this is the beginning of what i call "the storm". wai starts taking action while pushing into motion something a lot bigger. he also starts figuring out who or what talay is and what kind of things he can do (plus how those things connect him to wai).

Reader is an Archfey! A rather powerful one too, perhaps more powerful then Merasmus pretends to be. They could turn cities to ash with a snap of their fingers, grant someone their greatest wish (for a price, that is how wishes work).

Thankfully for everyone, Reader is actually super benevolent and chill. The kind of person that is extraordinarily difficult to piss off. Unlike much of their kin, Reader only really causes very minor amounts of mischief, like hiding people's socks or conjuring extra tupperware lids in one's cupboard.

I also have a LOT to share (and i mean a lot truly), so below there's more for anyone interested

gushing time!! well first of all, Corpse Bride is my fave stop motion movie so i couldn't not do this prompt, so thank you so much Bree for also having such a great prompt

i also loved the other prompt and thought of doing it at first, but the whole "drawing a dragon" thing overwhelmed me a little and i didn't have enough time to do it justice (i started actually drawing like a week or two ago since uni kept me busy until the start of december T.T)... maybe some other day ill do it tho, i really liked the whole fantasy au idea!!

now, i also gotta say thanks to @purplecelestial-buddy for helping me out getting the story for the illustration! while i couldn't write a fic or comic i did go all out on the setting so i could decide who'd be who for the au, and here's my whole reasoning:

(i hope this is readable i didn't realize it was so much text >.<)

the scene i chose to illustrate is pretty much at the start of the movie, but for this au it would be way closer to the ending. after kagi has realized he actually does love hirano and i thought it would be a much more intimate moment of them deciding to stay together in the underworld

now onto the illustration itself! i really thought through what they would wear for this, according to the time period and their situations.

Corpse bride doesn't have a set year (as far as i know) but it would probably be around the 1890's and so i decided to set Kagi in that decade. the light blue color probably isn't accurate but i did want to keep it close to Emily's palette. Also, since he probably escaped from home at night i gave him an outdoor/everyday suit

for hirano, he's set in the 1900's. men's clothing doesn't change much between decades so leaned more into what "party" suit would look like, something you'd wear at a ball so its not as warm, the coat shape is a bit different and his vest is shorter too (plus the bow tie!)

Hi! i was reading this lovely post of yours, and i got stuck on you mentioning that buck's neutral color is grey. because when i made my cheers post i thought "aw they're wearing the same colors in both scenes. except their saturation(?) are reversed? idk what that means but it's nice to look at :D". (it made me feel like watching gifsets of madney's pregnancy reveal scenes and realizing they're wearing the exact same colors :D) but after reading your post i went back to look at mine and i'm realizing i actually can't tell if buck is wearing dark grey or dark brown??? but both colors work with the scene, and so does the ambiguity. it's the end of this brown era for buck. it's the start of a "coming back (coming home👀) to his colors" era.

Also, seeing eddie go from maroon to pink is really interesting. i don't remember what are your thoughts/analysis of eddie and maroon but i know you've mentioned it before.

Maybe the next Buddie Couch scene, they'll be wearing black and white? i wouldn't know how to interpret that xD but it would make a really nice gifset

Hello love, I did write a meta on Eddie and the maroon, it goes with my Buck and green post (tho my conclusion there might be off because something I forgot to consider when adding the pink from the bachelor party is that that is a costume, so different rules), but I'm pretty sure Buck's jacket is supposed to be black. I think they are in a weird mirror of the bachelor party tbh. But they are also in a switch of saturation from recovery.

