but he’s suddenly shy. james has had plenty of luck with girls. he’s a flirt by nature. he knows all the right things to say, the ways to sweep them off their feet. that is before he saw you… he’s now well and truly tongue tied. he’s literally like lying in bed at night planning what he wants to say to you next time he sees you. spoiler alert he just gets scared and watches you from across the great hall like this 🧍

but finally he pulls himself together and approaches you the next time he sees you. you’re sat in the back of the library on a window seat reading through a book you found which explains how the greek gods were actually early forms of wizards and witches, very interesting stuff you know? you don’t even notice him lingering over you till he sort of awkwardly coughs and asks “would you recommend it? the - the book i mean would you recommend it?” he asks and he can feel heat creeping up his neck as you nod and smile up at him. “tell me about it!” he practically spits out in the next second. he’s so embarrassing i love him

you agree because he’s cute and everyone’s always talking about what a nice boy james potter is to you. of course you don’t know that they only do that you because they see the way james looks at you but hey what you don’t know can’t hurt you? so you move along on your seat and james shuffles in beside you. the first thing you notice is how he smells like cinnamon, oranges and something slightly earthy that is just so james. the next thing you notice is the way his knee and his shoulder press against yours on the small window seat. it’s warm and intimate and you feel flustered as you start to explain the greek myths to him. he watches you as you speak, watches the way your lashes brush your cheek, watches the way your lips move as you talk.

it’s nice to just be listened to for a change so this becomes your pattern. you see a side to james in these afternoon reading sessions that very few people are privy too. the normally loud and cocky potter is gentle and polite. happy to just sit and watch you devotedly. he makes it so natural too so you forget that you’re introverted, you tell him what your favourite things, things that make you angry, your hopes, your dreams everything. and in that time you start to fall for him. you can’t help it he’s so easy to love. you try to hide this new discovery but its hard to go from telling james everything to keeping such a huge secret from him and so he notices the absence. he doesn’t know what it is but he knows you’re keeping something and so he’s hurt if he’s honest.

so you avoid him. you can’t face the sad puppy look on his face it cuts you up and so you pretend you don’t see him waiting for you in the library, pretend you don’t hear the tapping on your door, or the notes stuffed in your pocket. because hopefully he’ll get bored move on and you’ll get over him. but james potter is determined and so enamoured by you that he’ll try one last time. and so he hides a book in your room. the book is his diary with the pages from all his time with you bookmarked. in it are lists of your favourite things, tiny sketches of you, details on how he feels about you and he ends it with “vicky darling i don’t know what i did but please know i’m eternally sorry. you’ve made a mess of me, i’d do anything to just see you again. don’t you know i love you? if you feel the same meet me at our window seat. if i don’t see you there i will accept that you truly don’t feel the same and i will leave you be. yours forever, james” you find yourself wiping tears as you read it realising how silly you’ve been.

and so with haste you race to the window seat in the library and when you see him there all anxious and shy your heart aches. “ you’ve made a mess of me too james” you say softly as you sit beside him and his face lights up. “can i make it better?” he asks huskily and you nod. his hands cup your face as he leans in and kisses you. he tastes like maple syrup, he smells like spices and he feels like home. it’s perfect and as he walks you back to your dorm with a promise of a date in hogsmede and a soft kiss to your forehead you feel giddy as you lay down under the covers that night because james potter loves you and you love him.

your reading thing doesn’t stop it’s just that now when you read to him he’ll have his arm around your waist and his free hand will trace hearts on the small sliver of skin that peaks out there between your uniform skirt and shirt. he doesn’t actually disturb you though because he finds it so relaxing to hear your voice. if you want to stop him and kiss him though he’s not gonna complain.

he loves visiting cemeteries with you. you offhandedly mentioned once how you were gonna visit one, you didn’t invite him though because you were worried he’d think it was weird. but then he sort of shyly asks “can i come too?” and you laugh and nod. the two of you pack a picnic and spend the whole day exploring the graveyard with each other in quite intimacy. your hands constantly intertwined as you walk, pausing to pay your respect and the long-forgotten names of the people who laid there and occasionally saying hello to the few ghosts that lingered there. you came across one pair which were an old couple who said you reminded them of theirselves when they were your age which makes the tips of james’s ear turn red.

he brings you any nice rocks he finds. sirius gives him the weirdest look when the marauders are sneaking around at night and james bends down to pick a stone up that he thinks you’d like but james just grins and shrugs his shoulders saying “my girl likes them. what can you do?” the marauders smile at that. they’ve never seen james look so lovesick - it’s very sweet.

you two have matching necklaces. i don’t know why but i just feel this in my core. you found them at an antique shop and yours is a silver moon james is gold sun. because of it when the two of you are together everyone calls the pair of you “solar eclipse” 😭 even did it once when she was telling your friend group off. she was like “where’s solar eclipse?” sirius absolutely pissed himself laughing about that.

james gets rid of spiders for you but not before teasing you a bit. that’s just the kinda of guy he is i’m sorry. he’ll get them gone though for you don’t you worry but only if you promise to kiss him as a thank you after.

he writes you love letters weekly. you smile on mondays when his owl flies and drops a cream coloured envelope down on your desk written in james’s scrawling hand. in the letter he incloses what his favourite memories of you he has of the past week be that an outfit he thought was really pretty, a song he heard that made him think of you, or a leaf that he pressed from a forest walk that the two of you went on. he adores you so much it’s unbelievable.

what do you think sirius and remus would work as in their teenage years

i think remus would get a job at some weird little antique store or a bookstore that gets like zero business but the owner just keeps it open for funsies with their retirement check

some kind of place where there’s not a lot of foot traffic but when there is, he can help people find really specific stuff and talk to them about recommendations and all that. it’s nice and quiet and he doesn’t have to stand up for eight hours straight, he can sit behind the register and read his book or do homework or sort through boxes of new trinkets the weird old owner found at an estate sale or off the side of the road one day.

he gets paid only a little over minimum wage but he works long shifts on the weekends and some weeknights after school because he likes going in, it’s cozy and warm when it’s rainy out and the afternoon sun comes through the windows really nice on bright days. his friends like to come bother him and he’s usually the only one working (unless the owner is hauling in new boxes to sort through) so james and peter and sirius will lounge about on one of the big comfy chairs between the shelves and occasionally buy something stupid that catches their eye.

and sometimes sirius comes in alone and flirts with remus at the counter until he gets too distracted to work and huffs and rolls his eyes all cute. but then he’ll shove the box over and say “you sort it, then.” and then sirius will hang out behind the counter the rest of remus’ shift and dig through boxes and price all these weird old books and knick knacks until it’s closing time. and they’ll stop for takeout after and remus will pay for both of their dinners as a thank you for sirius helping 🥰🫶🥺💕🤭🤧💓💞

sirius gives me either food service or music store vibes, no in between. he’s quick on his feet and has a near photographic memory and he’s extremely charming so he’d be a great waiter, he’d make all the tips, all the old ladies at the diner would love him. and he’d give them free pie every time they visit and he’ll go “it’s my treat, dottie, really!!” and then they leave him several large bills as a tip on the way out. he’d be back in the kitchen chatting up the line cooks and bugging the shit out of the manager bc he always looks like he’s not working but his tables are always perfectly taken care of and he’s never forgotten to come back with ketchup or a to-go box, ever.

and if he works at a diner obviously his friends are coming there constantly for the 15% friends and family discount and reigning terror in the back booth for hours. and on weekends he’s not working or nights when their shifts are opposite, remus will stop by after work or for dinner and sit at the little bar and they’ll flirt shamelessly over pancakes (blueberry for sirius and chocolate chocolate chip with bananas for remus, obvi) until sirius’ manager makes him get up and sweep, so he just sweeps a three foot circle around remus’ feet for the last hour of his shift

music store!sirius is also so real and valid. he’d be able to wear his cool outfits at work and grab the new releases before they’re on the floor, he’d be able to give great recommendations bc he likes to guess what people will like based on their *vibe*. and he hogs the aux cord when he’s on shift and the weirdest playlist is going for the next eight hours. like he’s giving customers whiplash bc it’s jumping from two doors down to ariana to björk.

also while he works there everyone’s getting vinyls for christmas and birthdays. EVERYONE. bc he gets a discount and he’s so good at picking records for people that he thinks they’ll like it’s kind of scary. ((he put remus on lana bc he got him lust for life for his birthday and now it’s everyone’s problem))

What are your OCs' holiday plans?

