zombie song list ?? :O
10 Fave Zombie Songs 🦴
Thank you for requesting this one! I'm revenantkin (similar to zombie) so I've been thinking about this one for ages. I think a lot of the songs from my Grim Reaper Songlist would also be fitting here due to the common themes! There are definitely a couple I wished I'd saved for here. I'm not sure what your taste in music is so I've just gone through my Spotify as usual! All song names link to Spotify.
10. Nothing Matters by The Last Dinner Party. Actually not a huge fan of The Last Dinner Party but I like this song specifically. Even zombies deserve to get freaky! No but the song's themes of nihilism fit perfectly with the undead themes of immortality. The lyrics about the partners' isolation from others can read very kin4kin and also add to that living vs the dead vibe. If you like this, you might also like Lovers In The Dark by Sophie Morelli. Not zombiekin vibes but a worthwhile mention.
9. Am I Awake? by They Might Be Giants. The themes of dissociation, superstition, surrealism and a general detachment from humanity are a goldmine for any undeadkin playlist. I love They Might Be Giants, there really is no band quite like them.
8. Bones by Imagine Dragons. I'm an unironic Imagine Dragons fan unfortunately.... This is genuinely one of my faves and it just fits the more lively side of a zombiekin songlist. A lot of the picks later on are quite serious in tone so I thought I'd shake it up. My actual favourite Imagine Dragons song is Lonely.
7. I Cannot Sleep At Night by K.I.D. One of the less explicitly zombie related songs, but I feel like insomnia & undeadkins/monsterkins go hand-in-hand thematically. It's indie pop-rock (more pop I think), a little tongue-in-cheek and all too relatable. If you like this I also recommend Great! Big! Party! by eyeamki which actually also has plenty of undeadkin vibes!
6. Piledriver Waltz by Arctic Monkeys. I guess this is focusing more on the kin than the zombie part of zombiekin. It's one I associate with a lot of my personal experiences with several kintypes and how they relate to my life. It's got a lot of the themes of monotony and misery associated with undeadkin, but also the absurdism linked with the supernatural as a whole. It has got a warm place in my heart.
5a. Maneater by Hall & Oates. Oh come on, it's a good joke!
5b. Doomsday Blue by Bambi Thug. Definitely have to put a scream warning on this one! This was my favourite song from Eurovision this year and it's an absolute blessing to be able to put it on this playlist. Bambi is such an incredibly talented vocalist and I also love their song Egregore!
4. Ain't No Grave by Johnny Cash. I'm a huge dark country & country rock fan so another Cash song was inevitable! This is straight off of my revenantkin playlist. If you like this, I also recommend Dead Man Walking by WAR*HALL. I would've listed that as a separate song on here but I already put it on a different songlist.
3. Eyes Without A Face by Billy Idol. I found this from a tiktok comment saying it was a great mental breakdown song and honestly I've found that pretty fitting so far. I'm a fan of Billy Idol, though more of a casual listener. On the zombiekin note, I could definitely see an interpretation of the lyrics relating to the uncanny valley affect and lifelessness in a person.
2. The Angry River by Father John Misty, The Hat & S.I.Istwa. This is the epitome of human horrors & sins meeting the wrath of nature. It was made for HBO's crime show 'True Detective' so it has all the morbid themes to earn its place on a zombiekin playlist. It's sinister but softly spoken. I'd try and convey a genre to you but the best I've got is Johnny Cash meets Lana Del Rey and that means nothing. If you do like this, I can fully recommend the rest of Father John Misty's work!
1. Dead Man's Bones by Dead Man's Bones. Another Dead Man's Bones song I know, I know - but this album helped form my revenant kintype! This song in particular is macabre but comedic! I'd also like to add to this list My Body's A Zombie For You which is a dark love song. The choir is soo amazing on this one. Perfect for an undead slow-dance! Honestly I recommend the whole album for undeadkins, there's at least 2 more Dead Man's Bones songs I want to add on there already... I wanted to add Creep by Radiohead, I really did, but it felt immoral (/j). Hope you guys liked this! Feel free to make your own additions in the notes and send suggestions.