Buck is inverted, he is in a black jacket and dark green shirt, contrasting the white and mint, and Eddie has the pink shirt with the raised collar in contrast to the way he lost his shirt the last time, he lost the rest this time. The pink actually pays into the sense of naivety, they were using that a lot in s7 in that sense, and it's interesting considering maroon can be used to demonstrate wisdom, so the contrast of Eddie allowing himself to let go in the "naive" color and Buck searching for advice while Eddie is in the wisdom color is fun when you consider the visual parallels between recovery and confessions. They're both starting over in a sense. I do think that Buck is finally going to allow himself to find color again, and the use of green as Buck's something wrong color will always be fascinating because it is a color associated with growth and new beginnings, so even if he's being misguided, he is allowing himself the opportunity to reach for more, that paired with the brown, that has the whole stability and warmth connotations paired with the isolation and loneliness connotations, means Buck is in a very interesting spot to go back to his bright blues and reds.

I don't know about the black and white specifically, but I am maybe 75% sure that Edddie will play in lighter colors while searching for his true color (Eddie's yellow here we go) while Buck goes back to the darker colors while trying to go back to his blue. Honestly, I would expect Eddie in pastel colors while Buck is moving around darker ones, most likely going back to grey tones, leaving the brown that's been heavily associated with Tommy behind, and navy blue.

i love him so much??? his ambient banter with your other companions about his relationship with rook makes me have so many feels (♡ヮ♡) . there's one line when he's talking to emmerich where he's like "i just like being around them they just make me happy" and i was like SAME BUDDY T.T I also love how his advice to emmerich's gifting works out (he suggests giving his bf knives) and emmerich's like "that was good advice!!!" and he's like "it was?? that has never worked for me" like he's so cute and kinda self deprecating? he's such an interesting character - assured and confident at his job but kind of surprised something nice has happened to him relationship wise. (emmerich's like "oh thank you for that advice" and lucanis is like "oh but rook's advice was prob better" and emmerich was like "yours was great! my bf actually collects knives so he loved that" XD) (it's hard not to constantly have him in my party, like who is coming with me and lucanis, friends? it's also usually emmerich tho i also love his interactions with taash and bellara and his evolving friendship with davrin. i have forced myself to have other combos tho, i do love everyone's banter. having that distinctly bioware problem where i absolutely want to do other romances but will have a hard time not romancing him like 50 more times* T.T polycule included when dragon age) i wish you got to have more directed asides with your romantic partner like even it's just to chat or make out a bit (they're def following more of the da2/mass effect format of making you do story stuff to unlock companion content- which is probably best but also) *because of this i'm not sure if ill ever be able to make that other choice since it locks him out completely and that's too sad for me.

The little branchy-offy things are prequels/sequels of that particular series. Bleeped out things I thought might be spoiler-y to ongoing series. Things with * are super WIP-y titles because I dunno what to call them.

More ramblings under the cut! (Nothing spoilery for the ongoing series; just vague things!)

No Heroes Zone // - I have a lot more generalized worldbuilding, character notes, ect than actual stories. The story ideas are mostly vague/short... Though, I suppose I could stand to write some super short fics. - The exception is an angsty sonighty fic that's basically done, but I just have to fill in all the inbetween, connecty bits. And decide how sonighty-y I really want to go with it. That ship came outta nowhere, I tell ya. - NHZ is really mostly Tails (and Metal) angst, tho. The other day I was thinking about how he tries to latch onto Shadow and even Metal in the absence of having Sonic and was like "Wow, Tails, clingy much? What are you, Nine???" then I felt really bad. T-T; He just misses his brother...!

Kaleidoscope // - The name of this fic is based on an art piece I've been wanting to do for forever: A kaleidoscope of Tails/Nine/Mangey, looking at each other and seeing them each from their own perspective. Because that's the theme of the whole story, funky scifi weirdness aside. But uh, 1) didn't have a decent digital art program for a bit and 2) I'm not good enough at drawing the subtle differences in their appearances to really make it hit how I wanted. Also 3) Tails looks basically the same to all three of them, lmao. - "Mangey Remembers" is Mangey's backstory and "Loneliness*" is... Less of a backstory for Nine, more of a brief showcase of his character in general. Because we already know Nine's whole deal from canon. Same reason Tails doesn't have a backstory- he's supposed to be canon Tails. - "Starless Sky" and "Ruination*" are both poteeeential sequels, but I'm not set on doing them. Ruination would just be a short, noncanon "what if?" bad ending for the heck of it.