Happy Halloween and Welcome to Winter Solstice, a 7-day holiday that starts at discount-Christmas-minus-the-coke branding and ends with discount-Silvester aka the actual solstice at the end of the year. Holiday lore exists but isn’t important rn so-

As every year, Yel‘s got a job to do. You‘d think people would learn after a while to not buy presents that need to be shipped up a mountain 3 days before the fest, but nope! Aside from that, stroll through the Christmas solstice markets, visit parents, meticulously plan presents, bake lots of comfy food, wear ugly sweaters unironically, all of these combined, lecture everyone on fireworks safety like every year and get inevitably disappointed 80% didn’t listen and the day after solstice will be filled with shipping health potions, lawsuits, and worrying about the local wildlife.

Meanwhile Mage has holiday shopping fevers to bank on and a cozy shop that’ll protect from the dreaded cold. Until the day itself arrives, homepal ain’t leaving the house any time soon (except to decorate the whole place with fairy lights that customers can buy for a totally reasonable price alongside fireworks.)

Deniz n Red got pretty much the same plans. Visit some markets, eat all the food, enjoy the vibes for a while, and then travel for a bit. Deniz back to his home, while Red visits some of the other places she’s been to back during her adventuring.

And then Violet is kinda doing everything. Girl‘s finally able to experience it all from up close and on her own accord instead of being forced to whatever formal events up high a castle, so she’ll take that chance- the markets, the shopping, sight seeing, checking out holiday event stuffs, bake stuff, try to cook stuff, go wild on the decorations, everything there is minus the family part.

While day 1 and 7 are the "main“ holiday…days, Deniz, Red, and Mage all only really celebrate day 7, the actual Winter Solstice. Yel and Violet do both!

Though while everyone minus Yel is still around for not-Chistmas, it leads to her being alone during Solstice. And the town celebration is great! It’s fun, and comfy, and warmer than the cold marble floors could ever be! Yet after the last rockets have flown, it’s a bit…quiet. Everyone else is off to visit someone, but she kinda can’t anymore. Well… except a certain merchant who she knows isn’t gonna sleep before 4am, so.

Despite the underlying negative tension that tends to rise between the two when no one else is around to distract them, Violet goes over there. And while very much awkward at first, they manage to chill, talk, do whatever to keep each other company until it really gets too late. Its…nice. And actually turns into a yearly thing- Mage gets dragged outside by Violet to properly celebrate solstice at the square instead of looking from afar at home, and in turn Violet chills at said home for a while once the fireworks start dying down to hang out.

…and then the very next day they go back to their usual Spiel of more or less "I hate you for being a walking reminder of all my shortcomings so stop being cool to hang out with pls “. Yea

About myself: I have a love-hate relationship with my grit. Mostly because I know I was born talentless in all aspects (no exaggeration), so every creative endeavor I have is 99% hardwork. And no, my parents don't have writing or drawing skills. I don't need to explain how my mom only knows how to draw "v" birds or how my dad isn't great at English. Absolute shame on them. (jk I love my family, I wish I could just pass my lifespan to hem HAHAHA). So when all hardwork fails, I feel like absolute shit. Second thing probably is my faith. I think I wouldn't be here if I didn't have some level of trust with the universe overall. The rest of me is garbage tho lmao. If I'm an otome game character, I'm 100% the beloved and beloathed trash husbando /srs.

About @leftdestiny-posts: I'm not sure I'd ever encounter an internet mutual like them ever again, and I think their appreciation for life and bluntness/straightforwardness is something to be admired. They're traits I don't have. Shiro and I are very very different people, and I'm not sure why there was a miracle that made us meet lol.

About @a-dose-of-phitre and @estellxli: longest friends I have. I really admire their creativity and skill, and if you want me to be honest, I know full well I'm left behind in those departments. My mom wanted me doing something active and after looking around she somehow found Irish dance, I'm not sure how. XD This was back when I was a kid so I don't really remember. Disjointed Dreamwidth Tips (written by someone who wasn’t on LJ)

So as always when Tumblr decides to break its own gear, people are contemplating Dreamwidth. One thing I don’t really see much are recs on what to do after you’ve figured out how to use the site for yourself and are in that time where your feed is empty and you are discouraged from screaming into the void. I was also never on LJ, and for a long time after getting a Journal I didn’t use it because my feed was dead, and I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do.

Some general tips past the obvious to get started

When making your journal, you should fill out your profile and interests, but what I find way more useful is to have a pinned post. You can either actually pin it on your journal or just set the date to some ridiculous date in the future, and it’ll stay on the top. On that pinned post go your interests and maybe your posting habits (are you doing regular updates or rapid-fire shitposting whenever you feel like it? Are you often gone for a while and answer slowly?). It’s also the place to put stuff about how you handle privacy, like ‘If you want to be added to my nsfw filter, shoot me a message here’.

A lot of people like and use the tumblr anon-ask function, and dw doesn’t really have that. So here’s an idea on how to set up something similar: Make a dedicated pinned/predated post, put in the post that it is your ask post, how to use it, what kind of anons you aren’t comfy with maybe. Set the comment function to ‘screen all comments’ or ‘screen anon only’. This gives people a way to leave you anon messages only you can see and copy over into a post. You can turn it off at any time by editing the post’s comment (not comment screening!) setting to say Disabled. I haven’t actually tried setting this up myself, but it should work. People who don’t have a dreamwidth account can message you this way, too.

People who like anon prompts might also be advised to go look for kinkmemes for their fandoms. A kinkmeme is a community or journal that lets people post and fill prompts anonymously. Contrary to what the name suggests, in a lot of them neither prompts nor fills must be sexual nor even romantic (thought they often are, so go browsing on your own risk). Requests are all anonymous, fills can be posted anonymously directly on the com, or on anon on ao3, or deanon’d on ao3, or any combination thereof.

So, you’re lonely on Dreamwidth

Dreamwidth has no reblogs and no algorithm, so there’s nothing to push stuff at you and help you find new friends. You’ve got to go looking for them, and invite them over to your place, too. Basically, think of tumblr as one giant, never-ending, really loud cocktail party – it’s easy to drift around and find a group to stand with, and you don’t even have to talk to have fun. Dreamwidth is more like bouncing from friend’s place to friend’s place for tea and gossip, or having a nice wine and dinner with The Squad or spending all night smoking and chatting on the balcony or something like that. Fewer people, slower conversations, more effort, more payoff. That doesn’t mean you can’t rapid-fire shitpost over there, people absolutely still do that. But keep that comparison in mind.

Type in an interest in the search and look for active people who also have that interest tagged. Look for communities with that interest. Look for people you vibe with in the communities you share. You can see everyone subscribed to a specific com in the com’s profile, and you can see people’s mutuals in their profiles, too.

