i am spinning this video in my head and vibrating with spartan Ingo thoughts
youtube
It was never explicitly stated to the twins, but Ingo got chosen to be Noble 6 BECAUSE of Emmet. Because he could follow Emmet's plans and commands without arguing unless it was necessary. Because he and Emmet spent so much time training together, to improve their skills and sparring with others to one up each other, that he was constant learning and improving. Because if he thought Emmet would survive, Ingo would do ANYTHING to ensure it.
Spartan Emmet, on the other hand, is more selfish. He has to be the one in charge. He needs to be learning, improving, always because he needs to keep Ingo safe. Saving civilians is not his priority- Ingo is. If it came down to it and Spartan Emmet was required to choose between something and Ingo, he would choose Ingo every time. The world could burn and as long as he had Ingo by his side he could get through it. Being selfish isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's definitely not good when you want a team player.
So they started with Ingo, told him the solo mission he'd be going on needed to be done without Emmet. Said he needed to start working with other people, and it was a little escort mission so it was fine. He didn't like it, and was anxious to not have Emmet at his back, but it went fine and he came back safe.
And when he was on Reach, looking out through a hole in the wall of a broken tower in a destroyed city, he realized this. He realized following Emmet through training, following orders, had led him to here. To being among a team of strangers bonded by a world ending. And he didn't hate it. Not at all. Because Emmet would sacrifice the world for Ingo, but Ingo had always kept silent about how he'd sacrifice himself for his brother. And he knew, something in his gut told him, that sacrificing himself was going to be the only way to keep Emmet alive.
#Halo submas#submas#subway boss Ingo#subway boss Emmet#spartan Ingo#Spartan Emmet#I think the video is melodramatically narrated but it also highlights part of why I love reach#You're not being smacked over the head with characters#They are just part of the background. Part of the immersion.#Reach falls so quickly you'd never have time to get to know them#you find out little things about them but not their histories or backstories#you don't NEED to know that stuff#Relating it back to the halo au- Emmet would have wanted to know#He'd have wanted to know skills and histories and missions completed and failed#He would want to know the best way of getting back to Ingo#Ingo wouldn't pry bc he wouldn't want to reveal his own history anyway#maybe if he'd known them longer it would've happened naturally but it didn't#Anyway here I am reach babbling#and I will say that yes- part of Ingo DID die on reach that last day#But not all of Ingo! Not Ingo himself!#Youtube

@beatingheart-bride
Randall felt his stomach flip over when he saw just how wide her eyes were, denoting the anxiety chewing her up inside, nagging her, making her worry for the safety of her career, which seemed right on the cusp of blossoming...it made him desperately want to reach out and take her hand in his, to gently pat it in an effort to comfort her, the way heâd seen some wealthy patrons do so to their wives...
âŠbut he resisted that urge (certain his cold, bony hands would do nothing to put her at ease), instead offering her what he hoped was a soothing smile as he said, âD-Donât worry, Emily, i-itâll be alright...I have a very good feeling about your auspicious debut-I have a feeling that, as soon as you step out onto that stage and make your grand debut as Elissa...La Constance is going to be the furthest thing from everyoneâs minds.â
Emily was a shoe-in for the role: The role called for regality, yes, confidence, yes, but it also called for more than that. It called for a variety of emotions beyond that-longing, pensiveness, determination, passion...all emotions La Constance couldnât muster for the life of her. She was convinced that just strutting around in her regal finery, trilling over the lines she hardly bothered to learn qualified as performing, and although she coasted just fine on this ability, it was time for someone new. It was time for someone who could truly bring the Queen to life...and that person was Emily. And he knew in his heart of hearts that, as soon as the audience heard and saw her for the first time, they would forget all about La Constance, and would be singing her praises as soon as the curtains drew to a close.
#((see i think constance's lack of ambiguity is what dooms her as a character! there's no room for interpretation))#((which makes her stick out like a sore thumb against the rest of the mansion! one of the things that i really like about the mansion))#((is how open to interpretation it is! there's nothing concrete there; you're free to just dream up whatever you'd like-and the fans have!))#((everyone's got their own interpretation of the mansion and its denizens and none of them are wrong! it's completely open-ended))#((and i find that a lot of fun! sure i like the more story-centric; more concrete 'phantom manor' but i just really do enjoy))#((how open the u.s. mansions are to the rider's imagination! so constance seems REALLY out of place))#((next to the others! she has a full canon name; a backstory; there's very little wiggle room in terms of interpretation))#((so unlike the original bride you can't come up with your own characterization/name/history! it just sucks the fun out of it all!))#((and she really is just annoying as hell; like if you got stuck next to the bride; you wanted to sink down in your doombuggy))#((because she's just THAT frightening; with constance; you just want the ride to continue just so you don't have to listen to her!))#outofhatboxes#beatingheart-bride#V:Phantasm of the Mansion

chicken scratch
pairing: carmen 'carmy' berzatto x reader rating: t (for now) length: 1,028 words content: mild cursing summary: you've never met your neighbour, but you've received plenty of their mail and now, a large package. of all the stories you made up in your head about who this 'carmen berzatto' could be, the real thing might just be your new favourite. a/n: brain rot means a middle of the night word dump. will likely be the first of many little stories about your next door neighbour, carmen, because that dynamic lives in my mind rent free. fluff for now, but we all know what that means (it means it'll definitely become nsfw later, sooner probably). read part two link to ao3 here!
The first letter was a mistake, the second one was a coincidence. The third one was not a big deal and the fourth was only a little more than a nuisance. But when a much larger package thudded against your front door at the ass crack of dawn, the recipient clearly written across the top of the cardboard box as your neighbour⊠well, that was just flat out annoying at this point. You hadn't even known deliveries made their rounds so early in the day and as big as the box was, when you lifted it to carry next door, it weighed lighter than a feather.
The pile of letters that accidentally found their way to your apartment were usually slipped through the small mailbox of your neighbour's, sometimes under the door. You'd thought about dropping the package and simply going about your day, but curiosity got the better of you as your knuckles rapped against the door and waited instead.
What could a Carmen Berzatto have possibly required to be delivered at this time?
In the time you've lived in the building, there'd been very few run-ins with other tenants. Not that you'd ever complain, perfectly content with your own company. You made friends with one elderly lady who always offered you some of her freshly baked bread, and in return you picked her up flowers and some extra produce on your farmer's market runs. The landlord wasn't your friend, but he wasn't your enemy either, and somehow you'd convinced him to let you paint your bathroom your favourite colour with little to no resistance. But your next door neighbour remained a mystery, one you've conjured up about a dozen different backstories and personalities for.
Carmen Berzatto, notorious criminal, hiding out in a tiny Chicago apartment. Carmen Berzatto, hundred-year-old vampire, who might either burn in the sun or look like they'd walked through a glitter bomb. Carmen Berzatto, part time Chicagoan, who actually doesn't live here anymore and maybe there's a squatter inside instead. Carmen Berzatto, the tax evader, because why else would they have so much goddamn mail being sent to them?
You'd been lost in the web of made-up histories for your neighbour when the door swung open to reveal said neighbour, and it slowly dawned on you that there wasn't a single story where you imagined Carmen Berzatto to look like that.
Piercing, wide blue eyes and a head of shaggy brown tufts that made you want to tangle your fingers through them, especially that small curl dangling just above his forehead.
"Hi." His greeting was laced with mild confusion that seemed immediately alleviated when his attention dropped to the box in your hands. "Oh."
"Hi," you blurted out, lifting the package, "got another one for you."
"IâI'm sorry aboutâ about, uh, about all of that. It won't happen again."
"Won't it?" You were mostly teasing now. Although you were jolted awake by the sound of it thrashing against your door, and although you were rather peeved about getting up before you wanted to, you couldn't find it in yourself to be irritated anymore.
Carmen reached out to take the box from you, giving it a small shake with what you thought was a ghost of a smile before he set it down to the side somewhere you couldn't see. "It won't. I'm sorry." The flirt of his tongue along his lips brought your gaze toward it before you met his eyes again.
Those stunning icy blues.
"It's okay, nothing to be sorry for."
"I must've really fucked up on theâ the uh, apartment number."
"What?"
"The apartment number."
"Yeah," you looked at him a bit dumbfounded, gaze darting to the door where the number and letter were, "what about it?"
"Iâ"
"You don't know your apartment number?"
"My writing's shit."
Both of you seemed to blink in unison, another lick of Carmen's lips which you mirrored before a stupid smile curled your lips. "Oh."
"Not a good excuse, I know." He nodded, jaw working as he turned his head to the metal on the door, a short and deep chuckle sounding from him. "Again, Iâ"
"Not sorry," you shook your head, "just chicken scratch."
For a moment, Carmen stared at you, and if it wasn't bad enough to have those too-blue eyes simply looking at you, to find them nearly boring holes as they danced between your eyes and across your face made you want to evaporate. Made you wish the ground would open up and swallow you hole. Made you want to drown in the depths of the ocean blues that were his irises.
"Just chicken scratch," he murmured after a beat of silence and what was once a ghost of a smile was definitely something now, the corner of his mouth lifting enough to wrinkle the corner of his eye. Enough to show you the dimple in his cheek. "Thanks forâ for bringing the package."
"Yeah." And the smile unfurling on your lips was nothing short of genuine. "You're welcome, Carmen."
"Just, uh, just Carm is good. Carmy."
"Okay."
Another beat passed where you thought you might have been rendered frozen by one of your favourite shades of blue, glued to the floor through hypnosis, until a sound down the hall caught your ear and you nodded at Carmen. Turning on your heel, you took the first step back to your apartment, then another, and another.
And it wasn't until you had your hand stretched out to grab for your doorknob when you heard his voice echo from where you'd came. "See you around?"
"Yeah."
"Okay."
The moment hung in the air on a thin thread, the both of you sharing furtive and hidden smiles before his door closed and yours opened.
Carmen Berzatto, not a notorious criminal (to your knowledge) or a hundred-year-old vampire (yet). Nor was he a part-time Chicagoan (not with that accent) or a tax evader (maybe). None of the ideas you had floating in your mind about your neighbour even came close to the real thing.
Carmen Berzatto, curly-haired blue-eyed boy-next-door with chicken scratch for writing and a fleeting dimple you wanted to see again.

