*This is the third of the four daughters Princess Nymeria had with her first husband Mors Martell. We don’t know her name so I’ve named her Yvenne.

This stuff is going to change in the fanfic post that should drop around September. That one is meant to set Yvenne's lore straight.

To start, I'd like to say that these HCs are in a timeline where Yvenne is the only other familiar in the house next to Guillermo.

Nadja of Antipaxos

¥ As her familiar, Yvenne is relatively nervous when actively serving Nadja. Seeing the way Nadja treats the familiars of others drives her to tread lightly when speaking to Nadja unprompted. Despite this, Nadja has yet to snap as harshly has she does with other familiars.

¥ After finding out that Yvenne fancies a vampire, Nadja and Yvenne both agree that being turned would happen should Yvenne court him successfully

¥ During her free time, Yvenne will sit with Dolly and talk about bugs while tending to the terrarium in her room. There, she keeps invasive species of bugs that show up in the house's garden.

From time to time, Nadja will invite Nadja to join her and the Guide when they go out (or stay in) to have a "girl's night".

Lazlo Cravensworth

¥ Like Guillermo, Lazlo calls Yvenne by a name similar to her own. Rather than "I(yi)-veen" he uses "Evie".

¥ Yvenne's neurodivergence makes her somewhat immune to hypnotism, intriguing Lazlo greatly. Should she not be busy serving Nadja, Lazlo will observe her to learn more about her brain. He has made multiple jokes about dissecting her should she die prematurely.

¥ Though charming, Yvenne feels uneasy around Lazlo when he talks about sexual encounters or expertise.

¥ After the frog experiment, Yvenne puts together a nice enclosure for the frogs to be kept and watched.

Nandor the Relentless

¥ Naturally her favorite of the four, Yvenne is quite fond of Nandor. Though she finds his silliness entertaining, she is deeply saddened by his treatment of Guillermo.

¥ Her and Nandor have a "Back in my day"/"It's time for your meds, grandpa" dynamic.

Colin Robinson

¥ Yvenne will frequently sneak small talks of entomology during conversations to try and get Colin to start info-dumping about the subject. She enjoys hearing him talk about things she has yet to learn. Anything else will put her to sleep.

Guillermo de la Cruz

¥ Being the other familiar, Yvenne feels a strong sense of camaraderie with Guillermo, and will likely take his word before anyone else's.

¥ After Guillermo is turned into a vampire, Yvenne finds out by catching him snacking on raw meat. Though sight made her sick, Yvenne agreed to keep her lips sealed as if nothing happened.

¥ The talking frogs intensely disturb but intrigue Yvenne. The thought of them talking would make her faint.

¥ Post-vampirism Guillermo teaches Yvenne about vampiric combat so she can fill the role should he lose his life to Nandor.

"Thank you." Angar responded, taking the bread and placing it into the bag sling over his shoulder.

He nodded, accepting his apology, though it wasn't needed. "She was always a wild child. We tried to contain her and.. it just didn't work. Perhaps we'll see one another again in Valhalla."

Leidra nodded, "Unless she appears beforehand, that is all we can hope for. Wherever she is, I just hope she is safe. Frigga guide her."

Angar placed a fist to his chest, "Frigga guide her."

Then, at Hiccup's offer, he nodded, "That would be kind of you, young Chief."

As they started walking, he looked around Berk again, at the companionship of dragon and viking. At how they got along, how they compromised with one another.

Angar always beloved that, if she had just stopped being so stubborn, Yvenne would fit well into the tribe.

He was starting to wonder if he was being just as stubborn as well.

As they approached the ship, placing the final bag down, Angar reached up to the leather cord around his neck, a gold pendant with a blood red stone set in the middle. On the reverse was their tribal symbol.

"It belonged to Yvenne, many moons ago." He explained, before placing it gently in Hiccup's hands. "The Bloodstone is unique to our lands. It'll fetch a high price in any market. A gift to you, for your gift to us. And.. if you do come across her.."

