with brows lifted, he patiently waited for till to accept the offered bite of food— it was a good thing that he eventually accepted, because ivan wasn't going to take any other answer. a soft hum of approval could be heard, happy with the outcome... almost tempted to feed the other some more, as ivan was fully convinced that the half of the bowl wasn't enough to sate the hunger from the last 3 days, but... he also knew just what sort of reaction till might've had, if he persisted. insisting that he wasn't a baby and didn't need to be spoon-fed like so; forcing ivan to accept these small victories.

it was the final moment of gentleness that they'd shared, at least for now, as ivan's teasing prompted the so-loved vicious response from the shorter. it made him happy to know that the days spent unconscious in the hospital hadn't completely dulled till's edge. still, perhaps those words cut a bit too deep.

“ i wouldn't change it! that's not what i meant... ” he said quickly, a faint pout forming upon his lips. the last thing he'd ever want was to mess with with what he considered a masterpiece ( which was everything that till had created ). “ i just wanted to know... you know i'm not very good at artistic interpretation. ”

ivan, too, now found himself happy that the topic had shifted; and that'd he'd be soon leading the other elsewhere, to actually rehearse. it was difficult to ignore the spark that flickered in till's eyes with the soft promise that he could get to play a guitar again. ivan loved to see it. “ okay! ” he grinned as he sprung to his feet, food unfinished and swiftly forgotten; set aside on the table. just as quick to then grab his friend's hands and pull him up and towards the door, their destination was set.

he could just pick the lock of the music room... but with the garden nearly empty now, the amount of children to monitor near nonexistant, ivan worried about the segyein possibly catching them— plus it'd take more time than if he were to just... swipe the key off of one of the teachers. “ can you go ahead? i'll be right with you... ” voice was a hum, mischievous in its nature as he already started to slowly walk in the opposite direction while still facing till.

  ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎even  with  the  lack  of  constant  attention  now  ivan's  hands  occupied  with  food,  till  still  tries  to  pay  some  mind to  the  other.  the  blueish  hues  of  his  gaze  flicker,  shifting  from  the  spot  on  the  floor  they  rest  on  to  fleeting  glances  at  the  dark-haired  man  nearby.  it's  harder  without  the  sharp,  sudden  jolts  of  pain  to  forcibly  drag  his  awareness  back  into  the  present.  after  a  minute,  till's  mind  begins  to  drift,  his  thoughts  spiralling  into  abstraction,  only  for  ivan's  voice  calling  his  name  to  reel  him  sharply  back.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎the  sight  of  the  offered  food  sparks  a  flicker  of  momentary  confusion;  his  brows  knit,  but  then  his  stomach  growls,  breaking  the  spell  of  disorientation.  with  resigned  compliance,  till  leans  forward,  his  lips  brushing  against  the  chopsticks  just  long  enough  to  close  around  the  offered  bite  before  pulling  back.

  ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎  ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎they've  shared  food  before.  there's  an  odd  comfort  in  it  —  times  when  a  poorly  chosen  dish  had  him  frowning  or  whenever  he'd  been  outright  denied  food  as  one  of  urak's  cruelties.  in  those  instances,  scraps  weren't  even  passed  along  from  teachers.  so  he's  okay  with  this  setup  now,  the  ease  of  the  moment  blinding  him  to  the  fact  that  his  acceptance  leaves  ivan  with  less  than  half.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎the  atmosphere,  marked  by  ivan's  overbearing  liveliness,  isn't  entirely  contagious,  but  it's  growing  easier  to  match  his  pace.  even  in  the  fragile  aftermath  of  exhaustion  and  recovery.  an  hour  between  ripping  the  iv  from  the  vein  it'd  been  stuffed  into,  and  ivan's  return  with  food  is  to  thank  for  that. 

  ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎there had been something  compelling  about  ivan's  softer  voice,  the  way  he'd  initially  sung  with  gentleness,  that had the  melody  lingering  even  after  the  moment  had  passed.  keeping  all  the lyrics just  made  sense.  yet when  ivan's  voice  cuts  through  again,  a  teasing  edge  laced  into  his  words,  till's  expression  hardens  instinctively.

‎ ‎ ‎❛❛   if  you  don't  like  it,  change  it.  ❜❜  till  grumbles,  his  tone  defensive  but  tired.  the  name  had  worked  for  him,  but  being  questioned  about  it  now  feels  like  a  deliberate  poke,  a  way  to  prod  at  his  resolve.  ivan  has  to  be  teasing,  preparing  to  pounce  on  any  explanation  till  might  stumble  through.  so  instead,  he  supplies  none,  his  scowl  deepening  in  defiance.  the  tension  lingers  briefly  until  ivan  offers  a  solution  to  the  guitarist's  lack  of  a  guitar;  the  shift  in  topic  provides  a  welcome  reprieve. he's unsure  if  they'd  even  get  the  chance  to  rehearse  together  after  urak  is  informed  that  their  pet  is  awake,  so till  nods.  ❛❛  obviously,  i'm  not  picky . . .  let's  go,  then.   ❜❜

Brain vomit...I am insanely jealous of the people who can get the new merch. And I am planning an elaborate heist. But aside from that, I'm also crazy over the lore implications of the new photo-card designs...

Of course, they're all suffering as per usual. But it's symbolized by cracks in their skin. When I saw that, I immediately linked it back to the collapse of barriers, secrets, structures, etc. The hearts, however, confused me a bit. But I suppose it's because the reason they all "broke" is ultimately because of their love.

This is probably the most distressed Ivan has ever looked in a photo card, and really, he's honest. The tone of his card is sickeningly oversaturated and overwhelming, and his emotions are visceral, I also find it interesting how the cracks are littered all over his face, and the hearts leak out like that from the neck--and Ivan holds his face like he's trying to "fix" it, or in other words, "keep it together" as he's breaking down and becoming vulnerable, he has to cover up his expression behind something more appealing as he always does. He's also wearing his Anakt Garden uniform. When he was a child, he was just learning how to develop his mask. But even then, he faltered sometimes, Ivan's automatic response is always to try to fix it, even if he's underplaying the severity of his feelings, it's what he has to do regardless, I love his card for that portrayal when he tries to keep one wound closed, another wound opens, its erratic and uncontrollable, like his true emotions. When I see him trying, it looks like it's hard because, well--he's breaking down. Normally, you can't just bounce back from that, so in this rare moment, he struggles with how to deal with it. (A certain desperation to keep up the act?) (His eyes. I really like his eyes in this PC, it's more akin to those moments when his true expression comes out, in those very rare moments)

And then there's Till, I feel pain when my wife feels pain. His expression, too, is very overwhelming. Like he's suffocating too, But his cracks are minimal, not because his pain is small but because vulnerability--something he loathes, is coming to the surface. In tears, Till is suppressing his emotions. Who he bleeds for is ambiguous here, you could say the hearts are for Ivan or for Mizi, but I think it's both. Because he hides from the both of them and eventually the love he feels for them both seeps out one way or the other like a slow leak through a crack in the wall, he's spent so many years building a fortress of a barrier to emotionally separate himself from others, it's his way of protecting himself. But at the peak of his suffering, long too deep into this hell, losing Mizi and then Ivan, he's crying because he's slowly breaking down, and the way he grips at his hair like he's trying to hold back...urgh. In different ways, indifferently, Till ignores Ivan and his affections, and fearfully, he avoids Mizi, instead watching her from afar, doing small things to feel close to her, even when he has the opportunity to get closer, and even when she acknowledges that he's so avoidant of her that it makes Mizi concerned if he even likes her or not, as was said in the Artbook when asked for her opinion of him:

"Mizi -> Till: I'd love to be friends with him. He's an artist who's so dedicated to his work. But he seems to be avoiding me... Does he hate me?"

Till doesn't confront relationships any more than he has to even though he cares so so deeply for them because confronting his emotions and confronting vulnerability, sadness, happiness, etc., and especially fear, is a commitment you have to understand how to accept and respond to, and Till doesn't understand the how when he can only go back to his starting point, hiding and or getting angry, because it's easier. At this point, it's instinct. Shyness is one thing, but doubt is something that can make you freeze in place, confuse you, make you feel unsafe, and even hinder your ability to control yourself in the wake of fear. Fear is what roots Till in place. Till, even for how emotional and sensitive he truly is, he fears the type of vulnerability being emotional requires, he knows of it, but he can never truly embrace it out of fear, that's why he rarely ever shows his heart. He already knows that wearing your weakness on your sleeve leaves you vulnerable to pain, he used to be childish and vulnerable once, and technically, he still is, but just imagine what years upon years of cruelty has instilled in him. So he acts cold and avoidant, and these misunderstood emotions lead to other misguided intentions. That's what brings me to the quote on the back of his pc

Translation:

"사랑 같은 애매한 말보다 증오란 말이 확실해요" -> "The word hatred is more certain than vaguer words like love"

Rather than confronting uncertainty and exploring the confusing, unpredictable, and gray area that is love, hate is honest, hate is intentional, hate is malleable, and you can control it. It's Till's response to feeling unsafe to resort to anger, in the same way, Ivan resorts to trying to fix it and put on a facade. Again, it ties back to the fact that Till doesn't and has never hated Ivan, but understanding Ivan is as confusing as understanding love, Till is as much of a puzzle himself. That's why they confuse each other and clash. So they come close but remain distanced because their connection is almost like unattractive magnets, Till is sensitive and loving, compared to Ivan's regrets; of not being nicer, of not understanding how to get closer to Till, then I think about what Till's recollection of his relationship with Ivan and Mizi in retrospective would be like when he does acknowledge it.