Manic Robotic Dream Girl
IZ Days of Christmas 2023: Day 4 - Choi Yena
IZ*ONE's Choi Yena x Male Reader Smut
8,311 words
Neon lights dance like flames around you. Thereâs no need to touch them when youâre already burning. Burning with something thatâs not a fever but a kind of pain that never goes away.Â
Sweat pricks the sides of your face and youâre aware of the blots of perspiration running down your jawline. Nights at the Rogue are often hot, but then they surprise you with a sudden burst of windiness, so you never bother to take your coat off. Whatever and wherever, youâll always be here yet youâve not once been able to predict the temperature.
Thatâs what happened when WAKE12 took over.Â
Apparently, they decide if people are under the weather by controlling it by them-fucking-selves. Kwon feeling shitty? Looks like rain then. Maybe sheâs feeling happy? Alright, let the clouds find balance. Angry? Take a fucking hailstorm. What a privilege, one bigger than the lives of the rich men in the North. But everyone forgets about that fact after she sends out minimal almsâcanned goods, a Bible, something. Then itâs back to President Kwon is the best! President Kwon can never fail us! Presidentâ
âVodka.â
âSame as yesterday?â asks Yuri, smiling a little bit.Â
âSame as yesterday.â For a hologram, Yuri can be quite the social butterfly.Â
Online wallets are all the rage nowadays. The AI voice in your head offers you said option to pay, and you can hear your balance privately spoken. Somehow your brow prevents from creasing as you hear it. You lack funds but somehow have a few extra bucks to drink.Â
Choose that. You want to save your Wizes for other things. Lock eyes with Yuri and your balance goes down. Youâve paid.Â
Online and digital wallets modified with embedded signals and readers were in use before you were even born. Of course, there were already such payment options in the twenty-first century, but how WAKE12 changed everything, not just ordering options with telepathic payment, can easily be read in a sixth grade history textbook.Â
In October of the year 2918, Kwon Eunbi rose in the ranks as a scientist and soldier for Kang Hyewon, former president, and ended up working her way into dictatorship. The textbooks and classrooms teach that she proposed a law to the court and got herself a position for her wit and intelligence. But early first accounts challenge that, saying that she caught the eye of Kang and had a sexual relationship with her. WAKE12 branded this as propaganda that sullies the name of not only the dictator but the one of the late president, who died mysteriously before Kwon rose to power.
Massive backstory for cashless payment, but you know thereâs more to it than the government would like to let on. What happened to Kang? What made Kwon so evil the moment she sat in her presidential throne?
âThank you, sir.â Holograms all have different voices; Yuriâs sounds like sheâs singing. At least the bartender slash boss hired her instead of those with monotone, emotionless ones. Itâs cheaper to have hologram workers than humans anyway. Less money, less emotional labor, less of feeling like a normal person.
A beggar curled up below the counter holds his hand out. Not an uncommon sight in the Auster, but itâs a pity to see. The world has advanced with its telepathic wallets and 3D holograms yet there will always be individuals who havenât caught up with time. While the North Rogue leads worldly lifetimes, the Auster is a home for the rejects. The poorest of the poor. The somewhere-in-the-middles. It can never be truly a perfect world if advancement doesnât include everyone.
Give him a Wize. Back then, that would have been worth a hundred or so dollars, a currency long gone. Not that youâd know of it; WAKE12 claimed leadership way before you were born so the cheap value of the coin studded with the bust of Kwon Eunbi is all youâre accustomed to.Â
Take your drink and thank Yuri.Â
The cobblestone is rough beneath your feet. You take your seat at your usual table. Float your fingers around your shotglass. Pour the contents down your chapped mouth almost all in one go. Anything to feel something. Anything to feel anything.Â
Youâre not an alcoholic by any means, though thatâs certainly up for debate. But thereâs a need for the liquid that rages more than the need for oxygen (the fucking shortage of it) or food (the fucking expense of it). How else could you be less numb? Youâre welcome to every feeling at this stage, just not this empty neutrality that slumbers your senses.
Pain? Your throat seizes up when you drink and brings tears to your eyes, so there's that.Â
Happiness? Hm, none. Youâre barely smiling. Youâve no family, little friends, and no partner for the last few years. Thereâs nothing to be happy about.
Anger? The displays of people fined harshly for their crimes on the big as life advertising screens stir some defiance in you. WAKE12 doesnât take kindly to hacktivists and young coders dabbling in creating their own AIs. You have your own anti-government opinions, but whatâs a human mind against an artificial one? Plus, and probably a less serious reason (tell that to the thousands who flock to the hospitals because of asthma), the air is almost always polluted here in the Rogue. Itâs dirtied by car smoke and factory remains. Youâd think that robots taking over the labs would improve it. Perhaps they werenât programmed that way.Â
Loneliness?
You look around. See the glitching phantoms of new world technology make the drinks breezily. Watch the light-studded train filled with commuters from the Auster. Kwon Eunbi managed to build an underside track for additional trains to run and still the commutersâyoung students, old grandparents, not young but not old workers whose jobs belong to WAKE12âwear the same tired look you saw yesterday. All you could hear are buzzes and uncanny valley voices from holograms.
The second chair paired with your table is empty. Youâre suddenly lucid to the fact that itâll always be like this. These nights of drinking and walking in the Auster Rogue will be endless, and just the same, youâll be endlessly alone.
Sometimes mortality could be so depressing.
So depressing that it makes it all so meaningless.
A man stumbles over to the outside bar, breaking your thoughtless reverie. His clothes are as black as the night you spend but you can see blood on the fabric. The skyscrapers provide enough light for you to see his red face from anxious internal and worrying external blood. The pleading look grips his expression like a malfunctioning robotâs limb.Â
Heâs looking back as if afraid of what might be there. The rain-soaked road is tread on roughly by his shaking knees as he crawls his way to the bar. âPlease, help me!â
âWarning,â comes the voice in your head, and you know the other visitors hear it, too, âa criminal of the state is in your proximity. Proceed with caution.â
WAKE12 always keeps an eye on those who threaten them. They have goons everywhere. The kindly grandfather down the street could be a veteran waiting for the chance of a medal. They have ears everywhere as well. Undercover cops stay in both crowded and clear spaces to identify possible threats. When it all comes down to it, youâre not safe in your own head at all. The implants can detect when you dream up something terrible. Thatâs how millions lose their reputation. Their jobs. Their families.
Their lives.
He staggers to the counter, crashing glass that shards his palms, and lets out this wail youâd hear from an abused pup. âPlease,â he croaks. âDonât listen to them. I just need somewhere to hide. I did nothing wrong, nothing!â
The implanted voice in your brain says otherwise. Everyone was given one when the Cyber Age came. Thatâs what makes a tiny difference in seeing whoâs human and whoâs not: the tiny, diamond scar below their hairline from the operation. Close inspection canât always be done, however. Nowadays, too many of these robots and holograms pass the Turing test. You can never truly trust someone.
âOffenses include: playing the role of an accomplice in theft of government data, distribution of terrorist propagandaââ
âGet the fuck out!â says the bartender, having burst out from the back. As a longtime visitor, you havenât seen him this angry, but you know it stems from fear. No one wants to associate with a criminal. No one wants the association to lead to arrest and the arrest lead to god knows what. Hundreds of people go missing after theyâre taken under custody. What Kwon does to them, you donât know. âLeave or Iâll call the cops!â
Like you said, they lurk everywhere. Youâre surprised they havenât caught up to him.
The bloodied man shakes his head, like please, please, someone believe me. âNo, Iâm not a criminal! Listen to me, please, I donât have enough time! They just wannaâcut downâÂ
Rapid footsteps. Sigh and put your glass down. There they are.
The man reaches for him, but the bartender shoves the whole table into his face. He falls back on the ground and cries out for help that never comes. Men and women wearing tight black uniforms and vests pull him up. Their lit helmets that opposingly disallow a view of their faces make them look emotionless. Like robots.
Huh.
While resting your head against the metal chair, you listen to the struggling shuffles of the police and criminal, and see the glitching robots walking down the road. No real emotion, no real living.
He scratches and screams and sobs, but that doesnât matter to them. They pull him along the rocky cement and recite his nonexistent rights to him. Thereâs the right to remain silent (heâs screaming), the right to an attorney (nobody in the Auster can afford a good lawyer much less an honest one), and the right to live freely if found innocent of the crime (someone getting convicted happens more often than being released).
Besides, it canât be called living when itâs in a place so completely devoid of any humanity.
âIn more ways than one,â you say. Fuck it, youâll drink to that.
-
Like always, you take more than you should. You believe by now youâve built some kind of immunity. Thatâs what they all think, you remind yourself, before an inevitable death that buries them in the ground one bricked shot at a time. You swear youâre not dizzy at all or feeling the acid build to your throat, so the sight gathering just a little away from you is real.Â
Stare at your glass. Space out if not for what you see: behind it, a shapely form of a woman in purple. The blue and violet lights make it difficult for you to distinguish it from her clothes so she actually looks naked. That shocks you more than the arrest. Youâre sure sheâs got a little modesty in her because why else is she making her way to a table?
Your table?
Itâs like she teleported when sheâs suddenly seated before you, filling the chair thatâs been empty for the last more or so years. You donât even get the chance to look up at the right time, but the moment you do, you think keeping your eyes on your glass wouldâve been better for the sake of your heart.
YENA.
Her name appears in your mind and she hasnât even introduced herself. But itâs right there, emblazoned in lights in all capitalized four letters: YENA. This girl is Yena. And this girlâthis fucking guilty pleasure of a girlâis gorgeous.
The ends of her hair are tinged with blonde, and itâs hard not to give attention to that with how her locks are gathered into twin tails. She smoothes them before looking at you quite seriously, like sheâs about to propose a challenge youâd lose.
Blue shining eyes. Thereâs something odd about the way they twinkle below her bangsâalmost like something not human.Â
Yena dances her fingers around her jawline, elbow resting on the table, and tilts her pretty face. Lets her fingers play with her lips that are made for things the Austerâs known for providing (she canât be from here though; those crocheted coordinates look costly). Thatâs how you notice that fine feature. Naturally thick and casually jutted out in a distinctive pout, your eyes are glued to them. Canât take your prolonged stare away if someone helped you.Â
âAre you waiting for me to start talking?â Yena asks. Sheâs not angry, just amusedâher voice is smooth and clear, with a tiny pitch that makes her all the more cute.Â
You shake your head. âWas just trying to figure something out.âÂ
âAnd that is?â
âA lot of things,â you state. Things youâd keep a secret forever, lest you spill them out to a girl all for the payment of being beautiful. âBut Iâm not sure pretty girls like you would want to know.â
You try to keep your curious peering at her normal, but itâs difficult when she just attracts attention. Sheâs a glowing lightbulb in a flutter of moths. Yena doesnât flicker weakly; she shines, and itâs honestly why everyone else is âsubtlyâ looking at her, this gorgeous stranger who came in and somehow chose the alcoholic who came from places more rock bottom than the Auster.
She laughs. Itâs soberingâyou think youâll get drunk on her rather than the cheap alcohol. âIs that what you think of me? Too beautiful to think too much?âÂ
Look her up and down. Yeah, you want to say, thatâs about it. Itâs not out of offense but rather the instinct in you that wants to tell her you donât want to put her in a worried state. Sheâs too⊠ah, she doesnât know what youâd do for a girl like herâsomeone too unreal to be human but too genuine to be the âlivingâ dolls lonely men purchase. Someone who can keep a conversation going without fearing a low blow. Someone whoâs out of your league in the Rogueâs mixed pool but chooses you anyway.
âIâm just saying you might not want to hear a stranger boring you with his hard problems.â
âOh please,â she says, waving it off with a flick of a pointed wrist. âYou know my name. I know yours. Weâre not strangers anymore.â
How did youâhow did sheâ
Her eyes twinkle again. Theyâre⊠violet? You could have bet they were blue. But then you see the suspiciously smooth and clear skin, with the perfect lines of her eyelids, which curve as if manufactured in. Sheâs definitely not human.Â
âBesides,â adds Yena sweetly, âyouâre really underestimating how good I can take certain hard things.â
Swallow. You opened the door, now youâre locked in.Â
Yena catches the bob of your Adamâs apple and smirks. Traces her fingers over yours. She canât be human for sure yet you feel the softness of her hand, the only thing giving you doubt being how chilled her touch is. It's humid here, so where did that come from? Goosebumps pop up in masses across your skinânote how nothing shows up on hers.
Maybe sheâs just a confident woman.
âCome on, I dare you.âÂ
âOnly if you go first.âÂ
âYes, sir,â she says. A cutesy saluted hand positions itself before her temple. Her hands are tiny, could be dainty, while her cheeks lift to support an adorable smile.Â
Your knees tremble. You donât know where that came from either. Yena just knows what to say to get to a guy. Almost like she was made for it. Thereâs that question again, resurfacing in your altered brain: is she human or not?
You lean back. Cross your arms. Here you go, on your way to find out. âWhatâs your story?âÂ
Yena shrugs, her shoulders bare and smooth. And youâre thinking of how youâd like to see the rest of them, the rest of her body naked by pulling down the crocheted strap of the purple coordinates. How youâd like to touch those puffed up cheeks and not care if theyâre real or not when you pull her close to kiss her. How those lipsâ
âDonât have one.â
âSorry?â
She laughs. Even the way she giggles is attractive. âNo, seriously,â she replies, licking her lips. âThereâs nothing interesting about me. Iâm the most normal girl there is.â
There is nothing normal about her. Everything she says is too prepared. The largeness of her eyes gives everything away. Her hair is combed too finely that youâre not unconvinced that it isn't human hair at all, though you can see them connect at the roots. Itâs like someone drew a cute animated girl on a notepad one lonely night, sent the idea to a rich bastard, and brought her to life.
So no, youâre not buying it.
âSo youâre saying youâre just a blank canvas.â
âIf you put it like that, I guess.â Yena rolls her eyes. Youâre a bit obsessed. âGuys want that, right? A blank piece of a girl they could shoot more than a shot at? Maybe paint her white?â
Youâre thankful you didnât continue drinking. Otherwise, your surprise would be visible and audible with the lodge of your throat as you wineboard yourself.
The side of her mouth raises. A soft dimple exceeding cutenessâitâs deeper, brighter, shinier. You imagine her as a college student, charming boys into submission just with a wink and a smile that can melt hearts and bring guilt to lust-addled minds.Â
Thatâs what sheâs doing: Yena is melting you because of how adorable she is, but then you take a look at her body, note the fine curves it boasts, and feel the need to go to a confessional pastor. Youâre not supposed to repeats in your mind, but youâre youâif you arenât supposed to do it, then of course youâll do it anyway.
âWoah,â you say with a nervous laugh. âWoah.â
âLook.â She rests her forearm on the table and talks so casually one would think she werenât just talking about getting cumshots. âIâm not taking that back, so do with that what you will.â
Under the table, behind the scenes, her leg is curled around one of yours. Her ankle glides along your skin teasingly. Not a speck of hair on all of those flawless legs, but youâre shivering anyway from the contact. Hence, make a show of closing your coat around yourself. You canât fool her when itâs not even chilly.
Recover, piecing together the brokenness of your confidence she tore apart.
âMy story is, uh, weird.â
âTell me.â
âThis might be too personal butââ You lift your shoulders awkwardly. âI used to date a girl who looks exactly like you.â
Kim Chaewonâshort auburn hair, soft cheeks, and a tiny figure. Sheâs a memory you didnât think of returning to today, but then Yena came here, and now youâre back to your youth.
âShe was a cop. Cutest officer Iâve ever seen, but a real bitch, for the lack of a better word. Then she left me.â
âYou broke her heart, didnât you?âÂ
Sputter. âNo!â you immediately deny, shaking your head. âIâI didnât hurt her, she wasââ
A filthy lie. You became nonchalant, undeserving of a sweet woman whoâd do anything for you, even give up her well-paying job. Again and again, Chaewon expressed her concerns: why were you talking to Minju? Where have you been? Why are you so mean? You disregarded them all the same. She deserved the ignorance; she was too fucking controlling, too fucking jealous.
Yena knows youâre lying. Itâs like youâre a wound she can peel back to see all the ugliness, all the damage underneath. Her smile tells you everything.
âOh, come on. I donât care. Except for this.â Yena intertwines her fingers. Rests her chin on top of the formed platform. âWas she a good fuck?â
Your laugh is forced, trying to make a good deal out of this situation. A girl is flirting with you right after you saw someone disappear. Now youâre wondering if sheâs a robot. Now, through some way, she knows youâre lying about your ex. Coincidences meet yet you refuse to connect themâparallel lines they shall stay, forever.Â
âYena, what exactly is up with you?â you ask. âYou just met me. And come on now, why me?â
Itâs begun to be hotter in this space. Loosen your coat. Perspiration isnât because of the atmosphere, so you find out (and what a surprise). Itâs because of the woman across you, a midnight sun. If the painful sun was actually a symbol of good in the Rogue, Yena would play its role perfectly. Sheâd scorch through you and youâll enjoy every second. Yeah, youâd get all sorts of tans and burns and cancers if you bask in her without protection, but my god, are you willing to take the risk.
âI just donât like seeing pretty boys have problems,â she replies easily. âIf they want, (and I know they do), Iâll take them all away. Soon, all you'll think of is me. Like Iâm the sun peeking in your room and you just canât get enough sleep because of it.â
You tense up. Millions of questions, a void empty of answers. Once again, how was she so spot on? Youâre not breathing quite well, and your clothes are tighter tonight. âYena, look, I-Iâm sorry.â
âDonât be.â
Donât be, not because you aren't, but because she said so.
She pouts. âYouâre not gonna buy me a drink?â
âYou sound disappointed.â
âNope. Remember what I said? Iâm a blank canvas. So do whatever you want with me. Buy me a drink. Or not. Tell me to fuck off. Or not. Force me on my knees.â
Yena kneels.
Thereâs no mantle on the table to cover up what sheâs about to do. You gasp, then try to mask it as a poor cough, but youâre distracted by how she pulls your pants down effortlessly. The button sealing your coat is busted open and gone.
So is your dignity.
Yenaâs tongue sticks out at the side of her mouth as she looks up at you with excitement and mischief in her eyes.Â
âOr let me do the job. Iâm a big girl after all.â
She seals her teeth around your zipper and tugs down. Itâs embarrassing how hard you are for her. But Yena doesnât care. Adoration is clear on her face as she stares at your shaft, the worshipful energy in her eyes so overwhelming that she has to do something about it.
âYenaââ What a way to go out: screaming a strangerâs name.
You knew those lips were up to no good the moment you saw them. Sheâs provided evidence, too. Her soft lips embrace your boner and suckle fervently while dragging themselves upwards. Itâs a caress that tenses you up rather than comforts you. It works you up, tying you down with the little weight Yena has. You could kick her away right now and tell her to go away. File a case against her.Â
You donât.
The joined duo of careful teeth and wild tongue gets you whimpering. Shivering. Begging. How is she so good at this?
Her mouth is perfectly wet. Itâs not copiously soaked to have you cringing but the perfect balance of wet and ready, coating your rod again and again. She gives you too much and just right. It would be a cruel violation if you were asked to choose one and only one.
âBaby, what the fuckââ you stammer.Â
Her throatâs an expert in taking you because one push of her lips to your base welcomes you in its tight hole. Your knees shake; Yena places her hands on it, not to stop their trembles but for leverage during the dip of her head.Â
Close your eyes, look up, and stare at skies that provide no reprieving stars. Think of how sheâs infinitely bettâ
âBetter than any pussy, huh?â Yena asks. The third time is no coincidence, so youâve heard. âAnd itâs just my throat.â
At this stage, you donât care if sheâs a robot or not, because either way, that mouth is a fucking treasure.
You lift your hips and start slowly working yourself in Yenaâs face. Her lips pucker and pout to allow you inside with pleasurable friction. Those eyesâthere arenât any planets in the sky because of the pollution but you think you can see their sparkle in them.Â
The amazing part is that Yena doesnât choke. She endlessly takes you in, receiving every inch like a blessed gift, but you donât hear her wheeze. No sounds of complaints escape her. You have a feeling itâs not because of your cock sliding in and out of it. She only gags on occasion, and those already sound fake. Itâs like sheâs doing it just so you can get worked up hearing her moans.
While others might be impressed, youâre dumbfounded. She tightens and loosens and pushes and pulls just for your pleasure.Â
âYena, Iâ youâre doing so good,â you compliment her in gasped breaths.
Her cheeks hollow. The suction strengthens and it now feels like your soulâs being swallowed down her neck. She knows how to tease you with light pandering from her teeth, generous licking, and strengthened swallowing. Her mouth is warm but you are more so. Sheâs making you feel hot in all these layers, an additional one played by her perfect lips.
Perfect hair, too, you note.
Hungry impulses take over your body and now youâre pumping your core into the girlâs face with the help of her pigtails. Yenaâs hair is thick and silky, and itâs another enjoyable factor: feeling how it slips between your fingers and how each pull directs her lips to press firmly to your crotch.
She doesnât gag with that either. She must have had a lot of experience; she did say she can take hard things fine. That is, if she were human. If not, whoever built her had dirty ideas: the lack of gag reflex surely brings in the five star ratings.
Bright star-like eyes, cute ruinable face, mouth that can take the largest.
Yep, perfect.
âGoodâfuckingâgirl.â
Your cock weeps white. Yena feels the first drop and immediately pulls away. She pumps your shaft with a strong, urgent fist. As she hinted, you blast all over her face. Your orgasm grips you and shakes you like never before, and of course, the little brat enjoys it. Sheâs nearly laughing.
âThere,â says Yena after she drains you. Her duck-like lips are sticky with cum. âCanvas painted.â
What a pretty painting youâve made. Here, shown to the public, is the manic pixie dream girl, semen on her chin to symbolize how each word she utters has you climaxing; hair disheveled to show your subtle but messy rule over her, because you own her although you werenât there when her mechanical limbs were assembled and her face drawn; and a smile on her face to show that despite all this: she likes it.
You laugh, short blunt breaths wisping in the air. âThere really is something wrong with you, Yena,â you say.
Sheâs a girl whoâs extremely pretty, good at blowjobs, and likes public sex and oral. She can also read minds. Oh, and she might not be real.Â
âYou could say that again.â She wipes her mouth. âThough I do think I could use a little fixing from you.â
-
You take her home. Your mother would have been disappointed in you if she knew you violated the first law you were ever taught: donât talk to strangers. Most of all, donât ever let them in. But Yena is no strangerâlike she said, she knows your name and for some reason, you know her own. Youâre not strangers. And your mother isnât around to command you not to kneel for a pretty girl.
This home of yours isnât fancy, but if people from 2024 saw it, theyâd be mesmerized. Youâre not rich enough to afford the penthouses the North offers; this one is alright for you. The stories of the building arenât aligned with each other, separating a few yards with floating floors that defy gravity. Thatâs right; WAKE12 somehow found a way to disobey the rules of physics. The ends are lit up with bright lights that blind you from miles away. Wide windows encircle the areas along with al frescos and convenient malls. Back then, this would have been classified as the house of the wealthyâyou canât say you agree with the sentiment when youâre not at all rich.
âHi,â says Yena brightly at the front desk. Sheâs so smiley, always grinning like sheâs just told a really clever joke. âWhereâs the elevator?â
âI, uhâŠâÂ
The manager looks at her oddly. Your ears redden; she still hasnât cleaned her face up. Evidence of your deed lies there on her nose and chin and cheeks, even in her perfect hair.Â
âWell?â
The manager lifts the phone immediately. Before he could dial a number, Yena sighs loudly.Â
âLook.â She silences the telephone with a slam of the device down on the keypad. The manâs hand cringes. âIâm about to fuck this guyâs brains out and I promise your little backup bosses canât do anything about it.â
He stares at her.Â
âIâm gonna use his dick until itâs limp as a balloon, then ride him in bed, then bend over on the kitchen table so he could breed me like a common whore.â
You lift an index finger to apologize, but put it back down. Did she just say you can breed her?
His jaw tenses. The teeth behind those unsmiling thin lips grit, not in annoyance but in fear. Yenaâs bouncy and sweet, but apparently sheâs excluding people who cockblock from her cute attitude.
âSo,â finishes Yena, lowering her gaze, âwhere is the fucking elevator?â
The elevator has no pulley or doors. It sits at the side of the uneven floors and rises with nothing but a sizable pod. Youâve had to watch your weight to be able to enjoy the freedom from staircases.Â
Yena steps on it with no worry. As you look at her, you realize how positively tiny she is. Thatâs why she isnât doubtful about fitting in the claustrophobic space. Her violet clothes can slip off at any time at her pull of a waist and slim thighs. All the fullness goes to her cheeks, painted with fake tattooed stars and minimal doodles.Â
Sheâs the kind of girl you could just pick up and do whatever to. Youâre the kind of guy who really, really likes the idea.
Holding your hand is a thing of the past. Yena clutches your cock over your jeans as the elevator lifts the two of you up.Â
The first thing she does the moment you enter your home is not kiss you, or slam you to the door, or whisper dirty nothings in the hollow of your ear. Yena looks around and says, simply, âDoable.â
You chuckle. Youâre not offended. Itâs a tidy, minimal apartment with glass that spans a viewing pleasure of the artificial forest and the hills. Glass lost its value but skyrocketed in purchases when Jo Yuri, first activist recorded in the history of WAKE12âs domination, was imprisoned. People compared her name to glass (yuri was ì 늏 and ì 늏 meant glass) and since then, it has been used everywhere. High demand, low price. Her symbol and namesake is used the way the public wants her to be used: cheap thing convenient only to the eye. They always said she was too pretty to talk too much.
âHere, doable is the best compliment,â you reply. You go to your bedroom to clean the place. If you want to fuck a rich girl, make sure the bedroom is at least up to her standards. âYou have personal maids there in the North?â
Yena continues looking around. Sheâs mildly fascinated by everything, especially in the big window placed on the ceiling that lets stars peer down at you. For some reason, all the ejaculation on her face is gone. You donât remember her bringing a washcloth.
âIâm not from the North, you know.â
âYouâre not?â
âNope. I donât come from anywhere.â
You come out, having cleared your bed from clothes and the floors of trash. You fed the trash to the connected chute that all apartments have, which leads down to the Southern Auster. The word may be Latin and is already defined as south, but thereâs places poorer than the part you live in. Youâre lucky to be here. The Southern Austerâs where itâs much more dangerous. The people there scavenge for food and money, and their cries go unheard in the night. Itâs the biggest criminal capital of the Rogue.
You come out and Yenaâs sitting on the kitchen table with a knife.
Stop in your tracks.Â
See the blood running down her arm.Â
âOh, donât worry,â she says dismissively. âIt doesnât hurt.â
You still donât know what to say. The wound on her skinâs dissolved to a scar that looks more like a scratch on metal. Why would she do that? Why would that do that?
âIn fact, I think itâs kind of cool.â Yena slides the blade on the strap of her top. It falls apart, right down to her braless chest. A pink, perky nipple is clear in the moonlight shining from above. âWhen people see me, they usually want to hurt me, so I might as well do it myself, right? They want to slap me, pull my hair, choke me. They say that and figure Iâm totally flattered.â
You want to say that you couldnât blame them. Yenaâs got this innocent but naughty aura about her that you want to completely ruin. Thereâs her hair, all dolled up and her quirky makeup that brings attention that eventually switches down to the body she doesnât bother hiding.Â
But it looks like sheâs doing the ruining. Arenât those the best stories? Boy corrupts girl when itâs the other way around in reality?Â
To use the word ârealityâ when youâre with Yena is laughable. She can read your mind like a Rogue Times newspaper. You get that things you thought were impossible have a chance of happening in these days, but you donât remember wounds healing that fast. The knife slices right through the fabric, revealing swoon-worthy curves of her waist and hips, making her bleed only not for too long. Who would want a scar-ridden skinny girl anyway?
âWell,â you say after a dutiful swallow, âare you?â
Yena examines the knife. Her crimson blood dripping from its edge is a worthwhile watch while she considers this.Â
She finally puts down the knife, much to your relief. âI donât know. What about you, handsome? Do you want to hurt me or fuck me?â
âI⊠Iâm not like them. I donât wanna hit you or make you cry or anything. I want to fuck you, thatâs completely different.â
First confession of the night that didnât need saying when itâs clear. You let her blow you in public. You took her home. The intention is staring you in the face: you want to have sex with a girl you just met.Â
Yena smiles. âYouâd be surprised how blurred the lines are.â
Yenaâs hands fall on your shoulders and make you fall to the kitchen chair and make your pants fall on the floor. Falling, falling, falling for herâitâs all youâre able to do provided that sheâs stunning. Sheâs tiny with her thin arms and legs but her breasts are surprisingly supple. The cleavage her top subtly shows off hinted to that and youâre still shocked.
Sheâs a hot desert, and the only source you can drink of is her core. Her pussy is slick, making her thighs glue together only for them to part as she sits on your lap.Â
The first grind has you both breathless. The second renders a duet of moans. Sheâs so wet that itâs excessive enough for her to drip down your cock and completely cover it with her. Yenaâs pussy lips splay and clasp your shaft with slippery friction.
She curses. âYouâre so hard. Big, t-too.â She aims your cockhead at her clit and sighs at the toe-curling pleasure. âYou think you can fit in me?â
âI guess weâll have to see.â
Yena smirks. She continues soaking you with her wetness. Her juices pour from your head to your balls. Then, without warning, she sheathes your rod inside her.Â
You gasp. Itâs so easy to slip yourself in and all too difficult to cope with how tight she is. Her walls, perfectly textured and sloppy, trap you and let you out, giving you false hope of escaping, only to imprison you again. Itâs the best punishment you ever had.Â
Her throat was already better than the other cunts youâve spent yourself in, so what does that make her pussy?
The best. Her overflowing waterfall lets her ride you easily. It seems like thereâs a million spots inside her you can target for she quivers and cries with each bounce. Her hair flows photogenically while her chest does the same erotic motion.Â
âSo fucking good, fuck,â Yena groans. Her round butt lands on your lap and you think youâd like it to stay there forever. Curl your hands around her cheeks. Draw a healthy moan from the throat you used.
Yenaâs pussy curves and opens in every best way. She makes it so easy to mold her into the shape of your cock, to rearrange her insides. Was she made for dick? Sheâs so wet that youâd think sheâs a nymphomaniac who wonât let you go, the same way her vagina wonât let you go as its grip curls around you and threatens to milk you to your witsâ end.
You wouldnât mind that.
Her riding accelerates to an unbearable point the moment you start to spank her. Sheâs right about hurting and having sex being almost the sameâyou want to leave red handprints all over her jiggling ass. You want to pull her hair until she screams. You want to fuck this perfect cunt of hers right up to when sheâs creaming all over you, flooding your sexes with her naturla nectar.
And the crazy thing is: sheâll actually let you.
âFucking brat,â you say, hitting her butt again. She yelps coquettishly. âAre you really this thirsty for cock?â
âGod, yesâŠâ Her head throws back. Yenaâs eyes shut and although her vision is blocked she sees stars. âWanted to know how your dick would split me open. Fuck, keep doing that!â
Her core tightens with each blow you expel on her bouncing ass. Her holeâs already so enclosed so when she squeezes more, itâs close to having your cock tortured. Youâre suffocating inside her. Youâre waterboarded again and again with her waterfall of wetness.Â
You guide Yenaâs motions with your hands on her behind. Sheâs so light that youâre practically using her as a doll, fucking her on your erection and letting yourself enjoy how her tits recoil. Her moans turn on a part of your brain that you donât know, but it transmits to you these thoughts: fuck her senseless.
You raise her as high as you can, her weight nothing even to your long-untrained muscles, then slam her down. She sinks deeper into your lap and takes longer inches. Yenaâs screams bounce off the soundproof walls that ensure only you can hear them. Those walls were fucking expensive, so of course you gotta let them have purpose. Slap Yenaâs thighs down on yours and let her pussy envelop you right up to the point of bruises appearing on your skin.
How does she not sweat? Your hands wander all over her tight body and still you donât find a drop of sweat. Her pigtails are still secured. You guess she was just made to be eternally pretty.Â
She is pretty, under any circumstanceâher smooth skin possesses zero blemishes and her winged eyes remain lamp-bright. Sheâs pretty, even when she lets out the pitchiest sounds, even when Yenaâs lips rise into a devilish smile before sealing on your neck. She nibbles on your skin and rakes up your sensitivity.Â
âHoly shit, YenaâŠâ
âYeah, thatâs right.â She licks behind your ear and you nearly lose it. Maybe you already did. âSay my name. Because Iâm all yours. This pussy is yours to use and abuse, so do it.â
Rub her tiny pulsing clit. Yenaâs cries deafen you. If thatâs not enough, she drowns you with her cum. Thereâs no raft to save you. Youâre all alone. Youâll drown here and never see the light of day again.
Electricity runs through her body as the pleasure ramps up. Her fingers weaken on your shoulders. Her gasps are split off by larger, more surprised evolutions. Yenaâs close.
âFuck, no, I canât!â Yenaâs riding is furious and borderline abusive. The noises between your two crotches are louder than before.Â
âYou can,â you insist. You throb inside her while her pussy becomes smaller despite the many thrusts you perform. âTake it like a good girl, Yena.â
âFuck me, use me, Iâm just your cute little helpless girl, fuck me!â
She couldnât be more correct. Sheâs just a useless doll, thin and adorable and tightâso why not use her like one?
Youâre surprised your limbs have any power in them, but they impress as you lift Yena up. During your walk to the counter, you donât stop thrusting in her. Sheâs wet and ready, just waiting and begging for it to happen. Her pretty face is smudged with tears. Thereâs sick satisfaction in you from seeing how the confident girl at the bar is now just a fuckhole to use.Â
âOh, oh, ah!â Cute little whines come out from those lips. Her mouth used its power to pick you up, make you cum, make you scared. In this second, all that is gone: sheâll only ever use it to wail in pleasure.
Knock her against the kitchen counter. Her thighs press to the curve. You spread them open and continue spending yourself to death in her. Her sides that slant to make the physique you love are perfect handles to thrust.Â
Youâre completely soaked, but sheâs completely defiled. The dream girl is not just any dream but a wet dream. Sheâs the fantasy you never had but will constantly think of now. And you donât care if WAKE12 knows youâre fucking her. They can read all the thoughts you have about Yena as much as they like, and you wouldnât care.
Instead of giving a fuck, you twist her around, her smooth back in front of you, and fuck her harder while youâre at it. Admire the way your hips slap her ass and give her the spanking she deserves. One spank, thatâs for being so tempting. Another for the price of her promiscuity. Three one-after-the-otherâs because sheâs too wild, too free for a girl with that face.
âGod, please, harder!â Yena cries. âMake me your little cocksleeve cumslut!â
She does not take pain to heart, physically and mentally. In spite of your rapid pumps and the slap of your stomach to her bent and ready ass, no bruises or scratches appear on her skin. You say all these degrading words and rather than mope about it, she gets more turned on. She forces you to give all your might in railing her in this apartment where the open windows give you away rather than the sounds. And youâre nodding along, saying:
âOf course.â
Of course youâll grab her tits and pinch their nipples as hard as you can. Yenaâs skin might not be humanly warm but these boobs are real. Theyâre soft in your palms and plentiful. Is she a masochist? You tweak and slap and squeeze; in response, sheâs⊠smiling?
Of course youâll slip your touch all over her body. Appreciate every perfect curve, every fine fullness. After fondling her tits, you slide your hands over her smooth pits, then to her arms that struggle to remain stable. Sheâs sensitive all over; itâs evident in the way she babbles each time you caress her.Â
Of course youâll take her hair and pull as hard as you can. She wonât get mad. Nothing ever gets to the cool girl.
âOh my god!â Yena shouts.Â
Those pigtails are there for a reason. Thrusts become easier to do with her hair curled in between your digits. Her ass meets your crotch easily and you find yourself excavating her cavern, hitting her in all the good places. Yena hums and screeches and sobs.Â
âBad girl.â Her hair plays the role of your reins. Theyâre convenient in spreading Yena apart with your shaft, tearing at her tightness. âYouâre nothing but a filthy cocksucking slut.â
âM-mhm, yes, just for you, just for this perfect dick, ahh! Iâm cumming!âÂ
Yenaâs core flexes and contracts. It holds you like it never wants you to go but you let go anyway. You can do nothing besides that especially if itâs her, someone whoâs so cute but so seductive, so challenging but submissive. Each part of herâthose blowjob lips, her blooming face, her cockinessâmakes you wish this could never end.
The first sign of the end of this pornographic one-reeler is your semen raining inside her, setting a storm in her guts. You pant, legs weak, while Yenaâs seem to go on forever although sheâs smaller than you.
The second sign is the mess she made. Those aforementioned desirable legs are painted by obscenity. She squirted all over your floor and herself. Your cum coats her vulva plus spills down freely.
Yena looking back at you with a tired smile is the last one, along with her asking, through shattered breaths, âBetter than your whore ex?â
Because thatâs the thing about girls like Yena. Theyâll do everything to please you. Perhaps sheâs a good dresser, but really, this is your style, not hers. This type of fashion is what you like on women: modestly revealing. Girls like Yena will give you everything, make you discover yourself, and when all this happens, sheâll remain the thoughtless, forgiving girl. She wonât complain about things that will set you off and say coy, clever things, the kind men like to hear.
All just to be better.
She is.
âYeah.â
Yena chuckles. For a moment, she looks like the sweetest girl in the world. The happiness overtakes her face and makes her smile reach her ears.Â
It disappears as fast as it arrived.
âWrong fucking answer.â
Alarm sounds of every kindânatural disaster, fire, robbery, whistlesâblare in your head. You canât hear anything except the thin screeches of emergency. But for what?
Yena loses her brightness. Everything that made her shine shuts down. She smiles, that same one full of mischief, before she breaks, too. Her eyes turn pitch black, the ones you see in crows, the sign of bad luck. She disassembles part by part before you. The light girl is suddenly so heavy that she forces you down. Suddenly, her torso above yours feels colder than before.Â
What the fuck?Â
Escape is your first instinct. You push the remains of the girl away. Your feet kick the broken parts as if youâd break, too. You brush past the fringe of her bangs. Below it, no diamond scar rests on her forehead.
Stare down at her. Yena truly is not real. Your manic robotic dream girl is dead. She was never alive.Â
âYou have been found guilty,â says the implant. You used to hear it when WAKE12 arrested people and now it talks to arrest you. The alarms are loud but you understand every fragment.Â
The implantâs emotionless voice now sounds a lot likeâ
âChaewon?âÂ
Bad luck comes just like the consequences of the law, personified by stilettos clicking on your floor, a shadow in the moonlight, and the face of the woman you swear you never wanted to see again.
And yet here she is.
Chaewon looks so much like Yena. Yena looks so much like Chaewon. Their chins, their eyes, their bangsâwho is who? Their faces mingle and mix in your vision. You think youâre going crazy.
She puts away a remote control and places her hands on her hips. Her black bodysuit is all you see as she approaches. Her smiling lips donât utter a word. You hear her voice, all in your head.
âYou have the right to remain silent. Anything and everything you do shall be punished by WAKE12 accordingly. This is the price you pay for your crime.â
Thereâs a gun in front of you. Itâs aimed at your chest, determined to crush what keeps it beating. Raise your hands, but not in surrender. Youâll die before you try to be Chaewonâs toy again.
âWhat crime? Being your ex-boyfriend?â you spit. This has got to be a joke. âChaewon, I said, what crime?â
She canât abuse her authority. She couldnât have done all that just to get back at you. And for what? Being a bad boyfriend when you were younger and dumber?
You hear her speak. That striking smile looks more terrifying than beautiful. It dissolves into darkness to pronounce your wrongdoing.Â
âFor the crime of fucking existing,â she snarls.
You hate Chaewon. You swore you never did yet now you do wholeheartedly. You tried to love her and reciprocate her efforts. Sheâs a busy woman so she should have understood you had other commitments.
This is the last time you ever want to hear from her.Â
A bullet you donât see coming. It soars in the wind and finds its home sweet home in your skull.
Sheâs the last thing you ever heard.

