the early dynastic times.
Her name means “Estate/House of Horus”--referring to both the sky and the royal family.
She is one of the oldest gods in the comedic pantheon.
She is depicted as a woman with a bull's head, a woman with cow ears, a cow, a woman with cow horns and a sundisc.
She was also portrayed as a lioness, a serpent, a papyrus plant and a sycamore tree.
She is associated with the constellation Ursa Major or Mesketiu.
She is regarded as a goddess of love, fertility, marriage and motherhood.
She was also known as a goddess of gratitude and as a sky goddess.
She also represents a vengeful aspect protecting Ra from his enemies.
She would be considered a psychopomp helping deceased souls transition to the afterlife.
In Greco-Roman times, she was seen as a manifestation or another version of Aphrodite.
She is also the goddess of pleasure and music with the sistrum being an important part of her worship.
Her imagery was found often on beer or wine containers, and she is linked to alcohol.
She is often seen wearing a menat, which is a beaded necklace representing rebirth.
Hawthorne's cult became popular in the 4th and 5th dynasty, and her cult believed that she played a huge role in the creation of the universe. They also believed due to her role in the creation of the Earth that she is her own mother.
She was considered to some as being connected to foreign lands.
She is often misrepresented and conflated with Isis.
She was the main deity in Gebelein, Denderah, and had separate temples in Memphis and Heliopolis.
Her most prominent temple was located in Denderah.
In Imu/Kom el-Hisn she was fused with Sekhmet.
Daily offerings were common in Ancient Egypt.
Goods such as incense, semi precious stones and other votive offerings were a part of her worship.
She is connected to the dead and said to nourish those in the afterlife by providing food and milk from her seven sacred cows.
Tumblr media
These these seven cows were called the Seven Hawthorns and were named in the Book of the Dead:
Lady of the Universe
Sky-storm
The Hidden One-Presiding Over her place
“You from Khemmis”
Red-hair
Bright-red
"Your Name Prevails Over the West."
The Seven Hathors may or may not also represent the Pleiades constellations. The Seven Hathors were said to have a red ribbon that binds evil.
She was often depicted wearing red, the color of passion.
She is honored in the festival of sacred marriage, which is 18 days into the month of Paoni.
As mentioned earlier, she often absorbed the roles of other goddesses as her popularity grew. Some of these roles included Seshat's role of a witness at the judgment of the dead.
While she was worshiped among all social classes. She was especially popular among the poor.
She had both priests and priestesses, which was uncommon since most clergy had to be the same sex as the god they served.
In the funerary text known as the Book of the Heavenly Cow, her father, Ra, sends her to punish humans for plotting against his rule. She is sent as Sekhmet, the lioness goddess, and massacres the rebellious humans relentlessly. But in order to prevent the wiping out of all of humanity, Ra orders that beer be dyed red and poured all over the land to mimic blood for the (literally) blood-thirsty goddess. Sekhmet then sees the “blood” and drinks all of it. In an inebriated state she passes out and reverts to a benign and calm Hathor.

a Substitution (1)
(A/N - Inspired partially by @arc-misadventures stories the Swap and Rebirth. Which are extremely well written stories that I've reread multiple times.)
All his life Jaune's best friend was himself. Yes he was surrounded by family, and that included a literal gang of older sisters. Now while his sisters, and his parents would move heaven and earth to assist him... even when he didn't want it, he still often needed to rely on himself to get out of... situations.
He was having one of those situations right at that moment. Never having been the biggest or most gifted Jaune was an easy target for the local bullies. More so when his family was no within earshot. So Jaune now had a problem. The current crop of delinquents had decided it would be great fun to get one of the girls to take Jaune's book-bag into the girl's locker-room.
Now normally this wouldn't be an insurmountable obstacle. Jaune could just wait it out, and get his stuff back once everyone had left. That would be what he would do normally, and today that wasn't an option. His oldest sister Saphron was getting married this weekend and the family was leaving today for Argus, so they could attend.
"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck." Jaune muttered as he watched the entrance to the girl's locker room. "Of course today has to be practice for like ALL the damn female teams. Fuck."
Jaune closed his eyes, and took a couple of slow deep breaths. He was starting to feel the beginnings of a tension headache. Travelling tonight will be bad enough with his motion sickness. He didn't need to add a headache on top.
"Okay. Okay, options. Options." Jaune was speaking with himself. A habit that was often the reason that he was targeted by others, along with his rather slim physique. "I can't wait it out, and there is no way I'm calling on of my sisters to fix this."
During his stake-out he was pretty confident that the room was now empty or pretty much so. He could take the risk...
"No. Nope. Too risky. IF anyone walks in while I'm looking for my bag, I'm going to get creamed, and probably suspended." Jaune bit his lip. "I could try one of the couches... which will be another wait until on of them has the TIME to escort me."
Jaune closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. This was all stupid. Just stupid and childish. Taking one final deep breath, Jaune opened his eyes, and after a quick check to see if anyone was watching... he strode forward towards the door into the changing area.
The door creaked open and a ponytailed blond girl entered the rather messy and chaotic room. Clothes and towels were scattered all about. But she didn't care. People could and were slobs. It wasn't any of her concern. No she just needed to locate the bag, and then get home, before someone could notice she was wearing a boys uniform.

"King Killmonger: The Golden Jaguar" Chapter 12
Masterlist HERE.

"I'm moving in so high
these visions overwhelm my mind
dimensions transcending by worlds
they tumble on in time
i'm pushing in so high
i'm searching for a piece of mind
this journey through inner skies we've got to fly"
The Rebirth – "This Journey In"
Was it possible to fall in love with someone all over again?
That was the question N'Jadaka asked himself watching his wife sunbathe topless on the deck while she chatted about her women friends back in Birnin Zana. Her evenly sun-baked skin looked liked the tops of baked dinner rolls drenched in butter from all the coconut oil she slathered all over. Her voice tinkled like delicate glass chimes and he gazed at her with heart eyes and a silly grin on his face.
His chest filled up with bubbly feelings listening to her talk. He melted in her presence, as softness flowed all through his insides.
A new bond had forged between them.
Encountering the sacred together transcended his feelings for Yani. That young woman had traveled in darkness on a hover bike to receive a message from his mother and in the process she was able to meet his parents and great-grandmother. They knew her. Loved her. Watched over her as their own daughter. Yani was given such a precious gift and her love for him poured out into him all that day.
"Your mother…not only was she beautiful, but she was so…I can't find the words. Glamorous? She looked like a goddess herself along with Nana Jean," she said, reaching for his hand and squeezing it.
She lowered her gaze.
"And your father…I see why he was known as a heartbreaker here."
N'Jadaka grinned.
"They were a good-looking couple. No doubt about that," he said.
Yani sat up and hugged her knees to her chest. They had spent time recuperating from their trip in the cave an entire day. N'Jadaka watched over Yani as her body finally decompressed in a deep slumber. He had sat by her side on the loft bed making sure she was not alone in case she woke up in the night remembering the spiritual realm she had skimmed across. His own brush with the sacred twice in a lifetime still humbled him, so he knew that Yani would probably feel as he did from a profound encounter, and wake up many times adjusting to a new reality she was expected to move in henceforth. Encountering gods had an impact on the body and mind. As he knew she would, Yani roused from sleep several times, her body trembling and her grasp on his nearby hand anchoring her back to the human world. It took her several attempts to reach full sleep, and in that time, he left her side to eat and hydrate his own body.
The next day he ate on the top deck with her and they moved the houseboat closer to the shore in order to catch glimpses of the first flamingo arrivals into the territory. He urged her to relax and she chose to sunbathe seated next to him while he glanced through a book of Wakandan philosophers. He used a dictionary to help him with difficult Wakandan translations that had no English word equivalents.
"Riki looks so much like Califia that it's spooky. You, know what? Joba has N'Jobu's eyes, and his deep rich skin color for sure, and his energy. That calmness…she inherited his temperament…that gentleness with just a hint of fierceness underneath. I love the fact that Sydette has the same color eyes as Joba. It makes them look like true blood sisters."
"Mmmhmmm."
Yani stared at him.
"You are both of your parents in every way. Grandpop always said that, but I was able to see it for myself."
Her eyes welled up.
"I wish they could be here with us. They should be here with us," she said.
