Vegan custard pastry @ibunbakery hit the spot. I was craving a little dessert. Today I witness #kindness shown towards a veteran 🇺🇲 with multiple signs asking for help on 1-10 and Heights Blvd, to my surprise I watched a man run out of his car to donate to him and in return the veteran thanked him with a flag. Many of you looking at this picture are wondering, what the heck is that? As a #vietkid I grew up on this stuff called #banhcuon it's typically made with ground pork but fortunately we have a #vietnames #restaurant that makes #vegetarian food and these are one of their items 😍 You can find different varieties like it in dim sum also. Banh cuan is a staple of Vietnamese food. They are steamed rice-flour crepes with a luscious mix of tofu and mushrooms and tops them with fried shallots. Served with bean sprouts, shredded lettuce and cilantro/basil It's typically served with fish sauce but I opted out and sub with soy sauce or eat it as is. As a vegan some of your favorite items you grow up on are not vegnaized and when you find it and it's vegan, I savior it! Happy 4th of July! In honor, we decide to make a our version of @comptonvegan vegan jackfruit ribs, vegan Mac/chz, vegan BBQ beans and vegan corn bread. All made from scratch! I always watched people do this and always wanted to try. #swipeleft for more 📸 I saw a video from @eastmeetskitchn and it gave me the confidence to try and I am so happy I did! The noodles were easy but take time (wait time) and the texture was so chewy and soft. We added a #Szechuan style sauce and man, I even impressed myself! Will make these again!