Let's talk about some lesser known symptoms of autism! Maybe this will help some of you get a broader perspective on what this can be like. There is a whole grab bag of symptoms of autism, but here are some ones you may not know that you have.
Focus on truth
What does this mean? Well glad you asked. This is the focus on facts and logic rather than anything else. People have shown this as autistic people may refusing to lie because it goes against what they find as true. But that's not always the case.
Have you ever used logic to try and figure out your emotions?
Are you someone who doesn't understand why others may speculate when the current knowledge is right there? (such as subtext versus canon knowledge or theoretical arguments)
Do you find it frustrating when others avoid their problems as a way to avoid figuring out negative things? (such as avoiding conflict in a friend group)
Is it easy for you to talk about your strengths and flaws? Do you know your likes, dislikes and limits pretty well?
High context communication
This is preference on details and the full context of any situation. Often going into great detail and backstory to anything.
Do you feel as though you need to overexplain to give the person everything they need to know?
Have you ever apologized to someone by explaining the deep and meaningful reasons of why you did it, before you said you were sorry? And maybe even felt upset or confused why they reacted badly?
Have you ever felt stressed out because you wanted to give others full detail but they either interrupted you or cut you off?
Are you stressed out by people who tell you what to do and not why they want you to do it?
Are you ever told that you talk back a lot?
Do you prefer recipes versus verbal/vague instructions? (All the things that you need such as ingredients, measurements, prep time, etc.)
Do you really like watching deep dives and knowing about the whole history of something you're even vaguely interested in?
Identity diffusion
This is not everyone's experience, and it is common in a variety of other disorders such as DID and BPD. However, it is when you do not know who you are in regards to others. This is also known as identity disturbance.
Have you ever felt like an outsider without knowing why?
Are you deeply interested on what other people think of you? Especially if it's all the time?
Do you really like taking personality tests and quizzes? Are you interested in horoscopes?
Do you feel like you don't fit in any one specific group? Either being a loner, or hopping in between many different groups?
Do you ever feel weirder than the "weird kids" group? Do you not really get along or feel like you belong with them?
Do you have low self esteem when it comes to comparing yourself to your friends? Do you feel like they're better or more capable than you?
Do you feel drastically unimportant and not as interesting or cool as everyone else?
Have you ever related to narratives surrounding a character that is the last of their kind?
Do you feel like your identity is a vast and gaping void, that even if you learn a little bit, that you'll never know everything?
Internalized repetition
This is one of those traits that not every autistic person experiences, but that some might. You could say that for all autistic traits, but hey, good to know regardless. Because of internalized repetition, you may not do many external stims, besides vocal.
Do you listen to a song over and over again? Perhaps having a playlist on repeat?
When stressed out, do you type the same word or phrase over and over again?
Do you like looking at the same things, such as the same color or the same artist's works?
Do you really like certain patterns, crystals or aesthetics?
Do you enjoy games with recognizable fighting patterns? (Such as character rotation, boss battle rotation, etc.)
Struggling to connect to others *
This is something that's been characterized by struggling to connect to others through their emotions, but the opposite is actually true for many autistic people. *I will be talking about those who struggle to connect to others who are emotionally distant or unavailable. Being emotionally distant or not showing emotions externally is a trait that many autistic people share, but for those without alexithymia, they may struggle to understand why anyone wouldn't like to talk about their emotions. I don't know the specific symptom term for this, so please bare with me. If anyone would like to inform me about what this is called, please tell me.
Do you struggle to talk with dry texters, or tend to over-examine people's tone through text?
Do you have anxious attachment?
Do you feel disconnected with many other autistic people and struggle to make friends or talk to them?
Do you feel embarrassment or shame with being emotionally sensitive?
Have you fallen down the rabbit hole of things like starseeds, star children or empaths?
Do you want to talk about serious emotions a lot, even when its not appropriate?
Do you trauma dump or wish people would become more emotionally intimate with you? Do you enjoy it when people share their deep traumas with you, even if it's triggering?
Are you constantly reassurance seeking?
There is plenty more symptoms out there, and these are just a few that stood out to me, because I think I may be autistic. I've always related somewhat, but never connected the dots. But there are reasons for that, such as identity diffusion and thinking I'm different from everyone else no matter what. I struggled because I didn't seem to have a lot of the outward and visible symptoms that were often talked about. I thought every autistic person had alexithymia, when that's just not true. My best friend, who has similar symptoms to me, along with another close friend of mine, have a similar presentation of autism. And it's taken quite a bit for me to accept or process. I feel like I'm faking my experiences just because I've self diagnosed before. And I'm angry that ADHD isn't given enough significance.
But I think I might be autistic, and this article that I based this post off of, confirmed it. So here's my post informing and coming out on that. You can be autistic and highly masking without actually knowing what's going on is masking. You can be autistic and have a spectrum of verbality, you can be autistic and struggle to connect to anyone who isn't immediately emotionally intimate with you. You can be autistic and not relate at all to other autistic people.
You're not alone.

