"I sort fics by kudos and only kudos on stories with high kudos counts, why aren't there more stories with high kudos, I ran out of things to read." You're part of the problem.
"Authors artificially inflate comment counts by thanking people, I can't find anything with a real comment count to read." No they fucking are not, they're grateful for engagement.
"I can't read anything under 100k." That's the majority of fics you're ignoring, most novels aren't even that long.
"I don't have time to look for the incredibly rare diamond in the rough, so I won't read anything below a certain amount of kudos, comments, and hits." Those fics are popular because people gave them a chance and then snobs like you found them.
"I won't read anthing with a single typos." You made typos in that sentence, get off your high horse.
"One singular author didn't thank me for commenting, I'm never commenting on any fic again so I don't get burned." You're punishing people because someone didn't give you engagement they don't owe you that they might not have seen.
"This fic is three months old, it's so old, it doesn't matter if I comment or kudos, it's old." Fics do not have expiration dates, comment and kudos.
You're killing your fandoms with your snobbish behaviors.

“Antiship is punk!” has the same energy as “being conservative is the new punk!”
Proship is an inherently punk ideology. The production of transgressive and taboo art is an inherently punk thing. You cannot be against the production of weird fiction and be punk because punk is about liberation for the weird and estranged people of society and the right to freedom of expression.

The main difference between the weather being uncomfortably cold, and the weather being uncomfortably hot, is that the things you can do in the cold to warm yourself up (hot food/beverage, blankets, cuddles, nice clothes like sweaters, thick scarves and snazzy jackets, getting exercise) are very pleasant and very effective, and the things you can do in the heat to cool yourself down don't do shit.

“A person who died 600 years ago becomes a person to fight over -were they gay, or bisexual? Did she marry a man out of true desire, or was she a lesbian trapped in a loveless marriage? Is this person simply a cross-dressing feminine man, or a trans woman lacking the vocabulary of contemporary gender expression?
Rarely, if we go back more than a hundred years, do we find people who match contemporary queer identities exactly. There are women who love women, men who love men, and people whose sense of gender did not fit a rigid binary. But these people were largely not using terms like 'gay', 'bisexual"', 'lesbian' or 'trans', which only go back a century or so.
I hope to push away from this infighting around ownership of LGBTQ+ historical figures, so we can share our icons, heroes and idols. Because of the sheer complexity, I believe no particular identity should claim sole ownership of any person's life.
This even goes for mythical beings. Is a mermaid a feminist symbol or is she a queer symbol, or do merfolk say something about race, or dis-ability? Ownership of people and symbols by minority groups, both within and outside the queer umbrella, is obviously a powerful and meaningful thing. I will endeavour to treat this with respect.”

Now this is a really interesting origin story when you consider how the show brought Puck and Daniel together.
Not that I believe the Sandman's Puck is the son of Oberon. But the possibility of him being born half human/half fae. A part of both worlds, but belonging to neither. Then having that humanity stripped from him to become something ‘better’, something that locks you in servitude without a choice.
Isn't that just a perfect mirroring of Daniel's own journey?
Some of you may have missed this...

I took for granted that everyone else caught on to what Titania was doing here.   In The Sandman issue 19 (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) Titania entices Shakespeare’s young son.
Historically this young boy died but in Neil Gaiman’s world, he was taken by faeries.   In this scene Titania is not only enticing him to come with her to the realm of Faerie but she is also feeding him faerie fruit (sometimes called goblin fruit or fairy food).
In folklore if you eat food from a faerie you belong to them   In some lore it begins the process of transforming you into a faery yourself.  This is loosely played on in Jim Henson’s The Labyrinth with Jareth’s peach, and is a major plot point in Christina Rossetti’s The Goblin Market.
“We must not look at goblin men, We must not buy their fruits: Who knows upon what soil they fed Their hungry thirsty roots?”
This scene, in the above image, is Titania laying claim to (and beginning the transformation of) Shakespeare’s son into her faery.

Eddie Munson grew up poor. He learned not to be wasteful. To cut the mold from the edge of the cheese. To freeze the leftovers. Habits like that stick with you, even after you become a vampire-like being. So when the fight is over and Steve is covered in blood, not a single drop will be wasted

Love that when Dream is sad or hurt or depressed it rains in the Dreaming. Wish it could work like this in real life too, imagine being sad and depressed and it rains until you feel better. How can I have his power?

Danielllllll 😭❤️ he’s so precious. Jacob did an exceptional job portraying him. The only thing I would change is the hair color so of course I drew it 😌

I think the way to look at it is Destiny isn't powerless, rather he's purposely passive. He's reactive to his function rather than proactive. And that's his personal choice.
Destiny contains all that is Time, (in pre Sandman DC comics he contains all that is Time AND Night.) He's the embodiment of all that is. Just as Dream embodies all that isn't.
He's probably one of the most powerful beings in the Sandman Universe. But his commitment to his duty and his strict adherence to rules (defined in him being chained to his book, in my opinion anywho) means he refuses to manipulate that which he controls, merely observe. The more interesting question would definitely be why he acts this way? And what would happen if he allowed himself to play hard and fast with the law. I mean… The one time we see him unleash his feelings in the comics, he levels a city! Right down to the dust bunnies!
The Fates aren't merely the Greek Moirai, they're something more, the Three, the personification of every triad that has existed in mythology. A variety of different aspects all rolled into three beings, the Maiden/ Mother and Crone. As such I don't believe they need the worship and belief of mortals to continue their existence. They ARE fate. Their purpose is to bring it about. Meaning they need to be more proactive than Destiny himself.
It's not canon, but in Greek mythology they're the issue of Time and Ananke (Necessity). Or the fatherless daughters of Night. Only later do they get recast as the daughters of Zeus. So I always headcanon they've got some level of power/ancestry equal to the Endless.
It's never truly defined but I'd argue Destiny is the paths travelled in life. He embodies every path that one ‘could’ travel, hence the ever changing maze that is The Garden of Forking Ways. Fate is the ultimate, inescapable destination. So in many ways, Destruction was right, Destiny also defines Freedom. What paths you take in life are your own choice. And your fate is defined by said choice.
Not to be a hater, but Destiny seems weirdly powerless to me. He reads his book – doesn't even write it – and reads it in real time, so he doesn't even really know the future, and the Fates are more powerful than him. (Also, what's even the difference between destiny and fate? Why do both things have seperate entities? And why is the greek-gods-version of the concept more powerful than the Endless-version, when the power of gods depends on belief in them in the Sandman-verse and noone in modern day believes in the greek pantheon anymore?)