Someplace AU (Aquarius) // - Also halfway calling it Aquarius for now because I ended up continuing the first part of the story under that fic name.

- It was originally more focused on Sails, hence Someplace being a play on No Place. But now it's about equally Kit and Sails. I ended up getting SO MANY effing ideas for these dudes, man. ;w;

- "Hollow Existence*" isn't a specific story, but just a sprinkling of scenes/backstory bits that detail why Kit is the way he is. Mostly his relationship with Surge growing up.

- "Sails' Tales" is likewise a collection of random Sails backstory bits. I have a lot more specific/fleshed out things for him, though. BUDDY, did I have fun with the No Place lore. Also, his relationships with Catfish and Black Rose are so cute... ;A;

- The bits to the right are basically going to be chapters in Aquarius. They're vague enough not to be spoilery (other than the blipped ones...)

- "=D?" is a sequel that I'm very excited about. Probably shouldn't say much beyond that.

Everything Else // - CaveTails is a Journey to the Center of the Earth-esque silly, silly thing. That could maybe become a bit more serious? BAsically, I was thinking "Huh, kind of weird that my main kittails fic is with Sails. That'd be funny if I did ones with Nine and Mangey, too. Just for the lulz. Especially the Mangey one." This is the Mangey one. xD Except he's sort of like... Tails AND Mangey at the same time, character-wise? So? :? Also, potentially some wholesome Sonic+Tails moments because I weirdly haven't written any of those yet.

- "Kids" is just a continuation of that goofy Tails Doll+Cream oneshot. Just small ideas for another chapter or two. Cute friendship, fluff, and lots of comfort to make up for the hurt in the first chapter. :3;;

- "Alien*" is what it says on the tin. I have a couple different ideas for how it could go. One of them boots out Silver entirely and had Metal in his place. xD But I might have enough material to write an alien Silver AND alien Metal fic. We'll see whenever I get around to it. :3

- "Nine's Shadow*" is something I've wanted to write ever since I made that joke oc, Stales the Fox aka Zombie Tails variant from the Grim. Probably just a oneshot (or a few short chapters) fic that mostly focuses on Nine being "all alone" after the ending of Sonic Prime.

- "Why is Babies?*" is the second idea I had for a fic. It's just Shadow being awkward and not knowing how to look after a chunk of the main cast that are suddenly tots for unknown reasons. It's very lighthearted, comedic, and cute. Originally a Shadow+Metal fic until I learned more about Eclipse and just HAD to include him. Dude is literally a struggling single parent in canon, how could I not include him in a story about his brother going through something similar? xD Also, I might call this fic "Rascals" as a reference to that one Star Trek episode with a similar premise. Because! Star Trek. 8D

- "The Fifth Element" ... I have put off posting anything about this fic idea for so long because I'm EMBARRASSED IT'S SO STUPID AND CORNY DON'T LOOK AT ME,,, In case you're totally lost, the 1997 film of the same name is my. Favorite movie. So naturally, this was my first idea for a fic. It's so all-over-the-place tonally, though. Obviously, got a LOT of silly, especially the parts that follow the movie almost exactly. But I also added a lot of original bits that help flesh out the characters' relationships. The protag is Shadow, who is very, very soft and introspective in it. Which, like, how did that happen??? But I love it. Metal is his co-lead and is mostly goofy because he's a fish out of water. Sonic is VERY, VERY goofy like goddamn (he's Ruby Rod- if you know, you know). Then there's just the silliest shit ever like Silver. Silver is Shadow's cat. It's stupid, but it's also fun, and maybe even matters to the plot. You don't know. Blaze is the president. Dr. Starline, Surge, Eggman, and The End are in it. Tails has the smallest part of any of my fics, but I think I cast him well. I need to stop now or I never will. Don't look at me. xDD

I've been thinkin bout that bt scene. Obviously I might be totally wrong but idk, I feel like T kinda muttered "god I hope so" into his wine glass & not directly at Buck & he was being maybe kinda insecure, like in his head maybe since we assume he's older & more experienced he might think that's why Buck is sticking around?

