Domestic life; Ben Hardy x reader
*Author’s note*
Here is a cute little drabble request I got from my Wattpad account, I had hoped to have also posted this yesterday but oh well (I mean the fic doesn’t really revolve around Valentine’s day but it’s still fluffy enough to be counted as such). So enjoy this sweet little drabble.
Warnings: Fluffy till your teeth rot. Lockdowns due to COVID (BUT THAT’S IT. Just the word and mention of just lockdowns in general).

__________________________________________________________
I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, even though I didn’t want to.  My arms raised over my head as I let out a tired groan and stretched myself out and let out a soft yawn.  I then looked over to my left and saw the man of life sleeping right beside me.  His golden locks looked like a halo under the rare chance we had a sunny day in London.
His tattoos exposed from his nightshirt, my favorite of course being his lion nose and mouth tattoo.  Those soft cute snores that came off his lips (even though he tries to deny it), and his chest slowly rising and falling with each breath he took. I raised my hand up and couldn’t help but lightly stroke the shape of his tattoo, very faintly tracing the curve of the nose, sliding my finger down the straight line before swaying across the bottom curve of the mouth.
“You know we could get you a matching set.” Ben’s sleepy baritone voice spoke up.  I looked up at him and said.
“If we did it’d have to be washable. You know how I am around needles.” He chuckled softly and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling me in closer.  “Did you sleep good?”
“I slept great. You?”
“Like a rockfish.” He placed a kiss to my forehead and we just looked into each other’s eyes.  “So what shall it be today?”
“Well you know WandaVision premieres today so wanna check it out?”
“I still can’t believe you made me binge the entire MCU movies during our lockdown.”
“And you loved it admit it. Hell Benny boy you were in the Marvel Universe. Granted it was solely owned by Sony before Disney bought the rights but it’s still the Marvel fandom.”
“So after that, then what shall we do?”
“Well we really can’t go anywhere so……wanna just have a lazy day in? No work out day, order take out for our three meals and maybe—fool around?” I teased with a wink.
“You are a cheeky mix.” He then captured my lips with his.
“Yes but—you did asked me to marry you. Which I’m surprised by the way.”
“What do you mean?” he asked as he began to kiss down my neck.
“Don’t act stupid Ben. I know about that affair with Joe and your little side hustle with Gwil. I swear it’s like I married 3 men instead of 1.”
“You knew what you were getting yourself into when you agreed to marry me.” He said as he hovered over me.
“Yes I know.” He chuckled as he pecked my lips. Then again, and again and again. I giggled and playfully pushed him off of me and said. “Alright you human golden retriever.”
“You know that if I were going to be a dog, I’d be a beagle like Frankie.”
“Nah you’re a golden retriever. Silly, goofy, and loving all the way.” I bopped his nose before getting up and headed downstairs to let Frankie out into the backyard to go pee.
As soon as she saw me, she got out from her bed and I greeted her with a ruffle and scratch on her head.
“Hey there baby girl, ready for breakfast?” her head cocked to the side as her tail began wagging softly. “Come on let’s have breakfast.” She got out of her bed and trailed me to the kitchen.  I reached in and grabbed her dog food and dumbed a good amount into her dog bowl and she immediately started scarfing it down.
I began preparing breakfast and as I cracked the last egg, I felt Ben’s arms wrap around me and felt a kiss at my temple.
“You make the best omelets ever.”
“Flattery will get you nowhere.” I teased him.
“Who says I’m trying to flatter you? I’m stating pure fact.” I smiled at him.
“Well how about you give me a hand here instead of just standing there looking pretty.” He chuckled softly and saluted to me.
“Just tell me what to do Captain.” I then told him what to give me next and I proceeded to finish making the omelets.
Once they were done, Ben and I went over to the living room and I started up Disney+ to play the first 2 episodes of WandaVision.
“Okay so remind me again, is this before or after Endgame?” asked Ben.
“I wanna say this is after Endgame. Again I’ve been a little confused as to the timeline or what exactly is the time period here. All I know is that it’s like a sitcom now. And I can see that they’ve definitely gotten the exact cinematography down. You see how it’s a full screen and them using a single camera.”
“God I love it when you talk cinematography like that.”
“Sorry if I come across as annoying while we watch this.”
“No, no, no, no, no it’s fine. Really. It means you’ve got a good eye for camera angels. Remember when Dexter allowed you to film us when we were doing the We will rock you scene?”
“It was only for 10 minutes while he went to talk with the costuming department and to get him his 10th cup of coffee.”
“Still, he was amazed at the fact you helped with blocking and what you had already filmed. So much so we had it in the film.” I softly smiled and we continued to watch the episode, then watched the second one.
As the day went on, Ben and I kept watching various films as well as taking Frankie out for her walks.  The sun was just starting to set and Ben said.
“Alright one last movie of the day, I feel like if I keep eating more popcorn I won’t be able to fit into these sweats anymore.”
“I wouldn’t mind that. Whether you have a 6 pack or a bit of a pooh bear tummy, I’d love you either way.” He blushed at my compliment and scrunched himself into a ball as I poked his tummy.
“Alright so what shall our last movie be tonight?”
“Well, how about we do Gwil’s movie Top End Wedding?” Ben pondered before saying.
“Okay. Any reason why?”
“Well I—he and I may have talked about that shortly after it came out and I might have told him I’d already seen it when actually I didn’t.” I wearily said.
“Oh I see so you-you lied to my best mate about a movie he was in and wanted your opinion on.”
“Oh coming from you Mr. Oh yes I’ve drummed since I was 12!” I sassed back at him.  He shushed me and covered my mouth with his hand.  I pushed his hand away from my mouth and said. “So can we watch it? I’ve been busy and you know it.”
“Yeah I know love, you know I was just teasing.” He wrapped his arm over my shoulder and switched over to Hulu now and we found Gwil’s movie.  I’ll admit it took me by surprise (I mean based off the trailers I’ve seen it pretty much told the whole story) but the humor and message it sent out really spoke volumes that no other romcom has ever done before.
Plus the aerial shots were just amazing.  The way the cameras would pan over the river or the ridges, you can’t fake that breathtaking view with CGI.  After the movie was over, I let out a soft yawn.
“You tired?” questioned Ben.  I nodded, barely able to keep my eyes open any longer. “Alright, come on then you. Let’s get you into bed.” I moaned softly and held my arms out.
“Carry me.” I heard him chuckle but I felt him lift me up in his arms bridal style and he carried me all the way to our bedroom.
He set me down on the bed and cuddled up close to me before putting the duvet over us.  I automatically placed my head over his chest and placed my arm over his stomach while his arms came around me.
“I had fun today.” I said as I nuzzled into his chest.
“Me too. It’s nice to just kick back and relax for the day. Thank you babe.”
“Anything for my handsome boy.” He kissed the top of my head and soon the two of us cuddled closer (even though I don’t know how much closer we could be at this point) to one another till finally we fell fast asleep.

~
You could swear her skin was glowing. Or at the very least reflecting the colors around her. Soft golden light shone around onto her face from the cracked window next to her chair, and she basked in the light as if she had just won every award the world had to offer. She didn't have the right to be this fucking pretty.
Her golden hair floated around her head, almost literally, forming a halo that made her look even more like an angel. Her skin was only several shades lighter, and her cheeks scrunched up in a way when she laughed that you could only describe as euphoric. Her piercing blue eyes only complimented her features, and your eyes were instantly drawn to her impossible beautiful cheekbones.
If only the woman below that was as beautiful as the face it belonged to.
Carol was the enemy. Not literally, of course. But she was the enemy. Utterly unsympathetic when you had told her about the death of your best friend in the dusting, you had grown to despise her within mere minutes of a word coming out of her mouth.
She laughed like she didn't notice you glaring. And when she finally locked eyes with you, her lips formed a smirk and kept on giggling.
In the brief days that she had returned to earth, she made it her mission to do everything for the sole purpose of lighting rage inside your chest. No one had the right to make you feel this way, least of all her.
She had returned to earth to "check-in." In the past 3 years since the snap, the world had taken a turn for the worst. Not only was every other person gone, but the death toll was slowly rising. Crime rates were increasing, and the suicide toll was only getting higher.
Every single damn day of your life you had dedicated yourself to helping the people on earth, and the only thing she had on her mind was the big picture. Trying to bring people back that couldn't be brought back. Bullshit.
All you were trying to do was make sure that the people who had left stayed alive.
"Ava? Would you like a scone." She said it in a normal voice, but you could feel the passion behind the words.
"No thank you. I'm careful about what I let others feed me. Because I'm careful. Unlike some other people I know." You say in the most passive and sickly sweet voice you could muster.
"I'm very cautious about keeping myself, and others, safe. I'm just nice enough to do it politely." She responded in the same voice as before.
"Carol, Ava. Do I need to remind you that this is a professional meeting, where we are to talk about important topics only." Nat said in a stone-cold tone. Natasha was never the most playful person, to begin with, but in the past 3 years, things had taken a turn for the worse.
When someone is already flying by the seat of their pants and is about as stable as a bull in a china shop, you tend not to provoke them. And by provoke, I mean of course murdering half of humanity.
"I was being professionally, just Carol here was-"
Natasha sharply cuts you off. " Ava. "
"Fine." You say, internally rolling your eyes.
Carol looks you dead in the eyes and gives you a smirk. Damn this woman.
You had been through hell. You had talking people of bridges, you had stood up for abuse victims in court, you had watched the people you had loved die. You were a stone-cold bitch. But with Carol, you might as well be a 2-year-old with a pair of scissors and a disturbing lack of adult supervision.
Once the meeting was over, you sparked a conversation with Natasha. "Hey Nat, do you wanna get some lunch?"
She looked at you, and then down at her phone, and then at you again. "Um, I can't. Not today." She looks behind her shoulder, and a sinister smirk creeps onto her features. "But I'm sure Carol would love to go out with you."
"Natasha, no. I said no."
Her menacing grin only intensifies. "Oh come on Ava, you could cut the sexual tension between the two of you with a knife."
"It's not sexual tension. It's just tension. Because we hate each other."
"Mm, I don't think so." She turns over her shoulder and calls to the blonde. "Carol, could you come here for a sec?"
Carol's head perks up, and she walks towards Nat, a scowl forming on her face when she sees that you're next to her. "What is it?"
"Do you want to go to lunch. Will Ava and I?" She questions politely.
"That sounds great, but doesn't Ava have to do that... Thing?"
You turn on your sickly sweet smile for what seems like the ten-thousandth time. "No, I canceled it. Just. To. Have. Lunch. With. You."
Natasha is almost guffawing at this interaction between the two of you. "Alright then, lunch it is!" She starts walking right without any hesitation, and both you and Carol have to run to catch up to her.
"I saw this cute little Italian place. Do you want to go-"
"Chili's." Natasha stops her pace and looks back at you.
"What. It's an incredible experience that I'm sure we'll all enjoy."
It's now Natasha's turn to wear the fake smile. "Great."
You reach Natasha's car, and she quickly whips out her car keys.
"Oh, we're riding together?" Carol exclaims with disgust.
"Yeah, saves energy," Natasha exclaims as she checks her phone.
"I call shotgun!" You counter, trying to do anything to get away from Carol.
"No shotgun. I think it would be nice for the two of you to bond. I wish it was in a bedroom, but a car will do." Natasha says, still looking down at her phone.
"What was that?" You asked, hoping that you didn't hear what you thought you heard.
"No shotgun, window's broken." She replies, opening the door.
You and Carol squeeze into the back seat. It wasn't a tight fit, by any means; but anywhere that isn't 50 feet apart from her is hell on earth. How was she so fucking pretty.
Every time your skin brushed together you shot up as if you had just touched a shock wire. The glares passed between the two of you could freeze even the darkest parts of hell.
As you were getting out of the car, you slammed the door in Carol's face. She opening it, and it was obvious she was pissed.
"Oh come on, you're a fucking superhero, if you're afraid of a car door then you're in the wrong line of work."
She doesn't respond to you and instead flashes you one of her infamous fake smiles.
The Chili's is cozy, with only 15 or so booths, less than 5 of them preoccupied. The hostess kindly led you to a booth, in the corner of the room. You slide into the booth first, and your shoulder pushed against the plastic wallpaper when you moved into your seat.
Carol takes her position in the seat in front of you. Natasha doesn't sit down.
She makes deadly eye contact with you as she pulls her phone out from inside her pocket. "Oh look, I just got a text message." She exclaims, not breaking eye contact.
Natasha quickly flashes you the screen of her phone, showing that in fact, she had not gotten a message. "I have to go. Emergency."
"Are you sure." You say, yet again feigning a smile.
"I'm positive, there's an emergency at work."
Carol attempts to get up and join Natasha before Nat gives Carol a disapproving glance.
"There's always going to be an emergency, but there isn't always going to be lunch." You say, cocking your head and putting on a smirk.
"No," Natasha says. And smiles at the two of you. "Have fun."
You flip her the bird, and without even turning around she returns the favor.
"This is going to be fine." You say.
"Yep," Carol responds, popping the p.
The two of you study the menu for a couple more minutes.
You begin to notice that whenever you adjust yourself Carol does the same, and you do as well, subconsciously.
The waitress walks up to you and politely introduces herself. She asked you what you wanted and, without skipping a beat, you ordered yourself the best thing on the menu, and Carol the worst. She looked as if she was going to protest, but at that point, the waitress had walked away. And all you did was sit there and smirk.
The tension in the room was not sexual. The hatred you felt in your heart for her and the simultaneous need to kiss her and have her kiss you back was not sexual, in any way shape or form.
"So." You promptly exclaimed, in the most positive voice that you could muster.
"Yes," Carol responded, deadlocking her eyes onto yours.
The longer you stared into her eyes the more love you felt. You lost yourself in the depths of her eyes as if you were Alice just entering wonderland. The smile lines surrounding her lips were faded and it seemed as if she hadn't cracked a grin in decades. Her fair hair fell into her eyes, and she quickly brushed it out of the way with one unmanicured finger.
"Why the fuck are we doing this?" She asks, avoiding your gaze.
"What do you mean?" You counter, plastering on another one of your on-brand fake smiles.
"Forcing ourselves to sit in this hell-ish place just for the courtesy of Natasha."
You tilt your head slightly and regain eye contact, "oh, so you want to leave?" You politely ask, knowing all to well the stir that you would get from Nat if you left now.
"No, of course not." She said, rolling her eyes. "But, why would she ever think that I would ever want to be around you for longer than the 5 seconds that are already peeling off my eyes."
"It's nice to see how kind you are to the people around you." You respond, attempting to be as harmful as she was even though you were internally hurt.
"But now that you mention it, I'm realizing how shitty it is that I have to engage in conversation with someone as horrible as you." You winced, and you were positive that she didn't notice either, because she was doing the same.
"What are your powers then, fixing computers?" She mocked you with a smile "oh, the world is ending. Look, someone to get rid of a faulty line on my phone."
"Oh yeah, I forgot that you were a dinosaur. I'm sorry, we don't use phones bolted to the wall in national security." You exclaimed. You wouldn't usually be so harsh, but her words were causing you to lash out.
"At least I can hold up in a fistfight." She said, putting on another mask of a hollow smile.
"I can hold up in a fistfight just fine, but can you hold up with a speakerphone button on an iPhone?" Ah yes, another hollow shot at her prehistoric days.
"You know, for someone how talks all this talk, I'm shocked that you can't actually do anything. Oh wait, I'm not. Sorry, Princess, you're all bark and no bite."
"Excuse me, I forget I was talking to someone who flies around in a space-suit and mohawk." Yet again another fake smile.
The two of you continued to bicker for another few minutes until the waitress comes over with your food.
"I can't believe that you would do such an ignorant f-"
"Hi, I have your food." A woman with a positive attitude and a braid crown places your meals in front of you.
You quickly stopped your argument and the both of you put on yet another fake smile to make it seem like you weren't two seconds away from causing an avengers level threat.