A lot of stuff doesn’t show up in the interests tho. A great way to find people on Dreamwidth are friending memes. A friending meme is a post in a community or on a personal journal where people post little bios with personality, interests, posting habits etc. in the comments, and then go browsing for other people to chat with and follow. I don’t know if there’s any active right now, but participating in those does a lot ot liven up your dash and find people, especially people who want to be found and are actively looking for new people, too! There’s one at the end of Snowflake every year.

Etiquette – Likes

One thing that throws people off about switching from Web 2.0 to DW is that there’s no likes. I’ve found that posting a <3 comment is totally fine with many people tho.

Etiquette – Linkspamming

No reblogs means Linkspam is the name of the day. Linkspam is absolutely okay on Dreamwidth! I know it feels weird! Just do it! Websites like tumblr constantly discourage us from linking off-site or even to other stuff on themselves – Dreamwidth is not like that! ‘One/three/six interesting articles I read this week’, with a link and a sentence or two are a valid post, and people will chat with you about them in the comments. Posting a rec-post on your own journal and then just dropping a Post that’s like ‘I rec’ed seven Character X/Character Y fics over here’ in a relevant community is valid. To embed a link, copy over this

Honestly the best way is to embed them imo. Host somewhere else (Imgur, or your Insta, for example), and then use this code

Copy “html basics for dreamwidth” into your search engine of choice and you should find several journal entries that are just that, though! HTML is not as scary as it looks, and the Rich Text Editor also works fine.

fandomcalender and fandom_on_dw – People advertise new/restarted/repeating communities, fests, exchanges and such here! Great place to find stuff you want to participate in or just keep an eye on.

snowflake_challenge is running this year – it’s a one-month challenge were you get a blogging prompt every other day for all of January, so it starts in only a few days! Prompts are something like ‘write or update your bio’ or ‘what was your first fandom? Tell us!’ or ‘create something for the prompt X’. You fulfill the prompt and post about it on your dw and in the comments of the prompt post. You can always catch up later if you get busy and you're always free to just drop a day. Chatting on the prompt-posts and going to others’ journals to comment is considered good form. Gives you ideas to use your journal, lets you connect with others and generally get a start at Dreamwidth. sunshine_challenge does the same in the summer.

fictional_fans – A community specifically to let you be a Dreamwidth Noob among other people! Great place to ask embarrassing questions about where to find what button.

fancake and recthething are pretty active multifandom recing communities. Fancake has a theme each month, and recs are one fic per post, only finished fics, no self-recs. Recthething is less structured, for making posts directly in the com or linking to rec posts on your journal, and they also have a weekly catch-all post every Thursday for making recs in the comments. Asking for recs is specifically allowed here.

fandom_icons is a community for people to post links to their icon uploads, with a good tagging system. Just go look for some nice stuff for your fandom and remember to credit the artist!

You can find any of these communities (and also other people’s journals) by setting the drop-down menu by the search to ‘Site and Account’ and typing them out like that, or by dumping them into the search engine of your choice with ‘dreamwidth’ at the end. Unironic tip, that one, dreamwidth search is Not Great for finding specific people or coms sometimes.

Random thoughts on Moon signs and why Aries Moon is annoying to have

I saw this tweet a while ago that had a list of planetary placements to die for. The first one was Aries Sun/Moon. As an Aries Moon myself, my response was "Nah-ahhh you DON'T want that. This is dangerous territory, trust me". And then I started thinking about Moon signs, why does Aries Moon suck, which Moon placements are nice and which not so much.

You know why Moon in Aries is bad? Sometimes you see these kids at grocery shops that start crying and yelling and tumbling on the floor because their parent doesn't want to buy them candy (actually, big chances are, they are Aries Moons, but that's not what I'm trying to convey here). As kids they are going to externalise their angry feelings, I mean, everyone's okay with that, they're kids, it's just candy. Worst case scenario, you're just going to roll your eyes at them. But think of an adult who has this screaming, hurt and angry kid inside. It's still there. It won't magically change signs once you're old enough. And yeah, it's going to yell sometimes. And be a cry-baby. And passionately experience every feeling with their whole self, good AND bad. Sometimes it's going to want to scream into a pillow because it's so impatient and frustrated and it just wants everything NOW. Someone on lindaland once said, “you don't have Moon with Moon in Aries, you just have two Marses”. Touché.

Okay but if you want to know something about Aries Moon, know that it feels the urge to be independent. Hates restrictions with their whole heart. Impulsive. Veryyyy impatient, as we have already established. Hates being told what to do. Having constant battle with their emotions. Open and naive (remember it's the child of the zodiac). Very cheery and child-like on one hand but on the other, emotions are expressed and felt in a very raw way, let's say, with a burning passion. Will chase everything. And you can only imagine how an Aries Moon feels when it catches the thing it wants. Likes being the first one in everything. Physical activity is good for their mental health. Kind of obsessed with sex.

Taurus Moon. It's Venusian. It's exalted. It's nice and cosy. It probably has a nice, soothing voice. Think of Elton John, he has Taurus Moon. Beautiful voice but also an eye for beauty and luxury. Can be stubborn in its emotions but hey, at least it's stable, right? It's sensual, just like everything Taurus, and probably loves food way too much. It's in touch with its own body and the only downfall to that is when a Taurus Moon person experiences negative emotions, it affects their whole body. Like, negative emotions can make them physically ill.

Gemini Moon. Ohh Geminis... You know that Mean Girls quote about Regina George "That's why her hair is so big. It's full of secrets". I think of that when I think of Gemini Moons. Like, they just know things. They collect secrets like some friggin Finnick Odair. And they analyze them, probably to the point of brain overheat. So, if you don't want a fried mind, I don't advise having a Gemini Moon. Not that you have a choice, but. They also like to talk. A lot. Love to gossip, just sayin. And seem very friendly when you talk to them. I say "seem" for a reason *whispers* don't trust them.

Cancer Moon. Mushy feelings. The homebodies. The family types. The comfy ones, but not in the way Taureans are. Gentle and creative. Likes to take care of others. Kinda reminds me of sitting with a hot cup of tea and typing poetry into your laptop on a rainy day. Idk. All water Moons are overly emotional but Cancer Moon can be moody and changeable and very sensitive to, you guessed it, Moon phases. CLINGY. You guys are clingy, just admit it.

Leo Moon. There's something about them... It's like the star quality of a Leo but it beams from within, you know? It's like something inside was pushing them towards greatness. They just have to believe in themselves and they will shine. Loves creative pursuits, arts, theatre, music, just anyhing fun. Expressive. Charming. Inspiring. Hopeless romantic. Can be flashy too, it's Leo after all. Wanna make them feel good? Compliment them, they LOVE it and need it.

Virgo Moon. Okay... for some reason I know a lot of Virgo Moons and let me tell you... there's something gentle about them. They're quiet and polite and - this is not a commonly talked about Virgo trait, but - they're softies, you know? But they need work, probably to distract themselves from all the thoughts. It's a lot more focused mercurial energy that Geminis, grounded and analytical. But that also makes them prone to overthinking and anxieties. Can be hard on themselves... so they work even more. And unlike Gemini Moons, they're SHYYYYY.

Libra Moon. Everyone loves them. Ugh the irresistible charm. They're the people's people. Again, it's that Venus. The difference is, Taurus loves to be loved and spoiled. Libra will love and spoil others, they just want to be nice and stuff. And they have an eye for beauty and arts. Chances are a Libra Moon person is beauty and art themselves. Has an internal need for relationships. But it's air so has a tendency to intellectualize these relationships... and everything else tbh. Great communication. Social.

Scorpio Moon. They straight up give me the creeps. My sister is a 0° Scorpio Moon so I KNOW. Don't get me wrong, I love Scorpio Suns... but Moons... It's like the water of the water, the over-emotional ones. Kiiiiiind of simmilar to Aries in the sense, that they feel emotions A LOT but it's not straight-forward like with Aries. Instead, it's pushy and passive-aggressive and manipulative, not very trustful and secretive. OH MY GOD, so secretive. It's just intense.

