Goooood morning! So I was suppose to run 12 miles today with my running group. But I have to keep it real. I haven't been running during the week for last two weeks and we've been to three holiday parties already! These are excuses to give up and not run at all; especially during the holidays. Running on only 4.5 hours of sleep, I got my butt up at 530am and ran 8 miles. Was it easy? No way! I was by myself (except for the cows), I beat myself up for not being prepared and my knees were hurting along with a Charlie horse in my hamstring. But I KEPT GOING. Why? Everyone has a picture on Santa's lap as a kid. So why not have an adult version?! 😂 I got dropped off at my first 15k race in 38 degree weather in the heart of DC. I was freezing, miserable and alone. But they had this fun photo booth, so after stretching and warming up, I decided why not?! I'm so glad I did and have this little memorandum to remember the race by and my accomplishment! Stepping outside my comfort zone was the best decision I've ever made. It's not always easy, but it's worth it.
