oh the way that gitae holds a dead man’s pipe with the very hands that killed him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lighting it up with the same man’s lighter that his widowed wife inherited, which he threatened her son’s life to take it for himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
meeting all of the man’s sons to take their lives depending on the whims of opinion.

all while wearing his clothes that are ‘worth a life’.

gitae might sound like some terrible family curse,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but he’s family, too.

I'm so annoyed. @kingcrow01 tumblr ate your ask about Danny's opinion on the League. tumblr i pressed 'save draft' why didn't you sAVE DRAFT.
ANyways I'm making a post instead. For everyone else, the ask was in summary:
What was Danny's opinion on the League now that he's left it? If he missed the familiarity of it, if he recognized the cult-like behavior inside it, and if he now detested his grandfather.
And to answer (again, grrr): It's complicated! We love complicated <3. Yeah, Danny does miss the familiarity of the League, it was still his home for the first ten years of his life and he has a lot of memories there. Plenty of good along with the bad, and while he's less homesick than he was when he was 10, it still hits him like a truck at random intervals.
Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are great, and he likes the Drs. Fentons enough that he's contemplated murdering Vlad for his meddling, but if he wants to eat the same food his mother used to make him and Damian, he has to do it himself and he can't get the taste right. No one knows arabic so he speaks it to himself because he doesn't want to forget his mother tongue, and he has a few books too. Frankly? He genuinely misses training.
Getting to use Sam's gym helps with his restlessness, same with training with Maddie, but he has no one on or above his level to go against other than his mother. And he only sees her twice a year at most. He knows that he's getting stagnant and he fucking despises it like a bad itch he can't scratch.
He feels conflicted about missing the League, however, since by now he recognizes the flaws and what was wrong with it, and he recognizes that it was cult-like. But even that is kinda, hrm, complicated? If this was a fic I would be able to go better into depth about what he has and hasn't unlearned because cult deprogramming is hard and Danny's doing most of this on his own.
Sam, Tucker, and Jazz have helped with the more obvious stuff: like the ecofascism, the disregard for human life, his emotional constipation; the more obvious stuff that shows in his behavior and personality. But none of them are professionals nor do they actually know the full extent of what Danny's life in the League was like. They only have snapshots since Danyal is very tight lipped about it. So they can only help with what they see themselves through Danny's behavior or word of mouth.
But in summary: He sees, for the most part, what's wrong with the League and disagrees with some of the stuff they do now. But he's very conflicted, and trying to dissect his feelings on the League confuses him. His protests about it whenever Sam and Tucker joke about it have at this point become mostly empty (altho it still causes him some discomfort), and its an inside joke between them three.
As for Ra's? Despises him. If only because Ra's wanted him to kill his little brother -- thinking about his motives with the League confuses Danny, cognitive dissonance and stuff, -- a lot of his hatred stems from "He wanted me to fight my baby brother to the death. I destroyed my relationship with Damian because of him, I had to fake my death and leave my home, and I will never meet my father or see my brother again because of him. Fuck that guy."

thinking about how all for one's power obsession is just a reflection of the fact that he wants the attention that he didn't get as a orphaned meta child and now he's gonna make the entire world suffer just so he won't be forgotten again. he is secretly a man child with the emotional intelligence of a 5 year old and he never progressed past that

Okay but imagine if villain au Iris did have like,, some sort of a hero complex tho
Like, got that whole Hero of Fate thing in her head, and hey, it's one way to get the people to like her even more
The more she saves them, the more they'll like her, right? She's sure Team Plasma would help her w that
But also imagine that just not fucking working. At all.
The Unovan people just going on how she couldn't save this guy or that lady or that kid, a few too many close calls, how apparently she's always last minute, why couldn't she have come sooner, maybe then she could've saved everyone. Then she starts hearing whispers abt Hilbert and Hilda doing a much better job, why is Iris still trying anyways, she should just stay up the League and act like a Champion, and leave the saving to the actual heroes
And maybe that one last hate comment just fucked her up so much she really went "yknow what, sure, I'll be the villain, why the fuck not" and found out its more fun destroying stuff than saving them. Imagine tho as she's leader of Plasma now, she could just see and hear the people of Unova calling for Hilda and Hilbert, and then she hears them calling for her. Calling for their Champion now as the other two heroes aren't around, probably busy w the other grunts on the other side of Unova. And ofc she fucking loves listening to them scream and beg and call out for any kind of help, and she just watched them as they get frozen over by Kyurem, sealing their fate.
She never helped them, until the moment they informed the League abt it, and since then she'd go on and try to "save" them, just enough hope and closure, just enough for them to lower their guards yknow, just enough that for the next time she attacks, they won't be able to really fight back, and she'll be there watching, ignoring their desperate plea of help, the same way they would ignore her

