Champions Resurrected AU / Prelude 1: Mipha
i was gonna post this on AO3 and I still might if I write more, but here’s a brief written retelling/continuation of the Mipha & Sidon reunion comic (warnings: canon typical violence? just in case)
The crackling noise that shook through Zora’s Domain that morning was mistaken for thunder at first. Zoras chatted amongst themselves, puzzled over lightning in a cloudless sky. Even King Dorephan, who had lived long enough to experience nearly every natural oddity that occurred near the Domain, leaned forward on his throne to peer into the vast blue.
“There, Father! Do you see it?” Sidon, always eager to abandon their discussions on politics, pointed toward the falling beam as it cut through the sky. “A falling star during the day. How rare!”
“I doubt it,” Dorephan rumbled. “I’ve seen many falling stars. I’ve never seen one like that. Something is strange about it.”
“Your Majesty, we are under attack!”
Sidon only winced a little at the sharp voice, before straightening up on instinct. He watched his father shoot his advisor an amused look as he rushed in.
“I doubt that as well, Muzu,” Dorephan chuckled. “If so, our enemy’s aim could certainly use some work!”
“Your Majesty!” Muzu cried, wringing his hands. “Please, consider the possibility at least!”
Sidon tuned out the conversation, walking out to the balcony and watching the dazzling light as it descended. Now that he was really looking, it had a faint blue glow to it that seemed to be dimming as it approached the ground. Its movement was strange, bobbing through the air like it was adjusting its course. A Rito, perhaps?
Sidon certainly hoped not as he watched the light plummet behind the rocks and into the Bank of Wishes. He hadn’t met many, but from what he’d heard, the Rito weren’t particularly keen swimmers. His fins itched as thoughts of warbled squawking and the charging of Lizalfo shock arrows plagued his mind.
“I will go investigate,” Sidon said, loudly enough to cut off whatever tirade Muzu had been in the middle of.
“Sire! Surely you’re joking!” Muzu said. “You cannot be so reckless! Ever since you took on Vah Ruta, you’ve been acting as though you are invincible, insisting you handle things yourself. If you keep acting as such—”
“I am very fast and very capable. I will be back if it is anything too dangerous, I assure you!” Sidon said with a grin. He was already stepping backward towards the edge of the balcony. “You have my word.”
“My Lord!” Muzu cried as Sidon winked, before leaping gracefully off the ledge and into the waters below.
By the time Muzu had made his way to the balcony, the only trace of the prince was a slice of red cutting effortlessly through Ruto Lake.

Mipha groaned, opening her eyes and immediately regretting it as she was buffeted by the fierce wind. As she grasped uselessly at her surroundings, every nerve suddenly sparked to life as she realized she was falling. Fast.
Her right fin was pulled open by a gust and she spun with a yelp, being tossed violently through the air. It reminded her of swimming down a waterfall, the dizzying feeling of the current and gravity pulling you relentlessly toward the sharp rocks below.
“Always keep your eyes forward, my dear Mipha,” her father’s voice echoed, pulling her back to her youth when she’d foolishly closed her eyes and nearly missed the lake below. “The most dangerous thing you can do is let your fear steer you.”
Prying her eyes open, she extended her fins and clumsily straightened herself. She felt a wave of nausea hit as the faded blues of distance gave way to the vibrant greens and purples of the earth below. A long leap off a waterfall, she told herself, that’s all this was.
Mipha bit her lip as she took in the surroundings. Even from this height, she could recognize her home, even if the sight brought her little comfort in her current situation. She was positioned over the Zora River now but could feel the wind knocking her around. Even a few feet off target could spell the end, and Mipha was already more acquainted with death than she ever wished to be.
With a shaky breath, she pulled her arms to her sides and flattened her fins, picking up speed until the world blurred. The wind whistling past her was nearly loud enough to hurt but was soon muddled by the familiar sound of rushing water and bubbling air pockets. She opened her fins quickly to slow the pull downward, relenting only when the pull of gravity faded to the gentle current of the river.
When the bubbles finally cleared, Mipha found herself upsetting close to the rocky bottom of Zora River.
She could still feel her heartbeat everywhere, behind her eyes and at the ends of her fins. She fought the tears pricking her eyes, shaking as the adrenaline slowly filtered from her system.
