INKTOBER DAY 20: Mythology

Drawing this was a spiritual experience. I recently saw a stunning picture of the infamous Angel of Death Victorious statue by Herman Matzen and was awestruck. It was clear what I needed to do for this prompt. Drawing Abby as the Haserot Angel was so interesting, this piece practically oozes with symbolism. I know the sculpture includes an inverted torch but I felt called to a battle axe for some reason. Thanks for looking and sticking around. Every comment, share, etc has been wonderful. By the way in case anyone was wondering, Angel’s fangs can retract if they’re not kept from doing it by, say, wires. I wondered about the logistics of this for quite awhile until I stumbled across this horrible fish:

It’s called a payara, or more appropriately, a Dracula fish. And it has holes in its jawline for its fangs to go into when it closes its mouth.

So that’s…probably how Angel’s fangs work. I try not to think about it. Or the fact that this fish exists because it is a nightmare creature.