Like idk, it's a call back somehow to the first date and the closet comment? Like T wants this to work out because he thinks Buck is adorable but you know they aren't really clicking so ya know whatever works? (But eventually it will fully break down)

And the way Buck said "but you think I do?" about the daddy issues is like Buck goin "....wait what?" in his head because his head does tilt a bit to the side like 🤔🤔🤔 And it's showing that they don't fit.

That it was intentionally weird & off putting.

Tho I do think the bit where T says "but your father is alive" wasn't meant to be snarky. Buck then says "Exactly" which I took as Buck being all "exactly, my dad's just THAT shitty and he's not going to change."

Off course then the speech Buck gave Chris is a bit eh, but like two things can be true at the same time. XD

Also I'm def not a bt shipper, Buddie all the way but yeah that's just how it came off to me. Lol.

I do keep think that maybe the like off putting moments are intentional because so many weird choices have been made with BT

For the your dad is alive I think I wasn’t super clear on my opinion on it but like I don’t mean he said it to be snarky per say more so that the implications behind that line are things like “you’d feel differently if he wasn’t” or “you can fix things before he does” or as if that’s something to be thankful for or recognise when talking about his pseudo father nearly dying

Like the reason I hate this line isn’t that it necessarily has to be cruel intentions on Tommys part but rather that this sorta narrative gets forced down traumatised peoples throats CONSTANTLY (sometimes with good intentions) and it’s such a bullshit rhetoric and it’s even more bullshit to use that line while talking about this found family/pseudo father he has nearly dying

Also yeah that’s definitely what that “exactly” was meant to be like yup a dead dad would at least be less traumatising, a lot easier to explain, and probably easier on my therapist than this clusterfuck but alas

BUCKS SPEECH TO CHRIS- okay lots of thoughts on this because my mom got confused and picked thought daughter:

Do I love that the writers low-key made it sound like he’s comparing Eddie to the Buckley parents? no I hate it but KR was writing for this ep so what did we expect

Do I think a marginally better way to interpret it is that it was more so continuing that theme of paralleling buck and Chris’ issues? Yes

Are the basic and I mean like the very abstract very simple and nothing further parallels there? Yeah like parent not over their grief causes conflict between parent and child

Other than that no not at all Eddie never involved Chris in this, Kim came over with her Shannon cosplay without telling him, Eddie also never intentionally emotionally harmed Chris while the Buckley parents spent bucks entire life intentionally being the absolute worst™️ and emotionally neglectful and were shit parents to Maddie too by forcing her to pretend her brother didn’t exist while she was a child and mourning said brother

But I also think it’s actually very in character for buck to continue to sympathise with them and cut them an impossible amount of slack by trying to draw parallels to this situation like it’s less trying to paint Eddie more like them and more so using Eddie (someone he cares about and loves and sympathises with deeply) as a frame of reference to mentally try to humanise and sympathise with his own parents - idk if I’m making sense but in my head it makes sense

Like it’s actually a pretty common thing you see with traumatised people they’ll sorta draw parallels that aren’t there between themselves or the people they care about and the people who traumatised them because a lot of traumatised people will just constantly seek to understand that perspective more and sympathise with it like hell I’ve seen it with the people in my life doing it and it’s like woah those situations are very different I need you to recognise that