It was only after she’d allowed herself a moment of reprieve that it clicked.
She had a heartbeat. She could see the small bubbles pushing around her as she moved the water around her. She was here, alive.
“How is this…” Mipha stared at her hands, unmistakably solid, and forgave the tremor in her voice. “What happened?”
A warm light had descended into the depths of Vah Ruta. Mipha had known instantly what it was—could feel the warmth of Hylia even through the coldness of her spirit. She briefly said her goodbyes, before capturing the light in her hands and fading away.
In all honesty, Mipha hadn’t been certain what would come after that. But hurtling toward the ground at high speeds had not been it.
“I should…what should I do?” Mipha waded anxiously back and forth beneath the turbulent current. “Should I return to the Domain? Would that cause some sort of issue? Perhaps I should return to Vah Ruta…”
Despite her fondness for her Divine Beast, Mipha couldn’t suppress the shudder that ran through her at that. Surely after committing one hundred years to her tomb, the Goddesses would forgive her stalling her return a bit.
“I’m not even sure how much time has passed since Link’s victory over Ganon…” Mipha mumbled quietly. “For all I know, thousands of years have passed. Perhaps I’ve been reincarnated? Though I don’t think one usually reincarnates as an adult. Or with their memories, for that matter.” Even passing fish seemed to eye her warily as she fidgeted in place. She groaned.
“Oh, just make up your mind, Mipha!” she scolded quietly, squishing her face. “Right, then I’ll return to the Domain and ask around. Surely someone will be able to fill in the details.”
With that, Mipha propelled herself upwards into the main current, pivoted around the bend, and smashed headlong into something.
It was large and red, but that was all Mipha could make out past the stars in her eyes. The direct hit to the nose had shocked her system, leaving her nearly blind in the water. Dazed, she pushed upwards until water gave way to cool air. She shook her head, which only served to worsen the ringing in her ears.
Thankful at least that her sight returned, Mipha blinked and almost doubted her newly restored vision. A Zora nearly twice her size was treading water in front of her, rubbing his nose and saying something Mipha couldn’t quite make out.
“…a…logies, I must h… let the cur…nt…rry me too quickly. Are you injured? I can help you back to the Domain if you are. Again, I apologize for…” The large Zora trailed off as he looked down, blinking owlishly at Mipha.
He was familiar in a way that pulled deep at Mipha’s soul. She could see the lines of others—parts of her father, her mother, even some of herself—but it was the way his eyes lit up with an almost childlike hope that solidified what her heart already knew.
“Sidon?” She asked.
Sidon’s face split into a blinding grin.
“Sister!” He swam forward, before jolting to a stop. His eyes snapped behind her, and it was as they widened in horror that Mipha heard the charging of a shock arrow being knocked.
Spinning, Mipha reached for her trident and was met with empty air. Frantic, she launched a weak spray of water at the Lizalfo before being yanked away. She heard the arrow loose, then the sickening thunk as it embedded into skin.
She looked up at Sidon, who was hunched over her protectively. He winced, undoubtedly from the arrow lodged in his shoulder, and turned to the Lizalfo with gritted teeth.
“No!” Mipha cried. She pulled Sidon underwater, doing her best to ignore the pained yelp as she tugged on his injured arm to urge him lower.
“If I hadn’t struck the arrow with water and activated the shock before it hit you, your injury would be much more severe. We must dive deep enough that the shock radius won’t hit us if he fires again.”
“It’s just one Lizalfo, Sister!” Sidon said, but she could hear him hiss a little as he swam. “I promise, I’ve handled much worse!”
“There is never just one Lizalfo, Sidon,” She chided. “This should be deep enough. Let me heal you.”
She swam behind him, frowning at the scars that littered his body. “I need to remove the arrow before I can begin. I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright,” Sidon says, his smile strained slightly with pain. “It’s not the first time that this has happened.”
“That is what concerns me,” Mipha said quietly. She yanked the arrow out quickly before pressing her hands to the wound, pooling her energy into her palms. “I have no doubt you have defended our domain bravely, Sidon. I’m so incredibly proud of you. I only wish I could have been there to heal you and protect you from harm.”
