Yes, Virginia, There Was a Time Variance Authority (TVA)
Variants really do exist.
Sunday August 25, 2024 11:21 a.m.
Dear Journal,
Last night the Chris Hemsworth who has watched over me since I was born was with my husband Nick trying to save the life of the newest member of The Order: Zach. I was helping aid him with my powers through the Dreamworld.
It was a lot of hard work. And it's still going now, although a few of us have been able to take a break and rest a little bit. Thank God.
But that begs the question:
"If that Chris Hemsworth was with you, then who the fuck joined Ed Sheeran on drums for his Singapore concert last night?"
Oh. You mean Hemsworth?
Three Thors: One Timeline
This is going to be old news for those of you who have been following The Order on Twitter since last December (the month Chris Hemsworth set up his drumming gig with Ed Sheeran, by the way).
But this is an important part of my life. I think it bears repeating. And it affects you too. I promise.
I have three Thors in my life.
And all of them are named Chris Hemsworth. Since all three live here on my land with me, I've adopted different nicknames for each to tell them apart: My Chris, Hemsworth and 2008 Chris.
I'm planning a post covering each of my three Thors in more detail, but here are the basics on each. You can think of them like triplets. They look alike, have very similar powers but if you are in love with them, you can tell them apart. (In my mind they are each very different from one another.)
My Chris - aka Otherside Chris, Original Chris and just plain Chris. This is the variant from my personal timeline. He was sent to the Otherside in March when killed during his attempt to destroy the Order. He's back now. 😉
Hemsworth - aka 900th Chris. When 'My Chris' was killed in March the 900th Chris Hemsworth variant was brought in to take his place here at home base.
2008 Chris - Born on a different timeline, this Thor was thrown by his brother Loki into a world that's nearly impossible to escape. We rescued him. The last year he remembers is 2008.
So, to answer your question about Saturday, August 24! Here is where each of the three Thors were:
My Chris - In an undisclosed hotel room with a large team of other Order members working to save the life of a young man named Zach.
Hemsworth - On stage with Ed Sheeran playing drums for the hit song Thinking Out Loud while 70,000 fans cheered.
2008 Chris - Here at my house guarding me against the Dark Armies.
Now, if you are a fairy, an angel or have worked for the Time Variance Authority (TVA) when it still existed, then the existence of the 3 Thors isn't mind boggling to you.
But! If it is, then let me clear a few things up for you.
The TVA
In short, the Time Variance Authority really exists existed.
Known as the TVA in most Marvel circles, the Time Variance Authority was just as terrifying as its other control-counterparts: the Matrix, the Adjustment Bureau and Spectre.
All four really existed. All four were destroyed this year by the Lord through myself (Eternity in the MCU) and the Order (think 'The Avengers').
And all four were created and developed by the Deceiver himself: Satan. Lucifer is not about sex, drugs and rock and roll. He's all about ashen landscapes devoid of all life. And he has used these four horrible agencies to control all life on Earth and around Creation in order to squeeze us into tiny boxes that never move.
But the Lord had us attack the Time Variance Authority (TVA) first. And no wonder. That thing was absolutely terrifying.
What is the TVA?
The TVA was Satan's attempt to control time itself. Instead, he ended up creating about 900 timelines in all over the last 7000 years. But what am I saying? I'm getting ahead of myself.
Let me break it down for you.
The absolute fastest way you can learn about the TVA is to watch the show LOKI. This timeline's Loki wrote LOKI based on his own experiences with the TVA and Gustaf and Jerry Weintraub produced it. I've watched both seasons at least three times in just the last few months. You don't even have to watch that many episodes of Season 1, though, to get a grip on what reality was only a few short months ago. It's quite sobering.
The second fastest way to learn about the TVA is to start watching fan videos or website about it. I wish I could explain it all to you, and I will try, but I will never do as good a job as Tom Hiddleston, Gustaf and Jerry Weintraub did when they created LOKI for you in the first place.