Things that immediately turn me off a fiction book
I'm pretty picky with what I read, because the time I spend reading is time that I could spend writing. I generally know if I will like a book within the first chapter, and I feel no shame in giving up if I'm not vibing with it.
And no, I don't believe in the "oooh read further it warms up" because does it? Does it really? Do I want to waste time finding out?
Frankly, at this point in life, I read more nonfiction than fiction because there's just so. many. bad. books. that are getting published. Worse than fanfictions.
Anyway, here are the things that make me give up. Maybe hearing this will help you as you write your own masterpiece.
Too Many Proper Nouns
Three characters maximum in the first chapter or two. Do not throw dozens of people at me. I will get confused and give up. Let me get to know the main character, by themself or with a few of their closest companions, before you make me remember everyone else. And go deep with those characters! I want someone to stick with!
You can reference other characters, to create a sense of a deeper world, but do not go all-in on them. Make it clear that they are just there to provide a bit of context, and we don't have to remember them yet. We should only be meeting three characters maximum.
Throwing Us Immediately Into a Dramatic Action Point
This is controversial I know, but I hate when something immediately starts with a battle. I don't care if any of these people live or die. I don't know them. I haven't grown attached to any of them.
Even just a page or two to get to know them first will help. You can have them gearing up for a battle, thinking about what's going to happen, maybe talking to their friends, maybe checking their armor, whatever feels natural for them. But do not just start with stabbing people! I don't care about them yet!
Too Many Details
Many this is just me, but I simply do not care about every piece of armor your character is wearing. I don't need to hear a play-by-play of every single color of every single thing because I don't care. Pick out a few specific things for me to focus on and that's it. Stop overloading me with colors and patterns and armor styles.
Yes, yes, you've done your research on historically accurate gear. That's great. It would be good for a movie. But if I have to look up different armor pieces every five seconds, I am glossing over it and moving on. I don't care. I'm here for the story. If I wanted an infodump about medieval armor, I would simply pick up a nonfiction book (and maybe I will).
White Space Syndrome
Tell me what the overall scene looks like instead of all these hyperspecific details of certain objects, like carts or emblems or whatever. I want to know where I am!!
Don't just say "a forest." Tell me what kind of forest. Tell me if it's a young forest or an old snarly forest or a swampy forest or a cold alpine forest.
Don't just say "a castle." Tell me if it's a bustling castle or a gloomy castle or a rundown castle.
Don't just say "on the sea." Cold sea? Tropical sea? Far far away from land or is land in sight? These are the things I want!
Too Much Backstory
For the love of god do not explain the entire history of this culture in the first chapter. The first chapter is for getting to know the characters we're going to be following. You can introduce those things slowly and carefully as the story unfolds.
I get that fiction writers are delighted by all the worldbuilding (or research, in historical fiction) they have done. But the reader does not care right away. They need to get invested before all those little specifics matter at all. My eyes glaze over and I give up because I don't want to have to remember all of that all at once. It's like you just threw a college textbook at my face.
Plus, if you're doing third-person limited, you have to remember that the character is not going to be thinking all of that! They won't say all of that either! Because they know all of that!
Even a general on the brink of a major battle is not going to go "yes, this all dates back to when we took Iuanfutila back in 181, when the brave Iuanfutilans protested the rule of our Yawwbaawnwhryr leaders ...." They are focused on the present moment, and they may discuss the backstory later. Tell us what we need to know now because that is what the character would be thinking too.
"Oh, but Topazadine, how will the readers understand the context if I don't tell them??"
There's a battle. Two groups are at war. Or something was stolen. Or two people are fighting. Whatever. We understand those things. We can get the basic gist of how things are going to play out by just showing us these things happening. Then, as we have gotten a feel for the characters, you can tell us more about the context.
If you walk into a store that's being held up by an armed robber, do you give a shit about his backstory, or do you only care once that person has been arrested and you have to testify? I think we know the answer. You're not going "ohhh why is he doing this??" at first. You're going "HOLY SHIT THERE'S A GUN WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NOW???" and then you'll care about the other stuff later.
Too Much Play-by-Play
I also do not need a play by play of a fight scene. I need to know the general movements, and then the overall atmosphere. I want to feel what the character feels rather than feel like I'm watching a football game.
Your reader will fill in the gaps if you give them enough information, but when you overload them with every single action, they're now trying to keep track of what went where instead of how this moment is supposed to feel. And now the action and drama has gone out of the writing because it's become a manual of fighting techniques.
Pointless Dumb Conversations
"Oh, could you turn around for me? I want privacy."
"Sure, of course, I'm a respectable man." Manfred knew that a lady-in-waiting would be unsettled by the presence of a strange man, so he wanted to be respectful.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome."
Oh my god no one cares!!! No one!! We don't need this exchange. Cut it. This is stupid. Unless something is actually happening or something is meaningful about them saying this, shut up.
How to Not Write a Horrible First Chapter That Makes People Ragequit
Can you tell I'm mad today? I started and stopped three different books because they were all so bad.
Three characters max in the first chapter, with deep discussion of each. (One or two is better.) General appearance, demeanor, profession, whatever.
Restrain the urge to infodump! Dribble it out over the chapter!
Give the setting more attention than random little details that ultimately do not matter. I don't need to know the pattern of the curtains on the horsecart that's about to be burnt. Don't care.
Do not give a play by play of every single action that a character takes because it's boring and no one cares.
In media res is great but do NOT start with a big climactic intense battle or fight or whatever because we don't know these characters and don't know who to root for (or why we should care).
Your character is not going to give us a history lesson in why this conflict is happening. Do not do it yourself either. Give us just enough to get intrigued and no more. Think how your characters would think and what they would prioritize in discussions.
If a conversation is just pleasantries and has no purpose, drop it, we don't care.

Y'know, it occurs to me - Movie!Sonic has a lot more in common Shadow than any other version of Sonic that I know of, and that creates a unique storytelling opportunity that wouldn't have been possible before.
Because originally, Shadow having a dark and traumatic backstory was what separated him from Sonic. Their similarities came out more in their confidence, their playful attitude, and even their withdrawn demeanor (though Shadow's is more extreme). Sonic's genuine ability to be carefree and optimistic was his biggest difference from Shadow.
In the movies, Sonic is... not nearly as put-together. Just like Shadow, his personality is shaped almost entirely from the result of tragedy. Both of them had to watch their closest family member get shot trying to save them from raiders (who were specifically targeting them for their powers) by sending them to Earth. The difference here is that, for Shadow, this event is fresh in his mind, while Sonic's had ten years (give or take) to accept what happened and move on.
Except, there's more, because losing Longclaw is itself not the main thing informing Sonic's character - it's the fact that he spent those next ten years in near-total isolation. Also similarly to Shadow, he took the last words his family said to him very seriously, and she told him to stay hidden no matter what. Combine that with the natural fear of what being found did to Longclaw, and the majority of Sonic's life has been spent hidden away, looking out at the world but unable to participate in it.
Remind you of anyone?
(I swear if the movie doesn't make a point about this parallel specifically I'm gonna lose it)
Normally, Sonic is a silly and upbeat character because that's just how he is by nature, and the feelings he keeps to himself are rarely detrimental to his health. In the movie universe, Sonic is silly and upbeat because he needed to be that way in order for his life to be bearable.
His constant chatter isn't quirky for the sake of it, it's a habit he developed out of necessity because there was no one else to talk to. He compulsively needs to fill the silence because not doing that would only reinforce how alone he was, and it's something he can't shake off even when he's not by himself anymore. His primary method of handling his feelings is to ignore them until they literally explode out of him with lightning firing everywhere.
All of this to say, a Shadow meant to be a foil to this Sonic is going to look very different from the Shadow we're used to. From what little about the movie's events have been described as of writing this, I'm inferring that Shadow's actually going to be a lot more open about his motivations for revenge than he was in the game, and that puts Sonic in the very interesting position of being more closed-off than Shadow.
Because sure, he might try to connect with Shadow's pain like he did with Knuckles. But because Sonic and Knuckles's history was so directly connected, they didn't really have to... talk that much about it. Sonic could acknowledge that they both lost their families a long time ago without having to go into detail about it or the aftermath. And because it had been so long since it happened, it was a lot easier for them to put it behind them and move on.
Shadow can't do that, because for him, Maria was lost very recently. He's not going to accept "you can move on and find new people to care about" as an option, and Sonic can't very well tell him to just ignore it like he did, either. Shadow isn't going to do the whole repression shtick.
For the first time, getting through to Shadow may just depend on Sonic being able to acknowledge his own pain, first. After all, how's Shadow supposed to interpret Sonic, if not as some random guy with a perfectly happy family and an obnoxiously happy attitude telling him that he needs to just, get over what happened to him? How can that come across as anything but naive and shallow without understanding how much Sonic suffered to get to this point?
(It's still a little naive and shallow even with that in mind, but the reason for that isn't because he has no perspective on what experiencing a violent tragedy is like - it's because his only known way of handling it is to leave it in the past and Not Think About It)
Though I do wonder if there's room for Sonic to initially clam up on his emotions even more after meeting Shadow for a bit? Like, he learns to some extent what happened, and is like "aw jeez if this is what could happen if I let myself be more upset about my lot in life then I REALLY need to reign it in" which is the exact opposite lesson he needs to learn but would be really interesting to watch
Point being, I think Sonic and Shadow are being set up as even more like mirrors to each other than usual, and I can't wait to see what they do with that potential
#sonic the hedgehog#shadow the hedgehog#sonic movie#sonic wachowski#movie!shadow#sonic movie 3#analysis#meta#On principle I'm not a fan of Shadow being written to be more open and therefore less subtle#BUT I do see the potential for it working really well in conjunction with this Sonic specifically