And now...mmizisua. To me, Sua looks more aware of her pain than Mizi is, like in the storyline, she is more aware of their fragility and the cruelness of their environment. It's surely a parallel to the way Sua had kept Mizi in the dark for so many years, even when this pain and this love are so destructive, she covers up her wound with her hand and hides it from Mizi, to protect her, her wound is a direct correlation to her (inevitable) death, a truth that would shatter Mizi, even after he death she wants Mizi to remember her the same as she was when she was alive, unaffected by their world. She tries to force a smile as if everything is still okay, especially because she doesn't want to affect the way Mizi looks at her so lovingly, how would Mizi ever recover if she knew the truth?

And Mizi would seemingly be none the wiser if not for the tears because, to me, she knows but looks to Sua for comfort, to forget even when she is hurt the same way, I love this side of MiziSua a lot, the side that highlights the cruelty of their relationship that surrounds their bubble, because as long as they could distract themselves with the presence of each other, the co-dependence of their dynamic, they could forget as if they couldn't feel the pain at all as long as they had each other, but Mizi is still so affected by her pain, all this hiding had amounted to nothing in the end because Mizi never changes in Sua's eyes, and Sua is still hiding her pain, but that day, Sua had broken that bubble of ignorance to the evil around them. Mizi's cracking, and she shows Sua when she pulls back her hair. It's an interesting contrast between MiziSua and IvanTill, when Mizi and Sua smile, they look happy to be in love, even if it's twisted and hurts each other, because they only rely on each other, and Ivan and Till look inconsolably pained.

Yapping about the contestants Guardian’s!

TW: Abuse,drugs,SA and etc.

So not many people talk about the Guardian’s in alien stage. I will be making opinions on each, but I will probably write more about the guardians when my art-book comes. Which would have all the lore I need.

Shine 🩷 (Mizi’s guardian

As we all should know, Shine is the most friendliest and definitely the most sweetest Gurdian. She loves humans and has curiosity to them. Mizi and Shien definitely had the most closest thing to a Mother and Daughter relationship out of everyone else.

Shine wanted nothing but good for Mizi, which is probably why she wanted her to be in Anakt Garden. Mizi had talent for singing and dancing. I am sure that if Shine knew that Mizi would have to suffer and go through pain. She would have not done it at all.

During round 5, Shine was watching. And you can tell how she felt looking at Mizi. She looks so sad :((

In all of Mizi’s birthday art or official art with Shine. She looked so happy in each one, always smiling or having fun. Shine loves Mizi like a normal person would love there pet. It seems messed up but Aliens see humans as Pets. But Shine still loves Mizi as her

Urak 🖕 ((Tills guardian

Urak is the Segyein of Till. And I will say he sucks the most. He treats Till horribly, in all ways. Mentally and physically. Urak has had other of his pets compete in Alien stage, but he says that Till is different from all of them because of his personality. He goes on saying that He only kept Till alive because of his Musical Talent he has. Urak believes that a Gurdian should learn right away what their pet’s strengths are to see if they are worthy.

In round 6 flashback Urak is forcing Till to sing “Oh my clematis” which Till refused to, which Urak throws a bottle at him, pinned him to a table. And when Till does break free, He attacked another segyein. Urak then once again assisted in restraining him. It’s said that Till was also SA in that flashback.

When Urak was asked about round 6 in an interview, Urak says that the only thing that matters is winning. It doesn’t matter how, if he wins it all worked. He also does expressed that it’s possible for Till to beat Luka, given how much Urak invested in him. (Which ages perfectly))

As much as I hate to admit. Even if Till is alive or not. I’m glad he lost because Urak has set another of his pets for Failure. And I hope he knows that, no matter how much he abuses, drugs or whatever shit he does. It won’t work because he will always set them in failure. Over and over again and it’s his fault.

Apparently Unsha and Urak have romance..??

Unsha🐁 ((Ivan’s guardian

Unsha is the Segyein of Ivan. Unsha isn’t physically abusive to Ivan but definitely is mentally. He has horrible has Urak since both Mentally and Physically hurt as much.

Unsha bought Ivan for his wife since it was her birthday. Ivan was choose because of his eyes which he found intriguing. Unsha also does mention that he had just begun to venture into the pet human entertainment business, so the timing was perfect for him. Which makes me believe that Ivan was Unsha’s first Pet.

If I’m correct In an interview, Ivan claims that Unsha is well known and him and Urak had nothing more then a business relationship. Saying they weren’t close in any way. Nothing more nothing less.

When asked for his thoughts on Ivan's impulsive actions during Round 6, Unsha replied saying he was disappointed that Ivan essentially forfeited the round, and he thought Ivan had a lot of potential even before Alien stage. He also admitted to being curious about what Ivan was thinking during around 6.

He closes the interview by saying he felt like he learned a lot being with Ivan, and it was worth the loss. He lastly that he doesn’t intend to participate in Alien stage again anytime soon.

Phan💀(Hyunas and Hyun-woo Gurdian

Phan is the Gurdian Segyein of Hyuna and Hyun-woo. Not much is shown or known of her since she was never brought up.

I did find that Heperu has an interesting to her similar to how Luka is obsessed with Hyuna.

Heperu🖕🖕🖕 (Lukas Gurdian

Heperu is the Gurdian Segyein of Luka. I might get blasted for this but I believe he’s the worst one yet. He claims that he had made Luka overcome fear, which makes me wonder what kind of things he had done to Luka. As we know Luka as went through a test with was monitoring his heart rate, and stoping his heart completely. Luka barley shows any kind of emotion. But he was crying in that art, Heperu disgust me.

Heperu ego is very high I can tell, because in a interview he claims that all of Lukas achievements and his talent is because of him. And he should thank him always for making him perfect. He always puts Luka very high, saying he will win no matter what.

In one of Lukas official art it shows Heperu shadow being in a position in which looks like kissing.?? And his hand was caressing him. Luka also looked quite young too which just gives me more creeps.

In the music Video all-in Luka kissed Hyuna, which I want to say. Was because of Heperu. Usually when someone was SA they see as a normal thing and do it to another person. That would explain why Luka kisses Hyuna.

Luka has been out through so much stuff because of Heperu and like everyone else has. Luka as very right to be the way he is. Because of Heperu and how cruel he is, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Till did become the same way.

Heperu also has a thing for Phan, having an attraction to Phan, just like Luka has an attraction to Hyuna??

Neigh🐛 (Sua’s Guardian

Not much is known from Neigh, but from what we know is that Niegh sees pets as nothing more than dolls. She dressed them all out usually the same. In a white dress like a doll.

In Neigh’s profile it’s shown that she has 0% interest in Sua. Probably because Sua is a copy of everyone else there. They are all the same as emotionless dolls. With no feelings or opinions.

Ivan is my favorite character in Alien Stage because he’s really complex.

I could talk about him and his characterization/mischaracterization all day and still have more to say after that. Now you’ve given me the perfect opportunity to write a bunch of my thoughts down.

These complaints are in no particular order and are ultimately subjective.

Also, I’m not a Patreon supporter, so I can’t comment on anything that might’ve been confirmed or debunked over there.

Top 5 Worst Ivan Mischaracterizations:

Ivan is an unfeeling and emotionless person

Ivan was trying to kill himself and Till during Round 6

Ivan hates Mizi

Ivan is arrogant

Ivan is violent

This is going to be a long one, so I’m putting everything under the cut. Let’s begin!

1. Ivan is an unfeeling and emotionless person.

I find this mischaracterization to be one of the most frustrating because there is so much evidence to the contrary.

As a child, Ivan is described as someone who struggles to express his emotions and connect with others (imo he’s neurodivergent-coded, but that’s a whole other discussion). But notably we’re not told that he doesn’t experience emotions.

This official art kills me every time I see it because it shows that Ivan knows he’s different from the other children and that it probably makes him stick out and he wants to fit in somehow so he tries to practice/fake it so maybe he won’t be so alone (the imitating behavior is also coded imo).

Beyond all of that, we see plenty of times throughout the series that he feels things, rather intensely even. He’s wistful about the stars and meteor showers and the thought of freedom. He has a curious nature, observing others, wanting to learn more about how they work; how he can emulate them.

And then there’s all of the feelings that well up when it comes to Till. The most obvious is that Ivan loves Till, in his own fucked up way. But there’s more to it.

He wanted attention from Till (maybe the first time he’s ever wanted something in that way). He did everything he could just to get Till to even so much as glance in his direction. All of the fighting, and the bickering, and the instigating was because Ivan craved reciprocation. He grew obsessed.

When Ivan managed to free both himself and Till, he was thrilled!

And when Till let go of Ivan’s hand to return for Mizi, he was very clearly heartbroken.

Ivan felt jealous of Mizi and Sua’s relationship, knowing that he would never have that chance with Till.

Ivan felt lonely because he thought Sua was just like him, only to realize that wasn’t true (because Mizi loved Sua back) and he had no one to relate to.

Also, the entirety of Black Sorrow?? Hello??? He was yearning for more than what he could get. He was resigned to his minuscule place in Till’s life. The song is full of mourning and sadness and grief.

In Round 6, I believe Ivan knew what he was going to do.

He was desperate for anything he could get from Till in his final moments. I think that’s part of why he kissed Till. If his only goal was to deliberately lose, why not skip the kissing and go straight to choking?

Ivan was a dying man overwhelmed with emotion and he desperately wanted Till to look at him, see him, make him feel content for the first (and last) time in his life.