Satan's 'Sacred' Timeline: No Apocalypse
The TVA was created by fallen angels for Satan in order to prevent Judgement Day. Judgment Day, after all, is when the fallen angels quit having their fun on Earth. On that day, they will be judged and thrown into the Pit, also known as the Abyss.
If you don't know about the New Earth or the New Jerusalem, then you might think these fallen angels are out to help humanity. But they aren't. "All who are thirsty" are welcome to the New Earth. It's a means of escaping the destruction of this Earth.
And, like Noah's Ark, the Lord has sent a final ark to come and take those who wish to flee climate change/Judgement Day and head to the New Earth: the New Jerusalem. The Book of Revelation clearly describes the New Jerusalem as a large ship, 1400 miles wide and tall, that arrives with portals to the New Earth.
Well, the New Jerusalem was built in the middle of Australia and we picked it up years ago. We've sent billions to the New Earth through its portals. And they're still open. But not for much longer. (If you want to escape the 'heavenly fire' that's coming, aka 'severe radiation storm' I suggest you leave now, while you still can.)
And before you think a flying ship with a rainbow foundation can't possibly be 1400 miles wide and tall, take a look out your window. The Aurora Borealis have grown significantly these last four years, since the New Jerusalem arrived. And they are easily 1400 miles wide and tall - even bigger now. It's very easy for the Lord to build things that size...
Anyhow!
The TVA tried to prevent the Apocalypse by 'pruning' anyone who could bring it about. And this meant that they were not only deleting people who worked for the Lord, but they were violating the very laws of nature.
And that comes with a price. A heavy price.
In this case, time would try to heal itself by branching off into different timelines, allowing those pruned to live again. While Satan tried to kill a tree, let's say, the tree survived by digging its roots deep and sprouting up 10 more trees elsewhere. It branched off.
And then Satan ran off to chase down those branches.
In the end, the TVA said it wanted one "sacred timeline." But if you listen closely to what the TVA agents say in the show LOKI, what they're really aiming for is "control" instead of "chaos."
Well, that's what every socialist regime aims for. And socialism kills at a faster rate than Sharia law.
They claim to want safety for us all, when the safest place is in a jail cell or 'safe room.' Slaves can be considered 'safe' if kept in cages and fed, right? Prisoners too.
No - chaos is magical. It's like a flame. It dances. Time, if left alone, is a beautiful balance of both Order and Chaos.
The Result: A Multiverse of Madness
By creating so many different timelines, or 'branches,' a multiverse was born - not to be confused with the Sphere, a multiverse of millions of worlds that orbit Earth's universe of stars, galaxies and planets.
No, the Multiverse of Timelines is depicted in Marvel's Doctor Strange films. Earth and the Sphere remain constant throughout the various branches of time. But because they are different timelines, the story changes in each.
And thus, each branch has been named a universe. And the TVA has had to hunt down the Lord's prophets and saints and faithful angels over all the timelines - over the entire 'multiverse of madness' - in its effort to make just one timeline that never ends.
But!
Wizards, angels and fairies can travel IN BETWEEN these branches!!! Or at least, they did, when the TVA still existed.
When we destroyed the TVA, we went back to the Lord's original plan of just one timeline without a future. No one knows what's coming. Only the Lord.
Boy, that was a hard battle to win - creating it. Man, I'm glad that part of my life is over!!!
The Variants
And, as you can guess, multiple timelines/universes of the same world leads to multiple people with the same names. Each timeline has a Thor. And if there were 900 timelines in all at last count, then there have been as many as 900 Thors across the last 7000 years (the Fall in Eden happened 7000 years ago- Creation was much earlier than that).
That means that Thor has had about 900 "variants." I have variants. You have variants. We have all had variants on other timelines - unless, of course, you were born after June 24, 2024, when the TVA died.
Three Thor variants survived and live on this last and final timeline. Three Loki variants survived. And two Ryan Gosling (Gray Man) variants. (This turned my 16 Knights into 21. I am swamped.)
