I've been thinking about writing a fic or making a comic of this or something but I've been so tired lately that it's very hard to make content so I'm just gonna post this idea here and hope somebody else makes it lol. And if not at least I can look back at this post and remember it for later.

cw: I'm gonna be talking about ptsd and trauma and specifically about having my breathing restricted and having that memory triggered so if that's not for you just scroll

Whenever I get sick, and specifically whenever I get congested it can trigger me because it's a restriction of my breathing. My abuser assaulted me and restricted my breathing in various ways, covering my mouth and nose, choking me, etc and I started thinking about that in terms of Ford. Like imagining if one day him and the kids all got the flu or a cold or something and Stan somehow had it less worse and he just comes in to Ford having a full blown panic attack because he can't breath.

And logically you know, and he would know, and most people know when they're being triggered that they're safe. That the situation they're in is not the same as the one they were being harmed in. That their abuser is not present. But your fight or flight instincts don't know that. All they know is that they're supposed to keep you safe and the situation you're in feels close enough to an unsafe one that they're deciding to freak out.

Idk. Maybe this seems like too personal of an idea but also I'm sharing it with people not because it no longer harms me, or effects me but because I used to feel like it was really embarrassing and now it's just like- I'm trying to relate to a comfort character idk. And also if anyone else has a similar experience, ya'll ain't alone.

Anyways comfort ensues and then maybe Ford opens up about it or maybe he doesn't. And they drink some hot cocoa together or smth and get Ford decongested so his body calms down and then they can hug. Idk i think it'd be nice.