“Sister…” Sidon said quietly. He moved to turn, but Mipha tutted at him and he stayed still, tilting his head down to stare at the riverbed below.
“It has undoubtedly been difficult since your…since you failed to return from Vah Ruta,” Sidon said. “But your unending kindness and devotion have been a beacon of hope for our whole kingdom. None more than me. You may not have known it, but there was never a moment you weren’t with me.”
He tilted his head to the side, peering over his shoulder as Mipha worked. “If I may ask, Sister, how is it that you’ve managed to return? Not that I’m ungrateful, I assure you! But…”
“In all honesty, I’m not sure myself,” Mipha said, quietly lifting her hands as the last threads of her healing magic settled into Sidon. “One moment I was aboard Vah Ruta, a spirit, finally content to move on knowing the war was won and our people were safe. Then, the next moment, I’m hurtling toward the ground, several thousand feet in the air. I’m at a loss for explanations.”
Sidon spun around quickly, eyes sparkling. “That glowing comet in the sky, that was you? That is amazing! Extraordinary!” He grabbed her hands, smiling wide. “This must be a gift from the Goddess! Payment for your hard work and sacrifice, no doubt! No one would be more deserving than you!”
At that, Mipha paused. “Do you think…The other Champions, would they have also…?”
“Perhaps so,” Sidon said, scratching his chin. “I can’t say I’ve heard anything, but admittedly I don’t keep very informed on foreign affairs. Perhaps someone else in the Domain has heard something? Or…!”
Sidon snapped to attention, smile glowing impossibly brighter. “I’ll send for Link! Surely he’ll know, as well-traveled and sociable as he is, and I have no doubt he will be thrilled to see you again! Perhaps we could even call the engagement back on!”
Mipha sputtered bubbles at Sidon’a grin. “S-Sidon! There is—was never any engagement! Link and I are friends, th-that’s all!”
Sidon frowned, looking thoughtful. “But I was positive the Zora armor was for him. It looked like a perfect fit!”
“Oh, you found that then?” Mipha said, voice pitching up an octave. “That was, erm, well it was a rash decision really. I thought better of it, hence why he never found out about it! So really, there’s no need to tell him it was even made!”
“Ah, so you didn’t end up confessing anything,” Sidon said, nodding. “Your diary entry was unclear, so I wasn’t sure whether the two of you had made proper arrangements or not. Poor Link remembers very little from that time, unfortunately, and even showing him the passage didn’t seem to help.”
“You…You read my diary?” Mipha mumbled in disbelief. She then swayed a little, realization hitting her. “Link read my diary?!”
“Yes?”
“Did…Did anyone else?”
“Father, Muzu, and a very talented Rito bard named Kass.”
Mipha made a noise like a tea kettle and Sidon looked immediately abashed, glancing away. “Er, I do hope that was alright? Father said you likely wouldn’t have minded, and I wanted so desperately to preserve your legacy.”
“Well, then I have a few words for Father,” Mipha huffed. “Reading a girl’s diary, really! How uncouth.”
She swam past him before turning, holding out a hand for Sidon. It felt a little silly now, offering to guide a Zora so much larger than herself. He must be about her age now and had clearly grown into a capable warrior. But in those eyes, Mipha could only see her young brother, still anxious to speak to others or swim too far from her side.
If Sidon took offense to the gesture, he showed no sign of it as he took her hand tightly. But then he let go, swam beside her, withdrew his trident—Mipha almost thought it was her own, but reconsidered when she noticed how large it was—and set it horizontally behind his back. He tilted his head toward it, but Mipha simply stared in confusion.
“I imagine falling from the sky was a harrowing experience, and I cannot begin to think of how taxing being revived from the dead must be,” Sidon clears his throat, eyes drifting to the side. “Allow me to carry you back. It will be easier to dodge enemies if we travel together, and I assure you I am capable. I am one of the fastest swimmers in the Domain, after all!”
Mipha stared at him a moment more before his action clicked into place. She’d done the same things for him when he was young—using her own trident as a handgrip for a much smaller Sidon as they traversed the waterfalls. Muzu had worried endlessly about it, convinced that Sidon would slip or that his grip would falter and he would go coasting off the side of a cliff. But she’d insisted that she trusted Sidon’s strength and courage, and her father had agreed to allow her to continue.