Even if some of these emotions are not necessarily healthy, it shows that Ivan was capable of feeling something.

So… yeah. That’s why I really dislike the emotionless characterization of Ivan. There’s so much depth to his emotions and character, but some people just skim the surface and reduce him down to nothing more than a cold and stoic person.

2. Ivan was trying to kill himself and Till during Round 6.

This one is probably more often a misunderstanding than a mischaracterization of Ivan. I think some people may have seen IvanTill referred to as “toxic” or “obsessive” love when it came to how Ivan felt and behaved around Till and thought Ivan was on some “if I can’t have you, no one can” shit, but that completely ignores the wider context of his character. Ivan was devoted to Till to a fault.

To Ivan, Till was his reason for being. Till was his universe. His god. Till was something to be revered, protected, and worshipped. Ivan couldn’t live without Till. That’s why he sacrificed himself, so he wouldn’t have to continue on in a world without him in it. But he also wanted to protect Till, no matter the cost.

Pretty much everything Ivan did was to protect or care for Till: trying to escape Anakt Garden with him, watching over him after Till was attacked by the aliens in the club, freeing him from his collar over and over and over again, every chance Ivan got.

Nothing about Ivan’s feelings or behaviors toward Till suggests that he would ever harm him, let alone kill him. There’s a reason why when Ivan was “choking” Till it didn’t look like he applied any pressure, there was no struggle for air on Till’s end (even if he had mentally given up, physically there will be some sort of reaction to having your airway compressed), and we don’t see any marks on Till’s neck afterwards.

It didn’t matter what happened to Ivan as a result. Till was the only person who mattered to him.

He would do anything for him. He would quite literally rather die than have anything happen to his god.

Ivan only ever knew how to give all of himself to Till, giving up his life was inevitable.

3. Ivan hates Mizi

I’ve seen this one more so in fan fiction, usually for angsty circumstances, but this just completely sidesteps their canon relationship, which is positive and, dare I say, friendly.

He gave her piggyback rides when they were kids! In the lead up to Alien Stage, we see them chatting and Ivan being pleasant towards her in a sort of “big brother” type way without hiding some sort of darker emotion behind it.

Now, is Ivan envious of the relationship Mizi has with Sua? Yes. Does he hate that he’ll never get to have the connect they have with Till? Yes. But Ivan hasn’t given any indication that he hates Mizi herself. And I think that’s an important element of his characterization.

Yes, he has negative feelings surrounding Mizi, but he never takes them out on her or lets himself feel negative towards her as a person.

Edit: I started writing this section BEFORE we got the official art of Ivan hanging out with Mizi, but holy fuck am I glad I took so long to finish this because now it’s canon that Ivan got along well with Mizi and they were even close as kids despite the fact that Ivan loved Till and Till loved Mizi.

In conclusion, Ivan and Mizi were reasonably close and (imo) would’ve been besties in slightly different circumstances. Ivan is NOT a Mizi hater!!

4. Ivan is arrogant

Yes and no. On the surface, Ivan comes across as mature, confident, and in some cases arrogant, but as we see more from his perspective it quickly becomes clear that the arrogance is just a mask he wears for others.

Deep down, Ivan is very insecure and his self-esteem is almost nonexistent. He views himself as insignificant, twisted, unworthy. He vilifies everything that he feels and does. (“Thank you for being a victim of my shallow emotions” anyone?) Ivan fully convinced himself that Till wouldn’t give a shit about him if he died to keep him alive. That’s not the behavior of an arrogant person. Far from it.

His arrogant mask acts as a shield to keep others from seeing the monster he thinks he is. He’s even kept parts of himself out.

I think that’s also where his tendency to be an asshole comes from. Keeping people away, not wanting or knowing how to drop the arrogant mask, internalizing everything, projecting onto others (like that whole talk with Sua about self sacrifice).

So basically:

Characterizing Ivan as an insecure person who hides behind false confidence/arrogance to keep people from seeing the real (and somewhat fucked up) him? Great. Fantastic. Love to see it.

Characterizing Ivan as an arrogant asshole “just because”? Terrible. Hate it. You burned my crops and killed my cow.

5. Ivan is violent

I don’t know how this one came about, but it rubs me the wrong way so I’ll touch on it here.

We know Ivan instigated physical fights with Till when they were kids because that was the only way to consistently get Till’s attention (not saying I condone that btw). But outside of that, I don’t think Ivan has been violent with anyone else? And would he even be violent with Till like, recently?? I would say no.

Now I do think Ivan would resort to violence to protect Till, but nothing beyond that. I don’t don’t even think he would use violence to protect himself.

He’d probably just revert back to being a “perfect” obedient pet to avoid or diffuse confrontation. That’s what he did as a child; while Till fought back every chance he got. Ivan:

1. Why I like them

i love ivan because he's unsolvable. there is literally no way for anyone to truly grasp how he thinks and feels. even the writers have admitted to not truly knowing what goes on in his head, and i find that so insane. to create a character so complex that it alludes the CREATOR HERSELF??? genius. i love it so much. there will never be enough thought put into his character because no one will ever reach a conclusion that will concisely and accurately describe Ivan. not even Ivan himself.

I also love the way he displays how people can develop when they really just have No One. throughout his entire life, ivan has always been alone. never an available support system, never a parental figure, never a place for him to vent his emotions. this lead to an absurd personality, and an insatiable desire for attention. when ivan loves someone, he craves their attention so desperately that he doesn't care whether it's gentle or violent. it's just so. GHHRHRHEHH

2 . Why I don't

probably for the same reason that i DO like him. because there's no true way to understand him, i always feel like im mischaracterizing him in some way whenever i talk about him or make content about him.

i also think it's very tragic how despite all the complex layers he has, ivan remains static in terms of development. he starts off with the same ideas and behaviors that he dies with, and he dies in a colorful burst of his own bottled up emotions, aggression and softness intermingling; mourning, rage, sadness, wanting, and joy all becoming one singular drive to do the things he did.

Sua:

1. Why I like them

i like how distrustful she is. how she completely contradicts everything everyone believes about her--but solely when she's with mizi. to everyone else who isn't more observant towards her, she's just an ornament. a doll. closed off and pretty, meant to be looked at but never to love, never to be loved. and then mizi completely shatters that side of her, reaches in and grasps the emotional, fun-loving side of her, and suddenly she's bursting with life, as human and happy as it gets.

i also like how sensitive she is, despite trying her best to hide it. she cries easily. she gets mad easily. she gets insecure easily. she feels, she feels so much, and it's barely hidden beneath her disinterested persona.

2. Why I don't

theres nothing that i can think of that i don't like about sua. from her impact on the story to her personality to her design, it's all so cool. so for this part im just gonna name a fault in her morality that i love.

she hid from the truth by ensuring mizi never found out about it. she couldn't see a way out, so she found a way to ignore everything at the expense of mizi's happiness. she went into alnst knowing full well what it would do to her lover, even after ivan called her out for it, and died the happiest she could have been.

there is a daunting element to the expression of a fool worn on a face that so closely mirrors sua's own. mizi said it herself, from their eyes to their hair, it's like sua and ivan were concocted in the same lab by the same serum under direction of the very same aliens.

of course, it's not true, and hardly any product created in the lab for the purpose of anakt garden comes out exactly the same as the ones before; yet, there's something eerily familiar about them in the way that a reflection is stunningly offset whilst also a perfect encapsulation of the bare minimum reality it seeks to interpret.

it seems ridiculous to admit, but sua understands what mizi means when she first drags ivan into their private conversation with a forceful enthused attempt at making peace, remarking that the two of them share too many features in common to possibly feign ignorance for the remaining span of their limited lives spent in such close proximity.

and well, sua thinks there are worse kids in anakt garden for mizi to get particularly acquainted with. ivan is probably the lesser evil, seeing as he's one of the few others who don't eye mizi in a way sua considers predatory, but mizi and ivan would defend as being purely well intentioned curiosity.

essentially, sua is fine putting up with ivan's presence as long as he doesn't stare at mizi for prolonged periods of time, which is a rule that works wonders as he doesn't do that to anything except what pertains to till. although, sua and ivan's track record of holding discussions without mizi as a buffer is poor, to say the least.

they often toe the line of arguing and debating things. except, sua finds it hard to tell whenever ivan is truly debating for something or simply trying to gage more information regarding her stances.

"a flower crown; what's the point of that?" ivan will ask after watching sua place one she made atop mizi's head. his gaze inscrutable and tone sincere as much as it is condescending, though sua can never tell whether its her own perspective that warps these aspects or if that's merely the strange manner in which ivan conducts himself.

"it's a nice thing. mizi deserves nice things." leaving no room for additional musings, sua prepares to turn and follow where mizi went, uncaring of whether ivan accompanies or not.

"nice things are meaningless though." states ivan, as much a fact as sua's declarations about mizi are. their bluntness is usually a shared similarity sua secretly appreciates between them, but today it feels irksome. "plus, those flowers aren't really flowers. they're just plain deceiving, and there's nothing nice about that."

"is it so bad that i wanted to give her something beautiful, something that might last in memory, even if not literally?" sua bites back, unable to keep the offended anger out of her voice and from flushing red across her face. ivan stays candidly composed as always.