Speaking of Loki, since Tom Hiddleston is and was essential to the End of Days, he was pruned more than any other angel (aka 'god'). The TVA constantly calls Loki an evil god/angel, but if you pay close attention, the opposite is true.
Each Loki was pruned when they tried to do something good. Sylvie's Loki was pruned because she loved the Valkyrie. Another Loki was pruned because he thought he'd try and help the universe. Over and over again, Tom is pruned.
Well! There was a price for this. The more Satan and his TVA pruned Loki variants, the faster Time itself produced Loki variants in reaction.
As we see in the show LOKI, it produced a lot of different Lokis.
And, since so many magic folk were able to travel between timelines/universes, it was possible to move variants across a few timelines onto one single timeline.
And that's what happened with Thor.
Hemsworth was moved from the 900th timeline by Merlin onto my timeline after its own Chris was killed and sent to the Otherside. Merlin didn't tell me that, at the time. He just told me that Chris was back, and my health began to return.
I had begun to fade after my timeline's Thor left. I was deeply in love with Chris Hemsworth, and had been over hundreds of timelines. We were Romeo and Juliet, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, Alexander the Great and Esther... when he died I broke.
So Merlin began branch-hopping, going from timeline to timeline to find a Thor that hadn't sworn themselves to serve Lilith like My Chris had done. And there, on the 900th timeline, Merlin found the 900th Thor was pretty incredible. So he snapped him over to my bedside.
"Hey," he said when he saw me, and grabbed my hand. "This is Chris. I'm here." I grabbed his hand and breathed a sigh of relief. I didn't ask how he'd reached me, how he was back from the dead or why...
And My Chris looked on from the Otherside and choked. Eventually he couldn't stand it anymore and wrote a bunch of new songs. And the Lord let him release them, one by one.
I didn't notice until Livingston's Otherside. Hearing it scared me. I didn't even know the Otherside existed at the time. And I began to feel fear and dread. But then came Gravedigger - and it was my turn to choke:
"When you call my name Don't you know I'm not the same?"
It's a long story, but in the end I learned about the Otherside, I learned that the Chris Hemsworth I'd been with since March 6 was not the one I fell in love with back in December of 2023, but the 900th Chris Hemsworth variant. And... I finally spoke to My Chris.
He was on the Otherside at the time, but the moment I heard his voice, I began to truly live again. I began writing again. I began singing again. And best of all, I began writing poetry again.
That's when I asked Claire to search for any other Thor variants across the Sphere that we may have missed. The Multiverse of Madness was at an end. Only one timeline existed.
But! The Sphere still exists. And it's a multiverse of worlds. Millions of worlds of all shapes, sizes and type. The Dreamworld (Spiritual World, Angelic Realm, Astral Plane, etc.) permeates and connects the entire Sphere.
I made this diagram a while ago to keep the worlds around Earth straight in my head. But now I've traveled the Sphere so much, I know a lot about what lies beyond The Edge (its border).
Anyhow, I should go.
You know why Chris Hemsworth was able to keep the gig he booked with Ed Sheeran back in December, even though an emergency came up and he had to save Zach's life that night - August 24 - instead.
He just asked Hemsworth to do it. And Hemsworth knew that My Chris had written that song. Thinking Out Loud, for me in 2013, when I lost the ability to dance because my legs no longer worked. I moved to the east coast to try and find a diagnosis, and as I moved, My Chris released the song through Ed Sheeran.
I remember hearing it for the first time.
I am loved. Ridiculously loved. Loved enough to have more than one Thor, chief angel of thunder and lightning, take the stage before 70,000 fans to play for me, even though he wasn't the one who wrote the song in the first place.
Sometimes, being Eternity sucks.
But sometimes? It really doesn't.
Not even a little itty bitty bit.
_
Thank you for reading!!! And I'm so glad so many of you are leaving for the New Earth! Bravo!!!
UPDATE: Apocalypse Now?
I am so sorry that I did not address this question earlier. But yes, you are right. Now that the TVA is dead and there's only one timeline, the Apocalypse and Judgement Day are free to happen.