Sagittarius Moon. Ahhhhhh my favourite. And I don't think I say it because I'm Sag dominant... Sag Moons are just FUN. They exude FUN. Their playfulness and cheerfulness comes from their heart, that's why it's so special. Thinks and feels big. Big hopes and visions, maybe too big sometimes. Aries and Leo are focused more on the self, Sag on the other hand, is focused on the world - the actual world or a fictional one. Loves movies and is probably a bookworm. Philosophical. Optimistic and lighthearted. Kind of a dork - whether an adorable or annoying one lol.

Capricorn Moon. I'm sorry but ya'll are just depressing. I have Moon square Saturn so I kind of get the vibe. I feel like having a Cap Moon is like having something squashing you from the inside; very withdrawn. It's cool if you get to work, and Cap Moons can be workaholics and hard workers... But if you give into that hermitism (yea I just made that word up) and get lazy due to... things... or being too overwhelmed by that Saturn energy, you get squashed, basically. Also, fears and lots of reservations. I feel like these guys have issues with that. 

Aquarius Moon. My Aqua friends... let me tell you. They're not necessary weirdos, as people say. But they are humanitarians at their core. Like, THEY JUST CARE. So that makes them sensitive. But not in a watery way. Can be veryyyy aloof and hard to get to. Will probably intellectualize their emotions and try to detach from them. All about people but not like a Libra. Difference is, Aqua wants to be independent. Expressive and intelligent. 

Pisces Moon. My favourite water Moon. It's dreamy and soft. Yeah, a bit flakey, but let’s NOT talk about it. I feel like Pisces Moons just get emotions. They understand them because they're all about the collective. That makes them empathetic. Intuitive. Romantic. The artistic types. DAYDREAMERS TO THE MAX, they’re in another dimension. BUT FUN STORY THOUGH

I have been hanging out for this crossover question for a while, and then three people in very quick succession asked me about relationships between the two casts, except in SLIGHTLY different contexts each time. and my brain flipped out and couldn't decide whether to answer them all together or to answer them separately

anyway I decided to answer Separately. the previous STS ask I posted from @tracle0 over here details how the casts as a whole would respond to each other, this one will tackle who gets along best and who gets along worst more specifically. the third one which is on the way will detail..... Best Friends (extended cast and cats included)

anyway! here we go. okay. yeah. yeehaw

so, as I detailed in my previous ask, a day with all of them hanging out together would be. bad. very tense, very uncomfortable, way too many clashing personalities and morals. the ATDAO gang have VASTLY more functional moral compasses than the Rental Car gang, and Tris in particular would be. uncomfortable. with the fact that these guys have all straight-up killed people on purpose. Quinn would be bored because these are children and Quinn has no interest in dragging children into their nonsense, Alex would be stressed, Nat would hate that he's making them uncomfortable...... I actually think they'd vibe okay with Yvonne but that's a whole other kettle of fish. Yvonne is unhinged but has done the least murders

a little bit of murder is probably okay in certain circumstances. like. Noa's brought a building down on a bastard who was gonna kill a lot of other people (though said bastard's ultimate fate remains ambiguous) and Tris had to shove an animated corpse creature off the edge of reality. sometimes you've gotta Do Stuff

but yeah, once it's established that there's no actual threat from the Rental Car gang here..... and outside the pressure of a Whole Unexpected Group Hang where everyone is trying to get to know each other at once...... I feel like in small groups or one-on-one a lot of them might have a nice time!

blanket rules though, Quinn gets along with no one from the ATDAO gang. Quinn is completely disinterested, and everyone else kind of looks at Quinn and is like. yikes. Tris is uncomfortable around everyone from the Rental Car gang. with the exception of POSSIBLY Alex IF things go as smoothly as they possibly can

so hmmmm okay who would get along best?

Nat would get along great with both Kai and Shara! Shara best, I think!

Kai and Nat would probably just end up cooking together. sharing recipes and tips, bonding over the fact they both do most of their cooking by imposing themselves in their beloved friends' kitchens and being a complete nuisance. Nat likes most people who are nice to him, and Kai likes and is nice to most people Full Stop until they give them a reason not to be. Kai's an easy conversation partner even for awkward socially anxious gremlins like Nat, and always appreciates an oddball with good interesting stories to tell. Kai's also very observant and empathetic n is an expert at making people feel comfy and safe, so Nat would enjoy hanging out with them very much. AND they both get to engage in a beloved shared hobby

n Shara's just had a lifelong enthusiasm for the supernatural lmao. she'd be psyched as hell to talk to a vampire and bombard him with stupid questions, and Nat would be psyched as hell that he can make someone this happy just by answering super basic stuff. plus he's constantly bursting with bizarre mildly-horrifying vampire facts that just Appear in his brain thanks to the Garble and his friends are all sick of hearing them, so he'd be SO excited to share them with someone who will be all :O!!!!!!!!! about them

but ye, beyond that, Shara loves a good mystery and Nat is full of all that natural insufferable vampire curiosity, so they'd get such a kick out of helping each other out with whatever inexplicable bullshit is going on in their respective plots at the time xD or just in general, I think they’d both enjoy Nat being temporarily added to Shara's paranormal investigation team (which consists of. Shara). Shara loves spooky stuff but is a scaredy cat so having a Responsible Adult (lmao) who also just so happens to be scarier than most other things would be reassuring. n Nat would LOVE being involved. they'd have so much chaotic energy together, it would be a lot of fun. but they’ve also got enough common sense between the two of them that they wouldn’t make any COMPLETELY stupid dangerous decisions

also, yeah, if he demonstrates fangs at any point, she will ask to keep one after they fall out. Nat can't decide whether this is weird or not in time so she just fuckinnnnn takes one anyway and he's like oh ok. now there's this random girl who just has one of his teeth. y'know, like normal friends. probably. Nat is not sure. he’s very new to having friends

okay, now, branching off from me earlier saying Tris wouldn’t get along with anyone except Possibly Alex. with the “possibly” being key. Tris would ADORE Alex provided he can get past the vampire thing and the fact that Alex has killed people lmao. so if Alex approaches him in exactly the right way and they get a few nice calm low-stress conversations in, I think Tris would warm to it pretty quick

‘cause yeah, if Tris is going to get along best with anyone, it's Alex, who is arguably safer than most human people to be around unless you’re an actual fucking serial killer who’s escaped any sort of justice multiple times. regardless, Alex is a much MUCH easier vampire than Nat to get accustomed to and Alex-brand murders are probably something Tris could also get accustomed to given appropriate time to mull it over, especially considering Alex's other option is to just kind of. die.

n Alex is just. such a kind gentle patient person ESPECIALLY with young people. n idk if I've established yet that Alex would take one look at the entire ATDAO gang and immediately be like "I would fucking die for these kids oh my god where is their responsible adult supervision I'm so stressed I have to make sure they're Okay" but like. oh man Tris would respond to that

Tris never really had any kind, caring adult figures who genuinely wanted to help him growing up, aside from Jacob, who was also dealing with a looooot of his own bullshit. his parents are assholes, his home life is fucked, his school life is fucked, he'd be so quick to latch onto Alex as Good and Safe and Reliable and Comfy. I think Tris would vibe with Alex for the same reasons Quinn initially decided Alex was Best Friend Material. Alex is the sort of caring adult figure Tris is desperately in need of, someone who will actually actively help him in practical ways like moving out of home or giving him important contacts or explaining complicated paperworks or whatever. n Alex is the sort of caring adult figure Young Quinn desperately needed for the same reasons (and now is going to violently defend to the fucking grave so it can help other people)

so ye, Tris would activate Alex's "must protect" instinct, n Alex I think would probably view him like a younger sibling :3 like, tbf, Alex thinks similarly of all the ATDAO kids, and just likes Tris best purely because Tris is the only one of them with any sense of fucking self-preservation lmao. which makes him a nice change of pace from Alex's own friends. Alex loves its friends dearly but oh my god is it nice to be around someone it doesn't have to yank out of mortal peril every five minutes. n Tris is just very good and sweet and kind. Alex would love him

