university au! where once, at a party, sukuna was decent enough to scare off a creep who wouldn’t let you free and ever since then you’ve been stuck to him like a glue.

that night he was so bored out of his mind that decided to leave the party early and he couldn’t help but hear your ringing voice over the muffled music from the house.

“i said no! let me go, please!”

sukuna’s steps deteriorated from his car as he glanced back, spotting two figures hidden in a dark corner. you, with your back against the surface as you stared up with terror on your face, and some dude he had no idea about, towering over your figure and trapping you with his arms around you.

cursing under his breath, sukuna shoved his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket and quickly approached, his booming voice cutting through the tense atmosphere.

“back the fuck off.”

the dude managed a somewhat menacing chuckle, “or what?” but his eyes were a little too late to recognise sukuna’s imposing figure as he visibly jolted away from you and stumbled upon his feet in an attempt to escape his wrath.

you let out a relieved sigh and looked at sukuna before suddenly leaping at him with hug; arms eagerly wrapping around his middle as you buried your snotty face in his chest while sukuna’s own features distorted in utter confusion with a sprinkle of pure disgust.

his arms hung beside him awkwardly as he grumbled,“the fuck are you doing?” for a tiny thing like yourself you sure had some strength to your limbs as you crushed him in an unexpectedly warm embrace.

you gazed up at him, the bright beam of your lips completely overshadowing your previously fearful expression, “you’re my hero, sukuna!”

silence took over for a second before he roughly raked his palm over his face, cursing once again as he willed himself to be a little more patient since you were a girl.

“for fuck’s s—” sukuna muttered and, as gently as he could(not really), gripped your shoulders in an attempt to unlatch you from himself. but you persisted on fucking trying to merge with him through whatever this was and hugged him even tighter. “enough. let go, you brat.”

his twitchy disdainful expression probably worked because once you peered up at him your courageous act seemed to deflate and you stepped away with a pout on your jutted bottom lip.

seeing no point in having further interaction, sukuna just shoved his hands into his pockets once again and strode away from you and the ongoing party behind you, unaware of your dreamy eyes following his figure as you took your time building up some more bravery to follow him.

he didn’t stop when he heard rushed steps behind himself, continuing on his journey to get back to his dorm room, but when mop of your hair appeared before his eyes sukuna couldn’t help the irritated sigh that escaped him.

“d’you prefer sweet or sour stuff?”

he ignored your question, noting that you started walking backwards as you tried to get him to look at you. he already knew it was gonna end badly.

“okay, what about cakes? you like em?”

“ohh, maybe you like spicy things!”

“or maybe—” was the last thing to come out of your mouth before sukuna yanked you into himself, preventing you from tripping over some rock you didn’t care to notice, too engrossed in annoying the living shit out of him.

he leaned closer to your face while yanking you by the collar of your jacket like one would with a stray kitten, grabbing in its nape, and raised his brows questioningly, “are you gonna leave me alone?”

you frowned with a petulant bite of your lips, the crease between your brows deepening, and clasped your hands behind your back with an unsure look, “i just wanna know what you like so i can show my gratitude.”

sukuna’s eyes squinted as he quickly scanned up and down your figure, mind assuring him that maybe you could show him your gratitude with something other than a sweet treat, but since the sincere innocence on your face in no way matched his unholy thoughts — sukuna decided that he’d just let go and hope that you’ll eventually get bored of him.

he clicked his tongue at you and let go of you, and you seemed to get the message; you didn’t follow him, didn’t run after him, so sukuna forgot about you the next day.

and the next day you waved at him in the hallway.

sukuna didn’t even spot you at first, he only noticed when one of his teammates pointed at you: excitedly waving your arm with that childishly hopeful shine in your big eyes and a sunny beam that intimidated him to no end. shaking his head in annoyance, sukuna just walked forwards, blindly unaware of the lovesick look in your eyes.

That beautiful woman in the pictures is Y/n Y/l/n, soon to be Y/n Y/l/n-Leclerc, you may not know about her a lot since she prefers to keep a lower profile, but i’m so glad I have the privilege to know her. And now to love her for the rest of our lives.

Y/n you’re the love of my life. I don't know how many times I'll have to tell you how in love with you and how much you mean to me for it to be enough. It’ll never be enough, at least for me. You are my happiness, you are sunshine and midnight rain.

Your head rests on Charles’ shoulders, he scrolls through the comments of your family, friends, loved ones, and Charles’ colleagues. He laughs at the discussion about his future child’s name, his dimples showing perfectly.

“Have you imagined that?” The brown-haired man spoke out of nowhere, turning down to look you in the eyes.

“Imagine what, Charlie?” You reply, needing slight confirmation of what he is referring to.

"Children, a family... you know, the whole future after this happens" the green-eyed continued, pointing at the ring on your finger at the end, making you blush quickly.

“Of course, I have, mon chéri, you?”

"More than once, ange, I want everything with you" He answers sweetly. Charles was so in love with you since he asked you to be his girlfriend, he hadn’t imagined a future without you. He imagined you and him, traveling the world, a beautiful, healthy family, and him and you fulfilling your dreams together. You were all reasons he had to smile on the darkest days.

You, on her side, looked at your fiancé, curious and somewhat captivated by him. Charles’ look made you feel, so in love, you might burst. You felt confident with your decisions, and with your life.

About ten months ago, when Charles and you were at the Italian GP, Charles said he loved you, he said those two words, and you echoed him. You were completely sure you loved him. But when it came to "I'm in love with you" it was a long process, you didn’t play with those words.

I love you meant a promise only you could give, only you could get for him. It meant: I want you to be happy. But I'm in love with you meant that promise would be kept even if it wasn’t with you, it was giving your heart forever. It meant: I want you to be happy, even without me.

It may seem like a ridiculous concept to some people, they are words, but words are the source of expression the majority of humans possess.

They say that actions are worth a thousand words, however, it’s never suggested words are not valuable, or everlasting.

For you, they were everlasting, once you said them there was no going back. Two years later after the ‘i love you’ Charles said to be in love with you. But it was not your time, and Charles didn’t mind waiting for you to be ready.

And when you were ready, it was perfect.

You were at home in Monaco that day. During sunrise, you and Charles made love as if the world was ending; by morning you went hiking, and while being on top of the world, you realized. You realized you didn't care if you ended up heartbroken, you were ready to put the past and future aside and just live in the present.

“Charles,” You said that day, he looked at you so deeply, waiting. “I'm in love with you.”

He kissed you after that, just like he was kissing you now after you said the same thing, the difference being the place, and the fact that you had an engagement ring on your finger.

“Thanks for choosing me.” The Monegasque whisper. He kept kissing you, bringing you closer to him, showing you with actions how much he appreciated your existence.