She wiped her eyes quickly. He stroked her leg and she clasped his hand, lifting it to her lips.
"I'm so lucky…so blessed," she whispered into his fingers.
He put down his book and pulled her against him.
"So am I, Yani."
They agreed not to speak of their experience to anyone.
That afternoon N'Jadaka moved the boat again out toward the cove view of the oldest forest in Wakanda. He watched his wife swim past him as they explored Umbono Cove's beautiful waters using specialized diving masks to keep up with a school of fish they followed underwater. Yani wanted to dive deeper and stay under longer.
Hunger brought them back to the surface and they ate beef patties and fried rice with jerk shrimp. Yani knocked out in a food coma on the deck lounger and he carried her back to the loft to sleep off her meal where she wouldn't get sunburned. He napped next to her for an hour and woke up energized.
His wife snored softly next to him.
He left her side and went for a swim alone. The sun had warmed up the tranquil clear water into a balmy soak for his skin. He had to be two shades darker by now. Floating on his back, N'Jadaka stared at the blue sky. He and Yani had a few more days left before they stayed at his family's private villa before the children joined them. Grinning in the water, he couldn't wait to see his kids. Time alone with Yani was a blessing, but having all of his babies with him and his wife gave him joy. He couldn't wait to have Sydette filling him in on all the happenings in Birnin Zana, and Riki sharing all of the gossip among his friend group and cousins. Joba would play in his hair and share her opinion on the opinions of Umama and the rest of the family. There was a synergy the children created when they were all together that made N'Jadaka proud to be a father. Fatherhood was not his dream for a long time. When he asked Disa to marry him as a young man, he knew children were a possibility, but they were not on his vision board. It was Yani that gave him the gift of fatherhood, and he learned to love it with Sweet Pea first and foremost.
He wanted to be an intentional parent with Yani, and once they returned to the palace, they'd have to start preparing Sydette for her rites of passage trials. Every child in Wakanda went through it at the age of twelve, and parents began to prep for it once their child turned nine. Sydette was excited, especially with Umama and Ramonda teaching Yani and him the proper way to prepare. When Sydette came of age, they would release her to women elders for a month in the ancient forests he could see from the water he floated in. The first step would be to prepare her hair, and Umama was ready to do it for Sydette after the honeymoon trip. His oldest child couldn't wait to wear the hairstyle for three years that told the public she was becoming a young lady.
N'Jadaka dove under the water. He wasn't ready for his firstborn to grow up already. She would always be his baby, but time would march on. In a few years she would be a teenager like he had once been. She'd probably want to test her limits and push against boundaries he and Yani set as loving parents. The best thing about being a father was having Yani be the mother of his children. Her love for them knew no bounds. She proved it by traveling to the edge of the ancestral plane for them…and him.
He couldn't get over that. His mind replayed finding Yani in the cave and hearing the voice of his unborn baby in his head over and over. Braving the wrath of Bast was something special. Her bold move to protect them warmed his heart all over again. He glanced at the houseboat. She was still asleep, hopefully resting well.
A large drone swooped over head and landed on the deck of the houseboat carrying a fresh load of gourmet food for the royal couple. N'Jadaka swam back to the boat ladder and pulled himself out of the water. He checked the list of food against what was inside the refrigerated container and began putting goods away before sending the drone back to the Royal Talon Fighter. Yani requested more Caribbean supplies with spices and food from the islands. Twyla made sure there were freshly prepared jars of green seasoning to save Yani cooking time.
His wife walked down from the bedroom wiping her eyes of sleep.
"Did I wake you up?" he asked, pouring himself a glass of red wine.
"I heard the buzzing from the drone. Figured I'd better come down and start cooking. How does stewed fish and spicy dumplings sound?"
He rubbed his hands together, "Can you make the fried oyster rolls too?"
"Your wish is my command. Pour me a glass too, my sexy husband," she said.
He grinned.
"Swim trunks are sexy now?"
Yani trailed her index finger up his midsection.
"Everything is sexy about you. The first time I saw you swimming naked my mouth watered. I cursed your name too for being in my private space, but this body and that face could not be denied their due," she said.
"Are you flirting with me to get some dick tonight?"
Yani laughed and pinched his left nipple. She stepped away from him and washed her hands in the wide sink of the galley.
"I dreamed about your parents again," she said.
"Oh, yeah? Good dream?"
She nodded and paused her work gathering the ingredients needed for their meal prep.
"We were seated around a campfire and holding long sticks to toast marshmallows. Your father was telling me a story about teaching you to swim. Your mother kept touching his face and laughing…it was so real. They gave me comfort…like they knew I needed that from them. I looked up at the night sky and saw so many stars twinkling above me and I was at peace."
N'Jadaka grinned, pleased that she was in a good place mentally. He drank wine with her and she cooked a full meal that tasted better than any fancy restaurant could throw together. With a heavy belly, he sat on the deck with her and watched the sun go down and usher in a solitude they both needed. Yani lifted a fresh glass of red wine and he did the same. They clinked glasses and sipped all night.
Tumblr media
Five days at the family villa invigorated Yani. The property had been in the Udaku family for three generations, but most recently had been used by Prince N'Jobu before he became a War Dog. An eager staff had greeted the royals when they arrived on a warm afternoon, and that same day, Yani and N'Jadaka learned about N'Jobu's playboy ways in detail. One of the housekeepers, Gorata, was an older woman who looked after N'Jobu. Her caretaking of the property gave her privy to the goings on of the villa and the dashing prince who treated her well. Although she was in her mid-fifties, Gorata held a youthful zeal in her face and movement, her long thick beaded locs only sporting a tiny sprinkle of gray at the roots. She gave Yani and N'Jadaka a tour of the grounds and showed them where the Royal Talon Fighter would land in an open grassy area when it brought the children later.
"Prince N'Jobu loved meditating out here. This place was like his bachelor vacation retreat. He'd walk along the river reciting poetry, or sometimes he would listen to music and sing. I loved his singing voice…so rich and full-bodied. The ladies loved that," Gorata said.
"Ladies?" Yani asked, peeking at N'Jadaka's face as she spoke.
The king stared at Gorata and the older woman grinned.
"Oh yes…Prince N'Jobu entertained many young noble women here. Sometimes he had parties with his friends that lasted for days when they wanted privacy. He was very popular. The young nobles loved coming here."
"I bet my grandmother was not very happy about parties here," N'Jadaka said.
"Kumkani, we were never allowed to let any of the elder royals know of his stay here. Sometimes…sometimes the women guests were not appropriate for the prince to be around," Gorata said.
"He had hookers come here?" Yani said.
"Oh no…Queen Yani…never. Prince N'Jobu often entertained non-noble elites, but they were not prostitutes. He was too good for anything like that. Royals are always supposed to be in the company of their status, but Prince N'Jobu liked commoners too."
"Commoners, huh?"
"High quality my queen."
"So this was his sex party house," N'Jadaka said.
Gorata laughed and covered her mouth.
"King N'Jadaka, you jest!" Gorata said.
"I mean, it is what it is…my father came here to be with women so my grandparents wouldn't know."
"Your father was very respectful and very discreet."
"Hmmm, I wonder if I should even be here," Yani said, flouncing around the area.
Gorata held up her hands toward Yani.
"Oh…Queen Yani, I did not mean to make you feel unwelcome. This villa is now your family abode. A bachelor pad no more."
"I'm only teasing, Gorata. Thank you for showing us around."
"I will take my leave now. The staff will have lunch ready for when the royal children arrive."
"Thank you, Gorata," N'Jadaka said.
The caretaker departed and Yani smirked at the king.
"Your daddy's hoe house!"
Yani cackled and N'Jadaka only smiled.
"I was told that they still have women and men on standby for private royal favors. Seems like a few of my older Wakandan cousins still use the place often."
"Interesting."
N'Jadaka glanced around.
"Are you ready to get the munchkins back?" he said.
"Yes. It's actually been too quiet without them."
She noticed his kimoyo beads lighting up in several different colors. His palace staff used color codes to prioritize his work load. He was already putting together his docket for his return. N'Jadaka tapped the beads and the colors dulled on his wrist. Yani patted his arm. She hadn't bothered to turn on her beads, preferring to hit the ground running once she returned. Her office manager S'Indiphile was left in charge of preparing Yani's calendar for her return with strict guidelines to prioritize charitable works overseas and her coming out events for the next two months. The elites from every tribe vyed for her attention and she was being very selective based on how she was treated by noble families tied to the Udaku clan. She knew the moment she turned her work beads on, her wrist would light up in rainbow colors like N'Jadaka's.