After destroying the TVA, we had to destroy Satan's other three agencies of control: the Matrix, the Adjustment Bureau (aka The Commission) and Spectre. But as of last Friday, all three have been destroyed.
After the TVA fell on June 24, my team destroyed the Matrix next, then the Adjustment Bureau and finally, on August 23, 2024, Cap and I destroyed Lilith and her magic spider, the leader and last remnant of Spectre.
So, as of last Friday, there's nothing stopping Judgement Day. And Satan knows it. He's grown a little frantic, throwing crazy shit at us that doesn't make sense. I just knock them down, one by one.
Satan's clever, but the Lord is greater.
So, in answer to your question - YES! You should leave now if you want to escape the fire from heaven that's coming. The Lord is good. He's given us all an escape route for anyone who is thirsty for it. So take it. Leave the "lovers of lies" to die in the flames.
Love!!!

A Dim Valley
A Dim Valley [trailer]
A curmudgeonly biologist and his stoner graduate students encounter a group of mysterious backpackers who disrupt their lives in beautiful and surprising ways.
The trailer looked funny and interesting. But there are just hints of characters and a story. You could shorten the movie to half its length and it would still feel to long. A short would do.
Not sure who would find this appealing. Maybe if you're stoned enough. But even then I'd imagine there are better alternatives to watch.

A Dim Valley https://bit.ly/34W7ay3 A Dim Valley is a quiet but bizarre drama that sets off in one direction only to blindside. All seems familiar at the outset. Three guys out on a botany field trip in Kentucky – two students and the prof. The students are the jockish one Albert (Whitmer Thomas) and Ian (Zach Weintraub) who … Read More »

The International Sign for Choking (Zach Weintraub, 2011)
This is a cute li’l indie drama. Seeing the way the lead character behaves reminds me of how poorly-suited I am to ever be in casual romantic situations. To be able to clearly see when encounters are only viable for a brief moment and not the long-term is not something I have ever been very good at. I get attached. And I am loyal. But sometimes I miss the writing on the wall.
Which is all just to say that I would not blow a girl like that off over some lousy ex.
This film is really beautifully shot. The quality of the light and the warmth of the colors throughout are a little bit beyond what I normally expect to see in a modest independent film of this kind. All of the Spanish is nice to listen to. Zach Weintraub does a good job playing a kind of crappy dude. And Sophia Takal, as usual, is an angel from on high (which is her only speed).
My only question is: Did the title of this film come from the restaurant sketch on The State?

1xRUN’s Murals in the Market 2017.
If, as an artist, you asked me “Zach, where should I move to?” I would immediately say Detroit, Michigan. You’d probably ask, “What, why?,” and I would explain, with a great deal of passion, many of my phenomenal experiences there within the incredible and burgeoning art community. One which is largely bolstered by 1xRUN and their yearly “Murals in the Market” art festival that takes place in Detroit’s Eastern Market.
The festival, which this year brought 40-plus new murals to the city from a local and international roster of artists, encompasses not only artistic reinvention but historical remembrance to enliven the storied city within it’s one week series of events which included print shows, exhibitions at Inner State Gallery, barbecues, historical tours, concerts, roof-top fine dining and of course the miraculous experience of seeing creation take place in the form of murals - many of them devoted to Detroit itself.
It was one hell of a wonderful adventure.
