What odd things right? After some time trying to write Zukka fic.

ok anyways theres that common trope i think in both zutara and zukka circles where in a canon divergence au someone discovers zuko working at the teashop but they do not tell anyone else in the gaang that theyre visiting zuko in the teashop to see if hes still sus. anyways thats cute thats fun you know whatever. we love that. personally if doing this au i think it should be aang showing up at the teashop after passing out appa flyers and getting some tea before finding ! gasp ! zuko taking his order. and deciding he needs to accost him at his place of business. and then just keeping that shit a secret forever. in the same nature in that aang kept that blue spirit shit to himself until season 3. like out of anybody i rlly do think aang would just not tell anyone. honestly. aang should always be 5 steps ahead of everyone in zuko trivia. if zuko was a genre of jeopardy question out of anyone in the gaang i simply think aang should win.

Zuko straightened his green work shirt as he walked into his Uncle’s kitchen. It was a Saturday, and there was a festive, holiday spirit about the place. The kitchen was clean and there were little decorations on the fridge and tabletop. Zuko wasn’t feeling it, however, and if he didn’t have a cup of something strong and bitter he would be unable to maintain his cheerful demeanor at the teashop. Azula was leaning against the counter by the kettle, eyeing him with mild, disdainful interest. She held a mug in her hands with the words ‘I’m a monster before my coffee’ printed on the side. “You know, if I didn’t know any better, I might say you actually enjoyed customer service,” she said, taking a sip. “It’s not all bad,” Zuko said, searching the cupboards. He glanced over at Azula, who was affecting disinterest, and his eyes slid down to the black liquid in her cup. “How’d you get that past Uncle?” “I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you,” she said. “And if you’re very good, I might even be persuaded to share.” “And what does my clever and talented sister desire in exchange?” Zuko asked. “It’s perfectly simple, really. Even you could handle it,” she said. “I’ve got a date this afternoon, and we’re stopping by the Jasmine Dragon. You will provide us with your employee discount, as well as a single slice of strawberry cake on the house.” Zuko raised a nonplussed eyebrow at her. “Has Uncle stopped giving you free food and drinks?” he asked. “Don’t ask stupid questions, Zuzu,” Azula huffed. “If he hadn’t, why would I ask for your discount?” “What did you do?” Zuko asked. “It’s all a ridiculous misunderstanding,” she said with a dismissive wave. “And not what matters here. Do we have a deal?” Zuko regarded his sister with suspicion. Their relationship had always been antagonistic to a degree, although things had gotten much better after they had been separated following their parents’ divorce. Azula had gone to live with their mother, while Zuko was taken in by Iroh. Still, they hadn’t ever properly rapproched, and didn’t know much about each other’s lives. Zuko was therefore quite curious about who Azula could possibly be dating, and concerned at what had happened that their Uncle had withdrawn her free drink privileges at his tea shop. “Alright,” he said. “I assume I can’t tell Uncle about this?” (Continued on AO3...)

Day 3 of @zukkaweek​ - Teashop

It took me 2 days to finish this but Ba Sing Se AU is my favourite au and I had to make some quality art :>

Crocverse is VERY GOOD and everyone who doesn't agree is a coward and a fool

Listen, you can hate crocs all you want, but let’s look at what we have for the Crocverse so far: 

Sokka as a chaotic bi who regularly wears Hawaiian shirt + croc combos

Iroh having his own collection of comfy shoes. Ranging from sensible croc loafers to rainbow crocs (which he started wearing to support his nephew) 

Iroh being a caring croc shop seller who wants you to find just the right crocs that will make you happy 

Zuko hating crocs with a passion but putting up with them for Iroh’s sake but “Uncle I am drawing the line at neon pink crocs, do NOT wear those in public”

Jeong Jeong as the resident cryptic antique store owner who is just pissed that the vibe of the strip mall was ruined with a fucking croc store of all things 

Iroh trying to befriend Jeong Jeong anyway because he’s just delighted that he has a business neighbor his age who he can play pai sho with 

Sokka being the local menace that just hangs out in Jeong Jeong’s store all the time and gets yelled at for touching everything all the goddamn time 

Sokka waltzing into Jeong Jeong’s antique store with a pair of brand new neon turquoise crocs and JJ losing his mind because Sokka might be a menace, but he’s his menace and he can’t believe this betrayal 

But it’s okay, because Zuko ends up hanging out in Jeong Jeong’s antique store and complains about crocs all the time, which is just food for JJ’s soul 

