13. What do they do for fun? Do they have a favorite activity or do they like to switch things up?

Their senses of humour are a little bit different, and they enjoy different activities for fun, which made it difficult to find an activity to do together. But one thing that they enjoy doing is that when they're out, in a cafe or a restaurant, they like to come up with a story for the people passing by, in a harmless manner. Describe the people like they were characters in a story. The idea came from Zora essentially being the Cool Masked Guy from his father's stories, which turned into a "anyone could be from a story".

Of course this is harmless fun, and they don't take the characterizations or stories seriously, most often they forget them right after the date. But some "characters" stay to live in their heads, while the person passing by has slipped their minds. It's a form of being inspired.

But overall they like to switch things up, try new different things, while naturally going out to eat or have a cup of coffee is somewhat commonplace, and noting special in a sense. It's the time spent together that counts.

32. Do they ever get into trouble? Is it serious, or are they just mischievous?

Zora is mostly mischievous, and does sometimes get into trouble. Nebra is cheeky, but rarely gets in trouble due to her place in society. But neither would inflict "real" trouble onto the people of Clover. Nebra might be snarky with the nobles, but she does try to upkeep the face of the House Silva, so she abstains from anything that would actually get her in trouble. Whereas Zora could technically get in trouble for harmless things, he usually doesn't because he has managed to work around it.

But their schemes are more on the mischievous side than on the serious side.

42. Do they let each other get away with things that would normally bother them?

Y es. They both can find aspect in each other, which can be aggravating, but they do let them slide, because the things that they dislike, don't outweigh the good things.

They do "nag" about the things and habits to each other a bit, but usually just end up shrugging it off. Because at the end of the day, they love each other.

So, I've seen a lot of these floating around over the years and they all seem to have the same dozen fics on them, so I want to try and highlight some of the lesser known fics in this fandom I love alongside some of the more well-known ones. (Note: I have done my best to avoid reccing more than three/four fics by the same person to make sure plenty of authors make it onto the list, not just the popular ones)

This is not just my tastes, I have asked a lot of other people in this fandom for their own fic recs to compile into this list.

Disclaimer: despite my best attempts to be unbiased with this list, I'm human. There are some amazing fics that I haven't personally read bc they contain my NOTPs or tags I don't like or they just squick me out. This is not a complete list of fics in the fandom you should read. But until Clover City Police Department manage to get hard evidence of their crimes, they're off the hook - at least as far as Police Captain Yami Sukehiro is concerned. Though, this is the first time Magna has actually had to use Plan C.

The Dragon and the Mage by CloversDreams

Rating: T Ships: MagLuck Length: 7k Every few days like clockwork the hotheaded mage showed up and challenged him to a fight. Luck hadn’t turned him down once. No matter how many times he lost, or Luck broke those silly glasses he wore, the guy always declared he’d return. And he did. Luck had started to anticipate his arrival. Their battles were a surprising amount of fun. The mage learned from all their previous scuffles and tried to trip him up, but Luck’s battle instinct was on a level all its own. He wouldn’t lose. It was probably around the six or seventh time that Luck actually greeted the mage with a ‘hello, human’. He was immediately attacked with a fireball and told not to call the guy that. Luck smiled from ear to ear as he easily dodged the flames. He moved lightning fast until he was nose to nose with the mage. He had a wild look in his wide eyes when he asked what he should call the human then. A grin spread across his face when he actually received an answer. Then he sent the guy flying backwards with one punch. This ordeal continued for weeks and Luck hadn’t tired of it yet. Humans were boring. Except for one. Luck rather liked the tenacious fire mage called Magna.

Rating: T Ships: MagLuck Length: 4k Soulmates. The idea was a whisper which traveled along a breeze that stopped every now and again to tell its tale to random passersby. The concept was so obscure these days that it was nearly forgotten to history. Those that did recall never spoke of it. Most brushed it off without a second thought. The idea wasn’t widely recognized since society deemed it ridiculous. And for good reason, too. According to legend, there was only one known way to identify soulmates, which was by a mark that appeared on both of them. It might’ve been reasonable enough if not for the conditions necessary for the mark to appear. This was where things got so ludicrous that no one could bring themselves to accept that the tales were based in truth. According to the whispers upon the wind, soulmarks didn’t activate until the pair fell in love. Ridiculous. Absolute nonsense. Whose brilliant idea was that?

Rating: T Ships: MagLuck Length: 1k The names on their skin may have been the mana’s way of pointing out those who would impact them, but it was up to them to determine how. Magna has thought about things more than he’d like to admit.