N'Jadaka reached for her hand and she took it. They strolled along the river's edge waiting for the Royal Talon Fighter.
"Kumkani, we are arriving in five minutes," Okoye said from N'Jadaka's beads.
Yani already sensed the vibratory hum of the aircraft and her heart thumped faster anticipating holding her children again.
"Here they come!' she yelped as they watched the Talon Fighter float over the landing ground.
N'Jadaka squeezed her hand. The aircraft landed with a gentle shaking of the ground around them and the off-ramp slid out. Okoye and Ayo walked out ahead of the children and waited at the end of the ramp.
Sydette held Riki and Joba's hands and they strode out into the bright sun wearing big wide smiles on their faces. Riki jerked away from her hold and Joba ran behind him to greet Yani first. Sydette hugged N'Jadaka's waist and looked up at his face.
"I missed you Baba," Sydette said.
He kissed her forehead before reaching over for the bouncy "twins".
"Sweet Pea, oh my love…I'm so happy to see you," Yani said.
She gave her oldest a deep long hug. Both parents couldn't stop hugging and kissing their babies and the children responded in kind. Love lingered all around them and Yani breathed a sigh of contentment. She carried a watchful energy around her brood too.
"Were you well-behaved with the Doras? It was your first trip traveling without the nannies," Yani said.
"We were good," Sydette said.
"Hungry?"
"Starving!" Riki yelled.
Yani caught sight of the villa staff bringing their lunch meal into the two-story villa. The comforting cool breeze made the interior pleasant for everyone. Yani led the children to the restroom on the first floor to wash their hands. N'Jadaka spoke to the Doras before relieving them for a long break. They would head out for the houseboat in the evening which only allowed their children a few hours in the villa.
Lunch was thick spicy sausage rolls and fries with a cool refreshing dessert of sliced fruit in thick sweetened cream. The children devoured everything like they had bottomless pits for stomachs and Yani admired her family being all together again. Sydette was of course spilling all the tea back home. Riki seemed happier since Twyla re-braided his hair differently from the girls. Joba was especially talkative revealing all of Umama's plans for Yani and N'Jadaka when they returned home. Their marriage pleased Umama to no end from the way Joba described it. For one thing it shut down the negative chatter from naysayers about the king being an unmarried father of three among her class. It also legitimized the children in a way that pushed the agenda of other nobles wanting to align with the family intimately. It was uncouth to overtly pressure match-making so young, but Yani was aware of elite families quietly leaning on Umama to favor their children for consideration in future betrothal marches when the time came. Umama was fiercely protective of her great-grandchildren, even more so since the Infinity War, but she was also a forceful mover and shaker since her return to Birnin Zana. People knew she was the only way to get into N'Jadaka's ear and stay close to the royal inner circle. Yani was much more in favor of letting the children develop their friend groups, grow into Wakandan culture more, and then letting them decide what life partners they wanted. Alas, she knew it wouldn't be that simple. Citizens were aware that she and N'Jadaka would have more children, and unlike the recent monarchs who only had one or two children, the possibility of snagging more than two direct descendants with choices that could join them with the most powerful family in the country was too valuable to ignore.
Joba waved her spoon around to get Yani's attention.
"What is it Sunshine?"
Joba glanced at Riki and he nodded his head encouraging her to speak for them.
"Mama, Riki and I want to have a pool party when we go back home. We told our friends we could have one when we came back before iholide starts. Can we? I know we are supposed to ask permission before we tell people things, but everyone might leave early before we get home," Joba said.
Sydette stared at Yani.
"We wanted to ask sooner but you were already gone and Umama was keeping us from disturbing you. It'll only be a few friends."
"How many is a few?" N'Jadaka asked.
Sydette's gaze dropped to her finished plate of food.
"About twelve…of my friends. And then there's Riki and Joba's friends…and Uncle M'Baku's kids."
N'Jadaka let out a whistle and Yani giggled.
"That's not a few people Sweet Pea, that's about forty kids running around the palace," he said.
"It won't be the palace, just the pool room, Baba," Riki interjected.
N'Jadaka glanced at Yani.
"I have a spa day with Twyla and my Ladies in waiting before my first day as Queen. You'll have to supervise," Yani said quickly before he dropped it all in her lap.
"Baba…please…" Joba whined.
N'Jadaka tossed his linen napkin on the table. He couldn't deny his youngest child anything.
"Okay, okay. Swim party it is. But just for the day, we're not dragging this out…what, Sweet Pea?"
Sydette's dimples popped out and she held up a finger.
"We kinda told everyone it would be a sleepover too. Camping in the garden to see the fireflies."
"Anything else?" N'Jadaka said crossing his arms.
"No dassit, Baba," Riki said grinning like he knew they pulled one over on them.
N'Jadaka latched his gaze onto Yani's. She sipped water from a glass.
"You are in charge," Yani declared.
N'Jadaka stood up from their meal table and the children pounced on him, knocking him onto the carpeted floor and wrestling him. He tickled every underarm and sandaled foot and the peals of laughter flew all around the room. The king lifted back to his feet and led them all back outside where he showed the kids the beauty of the grounds. Riki grabbed N'Jadaka's hand.
"I'm ready to get on the boat, Baba. Let's go!" Riki said.
Sydette and Joba bounced around him agreeing.
"You guys can't be bored with this place already," Yani said.
"We want to go diving and play on the water bouncy mat," Sydette said.
"The Doras have to rest," N'Jadaka said.
"Then you fly the Talon Fighter, they can sleep there," Riki insisted.
Yani touched Riki's shoulder.
"We respect our staff, Dumpling. They work hard to protect you and they deserve rest and time to eat. I know you're excited about the boat, but be mindful, yeah?"
Riki nodded.
"What's over there?" Joba asked.
She pointed to a big tree with thick limbs outstretched across the tranquil part of the river.
"Let's go see,' N'Jadaka said.
He took off running and their children squealed and chased after him. Yani strolled behind them enjoying the sight of her husband playing. It was so rare for him. The eager and excited chatter delighted her once the children noticed the swing tied to the tree that swung out over a giant pond.
Okoye met up with them holding a purple gym travel bag.
"I suppose the little ones would like to have their swimming suits?" Okoye asked.
N'Jadaka put his hands on his hips.
"I dunno Okoye, Riki said he was ready to go out to the houseboat already. I don't think he wants to stick around and use the pond swing."
Riki held up his hands in denial.
"I changed mi mind. I want to stay longer, Baba!"
"You sure? Because I'm pretty sure you were eager to jet outta here."
"Forget what I said. Thank you Dora Okoye."
Riki took the bag from her hand and his sisters followed him back to the villa to change.
"Thank you, Okoye," N'Jadaka said.
Yani grinned, "We'll probably end up leaving later than planned now that the children have this swing to play with."
"No problem, Queen Yani. We'll be ready," Okoye said.
Five minutes later the kids were tearing back down the path wearing colorful swim suits and arm floaties, all thoughts of leaving forgotten. Their bright excited expressions reminded Yani that life was for joy with her family. She turned to look at N'Jadaka, and he was already swinging over the bright green water fully clothed. He released the rope and dropped into the pond with a giant splash, acting like the biggest kid of them all.

Some fun facts about Adam and Eve:
Eve was never created from Adam's rib. She created from his half. The rib was mistranslated. Adam was created as a both man and a woman with two faces, four arms and four legs, after god seperated female side of Adam that's how Eve was created!
Eve is described as a first feminist (looking at Lilith that's understable.)
Adam and Eve had healthy relationship. It was so beautiful that Lilith, Sameal and Lucifer were jealous of them.
Adam had actually five wives. First was Lilith, after there was Naamah, who he rejected becouse he couldn't love her after he saw how she was created. There was Eisheth Zenunim and Mahlat bat Agrat. Also sometimes Naamah, Agrat and Eisheth were created along side Eve as back up plan if Adam didn't like Eve.
