Today As I awaited my Specialist appointment on follow up results on my brain injuries, covered in Serenity Essential Oil to calm my nerves and racing brain I met with one of the most beautiful earth angels. This Neuro-psych who claimed to be 147 (he was adorably old) was one of the most beautiful oldest souls I've ever met. We went through all my results and as I was disappointed in my recovery's progress he stopped for a minute. Grabbed a book out of his desk and said this: "Look at this book, you're chapter is here." As he flipped through to about a quarter of a book. "Before you went through your chapters like this, very fast, in a society today that demands too much of us. You may have been an amazing top performer in the past, pre-injury but you weren't doing it for you, you were doing it for the recognition of others." "Now you find yourself in a longer, slower, chapter. it may be filled with recovery and pain but the silver lining is you're finally doing something for you and taking care of yourself, again, something so taboo in this day and age. You are blessed with the opportunity to plan, conquer and rest unlike everyone around you whom is in constant conquer mode. This my dear, is a gift, not a curse. You've been given a chance to start a new page and you're lucky to have a team of Practitioners to support you." So after I left the rehab center with a fresh perspective and an understanding of my silver linings in my life I sent grateful energy towards the old soul who blessed me with fresh eyes sight.