Keeping Score (series, ongoing) by solarwitchwrites

Rating: M Ships: YamiFin Length: 92k Even people who've known Yami for less than five minutes usually agree that he's an ass. Those who've known him a bit longer usually tack on, 'sadistic bastard.' If they really know him, they might throw in that he's a decent guy underneath it all, but that's what they always start with. By contrast, Yami is probably the only person who would use those terms to describe Finral. Then again, so far as Yami knows, he's the only one Finral's really shown that side to. Though he's gotten a bit snarkier with the Bulls. It almost makes Yami pity all the girls who only see the playboy routine. The real Finral is a hell of a lot more fun to mess with. (A while back on tumblr I posted a YamiFin headcanon about Finral secretly being a little shit, and this is the fic-child of that headcanon. Basically, the Keeping Score ficverse is a bunch of oneshots wherein Yami and Finral start out as friends who mess with each other as a running joke, and eventually become lovers who mess with each other as a running joke.)

does it compel me? YES! I'm baffled at the near non-existing talk about this ship because they click so well in a way that won't get them acting out of characters which is a very important thing to me when it comes to shipping, here - have a fanart of them!

does it make sense? of course not lol

does it compel me? similar to yami/william, I have no real answer for this, it's one of those ships I can vibe with as an AU, but not in the main story/timeline/endgame, I enjoy the potential crackness and hate and spite with these two, but not the romance, definitely not the romance.

in general, I very rarely vibe with zora ships that pair him with one royal or another noble because I find it very unfair to his character and makes him act really, really out of character.

Fanfiction Writing Asks

11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?

Oh, I bunny-hop like there’s no tomorrow when I’m drafting. I might have fully drafted scenes that will take place 20 chapters from now, while my upcoming chapter is still missing half of its scenes. Heck, a lot of times I jump around within one scene while I’m writing, too. I’ll have an idea of how to end the section so I’ll press “enter” a bunch of times and write the last paragraph when I’m only halfway through, then go back and fill in the middle part. Then in my second draft, I might even switch my paragraphs around, or move a sentence I like into a later paragraph where it will “pack more of a punch”.

20. Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?

My favorite setup is Canon Divergence, which is technically an AU but is usually set in the canon world (unless the divergence involves world-hopping). 

That said, I’m a huge fan of worldbuilding, and it’s often what draws me into a series before I get attached to the characters (e.g. the intricate magic system in Black Clover), so I’d prefer to write fics set in the canon world, at least, or an AU where the magic is slightly different but still there. I guess the best answer I can give is “I like to write canon AUs the most” :P

41. Who’s your favorite character you’ve written?

So I can never pick just one favorite character in a series, but I do have certain “favorites” to write for (in terms of POV). In general, I’d say I prefer to write from POVs of characters who have a lot of attitude, whether that’s internal or external. 

The most recent examples I have are Mereoleona with her brash temper, or Yuno with his sarcasm (both internally and externally XD). Yami is turning out pretty delightful too, because of how he makes fun of everything and breaks the fourth wall. Charlotte and Noelle POVs have also been “easy” for me to adapt to because they’re very no-nonsense and judgy (for better or worse) so I just channel my inner Hermione Granger. 

And any character who’s notably passionate—Cyrus and his all-encompassing green thumb made me love him so much more when I wrote from his POV, even if I had ten Google tabs open about random plants. So I’ll probably enjoy writing Fuegoleon’s POV as well when I get there. In comparison, I have a harder time writing from the minds of characters who are very “uncertain” or repressed in terms of their thoughts and decisions, or those who aren't as notably opinionated. William Vangeance's POV will be a hell of a challenge! 

69. What are your favorite fics at the moment?

Again, I have a hard time picking favorites (exhibit 1, the previous response where I picked like 8 “favorites”, LOL). It’s been a while since I’ve binged fics, but I have a feeling that your “The Scent of Lavender” and “Revenge of the Bride” will be right up on my list! Also FFAC, the Zobra collab from @f-oighear and @kalolasfantasyworld (yes, I’m referring to it by the acronym because it sounds like “fuck”). And I read a oneshot from @wildflowerwoodsworld which tickled my fancy recently, so I have a feeling I’ll enjoy their other works, too.

I’ll keep my to-read list a secret. so other authors on my radar can have a nice surprise when I get around to their fics and unleash myself in their comments sections! And I’m sure countless things from my to-read list will end up as my favorite fics, too :)

74. Do you have a fic you wish got a bit more love?

I’ll be real, no matter how much love my fics already got, I would ALWAYS love (ha!) for them to get more love. And I tend to veer toward niche topics (and ships), so I never know exactly what the reception will be like, and the surprise is part of the fun of posting by this point, haha. Maybe it’s because what I want to read for “bigger” ships (ships with more fics) have already been written, so I’m content to read what others wrote, and my ideas are filling a “void” in my imagination that only my own chaos can fulfill! 

All that is to say, I’m very “glass half full” about any interaction (I happy-screech over any love I get!), while I’d also love for anything I write to get more love <3 But since my heart is fully invested in Scarlet Cross (a Black Clover Canon Divergence and Gender Changes AU!) at the moment, I’ll choose that as my final answer!

Hi everyone! We're finally officially announcing our new fic with @f-oighear Formula for a Crush.

