See this? This is what a dodged bullet looks like
Reply: Metroid can’t stop catching Ws, it’s almost unfair
(Sakamoto may have made his gross mistakes with the series, but at least, he understood. I can already imagine what Shankar would do out of Metroid, and yeah no)

I usually answer this in private, but (I think) I have a fun one for this. Okay, an obscure one and a fun one.
Was tagged by @suchine-toki to post a character that looks similar to me. There are not a lot of characters with an obvious natural perm so... my obscure answer is Tohno Naruhiko from Yoshi No Zuikara.
Tumblr media
(They lied)
Natural perm, checked; glasses, checked; crushing self-doubt checked.
For the (probably) fun/mixed answer:
Tumblr media
(Of course)
Gintoki (natural perm, dead fish eyes and I love strawberries) + Tatsuma Sakamoto (brown natural perm, glasses and I got motion sickness) + Ed (I'm short and I hate milk)

tell us about the diy top surgery
SO OKADA IZO'S DUMBASS TOP SURGERY.
i will be copy-pasting and editing/amending an old thing from twitter-- there's a practice of posting "solos", ficlets for characterization in essence
CWs for: brief mention of disordered eating, severe and graphic transmasculine top dysphoria, gore, self-harm related to gender dysphoria!
Yoshi-chan. Yoshi-chan. Yoshi-chan.
How much more would Yoshifuru hear that name? He hated it. He hated being called 'beautiful'. He hated being called 'cute'. He hated being chastised by the neighbors for how he acted.
𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘬𝘰, not 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦. The other boys got it. In fact, the other boys were happy to have another boy to play with. Their parents didn't think the same. They weren't happy. Some of them acted happy, and said that kids played silly games.
That might have flown back when Yoshifuru was young enough to not understand. But he knows what those crinkling faces mean now.
All he felt now was boiling rage above his disgust, burning white-hot. Boiling, boiling over, pushing away his stomach as he tried to shed that particular fat from his body-- But it remained. It laughed at him in his dreams. He knew it well. Those budding nipples peeled back-- There were mouths underneath, the areolae their lips as they grinned.
Grinning. Laughing. Mocking. "Yoshi-chan, Yoshi-chan," they sang, each note dripping with venom to infect his brain. It burned. It boiled. It was boiling over and scorching him from the inside out.
His mother was sleeping. His father was working. There was no better time to fix his problem before it worsened, right?
He gathered all he needed: A rag, with his father's cheap booze to soak it in. A carving knife, sharpened tirelessly since before sunup. A location: the river, to wash away the inevitable detritus of his deed.
Looking back, Izo cringes. He prides himself on solving his own problems, but the execution was sloppy; in fact, even he thinks it was inconceivably dangerous.
But Yoshifuru stood in the river, rag soaked in gutter wine between his teeth, as he brought the knife under one breast. Booze flowed into his mouth, all at once, as his teeth grit. Blood trickled into the water, running downstream steadily. Blood soon turned to disgusting clumps. More booze overwhelmed his senses as he bit back screams of agony.
Looking back, Izo cringes as Yoshifuru goes on.
Eventually, the skin fell back in a pathetic flap. But this was an improvement! All he'd need was to see someone to stitch him up, and he'd never have those dreams again. Once he'd finished with the other side, of course. The rag was refreshed as the fish ate at adipose tissue.
By the time the deed was done, his skin hung loosely off his chest. He stumbled, cold and bleeding in the river, drunk off his little ass. It was a wonder he wandered back to dry land, half-naked, losing blood at such a rate. He'd barely made it back to his village. He walked past his own house-- He knew better than to think he'd find love in the arms of his mother, or care from the voice of his father. If he went home now, he'd surely die.
He went right to the Sakamoto household, fist weakly tapping the door before he fell on his back.
He didn't remember much from that point. All he recalled was waking beside a warm, welcoming fire from an irori hearth. All he recalled was a hand raising to his chest, finding it slightly sunken, stitched--
And tender. He winced. He winces.
He recalled a voice. "You sure did get lucky, Yoshifuru." Ryoma's mother. A force to be reckoned with, but the kindest heart in all of Tosa. His head turned towards her.
"You coulda bled out, baby," she went on as she prepped the pot in the hearth. "You won't even get breasts." His eyes widened.
"W... What'd ya say? Ryoma-no-okaa-san?" "Sachi-no-kaasan, dearie. But yer not gonna develop any chest after that stunt you pulled. If that fills out at all, you better count yerself lucky! You'll have a chest like a man for the rest of your life."
Like a man. Yoshifuru smiled. He smiled, and then he laughed. Izo laughs, thinking about it as his finger traces the scarred flesh left behind from Sakamoto Sachi's work.