Angar took a deep breath, "Tell her we're sorry."

Hiccup stared at the pendant in his hands, a little shocked that they would give him something so sentimental. "I...this, this isn't..." He couldn't accept it, but it would have been wrong to refuse a gift given from one chief to another. He'd only given them some supplies, and a place to spend the night. Have other chiefs not been so kind?

Looking up at the two of them, he nodded solemnly. "Thank you. I know this must mean a lot to you... despite the circumstances, it has been an honor to meet you both."

At Angar's request, Hiccup gave a hesitant nod. "You have my word, I will pass along your message, if I ever do find her."

Maybe there was hope yet, but it all depended on Mediae, if he was alright with it. Hiccup wouldn't sell the pendant, he planned to return it to its rightful owner, if he'll have it.

"I wish you both a safe journey, and perhaps someday, under better circumstances, you may visit Berk again."

✦ Sylvain Jose Gautier

Yvenne is difficult to impress? Sylvain will take that as a challenge. His less-than-noble motivations for flirting aside, it always catches his attention when people don’t respond favorably to him. Depending on how much he appreciates their presence, he’ll make it a point to try and get on their good side. He’ll try grand gestures as well as small, subtle ones. It starts off really insincere at first, but the more he gets to know Yvenne as a person the more genuine it is. He’s quick to pick up little details and he’ll keep those in mind whenever he wants to just do something nice or show a bit of affection. It becomes his goal to impress her every once and a while. He is definitely the type to pick up little gifts here and there and leave them for her by her room or at her desk.

Sylvain’s the type to give it to her straight if she ends up going overboard with her loyalty to the empire. Sure, Sylvain’s loyal to Dimitri and the kingdom, but he’s not going to just blindly excuse everything that ends up happening. He knows Yvenne is smart and can think for herself, so it’s a bit frustrating to him when it feels like she’s not thinking critically about the person or cause she’s claiming loyalty to. And don’t get him wrong, he’s not saying that she shouldn’t be loyal to Edelgard, but he’d prefer it if her motivations were thoughtful and measured. He’d want her to tell him if he was going too far with something.

Early on, it’s very likely that Sylvain would end up on the receiving end of Yvenne’s quick temper, both intentionally and unintentionally. He likes to tease and sometimes he’s a bit too on-the-nose. On rare occasions, he’s even a little mean-spirited (much more likely to happen when they don’t know each other well). He’s quick to back off and apologize, though how sincere that apology is really depends on the situation and their current relationship. His lackadaisical disposition may rub her the wrong way at first, too, before they establish some sort of common ground between them.

Yvenne would likely be impressed with how intelligent Sylvain is. One thing any INTJ can appreciate is someone who can hold their own intellectually. Of course, it may take a bit of time for her to realize this and really get to see that side of Sylvain. After all, he keeps some of his cards close to his chest and doesn’t let just anyone get close to him. Yvenne is likely to find out how smart he really is when he makes some offhand comment about their classwork, or when he keeps winning against her in board games they play together in their down time.

Sylvain appreciates that she has good leadership qualities. Most people aren’t suited for being a leader, even if they try to claim that type of position. She isn’t the type to boast about it, either; she’s confident in her abilities and she’ll let her actions speak for her. That type of skillset and attitude is such a boon during wartime. Sylvain can definitely rally people, but he prefers not to have the burden of leadership placed on his shoulders. Still, any leadership endeavor that Yvenne might want to tackle, he’d be more than willing to support her in any way she needs.

His bias against the Crest-seeking noble woman aside, once he knows what Yvenne’s stance on Crests are, Sylvain is immediately sympathetic to any struggles Yvenne may have faced being born without a Crest - if he gets to be privy to any information from her past, that is. It hits a little close to home for him, honestly, what with Miklan’s whole situation. As much as he hates the idea of someone he cares about getting shitty treatment just for having or not having a Crest, he’s glad that Yvenne isn’t as likely to follow and uphold the current Crest hierarchy as it is.