Strong
~3.9k words
From Me: Requested by @thechaoticjoy I'm sorry it took so long, I hope I did it justice. I'll post the corresponding ask a little bit after the story has been out so long as it's okay with you đ I'll message you to chat!
Warnings: parental death long-term illness, hospitals, angst, tragic backstory, really sad stuff in this one. But there's some really comforting notions in it, I think. A lot of strong MC attributes and I think there's a lot to be celebrated in this kind of strength
Summary: Harry's best friend is sweet, kind, beautiful, and intelligent. He wishes she would open up to him more. Only because he doesn't want her to have to be so strong for herself. He would love to be strong for her every now and again.
âSheâs the best,â Gemma said knowingly. âSweet, calm...sheâs perfect for you.â
Harry smiled. âYeah,â he shrugged.
âCome on Harry, you canât possibly ignore it. Itâs...nice. Different. Sheâs perfect.â Her smile reflected the same one as Harry. Something they both inherited from their mother. Something that Harry loved to point to when looking at the relationship between them. He liked to believe the kindness he had came from the words his mum and sister spoke. A trait that was passed down to him since he didnât get hand-me-downs from Gemma.
The sweet girl was quietly putting things in Anneâs car after having filled Gemmaâs. âYou sit with your sister,â she squeezed Harryâs shoulder and left no room for argument. Within seconds, she was grabbing keys from Michal and Harryâs mum. The lovely couple had been showered with gifts for the arriving baby girl. Michal and Anne were chatting at one table, Harry and Gemma at another.
âWho does this kind of thing?â Gemma asked rhetorically. âYou cannot let her get away. There is no better sister-in-law I could imagine. No better aunt,â she said pointedly.
Harry smirked, his cheeks turning red at the compliments. But it wasnât his place to blush or accept the compliments. She was perfect. Truly. But he didnât do anything but find her by practically stumbling into her. They worked for the same company, Harry was a research assistant and she worked in IT. One day his computer was glitching out and Harry headed down a quiet hallway.
The room was dark, just a couple strings of Christmas lights around the walls. Music played quietly from a speaker while she organized paperwork and read over her computer screen. A pair of glasses (that turned out to be just for blue light and not for seeing) perched on her nose.
She was beautiful. That was the first thing Harry noticed because he couldnât help but notice.
âHi,â he said in greeting. âMâlaptop froze.â
She was intelligent. That was the second thing. Because she worked magic within moments to get his computer back up and running.
The rest was history. She worked on it quickly and diligently. Tapping buttons, pressing keys that Harry never touched because he wasnât convinced his laptop wouldnât spontaneously gain a conscience. They chatted while she worked. Nothing of major importance. How long they worked there, where they went to school, and if she had tried the new sushi restaurant down the road for lunch.
âThanks for coming to my dungeon,â she giggled when he was leaving. âCome back any time,â her smile was his favorite thing about her.
Lunchtime from then on meant heading to the dungeon decorated with Christmas lights and pictures of her family on the desk. There was no ring on her finger and only a picture of herself and her dog that she joked about as the longest relationship she had. It meant Harry sharing the sushi from the new place and her telling him that she had a chickpea Caesar salad recipe that he would love.
Harry dated several girls over the years, and each were lovely in their own way, but Gemma wasnât exaggerating. There was something about the lovely girl he had known for the past few years that Harry didnât know he was missing. Dates became far and few between. But Harry wasnât brave enough to wreck their friendship. He didnât want to be one of those statistics that attempted to date and not have it work out. He didnât want to lose her by any stretch of the word.
If that meant being best friends, then that was what he would do.
So, she came to family events and confused the hell out of his friends. They didnât touch (much to Harryâs chagrin) other than a hug or an arm squeeze like she gave him earlier. Neither said anything about the trill of something more bubbling below the surface. The electricity that pulsed from her fingertips and through his entire circulatory system. Harry was content to have her in his life in any form she existed because she was lovely and wonderful.
He only wished she opened up to him the slightest bit more.
*
Harry knew her favorite color and that her mom had passed away when she was eight. But there was this element of their friendship that she seemed to hold back. It felt like Harry would drink wine while they watched movies and dump all the things he felt from a young age on her. He told her things he didnât tell anyoneânot even Gemma or Niall or Mitch. He told her the inadequacies he felt, the impostor syndrome he felt at work, all of it. The anxiety he felt for the future and whether life would be what he wanted from it. She held each of his worries and fears in her hands like they were crystal glasses needing to be moved. She consoled him even though he was really over it. Assuaged him of all his worries and assured him that his life would be amazing simply because he was him. âYâshould have been a therapist, kitten,â he winked at her.
She smiled. âIâve heard that before.â
She never reciprocated. There was a strength to her that waved off her. It was warm and everyone around her felt it. Her friends adored her, that much was obvious. But it was as if they were all so close to saying âwe donât need to worry about her.â She didnât just console Harry. Everyone came to her for advice. The quiet lovely lady that worked in a dungeon and hid all of her thoughts and feelings. When they needed to vent, she was their phone call. Advice was her specialty. There was never judgment in her voice. No frustration or the feeling of pushing their worries aside. Every emotion her friends felt was valid and she would process and work through them as much as she possibly could.
When Harry was upset about a breakupâone that in hindsight he didnât know why he even botheredâshe didnât make him feel bad that it had only been a short relationship. âFive months is a big deal,â she reminded him, placing a plate of his favorite tacos in front of him. It was her specialty. He wondered what came first, if she made tacos because she liked them or because he liked them. âYou liked her a lot and five months is a big deal...itâs like a turning point. It was out of nowhere too. Anyone in their right mind would be upset,â she promised returning to the coffee table with her own plate. She sat on the floor across from him. He watched her eat a few bites wondering why on earth she was single for the umpteenth time.
âWhatâs your longest relationship?â He asked.
She snorted. âUm...a year, I think.â
âYou think?â
She shrugged. âI donât really date.â
The fact his heart cracked more at her words than the breakup he experienced the day before should have been his biggest clue that he was hopeless for the sweet girl.
âI noticed,â he smirked. âYouâre too good for anyone, kitten,â he promised.
Her lips curled up in a half smile and she shook her head. âI donât know about that.â
âSâokay, mâsure for you,â he winked making her laugh.
Harry didnât date much after that either. Nothing serious; no more than a couple dates and setups from friends. Instead, he continued inviting her to family birthday parties and holidays where, naturally, everyone fell in love with her.
How could he blame his family and friends, really?
He was in the very same boat as them.
*
Gemma was having some minor trouble after delivering Harryâs sweet niece. The anxiety he felt was so overwhelming. His hands shook as his mum relayed the message. He stammered as he answered, dropped his keys. When he bent to retrieve them, her hand appeared in his vision, snatching them from the ground.
âNo, Iâll drive,â she said firmly. Even if Harry wanted to argue he couldnât.
She held Harryâs hand tightly on the middle console as she drove. Without any fanfare, she dropped him off in front of the main entrance and went off to find a parking spot. When he arrived in the waiting room, Anne was smiling as if there was no issue at all. âWanna meet your niece?â
He did. Very badly. But his sister was his best friend. âWhat âbout Gemma?â
âSheâs fine, Harry. Truly,â Anne assured him and rubbed his back.
They discussed the complications Gemma faced and all the worries Harry had for both her, Michal, and the sweet, adorable baby that was perfectly healthy and sleeping peacefully in the window alongside five or so other newborns.
They returned to the waiting room after Michal went back to the babyâs side. Anne squeezed Harryâs hand reassuringly once more and within moments, she was there. âI left my welcome gift at home in the rush to get here,â she appeared with overpriced objects from the giftshop. Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes a bit dazed, and Harry sensed she was overwhelmed but assumed it was because of the surprise arrival of Harryâs niece and nothing more.
His heart rate slowed at her appearance. Like she was physical assurance that things really would be okay. She smiled at him, sighed, and gave Anne a hug. âCongrats Grandma,â her voice was proud and excited.
Harry couldnât have asked for a better day.
*
Harry was a natural with babies. He was so at ease holding the newborn in his arms. âThink sheâll have our smile?â Gemma asked, showing off the very expression. He could hardly tear his eyes away from the baby but nodded at his sisterâs question.
âYeah,â he sighed smiling gratefully at the little one in his arms. He didnât want to put her down. If he ever had children of his own, he had no idea how he was going to share. He had no idea how Gemma managed to fork her over to him in the first placeâwhen all he wanted was to hold her anyway.
âWhere did she go?â
âMânot sure,â he admitted. âAdd money to the car meter, I think,â he shrugged. âI was told not tâworry about her.â
âNaturally.â
Harry frowned, brushing his finger along the babyâs soft cheek. âSâthat supposed tâmean?â
âShe doesnât let anyone worry about her,â Gemma shrugged. âItâs probably pretty traumatic for her to be here,â Gemmaâs tone had an air that she was reminding Harry of something he was supposed to remember, some event that he didnât know. But he didnât know what she was talking about.
âWhat do yâmean?â
Gemma tilted her head and shifted slightly in her bed. Michal and Anne were getting food from the cafeteria. âHarry, her mom died here,â she rolled her eyes.
Harryâs stomach rolled and he thought about the anxiety he felt coming to the hospital on behalf of his sister. It was nothing in comparison to the anxiety she must have felt.
Harry finally looked up from the sweet little baby and gazed at his sister. âSheâs never told me that.â
Gemma frowned and relayed the story. Told her something about last Christmas. She thought that Harry knew because they were best friends. But Harry didnât. It was one of those things she kept to herself. Gemma found her in the kitchen while everyone else was drinking and chatting in the family room. She told Gemma she was grateful to be part of a big Christmas like this. It had been a long time. But it made her miss her mom more than ever.
Then Gemma relayed the time she watched her excuse herself at a family wedding while the groom and mother dance. âHer family doesnât do big celebrations like us,â Gemma told her. âThat girl carries a ton of grief on her back and she acts like it weighs as much as a feather. She never worries about herself only others but in a way that makes you feel that nothing bad will ever happen to you. I swear just thinking about her in the delivery room and how calm she would have been was enough to keep me relaxed,â Gemma laughed and shook her head. âI told her I didnât expect her to come to the hospital when the time came if she didnât want to. I would never blame her. She said it wouldnât be a problem because you wouldnât bring herâit was a family thing. Do you have any idea how wonderful she is or are we just going to sit here and pretend the love of your life isnât your best friend?â
Harry opened his mouth to respond. His eyes no longer on the baby, but his sister. Unable to believe the words she said. The outline to what he already knew and felt but couldnât believe any more if he tried because it seemed so unattainable. The girl who didnât tell him anything. Or didnât want to be worried over.
But he was interrupted. âLook how cute this is,â she burst into the room holding a onesie that said âif my mom says no, my uncle will say yes.â
It gave the three of them a pause as Gemma laughed and Harry snorted. âSâtrue,â he murmured quietly to the tiny being in his arms.
Their giggles were interrupted by an intercom announcement. A code purple and it asked that all visitors and personnel stay on their current floors. The smile slowly faded from her lips, and she glanced at the baby in Harryâs arms. âYou look good with a baby,â she winked the smile gently returned. She gave his shoulder a squeeze, laid the onesie on the cot Michal would be sleeping in later. âMâgonna run to the bathroom,â she said.
Harry watched her leave, the first time he had looked at anyone other than the baby for longer than thirty seconds since he met the little one.
âHarry,â Gemma said gently. âYou should follow her.â
âWhat? Why?â
âDo you know what a code purple is?â Harry shook his head. âMissing child.â
Harry looked at the baby again and sighed. âWell, if anyone will find her...â
âIt would probably be Miss Wonder Woman herself, yeah?â Gemma finished Harryâs thought.
*
She couldnât have gotten far if the stairwells and elevators were blocked off. He searched as much as the rest of the staff on the floor, sending his mum a text that everyone in their little family was fine. Fortunately (for Harry), there was a commotion with one of the patients on the floor and the person standing guard at the stairwell stepped away long enough for Harry to sneak to the next floor. Because he may have felt that she hid a lot from him at times, but he was certain if anyone was going to find a lost little girl, it was going to be herâeven if he didnât know why she wanted to find her.
The enormity of the steps muffled most of the sound, but Harry crept around the back of the stairwell, and found a little storage closet.
âItâs not fair!â It was a small, sad voice that Harry didnât recognize.
âItâs not,â she agreed. Her voice even, sad in a different way, was one that Harry did recognize.
âMommy says I have to be brave for my siblings and Iâm trying but itâs not fair! I donât even get to be sad,â she cried.
âI know,â she agreed again. Composed, like she was talking someone off a ledge. Maybe she was, Harry didnât really know what was happening. But her understanding was tangible. Her soft voice made Harry feel so safe.
But it broke his heart right in half.
âItâs because Iâm oldest. Mommy tells me that Iâm being a big girl and being brave and helping Daddy get better but Iâm not. I donât want to be here, itâs not fair.â
âI know,â she repeated. âMy mommy died when I was your age too. She was really sick. I had to take care of my little brothers and my daddy,â she explained. âIt was really hard. I didnât think I was allowed to cry because I was good at being brave.â
The answer was a sniffle, not words. Harry felt terrible for not knowing this. For never pressing. For finding out in a stairwell with a little girl that neither of them knew. âBut do you know who is most worried about you right now while everyone else is worried about your daddy?â
âWho?â There was a big breath of silence. Something that Harry didnât understand passed between them. Some sort of recognition of the situation they were both privy to and Harry was not. âDaddy doesnât know Iâm there.â
âHe does, sweetie, I promise,â she assured her. âLetâs get you back to him.â
âI just want to cry,â she whispered.
âI know. You will. Itâs good to cry. Brave even.â
âMommy says Iâm brave for not crying.â
There was a pause for a moment that Harry couldnât describe. He couldnât see his best friend nor the little girl that the entire hospital was searching for. But the grief and weight he felt in that little space was immense.
âMommy will tell you youâre brave for crying too,â she promised. But it was filled with an emotion that Harry couldnât quite name; but he was sure he sensed a bit of longing in her tone.
He watched her grab the little oneâs hand. Like she was grabbing the hand of her younger self. Harry hoped it healed whatever that sense of longing was and whatever she remembered in that quiet pause.
When she turned and saw Harry waiting, her cheeks reddened. She looked away briefly. âLook who I found,â she smiled sweetly. Not a trace of sadness on her face, not even a tear.
Harry hoped she would cry later. Hoped she would tell him everything. He was aching for it. Aching to carry the metric ton of grief she held for so long.
âMade another friend?â Harry asked instead.
She squeezed the girlâs hand. âI think so.â
âYou okay, love?â Truthfully, Harry wasnât sure who he was asking.
The little girl sniffled, her eyes blotchy red and glassy. She looked up at Harry shyly but also with awe. âAre you a prince?â
Harry chuckled and she smiledâthe exact reprieve anyone could have hoped for in that moment. âHe is,â she smiled kindly. âYouâll find a best friend just like him too,â she promised.
*
Fortunately, Miss Wonder Woman coaxed the little one back onto the floor and with the commotion of her return, she and Harry snuck right back in. No one questioned them. He wondered if the little girl would even mention her to her mom or the staff. But she was unconcernedâglad the little girl was okay and safe.
âHow did you know where she was?â He asked.
She didnât say anything. Watched the reunion of her mom and her brothers. The sadness flowing through a whole family like a virus.
âLove,â he tried to gather her attention but was unsuccessful. They stood in the waiting room watching from afar. The whole hospital began its routine again.
She wasnât recognized for finding the little girl.
âKitten,â he cooed. âTalk to me.â
She sniffled, wiped below her eyes.
âLove,â he touched her arm. It broke something in her. Her lower lip wiggled as she fought back the emotions and tears that she felt bubbling up from somewhere deep inside her.
âUh...sorry. I just couldnâtââ she cleared her throat and wiped below her eyes again.
âLove, you donâtââ
âDoes Gemma need anything? I bet a code purple probably scared a first timeââ
âKitten.â Her shoulders heaved and she tried to continue talking, something about helping or understanding. Something about Gemma and Anne and Michal. âAngel, yâneed tâstop,â he whispered quietly, as her sobs took over. Her hands covered her face and she turned toward him. Her body shaking and Harry wrapped her up in his arms. Held cupped the back of her head as she cried and he wanted it to stop. It hurt him so much to feel that pain through her. It wasnât even his pain. He imagined all those moments in the last few years where she hid her own pain to take care of others.
âI couldnât cry,â she croaked.
Harry didnât want her to cry now but he was glad she was.
âI know, angel,â he didnât. But he would pretend. Because she was there for every emotion that he had felt since he met her, and it never stopped her. She never made him feel bad for feeling any type of way. He would do anything to make her feel the same. âI know,â he sighed and squeezed her as tightly as he could worried he might hurt her but worried she would fully break apart if she didnât.
*
Harryâs bed was her new favorite place. âI owe you some new pillowcases,â she whispered.
âKitten, jusâ worry âbout yourself for a change,â he kissed her forehead, almost directly between her eyebrows. It made her feel like she was made of putty.
âI am, if Iâm going to be sleeping here, I canât get dirty from all my tears and snot.â
He chuckled. âIâll get new pillowcases if yâsleep here.â
âYou donât mind?â
Did he mind her sleeping there? Or getting new pillowcases? âNeither, love,â his fingers trailed up and down her spine. âSânice, yeah?â
She nodded. âBeen thinking about it a while,â she whispered.
âShoulda said something,â he hummed quietly. âAnything thatâs mine, sâyours.â
âAnything?â
âMhmm.â
âEven the secret chocolate stash you have in the oatmeal box?â
He chuckled. âAll yours.â
âWhat about that candle in your kitchen that you light after you finish cleaning?â
âIâll put your name on it.â
She was quiet for a minute. She inhaled the warm scent of his cologne poking at the freckles that dotted his collarbones and neck at sporadic intervals. Once the tears started, she couldnât stop. Hence the need for new pillowcases. Her skin felt raw, blotchy, her head hurt a bit from the lack of water.
But Harry was there the whole time. He didnât shy away once. Simply let her cry for all the times she didnât because she needed to be brave and all the times she wanted to anyway. Eventually she whispered all the things she kept from him. From everyone. Even herself.
âHarry?â She whispered.
âYes, kitten?â
âI know this is lame, but I didnât date a whole lot growing up because I never felt like good things could happen to me. I always worried it would be taken away and... anyway... I donât know how to ask this, because it sounds so lame but youâre my best friend so maybe youâll know what Iâm saying andââ
âI told yâanything thatâs mine is yours, angel,â his smile was lazy but beautiful. Like this was the most normal thing heâd ever done with her. Everything about him was beautiful. From the surface of his skin to the depths of his soul.
So it shouldnât have been a surprise that her best friend already knew what she wanted to say.
His lips brushed against her temple. Her heart finally felt at ease. âCourse I want tâbe your boyfriend. You have my whole heart.â