"Good," Yoshifuru states in that weak voice. "That means my work weren't fer nothin'."
Sachi stopped tending to her pot for a moment, looking over to the exhausted but overjoyed child beside the hearth. "You... You mean t'tell me you meant t'do this, child?" "Yeah." "You'll... You wanna be seen as a man?" "Yeah." "What 'bout yer pa--" "Fuck 'em." "Yoshifuru!!"
This back-and-forth dominated the time the pot took to boil-- How it nearly boiled over and ruined the fire beneath. Sachi sighed as she looked over the child--
The boy, on her floor, stitched and weakened from blood loss.
"Then whadda we say happened?" "Huh?" "Everybody else's folks, Yoshifuru," Ryoma's mother spoke just above a whisper as she stirred the hot pot. "They won't be nice. Whadda we tell 'em?"
Silence and time benefitted the stew, but not the dilemma presented here. Yoshifuru's mind twisted around the question. He knew some people wouldn't be nice. Not everyone was his friend. Not everyone was Ryoma-no-okaa-san. But how could he explain this easiest?
"... My folks lied," he mumbled, catching Sachi's attention. "Did they?" She leaned forward, brow arched. She wasn't suspicious, though-- She was expecting the rest of his explanation. He gulped. Not even Izo enjoyed the thought of being put on the spot so.
"My folks didn't wanna let another Okada see war," he continued, "so they said I was a daughter. They lied t'everybody. You found out." "So I did, Yoshi-kun."
Yoshifuru's heart suddenly fluttered, though he coughed soon after. Those wide eyes explained it all; that sudden realization dawning on him, the sun rising after an eleven-year night. He understood. Sachi understood. He looked back to the ceiling.
"Yeah. Thanks."
Thinking back, Izo sighs. His fingers trace one scar, then another. His chest did fill back in somewhat, but just enough for the surface to be even. From that day, his chest no longer laughed at him. His body was to his own design. It always would be, no matter what.
Izo takes a drag of his kiseru at last, exhaling a thick plume of smoke to linger near the ceiling.
"Sachi-no-kaasan's hot pot? Best I ever had."

Setsuko Hara and Shuji Sano in Here's to the Young Lady (Keisuke Kinoshita, 1949) Cast: Shuji Sano, Setsuko Hara, Takeshi Sakamoto, Keiji Sada, Chieko Higashiyama, Masami Morikawa, Junji Masuda, Yasushi Nagata, Fusako Fujima, Sugisaku Aoyama, Sachiko Murase. Screenplay: Keisuke Kinoshita. Cinematography: Hiroshi Kusuda. Art direction: Motoji Kojima. Film editing: Yoshi Sugihara, Shizuko Osawa. Music: Chuji Kinoshita. Stop me if you've seen this one: A middle-aged working-class single man meets a pretty young woman from the upper classes and.... Okay, right. It's a romantic cliché, one that's so irresistible that Samuel Goldwyn once ordered a screenplay to be written on the basis of a title alone, The Cowboy and the Lady (H.C. Potter, 1938), and it's the inspiration for the teaming of Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. But what sets Keisuke Kinoshita's Here's to the Young Lady apart is its country and time of origin: postwar Japan. In part the film is a manifestation of the occupying forces' desire to bring about a more egalitarian Japan, one in which a system of caste and class would be broken down, but it's also a reflection of economic reality in a recovering country whose male population had been decimated by the war. So Keizo Ishizu (Shuji Sano), a 34-year-old man who owns a thriving auto repair business and has dreams of getting into manufacturing, is introduced by his friend Sato (Takeshi Sakamoto) to Yasuko Ikeda (Setsuko Hara), from a cultured and educated family, as a potential wife. Ishizu is smitten instantly by the lovely but very shy young woman, but he also has doubts that she would ever be interested in him -- and he is sort of a schlub, whose chief recreation is drinking at his favorite bar. But then Ishizu visits Yasuko at her home and meets her family, learning that they are on the brink of financial disaster. Kinoshita starts with mostly long shots of the living room of the Ikeda home, but then switches to some shots from Ishizu's point of view that reveal the threadbare upholstery and well-worn furnishings. It turns out that Yasuko's father is in prison because after the war he was tricked into joining a company that was on the shady side. When its fraudulent practices were exposed, he honorably took the blame, even though it's suggested that he was ignorant of them. Moreover, a loan is about to come due, one that was taken out to help the family -- which includes Yasuko's mother, grandparents, sister and brother-in-law -- to survive. Ishizu has every reason to flee from this entanglement, but he's so taken with Yasuko that he agrees to court her for a while to see if their marriage would work out. She suggests that they go to the ballet, where he winds up in tears -- partly because he realizes that he can never be a match for her in culture. He takes her to a boxing match, where she winces at the violence but nevertheless winds up cheering for one of the fighters. And so on as obstacles to their marriage rise. We know how it will end, but Kinoshita makes that ending almost plausible, especially with the help of a talented cast that features the always magnificent Setsuko Hara. One blot on the film is the overbearing and sometimes inappropriate use of Chuji Kinoshita's repetitive score, augmented by the overuse of Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu in C# minor, the one spoiled for many of us by its use as the melody for the popular song "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows."

