People often ask if the ABLE fresh meals are “low carb” and even worse, ask “can you do no carb”? The answer is no, the meals aren’t no carb because...vegetables. Most of your total carbohydrates coming from fresh fruits and vegetables is completely different from most coming from bread, pasta, and refined grains. It’s ok to not fully understand macros and portion sizes, because that’s what we’re here for! We don’t eliminate food groups because every food group has a purpose. Veggies are healthy but veggies are carbs. We still want the fiber and the nutrients. In the end, we want to help you create a calorie deficit and find a balanced way to eat. Let us take the guess work out of eating healthy! This dish in particular is 50g of carbs. Some of that comes from the 1/3C of brown rice but the rest of it comes primarily from all the veggies we pile in there.