Yvonne and Noa!!!! they’d vibe but I can’t guarantee they’d be particularly good for each other LMAO. like, they’d get along fantastically (y’know, after Noa goes through her initial period of being suspicious and standoffish) but they’d be way too chaotic and impulsive without a cool level-headed third party to chill things out. they’d just egg each other on in engaging in shenanigans and hijinks

unfortunately I don’t believe anyone who fits the bill of “cool level-headed third party to chill things out” would get along with both Yvonne and Noa, so they are free to be as chaotic as they want

both possess the Exact Same Level of energy and passion and determination about whatever shenanigans they’re about to get involved in. both are very Be Gay Do Crime. both have many cool knives. both have very little impulse control. one of them would be like “hey we should do this extremely stupid thing” and the other would be like “sick hell yeah sounds good”

I feel like the entire ATDAO gang and the entire Rental Car gang would briefly come together to be kind of like “uhhhhhh I don’t think we should leave those two alone together because they will probably make something explode or try to overthrow the government or see how many cheeseburgers they can order in one transaction at mcdonalds before the cashier starts looking visibly distressed and possibly crying”

but also they’d kinda just wanna see what happens

honestly it would just be Yvonne and Noa both going >:3 and being a public nuisance for the entire hangout I think

mm this is getting kinda lengthy lmao. but anyway

who would get along the worst?

Noa and Alex would not get along at ALL, which would make Alex kind of :( but, like, whatever, Alex is fine. Alex is still 100% ready to jump in if Noa ever needs help though, it will just otherwise hover anxiously from a distance lmao

but yeah, Noa would dislike Alex for the same reasons Tris would like it, I think. just. Alex would come across SO condescending to Noa. like I said, Alex is very gentle and patient with young folks and Noa would HATE that. she’s not fragile!! she doesn’t need pity!! fuck off!! while Tris would translate Alex’s presence as “Alex is just a nice person who likes watching out for others :)” Noa would translate it as “lmao what a patronising asshole. treating me like a goddamn child”. n Noa tends to find people who are Overly Nice :) to be suspicious as fuck ‘cause she’s a little paranoid in that regard

Tris and Nat would also get along badly, which is a shame, 'cause I think they'd actually have quite a lot to bond over For Reasons and would gain something valuable by talking about it all. but alas. no matter how nice Nat seems, he’s Loud and Dramatic and Unpredictable, which, to be fair, Tris’s best friend Noa is too, but Noa also isn't an entire freshly-turned vampire who's still super unstable and routinely eats people. n Nat is also a lot less picky than Alex when it comes to deciding which humans he's allowed to eat. so. y'know. Tris just would not enjoy that at all. Nat would be intensely uncomfortable purely because Tris is intensely uncomfortable, n after the extremely rocky start his and Yvonne's relationship had, he's very sensitive and upset by the idea of humans being frightened of him n would want to back waaaaay off. honestly they'd both probably have panic attacks if they tried to hang. they wouldn't DISLIKE each other, but they'd dislike being around each other :(

sure, I maintain there's Potential for a solid friendship, but it would take a LOT of time and care and I don’t think either of them are at a point where they’d want to commit to something that far out of their comfort zones

lastly. I know I said Quinn is bored by everyone and everyone is kind of freaked out by Quinn. like. as a blanket rule. but Kai and Quinn ESPECIALLY would not get along. Kai would not be able to find one single thing to like about Quinn aside from possibly their flair for the dramatic. they’re both chaotic nonbinary bastards, sure, but COMPLETE opposite ends of whatever scale of morality they’ve landed on. Kai is 100% ready to throw hands, like, physically Fight. which is. usually not even a response that’s on Kai’s radar

Kai Loves People :) But They Are Going To Make One Hell Of An Exception

this being said, Quinn is generally marginally more tolerable if Nat is close by to keep them in check, AND it depends on how much the ATDAO kids Know about the sorts of things Quinn is involved in........ so who knows

but yeah Quinn and Kai would probably end up in a fistfight

Quinn and Noa would also get along very poorly HOWEVER they would also kind of just.............. both vaguely acknowledge that although they don’t like each other they’d have each other’s backs in a lot of scenarios. like. Noa would beat the ever-loving SHIT out of Reuben March and Quinn would take great joy in murdering that bastard motherfucker by the name of Marrick. so they’d both just be kind of like. yeah. alright. you suck but you’re cool. I’ll allow it

Jung Hoseok nearly died to actually make publishable Yoongi's book

But eventually he made it

He hoped the day at the luna park was enough for Jungkook to be forgiven after spending nearly every afternoon with Namjoon and his kid brother

Mostly, he hoped Namjoon could forgive him to have to deal with both his child and his own kid brother

When he mentioned it, Namjoon has a variety of emotions.

Surprise, then recognition. Eventually softness.

"they have been good, all things considered." He laughs a little "Just warning you, Jungkook took a passion for Just Dance"

Well, Hoseok considers when he watches his son weirdly dancing in front of the television, there are worst things that could happen

Also, now that he has a life back, he can discard Min Yoongi in his man cave or whatever he likes to call his attic and go back to his routine

Which means, pick up and drive is kid to school

And see again the cute teacher

Not that he cares

But you know

He does

That day Kim Taehyung was wearing a dark green vest and a white shirt and looked as an absolute old man

His housemate confirmed it and if Kim Seokjin tells you you look bad, it's true

The thing is, Taehyung didn't want to look hot, he just wanted to look comfy and cozy to his kids

When he steps outside to collect the kids, he regretted every choice made that morning

The two exchanged a small wave and Tae nearly forgot he has something to say to him

"Hoseok-ssi" he calls him. By his name, because the first thing Jung Hoseok told him as they met is "you're taking my son most of the week, we can at least call each other by our own names"

"yah?" He was already moving towards the car, dammit.

Stumbling at bit at the beginning, Tae tells him about the little recital he proposed to the school board that year

Hoseok beamed at him

"that sounds wonderful! kids will have loads of fun"

Taehyung was positively gloating, but tried to hide it

"so this week it's going to be parents-teachers conference, so we can explain every detail"

Nobody will pry from his cold hands the knowledge that the reason why it was happening that week was that Taehyung knew as a fact that Hoseok was busy until now

And also, that nobody knew about the meeting in the first place

The thing is, a meeting was supposed to happen at some point, and Taehyung was a very considerate teacher, okay?

He needed to tell the principal about the meeting, tho

On the other hand, Hobi was quite serene.

The wonders of a full night sleep, he guessed

Nope nothing to do with the cute teacher and the cute vest that made him look cozy and cuddly and all the stuff a grown up should not look like

It would be a lie to say that it didn't do anything to Hoseok.

But then again, Hoseok can be a good liar

His phone chimed in, showing a text from Yoongi

"so did you ask him out?"