Mini Fanfic #881: Not a Wise Choice (Super Smash Bros Ultimate x Kingdom Hearts)
12:34 p.m. at the Smash Mansion's Living Room........
TV Show: (Shows the Remake Version of Yoshi's Tropical Island on the Screen)
Sora: (Stares at the Screen in Awe Along With Kairi and Ryuji) Wooooah.......
Kairi: It looks even more prettier than the original......
Ryuji: I know, right? I would totally be down to go there for a few days.
Ren: Same....(Turns to Yoshi) Hey, how are those two Yoshi's been doing now that they're together again?
Yoshi: (Smiles Softly) They're doing great. One of them founded two baby eggs on the shores sometime ago. So they're already raising them as their own.
Sora/Kairi: AWWWWWWWWW!~ Yoshi family!~
Riku: Hmm.......
Ryuji: (Turns to Riku) Somethin' on your mind, man?
Riku: Somewhat.....I was wondering why Bowser isn't playable in this game.
Kairi: Yeah. I've been wondering about that too lately. Didn't Ms. Peach and the others finally invited him to the last party? What makes him wanna back to doing Bowser Spaces?
Yoshi: Well..........
Flashback
Peach: (Standing in Behind the Microphone Stand While Finishing Up the Uplifting Speech) .....So from the bottom of my heart and purist soul, let us all do our very best and have the BEST PARTY EVER!!~
Crowd: (Raise Their Glasses While Cheering in Rejoice) YEAHHHHAHAHHH!
Bowser: (Walks Up to Peach in a Bit of a Nervous Like Fashion) Hey....Peach.....
Peach: ('Gasps') Bowser! (Happily Hugs the King Koopa) You made it!~ Are you ready to get your party on? Or as the kids would put it....(Playfully Bumps Bowser's Shoulder) Getting Jiggy with it?~
Bowser: (Starts Looking Away While Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth) Yeahhhhh...... About that..... I won't be partying with you guys this time soon. I'm gonna go back to causing havoc and mayhem around it like I always do.
And with that, plus the sound of glass breaking and the record being scratch, everyone immediately stops at what they were doing before gasping loudly and turning their heads to the infamous Koopa King himself.
Daisy: (In the Crowd) WHAT THE FUCK!?
Peach: (Almost at a Loss For Words) Y-You're....c-causing havoc.....a-again!?
Bowser: Yep. I done some thinking here and there and turns out I actually like messing with you guys a lot more than being invited to the party for once. Oh and also, I already told the guys to set up a bunch of Bowser's Spaces on each of the worlds. So uh......(Smiles Very Awkwardly While Doing Jazz Hands) Surprise!........
Mario: (Couldn't Believe What He's Hearing Right Now) Is this motherfucker serious right now?
Yoshi: (Immediately Spits his Drink Out)
Luigi/Daisy: (Quickly Turns to Their Son in Worry) Yoshi!?
Ryuji: Woahwoahwoahwoah! Hang on a second!
Abruptly Back to the Present
Ryuji: (Eyes Widened in Complete Shock) Mario CURSE!?
Sora: And it's a literal F-Bomb!?
Yoshi: Yeah, man! I was standing RIGHT NEXT to him when it all happened. It was crazy! But that's beside the point. After all shock and revelation.......
Back to Flashback
Peach: (Trying her Hardest Not Let Her Lose her Posture and Cool) Let me get this straight...and please..... PLEASE try and correct when I wrong, but....You are tell me, no....To EVERY SINGLE OF OF US HERE is that you spent YEARS tormenting us....for your inviting to each of ours parties....And when we FINALLY invite you to one....after all the begging.....all the ultimatums.....all the agreement we set out for each sides.....You decided....to come right up here and tell each and everyone of us here that you're going back to square one....ALL BECAUSE YOU MISS GIVING US MISERY!!!?
Bowser: ...........Yep. Pretty much.
The anger begins to fume even higher for the princess before she decided to take a huge deep breath in the very last second.
Peach: Okay. Fine. You win. You can go back to causing havoc like you always do.
Bowser: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Shock) Oh crap. Really?
Mario: (Immediately Rushes Over to Peach's Side) Peach, are you absolutely sure about all of this?