Now, Sidon swam nervously in front of her, offering his trident to her in the same gesture. She felt her heart swell, seeing that even after all these years, he hadn’t forgotten their time together. She smiled, tears threatening to spill from her eyes again as she dove behind Sidon. He turned to look, smile faltering for a moment before Mipha set a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“Forgive me, Sidon. I was overcome with emotions. I trust you, and thank you for your kindness.” She tightened her hands around the trident, and the feeling of cool Zora steel beneath her hands for the first time in a century sent a chill through her. “I’m ready when you a—re!”
Mipha bit down a yelp as Sidon shot through the water at near-blinding speeds. It took her a moment to adjust, and even the familiar Zora River left her speechless as it whipped by. She now had no doubt her brother was the strongest swimmer she’d ever met—it was as if the water itself was pushing him forward like a jet stream. It was exhilarating, almost like learning to swim all over again, and Mipha couldn’t contain the joyous laughter that pulled its way out of her.
She was here, really here, feeling the water on her scales and the cool metal under her fingers. She could see the fish and plants move as they swam by, could see the trail of bubbles in their wake. When they broke the surface of the water, cutting effortlessly up the falls of the Domain, she gasped, taking in the view.
She was with her beloved brother, in her beloved home, and she was alive.

Nozel: Yes.
Solid: And you two with peasants.
Nebra & Noelle: Yes.
Solid: ... Don't count on me to also choose a witch or a peasant!
Nozel, Nebra & Noelle: That wasn't our goal!
Vanessa, Zora & Asta: That was his first thought?

Revenge of the Bride
Chapter 1 – Quiet with Noises
Tumblr media
A/N I know, Halloween is over, but that doesn't mean that spooky time is as well. November is still spooky season for me and I had the idea for this Ghost Black Clover fic for quite a while now.
And now, the bride isn't Acier... but she had something to do with it, in a way...

♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣
The grandfather clock stroke six times. Like always, it sounded loud, as if it was filled with bells of a mini-cathedral. Which caused Rosette to look up from her Agatha Christie novel and come back to reality for a moment.
Six o’clock. And today was Friday. The only day in the week were the Silvas – and for that matter, herself as well – weren’t having dinner at seven o’clock, but at eight. And Nozel might not be present. Like so often on Fridays.
Rosette might only live with Silvas for six months, but she noticed many habits each of them had. Habits that screamed loneliness, distance and grief somehow. Were they even aware of it?
As if the silent dinners of doom weren’t enough already. Still, Rosette preferred those kinds of dinners than the ones she had with her own family. Somehow… Were those silent dinners better than the ones where her parents and sister gossiped, judged and complained over the same things they never care to change, while she was invisible at the dining table, barely a ghost?
Well, Rosette guessed that her life so far had been kinda fucked off if she came to prefer one kind of bad dinners over another way of kind dinners.
“Still have two hours before that dinner of doom,” she mumbled. But as her eyes fell on the window, something made her frown.
It was darker outside than it should be…
Rosette knew that the days in October were shorter than during the summer. But still, outside it looked like it was already midnight, not six o’clock.
Was it raining? That would explain the unusual darkness… But as Rosette looked out, she couldn’t see one drop of water falling from the sky. A cloudless sky, even. In fact, nothing seemed unusual with anything surrounding the mansion.
Except the darkness…
Was it the glass of the windows? Did the servants forgot to clean it somehow? That would be surprising, given how discreet and diligent they were.
Rosette rubbed a finger against the glass, but nothing was left on the tip. It was clean. Frowning, she now opened the window completely. But nothing changed. It was still unusually dark, yet everything else was normal. The sky of dusk, the lights of the city of Clover down the small hill, the immense parc belonging to the mansion, the forest with the ruins a bit further away…
“I’m I getting crazy? Maybe I shouldn’t have read The Haunting Of Hill House yesterday. Besides, it is spooky season.”
Rosette closed the window. She felt a bit on edge, which was stupid. But to be fair, she lived with the Silvas now, maybe it was normal in this household to feel a bit on edge from time to time?
She still felt a bit like an outsider, after all. Her betrothal with Solid Silva was arranged, which was quite uncommon in the 21st century. But well, they were rich people and rich society was often more conservative than the medieval times.