In canaanite religion Adam wasn't a first man, but a God who sent by El (the heigher god) to protect tree of life with his wife. Unfortunately, Horon, god who wanted to overthron El poisoned the tree making it tree of death, after Adam was sent to fight Horon. Horon took form of serpent and bite Adam making him a human. Adam was given a mortal wife after that.
Eve was also a goddess in mesopotamian religion. She was goddess of love, war, fertility, healing, childbirth at the same time She cloud couse disesea and inflict punishment. She was also drescibe as a mother, gaurdian and goddess of earth who brings destiny and death, giver of boon of resurrection in form of rebirth, creatix of all manifested forms, instructress of humanity, especially in rituals of death, matron of mother kin-ship, ruler of the sensual and perceptive human nature.
In gnostcism Eve was Zoe, daughter of Sophie, the wisdom, who was sent to Adam to give him light and free him from control of the Demiurge and Angels. Her eating the fruit given by Eleleth wasn't seen as bad, but as something good.
Adam and Eve/Zoe daughter was Norea, who was goddess of fire. She was their first daughter and younger sister of Seth. She was described as a "woman stronger/greater than god" (most of the time when gnostisc say "god" they mean Demiurge/Yaldaboath). Norea also burned down Noah's arc, becouse they didn't let her in (Noah had to rebuild it). She killed Yao (Demiurge sons, a God who was also ruler and a angel).
In islam their oldest daughter was 'Anāq bint Adam. Sometimes she was the twin sister of Seth. Anaq was a first witch. She was killed by a gigantic beast sent by God. Her son, Og/Ūj was giant and a king of Bashan who was killed by Moses. Og was only giant who survived the flood.
Adam and Eve had other daughters and these were their names: Awan, Azura, Jumella, Lusia, Cainan, Qelima, Aclima, Aklia, Luluwa, Kalmana and Balbira.
Personally it would be funny to see in Hazbin Hotel universe if Adam was also canaanite Adam (simply to pissed off Lucifer) or in if Norea joined in the battle along and be on Adam's side.
My main takeaway from all of this is canaanite & gnostcist adam & family sound waaaay more interesting/cooler than typical christian adam & eve plots in media,def theres untapped potential in there
Also where tf did u find all this info abt islamic adams & his daughter being a witch??? I always thought nothing was mentioned on adams daughters in islamic narrations

Inanna/Ishtar/Persephone= Galadriel parallel
I’ve wanted to write this note for a while and draw some parallels that I find interesting. Of course, these are just my own speculations, but if anyone finds it intriguing, feel free to comment and share your thoughts!
Overview of Inanna’s Descent
The tale of *Inanna* is one of the world’s oldest myths, found in Sumerian texts, and it holds deep symbolism related to duality, transformation, and feminine power. Inanna’s descent into the Underworld mirrors the journey of Persephone but offers a unique view of the feminine psyche's journey through light and darkness, which aligns with the concepts of inner transformation, balance, and integration.
Inanna, the goddess of love, fertility, and war, decides to descend into the Underworld, which is ruled by her sister, Ereshkigal, the goddess of death and the afterlife. Inanna’s descent is voluntary; she chooses to leave her realm of light, beauty, and power to journey into a realm of darkness and death. However, her descent has grave consequences.
As she passes through the seven gates of the Underworld, she is stripped of her royal garments and symbols of power at each stage until she stands naked and vulnerable before Ereshkigal. This loss of identity is a symbolic death—Inanna loses everything that defined her, including her ego and attachments.
Ereshkigal kills Inanna and hangs her body on a hook, a symbol of complete surrender and stillness.
Tumblr media
Inanna eventually returns to life and ascends back to the upper world, but her rebirth is conditional: she must send someone in her place to balance her return. She ultimately chooses her husband, Dumuzi,
For those who searching for the place in RoP for the poor guy Celeborne lol))
who will alternate time in the Underworld with her. This final exchange sets up a cycle of descent and return, symbolizing life’s rhythms of death and rebirth.
Inanna’s Dual Nature and Integration of Opposites
Inanna’s story illustrates the power of duality within the feminine psyche, as she is both a goddess of life (love and fertility) and a figure who intimately engages with death.
The Descent as Transformation
Inanna’s descent is a powerful metaphor for transformation. By entering the Underworld, she experiences the death of her old self, and through this death, she is reborn with greater wisdom. In psychological terms, this represents the necessity of facing and integrating the shadow self—the aspects of our personality that are often suppressed or hidden. Just as Inanna is stripped of her powers, the psyche must let go of ego-driven illusions to attain true self-knowledge.
Integration of Light and Dark
Inanna embodies light, fertility, and joy, while Ereshkigal embodies darkness, grief, and death. The two sisters represent opposing forces within the psyche that must be reconciled. This integration mirrors Jung’s idea of *individuation*, where a person must integrate all parts of the self—both the light and the shadow—to achieve wholeness. Ereshkigal’s role as the “dark twin” of Inanna reveals that acknowledging and accepting our darker aspects can lead to psychological growth and maturity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Feminine Duality
Inanna’s role as both a goddess of life and a willing participant in death highlights the duality inherent in the. This dual role resonates with the Jungian concept of the *anima* as both nurturing and powerful, capable of mediating between consciousness and the unconscious.
Cycle of Death and Rebirth
Inanna’s descent and return mirror the natural cycles of the earth, much like the seasonal myth of Persephone. Her journey suggests that to be truly alive and self-aware, one must repeatedly confront and integrate the “deaths” that life demands. Every descent—each loss, each challenge—can ultimately lead to a greater sense of life. This cycle reflects the psyche’s constant process of dying to old patterns to allow for new growth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Parallels with Persephone and Depth Psychology
The journey of Inanna, like Persephone’s, speaks to the necessity of darkness in understanding the light. Both figures must confront the depths of the unconscious to achieve self-realization, and both are transformed by their journeys. However, where Persephone is taken to the Underworld, Inanna goes willingly, embodying the idea that personal growth often requires an active choice to face our shadow and vulnerabilities.
Like we see it's not where the Galadriel end in the season 2 × 8 because she's still have to do it, but not do it willingly). For me she's in a really Persephone role right now. Kidnapped and forced to *touch* the darkness, confused and leave alone there.
In *depth psychology*, this journey reflects the process of confronting buried emotions, traumas, and fears, often necessary for self-acceptance and personal evolution.
Sauron in the darkness and light parallel.
More specifically about this I write in the next article, because this one is already to be too long..
Can only add that there is a really curious parallel between Sauron like a Deonis and Sauron like Apollo the god of light.
The myth also aligns with Nietzsche’s concept of *Apollonian* and *Dionysian* forces: Inanna represents the vibrant, Apollonian force of life and beauty, while her journey into Ereshkigal’s realm requires a Dionysian surrender to chaos and darkness. By integrating these forces, Inanna achieves a new level of insight and wisdom.
Archetypal Themes in Human Psychology
Inanna’s myth offers timeless lessons that resonate within the human psyche:
Facing the Shadow
Inanna’s willingness to confront Ereshkigal reflects the courage needed to face one’s shadow, a Jungian process in which an individual recognizes and integrates darker aspects of the self. This confrontation with Ereshkigal represents the necessary challenges and “deaths” (of ego, expectations, etc.) on the path to self-discovery.
The Feminine as Mediator
Inanna, like Persephone, serves as a bridge between the world of the living and the Underworld, symbolizing the power of the feminine to navigate the boundary between light and dark. In many myths, the feminine archetype embodies transformation, sensitivity, and the potential for rebirth. By embracing this role, Inanna exemplifies the strength found in vulnerability, empathy, and emotional openness.
Duality as a Path to Wholeness
The descent into darkness and return to light illustrates the duality of the human experience. Growth often requires acknowledging one’s limitations and fears. Inanna’s journey suggests that inner peace and self-awareness come not from resisting this duality but by embracing it. But on this part of her journey, Galadriel know this just from the words she heard from her brother, not from her personal experience. She saw the darkness, the evil, but can't accept it, can't embrace it in herself, because she's scared to be dominated by it.
Tumblr media
Integration of Life and Death
By embodying both life and death, Inanna teaches that the path to fulfillment requires us to recognize that creation and destruction, joy and sorrow, are intertwined. This duality is a core experience within the psyche and in life itself.
My thoughts about all this..