"who?" "What do you mean who" "i mean who would I ask out" "the teacher, dumbass"

Hoseok stared at the phone for a solid five seconds

"you don't even know what day of the week it is" "And yet I know you brought the little monster to school, so you've seen him"

For someone who forgets to eat, Yoongi can be really persistent about stuff

"why" he just asks, glancing away from his computer. If anything, he knows Yoongi has little to none interest in his love life by itself

Not after he finished all the people he could set him up, anyway

Including himself

That was so weird that both kinda decided it never happened

So back to the text, Hoseok patiently waited for whatever was the real reason behind such concern

"I may or may not started planning the next book based on whatever vibe you and your lovely teacher give off"

Hoseok shrieked, but just a little

"but you know!!! Most of the time the final product have nothing to do with the beginning!!!" Yoongi continues

Six exclamation point usually mean that he's either lying or trying to convince him of something he didn't actually believe in. So lying, after all.

"and what's the plot" hoseok asks, but then "no, nvm. Don't tell me. Just. Idk. No"

Yoongi didn't reply, but then his editorial instinct won over all his better judgement

"okay, tell me the plot"

Yoongi answer arrived after less then three minutes and it was a shit ton long. He basically already planned everything and all he needed was the main characters

"and they would be me and Kim Taehyung?" Was the only answer Hoseok managed to cave

Because yeah, if life was a written book maybe they could have been the perfect romance

Even by changing some basic stuff - "don't worry you're all idols here" - and making some unrealistic concessions - "your character is the greater dancer of all times" - the way Yoongi was telling the story

A story that didn't exist

makes him want to fall in love for real

But here's the catch: they were real people, and crush on your child's teacher is problematic at best, creepy at worst

So no, he won't be pursuing that. Thank you very much

(but gave yoongi permission to work on the story nevertheless because, you know, it's his job)

And he r e a l l y is set on his mind the day of the meeting after school

Doesn't matter that he exited work early just to go home and shower

The old turtle seemed frail and sweet but he remembered being a child with him. It was all a play

Which makes him perfect for this project, he guess

So, let's convince the parents he knew what he was doing and what he was talking about despite never producing any school play

It went fairly well for the most of it

Every time he met Hoseok's stare, the other man was smiling, and that made him feel both excited and incredibly shy

But mostly gives him enough confidence at least finish the presentation of the general idea

When parents asked questions - price, time needed, how the parts would have been distributed - he tries to be as clear as he can

And hopes nobody will actually spot how much he still doesn't know

Eventually, the questions are over and the meeting is too, with a copy of the project to take home and a promise to see each other as soon as possible

Tae was putting in order his papers, trying carefully to not perceive either Hoseok nor Namjoon, but of course karma hates him

It's not like he could have the worst face in the history of faces and just have his life passing by

No, he had to live his 5-hours-sleep-10-hours-work while wearing his most anonymous clothes and have something less of a Idol staring at his face

"everything alright?" Hoseok asked, and the question clearly triggered Namjoon attention, because he came close too

Hoseok smiles at him, but Taehyung makes a weird face at the other man

Well, they clearly knew each other enough to drop some honorifics

Probably wasn't the first time Namjoon came instead of his parents to school stuff like this, Hoseok always knew he was a good big brother

"You did great" the young man says, to which Taehyung smiles a little. Namjoon walks over them but doesn't stop, heading towards the door

"I gotta go now, Hoseok-ssi, see you Tuesday. Tae, see you around"

"Watch your steps" both Tae and Hoseok say, which surprised them, but proved them right when Namjoon bumped into a desk

Then it was only them. And Tae knew it's gonna be awkward really soon.

"so, how you know him?" He asks. Oh, Jungkook babysitter. Makes sense

"and you?"

Taehyung makes a weird face, half displeasure.

"I'll tell you in the parking lot, I'll feel less irresponsible if I'm not at work"

Hoseok felt he has to decline and go straight home

Also stop asking about the private life of his kid's teacher and babysitter

Because that was none of his business

“I didn’t know you fought dirty, y/n.” She and you peered at each other from different angled and burst into a fit of laughter on the floor, it was definitely ill-timed since Yon-Rogg entered at that moment.

“Do either of you take anything seriously?” He rubbed his temples while Vers scrunched up her face and mocked him.

“Someone sounds grumpy today.” You sat up and twisted around to face his unamused expression.

“I just came here to remind you that it’s lights out in twenty. I don’t want to hear your ear-splitting laughter for the rest of the night, are we clear?” He warned, causing you and your teammate to give him simultaneous sarcastic “uh-huh’s” while smirking at each other. He wasn’t going to waste his breath on you two, so he left without another word. Vers and you stifled snickers as you leaned back on the floor.

“So, you ready to call it a night?” She asked, lazily turning her head towards you.

“I guess,” you sighed, “I don’t think we have much of a choice, he’ll send Minn-Erva to put us in our place or whatever.” You rolled your eyes at the thought of her and pushed yourself off the ground once more.

“Yeah, what’s up with her? Do you get the vibe she doesn’t like us or something?” Vers stood up and brushed herself off.

“Maybe it’s just a newbie thing.” You shrugged. “Let’s get out of here.”

You and Vers walked down the hallway side by side, pushing on each other with your shoulders and stumbling back and forth, joking about how the team was too high maintenance, and making new memories for her.

The pair of you didn’t waste time getting ready to rest.

“Vers, have you seen my nightshirt?” You rummaged through your clothes.

“No, I totally have not.” She replied with the apparel in hand.

“Come on, V! Do you prefer me to sleep shirtless or something?” You snatched it back and quickly changed.

“Maybe I do, maybe I don’t.” She replied smugly, holding up your bottoms as well. “I suppose you want these back, too.” You blinked in disbelief as her grin began to grow, and she snorted once you buckled and took them back.

“Didn’t realize they stuck me in quarters with a thief.” You joked, pulling on your pants and crawling into your bed on the bottom bunk. Vers called dibs on the top bunk as soon as she was assigned to this room, but is that surprising? “‘Lights out!’” You mocked with a clap and let the room go dark.

“Actually, they stuck you in quarters with the coolest Starforce member ever, don’t get it twisted.” Your bunk mate corrected, climbing onto the other bed. “See you bright and early, Starshine.” Vers and you got comfy under the covers and drifted off.

It felt like seconds before you opened your eyes again. There was tossing and turning from your roommate, her breathing got louder and you suddenly heard a gasp.

“Vers, you okay up there?” You whispered, throwing the covers away and hopping off your bunk. As your eyes adjusted to the dark, you saw her leaning on her forearms and checking her surroundings.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” She assured you, turning on her side and observing your worried expression. “Weird dreams, I guess.” You could tell that they bothered her more than she’d like to admit. What did she expect? After sharing a room for so long, you picked up on these things.

“‘Weird dreams,’ huh? Indulge me.” You requested, cocking an eyebrow. You knew she would, you were one of the only people she’d be willing to tell.

“Aw, you care.” Vers stuck her hand out and waved it in your face. “Whatever, get up here.” You delightfully accepted and hopped in bed with her, lying down near the wall and waiting for her to turn to the other side, leaving your faces just a few inches apart. “Alright, so they’re kind of spotty. Memory bank isn’t all that great, you know?” You nodded along and listened intently. “I dont know, really. I guess it felt like something from my past, but it also didn’t.”

“What was it?” You inquired, resting your hand on hers that fell in between the two of you.

“I felt like...like I was scared. But I still did the things that scared me.” She explained, staring down at your touch. “I can’t put it any other way than that. Dreams are hard to remember once you’re awake, you know?” Her eyes flickered up to yours.

“Yeah, I get what you mean.” You struggled to keep yours open. “Ever have any dreams like this before?”

“Not really. My dreams are mostly about you.” She nonchalantly whispered, watching your eyes go wide as you stammered an answer to that admittance.

“R-really?” You watched her suck in her lips to hide a smile and swatted her shoulder. “I can’t believe you, Vers.”

“Hey! Maybe I do, maybe I don’t.” You shook your head at her flirtatious remarks and flipped onto your other side to face the wall, which meant that you’d be spending the night on her bed. “What about your dreams?” You felt her hand on your side.