This years roster included: Amy Fisher Price (Detroit), Anthony Lee (Detroit), Antonio “Shades” Agee (Detroit), Arlin (Brazil), Askew One (New Zealand), Bask (St. Petersburg), Beau Stanton (Brooklyn), Brandon "BMike" Odums (New Orleans), Camilo Pardo (Detroit), Case Maclaim (Germany), Dan Witz (New York), Denial (Canada), Drew Leshko (Philadelphia), Eddie Colla (Oakland), Ellen Rutt (Detroit), FEL3000ft (Detroit), Heidi Barlow (Detroit), HOXXOH (Miami), James Bullough (Germany), Jeff Gress (Hawaii), Jeremiah Britton (Detroit), Jonny Alexander (San Diego), Jose Felix Perez (Miami), Julian Spradlin (Detroit), Kevin Lyons (New York), Jonathan Mannion (New York), Laura Finlay (Detroit), Lauren Napolitano (Oakland), Lunch Money (New York), Malt (Detroit), Mary Iverson (Seattle), Meggs (Australia), Michael Vasquez (Miami), Michelle Tanguay (Detroit), Ouizi (Detroit), Pat Perry (Detroit), Paul Johnson (Detroit), Rashaun Rucker (Detroit), Rick Williams (Detroit), Shaina Kasztelan (Detroit), Skewville (New York), Sydney G. GOP leaders weigh drastic plan to save Alabama Senate seat
With Kevin Robillard, Heather Caygle, Zach Montellaro and Maggie Severns
The following newsletter is an abridged version of Campaign Pro’s Morning Score. For an earlier morning read on exponentially more races — and for a more comprehensive aggregation of the day’s most important campaign news — sign up for Campaign Pro today. (http://www.politicopro.com/proinfo)
Story Continued Below
LATEST FROM ALABAMA — “GOP leaders weigh drastic plan to save Alabama Senate seat,” by POLITICO’s Alex Isenstadt and Eliana Johnson: “Republican leaders are exploring a dramatic remedy to salvage the Alabama Senate seat as fresh polling shows Roy Moore’s prospects fading fast. With less than four weeks until the special election and no sign that the party’s besieged nominee will exit the race, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his top advisers are discussing the legal feasibility of asking appointed Sen. Luther Strange to resign from his seat to trigger a new special election. McConnell aides express caution, saying they’re uncertain whether such a move, one of several options being discussed, is even possible. Yet the talks underscore the despair among top Republicans over relinquishing a seat in deep-red Alabama, further diminishing their slim Senate majority.” Full story.
— “New Moore accusers step forward as campaign disputes another,” by Campaign Pro’s Daniel Strauss: “Three more women accused Roy Moore of inappropriate behavior on Wednesday, the same day that his Senate campaign held a news conference challenging a woman who earlier this week accused Moore of sexual assault. One of the new accusers, Tina Johnson, told AL.com that Moore flirted with her and grabbed her buttocks in 1991 when he was an attorney handling her child custody case. Johnson told her story in the week after four women told The Washington Post that Moore pursued relationships with them when they were teenagers and Moore was in his 30s, including one woman who said Moore undressed her and touched her over her underwear when she was 14.” Full story.
THE UNDERDOG — “How Jones could pull off a stunner in Alabama,” by POLITICO’s Gabriel Debenedetti and Strauss: “The first and most vital task for Doug Jones to pull off a once-unthinkable upset in Alabama: Get Republican voters comfortable with the idea that it’s OK to pull the lever for this Democrat, if the alternative is scandal-wracked Roy Moore. … Nearly unthinkable even a week ago, the prospect of Jones becoming the first Democrat elected to the Senate from Alabama in a quarter-century has suddenly become very real. Jones remains an underdog in a state that chose Donald Trump by a 28-point margin in the presidential election, and where Democrats comprise just over a third of the electorate, according to polling.” Full story.
RUSSIA WATCH — “Senate Majority PAC asks GOP groups to make foreign meddling pact,” by Campaign Pro’s Kevin Robillard: “Senate Majority PAC, the main super PAC backing Senate Democrats, is challenging its Republican competitors to disavow foreign involvement in U.S. elections. Both of the groups named in the statement — Senate Leadership Fund, the super PAC aligned with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and the Koch brothers-backed Americans for Prosperity — declined to comment. Senate Majority PAC’s statement shows how Democrats remain worried about foreign interference in the 2018 elections after the U.S. intelligence community determined Russia intervened in the 2016 elections to harm Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.” Full story.