Sometimes, Rosette wondered if it had been a good idea to move in with her future in-laws until the wedding. But then, she remembered that she wasn’t invisible with the Silvas. While it was quite the strength she had to swim in rich society, it felt great for once to be seen and not overlooked, like she was in her own family.
Of course, it wasn’t the most welcoming, but Rosette had the feeling that she was already more accepted than tolerated by her future in-laws. Not perfect, but she was a pragmatic and what she had now was better than what she had before.
She wasn’t one to put her expectations too high, after all. A life lesson she had learned since she was a little child.
Rosette decided to not dwell on it. She had a book to finish.
But just as she sat back in her armchair, she was now hearing noises. Like footsteps in the mansion.
It couldn’t be Nozel, he was either at the university or at the archives of the city each Friday evening.
It couldn’t be Nebra, every Friday, between five and seven o’clock, she was in her bathroom, getting herself some relaxing beauty treatment, or at least she pretended so.
It couldn’t be Solid, each Friday was the day he spent the evening at the arcane, out of frustration as Rosette suspected.
It couldn’t be Noelle, she was with Mimosa Vermillion every Friday evening until dinner, not to mention that currently they had to work on a school project about classic literature or something.
Could it be one of the servants? Maybe, but their footsteps were normally so discreet that it was difficult to hear them. And weren’t they supposed to be either in the kitchen or in the washroom, like every Friday around this hour?
Rosette wondered sometimes if her observations of the habits within the Silva household were a bit scary.
Still, her curiosity was picked. So, for the second time, she stood up from the comfortable armchair, went to the door of the rose salon and opened it.
It wasn’t one of the servants who walked through the hallway. Neither was it one of Rosette in-laws breaking their Friday customs.
It was Vanessa Enoteca.
Rosette couldn’t say that she didn’t know this woman. She wasn’t a stranger. But not a proper acquaintance either. Vanessa had a tiny shop not far away from the Clover University, Rosette often passed by when she had lectures and lessons to attend. Just a tiny shop, that was mostly a sewing atelier. Selling clothes and stuff like that, repairing them too. Plus a few plants and herbal potions and teas, here and there trinkets about cats.
Some of her classmates called her a witch. An insult, but Rosette had the feeling that Vanessa took as a compliment.
“Oh hello, there, little rose.”
“Good evening, miss Enoteca.”
“Please, darling, you can call me Vanessa.”
“I know.”
But Rosette preferred to be polite still. She wasn’t good at forming friendships and she already had a lot of energy to spend on getting slowly closer with her future husband and future in-laws.
“I haven’t seen you passing by today, sweetheart. Don’t tell me you decided to screw your studies.”
“Not at all. I just didn’t have any lessons today.”
“A pity, you’re one of the nicest people there. I feel a bit lonely these days. Ironic, isn’t it? October isn’t a social month.”
Rosette frowned. Somehow, it didn’t sound like a joke. Or maybe Vanessa was just trying her usual small-talk that didn’t make any sense?
“What are you doing here, miss Enoteca?”
“Oh, the usual. Your handsome future brother-in-law asked me to repair some clothes, rugs… you know, the usual.”
The usual, yes. This went since a few months so far. Vanessa coming to the mansion for some repairs.
It was still strange in more ways than one. Vanessa usually only accepted repair orders at her shop, she never did house visits for this task. And Nozel Silva, cold and distant and let’s face it, rather arrogant on many topics, wouldn’t usually accept the help of a seamstress who wasn’t in the Haute Couture branch.
And yet…
Rosette wondered if the other Silvas knew that Vanessa was still coming, if they even realized it in the first place. Given how distant they could be with each other, except maybe for Nebra and Solid.
This family needs therapy… and I certainly as well.
“Nozel isn’t here right now.”
“I know, but he knows I’m here.”
Does he now? Rosette knew that Vanessa could be quite bold. You didn’t need to know her to notice that. The way she talked to other people, her rather revealing clothes even in October were a huge hint already.
“You know the way, I guess. Good evening, miss Enoteca. Get home safe later on, it is rather dark outside.”
