One of my dozen side-projects doing me proud. With the help of some very talented people and a little elbow grease (aka project guidance) on my part, this extremely part time side gig is continuing to explode. That website went from near zero monthly visitors a year ago to over 900 visitors PER DAY now. And it's just getting started! Did I mention it is an extremely part time and low budget (non-priority) project? Some weeks I don't even look at it. In fact, it has been a few months since I myself did actual work on the site. The #1 thing I did was have the old content reworked/tweaked/updated by a few very gifted people while also adding new content regularly... which is translating to tremendous rank improvements in Google search. The #2 thing I did was have someone create a relevant meme for each post/page on the site and have it submitted to Pinterest. The amount of free traffic you can get from Pinterest is INSANE! Both sources of traffic (Google & Pinterest) continue to grow as I write this. It's not a lot of traffic yet, I know, but considering how small and profitable the niche of the site is, it's pretty good already. The point and take away from this post? Happy Sunday y'all! Spent the day with family. Had a blast with this never ending bundle of energy. At one point I was so tired I tried napping, but all she wanted to do was wrestle. People ask me how the COVID isolation has been going. I say... I've been smoking a lot more cigars than I probably should but am doing all I can to stay sane. Aside from having spent more time with family, saving money from not eating out once or twice a day, 2020 so far will be remembered as the year I smoked a lot of cigars.