"Thank you so much."
"Really, we really appreciate it."
The second the woman walked away you were back at each other's throats.
But, somehow, Carol was still gorgeous all the while she was yelling at you and eating a shrimp on top of a salad drenched in vinegar.
"Seriously, you're so incompetent." You quickly burst out when she notices you staring.
"Maybe you wouldn't worry so much about me if you were actually doing your job." She responds, rolling her eyes.
"I am sweetie; I'm just good enough at it to be able to pay attention to your uselessness."
"You're too kind." She exclaims as she reaches for a napkin that you quickly pull away from her.
"What I find especially depressing about you is that you will never grow. You're the same person. You're stuck in a box. You will never be better than what you are now. And what you are is shitty." She looks up at you, " Princess ."
You pull back from your meal in shock. You couldn't believe that she had said something like that to you. It pointed out everything you had ever worried about yourself.
"I can't believe you. Why are you so relentlessly horrible to me? What have I done to you? I get when you take cheap shots. I take cheap shots all the time. I don't hate you. Why do you hate me?! I don't hate you! I love you!"
Carol freezes up. Everyone in Chili's looks at you. You were screaming. And you had just told Carol you loved her. You told her you loved her.  You loved her.
"What?" She says in a meek voice.
"I'm so sorry Carol, I was just-" She kisses you.
Carol kisses you.
Carol puts her lips on yours and kisses you.
And you kiss you back.
She's leaning over the table and knocked both your plates off the table and knocked you drinks over. You feel the liquid on your knees as you climb onto the table and place yourself on top of it. You kiss and you kiss until the rest of the world is null and void.
You only pull away for air, and when you're doing so Carol whispers a careful "I'm sorry."
You keep on kissing and kissing.
"I love you, I love you, I'm sorry, I love you." Muttered between you.
You finally pull away and stare into each other's eyes for a minute, basking in the beauty of her blue orbs.
"I feel god in this Chili's tonight." You breathlessly exclaim.
She laughs a beautiful, glorious laugh, and then leans in to kiss you again.

thoughts on loki ep 2: the variant (spoilers)
under cut to not disturb your scrolling
Overall I enjoyed so that's good
Uh frick my mind blanked so sorry if things are completely out of order
I don't know, I expected the renaissance fair to be 2012 or 2021 or 2024 (Loki's time, our time, current time in the "sacred timeline"). So I was genuinely surprised when it was in 1985.
Ok, i really like the title card thing. And how the year scrolls around. It's a nice aesthetic touch there.
I wonder why the female Loki variant chooses her locations? Does she have a thing for renaissance fairs, French cathedrals, and Oklahoma?
1985 is when Back to the Future came out. And it's y'know, one of the most popular time travel movies ever. So I think they chose that year as a reference.
Again, not liking that the minutemen only have numbers, not names. It is giving me lots of Clone Wars vibes. If you don't know anything about Clone Wars, the clones are given number identifiers by the Kaminoans. Things like CT-7567. The clones would give themselves names (CT-7567, for example, names himself Rex). A really good sign throughout the series that someone is a sketchy person is if they call the clones by their numbers. The clones don't want to be known as numbers. They are people too, they deserve names, so they come up with all sorts of creative names (Rex, Fives, Cody, Tup, Hevy, Hardcase, Echo, Waxer, Boil, Wolffe, Jesse, Kix, Fox, Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, Omega, Tech, Matchstick, etc). The jedi respect this, and the only jedi that i can think of that called clones by their numbers is Krell, who fell to the dark side. the Kaminoans and other sketchy people all call them by their numbers and the clones don't like it. A big focus of the show is on the clone's agency (at the end, they all have brain chips that take away their agency and force them to kill jedi), and how the clones need to be respected. So for me to see in another series that people are only given numbers is bad. What's worse is that the minutemen are fine with this. They don't see it as dehumanizing or belittling. They are brainwashed into being okay with it. Which says a thing or two about the Time Keepers.
did. did the renaissance fair really have Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out for a Hero" for their renaissance themed fight? Is this normal? Was it normal in the '80's? We saw later that the female Loki can do electronic stuff. Did she rig it to play it? For the vibes?
Also the stuff before the song was about fighting for a princess, and in the end she kidnaps C-20.
Okay, btw, I'm just gonna say Lady Loki for a while because no one has explicitly said Sylvie yet, so I'm going to refer to di Martino as Loki until she or another calls her Sylvie. Cool? Cool.
I was thinking the "Holding Out for a Hero" fight would be the roomba fight or something. It is such a good song that has huge potential for this genre. Why did they use it in a lame fight as that one?
When Lady Loki did the spell on C-20, it looked similar to what Wanda and Agatha can do. As in, it had similar visuals.
Loki reading a random magazine he finds while sitting with his feet on the desk bored out of his mind because he has to learn sh*t is a MOOD.
What is Miss Minutes? She can jump around anywhere, and pop into computers. But she can't be just a projection. She took the effort to dodge Loki swatting at her, so that may mean she was corporeal. She also could be something similar to the Kree's Supreme Intelligence?
So, did Mobius give Loki the shirt, tie, and slacks, but really didn't give him the jacket until they had to call him in? What? That makes no sense? Did the TVA not have any jackets with the variant label? Did someone have to custom design a jacket for Loki?
What is up with this show giving me things I wanted to see only in holographic form? First we saw Coulson's death, and now Loki in his Jotun form in a holograph of another variant.
Okay, Loki being someone the TVA has to constantly deal with is very on brand. Loki is a creature of chaos, of course he's going to unknowingly rebel against the sacred timeline.
Also, headcanon that the Jotun Loki we see is king of Jotunheim because that would be epic.
Also, for personal reasons I choose to believe there is a Loki variant that defeated the Avengers and immediately went queer rights.
Loki's reaction to there being many Loki variants. He's seen what his life is supposed to be. I think he is even more upset that the TVA often deals with him, that there are so many things that could have been instead if it weren't for the TVA and the "sacred timeline."
Also, I totally think Mobius was waiting for another Loki to show up to help him defeat Lady Loki. They get them so often, it makes sense.
Loki explaining the difference between illusion projection and duplication was great. And very helpful to me personally understanding lore. Also, Mobius, get your crap together. If you're a Loki expert, figure this stuff out.
Loki calling the TVA out on propaganda, we love that.
The wolf quote is actually very nice, I quite like it.
Okay, the TVA doesn't even bury or cremate or do any sort of ritual for their fallen minutemen, they just reset the timeline. Which to me seems like another way to show how little the TVA actually care for their workers.
There are statues of the Time Keepers in Ravonna's office. The camera pays extra attention to it. Keep reading for more about Time Keepers and cinematography choices.
What. What sort of relationship does Ravonna and Mobius have? What is going on there? I am really confused.
Who is this "analyst on the side?" What is going on there?
Ravonna is MEGA SUS. Along with that, the Time Keepers are mega sus.
She signs R. Slayer. Yeah. Slayer. Not at all subtle, Marvel. Letting us know that she'll do the deed if needed.
Mobius you are sending me mixed signals. What do you want?
Okay, Mobius saying Loki was a "cold, scared boy" and an "ice runt" and stuff was totally a jab at Loki being Jotun.
Mobius saying Loki is insecure because of Lady Loki is...probably true.
With the elevator, the camera stops and focuses on the Time Keepers.
The Creation of the TVA, the beginning of time, the end of time, all classified. That is sus.
Loki almost crying over Ragnarok was good. Let him cry over the destruction of his home.
Loki being the one to discover something the TVA had no idea about after a day is on brand for Loki. And it shows how the TVA really are vulnerable.
Mobius: Really? In front of my salad?
No but the object lesson was well done and actually did help me understand what Loki was talking about.
Casey! Casey drinks grape juice! Imagine how confusing this is for Casey though. Loki is captured, threatens to gut you like a fish (whatever that means), and now he's dressed like an analysist, stealing your juice box. Does Loki get Casey more juice?
Honestly, Loki looking at everything logically and scientifically is fantastic. Adds to the science = magic thing Marvel's got going on, since Loki is a sorcerer.
Loki saying volcanoes are cool is fun. I agree. Volcanoes mean the planet is geologically active, which means we won't die. Also, there is a volcano named Loki on one of Jupiter's moons. I wonder if the creators knew that and put Loki in Pompeii because he is already linked with volcanoes.
Mobius telling Loki to start off small and Loki completely disregarding that felt very personal to me.
Loki being absolutely chaotic and telling everyone they were going to die while speaking perfect Latin was iconic. I want more of that content. Let the man be buckwild.
Again, Loki finding something out after a day that the TVA never knew about is on brand.
"Be free, my horned friends, be free!" I love that way too much.
Mobius being obsessed with jet skis wasn't something I expected, but I'm down for it. Heck, even Loki admitted they were cool.
The discussion on beliefs is going to lead to saying the Time Keepers are bullcrap. Hopefully.
Grapes and nuts are "candy" on Asgard. So, when Loki was eating grapes in Ragnarok, we can interpret that as him eating M&Ms. Second, this might add to something I've seen around here. I've seen things about a book somewhere with Loki saying chocolate fountains are mythical (which is really funny to me). So, I guess Asgard really doesn't have chocolate.
Oh my gosh, so many apocalypses between 2047 and 2051...hopefully none of those happen in real life.
Roxxcart is probably part of Roxxon, something that has been around in Iron Man movies.
Lady Loki got the shovel thing from Roxxcart that she left in Oklahoma! The minutemen said it was from the early third millenia, which is where we are now! 2050 also fits that category!
I saw something about the file saying Class 8 hurricane...there are only 5 classes...which means this is a crazy storm.
Does B-15 want Loki dead? This is a legitimate question, because I think she does. Dead or pruned.
Loki looking around at the storm, I love it. This could be him loving science, or him missing Thor, since Thor creates storms. Also, at this point Loki probably things Thor dies shortly after him in the sacred timeline, so Loki would be particularly sentimental about Thor.
I love Loki drying himself off and not anyone else. And B-15 yelling about his magic. And Loki's motions are so fluid, it's so aesthetically pleasing, I love it.
Dudes, I thought B-15 was going to try to prune Loki when they were alone.
Okay, was Lady Loki bsing about the azalea sale, or does Roxxcart actually do that? I want to know.
Wunmi Mosaku did a really good job as Lady Loki, I loved it.
Loki being annoyed at Lady Loki and saying he understood how Thor felt, does that insinuate Loki can do what Lady Loki was doing?
B-15 and C-20 were both very shaken after being possessed by Lady Loki. I wonder how that felt for them? We've had different explanations of mind control/brainwashing/similar from Clint, Bucky, Daisy, Mack, Fitz, and Monica in the MCU (including AoS). I wonder what is specific to Lady Loki's possession.
C-20 kept going on about something being real. What was that about?
C-20 revealed the location of the Time Keepers to Lady Loki!
Lady Loki not wanting to be called Loki could be a sign she is Sylvie.
There's something weird where Loki's voice echoed around while the camera focused on Lady Loki. Maybe she's telepathic?
Someone needs to keep a tracker on people telling Loki this isn't his story in a show literally about him.
But, that does add to themes for his life, and how everything was always about someone else in his life. He was always a supporting character for Thor, for Odin, for Thanos. Now, even in his own story, everyone insists he doesn't matter.
I was wondering what the reset charges would be used for. I wasn't expecting a massive bombing of the sacred timeline! Wow! That was unexpected and I loved it!
Okay, this isn't from me, this is from New Rockstars. But to list all the places mentioned on chronomonitors, either bombed or not: Knowhere, Barcelona, Niflheim, Dartford, Phong Nha, Lisbon, Vormir, Thorton, Cookeville, Asgard, Rome, Sakaar, Barichara, Porvoo, Ego, Titan, New York City, Tokyo, Hala, Kingsport, Xandar, Beijing, Madrid, Portland, Jotunheim. Bolded are other planets. Those are almost all the planets visited in the MCU. So fun easter eggs there!
I like Lady Loki's aesthetic. The fingerless gloves, the cloak, I love it. And YES SHE ISN'T SEXUALIZED. So many genderbent characters are excuses to sexualize women. But Lady Loki is just as covered as the male Lokis.
Lady Loki just...left the time door open for Loki to follow...for a really long time...I'm worried he's running into a trap.
What is Loki going to do now?
Theory time y'alls: Lady Loki bombed the sacred timeline to flush the minutemen out of the TVA, leaving it defenseless. And she's gonna go after the Time Keepers themselves. We know she gets into the TVA from trailer footage, and that's what I think we're gonna see next episode. I think she (like the Loki we are following) is upset over the lack of free will, and she plans to change that. That's why she wasn't interested in helping Loki "take over" the TVA, because she doesn't want to become the leader of a new TVA, she wants it destroyed.
Alright, back to the Time Keepers stuff. They keep focusing on the middle Time Keeper. Even in the end credits they have a weird cut to focus directly on his face. I'm not 100% on this, but I like this theory. That face is similar to Jonathan Major's, the actor confirmed to be Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Kang is a well known time travelling villain in Marvel. Maybe he is Kang, and is using variant versions of himself (that's a Kang thing in the comics) to mess with the timeline, and no one expects that from him. Also, Renslayer was his S/O for a bit in the comics, and they keep framing her in front of that one Time Keeper's face. I feel like this would be a good way to set up Quantumania and to show how sus the Time Keepers are.
Also, Loki was absolutely adorable the entire episode. And he got to sleep! Yay for him!
Again, I enjoyed, and can't wait for next week!

The One Behind the Curtain
Who is behind the TVA, and what is Renslayer's deal? These are two questions I have seen and heard a lot of people asking before the finale episode, and I, like everyone else, have got some thoughts on both.
Let's start with Renslayer. We know she is working with someone other than Mobius based on the various trophies he doesn't recognize (note: even a variant Mobius would count as "someone other than Mobius" in this case, just to be clear). On top of that, she obviously knows more than the average TVA worker as she knew about them all being variants and that pruned individuals don't actually die. She also didn't seem too surprised at the fact that the Time Keepers were androids and claims she wants to find out who is really behind the TVA. This seems to be genuine. She did state as much to Sylvie, but the fact that she then talked with Miss Minutes alone, asking for the files from the beginning of the TVA in order to protect the people responsible for creating it, is what really implies that this is true. If she did already know their identities, there would be no reason to keep up the act with only Miss Minutes around to hear.
So what is her goal? I don't think she wants to destroy the TVA like Sylvie otherwise she'd actually try and work with her. Instead she is keeping everything running as she's supposed to, claiming the TVA "needs stability" to Hunter B-15. But she wants the answer to who's behind it all for some reason, and my guess is that she's trying to find out the information for someone else, someone she's working for. Perhaps someone who brings her snow globes and pens. If I had to guess, she was sent on this mission by someone who knew of the TVA and wanted to rule in place of whoever is currently running it. Maybe they knew that variants were taken as workers, having her do something to get taken in. And even if she may have forgotten for a time (as Mobius and B-15 forgot their past lives), knowing that everyone is a variant would imply that she knows about her own past now, and she remembers what she's supposed to do. And with all this time having built herself up as a trusted worker, she is now making her move.
Maybe that's even why Sylvie was able to get away from her so easily as a child. Maybe she allowed her to, hoping that Sylvie could be the catalyst to her own plan someday. It could explain why Renslayer seemed so hesitant to send Mobius to Roxxcart to stop Sylvie and the real reason she was kept alive after being caught on Lamentis-1 to instead be executed in front of the Time Keepers, a fact both Sylvie and Loki find strange.