It's Zora x Nebra fan fiction in a modern AU in which they are Formula 1 drivers! (it escalated)

Summary Silver Eagles Motorsports have been facing tough times in the last few Formula 1 seasons. Can lead driver Nebra Silva turn it around for her team, or will it continue its downward spiral? Former backmarker team Black Bulls Racing are on the rise, with lead driver Zora Ideale projected to break into the midfield.  When these two drivers set identical lap times in the first qualifying session of the season, an unexpected rivalry sparks between them. Where will it take them? You don’t have to watch Formula one or understand racing to read this.

Yes, the Silva were productive... I am biased, obviously^^'

Nymphea and Valentina are twins, with Nymphea being the older one by three minutes. She is more like Nozel personality wise, while Valentina took more after Vanessa. They still got from the other parent, though.

It is a coincidence that they have the same initials as their parents... Nymphea and Valentina were also born on Valentine's Day^^'

Lavinia is the second child of Nozel and Vanessa, also very shy. She doesn't want to be a Magic Knight, finding more happiness in music and songs.

Cassandra was a surprise child, three years after Lavinia, but loved nonetheless. She is the wildest out of her sisters, if there is harshness in the Silva genpool, she got all of it. Cassandra also calls Yami uncle Dumpy.

Diego, Odette, Nebel and Zinnia are quadruplets. Which was a surprised to everyone. Diego and Zinnia are true wild pranksters, mini-versions of their parents, while Odette and Nebel are more calm, almost a miracle given who Nebra and Zora are.

Mathilda came many years later, as a surprise child. Nebra thought that she was done after giving birth to four babies at once, but she was very relieved that it was only one this time. Mathildas birth was also pretty fast, roughly twenty minutes.

The quadruplets are very protective of their baby sister, but baby Mathilda is going to be more a problem child than Diego, Zinnia and her parents together^^'

Eis is the first born of Solid and Rosette. He almost gave his parents and the midwives a scare because he didn't cried immediately when he was born.

Nanthilde is his sister, born four years later. Since she learned how to read, she had a soft spot for riddles and mysteries.

Both Eis and Nanthilde are very kind, like their mother. As much as their father was a brat in his youth, as much they are well-behaved. Solid is actually relieved they don't come too much after him personality wise.

Loreleï is the only daughter of Asta and Noelle. She was born a few days after Eis, which made them best friends since they were babies. Like her cousin Lavinia, she also doesn't want to become a Magic Knight, despite having her mother's amount of magic power.

Her brothers are much younger than her. Airgid is as wild as Asta with Noelles pride, a bit of a brat, but with a heart of of gold.

Nemo is the youngest, wild like his brother but kinder.

Fun fact, both Noelle and Asta were awful at giving names, even for their own children. Nozessa, Zobra and Sosette had to help them on that topic... which wasn't an easy task, but funny.

Nymphea has long silver hair like her father's, wavy like her mother's and Vanessas amethyst purple eyes, she has Silver magic. Valentina has the same eyes as her twin, but long straight hair like her grandmother, in a paler shade of Vanessas rosewood color, her magic is Tapestry. Lavinia has her mother's hair color, but the silky and thick structure of her father's (she wears them in two braids), she also has Nozels metallic lilac eyes, she got Vanessas Thread magic. Cassandra has silver hair, but very wild, a bit of mix of her parents and lavender purple eyes, her magic is Swords... given her wildness, it can be a stress factor for Nozel, one only Vanessa can calm him from.

Diego has his father strong red hair and also his deep blue eyes, looking like a mini-Zora, he has Spark magic. Odette has her mother's silver hair color, very wavy almost curly and like Diego, the eyes of her father, her magic is Cloud. Nebel's hair got a color mixed from his parents, with Nebra's gene a bit stronger, a pale pink, long and straight, his eyes are also a mix of his parents, a strong purple and like his name suggests, he got his mother's Mist magic. Zinnia has also pink hair, but unlike Nebel, her's are a stronger pink and are Wilde like Nebras, she also got her mother's magenta eyes, add to all of this Smoke magic. Mathilda has her father's red hair, pretty wild as well, and her mother's magenta eyes (a heavy contrast) and she got Water magic.

Eis has his mother's straight white blonde hair, which he wears short, his father blue eyes and like his name suggests, his magic is Ice. Nanthilde has curly hair, silver like Solid and Rosettes pale grey eyes (which got her the nickname Most Silver Silva), she got her mother's glass magic.

All of Astelle's children have water-based affinities (personal headcanon that Astas condition is not hereditary). Loreleï has her mother's straight long silver hair (unlike Noelle, she has her hair down most of the time) and her father's bright green eyes, her magic is Snow. Airgid has Astas wild ash blonde hair but wears it shoulder length and Noelles magenta eyes, he has Water magic like his mother. Nemo has silver hair but the same hairstyle like his father and also his mother's magenta eyes, his magic is Mist.