🐈🧢💎
🐈Does the world of your WIP have any superstitions or folklore?
Some! The Fae sects in Talentless/Wild Card have some of the most fleshed out ones. I'll give a couple examples, but we could be here all day if I decided to get into it (not gonna lie, I'd probably get on a roll and start making more up as I went)
The Fae do not trust "Talent" (human magic) and believe that any Faerie child born with the human magic is a bad omen and they will bring ruination upon the sect. While the "standard" way to manage Tainted Children (as the Fae call them) is to kill them, in actuality this practice is extremely rare. More often the child is modified so their wings never grow in and given to humans instead. This is, unsurprisingly, also where the human myth of changelings originates in that world.
With the Fae, shapechangers (not to be confused with changelings) are typically seen as good and lovely folks to have around. In contrast, many human cultures think of shapechangers as vile and untrustworthy. Humans from one area of the Jerendalian Empire, for example, have folk tales of shapechangers who infiltrate families in the guise of loved ones so they can devour the other family members.
🧢 What is your MC currently wearing in the most recent scene of your WIP?
Clothes. I'm not typically an author who puts a lot of thought into what exactly my characters wear. Like, I know what they wear in general, but can rarely tell you what specifically they're wearing at a given moment. I was going to try to stick with all one project for my answers, but since I at least know what Adair wears, I'm going to jump to Miadhachain Legacy and use him for this answer.
Adair - Leather jacket (dark green), long sleeved shirt (grey), undershirt (white), pants with an absolutely ridiculous amount of pockets (tan), leather gloves (black), and combat boots (grey, ladder-laced).
💎Share a line in your writing that you really love!
"Finally punched my own card, huh? Always knew it was probably just a matter of time. Almost surprised it took this long."
Is that a weird line to love? Yes. It's from Miadhachain Legacy and that line really is one of the ones that highlights (to me, at least) how different this draft is going to be from the previous ones. Jance - whose line this is - never used to have a backbone in the scene this line is from, but this is so much more in line with his shit-disturbing self.

dying details
(9/11/22)
for the lacking comfort no arm to hold him close no love to keep him safe there became a flame a bright spark emerging from rage pure ravenous hatred no longer wishing for the changes but instead forcing some wicked future to burn down a village to feel feel that comfort. warmth. safety.

I am here requesting more of this reverse AU O W O
Tumblr media
thus requested is it given
TLDR: Narinder curses the living in his final moments, and prostrates himself to death as a last 'fuck you' to everyone he's ever encountered.
" The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth "
he didn't expect that there would be one so-called last god to curse him, even in death. or so he thinks, really.
once the god of death pieces him back together very carefully, sewn together by his own fleece, they talk. and they talk. and talk.
narinder finds solace in the only other being to ever understand how he feels.
he swears to the god of death that he will take revenge for them both. the god of death insists there is no reason to, and simply requests that he free the few followers that the god of death has left from their torment.
narinder kills the gods anyway. he frees the followers with the power given to him, and in the same breath, does what was requested of him specifically not to.
when they meet next after the fourth god's fall, they fight.
narinder loses.
they reconcile despite the selfishness of revenge.
the god of death offers to have the god of death bind themself to him so they may see the world;
and the god of death does not say no.
they weep at the suffering caused. a sadness that only pangs in narinder's chest and makes him wonder for the first time in his life if this is what regret is.