Speaking of Mobius, her conversations with him, especially in episode 4, feel off, and not just because he is starting to have doubts. Her reaction to having him pruned is that of genuine loss, so I believe that she was indeed trying to protect Mobius from finding out the truth, or at least from finding it out in a way that would turn him against her. She asks him about where he would go if he could go anywhere, and he states that he likes being there with her, doing the work. And then when she goes on her speech about how their friendship is uncommon, she focuses in on fighting to keep their relationship, only very quickly at the end adding a line about the importance of the Sacred Timeline. I think this shows that she does genuinely see the two of them as friends and wants him on her side, the Sacred Timeline more of an afterthought. I believe this is the reason that he gets invited to oversee Loki and Sylvie's pruning. I think she wants Sylvie to expose the false Time Keepers, and she wants Mobius to be there to witness it with her so that he can join her in her secret mission, sparing him from whatever fate may befall him otherwise. Mobius finding out the truth from Loki and siding with him, however, puts an end to all of that.
There is also one other character that Renslayer has some interactions with that I find strange - Miss Minutes. First, Miss Minutes is the one to offer up the lie about the void ship when Sylvie says that she has no more need for Renslayer. Renslayer doesn't instantly try to talk her way out of it, but Miss Minutes does, lying and buying them time until the Minutemen arrive. This makes me wonder if Miss Minutes suspects that Renslayer does know of a way to get past the void and didn't want her to be intimidated into giving up such information. After all, it would be strange if the only way to get past Alioth was by going to the void and enchanting him. My second point stems from this, and that's Miss Minutes' reaction to Renslayer asking for all the files on the founding of the TVA after talking with Hunter B-15. She doesn't immediately go to find the files, instead simply stating that it's a "mighty tall order". Renslayer is the top of the TVA workforce food chain - if Miss Minutes is hesitating to give her information, it seems likely that it's because she doesn't trust her. I'll talk about this a bit more later, but this seems to support the idea that Renslayer is hiding something from the TVA itself.
With all that said about Renslayer, let's look at the question of who is behind the TVA.  There are two theories that seem the most prevalent: 1.) another version of Loki and 2.) Kang. As Kang has connections to Renslayer in the comics, let's start there. I don't know anything about Kang personally, but I have heard a lot about him from the comic-reading fans watching this show. And, yeah, it does seem like there are a lot of Kang connections, not to mention the fact that he's confirmed the villain of the next Ant-Man movie. So why DON'T I think it's Kang?
Well, for one, all of these connections are things that people who haven't read the comics would never have caught on their own. Had I not heard all the theories about him, I would never be able to look back on the season and notice the solely comic-based breadcrumbs hinting at his inclusion. And that's not good storytelling. Introducing someone as important as him in episode 6 would just be jarring at this point.
But saying all that, I do think all of those tie-ins are there on purpose. I believe that Kang does have a role in the series, but it's less "main villain" and more "ominous shadow", and rather than Kang himself, we will deal with the one living in that shadow. To put it simply, I think that Kang is the one who sent Renslayer to find out who is behind the TVA.
For one, Kang and Renslayer have a relationship in the comics, so it makes sense for them to have a connection here, especially since he's a confirmed upcoming entity in the MCU. For two, he is someone who wants to rule time, so it makes sense that the TVA would be in his way of that. And for three, apparently the big cloud thing, Alioth, in episode 5 actually acts as a sort of obstacle or even rival for Kang in the comics, making its use here as the "guard dog" of the true creators of the TVA feel very symbolic and purposeful, if perhaps severely toned down. So, yeah, I think that Kang wants to overthrow whoever is behind the TVA so he can rule it and therefore bend all of time to his will. So I believe that he does have connections in this series, but I don't think he is currently running the TVA. I also don't think we'd see more than maybe a glimpse of him at the very end, in perhaps a teaser à la Thanos in the first Avengers movie if anything. Instead the focus will be on Renslayer - as it was with Loki in "The Avengers". This would set him up for Ant-Man without actually ruining anything for that movie or making "Loki" a 100% necessary watch beforehand, something I don't think Marvel would want to do with their new TV show format just yet.
The other often theorized secret head of the TVA is a version of Loki. I admittedly cannot wrap my head around how this could work, especially after episode 5. If you want to argue that one similar to President Loki, for example, would probably create the TVA simply because he wants to rule all, then my only response is that we've just seen that. Why have a character like that introduced - and made fun of - right before introducing another one in the finale? How would that be satisfying to see again? Just because he'd be less silly doesn't mean he'd be any more interesting or compelling after seeing President Loki get his hand bitten off by an alligator. So going the "evil" Loki route would seem like a retread.
But going for a more "noble" version doesn't work either. Whoever is behind the TVA clearly wants all Lokis to be alone, not allowing them to ever change to be a good person. You could make the argument that this is because it makes everyone around him better, and such things are needed for the greater good, but then you have Classic Loki's story. He got pruned long after he was supposed to because he dared to want to see Thor again, after he had already served his purpose in the Sacred Timeline. What would the harm be in letting him return after Thor had done what he needed to do? It feels like the person overseeing this timeline is genuinely against Lokis having connections. Why would a "noble" version of Loki do that to other versions of himself even after Thor and the rest of the Avengers have matured to the point of being able to defeat Thanos? It just winds up feeling cruel in that instance, and that doesn't sound "noble" at all. So having a Loki be at the end of all this just doesn't seem to fit, in my opinion.
Ok, so if not Loki or Kang, then who? As I mentioned with Kang, it would be weird to just introduce someone completely new in the very last episode that hasn't even been hinted at yet. So it would have to be someone we've either met or have heard about already. I have seen speculation about Mobius or even Sylvie thrown around, but neither of these would fit what we know of the characters without a huge out-of-left-field twist (or variants of said characters, which I suppose shouldn't be ruled out, but just seems unnecessarily convoluted, but it IS Marvel, so...).
So who's left? There doesn't seem to be a lot of options to fill this role out of the people we've already met. But there IS someone running a lot of things within the TVA that we have seen several times now and I've already noted has acted a little odd. Whether as a joke or not, I have seen others throw out Miss Minutes as a possibility, and I have to say that she is the character I am currently leaning most towards.
Does that mean that I think Miss Minutes created the TVA? No, I don't. But I do think she is currently running it. I believe that someone - possibly the original Time Keepers - created her in order to help them run everything, either in case something happened to them or just simply as an extra hand. From here I believe there are two possibilities. Either the original creators died, and Miss Minutes has dutifully been carrying on their work as she was created to do, or said creators, for one reason or another, decided that the "Sacred Timeline" was a concept they no longer believed in and Miss Minutes - who was programmed specifically to uphold said timeline - decided that the creators needed to be disposed of in order to keep fulfilling her duties. Either way, without them, Miss Minutes would need help to continue her work, and so she would start employing variants for that purpose, all the time keeping up the appearance of "Time Keepers" in a very "Wizard of Oz"/man-behind-the-curtain scenario. This would mean that the identity of the original creators wouldn't be important, because the one stealing the lives of variants and employing them against their will would be Miss Minutes herself. So no one new would have to be introduced at the last minute in order for the audience to feel satisfied with the overthrowing of the TVA, Miss Minutes and Renslayer both having antagonistic parts to play.
I could obviously be very wrong on all of this. Maybe Renslayer herself wants to take over the TVA and Miss Minutes is nothing more than a cute, animated helper. Maybe it is simply another Loki variant heading the TVA. Whatever the outcome, as long as it's pulled off well, I'll be satisfied. But it's fun to theorize and see what does ultimately fit the Sacred MCU Timeline and what winds up just a heartfelt, fanmade variant.

------------------------------------------------ Chapter 17
Kit watched the ramp rising, shutting out the sunlight. His breath was heavy as he maintained the pressure on Nancy’s wound. Just before the ramp closed Kit was jolted by the distinctive clang of metal on metal. The ramp was forced open enough for Bucky to squeeze through, he seemed dishevelled but unhurt as he stood up, his head brushing the roof of the jet. All colour left his face as his eyes landed on Nancy. Words lost him entirely as he fell to his knees by her side. Kit looked at him helplessly.
“The Wakandan outreach centre, London, they’ll be able to help her.” Bucky stuttered towards the pilot. He took Nancy’s hand that was limp by her side. and enveloped it in his flesh hand squeezing it firmly. leaning over her, he swept a flyaway strand of hair off her forehead. Tears pricked in his eyes.
“Nancy…” he whispered.
Sam dropped through a hatch above them, landing lightly on the floor behind Bucky. They shared a look and Sam dropped the shield, squeezing Bucky’s shoulder.
“Nancy, please, stay with me.” Bucky pleaded, holding up her head, two fingers finding the weak pulse in her neck. A shiver ran through him, and Nancy’s eyes fluttered slightly. Bucky squeezed her hand tighter.
“Nance…”
“Bucky, you’re okay… Buck…what happened?” Green eyes peaked out between her lashes.
“Oh, thank goodness, you’re going to be ok, the Wakandans will help you, I’m so sorry, I’m sorry...” he pressed his lips to her forehead. Kit shifted his hands as Sam passed him fresh wad of bandages to stem the bleeding. Sam was talking frantically on the phone. Nancy’s eyes darted round the plane frantically taking everything in. Her eyes landed on Kit, all his focus was on the wound in her chest, he was shaking, his breath catching in his throat. Nancy tried to reach for him, with the hand not locked in Bucky’s, but her arm felt heavy and detached from her.
“Kit,” she choked out, “Kit, look at me.” Kit shook his head, her eyes snapped to Bucky’s, a wordless exchange took place as he removed her hand from his grip and slipped his crumpled jacket under her to support her head. His hands covered Kit’s releasing him from his trace. Kit slid back, finally meeting his sister’s gaze.
“I’m sorry, it should have been me.” He stuttered “it’s all my fault.”
“No. Don’t you say that.”
“Shuri’s let the London team know, they’re preparing a medical team, she says Bucky should stay close, she thinks their bond could help her.” Sam said, hanging up the phone. Looking at the scene by his feet. Kit looked like a small child whilst Bucky seemed older than ever. All extended youth seemed to have evaporated from his form as he watched life spilling from his soulmate. The sight seemed too personal, too private, even Kit had looked away, curled up against the wall. Sam marched into the cock pit, he could be more helpful there.
The journey could have been years for all Bucky knew, Nancy drifted in and out of consciousness speaking fractured sentences, he shushed them away, telling her to save her strength. She was quite for what seemed like an age before her voice returned, stronger and clearer than before.
“I need you to promise me something.” She said to Bucky.
“Don’t talk like that.”
“You have to promise me you won’t fall apart, promise me, you won’t go looking for vengeance, you or him, I know he’s still in there, but you can’t let him out.”
“Nancy stop.”
“it’s okay, you can let me go. I think it’s time.” She winced pain filling her feature.
“You’re not going anywhere, you’re not leaving me.” Bucky turned to the cockpit, “How far are we?” He shouted.
“We’re close, little further.” Rayden responded, his voice laced with guilt though he pushed the engines to their limit.
“Bucky I’m sorry,” tears swam down her cheeks, “Kit.” She called, unable to turn her head, paralysed in pain. Her brother slid over to her, taking her hand in his.
“I’m here, I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere.”
“Kit, I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too CeCe.” He cited his childhood nickname for her. A simpler time when his baby sister came home from the hospital and two separate syllables was too much for him.
“I need you to know, I forgive you, for leaving, for hiding, it’s okay.”
“No, it’s not, you not forgiving me, you’re not going to die, you’re going to be angry at me for long time, I’ll have grovel and plead, I have regain your trust and even then you’ll still bring it up every time we disagree on something, you’re my baby sister and you’re not going anywhere.” He said firmly, Nancy smiled softly, a chuckle escaping her lips. Her breathing escalated, she choked and coughed, blood seeping out of her mouth. Sam appeared beside them once more, reaching down he swept Nancy up in his arms, cradled to his chest like a baby. Her head lulled to one side. Kit stood to protest, but Bucky held up a hand.
“He’ll get her there faster.” the ramp started to lower, as Bucky leaned over, kissing her cheek softly.
“Don’t go where I can’t follow.” He whispered in her ear, if Sam heard he was pretending not to. Kit squeezed her hand before Sam dove out into London’s sky.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bucky felt her fingers twitch first. His gaze shifted up instantly until it rested on her eyes. They shifted beneath her lids, responding at last to the bright lights above her sick bed. The outreach centre had taken her in fixed her up, she had stabilised by the time Kit and Bucky had made it to her. It had been two days now, her wound was healed but her body was still recovering. Wakandan medicine was an amazing thing, Bucky was fascinated, remembering his days on the battlefield in the war, how many would have lived had their facilities been available then. She was squeezing his hand now, and he smiled squeezing back.
“Nancy?” He spoke softly his free hand sweeping across her cheekbone. Her eyes fluttered open, green peeking through her thick lashes.
“Buck… Bucky.” she croaked out.
“Oh, doll you had me scared back there.” he exhaled heavily, drawing his chair closer to her bed.
“The witches?” she asked frantically trying to sit up. bucky held her back down with soft shushing noises.
“We left them there, not the last we’ll see of them no doubt, but for now you’re safe, that’s all that matters.
“Where do we go from here? Back to Wakanda?”
“We can’t.” his face fell into a solum line.
“What’s happened?”
“Duncan Everitt is dead.” he said simply, watching a crease form between her brows.
“How?”
“We don’t know, but if someone can get to him there then its not safe enough for you.” he insisted. Nancy’s brow furrowed but any protest was cut off by Kit rushing into the room. He was by her side in an instant.
“Don’t ever put me through that again.” he smiled down at her.
“Where will we go?” she asked looking between the two men.
“I will go to Wakanda, Duncan may have hunted me, but he was one of my men once, he deserved better than what he got, I will find out what happened to him.” he said defiantly. Nancy nodded, Bucky help her to sit upright in the bed. “I’ll get to see dad, apologies, start to make amends.”
“He’ll be over the moon, to see you again, when I told him I think he didn’t dare to dream, he won’t believe until he sees you. I know I didn’t.” she looked up at her brother, he was now freshly shaved, and his hair trimmed, he wore a loose-fitting white t-shirt and some black silk trousers, he’d made him self at home here. Nancy was pleased, he looked more like his old self, younger, softer in the face without the wiry beard.
“I was thinking, we could go to America, Louisiana probably, I got a place there, it’s not much, but…”
“I’d like that.” she said quickly smiling, she caught Kit’s eye who smiled in agreement. Whatever had happened, Kit trusted Bucky now.
“Sam would be close by too, if trouble were to find us.” he smiled taking her hand again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took a few days to prepare, finding flights, sorting out her visa, getting Samara to deliver her passport to Sam on the other side of London to avoid anyone following them to get to Nancy. Kit left with Rayden for his journey to Wakanda, it was a tearful farewell on Nancy’s part as Bucky finally left her side to give the siblings a moment of privacy. Nancy felt stronger every day, moving out of her sick bed and into a shared room with Bucky. Not wanted to risk going outside she walked up and down the stairs in outreach centre, outwards appearance resembled a tower block, one of the larger centres held, it had a lot of stairs. Shuri contacted her, sending over a replacement top with bullet proof properties, the other torn to shreds by the bullet and the doctors. Her father fretted down the phone to her, even her mother called, though it was cool and brief her mother did at least sound half relieved to hear her awake, Kit had insisted she’d fretted constantly before Nancy had woken up, this she found hard to believe. Eventually it was time to leave, set off for a fresh start. As Nancy curled up in the wide 1st class seat with Bucky beside her she felt herself poised at a precipice, a brand new chapter of her life.

Hey everyone! I’m Tulsa and I’m twenty-two so please please please be over eighteen, bc I’m not tryna catch a case. I’ve had issues in the past where people who play the opposing characters change them so much that it’s not even them anymore, and then the dynamic doesn’t make sense and yeah….. (this makes me sound harsh but i promise I’m not jdsjnddi).
