Here is the downloadable content’s story synopsis:

Story

Mysteriously disappearing children. Rumors of evil spirits in Yoshiwara. A strange voice calling out to Miyamoto Iori. A suddenly attacking bird monster. In the midst of all these strange incidents, Yui Shousetsu appears in the form of a child and declares that if nothing is done, Edo will be destroyed. With the Spirit Font in turmoil, aspirants of the Waxing Moon join together to face a new anomaly. Among them is a newly arrived Servant, an unrivaled spear-wielder, Rogue Rider Zhao Yun. “Feel the sting of Zhao Zilong’s spear!”

How to Play

In order to play the downloadable content “Record’s Fragment: Bailong and the Crimson Demon,” you need to play the base game until reaching the point to talk to the boss in “Seek the Heroes That Survive” (Chapter 3). Once you are able to move freely on the Edo Map, please select “Record’s Fragment: Bailong and the Crimson Demon” on the map to begin playing.

Do you think Xiahou Ba made meaningful contributions to Shu's military? How about to Wei's (before his defection)? Is he worthy of note, or is he another guy like Zhao Zilong who is prominent in fiction but didn't really accomplish anything?

Zhao Yun accomplished plenty. Some of his deeds have been heavily exaggerated in the retelling, and some people credit him with achievements that come from sources I do not consider reliable, but he still did plenty. Anyway . . .

Xiahou Ba served competently enough in Wei. He was particularly distinguished during the Ziwu campaign (230), and battles against Jiang Wei and the Qiang in 247 and 248 (at Weichi and Tazhong). He was well liked by his soldiers and also a close ally of the Rong people. It's harder to say exactly what he did in Shu, since that part of his life is very under-documented. Jiang Wei attacked the north five times after Xiahou Ba defected (at Mount Qu in 249, Xiping in 250, Nan'an in 253, Xiangwu in 254, and Didao in 255). Xiahou Ba was definitely present on that final campaign and it would be strange if he was not involved in the previous four. What exactly he contributed is impossible to determine.