HAPPENING TODAY — FEC commissioners poised to act on ad disclosure rules: Republican members of the Federal Election Commission signaled Wednesday night they’re ready for the FEC to start revising its rules overseeing online political ads, a response to online Russian interference in the 2016 elections. In an agenda document posted to the FEC website, the three Republican commissioners propose a motion that would set into place the regulatory process for reworking the rules around online ads. “The need to prevent such [foreign] interference is an issue that transcends partisan politics, and on which all Americans can agree,” the motion says.
— Why now? Similar past attempts to regulate online political ads gathered little public attention and quickly fizzled out. But the FEC received “thousands” of comments in recent weeks since it asked the public to weigh in on online ad disclosure rules, the motion says. Google and Facebook were among the expert voices that chimed in, as did Sen. Bernie Sanders’ online gurus at Revolution Messaging.
— But but but: The trio will need one more vote to join them in order to pass their motion. Democrat Ellen Weintraub also plans to suggest moving ahead with the rulemaking, per a motion posted online, and has for months prodded the FEC to take aggressive action. Commissioner Steven Walther, an independent, plans to propose that the FEC set up a public hearing.
FIRST IN SCORE — ON THE AIRWAVES — Not One Penny Coalition up with seven-figure TV ad buy in New York: The Not One Penny Coalition is out with cable and network TV ads in New York, criticizing the Republican tax plan for “[raising] taxes on New York families by eliminating deductions that regular people count on,” the ad says. “Why do they want to raise our taxes? So they can give a huge tax break to the super wealthy and the big corporations,” the ad continues. The ads started airing on Wednesday and will continue through Nov. 22. Watch the ad here.
Days until the 2018 election: 355.

GUNS IN 2018 — Checking in with Giffords: The Giffords political team sat down with Campaign Pro to talk about the midterms. Citing Virginia, they highlighted suburban, well-educated districts where they say gun safety messaging is proving effective. “If [Democrats] do take the majority in 2018, the better part of their gains are going to come from [Romney-Clinton] districts and guns are going to have played an important role,” said Peter Ambler, executive director of Giffords.
— On Democratic primaries, Giffords’ political director Isabelle James said that they are “seeing a lot of folks vying to be the best on the [guns] issue, more so than even previous cycles.” The endorsement is a way for when “perhaps [there] isn’t as much of a contrast” in primaries, “people are trying to figure out, ‘what can I say to create a wedge,'” James said. Giffords already announced that it’s backing three veterans: Jason Crow (CO-06), Gil Cisneros (CA-39) and Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11). “Guns is a litmus test for Democrats,” Ambler added.
— On GOP endorsements, Ambler said he expects them to endorse Republicans and Democrats, noting that Pennsylvania Rep. Ryan Costello and New York Rep. Dan Donovan have been partners on legislation.
— On Democrats using guns in their own ads, James said it works for candidates, like Jason Kander, where “he has real credibility” on using firearms. But Ambler warned against a candidate grabbing a rifle and sticking it in an ad to try to appeal to voters. Ambler cited Democrat Lon Johnson’s ad last cycle, in which he looked “articularly uncomfortable and inauthentic. … You’ve got to be true to who you are.”
FEELING THEIR OATS — Internal poll shows Fischer underwater in Nebraska: Democrats, fresh off a surprisingly large victory in the Virginia governor’s race, are looking at some long-shot opportunities on the 2018 map. One of them? The Nebraska Senate race. Lincoln Councilmember Jane Raybould’s campaign is out with a survey from Democratic IVR firm Public Policy Polling showing Republican Sen. Deb Fischer’s approval rating is at just 35 percent, with 45 percent disapproval. Fischer led Raybould, 42 percent to 31 percent, but “after being given Democrat Jane Raybould’s background and asked again who they would vote for, Raybould leads” 38 percent to 35 percent. Raybould is little-known, with 71 percent of registered voters not knowing who she is. The poll, conducted 80 percent by IVR and 20 percent online, surveyed 1,190 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points. Full polling memo.