In a legend, Inanna/Ishtar represents the union of opposites, like order and chaos, male and female, war and peace. When she's present, a low man can become a king, and a king might feel what it’s like to be a low man. A wise person can act foolishly, and a fool might feel wise. She balances the world’s tension and opposites, blurring the lines of what’s allowed and accepted in society.
Galadriel final transformation in to a *Forest Wich* plays a similar role—a mediator or bridge—showing contradictory visions and avoiding exact predictions. She moves cautiously, respecting human free will and choice.
And I think it would be really a good source for inspiration for the next seasons of RoP where Galadriel really can endure and dive deeper into her magical forces that she discovered by touching this *dark side* of herself, integrate without fear of losing control over herself.
And especially it can turns to be really hot for the shippers, because actually follow the legend of Inanna and the Persephone we know that she was bite to the darkness in the way that she have to spend there half of the year in order to come back,( or maybe leave her husband like a hostage lol) and this journey became cyclical.
The connection must be maintained, it must be there, and the door can never be shut complete.

Ember in Your Hands
Jake Sully x Neytiri x Fem!Reader
—-
a/n: welcome to book two! i hope you all enjoy!!
also- the ages of the kids are a little different, but neteyam is still the oldest, then kiri, lo’ak, and finally tuk. this won’t have any impact on the story tho!!
warnings: swearing, tell me if i missed anything!!
Chapter One- Sing Like an Angel
—-
The forest has always been your mother. The forest has always taken care of you, given you what you need. It holds dangers and it holds life, it holds your heart.
It’s hard not to feel small in the majesty of it all, it’s hard to remember what hides in the forest. You know it better then anyone, and still, you like to forget. Neytiri takes you far into the forest, helps you search for items to make beads with, to add to your songcords.
Yours is mostly empty- one for your birth, for meeting Neytiri, for leaving her, meeting her again, Grace’s death- and your death. And your rebirth.
As the bones of your old body fall away and turn to dust, as you go back to the forest- your new body springs with life.
You place a hand on your stomach, barely a bump, but it’s still comforting to do it anyways. Neytiri pulls her father’s- her bow- back and then adjusts. You smile, and she shifts her stance, so you can just barely see her stomach swollen with life.
She huffs, quietly, before she relaxes the arrow and the animal lets out a shriek. She turns to you with a soft smile, and you return it.
This is life- not your human body, not before. You had to die to live, and now you really do live. You really burn.
—-
“He likes you the best,” Jake says. He acts like he’s mad, like he feels betrayed that his oldest son prefers the comfort of your arms and your voice. But, you see the smile on his face.
“No,” you murmur, taking the small wriggly baby from him. He’s so tiny, is what you keep thinking. He’s so small and perfect and yours. How can you be responsible for shaping a life like this?
Neytiri’s voice fills your home, her songcord one you know by heart. She sings it almost every night, like she’s praying, especially after Neteyam’s birth. He was already presented to the clan, held up in the air like he was the brightest fire you have ever seen.
You can tell Neteyam wants to go to sleep, but he’s simply having trouble doing so. You chuckle, and Jake places a hand on the small of your back as you go to stand.
“Careful,” he cautions, and you fight the urge to roll your eyes.
“Pregnancy is not a death sentence, Jake.”
“I know,” he huffs, standing so close to you that you can feel the heat radiating off of his skin. “I’m just being helpful,” he grins, placing a hand on your face. He walks past you, to your hammock, leaving you with a drowsy baby who’s starting to get fussy.
“Not helpful,” you muse, beginning to pace slowly around your home.
He throws himself onto the hammock with more force than necessary, but you can only smile. Not even Neteyam is disturbed by your mate’s usual antics.
“Sing loud,” he says. “You sing like an angel, sweetheart.” And you sing your songcord for your baby, until Neytiri comes back inside and watches as you place Neteyam in his crib.
You place your hand on your stomach, much bigger now, and feel Neytiri do the same. You are full of life and fire.
—-
The decision to raise Grace’s baby was an easy one. You spent almost all of your days, especially after Neteyam was born, sitting next to her body, watching her stomach grow like yours- day by day.
She was a few months farther than you, and it’s hurts to think that you could have shared this together. But you can’t, and you never will.
Kiri is the most beautiful baby you have ever seen. She looks so much like Grace, even as a baby, it sometimes hurts but you don’t let it.
Grace once told you that it never hurt to have you there, not when you were a piece of her sister.
Now, Kiri is a piece of Grace. But more than that- she is her own person. She is a bubbly baby, her eyes always open wide. She wraps her hand around Jake’s pinky finger every chance she gets, and smiles so wide you’re sure there must be some crushed up stars on her skin.
You present her to the clan, and she has her first communion with Eywa. Her eyes light up. You place a hand over your stomach and try and hold back your tears.
—-
Neteyam stares at the baby in your arms very intently. You wonder what he would say if he could talk. Would he ask where the baby came from? Why your stomach is flatter now?
You touch your fingertips to his cheek.
“This is your little brother, Neteyam. His name is Lo’ak.” You place a hand on your stomach. “He came from my tummy.”
He looks up at you with wide eyes, before he face breaks out into a soft smile.
“He is too young,” Neytiri says, bringing Neteyam closer to her.
“But he has your mind even now, no?”
“Hopefully, he doesn’t not have mine,” Jake chuckles, wrapping his arms around you, letting you lean back into his chest.
Neytiri told you that birth was hard, but seeing Lo’ak made it all worth it. You would go through that pain a million more times if it meant you could have your family safe like this.
Kiri let’s out a small cry from her blanketed spot on the floor.
Neytiri pretends to roll her eyes, but she’s smiling too hard for it to be true. Jake only laughs, and you burn harder.
—-
“You must be careful!” Neytiri shouts, watching as Lo’ak places a hand on Tuk’s head. You laugh and pull her a little closer, so his wandering hands aren’t tempted.
Neytiri grabs his arm, kissing the back of his hand.
“Be very careful, my son, very careful. Tuk is very tiny and very soft.”
Kiri runs a delicate finger over Tuk’s leg.
“She is soft!” she exclaims, and you laugh, feeling almost lightheaded from another birth. Tuk was not planned- three children were enough. And then you were sick, and a visit to the Tsahìk proved that you were full of life yet again.
“Yes,” you giggle. “She’s very soft, very tiny. One day, she will be able to play with you guys.
Lo’ak’s eyes light up, and you smile, lean forward to kiss his forehead. He scrunches his nose, mumbles that he’s too old, before leaning his head against your arm.
Kiri shuffles anxiously in Jake’s lap, before grabbing a piece of his hair leaning up to whisper in her ear. He hisses, but listens anyway.
“You’re tired, babygirl?” she nods, and then you watch her eyes look fearfully up at you.
“What’s wrong, Kiri?” you ask, shuffling Tuk in your arms.
“You- you can’t sing,” she frets, eyes traveling down to Tuk. “You always sing.”
“Yeah,” Lo’ak mumbles, and Neteyam let’s out a yawn, pawing at your leg. “You have to sing.”
Your heart still belongs to the forest, but you swear the piece of it that’s still left to you, that was waiting for something, is now fulfilled.
“Of course I will sing,” you soothe, and Jake places his hand on the back of your neck.
So, you sing, and your heart is filled with your children and your fire burns for your mates.

Note
Rebirth: Willow, are you going to break the news to Weiss and Witley about the Winter situation? Or are you going to wait until they’re older and less likely to be under Jauques thumb? And are you sure there’s not going to be another white haired addition running around? You know how ‘potent’ the Arcs can be.
Battle Plans
Juniper soon enters her room with her darling husband to me their wife friend, Willow, slowly packing away her clothes, seemingly trying to delay her departure until the last moment possible.
Juniper: So, what’s the plan?
Willow: I finish up packing, and then tomorrow the three of us will be on our way back to, Atlas. There’s nothing else to it.
Juniper: That isn’t what I meant, Willow.
Willow: …
Willow: I know… Haa… How do I tell, Weiss, and Whitely that, Winter is only their half sister? So long as, Jacques is there I can’t tell them anything. Although I doubt any of them even know I’ve been out of, Atlas for the past few weeks. I’ve managed to repair the relationship with my oldest daughter, but that was thanks to you, and Acheius presence. I will have no such support with those two.
Juniper: You sure you don’t want, Achi to just come over there, and kick, Jackass’s ass?
