In eye in the sky are there any former jl or yj outside of Duke and the Batfam that are toeing the line of being part if the regime and joining the resistance?
Whos just there because they're afraid of what Kal would do if they weren't there?
I was hinting at it a little in the last two chapters or so, but Barry is definitely there for that reason. Arthur clearly doesn't believe in Kal and Diana's vision but he's smart enough not to go against them (Atlantis can't win a war against the Regime; he knows this).
Ollie and Dinah toed that line, and it went very, very poorly. Kon is with Tim, as we'll see in the next few chapters. Wally is probably working with Barry, or hidden by Barry who's trying to protect him from the Regime. I think Roy is with the resistance -- maybe he went with Ollie when he "defected."
Most of YJ have JL connections, so they tend to go where their mentor goes, for better or worse. And most of the JL members with mentees won't risk going against Kal and Diana unless they're very, very fucking sure their kid won't be at risk. Because they saw what happened to Bruce.

anyways, still deeply invested into my read of Ganondorf being an immense bully to children partially because, in a way, he rationalizes that putting children through the grinder is baaaasically kind of helping them to grow up faster, in a throwing you into the river to teach you how to swim kind of way, and if they can't handle the grinder, they were weak and it's on them and they can either suck it up and try harder, or get wrecked and die
and obviously that says absolutely nothing about how his own upbringing may have been handled, right twinrova, nor anything about how he may have buried a profound bitterness about the fact he was never really allowed a childhood of his own, and it's not fair others, especially hylians, get to spend their own carefree.
of course not.

I do think. When you are considering how tragic Elphaba's fate is in the musical. You gotta weigh in the fact she is not even thirty.
Like, the play is very, very clearly implying Elphaba left. She went somewhere that is not Oz. You can headcanon she is now a fugitive in Oz itself, but I think that very clearly is not the vibe the musical was going for, so I will take it as face value and accept this: Elphaba left. She's somewhere else. She's alone (with Fiyero) in a new country.
And she's not even thirty yet!
That is still the REST OF HER LIFE to do worthy and good things, to meet new people and put down roots, somewhere. Anywhere. There is no reason to assume her life continued to suck, forever, wherever she ends up. Yes, it is tragic. But she is not dead. So it is not, actually, an ending.

I'm not gonna lie: the girlbossification of Robin Hood and the fact that they put her in medieval Korea as a nobleman's widow in confinement is so intriguing to me

DC spent so much time oversexualizing a young tomboy that people are glad she looks like a girl next door character, and that's not a good thing.
You can literally timeline her losing character traits and becoming another DC blonde.
Tumblr media
If you compare her first looks with her modern design you have two different characters:

Hell, Cassie's best look in years comes from the Earth-1 continuity, and its not even canon.

I know im just ranting at this point, but it's been bugging me for years, and I dont get why no one else seems to see it like I do.

The list of banned young adult (YA) books by Black authors above, was retrieved from PEN America’s Index of School Book Bans (July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022). In addition to the book titles and authors, the document lists the state, district, type of ban, date of challenge/removal, and origin of challenge. The document is being updated periodically, so check for new books added. Visit the PEN America link above for a detailed definition of a school book ban.

while i do think the "how is jotaro almost 40 in stone ocean yet doesn't have a wrinkle in sight" jokes are funny, i also think we need to keep trying to retire the idea that 40 is old