what draws you both to jalice/makes you so feral about them as a ship?
you should know we had an entire meeting in order to answer this ask. no this could NOT have been an email (unlike new moon) đ€
Secretary G took notes. they are as follows (read the bolded parts for a tl;dr)
we kind of see it as though jalice got the traits that edbella werenât allowed to have, either due to their status as protagonists or because smeyer's mormon background causes her to view these qualities as too sinful/negative for her wholesome Waiting Until Marriage main couple. (examples: alice's materialistic, "shallow," hyperfeminine qualities, her character flaws (especially her manipulativeness), and jasper's aura and history of fucked up violence closer to what you'd find in traditional vampire stories/horror/adult gothics/books not written by a mormon author)
in terms of how much screentime the non-main-love-triangle canon couples get, their relationship is kiiiinda given the next-most weight to edbellaâs (examples: jasper's extreme overprotectiveness, the New Moon chapter 19 moment where alice prioritizes jasper and bella is like âyeah I get it, I would do the same.â) basically smeyer gives jalice's relationship a lot of the qualities she finds romantic/ideal, (and which are either similarly romantic to us or entertainingly toxic/a good source of drama), presumably because alice is like her 4th-favorite character after the main love triangle and she wants nice things for her
we both really love how, superficially, as presented in the books, jasper and alice seem to have this almost âcourtly loveâ that smeyer has described as "spiritual." yet when you look closer, their relationship has so many darker undertonesâthe deep codependency bordering on obsessiveness (mutual, but especially the way it manifests on jasper's endâ"I will kill this random teen girl who witnessed edward's jean valjean momentâą because any means are justifiable when the ends are Protecting Alice"), the dark sides of both of their powers, the idea that jasper is only a cullen and/or only a vegetarian for alice's sake, etc. hell, even the fact that they're the only Cullen couple who we know had (gasp) premarital sex đ (I mean we assume rosemmett did too, but alas, they don't have that hilarious "carlisle convinced jasper and alice to get married" quote from smeyer)
partially summarized: "jasperâs general desperate willingness to sell everyone to satan for one corn chip if it keeps alice safe (carlisle: I know this and I love you)"
we're forever smug that the movies gave us even more jalice screentime (especially remarkable in such a protagonist-centric universe), including jasper being in the same grade as alice/bella/edward, and the extra jalice kisses in Eclipse and BD đ„ș
what we wrote down as the âwhoâs protecting whom" phenomenon, as coined by G in this old ask. (shannon: "jasper is the toddler you've given the PS2 controller that's not plugged in")
we also like the characters individually. jasper is for the girlies with competency kinksâa stoic caretaker who speaks little and mostly expresses himself via acts of service. we also both love the way in which he needs protection from his own uncontrolled violence (slipping up and killing humans, suffering the pain and fear he inflicts, etc.) he is, in the words of our beloved @liceparade, the "line cook trauma boyfriend"
âItâs hot when thereâs a fictional violent man who wet babygirl đâ âshannon
and alice, unlike bella, genuinely loves being spoiled and bossing people around. she's brat-coded, she's confident and secure in who she is, her god complex ("I'm close enough [to omniscient]") causes fascinating conflict, bella eats drywall from sheer horniness at her merest movement, she dresses like a slut in the Mormon YA Novels and yet somehow escapes authorial condemnation, she has a sickass gothic heroine backstory, she's "annoying," aro started a whole war over her (eat shit helen of troy đ), she spaces out in public and has to be led around by jasper, she's one of the most powerful vampires in the world, she's in high school getting a C+ on her precalc test đ
đ»
it's appealing that smeyer frequently puts alice in the center of the series' various conflicts (james' singer and "one that got away," the accidental cause of all the drama at the end of new moon, one of aro's secret True motives for starting the conflict in BD.) this is mostly as a consequence of smeyer using alice as a plot device and/or deus ex machina, but it is in fact interesting
is alice jasper's morality chain? we love pondering this question via fic, meta, etc (especially because...alice ain't exactly a model of ethical behavior herself)
together, the two of them exhibit lots of classic tropes. they're grumpy x sunshine, chatty x silent, opposites attract, etc. to say nothing of that height difference đ„”
we love the yin/yang symbolism of a character with a horrific past paired with a character with NO memory of her past, who is focused on the future and all about potential. not to invoke an ancient phrase but POETIC CINEMA
the next note just says âPOTENTIAL in general.â I assume we meant how all of the above stuff creates potential for interesting stories, conflicts, metas, art, fic, etc
G has brought this up in the past, but we love the irony of jasper, a character whose chief desire is to be left in peace, being soul-alteringly in love with the one character who will always be a giant glaring target through no fault of her own. hilarious

backstory/lore/personalities below the cut! it's. longgggg. VERY long. slkdfjlsdk like over 3k words
Backstory (personalities at the bottom)
Nim was a goddess of emotions, tasked with protecting the worlds made by creators throughout the multiverse. Eventually she yearned to create something of her own, but couldn't make something out of nothing-- so she used herself. She made two beings to keep each other company when she was gone, and used what remained of herself to become a tree to give them shelter.
The beings she made were too young and weak to harness her power in its entirety, so she sealed her power away in the fruits of the tree she became so they could grow into her strength slowly.
The beings were Dream and Nightmare, two halves of her whole.
It continues similarly to Dreamtale-- overtime the tree flourishes and the skeletons slowly grow up together. A village is built nearby and, over decades, becomes a busy town. The child guardians are mostly left alone as the people don't understand them and they keep to themselves, but there are many rumors and myths that develop about the tree they guard. One such rumor is that the tree is the reason the town develops so successfully and quickly. Over generations the guardians are a constant, never aging (truthfully just very slowly) and the mythos surrounding them slowly begins to warp.
People get used to their presence and seek them out more often, and as the details about their guardianship and abilities begins to spread more and more rumors develop.
Dream is outgoing and cheery. He's personable and warm and easy to get along with. The townspeople quickly adopt him like a stray cat, and he's given gifts when he visits and treated kindly. He's called things like "little guardian" and "angel" and the like. He soaks up this attention and praise like a plant hungry for the sun's light and, over time, visits more and more often.
Nightmare is more wary and shy, but strikingly intelligent. He's incredibly protective of the tree of emotions, and rarely leaves. It's more than a magic tree; it's their home and history. A hidden library, the sum of all of Nim's knowledge and life experiences, rests within the tree's broad hollow trunk. There's room enough for dozens, if not hundreds of books, and a place for the twins to sleep and hide away. He's dedicated his life to knowing as much as he can about their long-silent mother and their duties as guardians and is very protective of the knowledge. This makes him more enigmatic to the townsfolk, and people are known to be afraid of the unknown. He's quickly dismissed as the ruder sibling, and shunned. Not that he minds.
Dream isn't as concerned with their history-- he's far more interested in the present and future. He's found himself enamored with the town and how it develops; how he's watched children age and have families of their own, how more buildings are built to spread the town further and further. He knows everyone and everyone knows him.
They are young teens at this point. A couple hundred years old but still maturing and growing. As they've aged the tree has lost fruit; the apples drop to the ground and disappear when they're picked up as the twins absorb them to age into their powers.
But prosperity doesn't last forever, and the tree held no real power over the town's success. Soon the town finds itself in trouble-- a drought, an oncoming war, it's not important. What's important is they cling to their superstitions and fears and try to find a scapegoat. Nightmare is that scapegoat, keeping their salvation from them. They haven't been taking proper care of the tree, that's why there's fewer fruit. It's their fault.
If the town can get to the apples the twins protect, maybe they can use them to help themselves. Maybe they can plant more magic trees to increase their prosperity, or their warriors can eat them and gain their strength. They don't know anything about the tree's true nature and don't care to listen to either Dream or Nightmare when they ask for the guardians' boons.
The townspeople aren't dissuaded, and instead turn to manipulation. If Dream and Nightmare won't give them their blessing, they will simply have to take what they need. The guardians are children, anyway. What do they know about the world and politics of adults?
They know they can't get Nightmare away from the tree, but they can at least lure Dream away. He's offered tea and treats by a trusted villager, unaware it contains a sedative. He falls asleep and they go to work-- dozens of villagers go to the tree and start picking the golden apples. They ignore the black apples, not interested in something appearing 'tainted'. Nightmare tries to stop them but things get violent and he's downed with a blow to his skull. He's still young, weak, inexperienced, and hopelessly outnumbered. He's pinned and forced to watch as his mother's body, his home, is defiled.
The townsfolk didn't count on Dream being resistant to the sedative, however. Despite the amount of sleep-inducing herbs he consumed he's awake within a few minutes. He's groggy and aware something is wrong, but he's up.
Concerned and distraught he's been poisoned by someone he trusted, he returns home to find his brother injured and restrained and the tree devoid of golden apples.
The townspeople have decided to cut down the tree without removing the black apples, thinking that will remove the problematic negativity and they can replant the golden ones to only have positive trees. They're already partway through the trunk, and that's what spurs Dream into action.
They haven't noticed him yet and he starts picking up the apples to protect them-- but they disappear as soon as they're in his arms. They're his power by birthright, and absorbing them is what he's meant to do. It's only natural that his power would want to go where it belongs. At first it's warm and he feels stronger and more aware of what's going on, but the more apples he picks up the more his body aches and starts to burn.
His vessel was never meant to contain this much power this quickly, and as he desperately tries to save the apples it starts to break at the seems. His bones crack, the injuries filling with golden light holding him together, but he doesn't stop.
The townsfolk notice him, finally, and stop cutting at the tree to stop him. But it's too late. He's 'consumed' enough now that he's strong enough to keep them back with a magic barrier. He could stop now, talk them down from their frenzy, but... he doesn't want to. Despite the pain of his body breaking and barely keeping itself together, the power he now burns with is... good. His senses feel sharper, he's stronger, and he's brimming with energy. He keeps absorbing the apples.
His power overflows and can't be contained within him anymore, and golden light seeps out of his spine. The people always called him an 'angel', and this moment is where that myth solidifies itself. They aren't wings, not yet, but the amorphous magic light at his back is enough to make the villagers back away. This is the divine salvation they've been waiting for, right? An angel come down to lead them to safety?
But Dream isn't feeling like the happy-go-lucky child they knew him as. He's feeling an all consuming rage like he has never felt before. His emotions are much stronger than they've ever been, burning inside him. And not only that-- the vague impressions of people's emotions he could always feel are clear as day now. He can see exactly what the people are feeling.
Fear. Anxiety. Anger. And... hope.
That hope stands out to him. It doesn't sting like the other feelings steeped around the tree right now. It's warm and comforting and he wants more.
But first he needs to free his brother. Nightmare is falling unconscious and his vision is blurry, but he recognizes Dream. Dream does his best to heal him, a skill he's been practicing as his magic slowly got stronger. Now, though, his magic is much more powerful. It's raw and out of control and the positivity burns Nightmare with its force, scorching his armrs. Dream stops almost immediately, but the damage is done.
Nightmare was already weak, but now he's on the brink of dusting. The faint wisps of Nim left in the tree uses the very last bit of her magic to turn him to stone to help him recover.
Confronted by the loss of his brother, convinced it was his fault and his magic that did it, Dream shuts down. He goes fully into denial. Nightmare is just resting, he's fine, everything's fine. He can fix everything.
He needs to get rid of the townspeople. They're crowding him and his brother and they need to leave immediately. Shockingly, they obey. Dream is left alone with the statue of his brother.
It's not long before he gets a craving for more of that positivity he sensed. When he returns to the town, suspicious and still angry, he finds everything strikingly normal. Everyone is going about their business as if nothing had happened and he's greeted warmly (if a little nervously). There's more hope coming from everyone and it soothes the ache in his chest.
Dream overhears people whispering about him, calling him the angel again, and he starts putting the pieces together. The head of the town meets with him and suddenly he's not treated like a petulant child, but he's given information.
The town's issues are explained to him. The people are putting their hopes and dreams on his shoulders. There's expectations and they want things from him despite what they have done. And Dream finds himself answering the call, drunk on the power and feeling seen for the first time.
The people weren't acting maliciously, he tells himself. They were just misguided. They didn't know what they were doing, just like how they thought he didn't know what he was doing. He's the guardian of positivity. If they want prosperity and joy again, he can help them. He can guide them to what they want. They just have to stay away from the half-felled tree and do as he says.
As it turns out, the people are more than willing to stay far away from the negativity-steeped tree and follow his orders. They very quickly fall into line and worship him. He has no idea how to lead or manage a town, but nobody dares speak a word against him. Not that they need to. Despite the continuing issues they face, no townsperson can say that they're unhappy with Dream in charge. The opposite, in fact.
Since he came to be with them permanently everyone has found themselves filled with nothing but hope and happiness. They work tirelessly without complaint. Under his guidance the town expands even further over the decades until it's a fortified, bustling kingdom.
But Dream grows bored managing the mortals. He still ages slowly, and now an adult and having overseen a kingdom and its silly politics for generations, he wants more. He's grown properly into his powers and the magic at his back is now properly shaped like wings, like the 'angel' he is.
Nightmare used to speak of the other worlds the books within the tree would describe, and Dream for the first time in centuries seeks out his old home. He finds the books, worn but still intact, and learns of the multiverse and the balance.
It's then that he decides, like the expansion of the kingdom and his influence, to bring his light and positivity to other worlds.
It's another century or two after Dream leaves that Nightmare's petrification wears off. The apples have all fallen from the tree over the years, and he's slowly come into his powers himself. And yet he's still so... fatigued. Like something is sapping his strength no matter how much he rests.
The incident feels like it only happened moments ago for him, and yet he's alone. The library of his childhood is decrepit and the books are in poor condition and barely salvageable. His brother is gone, and when he goes looking for him... the town is a massive kingdom. White and gold and successful, flying golden banners and proclaiming Dream as their patron guardian.
But he's not there, either. Nightmare spends time in the kingdom working as a farmhand just trying to understand what exactly has happened and changed in the time he's been away. It's not easy finding information about his brother that's not glorified, and being an 'outsider' makes it even harder. The myth of the guardian of negativity has faded with time, his status as Dream's brother merely a footnote in the story, and for the first time in his life Nightmare is treated rather... normally by those around him.
It's a couple years later that Nightmare finally comes into his own and realizes the extent of Dream's control over both their original home, and the worlds he's visited since. He remembers reading about the careful balance he and Dream were meant to preserve... but he can tell that something isn't right. Somewhere along the way, growing up alone and worshipped and corrupted by the positivity he was meant to guard, Dream has lost himself. He's 'fixing' every AU he can, making them positive and trying to drive the balance as far in his favor as possible.
Nightmare leaves his home, alone and unsure of himself, and quickly finds himself lost in a sea of worlds that hate him. Due to his efforts to right the balance, he is painted a villain. He's used to it, and yet it still hurts. The hope that it was just that village that hated him quickly turns into the realization he is doomed to be hated wherever he goes, no matter how correct his actions.
The first time he runs into Dream, it seems like everything is going to be okay. They're together again, nothing bad can happen to them now that they're both powerful. But Dream's aura is draining to Nightmare, and their goals are too far apart. Dream's joy at the realization his brother isn't dead quickly turns to petulance when Nightmare insists he stops disrupting the balance and returns the AUs he's altered to their proper states.
They argue, and despite how much it hurts they go their separate ways. Nightmare continues to try and fix things, coming into conflict with Dream every so often, but he's outnumbered again. Dream has hundreds of people in his employ, sent out to AUs constantly to help put them on track to be positive. Nightmare is alone and weakened. Despite working tirelessly, there is nothing he can do to fix things. The balance shifts ever further, and Nightmare grows weaker.
It's years into their conflict that Dream hurts his brother again. He's used to them being on relatively even footing. He holds back against his disadvantaged brother, and Nightmare escapes before things get too bad. It's a song and dance they've done countless times at this point. But eventually, the time comes that Nightmare doesn't dodge in time. An arrow pierces his chest.
He's alive, the wound not enough to outright kill him, but he's comatose. Dream takes him back to his home, an opulent palace in an empty AU he's transformed to his liking. Nightmare can't get hurt anymore like this. Dream can protect him, and when he wakes up he'll convince him to see things his way. Everything will be okay. He always fixes things.
(Nightmare does eventually wake up and more things happen, but i'll save the how and why for later ;) )
Dream / Helios
Hundreds of years old, massively powerful, and incredibly influential. Dream has (peacefully) conquered most major AUs and solved their conflicts. Beloved by all and he knows it, he's egotistical and used to getting what he wants. And if he doesn't get what he wants... he finds a way. He's entitled and arrogant but also completely assured in his power. He has no need to gloat, he's quite confident in his status and abilities. But that isn't to say he doesn't like praise; he lives for it.
He's generous and well-intentioned, but also fully capable of justifying the means to get his end. If an AU can't be fixed it's either cordoned off or allowed to be destroyed. He employs many many people from many AUs to do his bidding, including those from AUs that would be considered 'negative'. If there's only one person left in the AU, removing them and giving them a better life is the next best way to fix it.
He doesn't have friends, not really, but his close confidants are Blue and Strike. He collects injured mythological creatures from AUs and rehabilitates them at his palace. He considers himself a patron of the arts, and aside from hiring people to help spread positivity he also hires artisans to live in his palace and fill it with art of all kinds. Tailors, sculptors, painters, writers, singers/musicians, and more.
He has many hobbies he's picked up over the years, but enjoys singing the most. He can fly with his wings, and is strong enough to carry someone along with him. He can change their size and shape depending on need.
He's very self conscious about the golden cracks all over his body, considering it a symbol of his weakness when he was young. He wears full coverings at all times (except his skull), and would only show the cracks to someone he truly trusts and cares for.
He's very skilled with a bow and rapier, but prefers to leave the fighting to his guards. He's very clever with his words and can be a skilled manipulator, but is equally capable of lacing his words with magic and forcing people to follow his will. He's very in-tune with souls and can manipulate even the slightest bit of positivity he senses, and there's a few people around his castle that are effectively his puppets due to their disobedience.
Nightmare / Eos
Cynical and exhausted. He's a workaholic; he doesn't have time to rest, he has to live up to his responsibilities. He rested enough as a statue and he can't afford to stop for even a moment. He wants nothing more than to have everything go back to the way it was and be close with Dream again, but worries the passage of time and what happened when they were young has put an irreparable crack in their relationship. The Dream he fights now is nothing like the Dream he knew when they were young, and he struggles to grasp that disparity.
Dream however can't help but recognize that Nightmare has barely changed. He's still shy and a bookworm. He's vilified and despised by most around him despite his good intentions, and continues to stand up for what he believes in in spite of it. He knows he will never be the hero of the story, but fights anyway.
He's slow to make friends and even slower to fully trust someone. He yearns to be understood and treated like a full person and not as a scapegoat for fears and misunderstandings. He's fighting to right the balance as is his responsibility, but all he really wants is to settle down and rest. He gets easily attached to people that make him feel safe and comforted.
He grew into his magic slowly as a statue, but is still adjusting to the changes even years later. When he's overwhelmed by negativity it can result in him leaking corruption from his sockets and mouth.
He's weakened from the balance being disrupted, but makes up for it with alternative magic he's learned from books. He has a passion for bookbinding and book restoration and has lovingly recreated and repaired what he could from the tree's library. He thinks it's very important to preserve Nim's history and live up to his responsibility as a guardian.
Not as skilled with a bow as his brother, but a decent swordsman with a sickle or scythe. He fights his own battles and eventually gains a team of close friends to support him.