Alrighty, I just got to the point of Chapter 13 after they talked to Luke and BOY DO I HAVE THOUGHTS. So , can we talk about how straight up unserious Percy is ? Like you NOTICE that this is a kid. Buddy is out on a mission to basically save the world, going around telling Medusa he and his friends are orphans having been left behind by a circus and sightseeing XD Say what you want but that kid is funny af. Love that for him. The whole Medusa thing was CREPPY tho, like- Grover fr just found what basically is his dead uncle's corpse ???????? That's honestly fucked up. (The Uncle Ferdinand jokes were funny as hell tho) I do hold firm onto the believethat the gods are sort of dicks tho. Like, honestly ? I'm surprised there wasn't a half blood revolution yet ! Those poor children are treated HORRIBLY by their parents ! Not to mention that they also gotta deal with all sorts of monsters just because they are the kids of that one specific god. Ngl if I was a demigod I'd be ready to straight up overthrow the gods. Or atleast sue them for all the child neglect they did. Like, damn there seems to be little to no resentment against the gods on the side of the kids besides Percy. How'd that happen ? Does Camp Halfblood just have really good therapists to deal with all that trauma and to keep the kids from going , idk, crazy ? Or do they just flood them with propaganda ???? Idk, just seems a bit weird to me how everyone seems to like the gods when so far most couldn't care less so far OR are doing the bare minimum. The only thing more surprising to me than the fact that no one hates the gods, is how surprisingly well I can get on with the first-person POV ? Like, I JUST realized that. It's just THAT good. Normally I don't rly like first-person , but honestly this is the biggest expection so far ! Percy's POV is just hilarious. Kinda nervous about his dreams tho, idk what to make of them.......... But also, OMFG GROVER WAS THE GUY WHO BROUGHT ANNABETH. Damn does every character have trauma here ? Poor lad. On the topic of Grover tho, that whole backstory with Pan gives me BIG tingels for my traitor theories. When he went on his little rant about humanity and how they ruined nature, he very clearly called Percy human. He sees Percy as part of a group he seemingly dislikes to atleast some degree.

Grover also has a sort of legacy he thinks he needs to fullfill ? With many (if not all) members of his family having been seekers. Like, what if Pan IS actually dead ? Or atleast in the underworld, and that is why no seeker has ever returned ? Maybe Hades manages to get Grover to betray Percy by offering him Pan ? It is Grover's dream while also being very important to his entier species. It looks like a good motivation for me. Otherwise I rly like the backstory for Grover we have so far. The author did a great job in fleshing him out tbh. He really went from a droky comic-relieve sort of guy to something..... honestly depressing. I really wonder what happened to Pan. But I do think he's most likely dead or somewhere in the underworld, with Hades being the big bad it would think. ANNABETH GOT A HINT TOO THO, during the Luke talk he did mention that you'd have to be invisible to get the Master Bolt. And the Athena Cabin already picked the side against Poseidon when the camp started to splitt. The motivation for her would still stay the same ofcourse, her godly parent. Personally I do still favor Annabeth as traitor, but it could simply be that I just had the theory about her for longer. Honestly both have solid bases for it and I'd be interesting either way. I'm about halfway done now, so I doubt a thrid character will be introduced now to be the traitor. If a new character IS introduced tho, they'd props be the prime suspect for me. But also, thank you Luke for being one of the MOST reliable character in the story so far. Anytime you show off smth good happens for me (either entertainment or more hints for my theory). BUT ALSO HIM CALLING ANNABETH HIS LITTLE SISTER ? ALKQOPÜREINA THAT'S SO CUTE LIKE ????? ugh ngl now I sort of hope it ISN'T Annabeth bc her betraying them would BREAK Luke's heart T-T. Just let them be happy, please. That's all I ask. Let my fav big bro be happy. Please.

Bestie you’ve been around since my constructicon days I appreciate you still sticking around this far xD let’s start with the most infamous aspect about MHA

The quirks. Quirks in mha are basically powers that come with drawbacks, lending what I believe is a rather unique portrayal of superhuman powers in media! And anyone can have them, even the ones that don’t choose the hero course! You can even give these powers fun names! The customization of it all is what makes MHA so fun for OC making! Speaking of, let’s go into these OCS quirks shall we?

Up first is my best buddy @needs-to-stop-looking-at-valves OC Kokomo kiri! Her quirk is titled nightmare noms! She can eat people’s nightmares and create convincing illusions via smoke out of her mouth, using dreams as her fuel she can trick your senses, Can even make you fall asleep by making direct eye contact, her eyes glow when in use but also in the dark! She has a separate stomach purely for storing nightmare fuel so she can go months without eating actual food, is it worrying? Yes, is it still useful? Also yes! Her drawback is she has severe insomnia and overuse of her quirk results in her vomiting this black sludge that if touched can raise ur anxiety, so she’s VERY adamant about people not touching her when she’s sick, or touching her hands, as they are permanently stained black.