“They’re not like yours.” You moved flat on your back, tossing more than she was in her sleep. “Just a bunch of stuff jumbled together, not that deep.”

“They could be deep, what if you’re not analyzing them hard enough?” She suggested, making you groan.

“Nooo, no more talking about what our dreams mean!” You whined and continued to talk about each of your dreams until you nodded off to sleep.

And with another blink, you were awake. Vers was already awake, but not quite out of bed yet. She was waiting for you.

“Guess we passed out, but I think it was worth it.” She told you.

“Agreed.” You said as she leaned towards you and placed a kiss on your forehead.

the story of ur relationship <3; alternatively (more) dating sunarin headcanons but this time is somewhat of an order and talks good and bad 2K+ worth lol

a/n: i had more planned but half of these have been sitting in my notes for months and its kinda fucking long already bc he lives rent free!!!

Meeting

Now when y’all met suna was not looking to love at all. That man was just living his life and so where you. The two of you pretty much meet through komori. You’re a friend and it’s his birthday so him and a few of his friends go out for drinks bc why not. Young hot pretty financially stable v-ball players. Nah no ones there for any type of hookups literally just there celebrating a great guy.

They rent out a section at a relatively nice bar tbh. Not the cheapest and you can actually hear conversation. But also not a super expensive one where the patrons are middle aged with jazz music and the occasional track to relive “youth.” Komori’s a sweetie and will come outside to get you when you text that you’re there. You’ve met washio and ofc sakusa Before so you greet them casually then you turn and there’s Suna and a few others you haven’t met.

That greeting isn’t anything special I promise. Just “hey I’m so and so” and vice versa. It’s one of those meetings where you just think “he’s cute” but it’s such a fleeting thought. Y’all don’t even really talk that first night tbh. At the next practice Suna mentions offhandedly that he didn’t know komori was dating someone and komori is like: huh? Yeah sorry. I love (Y/N) and all but were just friends. Suna just shrugs not really caring to be honest until Komori just asks what did he think of you.

“Don’t really remember much man. Seemed cool though” he didn’t think he’d really see you again. Yeah you were close enough to have been at Komori’s birthday but if that was his first time ever meeting you, he figured you weren’t from around there are present very much. Yeah he was wrong.

Suddenly you were on Komori’s snap story more often, or maybe he’d just been noticing more. Too bad he couldn’t even remember your name 💀. Then it turned into you occasionally popping up where he was. He’d been told your name at least 5 times already but wouldn’t remember it the next day. Whenever he’d see you again he’d get a strained look like: “what is this mf name again” just laugh and tell him again bby.

That changed at some random house party by another mutual friend you two apparently had? You two were the only people just around the fire pit trying to catch some warmth in the chilly night. He’s probably just on his phone head bobbing his head to the muffled music from inside. And you’re just like “remember my name yet?” All jokingly. This sparks the tiniest bit of interest in him and he lets out a low chuckle and just admits “not at all.” I also feel like this is the first time he really looks at you and he’s like 🤨, wait you’re actually kinda cute.

That night y’all just kinda talk and vibe. The conversation comes easy as you two jump back and forth from talking about the music playing to sneakers which he brings up to stuff that you like. He’s actually really easy to talk to. So easy that u can forget about him not remembering your name despite meeting several times. You mention that you’d hung around komori before while they were gaming and that he seemed pretty cool. That leads him to asking “how do you know him anyways?”

“I used to date Sakusa”

Mentally he’s just like— ‘yeah I’m not getting involved in this. Time to go.’ Until you just start laughing.

“I’m kidding. He’s not really my type. We met after being paired together for a project in school.”

The two of you spend quite a bit of time just talking that night until you are joined again by some friends and it’s deadass like y’all weren’t just talking for almost an hour straight.

Getting Together

The process of getting together is like a cat and mouse game. You two start getting closer than friends and then something happens and you’re not talking for weeks. Whether it be life just getting busy, and then someone ending up on some random tinder date or so be it. Definitely one of those things were somehow someway y’all end up just hanging on one of your couches watching a movie. At some point there’s definitely a hint of sexual tension but neither of y’all act on it (later on you find on his finsta that he used to post several “i wont you 😔” memes  Folks can’t tell if hes joking or not (hes not))

You probably gotta tell that man you like him so if that ain’t you I’m sorry. Y’all not dating 😹. It’s something casual, y’all going to pick up some snacks for a movie night and why this mf keep looking at you out the side of his eyes instead of the road. You def texting the groupchat asking if you should confess. They tell you to boss up and just do it baby.

You literally end up confessing in that parking lot. Like right when he shuts the car off and starts swinging his keys on his finger and you kinda just blurt “I like you. Like like you.” He just kinda nods before his eyes widen. “Wait are you fr?” Like no you’re joking tf. It gets a lil awkward so you just go to get out the car and he’s like “I like like you too.”

I definitely don’t think either of you ever officially asked the other out it’s just at some point the understanding that you two are a couple. Like when you’re hanging out just you two hes more touchy, and then y’all start kissing and holding hands at some point. Then when you’re with friends he almost exclusively sits next to you and your friends notice the whispers in one another’s ears at the loud bar that seem just a hint too intimate for ppl who are just friends. Then y’all start arriving and leaving places together and people just at some point get the message (it’s later confirmed by you tweeting some shit like: I hate Rin why is that mf my boyfriend)

As far as anniversaries y’all draw straws to pick a day in the ballpark of the time y’all both think you became official. That’s the day you stick with even if it’s not true.

Relationship Flaws

A fault in the relationship is sunas kinda poor communication when it comes to things that matter. How he feels. Arguments. Love sure as hell don’t come east with anyone but when your partner won’t let you in? Yeah that’s like hell. That’s something you struggle with. And then on your end, it’s the impatience with him not letting you in. You try to wrongfully rush it.

 There’s definitely been arguments that stem from him just being upset about something unrelated to the relationship then coming to you for comfort without actually telling you what’s wrong. He kinda just wants to lay with his head on his chest but at some point that’s not enough. Y’all are in a relationship and should be able to talk about your bad days too.

You’re not innocent in this issue either because sometimes it comes off too pushy. Yes it’s from a place of care but sometimes that silent comfort is necessary. The walls will break in due time and y’all both know that deep in the back of your minds But then there’s a part that’s like— yeah we can’t let this become the norm

“Rin, can you please talk to me”

He will have literally told you “whatever” and that he “can’t deal with this rn” several times as he just shrugs and is like yeah “I’m gonna just go home. I’ll text you later” with an awkward ass pat on your shoulder if it really ruined his mood. If he’s leaving before he gets super upset and uncomfortable just some half assed kiss in your cheek

Another thing is I feel like he could be passive aggressive and let’s be real other folks doing it causes you to do it to. Y’all probably drag eachother on your finstas where you can both see it lol

But when it comes to making up he cracks first and apologizes when he started it. Or as y’all get more comfy with communication. If it’s not anything major he’ll just hit you with a text like “I’m bored come hang”

More Relationship Things

I feel like he love/hates driving. Likes the ride not always driving though. So if you ever proposed a late night drive he’d be down (if you offer to drive). He does let y’all take his car though. He reclines the seat pretty far back. Alternates between just closing his eyes vibing w/ the music or kinda just looking at you (he the type of bf that makes u nervous no matter how long y’all been together)The way he looks at you makes you nervous cause that man is fine as hell and you can just feel his eyes on you.

