But I have plenty-a-headcanon for Miracle!!

Miracle Matter was created after Zero had revived as Zero2, they were created to essentially become his second in command to lead the Dark Matter legion after the defeat of Dark Matter Swordsman.

For Zero2 had given her the knowledge of their past encounters, and the other encounters the matters had, with the menacing pink puffball. This is what gave her the idea to use Kirby’s copy abilities against him.

Miracle has no gender like all matters but I see them having a rather distorted voice, sometimes unintelligible. She responds to any pronouns.

Her eyes do regenerate after some time.

After their defeat and being taken to Paradiso... whenever Gooey visits Z2 she usually comes over as well. She’s essentially an older sibling to them.

I will explain the dark matters and the light/dark creation magic stuff eventually as it is part of a very, very, very, v e r y long story me and Mod Taranza wrote together!!

Poe Dameron X Pilot!Reader

A/N: It’s shorter than I’d like, but I cannot write good fluff to save my life, so I basically did my best. Nevertheless, enjoy! - Nemo

Summary: Going out for a late-night walk with her droid seemed like a good idea. But then her droid ditched her. But she got someone better for company anyway, so it didn’t really matter.

News about the light Riding spread quickly, and two days after the ‘race’ people would come up to you asking for favours and to send things to others - many who you’d never been introduced to before - and call you Rider. 

After that not many people bothered to learn or remember your name, and as sad as it might sound, you didn’t mind. You rather liked being called Rider. 

You’d never had a nickname before.

Beside you Z2 beeped, making his way along the floor as you both wandered around the base. By now you’d done two laps of the place, and had just about reached where the ships were landed again. 

“Yeah bud, I know.” It was understandable he was concerned - even if it wasn’t like him to be like that - since being awake when everyone else was asleep wasn’t exactly normal. On Nephimm it definitely wasn’t. 

The only reason you were out now was because Z2 himself suggested that a walk could help you sleep better, and that it could help clear your head about all the things that had happened recently. Now here he was telling you to go back to bed. 

He obviously had enough of walking around.

“How about you go back, and if I’m not back in another half hour you check on me?” you said, quietly climbing onto the wing of your X-Wing, “Sound agreeable?” you asked, turning to face him, only to find he had already turned around to start making his way back. 

Z2-4 was one funny droid.

You were left there, staring up at the stars and moon - actually visible through the trees this time - hands behind you to support you as you sat, and your legs dangling off the wing. If it wasn’t so cold, it would be pretty picturesque. 

A crash sounded behind you, followed by a number of metal tools falling to the floor. You turned, only making out a figure in the darkness hastily trying to put everything back while mumbling words under their breath.

Had they noticed you? 

They stood up straighter, you noticed it looked like they had a cloak on. A very big one. Were they running away? Or worse, were they sneaking in? 

You slowly slid off your ship, grabbing the crowbar that was resting against it, and hid close to your ship. They were coming your way, and once they got close enough the light from the moon would make them recognisable. 

They shuffled closer, looking around as they did, and kept coming in the direction of your ship. Maybe they had seen you. You couldn’t decide to hold the crowbar tighter or not. 

The figure looked up at your ship, stopping, then looked around again. They had noticed you.

“Hello?” 

It was Poe Fucking Dameron.

Wrapped up in a blanket no less. 

“Jesus Poe,” you stepped out of the shadows, the crowbar now limp in your hand, “I thought you were a spy or something.” 

“You were going to attack me?” He asked, now being close enough to see his face, “With a crowbar?” he laughed, looking down at your hand. 

“It would’ve been very deadly, Poe. I could’ve killed you.”

“I thought your name was Rider, not Killer?” 

“I’m starting to think you want me to hit you.” you sat the crowbar back down against your ship, then climbed back up to your former spot. 

“Maybe not with a crowbar.” he said, sending a wink to you as he stood beneath you. He then rested his forehead on your knees, wrapping the blanket tighter around his neck before flipping himself over and leaning against your legs. 

He was so cute. You swore if he kept that up your heart would melt. 

“Couldn’t sleep either?” he mumbled, leaning his head back to look at you. 

You hummed in agreement.

“So you got your own Squadron, huh?” he said, smiling.