RULES
FORMAT;; Since these are characters that we’re playing, I’d prefer us both to use third person POV. I get very invested in my characters, but find it a bit uncomfortable when I, or my partner, is using ‘I’, it makes it too personal for me. As for doubling, that’s something I don’t do, and I know that’s usually a turn-off. I just feel it’s easier, and more fun to focus on one story/couple. I will play side characters if we need/like, but I only do one thread. I hope that makes sense lol
LENGTH;; As I tend to write stories in my free time, I do prefer longer replies. My starters will usually be anywhere from 3-5 paragraphs, and my replies at least 2, usually more depending on the scene and how much my partner is giving me. I’m not too strict about this, but I do like details, so if you’re a one-line roleplayer, we are not a good fit. For more of a glance at my length, feel free to check out my writing samples: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZRxKbX59YvNCXJejHsUHrfP0mlo_KHt9ivZRUwyrdWI/edit?usp=sharing
LIMITS;; I prefer my plots to be about 70/30 when it comes to story/smut. Limits and things of that nature can be discussed in private if need be!
PLOTTING;; As long as we’re both putting forth effort into the plot, I’m down. It’s just hard to come up with a plot by yourself, especially because you don’t know if the other person will like it. Also, if we start a plot and you find yourself bored and/or would like to try something else, don’t hesitate to ask! This whole ad makes me sound so serious, but I swear I’m just a smol girl.
REPLY RATE;; Since I am a college student, my replies may be a bit scattered. Due to Covid, I’m available almost all day everyday so I’d love someone who’s able to do quick, but also literate replies! I will always do my best to send out a reply at least once a day though, but on weekends you can expect quick replies throughout the day.
I think that’s it for all of the formalities, so onto the fun stuff!
Vampire Diaries
Kol Mikaelson & Averie Forbes… BIO: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kZthnbN1uGMLaGh_MVjBV2Sgmy_qtY9xYuPU0Q7BUaA/edit?usp=sharing
Plot ideas: i really want to do something with Stockholm syndrome? Like maybe he takes her as a way to get back at Klaus or something?
Marvel/MCU
Loki Laufeyson & Eira Jarledottir… BIO: https://docs.google.com/document/d/102xmk63dnwe5RMbJegfi-cy4AZtev2IZVafhaejuCvw
Plot Ideas: when Loki is disguised as Odin and we can have her come back to Asgard and she’s completely heartbroken when she finds out Loki is ‘dead’. Or, we could do something set before the films if we’d like! Or something kind of AU where Eira is there when Loki finds out about his true lineage.
Inuyasha
Inuyasha & Kagome Higurashi
Plot Ideas: probably just something in the feudal era, or maybe she convinces him to take her to prom in present day or something Idk I’m open to anything
Stranger Things
Billy Hargrove & Katrina ‘Kat’ Wheeler… BIO: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1X_Xz7SOiHZpjlLyrqvzRpP-Kt-sy0zRDBDPxpMDBS2w
Plot Ideas: i don’t have any specifics for this one, but I just picture a ton of angst and a lot of unsaid feelings. I’d love to maybe try an AU where Billy survives the events of season 3 and he’s trying to find himself and figure out how to move forward and Kat wants to help but she’s not quite sure how. Or, I’m always down for good old teenage rebellion that takes place during season 2 or before the whole ‘possession of Billy’ thing happens.
Teen Wolf
Derek Hale & Paige Krasikeva… BIO: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10KtrZRng-j9k4TJ1gZmSJRdqAcqdE2iIM5sfgEe3MLs
Plot Ideas: I’m thinking something along the lines of Derek sees her at the school and is completely shaken and she has absolutely no memory of the situation. So then maybe they re-fall in love or he like steadily tries to help her regain her memory. Another way to go would be they rekindle a romance, Paige having no idea of their history, and then Peter giving her back her memories but they’ve been skewed to make Derek look like the bad guy.
Stiles Stilinski & Lydia Martin
They were my first OTP and I’d love to get the chance to play Lydia again. I’m kind of down for anything with this couple.
Criminal Minds
Spencer Reid(or a male oc) & Olivia Fray… BIO: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19hC6zvvbkFVaQMwwY5K-mlHOccm1YFd9j8m2CguN2AI/edit
Plot Ideas: They meet on a case and she ends up getting too deep and someone has to save her. Or she could get hired as like media personnel to give debriefings. I’ve only played in this fandom once, I’m still working things out so bare with me.
I believe that’s it??? I’m really craving these plots right now, so if anyone wants to do them I’d be eternally grateful! Also, if you have any plot ideas of your own for these pairings, don’t be afraid to share them!!! If you’re interested, please feel free to reach out via email ([email protected]) and/or Discord (gldenskies#5545)

Home isn’t a place, It’s a feeling (Tom Holland Fanfiction)
Chapter One
The cameras flashed everywhere around me, I tried to pretend I wasn’t anxious at the thought of being seen at this thing. Premier Nights weren’t my favourite part of being friends with actor. They filled me with a sense of anxiety that before Tom got famous I’d never felt before. I felt a hand at my elbow. “You look worse than Tom and he’s the one everyone came to see” Harry laughed. Harry Holland. Little shit. Twin #2.
“I hate these things” I muttered, his hand tapped at my elbow in reassurance. I tried to find it reassuring. I failed. “You can hide behind me if you want” he offered, I think he noticed my unease. The uneven pattern of my breathing and most obvious, I was biting my nails like crazy, my mother was going to have a fit when she saw them. I smiled at Harry, I tried to smile like I wasn’t panicking but I think Harry saw straight through me. A side effect of spending so much time around the Holland Boys. “Thanks for the offer, but Sam is still my favourite twin” I replied, a joke seemed the right way to go. Harry sent me a dirty look. “He got you the guitar for Christmas three years ago, let it go,” He said shaking his head in disapproval. I snorted.
He was right. Three years ago on Christmas day Sam Holland, other little shit and Twin #1 had gifted me a Fender FSR CC-60s Mahogany Concert Acoustic Guitar and it was still the light in my life. You would think that my best friend would have been the one that had bought me the greatest present I’d ever received but Tom didn’t understand guitars and we had a deal that meant that Tom wouldn’t buy me anything to do with music and I wouldn’t buy him anything to do with golf because I couldn’t understand golf to save my life.
I’d been spending part of my Christmas holiday with the Hollands since I was 10 years old. My mother and Nikki had been neighbours (-and best friends!) as long as either of them could remember. My mother worked as a care assistant and more often than not she had to work 12-hour shifts around the Christmas period so I learned from a very young age that the Hollands were like a second family to me. Every time my mum had to work overtime to make ends meet or couldn’t come and get me from school because she just couldn’t get her half an hour break yet, I would go to the Hollands and looking back now that time I spent at their house became some of the best memories of my childhood.
The cameras flashed again and the sound of the crowd outside the cinema got infinitely louder bringing me kicking and screaming back to the present. “Guess Tom’s here” I muttered. I heard the sound of tyres squealing outside and the sound of chanting got louder. Damn those fangirls and their seemingly infinite lung capacity. “Tom! Tom!” They shouted I leaned on the door frame and watched the scene unfold. At some point during Tom’s grand entrance, Harry went to find Sam and I was left alone. I wasn’t fond of being left alone but Sam was doing photographs for the premier and he needed help. The cinema seemed bigger than it had been all the times I’d been there before. Somehow leaning against the door waiting for my best friend to come waltzing through it, when he was done sighing autographs, the place seemed to be the size of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. The dress that I’d squeezed myself in to for the occasion felt tighter than ever, my chest painfully constricted.
I had been thinking about leaving when the door in front of me opened and a familiar face was hurried through by security men that were three times his size, that was saying a lot recently. Tom had been working his arse off in the gym and was around twice the size he used to be.
I took my time to take in his appearance before he noticed me, his face was flushed. His navy suit was dishevelled, the grey shirt underneath was flecked with sweat and his hair was sticking to his forehead with the same sweat from running around signing autographs and taking pictures with the aforementioned fangirls.
“Tommy” I called, he jumped a mile and looked over to where I was standing by the door. I saw the relief cross over his face that I wasn’t someone he didn’t know watching him at what could be considered a vulnerable moment. I was the only person who could call him that.
“Jules, thank god.” He smiled walking over, I watched his eyes take me in as he came closer. He reached out his hand for mine and I happily let him pull me towards where the crowd of people were heading towards the cinema room for the first showing of Toms new movie ‘ONWARD’. I’d heard most of the movie in the clips that Tom had messaged me whilst he was on set, I hadn’t actually seen the animation though and I was excited to see what he’d been making the months he’d been away.
We sat in the seats towards the back, two seats on Tom’s left side were reserved for Sam and Harry when they finally got around to joining us. Tom’s arm immediately went around my shoulder, allowing me to lean back into his embrace. I’d missed this. Yeah, I’d seen him since he came back from New York but I hadn’t seen him for a while it was nice to have him close to me again.
“I’m so glad you came” he was whispering, leaning closer to my ear, I felt his breath tickling the shell and I sighed happily. His breath smelt minty fresh like he’d brushed his teeth minutes ago but I hadn’t missed the gentle pop of his gum. Smart boy, no tuna breath on premiere night. “Wouldn’t be anywhere else” I replied. Tom’s gentle smile was the last thing I remember seeing before the lights went off and the opening credits to the film started.
Before anyone can say it, I know what you’re thinking. You lucky bitch. You’re best friends with Tom Holland. I understand that because Tom is one of the greatest guys that you’ll ever meet. But not for the reasons that most of the fangirls think. Yeah, the man was fucking gorgeous, I’m his best friend but I have eyes. Buffer than a Norse god and more swag that a billionaire playboy philanthropist but that wasn’t the reason that I was so lucky. I saw a side to him that most people didn’t, I saw sleepy Tom falling asleep in front of the TV watching reruns of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I saw Tom shitting himself watching the remake of IT. I saw him crying over a puppy video on his Facebook and I saw him proudly smiling at his phone when he finally did something right on Instagram. He was and always had been a great guy.
But enough about Tom, let’s get back to where we were.
The premiere went better than expected and I loved the new film, Tom had the gall to laugh at me when I was sobbing towards the end of the movie. That earned him a punch to the stomach that Nikki would have been proud of. Stupid boy, I can’t get through a damn one of his movies without tearing up. Damn almost had a crying fit when I watched The Impossible. Now, remember I was around 13 when the premiere of that film happened and the thought of anything happening to Tom back then was more than my pimpley hormone fuelled heart could take. Tom had to come out of the premiere and hold me for twenty minutes whilst I sobbed, repeatedly reminding me it was a film and he wasn’t going to leave me anytime soon. Yeah, It wasn’t my proudest moment. It was one of my favourite Tom memories though.
“So, What did you think?” Tom asked as the lights came back on. I looked up at him through my panda eyes where my mascara had run and gave him the dirtiest look I could manage. “You said it wasn’t sad” I accused, rubbing at my eyes profusely “You lied to me”
“You cry at every one of my premieres, when are you going to learn to wear waterproof mascara?” Toma asked, pulling his sleeve down over his hand and taking a swipe at the mascara running down my cheeks.  “What’s life without a little risk?” I smirked, he shook his head at me, his hand gripping my chin tighter as he gently wiped my face, in the back of a movie theatre with the sleeve of his suit. Oh the class
“You have got to stop rewatching Harry Potter” He sighed
“Says the person who bought me the boxset” I returned. “Not to watch everyday” He laughed, seeming happy enough with his handiwork. He let go of my face. Part of me instantly missed his touch. “And I suppose a great muggle like yourself is going to stop me?” I laughed. Tom looked at me with great disapproval. Tom had never understood my obsession with Harry Potter. A diehard Marvel fan instead, there was no room in his head for anything except Spiderman. The more I think about it, the more I realise that him not being Spiderman for the MCU was utterly preposterous. The man had spiderman bedding, granted Paddy currently slept on those but still, the man lived and breathed Marvel.
“You’re lucky I put up with your arse. Now, what did you actually think?” He asked standing up and holding his hand out to help me up and out of the mostly empty theatre.
“I love it” I smiled. “You really pulled at my heartstrings. Are you going to introduce me to Chris Pratt now?” I asked, fluttering my wet eyelashes at Tom in faux flirtation
“And have to bail you out of prison after you flash at him? No chance” He laughed, gripping my hand tighter and scoffing at my flirtation persuasion attempt. “Indecent exposure is a misdemeanour, I’ll skip prison” I replied. “I’m still not introducing you, in fact. I’m skipping the afterparty all together” He smiled. We’d reached the door to the cinema. Everyone was pretty much gone. There were a few stragglers that were walking around talking on the phone or waiting for taxis home I imagined. There was a teenaged girl that looked up when she saw Tom and let out the most adorable squeak. I pulled on his hand and made him stop to take a picture with her, not that Tom needed forcing to be nice to his fans but Tom could be oblivious and she struck me as the type of girl that wouldn’t have the balls to come over and ask for a picture.
“So, want me to drop you off?” he asked, sliding into the driver’s seat. I heard the leather screech and he settled himself comfortably and reached for his seatbelt.
“To the house exactly three doors down from yours?” I laughed, sliding into the passenger’s seat and instantly reaching for the radio, turning on signal one on low.
“Well actually,” He said pausing and waiting for me to fasten my seatbelt before starting the car “I was wondering if I could stay at your house tonight?” He asked. “My house? With my mother?” I asked, knowing that my mother wasn’t at the house but playing hard to get all the same.
“Isn’t she working at the care home tonight?” He pointed out. The beams from the traffic lights bounced across his face as he drove and I found myself watching the patterns with interest. “I’m not sure if I should find it creepy that you know her rota or not, why are you planning on getting me alone?” I asked, regarding him with a fake expression of fear and distrust.
“I want to spend time with my best friend, and also not be surrounded by my parents right now” He replied, his shoulders tensed at the mention of his parents and I instantly understood. “I see where this is going, Nikki still hasn’t come around to the idea of you moving out, has she?” I asked laughing, “She would come around to it a lot easier if you’d come live with me,” He said turning on to our street. The sight of the familiar street made my heart happy in a weird way. “And add fuel to our families attempts at marrying us off?” I asked. I watched the smirk stretch across his face, Tom found our parents inability to accept our friendship as what it was utterly hilarious, I, however, found every single attempt that they made to push us closer together completely humiliating. “Why ruin the habit of a lifetime?” He said as he parked perfectly in front of my house. I got out of the car in lieu of answering the question. I turned to head up the path my front garden, slowing my pace only slightly in order for Tom to catch up to me, and also because my feet were killing me in these heels.
As I suspected, Tom appeared at my side within seconds and I sent him a bemused smile. I opened the door and headed inside. I kicked my heels off and turned around to hang my coat up, to find Tom still outside the door. I cocked my head at him in question.
“What are you a vampire? Need an invite?” I asked. He didn’t laugh
“You never actually said I could stay over,” He said in explanation, digging his feet in the dirt as if he actually expected me to deny him access to what I suspected has become like a second home to him too. He really was a perfect gentleman.
“Come in, you fucking idiot”. I laughed. “You better not hog the blanket this time”

My 10 Comfort Films
Tumblr media
Movies have been a big part of my life for as far back as I can remember. And like any movie-lover, there are some I'll be more inclined to watch than others. Not my absolute favourites or the ones I think of as "the best movies ever" necessarily, but ones I'll always come back to when I have a free afternoon to watch them. And those are the ones I want to list out here. Films that might not be the objective best of their respective fields and franchises, but ones that I just always enjoy watching whenever they're on my screen.
The Isle of Dogs (2018) - Now, I realise that the visual style championed by Wes Anderson (lots of symmetrical shots, characters looking directly into the camera, and so on) can be a bit of an acquired taste, but it definitely works for an animated outing like this one. A story of a bunch of dogs living and trying to survive on an island covered in trash doesn't admittedly sound like the most appealing of movies, but let it never be said that Wes can't make film look good. Voice talent like Brian Cranston and Bill Murray help provide a deadpan style of humour that, while certainly not to everyone's liking, had me hooked from moment one. And of course, as someone who grew up with stop-motion animation, it's always nice to see someone try to keep that style alive, and yes kudos also has to be given to Laika for that. Anderson has only done one other animated work, Fantastic Mr Fox, and between them this is definitely my favourite. I have no idea if he'll ever return to animation, but I have a good feeling it'll be great when he does, because as unpolished as this might sometimes appear, it's nevertheless a great watch.
