Yesterday, we went to visit our affiliates @6henshaw yesterday and accidentally ran into a community gathering at #Dyckman for @nys_restaurant_association (check out my story) who are helping small Latino businesses during the reopening of phase 2 with outdoor dining. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ As a Bronx Resident, I was honored to just pass and stumble upon this awesomeness in our city & learn it from @jay.the.ace owner of @sapitos.nyc and meet @dannijay16 who’s part of the Manhattan Community Board. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I love the idea of humans re-occupying the road versus cars & that more people are investing into cycles. Humanity is moving forward a day at a time in NYC and I’m proud to share bits and pieces of it. ⁣As @billmaher has said “We’ve gotten better, and that’s all we can do.” ⁣ Ironically, I was being interviewed right outside the first restaurant that opened the doors to my culinary career 10 years ago @papasitonyc 🙏🏼🥰 everything happens for a reason! Strengthen what you have left. All my life I’ve had the bare minimum but extracted the most of it, which is where my creativity birthed from. Less has always been much more to me, and I’m grateful for the pureness it has molded my heart into. Yet, even I too at times can be knocked down when the enemy is testing me. Lately, he’s been trying to convince me that I could have more and what I have isn’t enough, but I remind myself none of my possessions matter, that’s why I don’t care for name brands or trends. All i care for is a a peace of mind, and that’s not cheap. I was on the roof yesterday, talking to God, realizing that having a peace of mind, quietness, a breathable environment sounds like it doesn’t require much but money has been attached to it over the years, making it more difficult to attain. I appreciate what I can see and touch not “own” because we “own” nothing but ourselves. Everything will leave us one day, and at the end all we have left is truly ourselves and the memories we created. We are ungrateful as humans, of our inabilities, the people in our lives, the opportunities we have, the things we have overcome. My biggest weakness is my kindness (you would think that’s a good trait ... NOT in this day and age). I’m constantly trying to show others that there are still good people in this dying world. I wanted to share this video because lately I’ve been really weak spiritually, and I’ve been battling with the enemies lies. Thank you @bishopjakes for this message, I really needed to hear this. Before I begin, I ask all who read this to read it with a warm heart and a smile. Please do not comment “I’m sorry for your loss,” as this isn’t a loss to me but a blessing, in which I celebrate. I celebrate this day as the my initial journey into motherhood. * * I’ve always wanted to share a picture of this day, but I always held back because of other peoples opinions. For others it’s hard to look at or its too personal or private (Just like child birth and breastfeeding 🙄). Yet, this is no different, it’s God’s amazing Grace, speaking about it is exactly what helped me heal and move forward. Its given me the opportunity to be advocate to other women who have had miscarriages and still births. In hindsight, I realized that God’s plan was better than mine because while I thought I was ready to be a mother, looking back I wasn’t. I wasn’t prepared financially, emotionally, mentally, nor was I the person I NOW pray to be as a role model for my children. I’ve learned more about pregnancy + birth (thanks to @empoweredbybirth, now I’m planning my next to be a home birth — This page is awesome btw, please follow them.) I experienced pregnancy up to 5 months, natural labor (while watching Scarface 😂) and endured the pain a woman does during labor. Most importantly, I got to hold my little peanut and feel love, flesh of my flesh. Death brings forth new beginnings and I know God is doing something wonderful with my life & Abram has been that reminder for the past 5 years. This year, his 5th birthday has been a sign of alignment: 8/18/18 ... I’ve been seeing the number 8 since last year and a month ago I learned that the biblical meaning of 8 is my savior’s name: #Jesus. I know Abram’s up in heaven playing with all the other little angels of Mommies that have lost a little one. Lastly, I hope my story provides strength for the moms with a loss, everything has a purpose and it will be revealed in your lifetime, don’t try to understand it. There’s an entire chapter on my experience in my novel: #iFellForNewYorksFinest) Now help me wish my cutie #AbramMoses a Happy Birthday! I love you baby boy! You rock my life! Sometimes when we're on the path of changing our lives for the better, we tend to maintain old habits, such as gossiping. Gossiping leads to many negative factors and because it's become such a norm within our society, we haven't realized the damage it causes in our lives and on the lives of others. Unconsciously, we're gossiping and don't realize it (I'm guilty of having done this myself). Gossiping causes friendships to end, rumors to start and hatred to be spread, enviousness and jealousy builds up, and it leads one to become a part of conflict as a by-product of gossiping. I challenged myself to put an end to gossiping a year ago. I challenge you to do the same by putting two things into practice daily: 1. Be conscious of minding your own business, and 2. Be mindful of what we say to others. Coco + Eve Review

For a few months now I've been seeing Coco & Eve all over my Instagram timeline and since the moment I first saw it, I fell in love! I mean how can you not its sulfate free, phthalate-free, paraben-free, color safe (even though I've never dyed my hair), 100% vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free and it smells like heaven! I wanted to wait a few months until my curls were more defined. FINALLY, after ever so "patiently" waiting, the moment arrived! I ordered Coco & Eve. I was so excited when it arrived, I couldn't wait to try it out for myself. 

I was so anxious to see my results. Originally, my review was going to be the first time use only, but reading is fundamental and the label on the beautiful round container recommends use 2-3 times a week for dry hair. So a week it was and that's how I recorded my review. 

My first night was Sunday night, I washed my hair and applied Coco & Eve. I aired dried it and then locked them in twists for the night in my microfiber towel. Monday morning I woke up a whole new Curl-lina. My curls were so soft, bouncy and THEY SMELLED AMAZING. They didn't have much of the shine as I was hoping to see but I could tell that I should by the end of the week. Possibly, even more, results when I finish the container.

I repeated it again on Wednesday night and Thursday morning I woke up to a surprise. Bright SHINY curls! I was showing off my curls all day in Dumbo, NY.

Friday was supposed to be the third night but I had forgotten to apply the mask on. So on Saturday, I did a short treatment of 10 minutes while I showered. I kid you not, I still had some amazing curls! I LOVE THIS STUFF!