“Yes, Poe. But you do know it’s not really mine, right?” you said, tilting your head down at him. “I’m only a Major.”

“Yeah well, this Squad is brand new, and anyways - one day you’ll Command your own. I can feel it down here.” he pointed to his stomach, rubbing it underneath his blanket.

“Ever hopeful for me to steal your job, aren’t you?” you ruffled his hair in your hands as you spoke, he just stared up at you, a closed-lipped smile stuck on his face. “What?” you said with a laugh after a few moments.

“You’re really pretty. Like the beautiful-type of pretty.” He said, looking into your eyes. “The kind that makes you wonder if angels really exist and that makes you know all this fighting really is worth it. The kind that makes you wonder if all those old stories about love are true and that maybe, just maybe, they could happen to you.” 

Did he really just say that? Maybe you were dreaming? You pinched yourself really quick, just to make sure, and true as true he was still there staring at you with some sort of giddy look in his eyes.

“Are you okay Poe?” you asked, resting a hand on his forehead, “Maybe you’re sick, or have you been drinking? You shouldn’t drink that much Poe-”

“- (y/n), shut up.” he cut you off, laughing as he pushed off your legs to then climb up onto your ship's wing to sit next to you. “You know you’re a good pilot, kriff - everyone knows that - but I’ve seen you around others, and you seem to be the only person who doesn’t know how beautiful you are.” You stared over at him.

“You do know I could’ve killed you, like, five minutes ago, right?” 

“(y/n) be serious!” he said, smiling widely in a way that sent butterflies straight to your stomach. “You don’t even notice, I can’t decide if that's the worst or the best part.” 

You smiled at that.

“Poe ‘I have an opinion on everything’ Dameron can’t make up his mind.” you said, smile turning into a cheeky grin. “Now that is something.” 

“Ah, who’re you to talk, just come ‘ere.” He said, chuckling as he wrapped his blanket-clad arms around you. 

It wasn’t cold anymore, not with Poe’s blanket - and of course him - right there with you to keep you warm. You thought that falling asleep now was more inviting than ever.

In fact you almost wished you told Z2 to come find you in an hour or two later instead of just half a one. Especially once Poe rested his head atop of yours.

That was a picturesque sight.

Z2 alternate scene

Notes: this picks up as Addison puts the moonstone necklace on.  My excuse?  The trailers made me hate Wyatt.  I’ve watched the trailers multiple times.  I’ve seen the movie once.  I still kinda hate Wyatt.

“Addison!” Everyone – human, werewolf, and zombie - stared at the girl as the Patrol Chief ran towards his daughter as she crumpled to the ground.  Without a second thought, Zed followed.

“Addison?” Zed took her hand, and everything stopped.  Her heartbeat was slower, her face nearly as white as her hair.  “Addy, I’m here,” he whispered, kneeling at her side.  “Addison.”

She could not answer.

Zed stood, slowly, quietly walking towards the pack.  Towards Wyatt.

The pack was tense, beginning to snarl as Zed circled the werewolf.

“That stone could have killed her,” he growled, tempering down his seething anger.  “You had no idea what would happen if she put it on and she wasn’t your Great Alpha.  You convinced her that she was a monster, when that couldn’t be further from the truth.”  His eyes flashed as he looked back at Addison, laying helplessly in her father’s arms, the moonstone pulsing on her chest.

Wyatt’s hand was hovering over his own moonstone.  Zed moved to match the threat, ready to unclasp his Z-band.

“She met the standard set by the prophecy.  You have no idea how long we’ve been searching for the Great Alpha – we were dying. We still are.  Without that Z-band, you’re still alive.  You exist.  Without the moonstones and the Alpha, the wolves are gone.”

“Maybe that’s a price worth paying if it had kept Addison safe,” Zed spat.

Wyatt bared his teeth, snarling.  Zed’s hand hovered over his Z-band.  Whatever people behind him were saying, it was all a blur.  His dad, Eliza and Bonzo, Bree, the rest of the wolves… none of it mattered.  His only focus was Addison and the wolf that had nearly killed her.

“She’s human.  Look what your moonstone did to her.”

“It was a risk she was willing to take,” Wyatt retaliated.  “Ever since we came to Seabrook, Addison tried to help us. Maybe fitting in was what zombies wanted.  But we’re wolves.  We wanted to survive.”