"but it won't last, and it's almost sad how much you try to convince yourself otherwise." he says, in a near pitying sort of lilt that only enrages sua further. "it'd be easier to come to terms with it now, you know, before it's too late."

at a loss of words, sua decides to go. she doesn't turn around to see if ivan's still there, and it's always impossible to sense if he's looking or not. his utter audacity always exceeds her, because she knows he'll be back to hanging out with mizi as if no conversation ever happened. his disconcerting insights of the future will just be like an old tune that slips through sua's memory, coming up every now and then in her idle humming.

it scares sua how easily her and ivan could've ended up switching places. it makes her feel all the more undeserving of mizi's interest.

but when all is said and done, she finds the words of terms and pointlessness coming back in equal application to herself and ivan alike. in the end, sua knows they weren't very different at all, just different levels of honest with themselves and each other.

Hello! thabk you for writing out tills perspective it was very good! And sad :( what does Till think once he finds Ivan gone? Does he know that Ivan is dead or does he think he’s just gone

and if he gets that Ivan won’t come back how does he mourn? I think it could be cool if till got into sculpting to make a statue of Ivan)

Also , I was wondering what if sua gave Ivan a little more time like 3 months or 3 years to get till to love him/kiss him so we could have more time of them loving eachother secretly. I specifically think Till keeping Ivan in the fancy rooms for longer is fun, because till can try out all the things he says he wants to do just long enough to miss them when Ivan is gone

I personally imagine till braiding and brushing Ivan’s hair quietly (because I love the mental visuals of Ivan with longer hair) and putting 1 thousand little sliver clips in his hair as one thing I find really interesting! Or maybe till collecting beautiful clothes to dress Ivan in and having enough time for Ivan to try them on but not enough time for him to receive them tailored (and I was also thinking maybe till considers proposing to him, or at least asking him to be a concubine if that’s not allowed but he doesn’t get the chance to give the ring- just enough time to have one made)

guys i can't believe i did a bad ending ngl i think i'm un-canonizing the bad end for a happy one and the bad end can stay a thought unreleased to the world.

i was thinking of having ivan be there for a month, but that's a kind of long time not to sort through feelings... so a week it was. ivan was practically bed-ridden and spent a lot of time asleep, so till would sneak in and brush and braid his hair and decorate him up. and, well, a lifetime of yearning for something, getting a taste of it, and then forever losing it...guys i'm sick why did i do that?!

happy ending time or i'm beating past me up (im making them eighteen its kinda weird otherwise)

the gentle feeling of his hair shifting along like waves in the ocean woke him up. the moon peaked in through the window, spilling its light across the room. the mirror reflected ivan, who was sitting and leaning on another.

the haziness of the entire situation felt like a dream; calming, slow. ivan's eyes were barely cracked open, irises focused on the mirror and the picture it reflected. his head was tilted onto a shoulder, legs saddling another's to make sure he doesn't slip from the very comfortable position he's in.

the brush glides through his hair, gently tugging on his scalp. ivan leaned in the slightest bit. it felt good. compared to his eyes, his lungs, his feet; this person was like a safe haven, a warm spring bath.

he watched as his hair was carefully divided and braided into a relaxed hair style, not pulled too much this way or that. as the end of it was tied with a silk tie, the other hand reached into a box. ivan didn't see it clearly, but if he did, he'd recognize several silver pins with details impossible to get underwater, each a different design.

throughout his midnight hair, stars were scattered across it.

the sound of pen scratching parchment lulled him back to sleep, forgetting the brief moment of awareness.

another painting hung in till's studio, depicting two characters. one, asleep, was in front and the clear subject; the second was behind, carefully pinning the last hairclip in place, recreating the galaxy.

till's pearl was his muse; from paintings to songs, it seemed as if creativity itself sprouted from ivan.

briefly, till fantasized a life where he and ivan would marry. in a month from now, they'd be engaged, and follow a two-year courting period until they're both twenty, and get married.

the entire empire knew he was courting someone at this point. he isn't sure what gave it away; was it the mass amount of jewelry and clothing and paints he commissioned? perhaps someone saw him carry ivan home? or did a servant gossip about it?

till paused, looking at the painting. he had a new idea, and all he had to do was wait for night to come and ivan to sleep.

flowers were delivered to the palace, where till arranged them around ivan's sleeping form. he let his hair fall naturally, but changed the clothing to be looser, as if ivan were floating on the water's surface. the moon carefully shone on ivan's face, giving a feeling of tragic beauty; as if ivan were a corpse on the water, surrounded by the flowers of loved ones.

...till readjusted the scene to make ivan seem immortal.

and, when he stepped back to paint it, he left a light kiss on ivan's forehead.

one night, ivan woke up during a scene. fully awake with conscious thoughts; it had to happen sooner or later.

this one... was a more dubious one that'd be stored under till's bed. his shirt was rucked up, pillow under his neck and shoulder blades to let his head fall back, hair splaying out. his pants were pulled down just a bit to show his hip bone, and the moonlight fell across him to paint a lascivious portrait. till had left marks of himself too; a cloth that lay across ivan's eyes with till's name stitched onto it, jewelry that till had commissioned himself.

ivan was briefly confused by the darkness, before realizing a cloth was gently laid over his eyes. confused, he took it off, stilling at the sight of till painting him.

"what are you..." he couldn't finish his sentence. his mouth had gone dry. the easel was positioned so that he could just barely see the painting, but the glimpse was enough.

there was an obvious artistic choice in it; in the way that ivan's pearl skin was pink, mouth slightly open.

the night ended with a kiss and a kiss and a kiss.

ivan discovered, the morning after, that the knives had completely left. his lungs stopped drowning in unseeable water, and his eyes no longer burned at the slightest disturbance.

till had paraded his fiancé, who wore a veil to shield themself from the world. it was improper to gaze upon them until they wed, after all.

I want to be loved like how Ivan loved Till because wtf.

Ivan looked at Till with such delicacy, but at times, he'd be looking at him with such sadness. It's as if he knew that Till would never look at him, and he was fine with that. Like in Round 3 (Black Sorrow) around 2:34 - 2:46 you can see when till looks at ivan with guilt and goes back and all you see is Ivan face being filled with sadness because he knew that he wouldn't change Till's mind about not going back to save/stay with mizi. As well as when Ivan's facial expressions change from sadness to him completely collecting himself (2:46 - 2:50) and him reaching out his hand as if he was trying to reach out to Till in that moment when they were kids escaping.

If you really think about it, nothing was gonna ever change Ivan's fate. Yes, Ivan could've lived, but he would would've just been another person in Till's world. Till, on the other hand, would've still continued to look/try to catch Mizi's attention every chance he gets.

if it weren't to save Till in round 6, when Ivan dies, till wouldve died because tbh Ivan should've been the one to win but he didnt want that for till if it meant killing himself for it. But now, this time, Till has now finally seen Ivan!! Im sure Till will be haunted for the rest of his life after finally realizing that ivan loved him. Maybe even so much it changes the way he once viewed Ivan as. I sure hope he finds peace soon after all my baby has been through.

Luka Analysis

In the most recent round, "Ruler of my Heart", also known as round 5, we are introduced to Luka, the previous winner of Alien Stage. The first time we see him is in Alien Stage: Sweet Dream where he is on some stage as he looks at the crowd before closing his eyes. He buries his head in his arms and looks to be trying to disassociate from reality. The next time we see him is at the end of Round 3 where he holds a Rubik cubs as he stares listlessly into the distance. His eyes are tired and he looks apathetic.

Now, onto the main course. We finally get to see Luka's personality in action in Round 5, or, atleast, some of it. In the round against Mizi, he seems to trying to purposefully get a rise out of her, especially with mimicking Sua and harassing Mizi with whistles and non consented touching. I specifically remember one user even saying that he genuinely believed Mizi to be competition, so instead of just singing and ignoring her, he decided to try and break her and get a rise out of her. Also interesting to note how much of a villain he has been painted to almost be. We skip his first round because of the overwhelming win he gets, so no exposition or backstory for him, and then he harasses Mizi to the point of breaking. So far, I really like his character.

Another thing to note is that we see slivers of his true self throughout the round, such as when he is twirling Mizi and they stop, only for Mizi to see a monotone and distant expression, and another time when he finally gets pummeled to the ground and he gazes as Mizi is taken away. He looks so done, maybe even tired. He looks, truly, like the apathetic and even sad character that a lot (including me!) Thought he was. Personally, I believe that he is using his "Prince" persona (since in the crowd the aliens had words of PRINCE above their heads) to protect himself. Like a shield from the world. If he hides himself with this persona that was built for HIM, then it will be okay, right?? I won't get hurt, right??

Now, the other can of worms, Hyuna. Currently, we don't know much besides guesses, but what if definitely confirmed is that Hyuna and Luka have history. To what extent, we don't know yet. However it's probably interesting to note that when Hyuna gazed at Luka as she carried away Mizi, she did not look full of hatred. Perhaps pity would be the right word as it cuts to Luka looking so tired of this game, Alien Stage. However, moving to Hyuna for this specific analysis, from the glimpses we have seen of her (and also her prosthetic) it is good to assume she has gone rogue and is not with the program. A criminal, if you will. She seems to be on some rebellion, though these are just guesses, with the way she was carrying away a (most likely) unconscious Mizi. However, a little personal question is raised, "If she could save Mizi, why not Sua?" I think the whole reason why Hyuna was able to get her in the first place is the fact that Mizi caused a ruckus. She attacked Luka, the one where everybody has his eyes on HIM, and threw the place into chaos as she had to physically be dragged away. I am to guess that during such a time it wouldn't be hard to slip in unnoticed and take her. She probably could have taken Till, but since it's his first round eyes ARE already on him, so trying to get him out of Alien Stage is a bit harder than what she did with Mizi. A very risky play, but I am pretty sure that Hyuna saved Mizi. I'm absolutely insane over seeing Hyuna so I'll try and get back on topic, I just love characters who are in rebellions/are criminals.