Top 10 Fave Ghost Songs👻
That would be the kintype, not the band! Though I do love the band... Anyway, I hope y'all enjoy this one! Feel free to make your own additions in the notes or my ask box (anon enabled) and let me know if you find something you like. Song names link to Spotify.
10. House of the Rising Sun by alt-J. The original is not a particularly ghostly song but I'm confident this cover matches the vibe of everything else on the playlist.
9. Heathens by Blondfire. I definitely prefer the Twenty One Pilots version of this song but this cover is absolutely the most fitting for a ghostkin playlist.
8. April to Death by Flower Face. I'm honestly apprehensive to summarise this one because I know I won't convey the nuances of the lyrics. In short it's about being deeply in love with someone who'll absolutely be the death of you. It's a song I'll recommend regardless of theme but the acoustic guitar and Flower Face's ethereal vocals create that sense of detachment familiar with most ghostkin content.
7. song for my lost ghost friends by spellcasting. I hesitated putting this one in at first but I think it's just such a calming and sweet instrumental piece. It has the same heart as indie game soundtracks - a lot of spellcasting's work does!
6. Derealization by Bambi Baker. This song was brought to me through a response to my last ask game from a ghostkin. This song perfectly represents that boundary between the living & the dead. A lot of undeadkins (including myself) and kins as a whole struggle with dissociation & related conditions so the mental health topics in this one may also strike a chord with you.
5. My Name by Charlie Winston. This isn't necessarily the most fitting for a ghost playlist but it's a real all-time favourite of mine. I would consider it fitting through the death & biblical motifs. It's a grand theatrical number & makes me think of a Disney villain! I actually found it through a Halloween fan animatic.
4. Nothing Matters When We're Dancing by The Magnetic Fields. This is such a warm and cosy post-apocalypse vibe - if that exists. The world is crashing down around us and we're destined for death but we're going to have one last dance.
3. When I'm Small by Phantogram. It fits that otherworldly sound I've been threading throughout this. The lyrics themselves (in my opinion) reference themes of grief and being stuck between the living and the dead. It's sort of a dreamy electronic pop song... in all honesty I'm bad at labelling genres. Either way, I love this one.
2. Sour Switchblade by Elita. I found this song recommended to me off of listening to Grimes, if that tells you anything about the genre. I can't quite describe to you why this is a ghost song but it has the right liminal feeling and dark grungy aesthetic to it.
1. Dance Macabre by Ghost. A ghostkin song list without the band ghost? Never! I also like to include a rock or metal selection on all of these so... here ya go! A bit of a metal, ghost love ballad.

Tips for Vampirekins? BECAUSE GENUINELY I JUST FOUND OUT I AM ONE TODAY considering theres been signs for years...
So any advice and tips is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. 😭
SQUEALS OMG WELCOME TO THE COMMUNITY!! It means so much you came to me for help 💜
I'm not sure if this is your first kintype so I'll add my general kin tips as well as vamp specific stuff.
Ways To Connect With Your Kintype:
Create a Spotify Playlist: Doesn't have to be on-theme, can always just be your fave songs labelled under your kintype - they're both part of your identity! Vampirism is heavily linked to alternative music & subcultures.
Create a Moodboard: This is easy enough to do in Canva or most mobile collaging apps! I recommend using pinterest to find your images. This is one of my favourite ideas because you can make a 3x3 square moodboard & add it as your spotify playlist cover!
Design Your Own Kin Flag: Kin pride flags are very popular on tumblr. There's probably an already existing one for your kintype, but a custom kin flag has a special personal connection & the colours can have relevance to you!
Make a Kinsona: A Kinsona is like a fursona but for your kintype! It's an original character with the species of your kin. If you're into roleplay, that can be a great way to foster a connection. If you're part of the voidpunk community, you can also make a voidsona!
Support or Donate to Animal Sanctuaries: Sort of in the title for this one. This is usually a tip for therians & similar but I think bat sanctuaries would be relevant to vampirekin. Support can just look like following them online! It gives them reach & you get to see cute animals.