“Aw, thanks sweetie. Care to join me, maybe? I have some fabric samples, maybe I can make a new sweater for you? You really should wear more colors than just grey, it makes you look like a ghost sometimes. A complexion like yours is perfect for contrasts and colors. Don’t you want your fiancé to fuss more over you?”
“No, thank you, but I really like grey.”
It was the perfect color to be invisible. And her betrothal was arranged. But Rosette doubted that Vanessa could understand something like that.
“As you wish, but my offer still stands. Come along to my shop as soon as you change your mind, cutie pie. And wish me luck to find my way back, this house is so huge. Good evening!”
Vanessa waved as she disappeared up the stairs.
Rosette sighed as she closed the door. Her hand went to the pocket of her hoodie, taking the box… were her engagement ring remained.
She didn’t wear it all the time, it wasn’t always practical. Not to mention how expensive it was. Of course it was expensive, the Silvas were one of the three richest family in Clover. But more importantly, it was a family jewelry.
Rosette opened the box to look at her engagement ring.
A blue diamond, 14 carats, in a classic round shape, framed by a few tiny white diamonds which were in the shape of tiny seashells, on a platinum ring. It was truly a work of art… and certainly the most expensive jewelry Rosette ever got to wear so far. And she already came from a rich family.
Solid…
She closed the box with another sigh. It was an arranged betrothal and she was lucky already that she could get along with Solid so far. It certainly helped that they were honest with each other from the start. They were on a good position entering their marriage, compared to so many other married couples within rich society.
But still, she couldn’t help but feel that despite her low expectations and pragmatism, she was somehow missing something.
If Rosette would have looked out of the window in this moment, she would have been surprised how pitch black it suddenly was outside.
♣♣♣
Vanessa waited for him.
She couldn’t tell if it was impatience or longing, though. What they had was quite strange, after all.
Still, she couldn’t just sit here and waiting. So, she took another piece of clothing, took a needle and thread out of her sewing kit, started to sew… Like always when she was in the Silva mansion.
Vanessa didn’t know what she should feel about this place. It was rather huge, more than what it looked like on the outside. Placed upon one of the hills of Clover, within the rich district, it has a fabulous garden, from as much as she could glance at when she was here and certainly looked quite majestic. But it was also next to the forest that hid those old castle ruins.
Could be a good place for a ghost story.
Maybe it was one? Vanessa always got a strange feeling when she came here. But it was probably just because this family was fucked up in many ways. No parents, distant siblings, rich people…
Vanessa liked the youngest quite a lot and the fiancée of the younger brother was really nice. But while Rosette was at least polite and even offered her some smiles, Noelle was just awkward. Adorable, yes, but hiding her issues behind a proud mask. She wasn’t hiding well and Vanessa was just good at reading people like books.
This is also a reason why she didn’t hold the other sister and the younger brother in her heart. Bunch of assholes, really. Okay, Nebra seemed to have some really good fashion sense at least. Well, she was a model, after all. Vanessa had read a bunch of fashion magazines and Nebra Silva was shown quite often in those. The latest one, that swimsuit with the stained glass pattern looked amazing, especially on her.
But this was all positive she could say about that woman. It was easy that they were just assholes, nothing else. Vanessa pitied Noelle who grew with them and Rosette who was engaged to Solid. What did that poor girl even see in him?
All three siblings were easy to read, at least from the surface. But their oldest brother… Vanessa had never met someone she hadn’t been able read. This book was locked and even though after months she had been able to have some glimpses of it, instead of understanding more, she just got more confused.
And somehow, also compassionate.
What she felt towards him was also strange. First, she thought that he was a cold, arrogant jerk. Then he entered her shop because he needed some tea and actually blushed at her flirting. This happened a few times. Then one rainy night, he took shelter in her shop when she was about to close it, apparently running away from some rich people gala. His suit had a hole and she repaired it.
Later, that night happened. A magical night, but she had been so certain to never see him again after that. Yet she was wrong…
Not so long after that night, he asked her if she could come to his home and do some sewing repairs. She said yes. Vanessa didn’t even know why. Usually, she only took repair sewing orders at her shop, she never got to other people’s home to do so and she never actually wanted to go to some rich people.
And still, she said yes.
Was it really just the sewing work, though? Was it curiosity about the other? Was it something else entirely? Vanessa couldn’t tell.