Porco Rosso (1992) - I may have watched a good number of other anime films in my day, but few have ever managed to match the enjoyment given to me by the movies of Studio Ghibli, and especially not against those of Hayao Miyazaki himself. In fact, I'll even go on record now and say that he might be my all-time favourite filmmaker, since he's never made a movie I didn't like, which I've never been able to say about anyone else. Porco Rosso might not have the kind of deep characters and story of Princess Mononoke, and it might not be anywhere near the sheer visual brilliance of Spirited Away, but it nevertheless engages me deeply whenever I watch it. Of all Miyazaki's films, this might have the fewest fantastical elements to it, with the only real bit of other-worldliness being that the main character is under a curse that turns him into a pig, but never let that lead you to think this doesn't have Miyazaki's signature whimsy all over it. Porco is often an overlooked and under-appreciated movie when compared to Miyazaki's other films, but as far as I'm concerned it deserves to stand alongside even the best of them.
Hercules (1997) - The Disney Renaissance is often lauded for its critically and commercially successful films, and rightfully so. From classics like Little Mermaid to Aladdin, this ten-year stretch of Disney's history has a lot to be pleased about. So it might seem odd that my personal pick from this era is the film often regarded as one of its lesser entries. And I'll grant you, compared to revolutionary films like Little Mermaid, this might not seem particularly special. But it still has a lot to enjoy, especially by me. Yes, the mythology buff in me does indeed wince whenever I see some inaccuracy, but the sheer joy I feel at watching Hercules always negates that. And of course, who could forget one of the most enjoyable villains ever to grace a Disney production, courtesy of the great James Woods. But don't think the movie is carried by him alone, as plenty of the other cast, including Susan Egan and Danny DeVito in particular, do great and making this a fun ride. Between the animation, the voice work, the often-catchy musical numbers and the simple pleasure this film offers, Disney's Hercules proves that it is indeed a hero, and not a zero.
Toy Story 4 (2019) - Toy Story was a groundbreaking movie that kicked down the door for the success of all future computer-animated films. Toy Story 2 was a more-than-worthy addition to the ultra-exclusive club of sequels that were better than the original. Toy Story 3 was a poignant and heartfelt goodbye to a franchise and cast of characters that we had come to know and love over the years. Let's not mince words here, people. Being tasked with creating another sequel in a franchise that had been capped off almost a decade earlier in a way that led many to calling it one of the greatest trilogies of all time must have been an exceptionally daunting prospect. But let it never be said that Pixar can't rise to the challenge when one is presented to them, as Toy Story 4 is a hugely engaging and entertaining flick. Is it as good as those that came before? Well, it's certainly not pushing any boundaries like they did, with the exception of the clear advances in animation that have been made, but even wit that taken into account, it's just a nice film to watch. The farewell given to us here might not have brought a tear to my eye the way the third movie did, but I'd still be happy to have this be the final word on the Toy Story theatrical releases.
The Avengers (2012) - Like everyone, I had been watching and enjoying many of the MCU movies that had been coming up in the years leading up to this big crossover, and like those other people I too had been learning about the eventual team-up through all the various end-credits scenes Marvel had become so famous for. But whether the eventual film would be good was still up in the air. I certainly hoped it'd be entertaining, but I also didn't want to get too hopeful, just in case. Thankfully, Marvel met my expectations and smashed through them, delivering what is, quite possibly, my all-time favourite superhero film. The idea of comic book continuity and crossovers working in a live-action movie had been thought of as almost a laughable notion, but Marvel proved those naysayers wrong in the biggest way possible, showing that not only were these movies capable of being good when all these disparate characters got together, but that they thrived while doing so. Avengers was the first of these big team-ups, and in my eyes it has remained the gold standard. Other entries like Age of Ultron or Infinity War all had their value, but to me nothing will ever quite measure up to this first meeting of such iconic and wonderful characters.
Star Trek Beyond (2016) - I'll be upfront, I wasn't a big fan of the 2009 reboot of the Star Trek franchise, nor was I particularly fond of its 2013 sequel, Into Darkness. For me the movies were just trying too hard to be serious and heavy, and while I fully acknowledge that the Trek fandom has a lot of people who enjoy the more gritty directions the franchise has gone in, I cannot count myself among them. Beyond, by contrast, actually seems like it wants to just be a fun ride, which is something I appreciate a great deal. This is not, in any way, a deep or complicated movie. In fact, when you get right down to it, what we have here is just an episode of the original Trek show just blown up to feature length with some modern-day visuals and cast. But you know, that's okay by me, as the end result was hugely enjoyable. Pine and the rest of the cast, in terms of their acting, seem far more comfortable here than they were with the other films of the trilogy, and special mention has to go to Zachary Quinto as Spock, who was able to perfectly balance not only the character's famous stoicism, but also the moments of drama and humour the role called for. This is not the greatest Star Trek movie ever made, but it's one I enjoy more than anything else in the franchise.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) - A common trend with me as far as Star Wars trilogies are concerned is that the first movie in that grouping will always be the one I enjoy watching most, and it seems that pattern continued with the release of Disney's foray into the franchise. Force Awakens is often maligned as being too similar to the original 1977 film, and while I can certainly see those similarities, that isn't anywhere near enough of a reason for me to dislike it. New characters like Rey, Finn and BB-8 were instantly endearing to me and I always enjoyed seeing the three of them together and working off one another. Harrison Ford's return was welcome and he definitely gave it his all, though Carrie Fisher was no slouch either. There's nothing especially revolutionary about this movie, and really the only thing that gets it on this list is just pure likeability. But as far as I'm concerned, that's all a movie needs. Abrams has a noted talent when it comes to recreating the look of sci-fi movies of past decades, and that talent is on full display here, as the movie looks right at home with every other Star Wars story out there. Disney's other films in this trilogy might not have brought me as much joy, but I'll always have this one to pick me up again.
Shin Godzilla (2016) - Okay, given that this is a list of movies I like to just watch while chilling, Shin Godzilla probably seems like an odd pick. I've talked about it before and mentioned repeatedly how it's probably the most serious and unhappy Godzilla film to date. So why go for this instead of something more exciting like King of the Monsters? Well, it's hard to put into words, but there's just something about this movie that draws me to it. It's one I respect certainly, owing largely to its goal of recreating everything that made the original Gojira movie great but putting it in a modern setting, but besides that there's just a quality that I can't put my finger on. Maybe it's the fact that, despite my previously-mentioned dislike of movies trying to be serious, this is one of the rare examples of that seriousness actually fitting the kind of film I'm watching. It's a movie of Godzilla at his most dangerous, horrific and nightmarish, and whose great terror is thwarted only by the collective efforts of a group of political, scientific and military misfits, yet I'm on the edge of my seat unable to look away throughout the whole thing. No idea if that rumoured sequel will ever come to pass, but I can only hope it's as engrossing as this one was.
Legend (1985) - By far the oldest movie you'll find on this list, this gem of a story by famed director Ridley Scott is a fairy tale of a young woodland boy hoping to rescue his fair love from a wicked demon. Now that sounds about as generic a fantasy story as you can make, and in truth the movie is more interested in creating as unique visual portrayal of that classic setup than it is in revolutionizing or pushing it in any way. But what a visual spectacle it is. It's really hard to put into words just what it's like to watch this movie, and most of the time it feel like you're watching some feature-length dream sequence. That certainly makes it an oddity among other fantasy flicks of its era, but "classic fairy tale executed perfectly" is a pretty good reason to love it. Thankfully, it also has some great performances to help bring that whole thing to life, with the star-making turn of course being that of the great Tim Curry as the movie's central antagonist. If there's a list of great movie fantasy villains out there, Curry's character absolutely deserves to be on it, and chances are he'll be the thing you end up remembering most if you ever decide to watch this yourselves.
Demolition Man (1993) - I'm admittedly not a big watcher of the big, muscly action flicks that dominated the 80s and 90s, but this one actually caught my interest a few years back. A film that, while certainly showing off some pretty intense fight scenes, also had a lot of smart things to say. Ideas that you didn't normally see in beefcake action titles, like the importance of the balance between personal freedom and the collective good. A society where murder has been eradicated, but at the cost of many of the things we know and love today. It might not be the best at that particular discussion, but it's certainly something to note given that I don't normally consider this particular genre to be the place to think about it. But of course the big draw is the two leads, Stallone and Snipes, and yeah they are definitely having fun in their roles. Stallone is a far better actor than most people give him credit for, and this is definitely a role I enjoyed watching him in, especially since they actually allow him to be occasionally funny. Any action movie that remembers that you need to tell a joke every once in a while has my respect, and it's just one more thing about this fine move to like.
So yeah, those are my regular comfort movies. Some odd choices maybe, but hey, I like what I like 🥰

Chapter 6 - Aggravation
-
Peter didn’t have long to enjoy the calm and quiet before his parents woke up and steadily the house seemed to come to life. Soon, Tony came into the kitchen.
“Have you finished that drink?”
“Nearly” Peter said. “Why?”
“When you’ve finished it, don’t get another one, or anything to eat. Ok?”
“Um... Ok?”
“Good boy” Tony nodded, opening the fridge. “You need to get dressed today”
“I... Wasn’t going to not get dressed”
“Mm” Tony said, clearly not listening.
Peter sighed and downed the rest of his drink. There goes the peace, he thought.
-
Peter went out of his way to keep his distance from Tony, which wasn’t too difficult, given the size of the house. After about an hour, he heard Tony calling his name, but he chose not to take any notice.
Unfortunately, Loki always knew how to find him, and he weaselled him out within minutes.
“Your father’s been calling you” Loki said. “Didn’t you hear?”
“...No”
“Yes you did. Come on now”
Peter whined and stayed where he was.
“Loki? Have you found him?!” Tony shouted, soon appearing in the doorway. “Oh, you’re there! Did you have your headphones on? Whatever; get your shoes on”
“Why?”
“Just do as you’re told, chick” Tony said firmly.
“But why?!”
“Because I said so!”
“That’s not a good enough answer!”
“For gods sake, Peter! Just do as you’re told!”
“BUT WHY?!”
“Peter, stop shouting” Loki snapped. “Go and get your shoes on. Now”
Peter sighed in an exaggerated fashion and stormed off. So much for a quiet day at home.
-
Tony grabbed Loki while he was waiting for Peter.
“He’s ok, right?”
“Yes, he’s fine” Loki said. “Why?”
“I don’t need to overshare with him, right? We’ll just get it done, and then I’ll like, I don’t know... Treat him or something?”
“Tony, you’re overthinking this. You made the decision alone; you can execute it alone” Loki said, not quite hiding his disapproval. “Look, I really do need to get going”
“You said you weren’t going to work this week”
“I know, but I’m needed today. We’ll talk later, ok? I love you”
“I love you too...”
Loki kissed him, and Tony kissed him back, although he still seemed worried.
“Don’t look so scared, darling” Loki said. “I’m sure it’ll be fine. I’ll be back this evening”
-
Peter got ready to go out, but when they got down to the garage, he held onto the banister and refused to get into the car.
“Peter, stop being silly: we’re going to be late” Tony said. “Do you want me to get your dad?”
“Just tell me where we’re going and I’ll get in the car”
Tony sighed heavily. “Just get in the car”
“JUST TELL ME WHERE WE’RE GOING THEN!”
“PETER! DON’T SHOUT!” Tony shouted. “We’ve got a doctors appointment. Happy now?”
Peter paused. “Ok. I don’t see why you had to refuse to tell me for so long”
“Just get in the car, Peter”
-
Peter watched Tony closely in the car. He seemed a little tense, but he wasn’t giving anything away. Peter assumed he was due for a blood test or something - he couldn’t see any other reason Tony would try to put off telling him - but even then, it wasn’t something he’d ever done before. But then again, Tony had been acting pretty weird lately, so who was he to judge? He just hoped it wouldn’t take too long: he wanted to go home.
-
The other patients in the waiting room weren’t exactly subtle. Peter hated the feeling of being watched, and he hated overhearing snippets of whispered conversations and mutterings about him and his family. He glared at them as he sat down. Tony sat beside him and put an arm tight round him, almost as though he were restraining him.
“Just ignore them” he murmured. “We don’t need to give anyone anything to react to”
Peter didn’t say anything. He leant into Tony and looked at the floor, following the swirling pattern with his eyes. At least being at the doctors demanded some kind of privacy, even if they were celebrities. Even so, he really wished he was somewhere - anywhere - other than here.
It wasn’t long before their names were called and they could leave the waiting room.
“How are you?” Dr Manning asked.
“I’m alright, thanks. As much as I can be under the circumstances. And you?” Tony said.
“I can’t complain. And how are you, young man?”
Peter didn’t say anything; just followed them into the office.
“Thanks for fitting us in at such short notice” Tony said, taking a seat. “How are you doing it? Are you doing blood?”
Dr Manning shook his head. “No, no, blood isn’t necessary. There’s other just as good ways - maybe even better ways - to do it”
“Oh good. You know this one hates needles” he nodded towards Peter. “And to be honest, I’m not a huge fan either”
“I don’t think anyone is” Dr Manning said, organising some items laid out on his desk. He picked up one of the sticks, which had what looked like corrugated foam at the end. “When did you two last eat?”
“I had something about three hours ago” Tony said. “I’ve made sure this one hasn’t had anything for a while either. About an hour and a half ago, maybe more?”
“Good. Good, thank you for heeding my advice” the doctor said. “Now, shall we do you first?”
Peter looked between the two grown-ups, trying to work out what was going on. He’d started to feel a little funny; a bit sick and hollow, and nervous. He didn’t know what he was doing here.
Dr Manning was leaning against his desk now, standing in front of Peter, and Tony, who had just said he’d go first - whatever that meant. Peter tried to make eye contact to question them, but neither men were looking at him. Peter watched, a little taken aback, as Tony opened his mouth. It was only when Dr Manning put the stick into his mouth that Peter twigged that it was a swab - and he suddenly knew why.
His heart started to thump in his chest, and he felt sick. He couldn’t take his eyes off what was happening, but he hated it all the same. What was going on? This was a dream, surely? Tony had been so insistent, so clear that he was against this... So what had changed? What had he missed?
Peter waited, and all too soon the fourth swab was finished and packed, and all eyes turned to him. Tony refused eye contact. Dr Manning smiled.
“Alright, kiddo” he said. “Your turn”
“No”
Tony and Dr Manning looked at each other. Tony looked at Peter.
“What do you mean; no?”
“You didn’t tell me this was why we were coming! You didn’t say anything about this!” Peter said, outraged. “It’s not fair! You haven’t got any right to do this!”
“Peter, you can cope with having a few swabs in your mouth” Tony said. “It’s not a big deal, and you’re still just a kid: I can make medical decisions on your behalf, and you can’t back out of this one”
“Isn’t it technically a matter of science, not medicine?”
“Don’t be pedantic, Peter” Tony sighed. “Come on, kiddo; don’t be difficult”
“I’m not being difficult: I’m being perfectly reasonable! You should’ve told me about this, or at least ran it by me!”
At first Peter hadn’t been so bothered about this prospect, but then he’d changed his mind, and now that he was being backed into a corner by it, it was the last thing in the world that he wanted.
“But why?! You always said never to give in to the press, and that’s what you’re doing! You said it didn’t matter!”
“I said a lot of things” Tony said. “But I’ve made a decision. I’m doing this for you, sweetheart”
“No you’re not!”
“Yes, I am! I’m doing it so I can get the press off our backs - yours, most importantly. They’re not gonna leave us alone until something else blows up, or they’ve got the proof they want - and ‘something else’ is taking too long. So we’re giving them proof that you’re not my biological son. Ok?”