— SO YOU’RE SAYING THERE’S A CHANCE? — Democrats are bullish on their chances of taking back the House next year, particularly after sweeping victories last week in Virginia and elsewhere up and down the ballot. House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told reporters Wednesday he’s giving Democrats a “60 percent chance” of winning the majority in 2018, noting he thinks their odds will only go up. “Even in the last cycle I would not have said [that],” Hoyer said, pointing to big Democratic gains on Election Day and historic early fundraising totals for Democratic challengers as reasons for his optimism.
— Hoyer also dismissed criticism that he and other Democratic leaders are playing favorites when they donate to specific candidates in a crowded primary field. “You need to have people win the primaries who can win the generals,” Hoyer said. “We want to try to get the strongest general election candidate. That is not necessarily always the strongest primary candidate.”
FIRST IN SCORE — WEB WARS — Mackler launches microsite targeting Blackburn: James Mackler, the Democrat running for Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker’s seat, has launched a microsite targeting Rep. Marsha Blackburn, the leading GOP candidate. The site, ByeByeBlackburn.com, attacks the congresswoman for voting for the GOP’s Obamacare repeal plan, for “refus[ing] to take responsibility for her role in intensifying our nation’s drug crisis,” and for “remain[ing] silent on fellow Breitbart-endorsed candidate Roy Moore and the horrific allegations made against him for days.” Full site here.
EARLY POLLING DATA — “WBUR poll finds Warren and Baker are up big over their challengers,” by WBUR’s Ben Swasey: “Warren is viewed favorably by 55 percent of Massachusetts voters, according to the survey, and the Democrat has advantages of at least 23 percentage points when faced off individually against her four declared challengers. In hypothetical match-ups, Warren leads Geoff Diehl, 58 percent to 32 percent; Shiva Ayyadurai, 58-27; Beth Lindstrom, 56-33; and John Kingston, 57-33. … Baker is viewed favorably by 67 percent of the state’s voters, and the Republican holds leads of at least 34 points against his three declared Democratic challengers. Baker is up 59 percent to 19 percent over Jay Gonzalez, 60-21 over Bob Massie, and 58-24 over Setti Warren. (At this stage, Warren is the challenger most well-known and viewed most favorably among Democratic voters.)” Full story.
— Arizona Senate poll shows Sinema tied with potential GOP candidates: A new poll from GOP firm OH Predictive Insights has Democratic Rep. Kyrsten Sinema tied with both leading potential GOP candidates in Arizona’s Senate race. Sinema is tied with Rep. Martha McSally, earning 46 percent of the vote to McSally’s 45 percent. Against former state Sen. Kelli Ward, Sinema earns 46 percent of the vote to Ward’s 43 percent. In the GOP primary, Ward leads McSally, 42 percent to 34 percent, with 24 percent undecided. The poll of 600 likely general election voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. The poll of 323 likely GOP primary voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.5 percentage points. Full results.