Willow: Would he be willing to do that?
Achieus: Hell yes I would! Oh I can see it already! I come in, deck, that bastard right in the face, sending him flying through a window crashing into the icy tundra far below. Then, I grab, Willow by the waist like so!
Willow: EEP?!
Acheius: Then I kiss her: Like so.
Willow: Mph?! M-Mmmmm~!
Acheius: Ah~! Then I’d break off, and look at the spawns of, Jacques, and go: “Look at me! I am the daddy now!’
Juniper: Pfft! Ahahaha~!
Acheius: And, that would be that. Alls well that ends well.
Juniper: While that is an amusing thought, I doubt that would work.
Acheius: Yeah, I doubt it would work either. But, I no doubt expect the twins have already dealt with him.
Willow: How, they’ve been here with us the whole time?
Acheius: Well, at the very least they’ve come up with a plan to deal with him.
Juniper: They have been very quiet whenever we’ve mentioned, ‘dealing with, Jacques.’
Acheius: I suspect they’re going with a long con plan here.
Juniper: I’m afraid they’re planning for that as well.
Willow: What do you think they are planning then?
Acheius: I think… they’re planning for the quickest way you could possibly remove, Jacques.
Willow: The quickest way would mean… no… They’re planning on killing him?!
Acheius: I think so too…
Willow: But, they’re just children, they couldn’t possibly be seriously thinking about killing a man, even such a vile man as him!
Juniper: There is a lot about the twins you don’t know about. Jell, there’s a lot about the twins that even we, their parents, and siblings know about them. And, what we do know is quite… unsettling.
Willow: Unsettling how?
Acheius: They know how to take a life.
Willow: What…?
Acheius: And, I’m not saying this in the manner of they know how to kill someone like: ‘Pointy end goes into man, man dies’ kind of way, everyone knows that. But, they know how toget away with it, and worse they know how to live with the grief of taking a life.
Willow: They could take a life, and it wouldn’t phase them?
Juniper: While I don’t know about, Jeanne. I know for certain that, Jaune could take a life. In fact, I dare say he already has.
Acheius: What?! What makes you say that?
Juniper: When I read the news, and it said the author of the, ‘The Girl Who Fell’ died. Jaune seemed to be indifferent to her death, but I swear on my life I heard him mumble, “That took longer than expected.”
Willow: The papers said she was poisoned. Do you think?
Acheius: A slow acting poison no doubt. One that you would never realize it was there until it was too late…
Willow: So that’s how they’re planning on dealing with, Jacques. They’re planning on poisoning him!
Juniper: Hit, Jacques with a slow acting poison, and then you just wait. And, just like grand-pappy used to say: ‘The patient hunter, gets the prey.’
Acheius: Jeanne will be staying with, Winter, while studying in, Atlas with her. But, she will no doubt come, and visit you at, Schnee Manor. When there, all she has to do is wait for the opportune moment to slip it to him.
Willow: Should I offer my assistance to them? I could make it easier for them.
Juniper: No, you will be the first person they question. You need any ability to deny any, and all evidence to his death to prove your innocence. If they know about this conversation they could accuse you of murder as is.
Willow: That’s true. I could have perhaps hint at a means of slipping him the poison unnoticed. That is if they’re using a poison to kill him, or even if they’re planning anything at all.
Acheius: They’re certainly not planning on bludgeoning him to death with a piece of masonry.
Juniper: Much less catching a Grimm, and sicing that on that bastard son of a bitch, certainly not.
Willow: They’re most certainly not planning that~!
Acheius: Oh they’re most certainly not planning anything~!
Juniper: My two sweet angels~? Oh they’re certainly not planning anything at all~!
~~~
Meanwhile, below the, Arc parents bedroom window.
Jaune: …
Jeanne: …
Jaune: Dammit, I’ve become predictable…
Jeanne: How does she notice all those little things about us?
Jaune: Hell if I know, some sort of special mom sense? But, bludgeoning him with a statue? That wouldn’t work. It would leave too much DNA traces to follow. Not to mention all the cameras they no doubt have installed in their home could probably catch you in the act.
Jeanne: Neither would sicing a Grimm after him. It would be a traceless murder, in the sense that it was a , Grimm that killed him, and you wouldn’t leave any trace upon the body. But, how did the, Grimm get there? As soon as they asked that, it’s only a matter of time until you’re caught.
Jaune: Our orginal plan will work far better than that.
Jeanne: And, if by some miracle, for, Jacques, it doesn’t work, we go to, Plan B instead!
Jaune: You have a, Plan B?
Jeanne: Spike his food with enough laxatives that he shits his bowels to death~!
Jaune: Oh… Oh that would be a fitting end for the little shiter!
Jeanne: I know right!
Jaune: But, I think they have meds that can fix that so?
Jeanne: Gods dammit…
Jaune: Don’t worry, we’ll go with, Plan C if, A, and B fail!
Jeanne: What’s, Plan C?
Jaune: Your semblance.
Jeanne: But, I’ve never used it on a human before. I don’t know how it will affect them.
Jaune: But, Jacques isn’t a human, he’s a monster worse than, Grimm itself.
Jeanne: Yeah, but Grimm fade away when they die; Humans don’t.
Jaune: …
Jaune: Well… that all depends on how you dispose of the body. No…?
Jeanne: Good point.
Maia, daughter of the Titan Atlas, who shifts the heaven's axis, and Titanide sheep-nymph Pleione (Aithrê is her alt. name) who increases in number as a lady of plenty, is one of many stars making up the constellation Taurus. She is the oldest of the seven sisters and the leader of the Pleiades born in Arkadia on Mt. Kyllene where she would take up permanent residence in the caves. She is a sister to the Hyades as well. Maia is known both as a star-nymph (part of the Astrothesiai) and Oread. She has only one natural child, far-famed and widely-loved Hermes who helps her name stay relevant even now when knowledge about her is obscure.
Generally, the word maia means mother but for the goddess means Nursing Mother primarily but also Great Mother, Good Mother, Foster Mother, Female Doctor, or Dame. Her name also can be a way to address older women, grandmothers, and nurses/midwives. Maia's domain mentioned above is her most prominent aspect as a goddess of motherhood along with Leto. It led to her having a part in a myth otherwise separated from her as she became the foster mother of Kallisto's son Arkas, whom she named promptly after Zeus gave him to her.
Maia has many additional complexities with her important role to play noting her position as one of the main factors of all the seasons as the one to tell of the changes between each season (with the Pleiades). Her importance with humanity comes from this as the seven sisters tell when the earth will be renewed with life and when that renewal is at its end. She is a vegetation and earth goddess, from which she is renewal and rebirth to the earth as well as the barrenness of the earth. Maia is a maritime deity as well, without her showing up in the sky navigation by nighttime would become a challenge, something that anyone traveling in the dark would know. Through this connection she has a deep relationship with waters of oceans, springs, and rivers.
Fondly, the Seven Sisters are called Doves (Pigeons) by many writers and are the ones that attend Zeus with ambrosia. With the stars accompanying the moon, the Pleiades are called companions of Artemis. Under the epithets Atlantides, Dodonides, or Nysiades, they are nursemaids and teachers to the infant Bacchus.
The month of May earned its name from her as a 50/50 deal between her and Roman goddess Maia who's also a spring/fertility and earth goddess associated with mountains. While Rome started it first, the Greeks took it up for themselves near the end of the Hellenic era and the start of the Hellenistic era.
*On a more speculative mindset to the knowledge that Maia more than likely is a pre-Greek/older local mother goddess to the area in a similar way that Hermes is confirmed to be pre-Greek/an older local god. The older tradition and connection she has with caves in a similar manner to Hermes could speak to her being liminal and khthonic originally as they are/were seen as the point between the living and the dead and the entrance to the underworld. There is a possibility that she could of the Mycenaean goddess Preswa (dove deity), Manasa, or Diwija with Komawenteja: long-haired goddess as an epithet. Another fun little possibility is the indication that Maia is a bi-gendered deity, more than likely a part of her older iteration that survived on a largely diminished scale.
