don't mind me i'm just thinking about how gradually physical touch becomes a more common love language between elias and miguel- [fuck it i'm making their ship name inkfang bc it fits]

when they first start really seeing each other miguel doesn't really like physical touch because it's been forever since he's been in a proper relationship and although physical touch is elias's primary love language he understands and lets them take it slow.

so the first couple months of their real relationship, the love languages primarily used are words of affirmation and gift giving.

but, gradually, as they get more comfortable with each other, more physical touch starts happening.

it starts small, like pinky holding, brushing against each other's shoulders and arms to get the other's attention, things like that.

eventually it evolves into full on hand holding while in public - not really at the society, but when they're on dates. especially in nautabu york [elias's new york] bc it's prettier and more walkable over there.

while their PDA is still very lowkey besides the occasional hand squeeze n' such, when they're alone it's a completely different story. both of them are so goddamn touch starved, but especially miguel. he was actually the one to initiate their first real cuddle session together - by putting his head on elias's shoulder during a movie night.

eventually it evolved to the two of them absolutely melting in each other's arms after long days. usually elias gets home first because he has to pick petra up from preschool and look after her for a bit before miguel eventually portals to their shared nautabu york apartment after clocking at the HQ.

it is a nightly ritual after dinner for all of them to cuddle up on the couch together and just talk about their days [it usually transpires with petra rambling bc she's a five-year-old and it's incredibly endearing for both of her dads]

whenever they go to sleep, it very much varies of how they're positioned, but now they're almost always touching the other. whether it be spooning, the classic chest as a pillow [miguel's usually on the receiving end of that for obvious reasons], or simply draping an arm over the other to make sure they're there.

whenever you and satoru have an argument, he holds your hand and he won’t let go until he’s certain you’re not mad anymore. you’re telling him off because he forgot to unpack the dishwasher again, and he knows that’s his fault and you have a right to be mad but he hates when you’re mad and even worse when you’re mad at him, so he does the first thing that comes to mind and laces your hands together. now you can’t leave and be mad at him alone, you have to be mad at him while he’s connected to you and satoru has learned that that far reduces the amount of time you spend mad at him. getting upset because he led you two in the wrong direction? holding hands until you’ve cooled down. upset with him for being reckless mid-fight? he drops his infinity just to be close to you, holds your hand and tells you the curse can wait, he needs your forgiveness more. mad at him because he forgot something important on his way home? you’re holding hands until you forgive him—which could be all the way until you go to bed, or dragging you by your connected hands with him to the store to pick up what was forgotten. you get irritated with him in public? he’s quick to hold your hands and beg for kisses. sometimes the first years see you steaming and satoru following you like a lovesick puppy, his leash being your laced fingers and megumi just sighs and explain to yuuji and nobara that, “they’re fighting. this is their get along tactic, just leave them be.”

i'm making myself laugh thinking about this but I wholeheartedly believe madame morrible absolutely HATES the thought of glinda and elphaba being together like the mere mention of gelphie would probably send her into immediate cardiac arrest and it's not even because she's homophobic or anything I just fully believe she dislikes glinda so so much she's just like this is absolutely NOT happening in my house.

glinda and elphaba are having their gay ass moment and she's like "I sense a disturbance in the force; the wind is telling me those fucking lesbians are at it again."

i hate to say it because i'm neurodivergent and a chronic-pain-haver but like... sometimes stuff is going to be hard and that's okay.

it's okay if you don't understand something the first few times it's explained to you. it's okay if you have to google every word in a sentence. it's okay if you need to spend a few hours learning the context behind a complicated situation. it's okay if you need to read something, think about it, and then come back to re-read it.

i get it. giving up is easier, and we are all broken down and also broke as hell. nobody has the time, nobody has the fucking energy. that is how they win, though. that is why you feel this way. it is so much easier, and that is why you must resist the impetus to shut down. fight through the desire you've been taught to "tl;dr".

embrace when a book is confusing for you. accept not all media will be transparent and glittery and in the genre you love. question why you need everything to be lily-white and soft. i get it. i also sometimes choose the escapism, the fantasy-romance. there's no shame in that. but every day i still try to make myself think about something, to actually process and challenge myself. it is hard, often, because of my neurodivergence. but i fight that urge, because i think it's fucking important.

especially right now. the more they convince you not to think, the easier it will be to feed you misinformation. the more we accept a message without criticism, the more power they will have over that message. the more you choose convenience, the more they will make propaganda convenient to you.