This interesting quirk plus kiri being as. vulgar as she is, resulted in her not choosing to go down the hero path cuz she would’ve been too restricted for her liking, So she prefers making support items for hero’s instead! Working behind the scenes in her own lab and is constantly brain storming new ideas in that messy lil brain of hers, she also likes talking in metaphors a lot lol

I really do love her quirk it’s the most complex one in this bunch lol up next is my gal! Cuki kokochi! (Still workshopping that last name)

Her quirk is titled portal pockets, using the pads on her paws she can summon bright glowing portals within the fibers of fabric pockets, can’t do plastic nor paper! And she can summon as many as she wants as well as store as much as she wants! It is an ENDLESS sea of storage! The drawback though? Impossible to organize. making items very hard to find right away, the smaller items are even harder to find! But she makes up for it by being incredibly opportunistic AND getting items in bulk! Bitch heads to costo regularly. But. if she concentrates hard enough, her horns will start to glow and she’ll be able to navigate through her portals with ease. Requires a lotta concentration but she’s got it mostly down!

She and jiji somehow understand what kiri says and are her very own translators, cuki also works as a sidekick!

And this guy, our lil metal man, is Tomanari jishaku! I don’t have much for him drawing wise yet but me and Izzy got a lot of ideas for him! We actually share him lol

(The drawing is outdated obvi but I gotta show his hands!) His quirk is magnet, he has metal protrusions through his arms but the most apparent is his metal fingers with a pad on his palm (might remove that tbh it doesn’t serve much of a purpose)

With the left hand he pushes and with the right he pulls! And if he uses the both of them at the same time he can hold, or crush metal! His drawback is it’s KILLER on his nerves if he overuses it, so hand cramps galore for this poor nervous boy. If he focuses hard enough tho he can even work with smaller metals like in sand! Real earth bender here lol but he’s SUCH an anxious guy who really doubts himself, constantly requires reassurance when he gets too into his own head, it’s why he’s not his own hero and also continues to be a sidekick! He’ll get there eventually I’m sure lol

I have a horrible memory and just recently remembered that as a teen I used to watch this Pokémon High series that had... literally everything. You name it, it was prolly there. I wrote down all I could remember so lemmi copy/paste the important pieces here.

"I never watched the entire thing tho, and always watched the series from episode 640 or 460 {tho due to my bad memory it could've just been 64 or 46}?? Around there. I always watched it from there, never from the start, because my dumbass never knew how to get there.

It was one of those "Highschool AU slideshow" series you'd find on YouTube AGES ago. Except it was a Pokémon High one.

My memory is shit, I don't remember much of the series. But I do remember some specific things.

1: Dark Ash {IFKYK} was actually prominent throughout the episodes I watched specifically, and wasn't just a one-off thing. He was a whole character sometimes. Ash would faint from these possessions tho, as well as with Ash Greninja.

2: Ash and Red were brothers. Not a surprising thing for something like this due to their resemblance, so not THAT shocking."

3: Ash and Red were in a band??? I believe Ash sung and Red played the drums, I may be getting it wrong.

4: N had a Reshiram, Red had a Zekrom, Ash had a Kyrum {I haven't typed those names in ages, sorry if spelt wrong}. I believe it was that order specifically. Hopefully XD

5: There was shipping, of course. The only one I remember being in it though was Ash and Serena-

6: Giovanni was Ash and Red's dad.... and then Dark Ash killed him at some point with shurikens... I told you it had everything-

After 2, the rest of the numbers came from memory when me and my GC of buddies tried to hunt it down, and failed. It was made years ago though, and due to all the other commonly named "Pokémon High" videos... I can't find it. I want closure on the mess I used to watch. Because I always would watch the same episodes and never got past a certain section. I dunno why.
