We need to stop treating girls like all they are is relationships. We need to stop worrying about if a girl's clothes are distracting boys in class and start worrying about why we think it's okay for boys to look at girls like that in the first place.

Etsy Shop Update
Hey, rebels and peoples. So, I'm probably going to be starting an etsy shop within the next couple months. There will be some dystopia related merchandise on there, but a lot of it will be hipster-ish (i.e. embroidered art, paintings, maybe some repurposed stuffs, ect.)
Anyways, if any of you would be interested I've just started an instagram for my art and you can follow along and I'll be posting more updates there @thepeculiar.artist
I don't have any posts up yet but that will change soon!
Thank you all for your amazing support!
Stay rebel!

Agent Delacorte stood outside of the club, the neon lights casting her figure in shadows and colors. She was wearing the symbol of the Merakki clan on the back of her jacket. A disguise, I realized as I watched her approach the bouncer, sliding her arm around his shoulder seductively, whispering something into his ear. He gave a slight nod. And then she was in.
I wished I knew what she told him. Because I needed to get in there. And fast. With this line that wasn't going to happen. I'd be lucky if they let me in before midnight.
Or at all. I barely had enough money for Marci's Medicine, let alone extra to bribe the guard into letting me in. I hadn't thought this plan through at all. I sighed heavily, knowing how this was going to end. Like it usually did. With violence and pleading and a hell of a lot of bruises. I cringed at the thought.
I glanced behind my shoulder and cursed. There were two agents casually watching the club from across the street and their eyes were trained on me. Shit. I glanced to the club once more before disappearing into the crowd, darting down the alley to my right.
I needed Marci's medicine desparately. But I needed to not get caught even more. Because if the agents caught me, there would be nobody to care for Marci.
And I knew where that road would lead. I had let my mind take me down that path far too many times.
Marcinda would die.

The Screeners wandered down the street, slow and methodic as if they were zombies. I mean, they practically were. Too much time living in an augmented reality- too much time hooked up to the neurogrid via I.V. drip. Too much time wearing the face masks had taken its toll on them. Now, they were little more than empty husks of the human beings they had once been. Useless to society. Useless in the work place.
But New Corp. had a purpose for them still, and I shivered at the thought. They wouldn't hurt me. I knew that. But New Corp. could see my face through the cameras on the masks. And if they could see my face then they could track my location. And if my file came up...
I turned and darted back down the street before I could even finish that thought.

I stalked across the street, holding the umbrella over my head more to shield my face from the security cams than to protect me from the rain. I had to get Marcinda's medicine. She'd gone too long without a dose. And if I didn't get her one soon, the absence of the medication in her bloodstream would take its toll. I wasn't going to let that happen.

And they lived up there in their perfect, clean, sterile high rise apartments, laughing and partying as if they'd live forever. They had everything they could possibly ever need.
We... didn't. My little sister was an abomination. Hunted for the strange abilities the radiation left in her DNA. Because that's what happens when you grow up in the sewer. But they didn't care. They would sooner use her for their own sick purposes than try and cure her of the disease that tore her apart every single day. And I hated them for it. Nobody could really blame me for that.

#truth from @theycantkillusall-yet
We bond as humans strongest through shared negative experiences
Yet we avoid them.
We cover up or don’t share negative emotions.
No wonder we all feel disconnected and lonely

The captain stood atop an adjacent building, his red velvet cape billowing in the wind. He gazed down at the citizens that had gathered below him, fear evident on every one of their faces. Behind them stood a wall of soldiers, resolute and ready for their captain's orders. Their red uniforms were almost as dark as blood.
The meer sight of them was enough to make Illa's stomach turn. Images of sterile rooms and crinkled white lab coats and bright yellow pills swirled in her mind. Blood curdling screams and beeping noises from monitors sloshed around inside her head, threatening to tip her sanity overboard. The ominous sound of loafers clicking against linoleum made her breath catch in her throat. Click clack. Click clack. Click clack. And that voice. That perfectly refined voice. How are you today, my dear?
Illa shuddered at the dark scenes that played out in her mind. A hand brushing her shoulder. A kiss on the cheek. A maniac driving a needle deep into her arm, causing her to scream out. A small yelp escaped Illa's lips as these things came rushing back to her all at once. Her heart was pounding so quickly she was sure it was going to explode. Sweat beaded on her forehead and she felt that crackling sensation in her arms. If she didn't stop she was going to lose control. Oh, my dear, don't cry. His voice echoed in her mind again. She shut her eyes tight and clenched her fists, trying to keep the darkness inside. His evil toothy grin flashed in her mind. A couple sparks flew from her fingertips.
"Good afternoon, citizens," the captain began, pulling Illa from her dark thoughts. She was almost grateful. Almost.
"Let this be a lesson to the winged freak and all his followers who seem to think they can just toy with our society and get away with it. Let this be a lesson to all exceptions who think that we will just allow them to roam free, wild and dangerous and unpredictable- walking free amongst the rest of us," the captain paused for a moment, collecting his thoughts. Oh, how the exceptions angered him! Always breaking the rules and sneaking around and toying with Crest.
"We will find you- you abominations from hell! we will smoke you out! Every last one of you! I don't care what it takes!" The captain screeched before gesturing ferociously to his patrol. Without so much as a flicker of hesitation one of the soldiers stepped forward, a detonator in his gloved hand. He pressed the button and within seconds the All-In-One burst into flame. People gasped. A small child began to wail.
Illa hitched in a shaky breath as she watched the place where her and Fax hid the night he saved her burn. He had made her feel safe that night.
Now, for the first time in nearly five years, as she watched the All-In-One burn, she could no longer feel that safety. Her world was crumbling before her eyes. And she was terrified. she didn't know where Fax was, but she knew she needed to find him fast. He was all she had.