“Even if it meant hurting innocent people?”

“Wearing the moonstone was Addison’s choice, zombie,” Willa said savagely.

“Yeah, and who convinced her that she needed to put it on?  That she was your Great Alpha?”

“Well maybe if you hadn’t stormed into our den, ready to attack us for something we didn’t do,” Wyatt started, but Zed cut him off:

“Maybe if you had tried to fit in instead of literally ripping up our school, this wouldn’t have happened in the first place.”

Wyatt smirked. “You mean maybe Addison wouldn’t have left you if you had listened to her.”

Zed’s Z-band lay on the den floor, discarded as he launched himself at the werewolf.  Thick black veins spread across his skin and everything except the need to destroy the wolves disappeared from what was left of his mind.  Everyone in the den could only watch as the monsters fought, growling ferally.  Willa immediately joined the fight, attacking the zombie from behind.  The wolves circled him, the other zombies watching tensely, Addison still unconscious with her father.

Wyatt lunged forward, fangs bared, easily avoiding the zombie’s blocks and they both tumbled to the ground.  The circle widened, nobody wanting to get between the fighting monsters.  My Z-band, some distant part of Zed’s mind thought as his foot hit something on the ground.  He ignored it – his instinct to kill the werewolf was stronger than what was left of his mind.  Zed growled lowly as more wolves advanced, carefully pulling their packmates from the fight.  One by one, the wolves left the fight, leaving the rogue Zombie alone.

“Addison, thank god you’re okay,” Dale smiled in relief as his daughter stirred.

She blinked slowly.  “Dad?”

“Addy, it’s okay. You’re safe, now.  How many times do I have to tell you?  Monsters are not safe.”

Addison’s gaze left her father, and she stared at the crowd of people.  Her dazed confusion tightened to fear as the scene in front of her registered in her mind.  “Zed,” she said in a strangled cry.

“It’s okay, Addy. You’re safe, now,” Dale repeated. Addison struggled against her father’s embrace.

“They’ll kill each other,” she said hoarsely.  “Dad,” she looked up at her father, “Zed…”  Addison was at a loss for words, but her concern for the boys was evident from her voice.

“It’s too dangerous, Addison.”

“No.”  Addison freed herself and made her way towards the fighting monsters.  Dale lunged to catch her, but she moved faster.  “No,” she repeated vehemently over her shoulder at her father’s protests.

Zed would never hurt her.  Ever. Addison didn’t know what to think about the wolves now that she knew she was human.  But Zed, she knew, would do anything to keep her safe.  And she would do the same for him.

Addison picked the discarded Z-band from the den floor, then made her way through the circle to face them.  As she broke the barrier, she locked eyes with Zed.  He looked at her for a split second, then threw Wyatt away from him, away from her.  Addison heard Wyatt howl as he spun across the room, but Zed had his back up against her, protecting her from what he perceived to be the werewolf threat.

“This isn’t who we are,” she said softly, quickly snapping his Z-band back into place.  The dark veins began to fade as the electromagnetics made contact with his nervous system.

“Addison! Get back!”

Addison turned her back on the wolves, trusting them to do their part to diffuse the situation. Just like it had been two years ago, they had to work together to open people’s minds.  

“Zed, it’s okay. Take my hand,” she clasped his hand in her own, “it’s okay.  Take my hand.”

“That moonstone nearly killed you, Addison,” Zed said as he regained control of his mind.

“And that was on me.  That was my choice to have made.  Gar garziga,” she said quietly, “but that was my choice.”

Speechless, Zed buried himself in the one person whom he trusted more than himself.  “Gar garziga,” he mumbled into her hair.

Addison pulled away slightly.  “What happened?  I’m guessing since I blacked out that I’m… well, I’m the same as I always was.”

Neither of them had noticed the rest of their friends had moved up to encircle them.

“You’re beautiful, Addison.  The same beautiful you’ve always been,” Bree reassured her friend.  Addison smiled sadly, nodding.

“Addison, I…” Zed looked down at his girlfriend, wondering what he had ever done to deserve someone like her.