The sewing work was at first just an excuse. And at the beginning, it had been just sex. And amazing sex at that.
But then, it became more… And it scared Vanessa in a way. Okay, maybe she wasn’t scared, but it was a slippery slope that she didn’t want to adventure herself on. Her romantic life was… upsetting so far, she didn’t want to risk whatever she had found.
With Nozel Silva.
So, she continued to sew. It was an old-fashioned nightgown, with some fine lace all over the fabric and long puffy sleeves. It felt comfy under her fingers, that was certain. But Vanessa never quite got the use of nightgowns or pajamas in general. Why wearing clothes to sleep? If anything, underwear was already enough and blankets were supposed to be warm. Honestly, sleeping naked was the best, even in winter.
Still, all the clothes Nozel left for her to repair seemed to mean something to him. He never mentioned anything. Vanessa wondered if it had something to do with the woman on the portrait in the south gallery. A woman who looked exactly like Noelle, but with a high ponytail, who was actually smiling, and who had Nozels eyes. Their mother? Or a relative of sorts?
Vanessa wondered why she was never here.
Just as she finished to repair some lace, the door to the room opened, only to be closed and locked the very next second.
Nozel was here.
“Hello there, handsome.”
Nozel didn’t smile, but there was some relief in his eyes. Vanessa still didn’t understand what it could mean, though.
“You shouldn’t be here.”
“I know… But you would miss me.”
They always said that, but it was just a formality at this point.
Nozel looked tired. Vanessa wondered if it has to do with his university work, his research or just anything going on in his life. What was it again, what he was researching or teaching, old architecture, literature, folklore, ancient civilizations?
Sometimes, she felt guilty that she didn’t ask more about him. That she didn’t show more interest in him. They weren’t in a relationship, but was this an excuse to not know more about him?
Vanessa didn’t know when she started to get curious about him. She just did. She didn’t even dare to ask herself why.
“Has anyone seen you?”
“Honey, please, don’t act like you haven’t engaged me for some work. It’s not like it’s a secret that I come here.”
Well, actually it was. Vanessa was very well aware that only a few people knew she was coming for some sewing. And even so, those people had no idea how often she came. It was just not even a handful of servants, Rosette and sometimes Noelle too. But despite the good excuse that was the sewing job, Nozel still seemed to be worried about anyone finding out. Not quite out of shame as she first thought, but he probably wouldn’t admit that. Maybe he didn’t believe it.
“Rosette saw me, but you don’t have to be worried about her. Even if she has suspicions, she is not one to snitch and to even judge.”
“She is too good for this family…”
“Glad you appreciate her, darling. Would be nice, though, if you could actually show it, maybe she would feel more welcome. She is way too good for your brother, if you ask me. And she doesn’t even try to fit in. She tolerates to lots of you way more than I probably would, not to mention anyone.”
Nozel didn’t answer. Not even to kinda defend his brother. Seriously, why did he had such a hard time to show kindness? He could be kind, in subtle ways, Vanessa always felt it. She was certain that he hated being an asshole and he certainly didn’t use that jerk attitude to gain things for himself, like so many other rich scumbags she came across.
So… why?
Vanessa put the lacy nightgown back on the armchair and walked towards him. She couldn’t deny that she was looking forward to be with him again. It didn’t even need to be always sex, some nights they could have some talks. They didn’t open to each other, but since a few weeks, longer talks were not unusual.
But Vanessa didn’t believe that it was enough.
Was it contradictory or not?
“I admit that I missed you. Have you missed me?” Vanessa asked in a sultry tone, putting her arms behind his neck.
Nozel didn’t answer, just sighed. Coming from him, it meant that he had missed her. That much Vanessa came to understand about him.
Well, despite her teasing flirt, she truly missed him too, despite having seen each other yesterday. Just talking, though.
“It is chilly outside, you shouldn’t wear such revealing clothes.”
“It’s only October, it’s not winter yet, relax. Besides, I have still some extra clothes here.”
His face remained calm, but there was a slight blush on his cheeks. Oh, Vanessa loved to get him all flustered. In a way, it made him even more handsome…
Still, even she would admit that it was strange that she had some clothes at his place, despite not being together. Just occasional nights and not every one of them was even of sensual nature.