Batfamily x teen!reader whoâs like younger than Timmy but older than dami, and heâs also a vigilante and were one before being taken in by the family.
Anyways he has been with the family for a little while now and heâs close with every member, heck even heâs even close with the JL. But the batfamily doesnât really know much about the readerâs past, and itâs a big deal if the world greatest detective doesnât know ether.
So a mission goes wrong and the reader is hurt so they obviously have to remove some of their clothing to treat him and they are shocked when they find many scars on the readerâs body. They decide to ask them about it when he wakes up. Once the reader wakes up and sees his body wrapped in bandages, he panics and has a panic attack because he knows they know about his scars now. One of the family member comes in and calms him down, and onceâs heâs calm, they ask about how he got these scars. The reader knows he canât keep lying anymore so he reluctantly tells them. His backstory is like Damians and cass. His father has a clan of his own and he trained the reader from birth to be the best assassin in the world. His punishments and training were harsher than Damianâs even. But he ran away from all that when he was 10. By the time he finishes the rest of the family is there and heard everything, he just breaks down crying again and the whole family now comforts him, telling him heâs safe now. IM SORRY IF YOUR UNCOMFORTABLE BY THIS :(
Don't worry, I'm not uncomfortable by this. But my poor baby... Even harsher than Damian's training...
Summary: (Y/N)'s past is unknown, but a mission gone wrong reveals everything.
Warnings: mentions of very harsh punishments, scars, mission gone wrong, angst, fluff, the reader is just happy
Bruce loved his sons. That much was obvious and although he didn't show it with his words, he loved the with all his heart. But there was a slight issue.
(Y/N)'s past. The boy is in between Tim and Damian in age and also Bruce's favorite, according to Jason and Damian. Bruce had to repeat himself time and time again that he didn't have favorites.
He loved them all equally.
But there was a question about (Y/N)'s history. There was nothing on him. Bruce found him on the streets, just surviving. Bruce sensed that something was off about him, but not in a bad way.
Bruce could see it in (Y/N)'s eyes. He has been through something, but whenever he questioned it, (Y/N) outright denied it. No matter how Bruce approached it, he was always denied.
And if he decided to investigate?
There was nothing he could find. Absolutely nothing. It bugged him. He tried over the Batcomputer, he tried over the Justice League systems.
And he came up with nothing. It made him wonder, but he chuckled it up to being on the streets for a long time. But there are always something, there was always a paper trail. No matter what you are, a kid on the streets or something else.
Always.
But that didn't make Bruce love (Y/N) any less. And Bruce wasn't the only who thought about (Y/N)'s history. The other members wondered about his history too. Despite being here for a little while, he got close with everyone.
Even with Damian. That alone showed how important he was to them. Even the Justice League members were close with him. Every time one of them visited, they went to see him first.
No matter what. He got uncles and an aunt who were more than happy to hang out with him when he came with Bruce. Work and meeting be damned, their nephew is more important.
No matter who came, (Y/N) was the first priority.
To his siblings, to his father, to his grandfather and to his aunt and uncles. No matter what.
Every thing would come to a screeching halt during a Justice League mission. It was a mission to take over the carrier where the League of Light had meeting and by taking it down, they would have a shot at destroying the League of Light.
The brief for this mission was confidential and top secret. Batman was leading the meeting, clearly determined to get this carrier and the intel that it carried. Batman was leading the way with his sons and the others would hit from the sides.
If there is one person from the Justice League that you need to kill, that is Batman. They would land on the top of the carrier, going to the location with the Batwing.
It was going to be a very difficult mission. Bruce didn't sugarcoat it, it was going to be grueling. You never know what is going to be behind the corner of the carrier.
And more importantly, intel was the top priority.
" Alright. Does everyone understand what they need to do? " Bruce asked, looking at everyone in the room. Everyone nodded and they moved to their choppers or planes, depending where you were stationed.
The atmosfere was an excited, especially amongst the Batfamily members. But (Y/N) wasn't really that excited. There was a layer of fear. He... Knew just how much they were capable of. He was once hunted by them.
That was one of the reasons why he was in Gotham.
" Hey, you okay? " Damian asked, as they sat down at the back of the Batwing.
" Yeah, just... You know, there are nerves involved. It's not easy to fight the Light. " (Y/N) answered, trying to not make Damian worry. Damian looked at him for a few more seconds then sat down next to him.
He bumped his knee against (Y/N)'s, clearly not believing him. (Y/N) tilted his head, clearly telling him don't do it now. Damian let out a TTs and just leaned his head back.
(Y/N) leaned back too, closing his eyes.
What if he sees his father there? Or anybody from his past? Jason glanced at (Y/N), seeing his hands were clenched. Jason knew him good enough to know that this was reaction to fear.
He quietly nudged Tim's knee. Tim looked at him, then Jason shook his head towards (Y/N). Tim was also intrigued. Dick was now involved too, wondering what is happening. After being brothers for so long, they mastered the art of silent communication.
Tim subtly pointed at (Y/N)'s fist. Still clenched. Dick's brow raised. Why would (Y/N) be afraid? Sure, the Light is not easy to go up against. But they weren't afraid. (Y/N) had fought with a few members and he was good.
So what was the problem?
Even Damian noticed, also intrigued by (Y/N)'s reaction. The four brothers started talking with their eyes.
Is he connected to the Light?
Why in God's name is he afraid?
Does this have anything to do with his past?
Is the Light reason why he came to Gotham?
Maybe their answers could be answered today. Maybe.
They were on the carrier now. They knocked out a few guards and moved in. They didn't trigger the alarm yet, so this is good. Damian and (Y/N) moved together, watching each others back.
They moved slowly and quietly. They groaned quietly when the alarms started blaring. Damian let out a TTs, clearly annoyed now. They could hear the footsteps of the guards.
They got around the corner, stopping. They hid and just waited for the guards to come.
The guards were out like a light. They moved further in. Everything is supposed to be okay.
Well, Jason and explosives have to disagree. The carrier was now tilted on the right side and Damian and (Y/N) fell to the right.
" Hi everyone! So, a change of plans. I may or may have not destroyed an engine. " Jason said, making everyone groan over the comms.
" What did you do?! " (Y/N) asked, trying to stand up and steady himself.
" I was fighting back, okay? " Jason snapped back sarcastically.
" Oh my dear God. " (Y/N) said, clearly not impressed.
" Come on (Y/N). We have to go. " Damian said, moving on.
(Y/N) sighed, pulling up the schematics of the place. It took a long time for Bruce to find these schematics, but they were very helpful.
" Robin, get ready to hack. My guess is that it's under lock down. " (Y/N) said, moving faster. Damian and (Y/N) were near the central room. Damian got down on his knee, hacking into the terminal.
" Robin and I are ready to breach. " (Y/N) said into the comms.
" Good. Get as much intel as you can. " Batman said.
(Y/N) shut off the comms, swearing quietly as he heard guards coming.
" I will stall them. "
Damian nodded and (Y/N) dropped kicked a guard, knocking him out. The ship shook once more and an explosion started, knocking (Y/N) back. There was a hole in the floor, a huge one. (Y/N) could hear Damian screaming his name, but the explosion knocked him unconscious.
Bruce carried (Y/N) to the Batcave. It was a race against time. Alfred was notified and was ready to take him into the make shift OR. Bruce never felt so afraid and scared for (Y/N). After (Y/N) was taken care of, Bruce had to take care of Damian.
He knew that Damian was going to feel guilty. He knew it. He sent the other 3 to the showers.
" Damian. " Bruce started, kneeling down in front of Damian. " You are not guilty for what happened. You couldn't have known. Alright? " Bruce said, putting his hand at the back of Damian's neck and brought him into a hug.
Damian was pliant as Bruce brought him into a hug. Damian just nodded and pulled himself out after a few moments.
" I'm going to hit the showers. " Damian said, walking towards the showers.
Bruce stood up, looking at the make shift OR. He knew that Alfred was going to do everything in his power to make sure that (Y/N) fully recovers.
" Masters, I have some news... " Alfred said, solemn and dead serious.
Everyone was worried and on edge. Alfred sighed and tried to compose himself.
" I had to take a few few photos. I'm still shaken. " Alfred said, handing the photo to Bruce.
Bruce was confused and his heart fell down into his stomach. Scars... Scars all over his body. Stomach. Back. Arms. Legs. And they weren't fresh, but old. Who did this to him.
" We have to speak with him when he wakes up. " Bruce said, turning the photos over.
Jason walked out and Bruce knew he had to blow off some steam. The others were just silent.
They were going to over come this. They would help him.
After a few days, (Y/N) started waking up. He looked down and saw that his body was bandaged. Why was hi- Oh God. Oh nonononononono- His breath hitched and it got stuck in his throat. He couldn't breath. He heard beeping and a few moments later, he heard a few voices.
He saw Bruce's face and his voice. He gripped (Y/N)'s hand and (Y/N) gripped back.
" Tell me what you see. " Bruce said, gripping (Y/N)'s hand back a little bit tighter.
" You, Alfred, b-bandages.. " He was calmer, breathing more regular. Bruce knew that he wouldn't appreciate the hug and the close proximity.
" So, I guess you want to know about... This. " (Y/N) said, pointing at the bandages.
" We know you may not want to talk about it, but we want to help you." Bruce said, sitting down on the edge of the bed, still holding (Y/N)'s hand, but still giving him space.
(Y/N) took a deep breath and started. He told them about his father and his clan and how (Y/N) was trained as a weapon. He described the trainings and Damian was appalled by it.
Damian forced himself to stay calm.
And Jason wanted to punch something when he heard about the punishments. He forced himself to breath. This was about (Y/N).
Damian felt physically sick. Dick was pale and had to sit down. Tim was silent, trying to be calm, just like Jason.
The four of them just wanted to hug their brother.
" I ran at around 10 years old and ended up in Gotham. And the rest is history. " (Y/N) said, wiping his tears.
Bruce couldn't control his urge to hold (Y/N). He hugged him tightly and the others came in. They were pissed at the things and they reassured him that he is safe. They gave him their word that they would protect him.
If they ever saw his father, they will drag him to hell to meet his creator. No matter what Bruce said.

My favorite things from episode 5.04 âŠin no particular order
- Paul talking to the rats as he enters the house. Brian absolutely served this episode in every way but he is a master at the comedic bits.
- TK breaking open the elevator doors to find what floor they're on. it was such a small little moment but you love to see it.
- Wyatt's 'thank you, robot" they're making me love him, I fear.
- Judd, still, five season in, cannot operate that damn espresso machine. and it's endearing as hell.
- Paul screaming like a prepubescent on a roller coaster for the first time when he fell in that old lady's house and found... the stuff he found... was not expecting that. and I died laughing.
- the way TK and Nancy looked at each other before launching to a giant soap opera conspiracy theory of SABOTAGE. they are tuned into the same brain wave frequency... unfortunately for everyone around them that frequency is called DRAMA.
- getting some more backstory for Paul, just a little bit more of his history, and his insecurities and his fears. and watching him overcome them to be the lieutenant owen knew he could be. đ„șđ„ș
- owen's little fist pump in the air after paul's 'you just gave me a compliment sandwich didn't you?'
- the way TK dropped that shuffleboard thing when Paul yelled out 'you're damn right it's a problem' he was like... uh oh. gonna put this down now.
- marjan's 'are you and Asha coming to hang this weekend or what?' and TK's 'love you, LT!!'... THE 126 IS FAMILY AND THEY LOVE PAUL. no promotion is gonna change that!!!
- Paul. just everything about Paul in this episode goes on this list. if it involved Paul and I didn't mention it above... just insert it. right. here.

