signal fire | open starter
let superminho save you from a fire
The city was ablaze, flames licking at the buildings and smoke filling the air. Amidst the chaos, Minho stood tall, his eyes fixed on the inferno before him.
He was the son of Njord, and the flames seemed to dance in his presence, drawn by an invisible wind. With a deep breath, he steadied himself and prepared to enter the burning building.
As a firefighter, he had faced many dangers before, but nothing could have prepared him for the intensity of this blaze. The heat was unbearable, and the flames seemed to consume everything in their path.
But Minho was determined to save as many lives as he could. With each step, he felt the power of his heritage coursing through his veins, giving him the strength to push through the flames.
He burst into a room, his eyes scanning for any signs of life. And there, huddled in a corner, was a person, huddled in fear.
The demigod rushed towards them, his arms reaching out to guide them to safety. "Come on," he said, his voice steady and reassuring. "I'll get you out of here."

The Archive Undying by @emcandon

You and your annoying uni friend slash occasional roommate Endo who likes to crash at your place unprompted and unannounced at random times. Despite your pouts and groans you enjoy his presence as much as he does.
He’s an impressive artist with wonderful line work, his newest works always has you waiting to see the end result, watching with great focus as he works on them on your floor in the dead of the night
And he’s great company too. A beer cracked open, snacks all around and it’s just the two of you shittalking others, gossiping and being mean just because you can and oh—
is it not fun to spend time with him like that- to the point he has become perhaps the closest to you. Each others confidants, secret keepers, the number one victim to drag when the other one is trying something new or going to a new place.
So it’s no surprise when you whine about how boring and lonely things have gotten lately and you just miss a good ol heated making out session. Maybe a little handsy if türe feeling up to it, maybe even a little grinding if the night looks promising.
Before the two of you know, your hot breaths are all over each other, Endo’s hands at both sides, pulling you into his lap with strength and pressing you against that aching spot in his pants just to relieve himself as you bite into his neck and mark him up in red

what do you think of other ships?
nanago, shokohime, sukugo, sugusho, etc.
i think that’s what they are— ships. stsg isn’t a ship because “shipping” implies you’re taking two characters and putting them together because the text doesn’t do it for you. that’s not the case with jjk; stsg isn’t a ship because their romance is already written into the text itself.
there’s no work for you to do because the story of jjk couldn’t have set sail without their relationship at its core. everyone else requires work because there’s no textual evidence, only conjecture; ergo, inviting the practice of “shipping” to create a connection between characters. stsg isn’t a ship, they just are— it’s up to you whether you choose to remain willfully blind or not.

"Really?" Minho's eyes widened with interest at how Angela's son now had a rock star as his babysitter. "Yeah, I don't think I should mess around with that arrangement. I still want Siwoo to call me his friend." Not that he would even make any moves at attempting to "steal" Charlotte's attention from the little boy. Minho was a fan of HEXED's music as simple as that.
Minho's expression however became more and more intrigued at Angela's protests about Cedric. The fireman had seen the hot detective a few times around the station, and had a good impression about him. His general excess of muscles might have added to that impression, but not that Angela needed to know that. As shallow as Minho's initial interest had been, it had drawn the firefighter to try to find out more about the man and now here he finds out he might have asked Angela out? Very very interesting.
But Minho cared quite a lot about Angela that his teasing wouldn't go beyond if it made her uncomfortable, so he just smiled and waved his hands reassuringly. "Okay, okay, sorry for prying. I thought he might have finally realized how awesome you were and took the plunge...but then..." Minho trailed off a little speculation in his voice.
"Can you tell me what the prize was again for winning the couple costume contest?"
catching up
minhomp:
“Ahh Siwoo beating me again, Charlotte’s my bias too.” Minho says without embarrassment, actual pride that one of his favorite bands was now getting more recognition. “His taste in music is impeccable, good for him.” He added with another smile. “You think he’d show me the album if I asked him with treats?”
Just as he noticed Angela checking him over for any source of fatigue, Minho did the same, trying to see any signs of telltale fatigue on the young mom’s face. While Angela was definitely one of the strongest people he knew, he also knew first hand how it was the strong ones you have to take extra care of.
“I never would have guessed you to dress up in a couple costume,” Minho says now, not exactly fishing but the curious look on his face gave him away. He had spotted the Harley Quinn to Angela’s Poison Ivy but hadn’t had the time to confront Angela at the party if there was something more there.
“Did my eyes deceive me though? Did you hook Mr. Teddy Bear Detective as your Halloween date?” Minho wiggled his eyebrows for emphasis.
Angela chuckled, resting her hand on her forehead as she shook his head. “You should see him when he gets in front of her. He is a bumbling mess, but he is charming enough to make me think that his father is some god related to love.” Taking a step around, she moved to go to her counter, making them both a warm glass of tea. She had found some stress reducing tea from the pharmacy that had been working wonders for her. Nodding her head, she reassures the other. “I’m sure a hug would do the trick, and he might even put in a good word for you. Charlotte babysits him.”
As she lifted her tea to her lips, she paused as she looked over at Minho while she spoke. She was glad she had stopped herself from drinking or else she was sure she would have sputtered it out. Heat rose to her cheeks, but she did her best to hide it from the other. A few others had came to her asking similar questions, and she had been fast to reassure them that it was nothing. But with now him asking, she wondered if she was missing something.
“Your thoughts are in the wrong direction!” She spoke, a bit too abrupt. Pausing, Angela took a sip of her tea, hoping for that needed stress relief. “Cedric asked me to go with him. And, I would not say it was a couple’s costume either. They are best friends, supposedly, in that comic! And, if I had known that dress was that… revealing.. I definitely would have chose something different!” Angela felt weird at the concept even of her in a relationship. This was something she definitely never foresaw for herself. In her eyes, she was far too broken for love.