But she refused to think about it. Not when those nights with Nozel Silva were the closest to romantic affection she’ll ever get in her life.
“It’s a bit sad that I never saw your room, honey. I mean, this guestroom is great, no doubt about it. But I bet your room would be just as perfect.”
“No, it won’t be.”
The same answer every time, even when it was a night of talking. Vanessa felt a bit hurt that he would never let her in his room. But she wasn’t surprised. After all, this wasn’t the kind of relationship to allow more sweet and innocent intimacy.
Nozel didn’t hesitated for longer, as he kissed her, holding her firmly around her hips. A kiss so much softer, like it shouldn’t be with what they had.
Vanessa refused to complain, though.
Slowly, she led him towards the canopy bed and pulled him with her as they fell on the mattress.
Nozel broke the kiss, just as long as he needed to pull the curtains of the bed close, masking them both from the world outside. Just a bubble, made of affection and secrecy none of them should probably have in the first place.
Outside, in the forest, two golden eyes appeared, glowing in the darkness for a short moment…

Countdown to Christmas
#24
....
Zora and Laura ran into Peter and Thomas’s room. They jumped on Peter’s bed, not taking account of his shins and stomach. He shot up and his eyes widened in pain and then narrowed in anger.
“Merry Christmas, Uncle Peter!”
“What are you gremlins doing?”
“Mommy said you could tell us to tell time.”
“Yeah, it’s time to get out of my room. Go bug Shane.”

the music for the colgera battle is quite delightful (wow i just need to say i like it. goodness) its a shame i couldnt really properly hear it while actually playing on account of having to sit right next to a loud ac but listening to it fully the other day was nice. took me a few weeks but i can appreciate it now - and listen ... im a simple guy, the rito village theme being incorporated into a section of it is just wow :-( ....... big leitmotif fan. walking into zoras domain is going to kill me
#music is the only thing important to me actually.#when i played botw i spent a lot of time dilly dallying as one could say. basically just splorin. and riding my horse around in literal#circles#it took me years to do more than 2 of the divine beasts ... LOL.#anyway. in botw i always did mipha first but as of late noted to myself that when i replay botw sometime in the future im going to head for#vah medoh first .... revalis gale is my best friend#i sort of took that over to totk and after a few days i was like okay im going to rito village im curious#i think im going to have very fond memories of that in the future. i really enjoyed doing all of that :-)#i want to say - totk very much so has had the ability to give me new ''wow'' moments that i had in botw#and gosh .... thinking about how ive played these two games at very different points in my life ... ahhh#in my totk playing i have been very much spacing out the main objective stuff. i did get around to rito village somewhat quickly#like perhaps a few days after i got the game (finished the tutorial area on the first night and just went to towns and explored yadada#for a few days after that#and then i did gerudo town a little while after that#so far i have not ventured to goron city or zoras domain. ive explored a little bit in each of those regions but have not yet gone and#committed. although goron city is next#ohh i did a labyrinth the other day. wicked fucked up man they put half this shit in the sky also randomly The hands were there#scary. no more elaboration#back to music. i learned to play miphas melody on piano a few years back#i really need to get back to piano ... learning to duet kass' theme with my sibling but ive been slacking on my half#hyrule warriors age of calamity was insane purely for hearing a version of miphas theme but for battle#like duude. are you hearing this? dude........#just remembered sidon. dont even get me started .......... sniffle#so crazy when there is music

Zora May: Brandish Weapons!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hohohoo! This serves as a sort of continuation of this…
featuring Kenne, Viri (@kenneduck), and Felu (@pinklocksoflove).
We were trying to figure out how the 2 works meet, and I settled upon "chance encounter at the training grounds". @kenneduck suggested Viri would ask about info on Esis, without ever actually finding the courage to meet with him. I figured Viri could use a little push in the right direction through Kenne.

LINKTOBER DAY 19! East Reservoir Lake
The Zora siblings gets that self sacrificing from somewhere, what can I say.
Anyways, the duo absconded with the crown prince. (Alchemist Yona, you’re going to stop them, right? RIGHT??)
This is a Totk au called Familiar Familiar, and it all started when Zelda didn’t get sent to the shadow realm (and everything fell apart from there). Here’s the masterlist!