“No, it’s not ok!”
Tony sighed. “If it doesn’t matter, why make such a fuss over the test?”
“It’s a matter of principal!”
Tony laughed slightly. “Peter, come on now”
“Perhaps” Dr Manning said. “Perhaps you should have told him before bringing him here”
“Exactly!” Peter nodded. “Thank you”
“Peter, no one is going to hold you down and force your mouth open. If you don’t want to do this, I certainly won’t make you. But try to understand where your father’s coming from”
“I do understand where he’s coming from! I just think it was wrong of him to force it on me like this”
“Sweetheart” Tony took hold of Peter’s hand. “I’m sorry. I really am. But I really need you to let me do this. It’s my job to look after you, and protecting you from the press is part of my job description. This is the only way to get them off our backs. Please, it’ll only take a few minutes”
Peter looked at the swabs lying on the doctors desk. He looked at his and his father’s hands. He didn’t feel sure about this, and he didn’t like it, not one bit. But he also had a feeling that even if he was technically being given a choice, he only really had one option.
So he nodded, and he saw Tony sigh with relief.
“Thank you”
Peter never especially liked Dr Manning touching him, but somehow this felt worse than ever. He didn’t like being so close either, and not knowing where to look. He finally settled on the clock, watching the seconds tick by painfully slowly. Four minutes had never felt like such a long time.
-
Tony stopped when they reached the car, and put a hand on Peter’s shoulder to stop him. Peter made himself look at him.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, kiddo. I really am. Honestly”
Peter nodded slightly.
“...Thank you” Tony said. “Thank you for doing it anyway. I know it’s not very comfortable”
Tony rested a hand on Peter’s cheek, brushed his hair back from his face, and then pulled him close and hugged him tight.
“I really am doing it for you, kiddo. I can’t stand the way the press have been treating you and making you feel. In a few days, we’ll get the results, and then we can put this whole thing to rest. Ok?”
Peter snuggled into Tony’s chest. He still felt a bit funny, but he was starting to feel better. He liked the feeling of Tony’s hand on his head, and he knew where he was coming from. Besides, Tony had always looked out for him. Why would now be any different?
“Alright then” Tony stepped back and cleared his throat. “Get in”
Peter did as he was told, and when Tony started the car, he spoke.
“Um, dad?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m kinda hungry”
“Yeah?” Tony said. “Well, let’s get you fed, then!”
“Ok. What do we have in? I kinda fancy something hot”
“Why bother cooking? We could always eat out”
“Oh! Really? Um...” Peter thought for a moment. “What about daddy?”
“He’s gone to the hospital, remember?”
“Has he?”
“Uh, yeah!” Tony laughed slightly. “I guess you didn’t hear that bit of conversation then. He’ll be back this evening. He won’t know, mind, or care if we eat without him. So, what do you fancy?”
“I don’t really know. What about you?”
“I don’t really know either” Tony said. “Hey, how about we just find somewhere different, like, one of the places you used to go with May? Or somewhere we’ve never been before? What do you say?”
“Well... That could be interesting, I guess” Peter said. “It could be good?”
“Yeah, it could be good! Let’s do that then!”
Tony seemed so enthusiastic about the idea that Peter couldn’t really shoot it down. Besides, sometimes it was good to try something new.
“Well, you can pick the restaurant” Peter said, fiddling with the car stereo. “And I’ll choose the soundtrack”
There was a short silence before music filled the car.
Tony laughed slightly and ruffled the boys hair. “You’re definitely your father’s son, you know”
Peter just shrugged. He knew.
-
Peter had a sneaking suspicion he’d overestimated his stomach when ordering. He had a feeling Tony had too.
“Well, my father always said my eyes were bigger than my belly” Tony said, putting his fork down. “It was his way of calling me a greedy bastard, I think”
“Oh right” Peter said awkwardly. “You never talk about him, you know”
“Why would I?”
“Well... he was your dad. So... that makes him my granddad... It’d be good to know a bit about him”
“Look on Wikipedia then”
Peter pouted, but he didn’t push it. Neither of his parents spoke about their parents. Sometimes he didn’t mind, but sometimes he did. Especially when his friends started talking about their grandparents and he had nothing to contribute to the conversation.
“So” Tony said. “Do you think you can manage a pudding after all those buffalo cauliflower whatsits and onion rings and chicken and stuff?”
“You bet!” Peter said, grateful for the break in tension. “What about you?”
“Maybe something small. Depends what they’ve got”
“They had some great looking stuff! I might want two puddings” Peter said, snatching a dessert menu out of the stand. “Good job we have separate stomachs for sweet things, right?”
Tony chuckled. “Your whale’s gonna have to retire from singing at this rate! You’ll burst if you eat too much more. Or at the very least throw up”
“Yeah, maybe, but it’ll be worth it”
“Mm, well I don’t want you making a mess of the upholstery, so don’t go overboard”
“...Red velvet and white chocolate cheesecake” Peter said. “I’ve made a decision”
“Mm. Well, I’m just gonna have a coffee...”
“What kind?” Peter asked, looking at the list, and especially at the liqueur coffee offer at the bottom of the page.
Tony hesitated. “...Just a latte. I’ve already eaten too much. I’ll finish off your cheesecake when you give up half way through”
“Ha! There’s not a dessert on the planet that can beat me!”
He was wrong, of course, and gave up a little over halfway through his pudding - but he told Tony that he left it on purpose, because it didn’t seem fair for only one of them to get a pudding. So Tony finished it off for him, and then they both sat back, feeling too full to even move.
“...It’s been a pretty long time since just the two of us did this” Tony said. “It’s good to spend a bit of time with you”
“Yeah... Hey, since we’re too full to start a fight, can I ask you something?”
“That sounds ominous” Tony said. “What is it?”
“Are you taking me out of St Hendricks?”
Tony stopped for a minute. “...What makes you think that?”
“I overheard you and daddy talking about homeschooling”
“Ah. Uh...” Tony set his mug down. “How would you feel if we did?”
Peter shrugged. “I don’t know. If you did it right now, I don’t think I’d care. I’m not exactly getting on with the people there right now”
“I see”
“So, are you taking me out of school?”
“We’re not sure yet. We’re still thinking about it. Although not so much right now, because we’ve got a whole bunch of stuff to sort out. Like all this stuff with the press... You know you’re not allowed to tell anyone about what we did today, right?”
“Who am I gonna tell?” Peter said, shrugging. “I’m not gonna go shouting about it. I think you know that. Or at least you should, considering how long you’ve known me”
“Yeah” Tony checked his watch. “Hey, we should be heading back: I’ve got a conference call in an hour. You can amuse yourself for a bit, can’t you?”
Peter nodded.
“Good. Right, come on then”
Peter did as he was told, but as they were walking to the car, he realised that the meal they’d just had was much better in theory than in practice. He’d thought he’d come out of there feeling healed and warm and happy, but he didn’t. He didn’t like his father very much right now, and he wasn’t afraid to admit that to himself. Maybe he’d go to sleep for a bit when he got home. He just hoped that afterwards, he’d feel ok again.
-
Peter sat looking in Loki’s room, looking at the big picture on the wall by the door. It was old now, evident by the fact it was all three of them with May. Things had been much simpler back then, Peter was sure of it. He loved his parents, but he still felt he’d swap his current life to get May back. Sure, some things were better now (well, quite a lot of things), but he’d been happy back in the days where he was only in this giant house two or three nights a week, and he resided in the scrubby old flat in Queens with May, and he was friends with Ned, and he mastered a double - almost triple - life, and he was out as Spiderman every single night.
He couldn’t help feeling melancholy when he thought about that. Nowadays, he probably went out as Spiderman once or twice a week, if that. Some weeks he didn’t go at all. There were times where he’d go out every night for a week or so, but it wasn’t a constant thing. It wasn’t that he’d lost interest, or that it had lost its meaning: it was just that he didn’t always have the motivation, and somehow life kept getting in the way. Besides, it had started to feel different, mainly because he kept comparing it to the old times in Queens. Spiderman was still well known, but Peter had long since stopped being excited whenever his alter-ego turned up in the papers. At least no one knew it was him. Well, aside from his parents. And the Avengers. And Ned... But none of those were likely to spill his secret, and he knew that. Sometimes he felt like he wouldn’t care if people knew - but he also felt like his parents would mind very much. It was a tricky one.
-
Peter eventually slipped off Loki’s bed and went to his own room. He paused, looking at the locket hanging beside his sink. He liked having it there (although he did often forget about it), but sometimes it just reminded him of the “arrangement” Loki and Tony and May had had. He’d stopped feeling bitter about that a long time ago, but he still didn’t like thinking about it. Especially now. Because if he thought about it too much, he almost started to believe what the papers were saying. And even when he didn’t believe them, he completely understood where the reporters were coming from.
After all, what other conclusion would anyone pull from a man who had spent most of his adult life being a self-proclaimed Playboy? Who knew how many people his father had slept with? That was another thing Peter didn’t like thinking about. Sometimes, when Tony talked about Peter being his heir; his successor, he couldn’t help thinking that maybe - just maybe - he was fated to follow a little too closely in his father’s footsteps.
And as much as Peter loved him, he was grateful he was only adopted. Because, (as much as he’d never admit it out loud) he didn’t want to grow up to be anything like Tony Stark.

Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for some canons to play against one of my ocs. I’ll supply their information and fandoms after I get through the boringness of rules and introductions and such.
I’m Tulsa and I’m twenty-one so please please please be over eighteen, bc I’m not tryna catch a case.
Not to mention, usually when someone wants to double they want me to play a male character, which I simply can’t do…. Literally.
Due to corona though, I’m available nearly all day for quick replies! I will always do my best to send out a reply at least once a day though, but on weekends you can expect quick replies throughout the day.
I think that’s it for all of the formalities, so onto the fun stuff!
Vampire Diaries
Kol Mikaelson & Averie Forbes… BIO: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kZthnbN1uGMLaGh_MVjBV2Sgmy_qtY9xYuPU0Q7BUaA/edit?usp=sharing
Plot ideas: i really want to do something with Stockholm syndrome? Like maybe he takes her as a way to get back at Klaus or something?
Marvel/MCU
Loki Laufeyson & Eira Jarledottir… BIO: https://docs.google.com/document/d/102xmk63dnwe5RMbJegfi-cy4AZtev2IZVafhaejuCvw
Plot Ideas: when Loki is disguised as Odin and we can have her come back to Asgard and she’s completely heartbroken when she finds out Loki is ‘dead’. Or, we could do something set before the films if we’d like! Or something kind of AU where Eira is there when Loki finds out about his true lineage.
If you’re interested, please feel free to reach out via email ([email protected]), kik (@brittzobrien), and/or Discord (gldenskies#5545)

Save Me - Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Pairings: Steve Rogers x Reader, multiple MCU characters
Word Count: 2482
Summary: Y/N has finally landed her dream job as a lifeguard on Midgard Beach, but how well will she fit in with the team and how will she cope after grabbing the attention of the blue-eyed captain?
***Masterlist***
A/N: I’ve had a lot of free time recently so I’ll try to post as quick as possible. For some reason it’s not letting me add line breaks so I’ve just put asterisks where a line break should be. I’m really enjoying writing so far so I hope you all enjoy it as well xx :))
“Hi,” the new girl spoke up, raising her hand to wave at the group.
Bucky leaned closer to Steve’s ear, whispering quietly so the rest of the room couldn’t hear, “She’s kinda cute.”
Steve chuckled to himself as he shook his head; of course that was Bucky’s first thought about their new coworker.
“I thought you were dating that redheaded swimsuit model?” Steve whispered back, causing Bucky to laugh quietly.
“Hey, what’s wrong with acknowledging beauty?”
“You’re impossible,” Steve smiled.
“She’s kind of small to be a lifeguard, don’t you think?” Clint whispered to Natasha
“That’s what you said about me when I first started,” Natasha responded.
“That’s because you were small. Are small I should say,” Clint laughed as Natasha playfully punched him.
“I can still beat your ass old man.”
“I didn’t know we were getting a new member,” Peter exclaimed to Tony.
“That’s because you don’t read Fury’s emails,” Tony laughed, watching as Peter dropped his head in embarrassment.
“Well it’s not my fault he sends so many!”
The room was lulled back to silence from a single stare from Fury, grabbing everyones attention once more.
“I want everyone down at the beach in ten minutes in your gear. I’ll leave you to get to know Y/N,” Fury said, turning on his heals as he exited the way he had come.
***
You pleaded for Fury to come back as you watched him walk away, his strides long and quick as he carried himself out the door, leaving you alone with a group full of strangers. When his presence had left the room all eyes returned to you once more.
The silence was deafening.
“I guess I’ll introduce myself first then,” a redheaded woman spoke up, getting up from her chair to shake your hand. “I’m Natasha.”
“It’s lovely to meet you,” you replied, flashing Natasha a friendly smile as you took her hand in yours, grateful for the break in the awkward silence.
Natasha went around the room one by one, introducing everyone to you. None of them bothered to get up and shake your hand as Natasha had done, simply opting  to stay where they were and wave or nod at you in acknowledgement instead. All of the new names became overwhelming as you tried to remember everyone. You had always prided yourself on your exceptional memory, however it was really being put to the test as each new name was presented.
Before Natasha had the chance to introduce the last person, he spoke up instead, “I’m Steve.”
Without a moments hesitation the large blonde-haired man stood from his seated position on the couch, making his way towards you with an outstretched hand. As your eyes met his you were suddenly a bit star-struck, the sharpness of his jawline and the kindness of his smile causing you to swoon internally.
“Pleasure to meet you,” you responded as he returned to his seat, his eyes never leaving yours.
“How long have you been a lifeguard for?” A voice spoke up, making you severe your eye contact with Steve. You turned to face the man who had spoken; Tony, if you remembered correctly. He was watching you with one eyebrow raised, his face void of emotion.
“Oh pretty much all my life,” you responded. “I was in a junior lifeguard program when I was in high school and then when I graduated I just took any lifeguard job that would have me.”
You began reminiscing about your many years away from your hometown, packing nothing but your board and a few clothes as you chased the summer all around the world. Hawaii, South Africa, Indonesia - you went anywhere that would take you. The coasts of Australia had been your favourite; the suffocating heat mixed with the multiple death threats of the land ensuring that your time there had been full of crazy adventures. You had longed to go back the second you had boarded the plane home. However you knew that the nomad lifestyle had been taking its toll on you for years, finally deciding that a full-time job back home was the best way for you to begin a new chapter of your life.
You conversed with the team for a few more minutes, being asked various questions about your lifeguarding experience. The questions came in rapid succession, each one catching you off guard as you scrambled to think of answers, becoming more uncomfortable by the minute.
“I reckon it’s about time we head down to Fury,” Steve spoke up, standing from his chair without another word.
A few groans escaped the room in acknowledgment of the fitness test that they were all about to be subject to, whilst others began trash talking each other once more. As the team began heading down to the beach you clung close to Natasha’s side before Wanda joined the two of you. Being the only girls on the squad meant that a bond of camaraderie had already been formed between you and the other girls. You chatted idly with them as you walked across the sand, watching as your other coworkers talked quietly among themselves, glancing back at you periodically.
“Everyone here looks so intimidating,” you spoke up, motioning to the tall and muscular figures of all the men.
Natasha threw her head back and laughed, “I wouldn’t worry about them. They may all look big and strong, but it takes stamina and determination to win these fitness tests.”
You took that in mind as the team met up with Fury, beginning to take off their various forms of warm clothing to reveal their swimsuits underneath. You, Natasha and Wanda all wore matching red one-pieces that had LIFEGUARD in big bold letters on the back whilst the boys simply took their shirts off, already dressed in their red board shorts.
You couldn’t help yourself as you looked around at the various handsome and half-naked men surrounding you. Steve, however, was the one to especially capture your gaze as your watched his back muscles in action as he took his shirt off. Natasha smirked next to you as she followed your gaze.
