Experience: I've been roleplaying since 2001-2002. I was there when the deep magic was written, etc. AIM, YIM, MSN, Gaia, BB Boards, Skype, you name. I've been writing Kar in general/SW verse since 2003, and her BPRD AU since maybe 2005-2006?

Preferred roleplay type: I try to match, novella works but sometimes you just got the brainpower for shitposty one-lines/casual chat RP, which seems to be what scratches my itch more these days. Theme-wise, I'm into the dark humor and cracky stuff more than serious, but that doesn't mean I won't write it.

Pet peeves & dealbreakers:

Breaking Reblog Karma-- SUCH a pet peeve.

Utilizing something that's more of the character's thoughts or internal exposition like it's something the character said.

Constant first meeting threads (that usually go nowhere). I can only handle the "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" or "WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?!" prompts for so long. Please let us hash out rapports and figure it out as we go along, Please let our character already have a framework of a story and then fill it in as we go. It's much more freeing I prommy.

Not adding input to a plot, or not communicating at all when planning. If you're not interested in a plot/ship/etc, just say so, don't just give me vague or one word replies. Enthusiastic consent is not just for the bedroom, and "Yes And" ing is not just for improv theater.

I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting but whatevs.

Best time to write: Usually during slow hours at work, and weekends, mostly nights my time (NY Timezone).

Are you like your muse?: Overall? Nope. We have the same name (though they had the name first before me lmao), and some of the same interests but nah she's a self indulgent whatever I want character.

⚓ When people work in and acknowledge certain Headcanons (provided they are something that's not 4th wall breaking). I appreciate it that people read my word vomits or ficlets. ("I got your favorite thing from the bakery!" vs "I passed Ruth's on the way and picked you up some hamantaschen!" Things like that.)

☺️ I tend to watch/read the source material. I said in my other blog I take inspiration from dark humor, so stuff like Metalocalypse, Venture Bros, Archer, WWDITS, Darkplace, etc. Not sure what brings her out the most since I just go with the flow, since I am no longer forcing myself to do things on here. It'll happen in it's own time.

I fucking love collecting physical media, specifically VHS tapes and cassettes.... One day I wanna start working on grabbing Laserdiscs too !!! I love old physical media sm as like one of my interests AHHHH

Dude honestly, being welcomed back with such open arms. It was real hard to find the lil community that was carved out here but boy am I glad I didn't give up on trying to find it sOBS....

I'm trained & certified in "advanced" first aid, CPR/AED, as well as "wilderness first responder" ! Think of it as EMT-lite lol. I've been consistently re-certified in these areas for nearly 8 years, now. 2. I adopted two kittens from separate litters back in late August / early September of 2023! A little dilute grey/peach tortie girl named (Silly) Goose, and a tuxedo boy named Hammond (usually called Ham / Hambone). They're turning 8 months here soon, and it has been a handful and a half to say the least lol. 3. I was one of those stinkin' theater kids in highschool and I had the opportunity to preform in Edinburgh, Scotland as apart of the largest international theater festival (The Fringe Festival). I would ADORE going back as a visitor some day, it was incredible even just to be a spectator to so much diverse talent and expressions of art & imagination.

☯ : Do you prefer to wing it or to plot things out first when it comes to longer threads?

Malarkey. Baloney, even.

I like to imagine I'm a little bit of both? I'm a compromiser at heart so I'll take to plotting things out or the 'heres a vague idea of what our characters can do now go' kind of writing style. I can really talk a guy's ear off about any plot I find is getting interesting or has a cool idea about it so I might lean slightly more into the plot things out type of roleplayer.

One thing I think I should mention is that I peeve over one sided roleplay. As in the kind of RP where only one player is moving the thread along plotwise. Pls don't make me do all the work lol, I WILL explode and it WILL be ur fault /j

Just a heads up, I'm not talking about anyone specific just a general observation of the community. But I'm saying Meta Knight. It varies by writer of course, but 50% of the time he's written perfectly and the other 50% of the time he's had the shit woobified out of him. I mean hurt comfort war trauma this ball all the way but the way this guy gets written sometimes makes me question if he's ever fought anything much less won.

And as a double hot take I never see Susie (same franchise) written as the corpo girlboss secretary flinging slurs at people trying to stop her company from sucking their planet dry like she was in Robobot. Any character development she may have gotten for Star Allies barely counts imo that was told and never shown and I am choosing violence today.

I don't have a who per se? I have a what: Dark/Absurd comedy like Venture Bros, MTL, Archer, WWDITS, various Britcoms. History, even the fucked up bits. Fucked-up-but-funny is kinda this iterations of Kar's vibe, among other things.

Nope, sadly. The furthest south I've been is Florida, and the furthest north was Toronto for AnimeNorth in 2005.

But shoutout to Wildwood , NJ for being child me's favorite places to go lol.

But, I live in New York, we have so much interesting stuff (as you know). To other followers reading this, I can give you a guide for most of the museums in the area lmao. (And docent AMNH for free)

Honestly there's so much I love!! There's a sense of community that I missed so so dearly after being out of commission for like 4 years from the last time I was up in this shit lol. It's super cozy and it's really cool just. seeing everyone kicking around old and new faces! Plus just seeing how deep some people dive into their muses is so inspiring.... love all this shit jkghsdkj AH