Veilguard Companion First Impressions
So, Iâve finally recruited all the companions for the Veilguard! And as such, I thought Iâd share my initial thoughts on them each.
Please keep in mind that as the title says, these are just my first impressions. I am nowhere near finishing the game yet. My thoughts very well may change after getting to know the characters more as the story progresses. Also, please do not take any opinions you do not share as a personal attack against you.
Bellara
Bellara might be my #1 favourite.
Iâve seen some people just say Bellara is âa Merrill rip-offâ but I donât think thatâs fair at all. If all it took was a few similarities to say a character is a rip-off of another character, than I can think of so many boring white cishet male characters who would be guilty of that. But heaven forbid we get more than one elven woman who is passionate about her peopleâs culture and history!
Frankly, I think Bellara is a breath of fresh air in terms of Dalish characters specifically. Finally, a Dalish elf who isnât punished for being proudly Dalish by the narrative.
I also really appreciate that so much of her can be easily understood by her backstory, too. Like, her feelings of never being good enough is reflective of the very realistic grief she is experiencing.
Lucanis
If Bellara isnât my #1 favourite, then Lucanis is. They really both dominate that spot neck in neck. I canât decide if I want to put him in a jar and shake it to see what happens, or wrap him up tight in a quilt and give him some good coffee.
Iâm just a sucker for Lucanisâs character archetype, is the thing. I love taking him out simply because heâs so much fun to have around. And in terms of companion arcs, his is the one I am most intrigued to see where it goes.
Taash
(While I havenât personally gotten to Taashâs non-binary plot yet, I am aware Taash switches to they/them pronouns, so thatâs what Iâll be using.)
The moment I met Taash felt my heart skip a beat. The only thing hotter than their appearance is their voice. I know BioWare probably left Taash out of a lot of the advertising because they wanted to keep Taashâs gender stuff a surprise, but oh my god, because of this I was taken by quite the surprise. And so far Taash seems to be the type to keep a hard outer shell to protect a much softer side, and that is yet another character archetype I really love.
Davrin
My initial gripe about Davrinâs writing being so exclusively about Assan rather than Davrin himself is slowly peeling away, I hope. While I still think its bullshit that you can welcome Assan into the Veilgaurd but not Davrin, at least Iâve finally gotten a few bits of dialogue to get to know more about him finally. I just want to keep this momentum! Because Davrin as a concept has so much potential, in my opinion, and what little bits I have gotten from him have captivated me. But I canât tell yet if itâs intentionally part of his character that maybe heâs just a closed off person who takes a while to trust others, (a little like Taash?) Or if the writer just cared more about griffons than the actual guy. Iâm really, really holding out hope for the former.
Emmrich
Emmrich is so much more charming than I expected, and I found him instantly endearing the moment we met him. I also really like that weâre finally hearing some different stances and insight on death and necromancy than we ever had before from a companion! It makes him feel so fresh and completely new!
Harding
Iâll be real with you: I was not anticipating caring about Harding so much. She was who I was originally least interested in, when the companion line-up was announced. But the direction theyâre taking her in has me questioning so much about bigger lore questions.
Unfortunately, I still donât see much in her except being a vessel for those bigger lore questions, though. Like, Harding as a person has me mildly curious at best.
Neve
Iâm really sorry Neve fans, but I just find her really boring so far, in comparison to everyone else. She doesnât have a lot going on, and what she does have going on, doesnât really captivate me much. Maybe I was just hoping sheâd have stronger stances on things than she does? I donât know.
It could be that I just really fucked up with Neve, and it wonât be until another playthrough that Iâll get to experience more that will change my mind. Because I will admit I am very good at picking choices she disapproves of, with my first Rook.

A while ago I had made up a Zak for each day of the week to match Zak Saturday and Monday for fun, and because I wanted to give Zak some more AU similar to how Ben gets a lot of them. So not only do they all have different last names, but each have their own backstories and colour theming! So I hope you enjoy my little AU concepts.
-Zak Saturday-
Classic original Zak. I decided to draw them all when they're 11, start of the series vibes. So that's why he doesn't look like the ways I normally draw him currently, since those are when he's 14. Nothing different with his design here, beyond still giving him those vivid orange eyes.
-Zak Sunday-
Also known as Zak Argost, having been taken in by the man after he had a certain encounter with Zak's parents, resulting in their deaths. When Argost found the young toddler, seeing the start of Zak's power, he was happy enough to take the child with him and use his powers to his benefit. Due to being taken when he was very young, Zak doesn't remember his parents at all, fully believing in anything Argost tells him, the only family he has. So he happily helps his guardian in keeping cryptids tamed during Weird World shows, or during trips to learn about them, even if Argost puts Zak in more danger than he should. Due to his appearances on Weird World, Zak is a celebrity of sorts, even if he doesn't get to go out often. Argost also gives him a lot of gifts, keeping the child in a positive mood to keep him under his thumb. So Zak truly believes that Argost cares about him.
Though things start to turn when Argost finally decides it's time to hunt down Kur and take his powers, hiring Van Rook and Doyle on the mission. This leads to Zak and Doyle getting to know each other, with Doyle feeling protective over this random kid for some reason. Eventually this leads to him taking Zak away when this whole Kur business gets out of hand. While Doyle can't seem to convince Zak that Argost doesn't care about him, the pair do at least agree to try and find Kur first, Zak worried that even Argost shouldn't handle such powers. However, only time will tell if the pair discover the truth behind their unknown family history.
-Zak Monday-
The good old twisted gremlin of a child, Zak Monday and his family were a result of the smoke mirror. They come from a world that twists the very nature of people, a poor reflection of their negative aspects. If you're naive, then your mirror self is incredible dumb. If you're a bit of a perfectionist, then your mirror self is a control freak. And Zak Monday represents the twisted doubts of Zak feeling like a monster, so why have any doubts when you can be the monster?
I decided to change Zak Monday a bit to have the green eyes and green shirt with his own logo, cause I liked the idea that after his first appearance, they switch back to what they're suppose to look like. But other than that I kept the concept of him looking just like Zak, minus the inverted hair colour.
-Zak Tuesday-
The young naga is the son of Rani Nagi. Born solely to have Kur's soul enter and be a host, but whoops! Looks like Kur's memories aren't there, but that wasn't going to stop Rani Nagi, who thinks if she keeps at her plans, eventually her son will become the old cryptid king she once knew. Even going as far as to solely call her child Kur, who secretly calls himself Zak due to him often watching humans in the shadow, curious about them and wanting a name for himself. Zak Tuesday has a lot of identity issues, not helped by his mother's teachings towards him, ignoring all his dreams and personal thoughts. Eventually he just got really good at lying rather than convincing Rani Nagi.
However, the young cryptid prince is suddenly kidnapped by Argost one day, as he figured out where Kur's soul was currently living. Zak knew he would have died that day if not for Drew and Doc recusing him, having been chasing Argost over this Kur situation. Though they're a little surprise that upon meeting the new Kur, they find it's just a young naga who really doesn't know who he is. At first Doc and Drew didn't know what to do with him, but Zak begged them to not send him back home, and let him stay at their place until he could figure things out. He wasn't foolish, he knew the nagas were planning a war, and he wasn't keen on being the face of it all. So now the Tuesdays just have a snake living around the house, but they can't exactly complain as he is a well mannered guest at least. And perhaps the house doesn't feel so lonely with him around either.
-Zak Wednesday-
Some of you might recognize this one, but this Zak is from my old Zur AU, where Kur was reborn via the Kur Stone due to it being an egg, and Zak is a dragon that shapes between human form and dragon form. I decided to update him, making him Zak Wednesday now, with a pink theme! I also decided that instead of Kur being reborn, I wanted to shake things up a bit and have it that Zak was directly Kur's son. His mother is unknown, and as Kur saw how the world was at the time, he put Zak's egg into a stasis situation until it was discovered again. After saving it from Argost, the egg hatched among the secret scientist, leading to them chasing the child of Kur. But upon using his shapeshifting abilities to look like a child of Drew and Doc, they just couldn't help but adopt him on the spot, siting there was no sense in blaming Kur's son over what happened years ago.
The growing dragon is very playful with a cheeky personality. He exhibits a lot of draconic behaviors, with a wild and free spirit. He is aware of his family history, but he doesn't like to think about it, unsure in how to view his father based on the stories he's heard. Besides, Doc and Drew are his parents, and that's all that matter to him. Though perhaps this sudden appearance by Argost, claiming he was going to far Zak's father, has been a bit rattling to deal with.
-Zak Thursday-
When Kur knew he was going to die, and also knew his soul wasn't able to live the mortal realm, he made plans to make it so his reborn self would both be born in hopefully a better time, and be without his memories. It was better that way, so that his new self could live a lovely life without the sins from his past. But that didn't exactly pan out properly, as Kur was reborn and sadly remembers everything. It took him a while to understand this growing up, his young human mind not processing it until he was roughly 7-8, and even then he needed time to think about it. And now he's a depressed 11 year old who now has to be stuck with the fact his plan didn't work, unable to run away from the person he once was. Doc and Drew found out the truth when Zak tried running away one day, their son sitting them down and telling them the truth in hopes they'd just leave him, it would be better that way. But to his surprise they disagreed, as he was still their son, Kur or Zak, and it would be too dangerous to leave him alone.
So now Zak lives with his parents? Are they really his parents? The family keeping this dark secret to themself, even from the other scientists. Doc and Drew still reach out to their son, doing their best to connect with him, but he can't help but push them away. He doesn't deserve this, and they deserve better. However, their secret might come out after Argost stole the Kur Stone and now hunts for Kur, not realizing the truth right in front of him. So now the family tries to get the stones back, wanting to protecting Zak/Kur from others finding out. Doesn't help that he has to go through being a child again with such dark memories lingering in his head, feeling tired and overwhelmed with the world. Hasn't he suffered enough?
-Zak Friday -
In a world where Kur and cryptids successfully wiped out humans, the king ruled the lands for a while after, before one day he mysteriously vanished. Many concluded that he had died somehow, the details unknown, but this lead to a prophecy that one day their king would return, leading to many claiming to be him, or praying that they will be him for the power and wealth. In this universe, Zak and his family are all cryptids, with Zak being a a Chuvash Dragon, Drew and Doyle are Epimeliads, and Doc is a Gargoyle (Other characters are also cryptids in this timeline). Zak is a serpent like dragon that breathes fire, as a very twistable body, and can freely shapeshift. He's heard about the legend of Kur returning, but frankly he thinks they don't need him, even if the cryptid world has been shattered without a king for years now.
But when a yeti named Argost claims that Kur is back, being backed up by the Nagas, everyone starts to gossip and run around trying to figure out who the new Kur is. So maybe it's best that Zak doesn't tell the whole world about his sudden new powers to control and communicate any fellow cryptid is walks by.

I donât know if I subscribe to the âsans is from Deltaruneâ idea, I donât think I do, but I think anyone who does should embrace feminism and accept that if he is from Deltarune, Alphys is, too.
People note the fact that sans and Papyrus donât have a specific backstory in UT as evidence that they came from DR, with QC simply saying that they showed up one day and asserted themselves into town. Well, in Undertale, Alphys also doesnât have an early history either. We donât even know how old she is in comparison to other characters, like Undyne who speaks about training with Asgore in childhood, and Toriel and Asgore with their hundreds of years old history. THIS is the earliest bits of info we have on her.
She sought out Catty and Bratty⊠and then she sought out Mettaton⊠weird, huh? Almost like sheâs trying to find things that are familiar ;)
People also bring up Sansâs crossword puzzle with a picture of Ice-E printed on it. A very strange thing indeed, considering we donât see Ice-Eâs Pezza mentioned anywhere else. Or⊠or do we? Because thereâs a silly little fun value event you can get in Snowdin, in which a character with a familiar sound to her text tries to prank call a pizzeria. A character who is like. Absolutely, obviously Alphys. But there is no pizzeria in the underground as far as we know, rightâŠ?
Sans has al Ice-E, Alphys has a pizza⊠the fact that both moments, and the chance to speak to Clamgirl about Suzy and find the âDonât Forgetâ note, have fun values assigned to them is very telling. Wether it actually adds to the tinfoil hat theory Iâm pitching or not, Iâm gonna stay convinced that this event IS meant to be a Deltarune joke from Toby
And this is not the only secret Sans and Alphys share. The two are connected in a way that is never explicitly discussed or revealed. Most people brushed it off as them having maybe worked together on the amalgamates, but there is nothing in Alphyâs entries that could indicate this aside from some of them being written poorly.
and yet, they know each other so well, Alphys can predict his jokes before he says them.
But how can I prove that they know each other from Deltarune, specifically?
I canât lol thatâs not how these theories work
But the reason âSans is from Deltaruneâ became so wide spread and believable in the first place is because it answered the question of what he had hidden in his lab, and where it was that he wanted to return to. It solved the secret of his machine.
Well, my theory explains why Alphys had her name written in barely legible handwriting all over said machineâs blueprints. They were trying to return to Deltarune.
Wake UP âSans is from Deltarune truthers, Alphys stocks are higher than theyâve ever been- even when compared to Undertaleâs popularity peak in 2016. It is time to capitalize on it.
#this is pure. waiting for the newsletter brainrot dont listen to me#undertale#deltarune#utdr#alphys#sans undertale#sans deltarune#my post#deltarune theory

What are your predictions for Deltarune Chapters 3-4 ?
Hmmm, let's see...
I think Susie and Ralsei are going to work out very quickly that Kris was the one to create this fountain. Susie's going to brush it off like "Okay yeah I get why you would, it's okay we'll just have fun and seal the fountain when we're done anyway!" and Ralsei will try and act like it's not a problem, when he clearly is bothered by it, and this will start to build up some tension between Ralsei and Kris.
I am open to Toriel being another side party member, less convinced yet that we'll be seeing another adult like Undyne or Napstablook there as well. I do not think we'll be getting a Snowgrave repeat where Toriel is manipulated into killing Undyne or anything like that. If there's a weird route continuation here, it'll be handled very differently.
I don't think we'll be seeing more of the Dreemurr household in the dark world; it'll just be focused on what's on the TV. We've already got a few possibilities for areas: a cooking show, the weather report, and the monster movie, plus we do keep getting hints that the western show may show up in some capacity.
To that end...hopefully a Susiezilla sequence for the monster movie part!
Unsure of what Mike's role will be in here, but I'm anticipating Tenna as the main big bad for this Dark World.
I don't think anyone has guessed the secret boss for chapter three yet, and I don't think anyone will. Thusfar for secret bosses, there's been no hints of them from other places, and you have to go out of your way to find them. Their function as Darkners made from discarded/forgotten objects makes sense in hindsight, but isn't obvious from the get-go. All we know is that we'll need the shadow mantle for a future secret boss, and that that's missing now.
At the end of chapter three, Asriel is going to call on the landline phone and talk to Toriel briefly, but WE won't get to actually communicate with him and it's going to drive me bonkers.
We know less about chapter four, except for some very basic things...Susie and Kris have a few scenes talking out in the light world, and it's raining some of that time. It could either go the direction of an all-light world chapter, or another dark world they explore the next day.
Assuming it's the latter and there's another dark world (which makes more sense to me), I feel the best location options are the hospital, the church, and Asgore's flower shop. If there's a thread started in chapter three getting into more of the Dreemurr family history and Kris's place in it (which does seem to be the case), Asgore's shop seems the best bet to continue that thread next, so I'm going to predict Asgore's shop for chapter four.
Since that's a flower shop and all, a more Alice In Wonderland sort of theming seems likely, with more of a jungle/wild area that the Fun Gang has to explore compared to the city and sound stage areas of previous chapters.
I am expecting Catti (and potentially also Jockington) to be future Dark World partners, and either chapter four or chapter five seems a good option for that.
I think Catti is necessary as a partner 1) because of her occult history with Kris, 2) her focus on protecting Noelle, who I could see showing up in the Dark World again as early as chapter four or five, and 3) her clearly having beef with Susie.
If we're dealing with Kris's family history through chapters 3 and 4, I can see that then going into more of Susie's backstory and whatever is going on with her family. I get the feeling that Catti knows some secret about Susie that makes her dislike her more than just "she stole Jockington's hat once", and that will need to be resolved in conjunction with learning more on Susie's situation.
Every day in-game that big-headed blue bird monster is going to reveal another shelf in the second floor of the library, which will slowly give more worldbuilding lore, and it's going to be maddening just getting those little crumbs of info one at a time.
We'll be getting more Knight hints, but not a real reveal until chapter five.