The wolf pack had joined the crowd.  “She’s not a werewolf.”  Wyatt clicked his tongue, winking.  “Okay, so it looks like you’re not the Great Alpha.  Which means,” he sighed dramatically, “that my sister is still in charge of the pack.”

“I knew he had an ulterior motive for bringing you here, Addison.  Real, actual sibling rivalry, at its finest,” Zed said smugly. Addison laughed, a brief giggle more to release her tension than as a response to anything.

*end scene* *the timer runs down and the plant detonates*

OK BUT .. Earth.. off Z2 is a masterpiece and is the most underrated song on the album it’s SO abstractly and amazingly composed. It takes you on such a complex journey

OH MY GOD I JUST CAME IN MY PANTS. Okay. I’m calming down now….. But honestly holy fuck, I want gay women to love Devin the same way gay men love Cher, you feel me? He’s just… he’s a total icon imo. Get ready for a LOOOOONNNNG answer, because this man has a lot of records and they’re all phenomenal, but choosing where to start depends upon your taste and mood!

If you’re into super heavy/ thrashy metal, listen to Strapping Young Lad first. ✨City✨ is the best album, but ✨Alien✨ is a close contender. Especially those first four tracks, OH MY GOD. (Bonus! Watch Strapping Young Lad at Download Fest in 2006 on YouTube. One of metal’s most entertaining live performances.)

If you like more dramatic/ proggy metal, listen to ✨Ocean Machine✨ or ✨Terria✨. Absolute classics, especially for guitar nerds.

Z2 is………….. not the best… lmao. If you’re digging it, that’s awesome, and Devin can do no wrong! But that’s such a WEIRD album. It has 2 halves: Sky Blue, with all the melodic/ prog metal moments. Then Dark Matters, with the Ziltoid storyline and goofy comedy stuff. For more fun prog metal like Sky Blue, check out ✨Epicloud✨! It has a gospel choir and it’s very produced and poppy. Super fun! For more comedy that flows MUCH BETTER than Dark Matters and just feels more metal, listen to ✨Ziltoid the Omniscient✨. That is one of my FAVORITE records of all time. It absolutely shreds, and it cracks me up. It’s a masterpiece.

Finally, if you wanna know his gayest record, it’s ✨Accelerated Evolution✨. Random Analysis is a very Gay Song… so is Sunday Afternoon. Deadhead is the best known track on that album, and it’s totally a lesbian anthem. Lots of queer energy on that record…. Devin is totally bisexual. I love him.

Anyway, that was probably way more than you bargained for! Sorry, but this shit is my lifeblood! I take Dev way too seriously, haha. Let me know if any of these records speak to you! I’m super curious about how other gay women feel about his music.

Ziltoid lore rabbit hole

Oh lord Jesus....get ready.

I was thinking about the line:

"Theres more you have in common with humans than you realize...think back to your childhood, you must know how I know!" [1]

Specifically, I focused on:

"Theres more you have in common with humans than you realize..." [1]

Like the fool that I am I misinterpreted it as meaning Ziltoid was half human, and I was very wrong. However, by thinking about this I made a realization. Yes, Captain Spectacular is half ziltoidian. WOW GENIUS I KNOW.

All sarcasm aside there's more behind this when you take into consideration that Captain Spectacular and Ziltoid had a childhood together, but the fact that. Ziltoid doesn't remember means that he was taken from his mother and half brother when he was still very young, young enough to forget, still young enough to be assimilated into the Ziltoidian hive mind.

I think this time spent around humans greatly effected how Ziltoid would develop, he couldn't be fully assimilated because he was born on earth away from it all, around humans. It all makes sense now... he was raised on earth by a mother who wanted to protect him from his father.

In the beginning of Z2 the narration says:

"Humans are a strange species, equal parts good to evil."

Ziltoid is unlike other ziltoidians because he's already been influenced by humanity. He's not a barbarian, he's sensitive.

"Back home, I was picked on like you wouldn’t believe. Sheesh, what a bunch of dicks those guys are. I was sensitive, in a race of creatures that view sensitivity as a liability. ‘Chaos and war as the path to transcendence’ and all that… yaddayaddayadda. The collective suspects Ziltoid to go rogue because of his individuality, which is why they keep an eye on him. They know he's been influenced by earth, so who better to conquer it?