Sokka going almost bankrupt over these terrible shoes 

Because he is addicted to them, but what really keeps bringing him back is the cute emo croc shop employee 

Iroh catches onto this and gives Sokka a gift card for the local Olive Garden so he can take Zuko on a date 

Zuko shows up to the date with his hair gelled and in a button down shirt 

Sokka shows up to the date in his fancy Hawaiian shirt and a pair of blue crocs with heart jibbitz

I have to stop watching/reading stuff cuz everytime i get a new hyperfixation i feel this sudden urge to write fanfiction about it and get super sad for not having the time/motivation for it

imagining a modern au but everyone still has bending. aang is a conservationist and runs a nonprofit animal sanctuary, katara is a street hockey player and sells cool jewelry on etsy that she carves using her bending, sokka is an engineer for a plane company, suki is a pro kickboxer. zuko is a very mildly famous author who writes under a fake penname, and works in his uncle's teashop (obviously) alongside toph (who is secretly also basically his manager with the author thing)

zukka meet at the teashop first, sokka comes as a customer and zuko is all flustered when taking his order (although on the outside he just comes across as awkward). toph notices his elevated heartrate, teases him relentlessly and 'forgets' to mention that she knows that guy. she invites zuko along to meet some of her friends, going out for drinks, and neglects to mention that sokka will be there. they all get introduced and have a merry old time, though every time sokka is definitely out of earshot he whisper-curses toph out for this, she just teases him more for his crush in return.

sokka comes to the teashop again the next day and becomes a regular, coming on his lunch break on the days he's at work, and coming to hang out and chat to toph and zuko on some of the days he isnt. he isnt stupid, he notices the other boy acting weird around him (as well as toph smirking and nudging the firebender unsubtly), and he asks him to hangout with him alone a few weeks later.

its wintertime and the snow is beginning to start. the boys go for a walk around a local park, beautifully coated in snow with the sunlight refracting through the icicles. sokka shivers from the cold and, after a moment of hesitation, zuko takes his hand to warm it up using his bending. they talk about all sorts of random stuff, the beautiful area, their interests, stuff going on in their day to day. eventually, they go get some dinner. nothing fancy, just eating at the local mcdonalds, but zuko cant seem to stop smiling.

sokka walks him back to his apartment and the ambiguous date-or-not vibe becomes a bit less ambiguous to zuko, so he asks him to hang out again some time. they exchange numbers and sokka waves a bit as he leaves.

zuko is now going to the weekly meetup with toph's (and now his too) friends. they dont always go out drinking like the first time, a lot of the time they just go back to someone's place to hang out. he sits by sokka a lot of the time now.

agh my brain is stuck on this idea now. i will probably add even more later. any writers please feel more than free, feel encouraged to take literally anything from this, i have too much brainrot of my own to try writing it right now

As he took in the photograph, Sokka sat next to him in silence. His hand was clutching the ring around his neck again in his fist, pressing it close to his mouth as he peered over Zuko’s shoulder to look. Zuko turned to him to compliment the picture and saw a sad fondness lingering in his eyes."

this is a scene i wrote a while ago thats gonna appear in a much later chapter. but yeah. more yue angst for you guys im so sorry.

"Mister Sokka," a little voice wishpered in his ear as he felt tiny pokes on his cheek, "Wake up Mister Sokka."

"Good morning to you too Izumi," Sokka responded wearily as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He looked towards the little girl who was standing on her tippy toes to see over the edge of the bed and poke his face until he rose.

She smiled at him once she realized he was awake.

"Can we have pancakes?" She asked shyly, hiding her mouth just below the edge of the bed as she looked up at him with hopeful eyes.

That look was going to be dangerous for him later on, he could aready tell.

"Sure thing, Izumi, just let me sleep for five more minutes, mkay?" He asked as he shut his eyes again. He was exhausted from last nights events, and the sun had barely risen. How did Zuko do this?"

“I am fine Aang, I don’t have time for a feelings talk right now. Right now I need to find the fucking chief of this damn place.” His words came out harsher than he meant, but he didn’t have the time to dwell on that.

Before Sokka could run off again to continue his search, a hand grabbed his arm. One of Arnook’s advisors, Malina, had started dragging him towards the podium.

“Do you not realize how late you are for this Sokka? The ceremony was supposed to begin with your speech nearly an hour ago-” she hissed at him as she pulled him along through the crowd.

“Malina I’m sorry but I really need to speak with Arnook it is urgent-”

“This damn speech of yours is what’s urgent right now Sokka, you can speak with Arnook later but the guests are getting antsy so you need to give your speech right. Now.”