Vampirekin Tips:
Raw Meat & Blood Diet: Obviously human blood and raw meat isn't a viable option here! @/forests-creatures created a good list of alternatives: Beef jerky, rare steaks, safe raw salmon & dried fruits. For sweet options, I'd say the red tongue-staining lollipops could work, as well as pink or red chocolate & red popping candy. You can also add red food colouring to existing food. Please research that what you're eating is safe beforehand! Tumblr is not a reliable resource. I took this list from my zombiekin tips - it's proving pretty good for most monsterkins!
Wear Sunglasses & Sunhats or Gloves & Scarves: You're a vampire! You can't be going out in the sun! Incorporating day-to-day human protection against the weather is a good way to stay safe. There are some really cool tinted and bat shaped sunglasses out there if you know where to look.
Make a Necklace of Your Home Soil: In old vampire legends, if a vampire went abroad or travelled long distances they would need to bring some of their home soil with them. Online you can buy fairly afforable vial necklaces! Go to your garden or local park & scoop a little dirt in.
Gear: The obvious gear for vampires is of course fake fangs - these should be a little easier to find now we're into spooky season. However, I've also seen biting fidget/sensory toys (often in the form of charms or necklaces) be recommended!
Spend Time Outside @ Night: It's definitely not safe or recommended to go walking around alone at night, however there are alternatives! You can always sit in your garden or do what I do (as a werewolfkin) and sit near your window to moonbathe. Taking friends or family stargazing is also great fun! There are apps you can get that will locate the constellations around you.
Hopefully a couple of these were helpful!! ❤️

Im not good with asks but please may we have some zombie kin help? I've just been struggling with it grrrr , thank you . -📼
Sorry for the delayed response!
This is my first time doing kin tips so it might be a little hit-or-miss but see if any of these are helpful! I'm assuming this is in the context of ways to combat dysphoria/incorporate your kintype more into your daily life.
Raw Meat Diet: Obviously human flesh and raw meat isn't a viable option here unfortunately. @/forests-creatures created a good list of alternatives: Beef jerky, rare steaks, safe raw salmon & dried fruits. For sweet options, I'd say the red tongue-staining lollipops could work, as well as pink or red chocolate & red popping candy. Please research that what you're eating is safe beforehand! Tumblr is not a reliable resource.
Sunglasses & Sunhats: This tip was inspired by a similar vampires list! I'm not sure if your specific zombie kintype has a sensitivity to sunlight or is associated with the night but if so, incorporating sunglasses or tinted glasses into your day-to-day wardrobe might be an option! Sunhats don't blend in as well in the winter but there are rain & sun hats such as Tilley hats and other alternatives which you could use instead.
SFX Makeup: I used to do a lot of this a few years back! I absolutely encourage you to learn special effects makeup to create wounds or even just look a little more corpse-like. This is definitely not for the day-to-day but it's a fun hobby if you're okay getting a little messy! It can also lead into a potential career path. You can do some pretty effective stuff with some fakeblood, toilet roll, glue & foundation so it doesn't always have to be pricey. It's almost halloween so it should be the best time of year to gather supplies!
Apocalyptic Wardrobe: Ripped jeans are your friend!! I know not everyone loves skinny jeans (I certainly don't) so don't be afraid to find an old/cheap pair of cargos or wide leg trousers and make your own tears with some scissors. I'd recommend arm/leg warmers & fingerless gloves, which shouldn't look out of place now we're coming into autumn. Handkerchiefs can also look a lot like bandages. If you like to present more femininely, then messy ribbons & colourful braids in your hair can give the desired vibe.
Try Meditation: Zombies are sort of known for their head-empty, distant feeling from being undead so a healthy way of manifesting that could be through meditating! It's definitely a challenging skill to build but following a youtube guided meditation is a good place to start. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there were themed ones! (Maybe that's a new business idea for me... horror meditation...)
Go on a walk/hike: This is a common kin tip via the idea of connecting with nature. However, I think it works especially for zombiekin because you can recreate that feeling of solitude from the apocalypse.
Onto the more generic advice! I always recommend making a moodboard for your kin, which you can then use as the cover for a kin spotify playlist. Watching movies of your kintyoe is a common recommendation. In this instance I'd say include other apocalypse films/tv too!
