Eating more fibre really curbs your sweet cravings. Like I have been trying to consciously eat fibre and/or protein first thing in the morning since my everyday diet is more starchy than anything else. So I started consciously eating more protein and fibre and my sweet and caffeine cravings have gone down 👇 down 📉. I am actually functioning perfectly well even without morning coffee.
I ACTUALLY DIDN'T HAVE ANY COFFEE TODAY! It actually slipped my mind! Which is really amazing since before I would be miserable without it, sometimes even after. But the past few days my cravings have slowly reduced till they just went away. It's nice.

I tried ginger lemon shots earlier this day out of curiosity. Like it was just an inch or inch and a half of ginger with half a lemon's juice, half tsp honey and pinch of ground pepper. It's been like 4-6 hours since I drank that and... Is it always this effective?? Like the anti-inflammatory properties are INSANE!! I did not know so much of the "fat" was actually inflammation!! And the muscle soreness has also disappeared like gone! Probably had something to do with the inflammation, but, it worked wonders. Atleast when it comes to inflammation.
P.S. this is not medical advice, just my personal experience. If you have doubts regarding your health it's always better to consult an appropriate expert/medical practitioner.

Adding to the list of random things I didn't know before –
Did everyone else know that garlic like browned in butter and then topped with a bit of olive oil turns sweet (????!!!)?! I didn't know that!
I saw someone fry/brown garlic on insta and I was curious about it so I did that for my pasta and I am honestly very surprised. It tastes quite good.
Like I peeled and fried like whole cloves of garlic though they didn't become soft enough to smoosh easily.

I think people forgot to tell us that being protein deficient affects your periods and/or menstrual cycle. Or as per the search engines specifically plant based protein is very important for your menstrual health.
(I thought it was a quirk of mine that I would get my periods within a few days of consciously eating protein-rich foods especially when I am having a particularly long cycle.)
But, as it turns out—
You need to eat enough protein. It (the search engine) says plant based specifically. As I am vegetarian I particularly go for plant based and whey proteins. So, not sure if non-plant based proteins would work here as well. But it's not a bad idea to add plant-based sources to the diet. (Ofcourse barring allergies and as such)

Epsom salt is surprisingly very useful for cleaning floors. The mop just glided over the stubborn dirt that was stuck to the tiles.
Though I first mopped with a floor cleaner, the stubborn dirt/dust couldn't have been cleaned without atleast a little scrubbing.
But, I just sprinkled some Epsom salt on the dried floor (for clearing bad energy) and mopped over it with plain water and bam! Clean floors! Like any other time the mop would have gotten stuck on the stubborn parts, but it just glided over it (literally!) And the floor looked cleaner than it had in ages!
So, a sprinkle of salt was all I needed. My room was sparkling—glowing even. It hasn't felt this fresh before. I actually like my room now.

I never thought I would say this but... how does one deal with the imposter syndrome?
Like I got praised at work and I fell sick and had pretty much a breakdown the very next day!
Add self-sabotage and low self-esteem to it and this is like a recipe for forever being stuck in one place.
I am such a coward 😭😭😭.
I don't want to stay like this but I am so terrified of being anything else besides this 😭😭
And I used to feel superior because I "healed" my hurts and survived all the hard times so well LOL! Only to come undone on the eve of thriving!
I used to think I have successfully separated my past wounds from myself. Just so I could throw it back in my face by subconsciously creating my identity around being the underdog, the tragic hero, the second lead, the supporting character etc etc etc. and having an ego death (ego=who you think you are) when my identity stepped like an inch beyond that.🥴
Gods I hope I survive this and actually manage to break out of the mould I put myself in.

People! If you have trouble sleeping like I do– avocado smoothie. Just milk, avocado, cocoa, brown sugar and vanilla (I actually used a french vanilla instant coffee). That's it. I have been a little unwell bcoz I had been having some trouble sleeping for a few days (probably due to my periods) and I had an avocado smoothie like I do around the time my periods are over. And I finished my glass of smoothie and within a few minutes I was so sleepy. I slept like a happy baby!
And, I looked up avocado's nutritional values on net and I discovered that it has lots of magnesium and potassium in it which help you get good sleep.
But I think we should ask more knowledgeable people about the portion sizes. (Since, I have doubts regarding it being okay to have a whole avocado at once.)

Me: I am not hyper independent.
Also me: cooling my fever just enough so that I don't faint walking to and from the medical store half a kilometre away to buy meds; because driving is dangerous when you are delirious and can barely string thoughts together.

The realisation that I can colour correct my BB creams, concealers, blushes, etc with the colour correctors is literally revolutionary!
Especially for someone like me whose skin undertone changes as per season.
My makeup products have a neutral-cool undertone in general and I don't use more than a thin layer. So when my skin starts turning warmer in summer I just have to match the warmth of the product to my skin with the yellow and orange colour correctors.
This is the best discovery I have made in a while.

Whoever invented plant based milks I love you.
Tumblr media
They've been a lifesaver for this lactose intolerant person.
P.S. chocolate cereal+oat milk is the best I think 😋😋🤤

Don't ever even flirt with a coworker.
Ever.

Every single guy flirting with you at work has
A girlfriend
Is married (open secret)
Is engaged (wedding in next two months)
Just getting out of a long term relationship

And, all is an open secret.

Paranormal question:
Has anyone ever experienced phantom kisses?Like you genuinely get the feeling of someone's lips on yours. But, you have like never kissed anyone.
Is it a paranormal thing, a psychological thing or a physical thing?
Like whose lips am I feeling on mine and why????
And it's not a one time thing either.

You know I have heard people talk about the grief that comes after giving up on a person you loved, the anger, the denial, the acceptance. But, no one told me about the feeling of empty that comes after you are over all the stages of grief.
It's not like it's hollow, but, it's that when you look at that person, you feel nothing. Just nothing. You try to remember and maybe mimic how you felt but it's just a pretense. You are feeling nothing. And, you don't know if you resent it that you had to lose the way you loved them.
I think that's what the cost of loving the person you shouldn't is. This emptiness you feel later. And, the realisation that you might never be able love someone like that again. With the complete trust and vulnerability almost innocence that is.
I think these days I resent losing the way I loved him than not being able to love him. I worked that one out, so...

Concealers and colour correctors are the best invention ever!
Just a little goes a long way. Having to use less cc creams, tinted moisturizer, foundation or whatever else you are using that day.
I sound like a makeup salesperson but it's true. Concealers are the best 👍!
Like I just dabbed just a little with the tiny precision brush and blended it.
And, it's just 💋. Why did I not buy this before?!

Buying my mom flowers is the best feeling in the world. Why didn't I do it sooner?
I randomly bought her flowers last week because I felt like it and they looked so pretty. And, the feeling of running across the house just so you can see her happy face receiving them... The nicest feeling I felt in a while.
It just clicks. Pink and peach roses are for my mom. Yellow roses are for my dad. It just fits.

Does anyone else get the urge to go on a cleaning rampage when they're on their period?
Like, you want EVERYTHING cleaned!
Your makeup brushes, your sheets, your shelves rearranged and organised, food you hate out of your sight, produce even a little bit spoilt thrown or fixed this instant, nails trimmed and polished, makeup and hair on point, shirts ironed, your monthly budget properly filled and accounted for, etc etc etc.
And, it doesn't matter if you cleaned it or did it all like 4 days ago.
It's either that or completely on the flip-side. You become the queen of procrastination and a slob tbh.