“But-”

“Now.”

Maline shoved Sokka towards the podium and suddenly all eyes were on him. Every guest in attendance had their focus solely on Sokka."

zuko is a little shit part 2. the amount of sarcasm i have dripping off of heath ledger zuko is glorious. let zuko be a little shit. i havent added to this in months but when i finish some of my other wips i cant wait to get back to this.

i have more wips and drafts saved but none of them have anything juicy or funny or interesting yet because all of them are like less than three pages so far

After they both end up together when Zuko is the fire lord and Sokka is the ambassador of republic city Sokka sometimes calls him Lee to tease him and Zuko just blushes cause it reminds him of all the time they has sex during his work break somewhere at the back of the teashop or in his room upstairs with sokka sneaking in and out and uncle Iroh just convinetly disappearing whenever Sokka comes in. And it almost always does the trick of letting Zuko pounce on him cause just after that they fuck like rabbits till they’re too exhausted to move

Modern highschool au

(I can make a part two)

the gaang, Suki, Azula, Zuko, Ty lee, Mai and Yue, all are in the same highschool in Ba Sing Se,

Sokka is a Junior and Katara's a Sophmore,

Aang and Toph are Freshmen,

Zuko is a Senior,

Azula and Ty lee are Sophmores,

Suki is a Junior, Mai and Yue are Seniors

(Kyoshi warriors are cheerleaders (everyone refers to them as Kyoshi warriors)),

Sokka and Katara still live with their father- Hakoda, and with Bato (2 years after Kya's death Hakoda and Bato started dating and now they're engaged),

Zuko lives with his uncle Iroh, who runs a great teashop- the Jasmine dragon, Zuko works there so he can have money for collage,

(Zuko's has a scar because his father- Ozai after years of abusing him throw hot water onto his face, so he ran away to his uncle),

Azula, still lives with her (and Zuko's) father. Ty lee lives with Azula in her house (she sleeps in Zuko's bedroom (she actually sleeps in Azula's bedroom, she only have her stuff in Zuko's bedroom)) since she ran away from home,

Mai's parents are rich, Mai, Azula and Ty lee are the highschool meangirls,

Toph lives with her parents, she argues with them a lot, but she loves them (they're overprotective because she's blind). Toph also is the first person who has ever stood up to the highschool meangirls (she done that defending Sokka because they were making fun of him),

Aang lives with Monk Gyatso since he's parents died, he has a white dog named Appa and a white lemur named Momo,

Yue is a daughter of a very rich businessman, before she went to a private school but she decided she wanted to be like other kids, and now she's in a public highschool of Ba Sing Se,

Suki lives with her mother, she's a leader of cheerleaders in highschool and she do martial arts,

Sokka comes to Jasmine Dragon everyday after school to get some tea and do his homework, sometimes he comes here with Katara, Aang and Toph,

Zuko has a lot of school so he can't work at the Jasmine Dragon everyday, so he don't see Sokka there often (but he has a little crush on this boy becase his smile is so pretty),

one saturday the gaang is at the Jasmine Dragon, Zuko notices them, and he remembers Toph, she's the one who stood up to his sister in school, which means Zuko and whole gaang are probably in the same highschool,

Zuko's too shy to ask them if it's true,

a day after that, at lunch Zuko notices gaang at a table with leader of Kyoshi warriors, she was sitting next to this boy with a beautiful smile, he assumed they're a couple,

Zuko sat with Azula, Ty lee and Mai because he doesn't have any other friends.

Zuko instead of eating lunch stares at Sokka totally zoomed out, Ty lee notices it, it was obvious that Zuko has a crush on Sokka so she starts to make a plan how to help him,

she knows that Sokka's a Kyoshi warrior, so she decides to one too, so she can have some informations about him (Ty lee also tried to make Azula and Mai join the Kyoshi warriors but they didn't want to),

after Ty lee joins the Kyoshi warriors, she becomes friends with Suki, Suki tells Ty lee that Sokka is single, and after talking with Sokka a few times she knows that he's bi,

one day Ty lee mentions to Sokka about Zuko and that he's single, turns out that Sokka has a crush on Zuko too,

now Ty lee needs to figure out how to get these two dummies to start dating. She came up with an idea to make a party in Azula's house (technically it's her house too), she invates Sokka and the rest of the Kyoshi warriors, Mai, Yue, gaang and Zuko (he didn't want to come at first, but after Ty lee told him that his father would be out of town he changed his mind),

at the beginnig of the party everyone was dancing but then someone brought alcohol,