On hot days, Yvenne and Sylvain are both the type to stow away from the sun and/or try to find things to do that won’t give them heatstroke. Sylvain’s just more used to cooler weather, and Yvenne detests how uncomfortable hot days can be. If swimming is an option, Sylvain is definitely suggesting that - of course, Yvenne will not be spared from some stupid flirty comment of his, but it is what it is. (He’s also the type to be just careless enough to get moderately sunburned, and he’ll complain about it a lot. Unfortunately for him, Yvenne is not the type to baby him. Tough love.) However, if Yvenne prefers to stay indoors to stay cool, he’d be more than happy to hang out with her and find something low-energy to do.

He’s baffled that she’s related to both Hubert and Hanneman, and yet it makes so much sense. He can definitely see the similarities between her and her two relatives, and it makes the contrasts that much funnier. Once he learns of this juicy little tidbit of information, he’s definitely curious whenever he sees her interacting with them at Garreg Mach. Hubert and Hanneman are both such distinct (weird, in Sylvain’s frank opinion) characters that he wants to see how someone who they consider family treats them. It won’t make him want to get close to either of them, though, so this all stops at sheer curiosity to him.

He thinks Yvenne’s embroidery hobby is really cute. She’s a pretty stern and serious person on the outside, and even if she acts sweeter around him once they’re together, she’s still pretty no nonsense a lot of the time. So, he thinks it’s cute that she has such a delicate and careful hobby. If she does any sort of embroidery on a handkerchief or something similar as a gift for him, he would keep it with him always! It’s a really nice tangible reminder of how much she does for him - anytime he takes it out, he’s filled with so much appreciation and affection for her. And if someone notices and asks him about it, he is more than willing to boast about it (if Yvenne’s the type to get embarrassed about something like that, then that’s too bad for her, LOL).

At the words, his heart stopped, feeling partially frozen.

"... what..?" He whispered, suddenly looking terrified and small.

Gothi stepped close to him, resting a hand on his arm, trying to comfort him.

"Yvenne. They were looking for Yvenne, weren't they? Oh gods.."

Gothi tightened her grip on the boy, feeling him start to panic.

Hiccup hadn't told them. Hiccup hadn't said anything. As long as.. as long as he hid.. he'd be safe.

As if on cue, Scavenger came hurtling up the stairs, squawking anxiously. Upon seeing Mediae, he seemed to calm, moving close to him. Mediae in turn put a hand on Scavenger's snout, breathing quickly.

Gothi turned away, writing. 'Mediae will stay up with me. I'll look after him.'

Mediae looked up at Hiccup, fear on his face, voice shaking, "I- war? Hiccup- I can't do that to you. War, over me- I- But I don't want to go- go back- I can't-"

Gothi put a hand back on his arm, forcing him to ground, despite his shaking body.

Hiccup nodded, maintaining his eye contact with Mediae. "Yeah, they were."

Hiccup also placed a hand on Mediae's shoulder, hoping to help him calm down. "As long as you and Scavenger stay hidden, we should be okay. Alright? I'm not going to turn you in, you're safe here. Listen, I have to go prepare a place for them to stay tonight, on the other side of the village, help them resupply, and then they should sail away."

Reading Gothi's words, he looked at her gratefully. "Thank you, Gothi." Turning back to Mediae, he continued. "Gothi says you can stay here, she'll look after you. It'll be fine. Just breathe, okay?"

i am. really really really proud of how far my art has come. i think the best way i can show this is this:

Before a few days ago, this was the last time I had attempted a head on- semi-realistic portrait.

and this is now

it's just- night and day. And I was so proud of the first one, too! But I mean, look! They have a nose now! And while it is still stylized, the proportions make much more sense! Plus the depth of color, and the more detailed shading? It is a major improvement for me.

The difference? Two and a half years. Amelia there was early 2019 - which, if I'm being honest, feels like yesterday still.