Epithets: With deep dark eyes  Honored mother The nurturer  She who nurtures   Great (Mighty) nurse  Of the lovely black eyes  Maia Prôtogonê - First-born Maia Kedná - Careful, diligent, trusty cherished, dear good, valued Maia Eratoplocamus - Lovely-haired Maia Euplokamos - Having lovely locks Maia Ioplokos/Ioplokamos - With violet hair / With dark locks Maia Kuanokhaitēs - Dark-haired Maia Hulaios - Belonging to the wood or forest Maia Aitherolampēs - Shining in ether Maia Himeronous - Lovely of soul Maia Earotrephḗs - Flourishing in Spring Maia Drymocharēs - Delighting in the woods Maia Philodendros/Philodendron - Fond of trees / Fond of the wood Maia Peleia - The Dove Maia Dôdônides - Of Dodona Maia Ekprepḗs - Distinguished out of all, pre-eminent, remarkable, surpassing Pôtnia Maia - Queenly Maia Maia Aeiphengēs - Ever-shining Maia Nyktaugḗs - Shining by night Maia Asteroommatos - Star-eyed Maia Kyanôpis- Dark-eyed Atlantis - Daughter of Atlas Atlagenes - Born of Atlas Pleias - Daughter of Pleione Maia Kyllḗnē/Kyllênê - Of Mt. Sacred Associations: Doves Pigeons Dodona Arkadia Mt. Kyllene Kingfishers Navigation Sailing June Thirteenth Caves Mountains Winnowing-baskets Night time The color Black Light Blue Dark Blue
Festivals: The month of May, Mounichia (Greek: Μουνιχιών) is important to the sisters as the Pleiades rise and it signifies the start of the navigational year and the time the earth can be sown with seeds again/the growing season is in full swing. The end of October or the month of November is also a festival when they set, the navigational year ends and the growing season ends. The cluster's conjunction with the sun in spring and opposition in fall marked the start and end of the summer sailing season in ancient Greece.
" . . . . . Hi. "
" .... Hi. "
The twins don't mean you any harm not at all they lack any characteristics of the other offsprings. Not only that but also they're truly perfect replicas of the original sisters but it's best to be cautious, not of them but their other family members.
Happy Imbolc
Tumblr media
Origins of Imbolc
Imbolc is a pagan holiday celebrated from February 1 through sundown February 2. Based on a Celtic tradition, Imbolc was meant to mark the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox in Neolithic Ireland and Scotland. The holiday is celebrated by Wiccans and other practitioners of neopagan or pagan-influenced religions. Imbolc is just one of several pre-Christian holidays highlighting some aspect of winter and sunlight, and heralding the change of seasons.
The celebration of Imbolc dates back to the pre-Christian era in the British Isles. The earliest mentions of Imbolc in Irish literature were found in the 10th century. Poetry from that time relates the holiday to ewe’s milk, with the implication of purification.
It’s been speculated that this ritual stems from the breeding cycle of sheep and the beginning of lactation. The holiday was traditionally aligned with the first day of spring and the idea of rebirth.
Brigid the Goddess
Imbolc celebrations took the form of a festival in honor of the pagan goddess Brigid, who was evoked in fertility blessings and oversaw poetry, crafts and prophecy. Brigid was worshipped by the Filid, a class of poets and historians among the Celts of ancient Ireland and Britain.
Brigid was considered one of the most powerful Celtic gods, the daughter of the Dagda, the oldest god in the Celtic pantheon Tuatha du Danann. She had two sisters also named Brigid (though it’s speculated that these sisters are meant to symbolize different aspects of the same goddess.)
Brigid appears in the saga Cath Maige Tuired and the Lebor Gabála Érenn, a purported history of Ireland collected from various poems and texts in the 10th century.
Myths about Brigid’s birth say she was born with a flame in her head and drank the milk of a mystical cow from the spirit world. Brigid is credited with the very first keening, a traditional wailing for the dead practiced at funerals by Irish and Scottish women.
Ancient Imbolc
In pre-Christian times, Imbolc observance began the night before February 1. Celebrants prepared for a visit from Brigid into their homes by crafting an effigy of the goddess from bundles of oats and rushes. The effigy was placed in a dress and put in a basket overnight.
The day of Imbolc was celebrated by rituals including burning lamps and lighting bonfires in tribute to Brigid.
Hi again! So you know how royal children or noble children were brought up by a governess in the past? What if during the first year or so after the daughters' rebirth, Alcina appointed one of the maids to be the girls' governess and said governess watches the girls while Alcina is busy with winery business or dealing with Mother Miranda? How would that go for them? Would they like her, or be like "who tf are you? Where is my mommy??"
Hello again! Funny enough in my own au, the girls did have a governess, but i didn't know the name for it, so I had Adela being their second mom, lol but for this I'll have the governess be a completely different person
Bela
Was not down for this nanny
She refused to stay with her
Tried to follow Alcina anyway
"Mother, I am far more mature than my sisters-"
"HEY!"
"I'm also the oldest so I must know how to be the lady of the house"
Alcina smiles sweetly
Her girls mean well
"Yes well, the lady of the house doesn't hold mommy's dress and hides behind her"
Refuses to listen to the governess
Tries to hide and run off most days
Alcina finally has to sit her down and explain why a governess is needed
Also a little manipulation
"Sigh, well I guess Daniela will have to join me on meetings since she is the only one to listen-"
Not on Bela's fucking watch
180 flip the next day
The governess is fucking relieved
It was difficult hunting down the oldest
Bela doesn't stray far anymore
And if she does
She always tells her where she's going
She comes to know the governess
And she's really not all that bad
Bela comes to enjoy conversations with her
She even tries to help rangle in the other two
*sigh* cass, she said to come eat dinner, quit being a bitch"
"OH that's real fucking rich coming from YOU"
She becomes the easiest one to watch
But the moment Alcina is finished
Bela vanishes
Eager to see her mother
But always telling the governess a goodbye
Cassandra
100% tried to kill the governess the first week
She figured the governess was a hunting toy for them
Alcina also had to sit her down
Multiple times
She finally had to start taking away Cassandra's weapons
Disciplining her like a toddler
She finally gave in
BUT doesn't mean she needs to listen to this babysitter
She usually avoids her
Hiding away in the armory room
Or dungeons
And ignoring whatever she has to say
Until one day
Cassandra overhears a very commanding, powerful voice yelling at the maids
The governess was scolding them for something
The way they all trembled in fear
Cass felt a bit of respect towards her
From there she became easier
She still ignores her
But
She follows whatever is said
"Girls! Remember to clean up the guts in the Opera Room!"
Cass is somehow already there
Cleaning it up
But she does a shitty job
She has to keep some control
She even makes another maid tell the governess where she's at
"You have 2 minutes to find the babysitter and tell her I'm in the Tasting Room or you lose your eyes"
She still doesn't like the governess
But she makes her job slightly less difficult
At least she has the balls to tell Cass what to do
Daniela
SO EXCITED
A new person to talk about her books with
And someone else to just talk to in general
But she also doesn't listen well
She figures if she does it before the day is over
Then it counts!
The governess won't pick this battle
At least Dani does it eventually
She will also drag the governess along with her
The library, garden, dungeons, just about anywhere
Even when the governess might have other tasks to do
Aka tracking down Cass or Bela
Dani helps out
Usually ends in her and Cass doing a WWE Smackdown
"WE'RE SUPPOSED TO TELL HER WHERE WE ARE, CASS!"
"NOT MY FAULT SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO HUNT US DOWN!"
"MOTHER LEFT HER IN CHARGE OF US! MOTHER JUST WANTS US TAKEN CARE OF!"
"FUCK YOU"
At least she's helpful
She also enjoys that mother praises her for being the only one to listen
She has tried to convince her sisters to like her
They listen to her LESS than the governess
Whatever
She doesn't mind having the new friend all to herself
Even when Alcina is all done
She still likes to hang around the governess
Even when they dont need one anymore
Alcina lets her keep a job there
Just as a head maid and highly trusted
Enough that Alcina sees her as a friend
Even with her new spot as head maid
Dani still seeks her out
To conversate and just to hang out with her
Even in your childhood Marie felt as though she was required to look and act a certain way. She would always dress a certain way, act a certain way, and try to prove that just because she was born in a tiny village it did not mean that she could not be a lady worthy of nobility. This earned her more than her fair share of rivals and bullies, but through it all you stuck to her side. When she ran away from home shortly after her sixteenth birthday it was supposedly to find a life worthy of her, but instead all she found was hardship and despair. After you reconnect it is up to you if you will help her climb out of the darkness and whether or not you two can be together as something more than friends.