Now, from here I am gonna start saying more personal guesses and opinions. To begin, since Mizi didn't make it past the second round, and we visibly see Till brokenhearted and overall in despair, I am to guess that he is gonna throw his round against Ivan. However, another thing that might happen, though unlikely, is he gets angrier and finds the resolve to get to the next round to kill Luka. Though, it's unlikely. Hey!! Ivan! The spot for Till's obsession is finally open!! Wanna take it?! (I'm sorry Till, I had to do it)

Ivan, now poor little Ivan, either way this goes, he gets the short end of the stick. I don't know how he'd feel if Till lost his passion, perhaps upset, but one thing that is for sure is that in the Till vs Ivan round a lot of unpacked emotion is gonna go into it. I doubt Ivan is gonna throw now, especially after Round 5 events, but I am doubtful he wants to kill Till either. I theorized with @dapperrokyuu (Hi hon!!) some months ago on how perhaps he will take the yandere route and kill Till simply because if he cannot have him, no one can, but I see that Luka probably fits better in that category. However, Ivan, I could see actually trying to achieve a tie. Instead of killing Till, he ties with him and they both make it to the second round. It's also doubtful either one of them will die, as I vividly remember Vivinos or QMENG saying that the death of Sua was just to really show the events and behavior of Alien Stage, and was more so a prologue than a normality. Ivan, probably, if given the chance, is most likely to join whatever resistance is happening. He found a way out AS A CHILD, he could probably achieve a lot more now he's an adult. Also hopeful that Ivan and Till are able to somehow sit down and talk about their feelings (or maybe sing, we don't know how it'll go).

Now, one final thing before I go, with how different Mizi is becoming in terms of character development and Hyuna's already showcased hot-tempered nature (though, her trying to stab Luka is quite reasonable now), I can definitely see both girls deciding to burn down the entirety of Alien Stage. Hyuna seems to have the strength and experience and Mizi has the drive and motivation necessary, Till might join (because of Mizi, because of the injustice and abuse he faces? Who knows), Ivan, if given the chance, definitely would (especially considering how much he wanted to LEAVE Anakt Garden and found a way OUT), but I think Luka might play a more villainous role than I was anticipating. He has been shown as this asshole who harasses women, but we, the audience, can see that he looks so tired when that drops. Also, his interview seems to say that he is content living as this animal for entertainment for the Aliens, which most of the cast, if not the rest of them, say the opposite.

Ok so i love this analysis. Which is why i am interested to learn who Hyuna is supposed to look like because Sua is drawn as Snow White because her character is inspired from her. Her prince is Mizi. Sua is very fragile, kind, beautiful princess, she was jeolous by her sisters and her owner, just like how witch hated her. She needs to be kissed by her saviour to wake up. Though, in this case, she wakes Mizi up by her death and saves her eventually.

And Ivan is called like a charming prince by Mizi, his personality is prince like. Everyone admires him so Prince Charming fits him and his Cinderella is Till, lol. Cinderella has very unfortunate, sad life until she met her fairy mother and prince. Just like Till, who is always in bad sitution. And prince needs to find him because Cinderella is like a hidden treasure, like Till. He is the one who treats him that way. And he saves his Cinderella. Ivan saves his precious one. And i think Till's fairy mother is (maybe Mizi too), her mother who prayed God for her son to be loved and apperantly, Ivan's name is also read as "God's gift".

Yes, they are protecting their "apple", "Apple in the eye" usually mentioned for someone who is very precious. For Sua, her %100 is Mizi. For Ivan, his %100 is Till. I think Hyuna might've romantic feelings for Luka but i think they are not each other's %100. For Hyuna, her precious one was Hyunwoo. In artbook, she mentions him as her jewel and how she lost him. He is her %100, her Apple. So i think this Apple might not necessarely mean romantic love but who knows. Hyuna's Apple isnt here because her brother is gone. But again, i am also interested in the character who is Hyuna supposed to be here and this relation to her and Luka's story.

But I want to share my opinions on this one since it just, well- strike on my mind

The characters are divided with these hearts surrounding their name with their corresponding eye color

So I'm assuming the reason why Sua and Ivan are holding an apple is prolly because it's a visual representation of who they love.

Sua is holding the apple with tender care using both of her hands just like how she have her feelings for Mizi, she treasures their relationship so much that Sua looks stressed (at the picture) since she knows the bad things that the aliens are doing in their society unlike Mizi who has a supportive and non-abusive aliens/guardians and doesn't have a clue (yet) on the negative side of these alien invasion.

When it comes to the outfit, she's wearing a princess gown.. but with a cape(?) like a superhero cape one? Is that why they deleted it because it shows a sign about the ROMH Sua ver?

"My savior, pitiful lady. Make me your god, I can give you everything"

It also shows that Sua is Mizi's inspiration, savior, or even a hero the moment they met, and have that spark even grew while she admires her.

Ivan is holding the apple carefree, even smiling in the picture, showing no signs of any negative feelings (stressed, upset, anger, etc.)

This is something like- how we view Ivan base on appearance yet never know what runs on his mind behind that smile, knowing that something negative may be happening but he still keeps his calm composure about it.

As for his outfit, a charming prince, simple design for someone who has good looks

Hyuna.

She's not holding any apple. Which means that she don't have any feelings for anyone (sorry Luka) but she's doing a gun sign instead, which is foreshadowing on her situation since she got shot on her right arm.

Now, as much as possible I don't want our queen Hyuna to die at the next round but I think there's a 50/50 possibility.

That picture at the top is a picture of dead characters, but Hyuna isn't dead(?) is this foreshadowing that Hyuna is next??? Aside from being shot at her arm, we'll never know what did Mizi and Hyuna do next since there primary goal there is to save the alien stage contestants, and it's smh delayed since they got into a trouble that they never expected to happen.

On her outfit, I don't know what style is this called my bad, but she got this purple coat, black fur, and a hat with a feather on it.

PURPLE COAT. PURPLE. She's wearing a color associated with someone. (I hope that this isn't just color theory, if it is I'm going to cry)

And that someone is no one else other than:

Luka has been associated with purple in a lot of scenes.

In my opinion, Luka has a part in Hyuna's life ofc, even though Hyuna doesn't have this romantic feelings for Luka, she still values him as a childhood friend but then their relationship as they grow up begins to be complicated. (I won't explain it any further since this might become a whole ahh fanfic with how much number of the words that I've typed out)

So, I think, that Luka will be involve when something bad happen to Hyuna, but I really hope nothing bad happens to her since she has a great potential on how the story plot will go.

We should be more worried about Arthur

Most of us are focused on Ivan, if Kingme Twitter is anything to go off of. However, I would like to direct our attention back to Arthur. This could be me overthinking, but once this post is done I will have hopefully made you just as paranoid as I am :)

So what made me so suspicious of Arthur was really the music video and lyrics for Black Crown. So we will start with this set of images:

One could assume that Ivan is having a vision here. So the camera cuts to Arthur popping his head up in the choreography and he’s centering as well as right in front of the camera. One could say he draws more attention than Jahan does. Then the camera cuts back to Ivan at the “conference.” (I know this piece of evidence is really weak, but bare with me because it’ll tie into something bigger). So why does Ivan have that vision of Arthur and why does he look so catatonic afterwards? We’ll find out in this post.

I’m not saying that this is Arthur, hold on. As I’ve said in a different theory, Black Crown is about Ivan fighting the darkness within and losing. I feel like we could all agree that the people in the black cloaks represent darkness.

Now with that being said, remember this image of the “darkness” surrounding our Kings?

Well the lyrics before this scene are as follows: “I can hear the lonely cry in my ears. A sad voice that embraces you like you’re possessed.” Guys, I think that sad voice is Arthur.

I might be going crazy here, BUT THATS LITERALLY ARTHUR! LOOK AT HIM WITH THE MUTED RED HAIR THAT IS HIM! Why is he leading the darkness, I wonder?

Ok, even if you don’t believe that’s Arthur I have something so much more convincing.

Look at this throne that Ivan takes the Black Crown from:

Please take notice the background and the distinct way the throne looks like.

Now look at the throne that Arthur spends the entire mv in:

Guys…what the absolute Hell! HE IS THE MAN IN THE ARMOR AND BLACK CLOAK. HE IS KING ARTHUR, LOOK AT THE HELMET THE MAN IN THE BLACK CLOAK IS WEARING, THATS MEDIEVAL!!! Pray tell, WHY would they show Arthur in that exact same throne the WHOLE TIME if we weren’t supposed to make that connection. And it’s the exact same red, dilapidated room with rocks in the back.

I would also like to call attention to the fact that Arthur is in a room surrounded by fire. I have another theory that Ivan is trying to burn the darkness away in himself (but fails) and look at this image:

THE CAMERA MAKES IT LOOK LIKE ARTHUR IS BURNING, DOESN’T IT? Making it clear that he is part of the darkness. You know what this means, right? Arthur is the one that gave Ivan the black crown that began Ivan’s fight with his inner self.

Further evidence in the lyrics (these are all lines sang by Arthur):

“Accept it, just the way you are.” “Don’t forget, don’t forget who we are.” “Endure the pain of astonishing power, there’s no limit.” “So what, follow it till the end.”

All of these words can be seen as different ways Arthur tries to get Ivan to accept his dark side or the power of the black crown.

So now that we’ve established that Arthur gave the darkness to Ivan the next question anyone would have is why? To be honest, I don’t really know so this next part is truly just speculation.