Why choose Ziltoid as the one to save their species if they don't trust him? Surely there's others more suitable for the job, and if Ziltoid is so untrustworthy why is he the commander of a Ziltoidian war ship? I'll tell you why...because his father is high up in the ranks, possibly The Ziltoidian King, making Ziltoid a prince.

"What makes you jump to that conclusion?" you might ask. "What's your proof he's even royalty?"

This would make sense why a "nerd" and "weakling" like Ziltoid would be placed in such a high rank with such an important task. He's royalty, and as royalty he has a specific role to fill and along with that role comes privileges.

So far we've concluded that Captain Spectacular is half ziltoidian, Ziltoid's mom remained on earth with his half brother, Ziltoid has been influenced and softened by humanity, and that his father is a more than likely a king.

Now, let's talk about Ziltoid’s father.

We only know a little about Ziltoid’s mom, we know that Ziltoid is a mama's boy as mentioned here:

"I am a puppet, and my mommy’s little guy. Ziltoid out."

And on the Z2 Official Website he happily calls out "Mommy!" When you select the family portrait, despite the father also being in the photo.

Ziltoid never mentions his father, however we know someone had to have taken him back to Ziltoidia 9 and we know it wasn't his mother. I propose a theory:

Ziltoid's father is the true villain of the story. Yes, I'm calling it.

[Ziltoid:] Woah! Gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme!

[Captain Spectacular:] Ziltoid, you were always destined to be humanity’s last hope! Now end this!

From here we can see that Captain Spectacular has remained with their mother on earth, and knew Ziltoid would return to save it, which is why she had Captain Spectacular wait for Ziltoid to return to give it to him.

We see Ziltoid as a baby with both his biological parents [2], so how did Ziltoid have a childhood with his human half brother on earth?

Ziltoid's mother must've been a rogue like he later became. She had to have left the collective where she traveled to earth with her newborn son. Why would she do that unless there was a threat? That's because there was.

Ziltoid's mother and father both knew that Ziltoid would be humanity's last hope, so his mother fled to earth knowing earth needed him, and knowing her husband would try to change Ziltoid's destiny so that he would wipe out humanity to make room for their own species.

[Blattaria:] So you're saying, his home planet is dying? … And he needs to find a suitable place to colonize? [5]

Who else would have the power to track down a singular rogue Ziltoidian woman and her baby? Who would feel the need to other than the father of the child? Who would have the authority to go to earth just to reclaim a single Ziltoidian baby, when the threat of intergalactic war, or being discovered by humans is real? The Ziltoidian King, Ziltoid’s father.

We know that Ziltoid was raised alongside Captain Spectacular, but since Ziltoid left Ziltoidia 9 with his mother, that makes Ziltoid the older brother; but probably not by much considering they were children together.

Considering Ziltoid's mom had another child on earth with a human we can assume she was planning on staying. She stayed, however we know Ziltoid didn't, because we know he'd become a commander in the Ziltoidian military, and we know that before Captain Spectacular died, Ziltoid didn't remember his childhood on earth, and his ties to humanity.

To conclude this... whatever it is...I've discovered a whole lot of hidden lore and possibly uncovered future installments to the Ziltoid series (or not).

I dunno, I'm very autistic and very tired. I wrote this on like 2 or 3 hours of sleep.

Devin Townsend Project Dark Matters 2014 Track Of Choice: March Of The Poozers It's been 6 days since I last posted a record! A bit of a record in itself. I've been busy with @infestfestival and catching up on sleep. Anyway here is the next part of the new Eras IV box set. Dark Matters is the other half of Z2 of which Sky Blue is the other half of that. I know which I prefer. Sky Blue is one of my very favourite @dvntownsend albums. But this is a bit of a magnum opus as Dark Matters has a full cast of voice actors including Chris Jericho as Captain Spectacular. As well as the Universal Choir, a choir made up of fans. It's huge and utterly ridiculous. And that's why I love Dev. He makes some of the most incredible music with the most bat shit of concepts. Musically it's heavy as all hell in some parts of poppy in others but it's always wild and inventive and will keep you on your toes. It's also puerile and and a bit cheesy. Which makes its hilarious. Something for everyone then. Coursers

Okay, this is a lot of headcanons on this, but I have feelings about Coursers in Fallout 4. Please heed the trigger warnings because this is dark.

