I have admired the work of the amazing @anotherwellkeptsecret for YEARS, following her originally from the height of my Sherlock obsession all the way until now where she has (to my delight!) crossed over into Good Omens as well.

She also just had a baby!!!! So partly as a congratulations, partly as a thank you for being such an artistic inspiration, and partly so I could practice my own digital art techniques and play with Procreate for the first time, I asked if she would allow me the privilege of coloring some of her favorite pages from her comics while she's on maternity leave. And she said yes!

But she asked me to pick my favorites instead. So I took her at her word and chose one favorite page from each of the ten comics I have saved and loved over the years.

Exactly two weeks later (and in no particular order) here is the final result!! I am so grateful to Kelley for letting me do this, and I have discovered so much about my own style and what I like (excessive lights, apparently lol). I hope you guys like them as much as I do, and please please please go support Kelley's tumblr and Patreon, she absolutely deserves the world. 💕

So I have more designs for the AU; Elita as I showed a couple days ago, and then Jazz and Bumblebee, whom I’ve already designed before, just with a few tweaks, mainly color wise

I think after Elita I was going to draw more of her and her past, but then today I felt bad that I hadn’t done much with Jazz or Bumblebee, so I drew them again

I think they all look pretty good in all honesty, but the annoyance today more comes from myself, and the fact that as I drew Jazz and Bee, I realized back then I was trying to branch out more with the designs. Like Bumblebee’s head is a circle instead of a rectangle, and Jazz's body was more of an oval (well they're all ovals, but he was longer)

I'm like damn, what happened. I used to be better at these designs

But anyways, Jazz I didn't change much other than some color things. Bee meanwhile, I redesigned his chassis, it's supposed to look closer to his TF One design, changed up the hues of some colors, and gave him door wings. I only realized afterwards that Jazz also usually has those, but oh well, not sure if they'd work on his design anyways

Also I have a smaller Elita design, with the idea of this being before it was known her powers were so unstable. The head cones are supposed to be like indicators of her danger level power wise, like they'd flash red when she's in the danger zone or something

I don't really have more on any of these guys plot wise either. I've probably covered Elita's lore somewhere else, and Jazz I don't have much else for either. Bee's the closest because I've been debating the idea he was raised by Beastformers while not being one himself. But I don't know how the Beastformers work yet or how they differ, so it's just an idea on the dart board

Anyways yeah, not much else to say I think

Hi @potahun, I'm your gifter for the Heishin Valentine Exchange and I picked your Ghibli movie prompt and went with Howl's Moving Castle c:

Close ups and explanations below~

It took me a bit of time to figure out which character I wanted to be who, but I settled with Shinichi as Howl and Heiji as Sophie! I think the idea of Shinichi being an other worldly character like Howl isn't too far off from how he is depicted in canon. From an outsider's perspective, Shinichi seemingly has all the answers to the many cases he comes across. Especially with the way Heiji reveres Shinichi, it's not hard to see him as someone larger than life. (Also Shinichi transforming into a bird creature whenever he intervenes in the war kind of fits with how he transforms into Conan in canon as he investigates the Black Organization)

As for Heiji as Sophie, I feel that putting Heiji in a position where he becomes old can parallel his struggle with his family's (particularly his father) distrust in him being a teen detective. But in this case, Heiji initially fears that growing old hinders his ability to remain a detective. Throughout the course of the film, his fears would be assuaged as Heiji helps end the ongoing war in spite of his age.

Now for the art itself, originally I wanted to pick one scene to focus on so that I could combine this prompt with your Heishin whump prompt. But then I figured it would be neat to take inspiration from the movie's song Merry Go Round of Life. The large ring was intended to mimic the roof and rim of a merry-go-round. Like imagine the roof and then you squish it down (if that makes lol)! The rims on merry-go-rounds often feature a circular frame with images of landscapes within. For that, I recreated backgrounds from the movie.

Given the name of the song, I felt that I should recreate different scenes from the movie to show the progression of Heiji and Shinichi's lives (I would've drawn Heiji much older but I was just struggling on how to execute that properly TT-TT). From right to left the scenes are; Shinichi intervenes in the war; Heiji views the meadow Shinichi shared with him; baby Shinichi cronches on a star; Heiji watches the parade celebrating the war effort; and Shinichi stares fondly at Heiji within the castle.