I think Arthur had the darkness in himself and needed someone to “pass it on” to rid of it from himself?

I only say that because of this scene in the mv:

When Ivan takes the black crown from Arthur this purple magic gets released (it’s unclear in a photo so if you need to, watch this part of the mv again). Also notice how it’s “good Ivan” that takes the crown from him. I think when Ivan took the black crown the darkness was passed on to him from Arthur. Remember that the voice that Ivan hears is referred to as “lonely” and “sad” and I said that was Arthur’s voice convincing Ivan to take the black crown. That’s why Arthur gave him the black crown, so he wouldn’t have to suffer anymore?

Additionally, the vision from earlier was maybe Ivan realizing that Arthur was trouble, yet he couldn’t do anything to keep himself away from him?

So I’m not sure when Arthur was infected with darkness but I would like to say sometime during HOK 2 because in the song Magical it is he who sings “Look at the darkness that spreads in my heart. We have to tear the night apart.”

Now I don’t think we’ll be hearing anything else from Arthur. If I’m correct, Arthur rid himself of the darkness so he should be good now. Although Ivan still has it in him and it pretty much looks like Ivan will be the villain of HOK 4 (like how in my opinion Arthur was the villain of HOK 3). I think in HOK 4 Dann will find a way to vanquish the darkness in Ivan without having to pass it on to someone else. Also because Kingdom said the next three Kings after Dann are supposed to have more lighter concepts I think the darkness will be permanently eradicated in HOK 4 (or at least for now ;)

“Weren’t you with Ladybug yesterday?” Lila looked confused.

“Of course Ladybug was with me yesterday! Because Sabrina got akumatized! So either you’re lying or your magic dance summons an akuma.”

Lila sweatdropped. Chloe chooses to use her brain now?

Lila put a hand on her heart and feigned shock. “I’m not lying! But maybe the magic dance was only meant for me after all. Ladybug only showed it to me.”

Chloe cocked her hip. “Ah yes. Your utterly ridiculous dance. Tell you what. If your dance really works, why don’t you show it to us all now and summon Ladybug.”

Lila flushed. “You know exactly why i perform that dance in private, Chloe!”

Chloe gave a fake yawn. “What’s the point of boasting about your connection with Ladybug when you don’t have any proof? At least people have seen Ladybug visit my roof when I use my Bee signal. But you? Ladybug has never visited you in public. And I highly doubt she thinks such a charitable person as yourself is worthy of a miraculous. You’re no Rena Rouge. You’re just a wannabe fox heroine.”

Lila’s face grew redder. “How dare you? After I tried to help you?”

Chloe raised her eyebrow. “I know you’re from Greece (if Chloe can confuse Asian cultures, why not Greek and Roman?), but your French can’t be that bad. You didn’t help me. You sabotaged me. And rest assured, I intend to return the favour. Sabrina told me your Mother works for the Italian embassy, doesn’t she? I think I’ll ask Dad to invite them all for a nice dinner and she can tell the whole tale about how Ladybug saved you.”

Lila panicked. Her Mother cannot get involved, everything will be ruined if she does. Quickly composing her face, Lila shrugged it off. “If you please. But she’ll just confirm whatever I’ve been saying.”

Chloe smirked. “We’ll see.”

And she walked off, unwilling to let the liar get the last word. Sabrina followed, not giving Lila another glance.

Lila stewed. She had to change Chloe’s mind. But how?

Later in the morning, once Chloe had gone to the bathroom during a class break, Lila approached Sabrina. “Hey, Sabrina.”

Sabrina jumped, looking nervous to see Lila close by. Chloe would not like to see her BFF talking to the girl who humiliated her.

Lila saw this and was just as eager to make this quick before Chloe returned. Feigning a carefree attitude, Lila asked what Sabrina was doing that afternoon.

Sabrina frowned. “I’ll be helping Chloe prepare the dinner arrangements. After that, I’ll help Chloe prepare for the dinner.”

Lila gasped. “You mean you don’t even get to attend?”

Sabrina shook her head.

Lila put on an apologetic face. “I’m so sorry, Sabrina. I didn’t mean to ruin your afternoon with my advice. I wish there was something I could do.”

Sabrina gave Lila a look. “Well, you could actually perform the dance in public, say during lunch time? If Ladybug shows up just for you and Chloe sees it, she’ll have to admit you’re telling the truth.”

Lila just smiled at Sabrina, promising nothing.

For the rest of the morning, Lila was frantically trying to attract an akuma. Her own alarm and panic was not enough.

Lila told Rose a lie that Prince Ali has a fiancée and she was one of the first to know. Rose was disappointed but not surprised. She knew she hardly had a chance with Prince Ali romantically. They hardly saw each other. Juleka was happy to cheer Rose up.

Lila asked Mylene how her tree planting event had gone. Lila sympathizes that Ivan lied to Mylene rather than trusted her with the truth. Did he think Mylene wouldn’t understand? Mylene admits she had been upset with her Boyfriend but they had already hashed it out.

Lila can’t put her frame/accuse-Marinette plan into action yet. There isn’t a test at the moment.

Lila tries to rub it in Max’s face that he got beaten by Marinette. But Alix jumps into their conversation and admits it’s nice to have another female winner in an event stereotyped for males. Max doesn’t dare argue in the face of that statement.

And Lunch has arrived. Coincidentally, an akuma appeared on the other side of the city. Sabrina gave Lila another look, silently promising that one way or another Chloe will avenge herself.

(Now, in case you’re wondering, Lila wanted the akuma for herself, to become Volpina and cast an illusion of Ladybug again. But too late)

Lila tries to get her Mother to stay at home by feigning to be grievously ill enough to be sent to the hospital.

The Doctors will immediately point out Lila has no broken bones, but Lila forces herself to vomit in class and claims this was a regular occurrence ever since she decided to go on a diet. She had even suffered hair loss.

“Is that the excuse for your hair-don’t?” mocked Chloe.

Lila’s Mother does make an appearance at the hospital but the Doctors are baffled because Lila looks perfectly healthy.

In any case, the blood work needs some time to be finished. The doctor’s advice was to just let Lila try to eat dinner and sleep early. (I’m just basing off what I read in Kitchen Princess volume 2)

Sadly, Lila’s Mother won’t stay even if her Daughter is suspected to have an eating disorder. She asked their neighbour to look after Lila while she attends a mandatory dinner.

Lila wants to scream. If her plan had failed, she would have tried something else to sabotage the dinner (set off the fire alarm) but she can’t leave under the neighbour’s watchful eye.

So while Chloe asked Mrs Rossi her opinion of Ladybug, Lila did have one bit of good news.

The doctor had suggested feeding Lila what she liked to eat. Knowing she will be grounded very soon, Lila indulges herself on lasagne and rich chocolate cake.

She goes to sleep and pretends to continue so when her Mother slams the door open.

After dismissing the neighbour and thanking her, Mrs Rossi checks on Lila to see if she was indeed asleep before deciding their confrontation could wait till morning.

That dinner was the most humiliating event Mrs Rossi could remember. Not only was she the only one to believe Ladybug was incompetent; but the Parisians had been insulted that she had badmouthed their heroine. Their offended faces turned to incredulity when they heard her faulty evidence from her own Daughter. Then that Chloe girl told her that her own Daughter was said to have been saved by Ladybug and that they were BFFs. After that there came the theory that Lila was playing truant since the school hadn’t shut down, as Chloe could very well attest to.

The next morning, Lila tries to delay the inevitable by feigning exhaustion. Her Mother strangely lets it go as she announces she is off to work.

Lila tries to suppress the hope that maybe something went wrong with Chloe’s plan, like she couldn’t attend because she had another appointment.

The reason behind Mrs Rossi’s departure is because she wants all the facts before she confronts her daughter. She had called an emergency meeting with the principal and Ms Bustier. Imagine her shock and sadness to learn her daughter changed her parental contact information and her excuse for truancy. Mrs Rossi clears up the matter for the faculty and all agree Lila will be in massive trouble. Detention sounds like a lenient punishment for forging signatures and email fraud. But Lila’s truancy means she will have to stay back a year. She won’t graduate with the class.

Meanwhile, at class, Chloe boasts about Lila’s true nature with video evidence. Let’s just say the class are upset to learn that their friend had called Ladybug useless. Alya is shocked and Lila’s phone is exploding with texts demanding explanations and pleading for it not to be true.

Lila reads it all but doesn’t answer. Her whole world is crumbling before her eyes. Why hasn’t an akuma come for her then?

The akuma wasn’t attracted by Lila’s dull acceptance and rage, her emotions weren’t as strong when she knew this was coming.

No, the akuma was attracted towards sweet, innocent Rose, most sensitive of the girls. Because Lila’s betrayal really stung her.

Alya apologized to Marinette for not believing her. It makes the whole class realize Lila had been taking advantage of them, and makes them recall their discussions with her yesterday. Had Lila been intentionally trying to upset them?

Going further back, they analyse everything Lila had told them. Promises she had not yet fulfilled. Her implication that Ladybug doesn’t care about the earth. Yeah, the class idolizes Ladybug and while they didn’t really believe Ladybug was apathetic about the earth’s issues, they had dismissed it back then. Now, they are furious, especially since a lot of them have become heroes.

In all the chaos, Rose becomes akumatizes into Princess Fragrance. She will hold Lila on trial, and then decide her punishment. Luckily, Adrien and Marinette led the charge out of the class once they saw Rose transform.

Rose is stopped before she reaches Lila but her akumatization and reason for it make the news.

