A cleansing ritual brought me so much clarity this month... Thank you, @999autumn for tagging me. You’re a genuine soul from what I’ve experienced of you. When you grow up, inside more than out, you realize that the ones who do cartwheels to get your attention are just battling codependency issues that they haven’t resolved, and you’ll kick yourself for ignoring or mistreating the ones that gave you the space to grow and heal in your own way while remaining confident enough in their own skin to know their boundaries and keep their distance until you’ve had the time to heal those fresh wounds. I’ve been both the codependent one, seeking validation in healing others, and the one that felt like an idiot for ignoring the one whose heart bled for me in silence as I was let to heal at my own pace. I came to realize that they were waiting on me to heal myself while I was busy looking for someone to heal. Neither path (looking to heal or be healed by someone outside of yourself) leads to joy. I promise. Give me until December. If the people that pretend to love me don’t sabotage me again before then, I’ll be okay by December. That’s what I tell myself at least. I’ll give you until December, too. But, I won’t make any promises, As that’s not a lot of time, And everything is always up in the air. But, while life may be a circus, I’m nobodies trick pony. My dream from this morning. What a dream to have on the 1st of February. Eraxmus. Exhuma. These are the spellings that I instinctively gave to the words that were said to me by a Native man I don’t know and his 200 year old mother who both spoke to me in my dream. I did a little research on these terms, as I had never heard of either of them before. It turns out that Exuma is also known as the Cays, a district of the Bahamas. The indigenous people there were there before the Spanish enslaved and erased them were the Lucayan, a branch of the Taino peoples. Erasmus was a famous European scholar and linguist who was a profound element in the Humanist movement in Northern Europe. Through hear-say, I have been told that I do have relatives from, “The Islands”. Which islands are never identified and how was never told or fully known, it seems. To top it off, I have been mistaken for Rihanna (a Bajan, herself) more than once in the past in photos and in person. We have a very similar facial structure. According to my DNA results, I am 1/8th European. About 1 to 5 percent of that is Germanic/Northern European. Erasmus was allegedly born in Holland. I also love to study language and culture, and have a deep love for Ancient Greece. Erasmus translated the New Testament into Greek which led to a “theological revolution”. You know how the Ancient Greeks were, all workouts and philosophy. I wonder who the girl I hugged was... I think my ancestors came to speak to me in my dreams again.