Dumping your clothes and towels in a pile on the sand, everyone stood at attention, waiting for Fury’s instructions.
“Ok everyone!” His voice boomed, trying to combat the howl from the vicious breeze whipping around you.
“I know you’ve all done this a handful of times, but for Y/N’s sake I’m going to walk you through the test. You will start off with an ocean swim. You must swim up to, and go around, the first buoy, swim across to the second one, and then swim back to shore. From there you will grab a paddle board and paddle through the same course that you swam. Once back on shore you must run up and around the three flags I have placed along the beach. You will then repeat the course. Once the first person crosses the line, the rest of you will have five minutes to cross the line or else you’ll be disqualified. If you do not pass this test you will not be qualified as a lifeguard. Do I make myself clear?!”
“Yes, sir!” The team shouted back.
Fury’s words had seemed to strike a cord among the group. The trash talking had come to a halt as everyone now became serious. You looked around at the others as you lined up along the shore, their faces stoic as they took deep breaths to calm their nerves.
“Pace yourself,” Steve whispered from next to you. You hadn’t noticed him as he had stepped in line next to you, your nerves calming significantly as you met his piecing gaze. You nodded in acknowledgement and thanks as you flashed him a grin before turning your head back to the ocean.
“On your marks!” Fury roared. “Get set! Go!”
The entire teamed rushed forward as Fury began the time on his stop watch. As your feet touched the water a chill ran up your spine at the temperature drop. It was still early morning, and the sun hadn’t had sufficient time to warm the water yet.
Having gotten to a deep enough spot in the ocean you dove head first, submerging yourself under the waves as the cold water encompassed your entire body. Like always, as soon as you were submerged a calming feeling washed over you, allowing you to forget about the race and your competition around you. It was now just an early morning swim; one of countless you had completed before.
As you swam along, letting your mind wander, you couldn’t help but think back to Steve and his God-like muscles. Wanda had informed you of Steve’s position in the group as the Captain. It didn’t surprise you; he seemed to have an authoritative presence and by the way he interacted with the group it was clear no one protested his command. Well, except for maybe Tony.
The quick-mouthed genius was the longest running member of the squad, as Natasha had informed you. He had saved countless lives, his quick thinking and expert problem solving leading him to be one of the best members on the team. His onslaught of questions back at the tower had made you a bit uneasy. But by the way he interacted with his coworkers - constantly bantering with them whilst maintaining his easy-going attitude - you could tell he was a good man.
Before you knew it the drag of the waves had began aiding you as you swam back to shore, pulling you out of your thoughts. You couldn’t quite remember when you had passed either of the buoys, knowing that your body must have instinctively taken you in the right direction. You let the waves do most of the work as you glided back onto the sand. Climbing out of the ocean, you started off in the direction of the paddle boards before a wave of confusion washed over you.
Each paddle board stood still and untouched where Fury had left them by the shore.
“Wait…I’m first?” You mumbled to yourself, looking out back at the ocean to see your team mates all still on various stages of the course. You watched as Steve was the next one to emerge from the water, looking at you with confusion as he saw you standing motionless on the shore next to your paddle board. The look  brought you back down to earth as you quickly got back into action, grabbing a board and dragging it back down to the shore.
You had been in your element during the swimming portion of the trial, however it became more and more clear to you that you were now currently in Steve’s element as you felt him get closer and closer to your board. You were neck and neck as you rounded the first buoy, him gaining momentum and easing ahead as you rounded the second. He reached the shore before you, dragging himself and the board out of the water with ease.
Dumping your board next to his, you ran off down the beach after him.
***
The rest of the trial went by in a blur. For the most part you and Steve were constantly competing to inch in front of one another. There were points where he’d start to ease ahead of you only to be overtaken by you a couple of minutes later. Nat nearly overtook both of you as she ran across the sand with ease, whilst Thor, Tony and Clint trailed closely behind her. The rest of the team were constantly shifting positions. Bucky and Sam too busy trying to beat each other to care about the placements of the rest of their team mates.
You had made sure to be more focused during the second ocean swim, pulling ahead as far as you could before you reached the paddle boards again. Racing out of the water you began to feel the effects of the strenuous exercise. You were now breathing quite heavily and your legs and arms felt quite fatigued due to your increased pace in the water. Nevertheless your plan had worked as you noticed your lead in front of your competition had grown significantly.
You gave him a cheeky wink as you passed him with your paddle board under your arm.
He was quickly on you as you paddled though the water, his strokes long and powerful, propelling him further ahead with each stroke. You weren’t surprised when he eventually passed you, reaching the shore further ahead of you than you’d like.
It was now the last stretch.
You could see Fury standing next to the flag that signalled the end of the course, holding the stop watch in his hand as he eyed you and Steve clearly battling it out for first place.
Sand running had never been your favourite past time, a trait you now wished you had practiced more considering how much your calves were burning. Steve was watching you from the corner of his eye as you slowly caught up to him. You could see the effects that the course was having on him; his forehead was covered with a mixture of sweat and ocean water and his mouth hung open, panting heavily. Knowing you mirrored his tired expression you tried to push the pain in your calves and lungs to the back of your mind. You knew Natasha couldn’t be too far behind you, and with how fast you saw her travel along the beach, you knew you needed to keep up your pace.
The finish line was so close now and with a newfound burst of energy you began sprinting, Steve followed your lead and upped his pace to match yours. You were nearly there, Steve inching ahead before you pushed in front of him. It was neck and neck and Fury couldn’t help the smirk that spread across his face as he saw your determined expression mirroring the Captain’s.
With one more burst of energy Steve surged forward, crossing the finish line only moments before you. As soon as your legs crossed the line you toppled over, laying down on your back as you gasped for air.
“Five minutes!” You heard Fury yell, notifying the other team members of their impending timeframe.
One by one, each member crossed the finish line, each one panting for breath as they congratulated Steve on his win, not bothering to congratulate you on your victory in getting second place. It hurt you just a bit as each team member ignored you, instead making their way over to Steve. Everyone made it across the line well before the timeframe was up with Peter, the junior trainee, coming in last due to his inexperience.
The sound of the team’s heavy panting filled the air as you all began to make your way back to the tower.

Fresh Start (Part 5)
Fresh Start (Part 5)
Fandom: Marvel, MCU
Basic Summary: Everyone’s favorite ol’ AU where we forget Infinity War ever happened! Loki and Thor are living with the Avengers because why not. Reader is hired to work for Tony and Pepper, and she and her son soon meet Loki. Etc Etc Etc - Part 5, The date goes pretty horribly
Pairing: Loki x Reader (Single Mom Reader)
Warnings: some semi suggestive language?, some dude being a tool. No smut, but some something something right at the end.
A/n: This chapter takes place directly after chapter 4. I rewrote a lot of this multiple times over until I felt like I couldn’t change it anymore for my own sanity. Hopefully this is the best version. I still need to do a major edit of the entire story to fix little grammatical things 😛
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5
---------------------
The night started out great. Your friend, Lena, introduced her girlfriend with a huge grin on her face. She was obviously excited to show her off. The woman turned out to be extremely charming, kind, and very silly, which was exactly what you expected knowing Lena's tastes. You didn't even feel like a third wheel as the three of you got drinks at the bar while you waited for the remainder of your party to arrive.
At exactly 8 o'clock you heard a voice call out for Lena. She turned and greeted a rather short, but attractive man who was appeared about your age. He introduced himself and as you went to shake his hand he wrapped his fingers around your own and brought your hand up to his mouth, kissing your knuckles. You froze in place for a second.
First you couldn't believe this very action you once thought only happened in fairy tales had happened to you twice in the last month. Secondly you couldn't help but compare this to when Loki did the same few weeks ago. Even if Loki's actions had confused you in the moment, the little kiss had felt natural and it sent thrills through you. Loki's lips were soft and gentle. You wondered briefly why nothing like that had happened between you two since that moment. You had been spending more time together. He always showed up just as you were putting the kids down for naps and the two of you would read together, eat lunch, or just chat until they woke back up. It did get a little flirty sometimes, but nothing remotely like that little kiss happened again.
This was a different experience all together. This kiss was somehow too wet and too dry all at once, plus this man gripped your fingers so tightly they actually hurt. In fact, you attempted to pull out hand free and he held tight for another brief moment before releasing you.
Glancing around the large club you started to suggest getting a table, but suddenly felt you didn't want to be stuck inside a booth with this guy. You smiled weakly at him as you offered him the seat next to you at the bar. You all began chatting about work and college. It started out pleasant and he seemed like a rather smart guy, but you also learned quickly he was a unique combination of vapid and vain. He could steer any conversation back to himself, which you wanted to say was a good thing when first getting to know someone, but he didn't offer anything interesting. He kept bringing up how he was 'the best' in his fraternity, 'the best' in class, 'the best' in his internship for some telemarketing company, but never actually saying anything about what he did during those times or anything to give light into his personality.
Outside, Loki thought hard about where you would go. He figured you weren't going too far from Tony's house and you'd prefer somewhere close to a subway entrance. He knew you'd refuse to go anywhere that wouldn't allow you to get to Jonas in mere minutes in case of an emergency. Unfortunately his lack in specific knowledge of the city was proving unhelpful. Luckily, upon passing one club entrance he felt you. Your aura was easy to recognize if he focused. He waltzed in ignoring the bouncer who didn't dare stop him.
By the end of your second drink you were a bit tipsy and utterly bored. You hadn't even intended to have more than one drink because you didn't want to get drunk around a stranger. Plus, you could add drinking to the list of things you've done very little off lately. You kept drinking because it was something to distract from how uninteresting this guy was. Lena did her best to keep the conversation going and the mood light. She could tell you weren't into it and was doing her best to salvage the situation but she herself was getting distracted by the pretty girl on her arm who wanted to dance.
When the song changed to something a more minor and melodic compared to the uppity dance pop playing moments ago. Lena's girlfriend squealed with excitement and dragged her lady love away to the dance floor going on about her favorite song. You sighed to yourself, thinking maybe you did miss that connection more than you thought you did. They looked so enamored with each other as they cuddled up close on the dance floor.
Your date spoke up, placing his hand on your upper arm. You assumed it was an offer to dance, but you didn't have time to acknowledge him because this tall man was suddenly standing between you both having pushed away the man's arm. You looked up at him and were starstruck. Everything about him was dark, his hair, eyes and clothes that seemed straight out of a gothic novel. No, something straight out of modern telling of a greek tragedy. All in all, the look totally worked for you. Something about him was very familiar, but you couldn't place it. He smiled wickedly at you, but you didn't feel intimidated, his familiarity calming you. He offered you a hand and you accepted before your mind could even register the possible threat. You stood up to follow him.
You found yourself being pulled through the mob of people dancing until you were in a far corner, close to a hallway that led to bathrooms. Once he stopped moving, he turned back to face you and you found yourself being pulled close to him.
"Look, if it wasn't obvious, I wasn't exactly enjoying myself back there. But that doesn't give you the right to sweep me away. I can handle myself." You told this phantom suitor, as you came to your senses and placed both hand on his chest to push him away, but didn't actually move to do so.
"Perhaps." He drawled, "but isn't it fun to leave him wondering why he could not even compete with a stranger?"
You stared at him as he spoke, even if the voice was foreign to you, the way he talked was familiar too. You watched him smirk at you in a way you know you've seen before. As he began to sway slightly, you followed suit, letting him place his hands on your waist.
"Do I know you?" You asked trying so hard to retain a neutral expression.
"Not as well as I would like you to." He answered, his eyes not leaving yours as he did. You expected a cryptic answer and chose to ignore it.
"It isn't Halloween, why the costume?" You ask, maybe if he kept talking you'd remember how you knew him.
"I thought you'd like it. It's my modern take on something I knew you admired. A beautifully dark god, so you called him." As he spoke he moved one hand up your back and the resulting cool tingle up your spine was too familiar not to recognize. "With you all dolled up in green like a true goddess, I only found it fitting."
"No...." you said disbelieving, "how...you're not....you look...what are you doing here..." You mumbled again confused. It had to be him, you only ever felt this enthralled and simultaneously confused around him. "Loki?" You asked meekly.
The man laughed as a subtle glimmer washed over his face and sure enough Loki smirked back at you when it faded. "I'm truly impressed how little time it took you to figure it out."
"What are you doing here?" You repeated, your voice squeaking. The realization made you feel more intoxicated than you were seconds before.
"You said it yourself, you weren't enjoying that fellow. I came to help you out." As he spoke you vaguely heard steps coming up to you but it was too hard to discern them from other noises in the club.
"Did you followed me here?" You asked, trying to understand why he would come to a place like this, or if he really was just coming to find you.
"You followed her? What's your problem dude?!" A voice behind you boomed. You instinctively leaned into Loki more at the sound of anger, and felt relieved when he in turn held you tighter. Your date was then beside you, his face reddened in anger. He was glaring up at Loki with a grimace.
"Oh I have tons of problems, the biggest one at the moment is being called 'dude'." Loki retorted with a poisonous tone you weren't surprised he was capable of.
You didn't care for this guy, but still felt compelled to calm the situation before anything escalated. "I'm sorry for running off, that was rude of me. I should have said...something, but honestly, I wasn't feeling a connection with you and when my friend showed up I-"
You were forced to stop mid-sentence as your date grabbed your arm in a sorry attempt to pull you away. "Bullshit! This is a different guy that at the bar! You're just getting cozy with anyone huh? I was told you were desperate, but this is ridiculous."
You were completely taken aback by everything. His uncalled for rage, his accusations - all of it. "E-excuse me?!" You stuttered.
Before you finished speaking Loki had batted the man's hand away again. This time with a force that actually pushed the man back a few feet at the same time. He yelled out as he regained his footing and the disturbance started to attract a crowd. Lena walked up to you all, her face full of concern.
"What's going on?" She asked timidly.
"Your friend's not as easy as you claim, or maybe it's that she's actually too easy." He spat, nodding at Loki.
"I never said anything like that!" She said, and you couldn't tell if it was more to him or to you she was defending herself to. It didn't matter, you were done. Done with the whole night. Done with the bad date, done with whatever game Loki was playing at, done with whatever Lena was saying about you at work, done with being a spectacle for onlookers, just done.
Emotional exhaustion hit you fast and you pushed away from Loki and turned to walk away. You walked away quickly, dodging through the gawking crowd easily enough, they all obviously didn't want to be a part of whatever just transpired. You made it outside having ignored a few calls at you as you did. Taking a deep slow breath you tried to calm yourself. Everything could have been much worse, you realized, but it still didn't make you feel any better. You debated going uptown to Tony's or back home. You really wanted to cuddle with Jonas. Given it was a little after eleven you figured it was best to let him sleep without interruption. You started to walk towards the subway entrance. You weren't keen on taking it alone this late, but you also didn't want to walk all the way home. You make it around the corner from the club when you felt a tug on your hand. Your defenses flair up and you pull your hand back, whipping around to see who was there. Loki was standing there close behind you.
"Y/n..." He started tentatively.
Sighing, you turn fully you face him. "You shouldn't have interrupted. Everything was fine until you showed up."
"Was it? You were on a date with a ticking time bomb." He countered.
"It was fine, all I had to do was stand by for a little bit longer, then I would have excused myself and it would have been easy."
"Not at all! He tried to follow you out of that club, if your friend didn't get in his face he would have confronted you out here, outside of the safety of other people around." As he spoke your shoulders slumped.
You struggled to find something to say. "That's...it's..." You were too tired to think anymore. "Was he really that bad of a guy?"
"I'm afraid I'm not the best judge of that." Loki spoke solemnly.
"This was all a mistake. I knew I wasn't meant for this sort of thing. I should just go home." You said as a shiver ran down your spine. You left your jacket in the club. You looked back at the entrance and determined it wasn't worth it to get back. "I better hurry up, it's too cold to stay around here. I guess I'll see you later." Loki was heartbroken over how melancholy you sounded. You took a few steps, then surprised him by turning back around. "Um..actually, could I maybe go with you?"