Before the day is over, when Mrs Rossi returns to work, she is told she has been called back to Italy because she had been sacked/demoted for her incompetence, ignorance and for humiliating the Italian embassy.

As Mrs Rossi packs her things (one of them a tiny plant), her despair, shame and rage against her Daughter summons a second akuma. She turns into Mother Nature.

If Lila was the bad seed, Mrs Rossi was the one who watered the tree. Mother Nature’s powers allow her to prove she can raise beautiful things.

She is defeated.

Mrs Rossi accepts her punishment and prepares to move back to Italy.

Lila is still staying in Paris. Her Father had been in another city but is also still a diplomat stationed in France. He will take over his wife’s station. Mrs Rossi can’t look after Lila and find a new job at the same time.

In addition to her school punishments, Lila will be getting a nanny, no allowance, grounded. Mrs Rossi knows Lila will face worse punishments once she returns to school tomorrow since the doctor confirmed Lila was fine. (Medical fees paid over nothing irked Mrs Rossi further)

At school, Lila is left to sit alone. Nathaniel decided to sit next to Ivan since he needs some closure.

Thanks to Marinette insisting the class not get worked up over Lila, the class ignores her but Lila notices she is glared at on her way to her desk.

Marinette and Alya throw a party for Chloe, under the excuse that it is to celebrate her time as Queen Bee now that she is retired. Alya had wanted to honor Marinette too but Marinette declines because she doesn’t need to be the center of attention.

Chloe was annoyed by the reminder that she can no longer be a hero but basks in everyone’s thanks for exposing that liar.

Adrien can’t argue because he has just learnt how much Lila had intentionally tried to hurt their class, and Chloe needs to be cheered up after Miraculer. Like after Oniichan, Adrien avoids Lila when she tries to hurt the people he loves. (Seriously the boy needs to stand up for the love of his life. Lila has badmouthed Ladybug in front of Adrien several times, and he has not defended her. Even after Oniichan, he still greets Lila cordially in Miraculer! Argh! 😠 also...why leave Ladybug alone with Lila when she was clearly fine?!)

Lila can’t even summon an akuma when her round-the-clock Nanny stays outside the classroom door and is there to walk her home for lunch. It’s a shame, because she really could have used an akuma after seeing the party. But her nanny was instructed to keep akumas away since Lila had been akumatized at least twice.

With the class ignoring her, Lila has no chance to make new ‘friends’ or get her old ones back. Not when she has to return home immediately for lunch or when school ends. Even during group projects, Lila has to communicate from home.

The class makes their hatred of Lila known in gym.

Oh, and now that Lila had been publicly announced a liar, Gabriel has no use for her. He doesn’t reach out to her anymore and Lila knows she has been fired.

Lila’s stay in Paris is assuredly miserable. And to think she had done all this because she wanted Adrien all to herself and tried to humiliate the competition.

ACORN BEING IN D11 IS LITERALLY GENIUS LMAO. you need an award for that one I think. Does that mean Durian (green haired R4 girl) is in D11 too? That would be funny.

I was also debating between putting Ivan in District 1 or District 2 (was very tempted to put Ivan in 1 just for the dynamic between him and Sua as career tributes and models). The fact that he's an ambassador of several luxury brands is just perfect too. Eventually I settled on 2 because of the perfect, obedient qualities that are held in high regard by people like peacekeepers (hope this doesn't come off as weird) and the fact that Unsha has a good reputation because he works hard to cover up his more illegal activities. My friend brought up the possibility that Unsha moved to 2 in order to reinforce the image that they were law-abiding, upstanding citizens and to give Ivan the best training possible. Plus, District 2 specializes in weaponry and Unsha's got that whole secret mafia thing going on. There's also the fact that District 2 is incredibly wealthy so I guess it's close enough? I do think Ivan and Unsha are connected with the folks from District 1 for stuff like photoshoot and all the brand stuff. It's pretty unheard of for district people to travel outside their own district, but Ivan is exceptionally good in behavior and has proven himself to be a person worthy of trust, so just like the removal of his collar in canon I think he'd be granted special privileges (he would be under heavy surveillance, though).

Also wait hold on you're definitely cooking something with the D11 Till.... his connection to flowers is something that he leans heavily on in this AU (I imagine his knowledge on plants like that would aid him in the wilderness) but come to think of it, it's quite hard to justify it when he's from D12... I guess it'll be like Katniss and her family apothecary. Even though they're from 12 they're still incredibly knowledgeable on plantlife due to hunting experience and old books.

Also you completely got what I was trying to do with Sua!! She does in fact die in the games sacrificing herself for Mizi. She and Mizi have been working and staying close together during their time in the games and the sponsors love it. Sua nicknames Mizi her "Jellyfish Girl" (side note I find it extremely cute how Sua canonically calls her this in the Anakt yearbook messages) and Mizi calls her a variety of nicknames ranging from Clematis, Pearlie, etc. When Sua dies for Mizi the Capitol is so heartbroken and sad that they double down on their sponsorships and gifts toward Mizi in an effort to support her. It's for the best, too, because after Sua's death Mizi is so utterly crushed that she cannot do anything, not even able to feed herself. During this period she lives off of the pity gifts the sponsors send her (one of the most frequent sponsors is Shine, who constantly sends Mizi food and water, and at one point even her blanket from home).

I also made Luka a mentor for Sua because of their similarities! The impersonation thing was also a big inspiration for it. I'd imagine Sua would pull some of Luka's strategies in the games which would further boost her ratings.

Now that I think about it, you're so right about Hyuna and Hyunwoo looking like District 12. The dark skin and almost grey eyes.... I always thought of Hyuna as somewhat of a mix between Katniss and Lucy Gray! I would've put them in 12 too, but I decided on another district instead because I don't know if Phan would fit into the poorest district considering how he is almost like a noble and a very superior being. Hyuna's reason for her participation in ALNST was solely due to Phan, after all, and I tried to translate that into this AU. Phan is a researcher, however, and he has one hell of a physical appearance. Like seriously, he looks insane. I think if his design was revealed it would make a little more sense why I put him in the District of Power. I also tried to spread out the characters into different districts as much as I could just for the sake of not lacking too many tributes. If I could I'd put the majority of them in 12... The sponsor angle and the sensationalization of two District 12s and a District 1 team-up is a really cool idea, though! They definitely would pull that kind of angle since the Capitol loooves drama and storylines. I genuinely love the concept of it! It's actually making me reconsider my placing of Hyuna ngl

HEAVILY agree with Dewey and Isaac from 3, Isaac especially because he seems like the more technical guy (iirc he's the one manning the electronic board thing during Mizi & Hyuna's infiltration at the end of ROUND 6).

Ivan killing Acorn after he tried to poison Till..... my GOD that is amazing. I'd also love to see Till go apeshit on a guy just because I think he deserves it. Though I do often think about that one VIVINOS deleted tweet where she said that Till doesn't have the heart to actually kill a person (I assume Freddie is an exception because he's a snobby alien).

Bonus: I think at one point Mizi would be gifted brass knuckles and she'd absolutely go to town with it. The sponsors (who began getting bored of Mizi's lack of progress and moved on to wanting more entertainment) would immediately 360 and start betting heavy on her. Actually in terms of weapons I think Till would have a bat (swinging and smashing it like he did Freddie), Sua a small dagger and/or throwing knives, and Ivan.... honestly as a joke I was just going to say his hands. Since. You know. Choking (haha. hahahaha. ha.) But also because Ivan seems to handle himself pretty well with just his big ass fists (absolutely fucking Till up in that one CURE flashback even though he was literally half his size as a kid) would Ivan benefit from brass knuckles? Probably. IvanMizi bestie moment? Perchance. Although Ivan was described as being pretty good at everything, so I imagine he'd be capable of using a wide range of weapons.

We start from what caused all of this to happen... when i was in middle school still i was on roblox... i had great friends... one of them named herself Jaidenanimations (not the real one...) also known as Courtnie... she was the nicest.. at the time she had a bf named Dud.. (btw Dud is Older then both me AND courtnie.. he acted like a complete creep around her..) but fsr.. Dud broke up with her.... someone named Ethan dated her too... but then broke up with her... and who knows if he is older then courtnie at the time... she was now sad... so i decided to become her bf... and when i did... we were... THE BEST... we loved each other more then anything... she would without me asking, want to do a drp with me... she wanted to come to my house... she wanted to meet me irl... she was better then anyone...things got a bit worst... Jaiden was now enemies with everyone... (Ethan, Dud, Jonathan, etc...) she doesnt want them to follow her... so i decied to be a bit strict.. and tell her to NOT go to any of the roblox games till she blocks them... and she lies to me... saying that... She lied to me for YEARS... saying she was my age.... i blocked Aidan and never talked to him ever again... and jaiden finally talks to me and we were in good terms... but then... Found a Missing Tape

“Okay, okay! Are you ready for the big adventure Fred?” he looked at his friend with excitement, his body jittered with joy, as he was like bouncing off the walls.

“Yes! Now can we need to hurry up Ben, I don’t want it to be too late” his friend rolled his eyes as he got a cam recorder in his hand.