He films you on Snapchat and sends the video to you like “you look hot”

If he’s not ‘resting his eyes’ he’s mumbling along to the music because he has the aux. if y’all music tastes are different he occasionally throws in something you really like bc he likes how you perk up at one of your fav songs

Moving on. Y’all dap eachother up after s3x because it’s “modern romance” (boy stfu). You two came up with a sex playlist together and it’s on both of your phones. Sometimes one of you will add a troll song that the other doesn’t know and put it in the lineup. (Stole my heart by 1D has definitely played before and you were practically in tears laughing at his reaction. That was one of those songs he was like ‘yeah alright i think we’re done).

At some point you two develop your own handshake and it’s cute. Whenever either of you have to travel without the other that’s always the last thing you do before you leave eachother. There’s vids of your friends daring y’all to do your elaborate ass handshake drunk and doesn’t matter what’s in your system, you both know it like the back of your hand.

I think he values quality time a lot so there’s so many nights where you’re both just chilling in his room just doing your own things. He could just be at his desk watching some game highlights and you’re just doing hw on his bed with your own earbuds in work all spread out and he’s content. He’s also attentive so if he calculates that you’ve been working too long he’ll just take ur earbud like “hey let’s go get something to eat.”

People definitely think he’s the lazy one in the relationship but it’s 100% not true. Like stated above, he’s very attentive and can pretty much gauge how you’re feeling in the blink of an eye. He knows when you need alone time but won’t go without reassuring you that he’s here whenever you’re ready. When you do just need him he’s there without a second thought. If you’re more touchy he’ll have your head in his lap his arm running up and down your as you tell him what’s wrong. He knows when to joke about a minor inconvenience and over the course of your relationship knows when to cut the jokes and be serious with you.

He’d never admit it but he knows your coffee order by heart (he keeps up his image my asking wtf do you get everytime. Just let him LOL). He the type to peek at what you plan on wearing and ‘accidentally’ color coordinate then pull some shit like “why are you copying me”

Y’all def shit talk together. See someone doing something completely out of pocket in public— straight to ur phones you go (pack it up shade room). To the public it just looks like you aren’t paying any attention to one another on your dates but y’all are. Just over the phone so u don’t piss off ur target 😌

Even if a song or artist wasn't cool (tm) before, it becomes cool(tm) once she likes it.

Who’s better with kids: ooo boy that's A QUESTION for some canonical parents, huh? I'm going to say Percy, just because I feel like Vex is a parent who can get overwhelmed sometimes and not know how to handle needy kids when she's running on empty (feel like I should say this does not make a person a bad parent- just that as a kid it's hard to understand that adults get tired). Meanwhile Percy has a natural tone that suggests what he's saying is fact, so if he's too tired for high energy toddlers he's just like "sitting by the fire drinking tea is a very fun game" and the bbs just climb into his lap like "you're right being quiet and snuggly is very fun" while Vex watches like "HOW."

Who’s the one that fixes things around the house: Percy's a good good tinker boi

Who’s got the weirdest hobby: listen one of them invented firearms and the other has a pet bear it's a toss up.

Who cooks and who cleans up: Both are what you might call... Functional cooks. Nothing to write home about, but they get the job done. But Percy excels more at baking (structured, exacting) and Vex is better at more loosely defined things like soups and sauces. Cleaning up is a duo activity and a nice part of their evening wind down.

Vaxleth:

Who’s the messiest one: deffo Keyleth. Houston we have a hoarder. She gets emotionally attached to everything, and saves up little bits and bobs of things for crafting and home diy projects all the time.

Who feels the most uncomfortable about PDA: probably Keyleth, but it's in like- the most Social Anxiety way possible. It's not so much that she's uncomfortable, it's that she gets worried that being snuggly or kissing will make others uncomfortable.

Who’s the funniest drunk: oh that's a hard one. Cuz we've seen them both be high quality drunks, (ie day drinking queen and "heterosexuality is fake and magic is just the fucking best????????"). Vax has three categories of favorite music: sad emo boy, sexy alt boy, and rebellious 90s girl. And then Keyleth is just unironically into the softest cheesiest music you've ever heard on the soundtrack to a chick flick. We're talking Jewel here, folks. Also retro oldies cuz Homeschooled Vibes. I'm going to say Vax tho, cuz he's the one who gets emotional about it, while Keyleth is just a casual listener. And he listens to more of her music than she does his. She'll send him the Live at the Troubadour recording of Kelly Clarkson's Sober and he responds back like "??? Why would you send me this??? At 10am on a Tuesday??? When I have things to do??? Now I'm crying on the bus?????" And she's just "glad you liked it! :D"

Who reads the most: probably Vax. He gets deep into reading in attempts to find less self destructive ways of getting out of his head.

Who’s better with kids: hm I'm gunna say Vax on this one because Keyleth has a tendency to try too hard with everyone and was also an only child who was forced into very structured time while growing up cuz expectations. Vax has more clear memories of actually just being a kid when the twins were with their mom, so he can relate easier. That being said they're both pretty good, as we see with that kid Simon, a scene that will HAUNT ME FOREVER.

Who’s the one that fixes things around the house: def keyleth. DIY queen. Vax just gets frustrated and is like "let's just buy a new one"

Who’s got the weirdest hobby: hmmm. Keyleth has A LOT of hobbies, but Vax def will do parkour, just cuz. Like he may have started back when he was still kind of a criminal, but now he doesn't have a practical excuse and he doesn't even like- record it or anything so there's no point to it. He just sees urban environments and goes "gotta jump. Gotta climb. Just gotta."

Who cooks and who cleans up: Keyleth has got prep on lock. Gardening. Hunting and trapping. Gathering. Cleaning and dressing and chopping. She's got this. It's adding fire to things where she starts having trouble. Vax picks things up from there just fine though, and covers dishes and such on the back end.

Pikelan:

Who’s the messiest one: Pike. Pike. Pike. Having a perma-home at last means she gets comfy, which means you can usually not see the bedroom floor. Scanlan is scandalized.

Who’s the one that fixes things around the house: Scanlan tries. He likes the idea of being helpful with domestic stuff and not just a goofus who's just around for the fun parts of being together. Unfortunately he's never really lived anywhere long enough to get good at household repair, and it takes him way too long to do anything. Pike is pretty handy, but gets so busy that she'll just put up with something being broken for weeks. Best case scenario is Pike shows Scanlan how to do something so the next time he can do it himself and feel accomplished and she can come home to things being fixed and give him smooches and coo over him being a handyman.

Who's the funniest drunk? Pike. "I'M TRYING TO STEALTH."

Who feels the most uncomfortable about PDA: it may shock people, but Scanlan has the same "once it's serious I get bashful" disease as Vax. Pike will absolutely give his bootie a tap in line at the grocery store and he just goes bright red. He tries to laugh it off like he's still the smarmy mess everyone knows, but she teases him endlessly about it.

Who texts the most: Scanlan is an absolute "good morning," "thinking of you," "how was your day," and "goodnight" text person before they live together. After they move in together it's just text versions of his cover songs about his love for her and dank memes.

Who’s better with kids: It's a hard one. Scanlan second guesses himself quite a bit and worries every little thing he says or does is going to become Lasting Trauma. Pike acts more chill about it, but slowly gets more and more overwhelmed until she nearly has a nervous collapse. But their opposite styles work well together and they're able to be a pretty great team.

Who’s got the weirdest hobby: I feel like Pike is someone with a weird collection. It is either something a little spooky but cool and academic, like antique medical equipment, or something horrifyingly tacky, like a thong from every city she visits. Maybe both.

Who cooks and who cleans up: this is where Scanlan is a much quicker learner about domestic stuff. Pike is a good cook, but it's usually on the move so much she doesn't have the time for meal planning and prep. Scanlan absolutely throws himself into being a house husband and gets obsessed with cooking shows. Pike insists on helping with dishes tho.