Peach: I'm sure of it, dear. I don't know WHY he decided to do this after everything we've been through to agree to invite him!....('Sigh') But I digress. If this is what he wants to do, then we should let him be.
Bowser: Ah sweet. Thanks, Pea-
Peach: HOWEVER!
Bowser: (Immediately Starts Cowering in Fear) Y-Y-Yeah?
Peach: (Glares at Bowser Harshly) Do not think for a goddamn SECOND that you're not getting out of this unscathed. Starting the First Day of the Next Month, you will do every single chore we set out for you to do throughout the entire mansion. Cleaning rooms, doing the laundry, cooking-......On second thought, nevermind the cooking part.
Bowser: Oh come on! I can cook just fine, ya know!?
Peach: Oh yeah? Then tell me. What dish you made that doesn't cause anyone to get food poisoning?
Bowser: I-
Peach: OR cause anyone to file a lawsuit against you?
Bowser: (Was About to Say Something Only to Sigh in Defeat a Brief Second Later) Okay. I see your point.
Peach: As what I was saying, you will be doing all of that and more for the entire month. Maybe even two or three if you decide to slack off, which by the way, I'll be sure to have Paulie and Bayonetta supervise you along the way.
Bowser: (Eyes Widened in Fear) Oh no....Not them.....A-Anybody but them!....
Peach: Yes. Them. And I'm sure that they'll do everything in their power to keep you in check.
Bowser: (Almost at a Loss of Words) Fuck......I don't think I'll last a day with them breathing on my neck.....(Quickly Turns to Junior, Roy, and Ludwig in a Very Panic Fashion) Kids, help me your old man out here! Please!
Roy: (Too Busy Reading a Magazine) Sorry, pops. You're on your own on this one.
Bowser Jr: (Too Busy Playing his Handheld Video Game) We warned you not to get on Momma Peach's bad side.....
Ludwig: (Too Busy Reading his Book). And now you have no other choice but to accept the consequences of your reckless actions. Pity.
Bowser: I'm screwed.....
Peach: Bowser! Turn back around right now!
Bowser: (Quickly Turns Back to Peach) Yes, ma'am! Sorry, ma'am! Won't happen again, ma'am!....
Peach: Good. Now, one more thing before we're finish.....
Bowser: W-W-What is it?.....
Peach: This party is suppose to be a fun and special occasion for us to remember for years to come. (Gives Bowser a Serious, Dark Look on her Face) If you even THINK about stepping out of line throughout all of it, I will NOT hesitate to pummel you to a pulp and send your sorry ass to the goddamn moon! Do you understand me!?
Bowser: (Rapidly Nodded)
Peach: Good. Now get out of my sight before you make me more angrier.
And with that, Bowser begins to runaway as fast as his life depends on it.
Peach: ('Sighs Heavily') Now with that out of my system.....(Went Back to Smiling Brightly) Let's get this party started, shall we?~
Crowd: (Starts Cheering Again in Rejoice) YEEAAAHHHHHHH!!!!
Daisy: (In the Crowd) THAT OUR PEACHY!
Random Guy: (in the Crowd) MARIO PARTY FOR LIFEEE!
Back to the Present.....Again
Yoshi: And that's everything that happened.
Sora: Wow....That....was pretty intense actually.
Kairi: I know......I never expected Ms. Peach of all people, be so brutal.....
Ren; Yeah. Momma Peach is a very sweet lady and all, but when you tick her and the other moms off, be expected for a world of pain and agony.
Ryuji: We saw them scared Kazuya straight once.....Pretty insane if you ask me.
Riku: ('Sigh') Well, I'm glad they were able to solve the situation before it got more-(Eyes Suddenly Begins to Widened at What is In Front of Him and the Others) Out of..... hand......
Bowser: (Has an Annoyed Look in his Face While Wearing a Maid Costume) Yo.
Ren: (Almost at a Loss For Words) Uhh....Heyyyyy, Bowser.....Wanna tell us why you're wearing....uhhh-
Bowser: Maid outfit? Your mom insisted I wear something presentable. So......('Sigh') They got me wearing this for the rest of the month.
Ren: Yeeesh......
Ryuji: Dude, why did you have to go back to being a dick in Mario Party? You finally got invited in the last one. And you could've been invited to more of them for years to come. But you just.....blew all of that away.
Bowser: Look, I'm sorry, alright!? Things change sometimes! And so is my enjoyment of things. You understand the feeling, right?
Yoshi/Sora/Kairi: Yeahhh......
Ren: I guess.......
Riku: It was still a bad move on your part....
Bowser: ('Sighs Heavily') Yeah......I know.....And I'm suffering for it......
