Butterflies

Some king, i dunno who, and also i don't care who, found out about Merlin's magic, kidnapped him and a few knights of our choosing... hm... how about Gwaine, Lance and Percy?

Merlin is shackled in cold iron, kneeling in front of the throne. Off to the side three of his friends kneel, stripped of their armour and weapons.

King: I will take those shackles off of you and you will slaughter the army of Camelot sent to retrieve you.

Merlin: Go fuck yourself

King: If you don't comply I will kill your friends.

Lance: Merlin! Don't! Whatever they will do to us, Arthur is coming! Just wait for Arthur! Don't risk yourself!

Merlin: Alright. Take the shackles off. I'll take down the soldiers.

King: *believes him*

Merlin: *kills all the guards in the room so Gwaine, Lance and Percy are free. Pushes the king into his throne before magically binding him there* You know, people always are so demanding. Do this Merlin, do that Merlin, make this happen Merlin. Do you wanna know what I wanna do?

King: *whimpers*

Merlin: I just want to make some fucking butterflies. *swarm of butterflies bursts forward from his body, fluttering towards the king and slowly eats him*

Knights: *sweatdrop*

Arthur, who just fought his way into the room to rescue his friends (internally): i'll give merlin a day off... whenever he asks.

Merlin: *watches as a butterfly lands on his finger as if he's a disney princess.* life really is much prettier with butterflies.

You know when a part of a fanfic just sticks with you for life?

I remember reading a cherik fic, this must have been over a decade ago now after First Class came out. And there was a scene where Charles breaks down and tells Erik, him continually telling Charles to stay out of his head, was Eric making him hide his power, repress his mutant self. And Erik’s whole world crumbles. 

For the life of me I can't remember the fic, and I've never been able to find it again. But yeah, I still think about that amazing scene every time I watch First Class.

When I was in middle school I got an F on an art project because we were doing something with knights and medieval art, and the teacher wanted something that indicated royalty. I used purple because it was a very expensive dye and only royalty could afford it. She was looking for gold. She was wrong, and 40+ years later I'm still salty about it.

when i was a kid i got a 90% on my kindergarten "what are your favorite things?" test because for the question "what is your favorite animal?" i wrote down "puma" and it got marked wrong because my teacher said a puma isnt even an animal its a kind of shoe