Aang refused to drink alcohol, Katara drank a little but then stopped and strated dancing with Aang (Katara was visibly drunk),

Azula drank A LOT of vodka and started complimenting Ty lee, everyone was suprised (not because Azula liked Ty lee (everyone knew that already) but because Azula was nice),

Toph drank a little but then she stopped because alcohol was messing with her senses,

Yue and Mai get a little to drunk and they end up making out in the bathroom,

Sokka is freaking out in the living room's corner, because he let Katara get drunk, but then he noticed that Zuko isn't here so he started look for him,

after finding Katara and Aang dancing in the kitchen and Mai and Yue making out in the bathroom he finally found Zuko sitting in his old bedroom holding a mask and staring at it,

Sokka sat next to Zuko:

-"Why aren't you at a party?" -Sokka asked

-"It's too loud there" -Zuko answerd

-"What's that?" -Sokka pointed at the mask

-"This? Oh.. It's the Blue Spirit mask" -said Zuko

-"You're Zuko right? I'm Sokka"

-"How do you know my name?"

-"Ty lee told me about you"

-"How do you know Ty lee?"

-"Well.. I'm a Kyoshi warrior. Just like Ty lee"

-"You're a cheerleader? I thought they were only girls"

-"I'm the only male Kyoshi warrior.. Do you know who's room this is?"

-"It's Ty lee's room"

-"Really? It doesn't look like it's her room"

-"Well.. it used to be mine"

-"Your? But you don't live here"

-"I ran away.. Because my father done that to me" -points at his scar- "Now I live with my uncle"

Sokka was muted, he didn't knew how Zuko got that scar, he thought maybe it was an accidient, but it wasn't, Zuko's father done this to him..

-"And this mask.. It belonged to my mother. She gave it to me before she died" -said Zuko

-"I'm really sorry.. I know how it feels.. my mother, she's dead too" -Sokka noticed that Zuko looks really sad- "I know what would make you feel better.. playing 20 questions!"

they started playing 20 questions, and both realized how many things they have in common,

it was Zuko's turn to ask a question, his last one:

-"C-can I kiss you?"

Sokka was visibly shocked, he didn't expect that question,

-" I.. uhh.. y-yes"

so Zuko kisses Sokka, it was a short kiss, but after the kiss they stare each other in the eyes and Sokka just says:

-"Wow"

-"How did your mom died?" -Zuko asked Sokka

-"What? Ohh.."

and Sokka told him the whole story about his mom,

they were talking until 3 am when both fell asleep still sitting on the floor,

in the morning Suki and Ty lee found Sokka sleeping with his head on Zuko's shoulder

You can use it for you're Zukka fic, but if you do please give me some credit I've spent 5 hours writing this, thank you <3

Would you ever write a Zuko + Jet endgame? I would pick Zukka over them anyday but they’re such an interesting, dynamic couple as well. Btw i love your fics. Your updates brighten my days up soo much. you have a talent for developing characters in such an engaging and realistic way!

First off, thank you so much! I'm so glad you've been liking my fics and that my updates can be a bright spot in your days :)

On a Jetko endgame -- I actually have a few ideas here, so the answer is absolutely yes!

I think that Jet gets an asshole write in a lot of fics (and I definitely gave him that to a degree in These Things Written and These Things Unsaid), but he's a really interesting character. He basically compulsively adopts the people around him, and is so clearly driven to provide a home and stability and safety. I think he's got a lot of kindness in him, a lot of good intentions, a lot of anger, and not a lot of direction or support in his life.

Add in Zuko, who is also angry and misguided in his own way, and desperately alone--I think Jet could be a really good fit for him, both in the way Jet is intentional about creating community and in the way it could be good for Zuko to have his (pretty justifiable) anger validated.

And on the flip side, I think Zuko brings perspective and broader sociopolitical awareness that would temper and guide Jet's impulses, and I think it could be powerful for Jet to be valued for himself rather than for what he can provide others.

The current main Jetko idea is a Jet, Zuko, & Jin AU where they meet through the teashop and get into hijinks together in Ba Sing Se, like working against the Dai Li, freeing Appa, concealing their activities from a well-meaning Iroh, pitting themselves against Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee in their Kyoshi disguises (with the Gaang just continually getting in the way), and undermining Fire Nation rule from the inside after Azula takes the city (if Azula takes the city in this?