Rory Graytail* | Guild Blacksmith Age: 23 Height: 5'8" Build: Muscular, curvy Eye Color: Heterochromatic (Left Brown, Right Green) Hair Color: Black/Dark brown Skin Tone: Olive Notable Features: Scar under left eye Combat Style: Lance, strength, and agility Character Traits: Caring, Gruff, Foul-mouthed Tropes: Friends-to-Lovers, Woman in Peril, Teammates
A talented adventurer and prodigy blacksmith, Rory is a member of the adventurers guild in the kingdom's capital. Once the oldest twin, her younger brother died at the same time as their father and since then Rory has become a gruff individual who tends to scare most people away with her bad attitude and brusque tongue. But despite these faults Rory deeply cares for those closest to her and will typically go out of her way to make them feel loved. Unfortunately she also tends to rush into problems without thinking and this has led her into many situations that put her, and those around her, in more danger then they would normally be in.
Shoshanna (Anna) Graytail-Hunter* | Guild Herbalist/Alchemist Age: 26 Height: 6'2” Build: Slender Eye Color: Green Hair Color: Blonde Skin Tone: Pale Notable Features: Very graceful, Extremely shy Combat Style: Ranged (Rifle) Character Traits: Caring, Shy, Excitable, Very intelligent Tropes: Friends-to-Lovers, Love at first sight, Teammates
The resident alchemist for the capital city chapter of the adventurer’s guild, Anna is the adopted daughter of Lillain Graytail, the chapter master. Found with the corpses of her parents by Lillain after a brutal monster attack Anna spent several years in a near catatonic state and when she finally began speaking it was very rare and only in the presence of those she trusts. As she grew Anna discovered a natural talent for alchemy and a love of plants that led to her becoming the chapters resident herbalist and healer though she often goes out on adventures with her best friend Rory and when she does she uses her father’s rifle, a brilliant combination of magic and technology. While not the best shot in the guild she is still better than the average and is a welcome addition to any party.
Lillain Graytail | Guild Chapter Master Age: 110 Height: 5'11" Build: Toned, curvy Eye Color: Hazel Hair Color: Raven Black Skin Tone: Olive Notable Features: Graying hair, faintly glowing eyes Combat Style: High powered magic Character Traits: Caring, Protective, Easy going, Explosive temper Tropes: Office Romance, Sleeping with the Boss, Cougar
The chapter master of the adventurer’s guild chapter house in the kingdom's capital Lillain is a renowned mage who has fought in many wars, saved countless villages from roving monsters, and led the chapter to greater heights than any other chapter has ever managed. When there is a world ending catastrophe brewing Lillain is one of the first sent for by kings and queens from around the world. Despite this she has maintained a humble, easy going attitude and cares for every one of the chapter's members as if they were her own children. God's help anyone who hurts those she cares about though, she has a volatile temper and is quick to lose control when angered.
Essence is a mystery, you know she has spent millenia following you from rebirth to rebirth, but you only know her from your previous life. Your meeting had been the stereotypical meet-cute and you quickly became close. She seemed to know everything about you almost immediately but you never learned much regarding her past. You have been assured that she will never be able to find you in this new world but can someone who has been following you from life to life really be deterred by distance, time, or even dimension?
7, 35, and D for the ask game, please! I'd love to learn about a Mirkwood elf or two you'd like to share!
Oooh thank you so much for asking, it was so hard to choose who to talk about! I decided to pick some of my oldest, from the first round of Mirkwood World Building I did way back in the early 2000s and have since salvaged and revised to put into my current version of the forest:
Angmeril & Merilgais
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're sisters, both Silvan Elves of Greenwood who fought in the Last Alliance, sole survivors of their family (mom and brother both died in Oropher's Charge; dad had disappeared years earlier, and they never learned if he made it to the Sea or was taken/killed by Mogoth). The elder (Angmeril) ends up marrying Thranduil after the war and is mom to Rílaerloth and Legolas.
Questions take from this list. [picrew source]
7. What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?
For Angmeril (who in most of the stories I write has to eventually cross the Sea after being near-fatally injured fighting orcs in the early years of the Shadow) it's days when the light in Valinor hits the leaves of Taur-nu-Glaw just right to remind her of the dappled leaves of the Greenwood; or when the wind shifts so that she can no longer smell the sea, but only the loam and greenery of the forest, and it makes her think of the home she lost and the family she had to leave behind there.
For Merilgais, I think she actually experiences nostalgia the most after the War of the Ring, when the Shadow is lifted and Mirkwood starts to grow green and bright (relatively) again. I think that while she's glad, of course she is, that the Shadow has lifted, she is a little sad, too, because this isn't a real rebirth for her woods: it's a temporary reprieve before the Fading. I think she spent so long immersed in the darkness of Mirkwood, fighting the Shadow, that she misses it a little now: misses the way the woods used to be, dark and dangerous though it was; because it was also her forest. She was used to it, she knew it, she loved it even when it was at its darkest.
And now when a storm rolls in, and the clouds are thick, and the light that streams down into their trees is at its faintest—when she's in the deepest, darkest parts of the woods, where the traces of the Shadow linger most; when she's in a glade or grove or cavern where the darkness has not yet been wholly banished; then she remembers what her woods felt like at their worst, and when she felt at her most alive fighting back against the Shadow, laughing in the dark.
35. How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive?
Generally supportive, yes, both of them—for the most part.
Angmeril can be a little leery of things that are unfamiliar or especially dangerous, due mostly to her having been in enough positions of responsibility (a commander of Greenwood's warriors; an older sister; a parent) that she learned to take into consideration things like "will this ridiculous idea get you killed, you dummy?" — and because she's generally more aware of the concept of consequences than Merilgais is, and is thus a little less keen to just yeet herself at every passing fancy that catches her eye.
Somebody has to be the responsible party, after all, and we all know that's never going to be Merilgais.
Angmeril's sense of duty is very strong, and as with Thranduil, the good of The Forest always comes first (that's how they ended up together in the first place lol). That said, she's still only responsible by comparison to the rest of the Greenwood, so that's a pretty low bar. (This is the "charge 'em and they scatter" forest, after all.)
So if it's something that isn't absolutely 100% without a doubt going to get you and everyone with you killed, don't be an idiot! then yes, they will both be supportive of even very madcap and ridiculous ideas, and very quick to go along for the ride also. (Merilgais will go along for the ride even if it will probably get you all killed.)
And they're both extremely supportive of silly nonsense, and protective of childish joy and whimsy (in both children and adults). Neither of them are the sort of people who worry about "looking like a fool," but even if they did, it wouldn't stop them from engaging in any sort of game or play that makes an elfling happy, or cheers somebody up after a bad day.
It doesn't take either of them long to get on board with the utterly absurd concept of having a dwarf in the family, either, once they see how happy he makes Legolas.
D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?
Yep, they have changed really not at all from their first inception, actually. Short, spindly little things with oak-brown hair and faces, and grey eyes in which hints of deep forest green can sometimes be seen; one stoic with her humor showing mostly in small smirks and the sharp glitter of her eyes, and the other laughing wildly with leaves in her hair and her sharp teeth flashing in the dark.
Neither one of them goes in much for fancy jewels or fine clothes (although they both learn to appreciate the former a little more once Gimli joins the family, because they're not heartless and thus couldn't possibly refuse presents made for them with such care!) and Merilgais is forever a bit of a feral wild-child, running barefoot through her trees, her thick braids as disheveled as it's really possible for an elf to look; and Angmeril only really looks as responsible and dignified as she does because she's standing next to Merilgais.
(She doesn't wear shoes much either; she just looks less like a feral creature and more like an eldritch forest spirit.)
Angmeril does let her hair grow-out after she sails to Valinor, which necessitates some fancier hairstyles to keep it up out of her way (she learned to like it short after she chopped it off that first time, so when it's long she wears it mostly in buns and updos) but only because she's waiting for Thranduil to join her before she chops it all off again.
She wants him to be there to see the horrified faces of all the Noldor and Vanyar when she does.
—Thank you for asking @fishing4stars it was so much fun to talk about my favorite forest cryptid sisters!