Loki starred at you wide eyed for a moment, trying to decipher your meaning.
"I haven't spent the night alone anywhere in years. I just don't know if I'd be able to sleep with out Jonas being home...plus the tower's closer." You said and he smiled gently at you.
Loki offered you his arm like before and you took it. After a few steps, you nestled into him, looking for warmth. He guided you down the few streets until the large tower loomed over you both. When the warmth of the lobby was so comforting. Once in the elevator you looked over to Loki. "Hey, I am glad you showed up...but I don't still don't know why you did."
He looked back at you, "I already told you." His eyes caught yours.
"You couldn't have known my date would be that bad."
Loki nodded as if to say he surely did know your date was doomed. "I was sure he wouldn't be a good match for you regardless of who he was."
"Is it that obvious I shouldn't be dating?" You said lacking any self confidence.
"The fault isn't your own. They're all the ones not worthy." He reassured you with a conviction that seemed to radiate from his eyes into yours. It made you blush on the spot.
"Shush, I'm not that special. I have a son and a job that requires me to work about sixty to seventy hours a week. That leaves no free time and very little access energy. I'm not one to wear makeup and I almost always have some sort of stain on my shirt thanks to the kids. Not exactly what most people are looking for." You tried to argue you weren't that great of a catch, and you didn't even know why. However, after tonight you surely felt like you weren't that great.
A chime rang out in the elevator as it came to a halt, Loki looked at the floor that was selected and frowned at you. "Why did you pick that floor?"
You shrugged, "There's a twin bed for Jonas in the nursery, plenty of room for me. I figured-"
"Nonsense, what is the point of coming home with me, only to sleep all by yourself on a floor that I assume is bigger than your entire apartment?" His voice was smooth with that velvet tone again that you always were drawn to.
"So where?" You asked, feigning innocence.
"You're kidding. You know exactly where." He smirked, looking you up and down. The air the little elevator suddenly much thicker as he leaned over slightly to press the button for the next floor up.
"And that's ok with you?" You confirmed in a squeaky voice, just to make sure. You were the one who suggested this, but you felt all the same flush of nerves you got the last time he invited you to his room.
"Obviously." Loki's little chuckled at his remark sent a thrill through you. Why was it always like this.? He was so cool and collected as to make you never feel confident in knowing what he was thinking one moment and than the next he was oozing this aura that was nothing short of a siren's call pulling you into his gaze. Not so surprisingly seductive gaze.
You made it to his room again, it looked exactly like it did before. The only noticeable difference was your book sitting on his bed. This warmed your heart in a million ways. The full scope of what he was wearing hit you. The long suit jacket was certainly a modern take on the robes you looked at countless time. "Did you really dress up for me? Like in my book?" You gingerly sat on the edge of the bed, not entirely sure what to do with yourself as you waited for his response.
He walked to a dresser, pulling out a couple items before pausing and then turning to face you. "Everything I said tonight was true. You dressed like a goddess so I thought only best to dress as a god."
"I thought you were already a god? Doesn't that make anything you wear - dressing like a god?" As you spoke he held out a shirt in front of him, this one didn't look as nice as the one you borrowed before, but you were sure it was still immensely nicer than your typical sleepwear.
"Technicality. More fun to dress to impress." He mused walking back over to you, offering you a simple white t-shirt.
"I could argue you dress to impress all the time."  You smiled, taking the shirt from him.
Loki sat on the edge of the bed next to you, "Does it work? Do I impress you?"
When you turn to look at him, you're struck by how close he really is. You couldn't help but lean in a little more as he quirked an eyebrow at you. What was with this guy? You were genuinely a little annoyed with him less than an hour ago, and now you were opening flirting with him. You had a hard time believing he dressed up, gorgeously by the way, all to impress you because he thought the same about you. Maybe it was the fact you were a bit lonely, maybe it was the allure of someone truly other-worldly, maybe it was how despite your responsibilities and schedule you spent hours and hours simply talking to this man about everything you could think of and enjoyed every minute of it, or maybe it was just how pretty his eyes were this close.  No matter the reason, you definitely wanted to kiss him right now, and by the smirk on his face he knew it.
"You do."
"Good."
You couldn't say for sure if Loki moved incredibly slow or if time itself slowed down, but it seemed like you stared into his eyes for centuries. Then time hit you all at once, knocking the wind out of your lungs. Or maybe that was Loki's lips on your own, either way, you were utterly breathless and all other thoughts left you mind.

I Might Be Crazy But
So I was talking to my best friend @starbucksforabreak on the phone this morning, and like all friends do, we were discussing Tony and just talking about a lot of meta concerning him. We, of course, came across the topic of Howard Stark and our hatred for him, and @starbucksforabreak said something that was absolutely mind-blowing to me and I just wanted to share it with yall.
It’s obviously no fucking secret that Howard was an asshole and a generally shitty parent to Tony. “He was cold, he was calculating. He never told me he loved me, he never even told me he liked me. [...] You’re talking about a guy whose happiest day was when he shipped me off to boarding school.” (Iron Man 2) I could cite the comics and so on, but you get the point. We all know Howard was a shitty father who fucked Tony up in endless ways.
So it’s always fucking irked me the redemption arc he got in Iron Man 2. Suddenly this man who we’d been conditioned to dislike throughout the rest of the MCU in every instance he’s been brought up is now given a 180 in his character and shown as this caring father who just didn’t know how to express his love for his son. And that’s always pissed me off. First of all, it’s just out of place and doesn’t fit Tony’s entire character arc. When Howard is brought up later in the MCU -such as in Captain America: Civil War- we revert right back to the demonizing of his character. Which is understandable considering who he is as a whole both in the MCU and in the comics, but that once scene felt so out of place. I never understood it, I always detested and ignored it, just because I didn’t get it.
But then my lovely, lovely friend pointed something out that was just strange to her from a cultural perspective, but fucking blew my mind when she brought up. And I haven’t seen it brought up anywhere else in any other Tony or Howard meta, so here we go.
Something that Star pointed out was Howard’s exact language when he was praising Tony in his little speech. Specifically, the line “[...] my greatest creation, is you.” (Iron Man 2) Notice the wording here. Creation. As in something that is made or invented, according to its’ definition. It’s a weird word to call a human being, even in that context. I get it was supposed to be all symbolic and deep, but the way Star explained it made so much more sense to me.
Simply put, Howard saw Tony as a tool. He saw Tony not as his son, but instead as something he had built, something that would further his Stark legacy. Tony Stark was not Howard’s child, he was his invention. His creation. “[...] you will change the world.” (Iron Man 2) Howard saw Tony’s purpose as only furthering and expanding on his work, rather than working on his own inventions and whatnot. Tony existed merely as yet another part of the great Howard Stark rather than his own person. So many of Howard’s traits, especially the bad, are encapsulated in Tony being stuck in the legacy Howard forced him into as not his son, but his creation.
And honestly, to me, this narrative makes so much more sense. It wouldn’t be the first time that a human being was a literal creation of Howard’s. Howard Stark was one of the key scientists in creating the super soldier serum and Captain America. Not only did Howard help with the serum, but he also designed the face of Captain America, with the suit and the iconic shield. Howard had experience with making people inventions, creations.
The whole fanfiction idea of Howard being obsessed with Steve Rogers even after his death is more deeply rooted in canon than a lot of people realize. “You two knew each other? He never mentioned that, only a thousand times. God, I hated you.” (Captain America: Civil War) Howard constantly brought up Steve to Tony, never letting Tony forget about Howard’s prize creation. Tony could never be Captain America, no matter how hard he tried. He could never be as good as the man Howard wouldn’t let him forget, always bringing up. Just a reminder, that Howard was bringing this up, constantly saying this to a kid. A young, impressionable child who just wanted to impress his father and be as good as a literal superhero.
So not only does it make sense for Howard to view Tony as a creation, but it also makes sense for that brief moment in which Tony seems shocked and even a bit happy by that revelation. Because that meant he was finally on the same pedestal as Captain America in Howard’s eyes. He was a great creation of his father, the same way he would’ve viewed Steve Rogers. So as fucked up as it was, to Tony, that would’ve been all he ever wanted. Maybe he was only a tool to Howard, but at least he was that. It makes sense that that speech would be an inspiring point to Tony, pushing him to look harder and try to be better. Even after all this time, Tony still wants to prove he’s good enough, be enough for Howard to notice him.
TLDR, this is just something that I think adds an interesting spin on that scene from Iron Man 2, and helps put it into a perspective of what was probably really going through Howard’s mind during that ‘heartfelt’ moment.

Three Survey Memes
@e_louise_bates tagged me once directly and twice indirectly (I mean, since I'm already typing something here I might as well do the others too), so here. Please feel free to comment! I like discussions!
Survey One (what I was actually tagged for): Name my top ten favorite characters from ten different fandoms.
I feel like the way this is phrased, I should pick ten fandoms first and then narrow them down to the characters, so that's what I did. It's an easier way to find my favorite characters, anyway.
1. From Harry Potter: Luna Lovegood, obviously
2. From Tolkien: Samwise Gamgee, obviously
3. From the MCU: Peggy Carter, most obviously of all
4. From Star Wars: This is a product of me picking fandoms first, and then discovering I don't have an OBVIOUSLY answer this time. But when you get right down to it, I've always had a special place in my heart for Obi Wan.
5. From Diana Wynne Jones: Sophie Hatter. Stealing one from Louise there, but again, obviously.
6. From L.M. Montgomery: Stealing the fandom from Louise that time, but I on the other hand have to stick with Anne Shirley, because she may top my fave character list, period.
7. From Jane Austen: Rev. Henry Tilney, NOT stealing from Louise because again, OBVIOUSLY, as she well knows, too. :D
8. From Discworld: DEATH. This was hard, because as soon as I started thinking of Discworld, so many MUST INCLUDES came up. Tiffany! DEATH's granddaughter, whose name I totally had a minute ago when I first thought of it but now has suddenly slipped my mind as I'm typing it (my brain now keeps trying to tell me it's "Karen" but that feels utterly wrong Her last name's Sto-Helit. I think. EDIT: SUSAN! Of course. The second I hit "post")! Sam Vimes, one of the other great Sams of fiction! But who's there and perfect and wonderful through all of it? DEATH. So I'm sticking with that.
9. Uh, other Marvel properties that aren't the MCU: I just have to shout out again to the Loudermilk twins from Legion. They count as one person because they sort of are, and because their chemistry together just MAKES them, even though they both individually are pretty fun, too (Cary's dorkiness and Kerry's innocent enthusiasm for beating people up). There was like a block of three or four episodes this season without them and it nearly ruined the whole season for me.
10. No particular fandom I'm aware of but no list of favorite characters is complete without: Blossom Culp. From the books by Richard Peck.
SURVEY TWO, a writing one:
1. When did you start writing and how? In first grade I had this dream about a disgruntled Santa's elf taking our church hostage on Christmas Eve. It was a great dream, so I decided to turn it into a book. Recently I decided to revisit it-- the basic plot, at least-- as a picture book. And for some stupid reason I decided it needed to be in verse. It might work some day.
Early on all my story ideas came from dreams, actually. Still today, my subconscious does most of my story-creating. Last night I had one about this huge family that lived in a mansion with a public pool in it and had all sorts of hijinks. They were great. They lived on Chalk Street and the oldest girl's boyfriend was named Granger the Ranger. Anyhoo.
2. What is your favorite line from your own work? It's got to be "Concentration leads to Meditation leads to Levitation leads to Aviation," because that's just a way of life.
I'm also partial to anything at all that Billy Boyd says in the Pipeweed Mafia Stories.
3. Who is your writing idol, and how have they influenced you? Hmm, I wouldn't call Madeleine L'Engle my writing idol, but she has influenced me the most, with her way of seeing the cosmic in the very small and the individual in the cosmic. And I named my daughter after her. But my Patron Saint of Writing whom I occasionally call on for intervention is Diana Wynne Jones. I don't know why. She just seems to be who I need to get my writing juices flowing.
4. Which oc has the best family (found or otherwise)? Of my characters? Hmm, I've never really focused much on family in my works. Even found family. I guess Billy 'Arrison's uncle IS George Harrison, so probably that.
5. Which oc has the most satisfying ending to their story? Ah, I'm terrible at endings. None of my characters has an ending to their story, not just because most of my works have never been finished, but because I keep thinking of things that happen to them later. NO ENDINGS.
6. If you’ve gotten feedback on your writing, who is your readers’ favorite character? If not who do you think readers will fall in love with? Well, no questions there. Billy 'Arrison. I mean look how often he's come up already in this survey. If you ask anybody whose ever read my work to name ANY of my original characters, they will go with Billy. Heck, people who HAVEN'T actually read his story would pick Billy.
7. Which tropes (eg. Friends to lovers, fake death, white haired pretty boy) do you always find yourself wanting to write? All my stories tend to have the theme of disparate people becoming friends through having an adventure together. I recently wondered if that's because I've always thought friendship would be easier if you could cut out all the small talk, and having an adventure leaves no time for small talk.
8. What goes through your head when writing a scene? The... scene? Also, random entirely unrelated stuff. Because I have ADHD. My brain is impossible to follow anywhere.
9. How specific is your idea of your characters’ appearance usually? Do you draw them? (If so can we see it?) Facial features are usually fairly foggy to me. I get general shape and color, so, like, what their hair looks like, their size, their race. I get their sense of style, too-- often I give them a signature item of clothing whether in my mind or in the text. I've drawn a few of my characters, yes, but I'm not particularly good at drawing consistently.
10. What are you proudest of as a writer? That I can occasionally look back at things I have written and be delighted by them as a reader. Unfortunately most of these things I have written continue to not be finished.
SURVEY THREE, also about writing:
1. How many works in progress do you currently have? That depends on your definition of "in progress." If you mean ACTUALLY IN PROGRESS, zero. Zip. Unless you count a couple of GeekMom articles I have in the planning stage. Or unless you count not-writing. I have a living room renovation in progress at the moment.
How many works do I have in an incomplete status that I plan to get back to eventually? Hmmm. At least five.
2. Do you/would you write fanfiction? I'm not INTO fanfiction but I do/have written a few pieces when they occur to me. There's of course the Pipeweed Mafia, which is a mix of Inklings fanfic and real people fanfic. You could count me writing George Harrison into Billy's background real people fic. One of my works in possible occasional progress is a Firefly fic about how Zoe fell in love with Wash. Oh, I should have put Firefly on my list of fandoms above, just so I could name Kaylee. KAYLEE, people. But I haven't written fic about her. Anyway. I also once wrote a very short prompt response X-Files fic that always delights me. It's silly, and yet in character.
3) Do you prefer paper books or ebooks? Paper.
4) When did you start writing? First grade.
5) Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with? A few people. It depends on the type of work, who would be the best fit for it. Louise is in fact one.
6) Where is your favorite place to write? Someplace where I don't have real life demands calling on me. Oddly enough, I think I got some of my best writing done while working at the Children's Museum, during downtime. On slow days I'd write a scene on the back of my schedule. A page a day really adds up! Of course, on busy days that was unthinkable!
7) Favorite childhood book? Have I mentioned A Wrinkle In Time?
8) Writing for fun or publication? Depends on where I am in life. Now, it is for fun, unless it is an article.
9) Pen and paper or computer? First drafts pen and paper. Then putting it together on the computer.
10) Have you ever taken any writing classes? Yeah, I had some writing courses in college, and I also took correspondence courses twice.
11) What inspires you to write? Ideas. As I mentioned, I get a lot of ideas from dreams. But there's also, like, a swelling of words in my brain that needs to come out through my hands every so often. I called it "writeritis" as a kid, and I guess I still do.
TAGGING: Whoever. You know who you are, if any of this resonates with you!