decompress | open starter
Minho leaps out of the truck, his equipment at the ready. The heat of the flames washes over him, but he wraps a gentle breeze around him as if to steel himself for the task ahead. He and his crew work together, using hoses and axes to beat back the fire and keep it from spreading.
It's hard, grueling work, but Minho doesn't falter. He knew that lives are at stake, and he was determined to do everything in his power to protect them. And in the end, their efforts pay off - the fire was contained, and everyone is safe.
As Minho returns to the fire station, exhausted but triumphant, he feels a sense of pride in what you do. Being a firefighter isn't just a job - it's a calling, a way to make a real difference in the world, or at least here on the island. He was at least smiling to himself as he followed the rest of the crew inside only to blink at the familiar, not-so-familiar figure hovering at the entrance.
"Hey, were you waiting for me?"

Eyrie in 👘 for the screenshot meme?
Tumblr media
eyrie doesn't have much of the traditional clothes they used to wear, sadly ;--; but it was a lot of natural materials--wool and leathers for keeping the warm in and water + cold out. a fair bit of layers to take on and off as the temperatures changed

Minho pulled back with a more than a little relief recognizing Theo who quickly took hold of the situation. While he was technically a licensed paramedic (blame his overachieving ass), it wasn't as if he practiced, and it would better to have an actual professional do the assessment.
"Yeah," He nods at Theo's remarks, a slight grin on his face. "Nothing says a change more than trying out a gym membership." His eyes drifted towards the full glass windows that did nothing but show the flurry of the blizzard. "Looks like we are gonna be here a while," A soft sigh and he stands to fetch the phone in his gym shorts.
"You good here? I think I better go check on the rest of the crowd..." His eyes sweep towards the gym goers that were now starting to filter back in after changing their clothes. "Need to call this in just in case. Would you know the owner's number?"
"Maybe we could transfer him to the infirmary when he's more stable..." Minho adds, eyes drifting back towards the still unconscious dude. "At least it would keep the others calm not seeing somebody passed out like this. Wouldn't want them to panic..."
just in time;
minhomp:
The flurry didn’t bother Minho that morning, only making a mental note to himself to pack an extra jacket just in case it got a bit worse. And worse it got. Emergency message aside, Minho would have been fine to wait out the storm and probably see if the station needed him to come in. But of course it didn’t have to be that easy.
A sharp cry from another gym goer was the only warning he heard before he saw another guy collapse from the Chest press. He was too far to catch him and Minho winced at the resounding thud of the other guy’s head hitting the machine next to his echoed across the gym.
“Stand back please,” He was there in an instant, calmly asking the rest of the gym goers to give the unconscious man some room. Checking for a pulse he quickly dials 911 and turns back to the onlookers. “Looks like we’re gonna be here a while folks. I suggest we all get changed to keep warm. I’ll stay with sir here.”
His calm voice and authoritative stance quickly bid them off and he waits for the paramedic to arrive, calling him over as soon as he heard him.
“Yeah, he collapsed from the chest press a little bit after the emergency message came out.” He said by way of explanation. “I wasn’t sure if I could move him.”
It was a bit of a relief to see Minho at the scene, considering Theo was fairly sure that they were going to be stuck in the gym for a while. It would be good to have another first responder there in case anything went wrong or the storm got even worse. After all, in bad situations people could panic and do really stupid things - having another clear-headed person around would be essential to keeping people calm if things got to a real state of emergency.
“Good call not moving him,” he noted when he saw the head injury, pulling out a neck brace and carefully putting it on the patient, just in case. He then took a minute to check the man’s pulse, respiration and pupillary response. “Seems like he might have just over-exerted himself and fainted, but it’s hard to tell for sure without knowing if he has any underlying conditions. It’s not uncommon for people to hit the gym a little too hard in January to try to get a head start on their New Year’s resolutions, you know? He picked a bad time to do it, with this freak storm and all.”
He sat back for a moment, pulling some supplies out of his kit. “I’ll clean up the wound and run an IV, and I’ll reassess once he wakes up. I don’t think we’re going to be able to transport him to the hospital until the snow lets up, though; the roads and visibility are pretty bad out there.”