Coursers are slaves.

They are every bit as slaves as any gen 3s in the Institute, and are, in some very important ways, worse off.

A gen 3 synth in the Institute has a duty, they carry out that duty, they are just one of however many hundreds of synths in the Institute doing the same thing. They are, as far as the humans are concerned, invisible, about as important as the piping in the walls of the electrical wiring. It’s a pretty dreadful way to live, but in a place like the Institute it’s desirable, because you are basically invisible.

The Coursers don’t get that. There are few of them, and they work directly with the SRB. They don’t get to be invisible, they are always, constantly, hideously visible. To a bunch of people who consider them nothing but unthinking tools.

Imagine: A Courser goes out on a mission, the mission goes wrong. The Courser is badly wounded, there is blood everywhere, parts of them are open to the air that shouldn’t and it doesn’t matter how brainwashed they are- they cannot breathe, the pain is too much, they are seeing things they really don’t want to. They are snatched back to the Institute. The Courser gets fixed up, but cannot speak to anyone about what they have seen- because that would be defective. They have just to deal with it and, if it gets too much or trauma is piled on top of trauma until they can’t cope any more, they have their memories erased. 

And just ask Nate how well that works on fixing trauma. 

The Courser has terrors now, irrational and incomprehensible as the thing under Dunwich Borers. Senseless and impossible to understand without context.

Imagine: There are two Coursers. They are both very, very good at their jobs. Two SRB workers get into an argument over which one would win in a fight. They order the Coursers to fight and place bets. There is a pool. Coursers are tough, they are fast, they are strong, they fight for hours until the floor is covered in blood. Eventually a superior turns up and stops the fight. 

The workers sulk off, next time, they’ll be more careful. Z2 was totally going to kill X6, dude! The Coursers go back to barracks, try and mop themselves up, try and avoid those workers again but of course, that’s impossible.

Imagine: There are some scientists the Coursers know to avoid. Of course, they can’t do that forever, they get called by designation and besides, those scientists have favorites. Sometimes, another Courser might step in, hope the scientists in question would go with it and give their fellow a break (because they can’t take much more of this, they can see it in their eyes, and no amount of resets are going to help if it just happened over and over and over and over). The scientists say there’s a mission. Of course there isn’t. Coursers are smart, they know. They are smart. They are strong. They are physically perfect.

They are beautiful.

The scientists tell them to take their clothes off.

The Coursers work in the SRB. There are only a few of them. They stand out in clothes, in demeanor. They cannot hide. They are reset more than all other group of synths put together, and with every reset, their loyalty to the Institute is reinforced. They are unquestionably loyal. They will die for the Institute, follow every order, lay down their lives without question, without hesitation.

And go back every time to the same barracks, which is soundproofed because no amount of resets can stop them screaming in their sleep, break from programming to carry out small, repeated rituals. Z2 touches every wall a certain number of times. X4 breaks down their guns and cleans them, over and over even though the white plastic is blinding and the laser mirrors threaten to burn their hands every time they catch the light. X6 just sits on the edge of his bunk and stares into space, endlessly. He doesn’t speak. He’s not even really here, just- going away, inside himself for a while. They all have a little quirk, or more than one, or maybe they’re not so small any more. But they never talk about it, never suggest a reset.

They try and keep an eye out for each other, angle into taking over duties if one of them looks- bad. Not reset bad, but so badbad they don’t have a word for it. When the trauma and mess is just too big, too much. When they can’t even pretend to be a machine (because you can’t turn people into machines, but you can force them into pretending a pretty convincing facsimile if you abuse them enough), and the scientists are going to notice. They’ll order them reset. And when that doesn’t work it’ll happen again, and again, and again until it’s obvious this unit is defective and they are taken away.

The other Coursers are not sad. And maybe some of them even look forward to it a little bit. It must be quiet, at least, peaceful, all dark and nothing to hurt you. Of course that’s a wrong thought, wasting Institute material. Nothing is wasted in the Institute, they shouldn’t even be considering it. But it- sounds nice.

There’s a little more meat in the Coursers’ food the next day. They eat it anyway.