Both guys were excited to film their first YouTube video. It was 2009 and Youtube only started to become popular They packed their rucksaks with food, extra batteries , torches, lights that’s attached to the recorder and tripods to take epic pictures. Even tho it was middle of Winter in January, they were still rearing to go. For a while they had their own Facebook page to take abandoned photos of builds, the eerie lifeless of buildings, gave it a creepy surprise. Like it was from a zombie movie. Both guys were best friends since highschool and they do everything together. Fred was tall and skinny, at least 6.2ft, his hair was brown but curly and he hardly brushed it, everyone called him ‘bush’ but since leaving school he like his own name, he had a skater style along with Ben. Ben was Chinese but he spoke English fluently and could only say a few Chinese words to pick up women, even tho it never worked. Ben was 5.8ft, an average looking guy, but love to wear black, even tho had the skater heart. Brown hair, brown eyes, with a tan too match, compared to Fred, he was a pastey white boy. They were still best friends without a doubt.

“Okay I’m all set” as they got into Ben’s car, stopped by the gas station before they hit to their destination. “Heyy Fred, Do you think it’s still abandoned? I’ve heard stories about that place man? I don’t think we should go?”

Fred ran back and jumped into the car, shouting out through the window “dude! It’s going to be awesome! We are going to take wicked sick videos and pictures. And anyways, our friends been there before you know, that big party they had but we were sick. It should be okay”. Ben just nodded as he finishing up the tank and paying it on his card. They drove into the distance, early hours in the morning.

Hours went by, soon as they came across the building, they parked up and hiked to the place where they were going to film. Fred and Ben were infront of the camera “heyy guys! It’s me Fred and Ben! Coming to you, to this abaoned location. Now this place is so old and so creepy, we had to see it! It’s an asylum but was going turn into a hotel. But now abandoned! Ain’t that cool!”

Ben smiled and using hand gestures “dude it’s going to be fucking cool! So I looked into the buildings history! We are in Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia. This place was said to be haunted! Cool right! Apparently they tested on their own patients and did lobotomies, where the doctors used an ice pick and went through your brain, from your eye. Dude that’s creepy”

Fred interrupted “and and and, local people are still saying, the patients who died here along with doctors and nurses, are still here. Spooookkyy!”

Bed interrupted “so we are here! Going inside and look around! Ain’t that cool dude?”

“So cool” replied Fred, with extreme anticipation.

Ben was holding the camera will Fred was looking around, both followed into the dark rooms and the light lead them the way. Each find of a wheelchair, an operation table was well documented. The paint was peeling off and the green mould was growing in the corners of some of the rooms. Each of them had this sadness that they couldn’t wait to be here. Fred insisted Ben to hold the camera while Ben was doing the entertaining and giving out more history stories.

“So, this room I bet is where they did the lobotomies...” then suddenly they both got interrupted by a sound near by. They both went quiet and tip toed to the noise.

11 years later.

“Omg I cannot believe you found this place” Bailey flirtatiously teasing her boyfriend John, their friend Ivan couldn’t wait to leave. Bailey a typical girl with died red hair, black shorts with a grey tank top and John wearing his jeans with a graphic tee that had on ‘Rick and Morty’. Ivan was wearing something similar to John since they were friends. All three in college and a few YouTubers visited the asylum too; then all went to this Building in Virginia because they all went to college near by. They all got bored during summer break and before they head back home, they wanted to do some exploring. Searching on the web, Bailey wanted to go to an Asylum to cross off her bucket list.

After a few minutes of guessing on google maps, they finally found it. All derelict and no one around, the only sounds are the birds cheeping in the distance. It felt peaceful, they tried to go inside the asylum. The doors were falling off and the black mould growing up the walls in the hallway. As they approached a dead end since the building was falling apart, they decided to head home. As they were walking, Bailey shouted “wait a minute guys, I think I see a cam recorder” John grabbed Ivan and they both followed Bailey. The room was an old office and nothing haven’t been touched for decades. The papers were still there along with documation of the patients that stayed. John grabbed them and Ivan followed, he went into the filing cabinets and took as much information as they could. Bailey put the cam recorder in her bag and all of them headed to the car.

Driving back to the college, she said “most of this tape is fried and slightly damp. Do you think Paris can take a look for us?”

Ivan replied as he was driving on the highway “I don’t see why not. What do you think is in there?”

Bailey handed over the cam recorder to John “whatever is inside, it’s been there along time. Strange that something like this is in there”

They all headed to Paris, who was the head at the media department. For a teacher, she had piercings on her lips and ears, tattoos all over her body. For a 42 year old, she looked 10 years younger. “Wow I haven’t seen something like this in 11 years! Back then, this was state of the art! Still working just the tape is a bit damp. Maybe tomorrow it will be finished. Where did you guys find it?”

Bailey shrugged and was nervous to talk “we found it at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum”

“You fucking what! That place is bad news! How did you even go there?” Screamed Paris as she folded her arms looking at John and Ivan. They both shrugged and looked down with disappointment.

“Do you know what... fine I will do it. Only because I’m curious myself” Paris held the cam recorder and took out the tape which was slightly damaged. The three of them walked out and closed the door behind them.

3am the next morning

*Ring, ring ring* “ugh... hey babe, can you get that” muttered John as he woke up Bailey. She muttered, picked up the phone from the bed night stand “yeahh, this is John’s phone. What the fuck do you want at this... yeahh. Wait now?! .... Do I have... okay... yes we getting dressed.... fine I will get Ivan too.... yes we will be there.... okay, bye” she poked John till he got up. She put on a black dress with her blue sparkley converse on. “John get up” as she took the covers off him “we need to get up now. Get ivan, he needs to come too”

John still in his pjs, he went next door to his dorm and got Ivan. Ivan was in his sweat pants and no top on, luckily he worked out and had a six pack to show off. All half asleep expect for Bailey, she was anxious and her nerves were running high. They both got into Paris’s office and she had beer cans all over her desk; including empty beer cans in the trash that was piling over ready to burst at any moment. Her room was dark and musky, the blinds drawn as you can see the sunrise appearing through at any moment. She got spair chairs from another class room and the three of them sat down, huddled over the computer. “Okay this is fucking creepy and I’ve already called the cops, they are coming in the morning. But you need to see this” as she opened up another beer can, Ivan felt uncomfortable as her breath stank of stale beer. She pressed play as she saw two guys in the video.

Fred and Ben were having a blast, recording everything they could find, even the old theatre. Suddenly they both screamed as the door flew open and a bird flew past them. The guys were laughing their heads off. A few more minutes in, they saw something in the hallway, they ran after it “omg do you think someone else is here” Fred panting to Ben.

“Well whatever it is, it’s fucking cool” then they both stopped. A gastly apparition was following them back, they started to scream. Ben dropped the camera and Paris, John, Ivan and Bailey saw a black face starring into the camera with red eyes. Then black. Suddenly the cam recorder was switched on, Ivan, Paris, John and Bailey all held each other close tight, as they saw something carrying the camera. The background noise was heavy breathing, walking around the asylum as if nothing happened.

Paris pressed stop “that was was fucking freaky”

John was built well and had a deep voice, but it cracked “what the fuck”.

“What was even is that?” Bailey looked over at Ivan as he was in a fetal position, rocking back and forth.

“It doesn’t stop there. 4 years ago when the building was going to change into a hotel like everyone had been promised for fucking years. The builders found the mummified remains of the boys in the basement. It was all over the news, apparently they were missing for years!”

“Omg I remember that... but how did they die?” John asked as he was biting his fingers.

“No one knows, but maybe this video will help” as Paris brought up the screen again with the black face starring at them on the computer screen.

BUT IM BACK WITH MORE THOUGHTS ! I don’t remember who sent the idea for the happy ending in the little mermaid au but I LOVED IT

I was also like omg they could have so many cute interactions about their cultural differences!!!! Like till has been trying to show his love and poor Ivan is like “I have no smooth rocks I guess he doesn’t like me :(“ and till can be all sad because Ivan seems to like all the gifts but always seems a bit disappointed and he’s all like “ah I guess my gifts aren’t fancy enough I guess I have to win him over with something better” and once they work it out they can feel VERY silly

(also is Ivan mute in this universe? Normally the mermaid can’t speak so they can’t really communicate with each-other but this could also be accomplished by Ivan just not speaking a lot of the human language and I don’t remember if that was in this AU at all lol)

I really really like this au and I find their dynamic so delicious!!!! Yum much munch munch- also does till confess his love actively or is just Ivan putting 2 and 2 together? If he does I would love to hear that (I personally think he skips the I love u and dives right into the “PLEASE MARRY ME” cause he gets kinda embarrassed at Ivan seeing his raunchy painting of him.

also is Ivan sick in other ways? Because he must be sleeping very deeply for till to get away with it, and does Ivan have any lingering pain from the magic?

shhhhh i made mermaids able to speak for plot purposes. if u check og post you'll get why. ig ivan is so obsessed he learned whatever he could, including from books and stuff... so...

i think ivan's unused to being human and out of the water. compared to the soft bedding, the ocean was freezing, and the warmth often lulls him into a deep sleep. its just that till allowed him to get cold enough to wake him up fully... which neither of them realize until a decade later or something. (its really nice to sleep on a cold night in a warm blanket.)

yeah, till goes something like, "fuck! it's not what it looks like! i'm not going to fuck you before we marry or something! it's just-"

and ivan's like, "we're marrying?" in a soft, bewildered voice, freshly woken up.

...i thought smooth stones were a penguin thing. but they are sea creatures, and there could be lore!! like, ancient mermaids learned this when they lived in the arctic after observing some penguins, then as they migrated north they kept this as tradition.

till gives ivan flowers, too, but ivan doesn't realize what it means until he seas a loving couple basically spell it out for him. then he turned red and collapses in flustered embarrassment when he remembers he ate those flowers.

till's love is basically a cure-all for ivan's pain. ivan is the epitome of healthy human.

right yall time to nap and replenish creativity..