A generic but less common tip is (if it's your sort of thing) make an oc/kinsona for your kintype and play as them in a game or roleplay as them online.
I hope a couple of those ideas were helpful! Let me know if you try any. Also thank you for your other culture-is submission, I'll add it to the queue!
If I have completely misunderstood your ask please send another one and I'll see how I can help!

shadowkin tips/help with themes of feralness, anger, disgust, and pure hatred for humanity? I would also help reccomending with intrusive thoughts if you’d like!
Hey!! This was a bit of a tough one so sorry if it's not quite what you were thinking!!
Create A Dark Wardrobe: Black, dark blues & purples and maybe browns will definitely match your (assumed) shadowkin appearance. If you like the idea but want a splash of colour you could mix in rainbow accessories (they'll pair well with black) or look into fashion subcultures such as pastel goth. I recommended on my zombiekin tips that you could use sunglasses if your kintype is sensitive to light and I think that could be relevant to you as well!
Join Alternative Subcultures: Not quite the hatred for humanity but along the same theme. Alternative subcultures are a good place to find like-minded people, often those more side-lined by society. You're likely already familiar with the term given you're on tumblr but I've got to recommend the voidpunk community! They're all about embracing being nonhuman and/or experiencing dehumanisation and have a huge focus on identity & creativity. They have a similar idea to fursonas, called voidsonas. Also, if you want to easily browse subcultures, I recommend the aesthetics wiki fandom as a quick jumping off point!
Get Involved In Activism: This was my first thought given the hatred for humanity themes. Right humanity's wrongs! I think it could be a positive way to channel your disdain & there's plenty of opportunities to help out. This doesn't have to be protests, you could always volunteer at your local charity store or help a relative.
Shadowkin Themed Foods: This was a bit of a challenge so the list is quite mismatched but something is better than nothing! You could make a meal using black spaghetti (made using squid ink). There are also purple carrots & potatoes though those might be harder to come across! For sweet options there's liquorice, blackberry & raspberry jellies (a personal favourite)(they're sweets, not actual jellies!), and cola candy sticks, lollies etc.
Spend Time In The Dark: It's sort of in the title. Don't give yourself eyestrain but you could always listen to music/podcasts, meditate or stargaze in the dark. I often lay in the dark with my curtains open to bathe in the moonlight as I find it calming & it helps me to sleep!
Collect Crystals: This isn't a particularly shadowkin hobby but it made me think about crystals such as obsidian, amethyst etc that might suit your kintype. Collecting these or getting jewellery of them might be of interest!
(DIY) Gear: Obviously I don't have all the ins and outs of your kintype but you might be interested in this paper claw tutorial (youtube link). Horns can be made using tinfoil & masking tape and then painted over! I don't know how to DIY fangs but they can be found quite easily this time of year, same as coloured contacts (glow in the dark contacts might be of interest to a shadowkin!).
My general tip to all kins is to try and create stuff for your kintype. It doesn't have to be artwork; You could create a moodboard which can then be the cover for your kin spotify playlist! Roleplaying as an oc or kinsona can also help you to connect to your species.
Unfortunately I'm not really qualified to give mental health advice. I would check trusted resources such as Healthline, WebMD & the NHS. Most sources I quickly flicked through say that just letting it happen & ignoring them is the best method. There are 2 pieces of 'info' I have though that might be of help! The first is from my own experience. When I was younger, I would often imagine the intrusive thought written down on a piece of paper in my mind. I would then mentally light that piece of paper on fire, therefore destroying the thought and all the bad vibes that came with it! My other snippet is something I read online a couple years back. It's the idea that your first thought is intrusive/what you've been conditioned to believe and your second/correcting thought it what you actually think/feel. This is a good mentally to avoid feeling guilty for thoughts you really can't help and aren't at all responsible for. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help here but know the thoughts do not reflect who you actually are and they're a perfectly normal thing to suffer from💜 Sorry this was a little late and lengthy! I hope some of it was somewhat useful. Take care of yourself!