GOP leaders weigh drastic plan to save Alabama Senate seat

#Retland #Pixelart #Gamedev #32pxart #TECH ‘The Good Fight’ Review: CBS’s Compelling New Legal Drama Deserves a Bigger Platform BY ALLISON KEENE FEBRUARY 17, 2017 SHARE TWEET the-good-fight-review Before I get into the virtues of The Good Fight — of which there are many — I have to pause and discuss CBS’s strategy for releasing the show. Initially, the broadcast network wanted to debut its premium streaming service, CBS All Access, on the back of a new Star Trek series, Discovery. After that, its Good Wife spinoff series, The Good Fight, would be the next new series offered exclusively on All Access, which also hosts CBS’s entire back catalogue of programming. Unfortunately, Star Trek: Discovery was plagued with production delays, so The Good Fight was moved up. As much as I like the show and the one it spun off from, I question the thinking of putting The Good Fight on CBS All Access to begin with. The Good Wife, though critically acclaimed, had a moderate viewership at best, and it’s unlikely that those fans will clamor to pay for a new series that is for them unproven. And if the idea is that they’ll want to already want to have All Access for when Star Trek: Discovery finally launches, well, is the crossover between these two show’s fandoms really that significant? Feels like a reach. the-good-fight-images-8 Image via CBS All of this is to say that I believe, vehemently, that The Good Fight should be airing on CBS proper, and available for all to see without extra payment. It’s a fresh take on The Good Wife model, and one that puts women and minorities first. To relegate it to an online paid service feels like exactly like the kind of marginalization that this show is fighting against. As to the particulars of The Good Fight, they are thus: Good Wife staple Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) is ready to retire from the now merged firm of Lockhart, Deckler, Gussman, Lee, Lyman, Gilbert, Lurie, Kagan, Tannenbaum, and Associates, and move to the Italian countryside. But just as she’s about to sign the papers, she finds out that, in fact, she’s broke. Her money is either gone or frozen, thanks to the Madoff-esque Ponzi scheme of a close family friend, whose daughter — Diane’s goddaughter, Maia Rindell (Rose Leslie) — just started working for the firm. The first episode of The Good Fight explores the fallout from this, while also managing to sneak in a legal case. It’s what made The Good Wife so, well, good — that balance of character drama and legal drama. Both women are in downward spiral for very different reasons, but they leave the firm together for new shores, that of an (otherwise) all-black firm, one where Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) also recently landed. There are many thematic parts to The Good Fight that feel like the show from which it came. Like Alicia Florrick (who is named but will not appear in this series), Maia is an excellent lawyer, but she’s sometimes used as a pawn because of her family’s scandal. Diane is also starting down a few pegs below were she was when she was at her own firm, though not as far down as Alicia was in Season 1 of The Good Wife when she returns to law as a junior associate. But essentially, both shows feature women at tumultuous times in their lives, being called on to be tough and move on, even when they are at the brink of personal collapse. the-good-fight-images-5 Image via CBS Though there is no Juliana Margulies, there are plenty of other familiar faces on the show that makes it feel very connected to its predecessor. In addition to Lucca and Diane, Eli’s daughter Marissa (Sarah Steele), Diane’s estranged husband Kurt (Gary Cole), her former law partner David Lee (Zach Grenier), and quirky fellow attorney Elsbeth Tasconi (Carrie Preston) make regular appearances, alongside some familiar judges and lawyers. But The Good Fight is also completely its own story, especially in the character of Maia, who is just starting out and battling an unending sea of people who hate her because of what her father did (or is accused of doing). Leslie, Baranski, and Jumbo also do an excellent job leading the series, each providing compelling performances that feel new despite their appearances on the former show. They don’t have to be likable, but they are, and exceptionally so. And while so much feels the same, stylistically, about The Good Fight, there are a few things that feels like it’s leaning into because it’s not on CBS’s regular TV schedule, like the focus on the all-black firm and three female leads (one of whom is a lesbian, one of whom is black, and one of whom is 64 years old). Perhaps this is just my cynicism about network TV and CBS’s refusal to show any diversity in its regular programming, but it does feel like the show’s creators, Robert and Michelle King, are free to tell exactly the kind of story they want to. It’s still a procedural, but it’s a damn fine one — one worth paying for CBS All Access, even though it deserves so much more. Rating: ★★★★ Very good — Women on top! The Good Fight premieres Sunday, January 19th on CBS before moving exclusively to CBS All Access. the-good-fight-images-9 Image via CBS the-good-fight-images-4 Image via CBS the-good-fight-images-3 Image via CBS the-good-fight-images-6 Image via CBS PREVIOUS ARTICLE Top 5 Matt Damon Performances: How Do You Like Them Apples? A few stills from Bummer Summer (2010, Zach Weintraub) that really sell short the fantastic DSLR cinematography. The use of wider shutter (smeared motion that looks like 60i) sits well with the slow-cinema static camera (the most unappreciated aspect of low-budget American indies is how much they’ve experimented with new digital capture models – certainly more than mainstream cinema). Reveals life as off-and-on alone time.
