Nasir Post Epiphany Situation (I'm So Sorry for This Man)

So um... yeah, Nasir ran as soon as he saw shit start to go down up at the monastery (in his defense, he did panic and his first thought was not "I should go all the way up there and save Kurthnaga" but "Oh, I should make sure that I live through this and also that everyone on my crew makes it out of here alive"), gathered up his crew, and fled for wherever he was keeping his ship. (Most likely wherever the closest available port would be, but not the point here. I also do not know where that would be. Where would that be chat.)

He did not incur any injuries as he had somewhat of a head start and he and the members of his crew spent the month at sea, waiting for things to blow over before returning to Garreg Mach. He ultimately returned some time soon after the final battle and reunited with both Kurth and Ena. (See the drabble on Ena's blog).

While I haven't talked much about his ships crew before, other than mentions of them in posts, I imagine at this point in his life, after having returned to Goldoa, their ranks are made up of a mixture of younger beorc sailors (he dismissed any older beorc members of his crew to go back home to their families) and dragon laguz, mostly white dragons. He keeps them on pay even though they are not sailing at the current moment, allowing them to enjoying their time in Fodlan as if it were an all expenses paid vacation. This has nothing to do with his shift, but more of a fun fact.

Despite how he may seem at times, he does actually feel rather guilty for leaving Kurth behind in his panic, but would rather not have to confront what he did at this current point in time. That's too much of a complicated emotion for him to not shove down and pretend that it meant nothing :)

For Nasir's arc leading up to his probable August lore participation, he is slipping back into a lot of old habits, and will continuously shift the blame onto others if he has to. (The blame shifting is unrelated to his old habits.) (Lots of lying, and much less opening up than he might have done in the past.)

He is not an ultimately very good person - though that is part of what makes him fascinating to me - and while he hasn't shown much of his overtly spiteful side since arriving in TOA, until he's fully confronted with consequences and some sort of life altering event happens (sorry Dheg, whatever punishment you inflict on him isn't going to be enough in this case), he will be much more outwardly hostile because instead of internalizing his feelings and processing them like a normal person, he lashes out at others.

While he may be able to be more reasonable and objective at a later point, until he has another character shift, he's going to be far quicker to respond with anger and hostility than anything else, especially with strangers.

He does not know the full extent of what happened, nor who is responsible, but because of the circumstances that he could have observed and seeing Fodlan fall into war, he is sorely disappointed in the people of this land. While not surprised, he is still disappointed that his more cynical worldview was proven correct in this instance. Good luck Fodlan muses especially on this one, you're going to need it.

Ideally, he will be able to have some meaningful threads before August that could bring him back around somewhat, but I'm also fine with him remaining like this until then. Whatever happens happens, and I'm going to hit him with a truck <3

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

When I first watched this episode, I was very confused about Lestat's motivations for being at the trial. During Claudia's execution, I kept thinking, why isn't he moving? Just do something. Help her.

I understand now that Lestat, at this point, is much weaker than usual for reasons that haven't yet been fully explored. From interviews with Sam Reid, I also learned that there was no way Lestat would miss this trial. However, Lestat isn't a planner—he arrived, memorized his lines, yet was utterly unprepared for what was about to unfold. The only thing he knew for sure was that he was going to save Louis. That was his sole plan.

When Claudia says, "It's never been about me," you can see the guilt and shame in Lestat's eyes. Yet, when she announces her plan to kill everyone in the crowd after her death, he's staring at her with pride.

I believe Lestat did a lot of reflecting while in his coffin, pondering how he ended up in this situation and what led his fledglings to turn against him. I think he was actually proud of Claudia for successfully orchestrating his murder. She outsmarted him, and he had entirely underestimated her. This final act of violence made them equals in his eyes.

However, I don't think Lestat ever truly saw himself as a 'father.' He had no example of good parenting in his human life and this had no idea how to treat a child. From the beginning, he was referred to as Uncle Les while Louis took on the paternal role. Then, when Claudia became an adult, Lestat was forced to regard her as a sister.

The idea that someone could look to him as a father wasn't even conceivable to Lestat. In Claudia's final moments, when she looks to him like a child looks to a parent for help, it is horrifying on so many levels. It shocks him to his core when he realizes that he is her father and that he's letting her die right before his eyes. And even worse, Claudia was right—it was never about her.

Why does Ren have 4 ears? Are they all real or is one set fake?

Hehe I’ve gotten this question a lot actually! They’re all real— I like to think hybridization isn’t always a clean balance of traits, so Ren just unfortunately ended up with two sets of ears— his Dog ears being much more receptive to sound, naturally— and sometimes when the extra intake of sound is too overwhelming, I imagine he wears earplugs in his human ears to help adjust :> it’s a bit weird, but idk! i like to make designs funky and nonconventional! I liked the idea that Ren had hearing struggles due to wonky hybridization and just kept the concept :>

I was reading back through caged lungs and I realized just how many times Donnie got hit in the head during the last fight and how hard, no wonder Leo is concerned about brain damage.

Also, when Donnie goes to see April at the end of chapter 2, is he just dissociating really hard or is that an actual physical symptom from the…everything really!

not to mention the oxygen deprivation with raph throttling him! the last fight is so visceral and nasty and it was the final nail in the coffin when it came to donnie's issues physically and mentally, because although he would have been terrified of them regardless i dont think it wouldve been "inconsolable screaming heap at the sound of raph's voice" like it was in the early bit of CW.

and id mark that as dissociation personally. the second he registered as being in relative safety he kind of shut down because he wasn't able to process it, which had kind of been a running coping mechanism through the last month or so of CL. MIND YOU: IT IS NOT HELPED ALONG BY THE BRAIN FOG CAUSED BY HIS TIME IN ISOLATION, its a nasty concoction of problems. and also yeah physical exhaustion definitely doesnt help! he ran all the way to april's apartment while actively starving, after all.

although itll get better after [REDACTED PLOT THREAD] is handled, i think dissociation is gonna be something donnie will be dealing with for years, because spending four days in a quiet, enclosed dark space has some extremely messed up consequences for your brain and body. it was also in general something he used to cope under the abuse, so i could see him having issues with it when he's not in his right mind (sick or sleep-deprived, for example), i could see him regressing back to that old mindset when something like that happens. his perception of reality is permanently a little fucked :(
