The prophecy is not supposed to come true
If you think about it long enough, it makes sense. Every prophecy up until now has lead to tragedy or even anything that is related to gods meant often pain for a lot of people involved.
Gods mean misfortune in that story
Kouka had not needed a higher being for it to be founded.
King Hiryuu did actually not achieve the peace he wished for.
Hundreds of dragon warriors died after a miserable short life.
Zeno´s pain of having to life for 2000 years - I cannot even imagine it, honestly.
Half the descendants also died miserably after a short time. They had literally nothing from their relation to Hiryuu except for a short life and a painful death.
Human beings are something like ants for the dragon gods...they can be used if necessary, but are not worth much more.
The whole situation with Yu hon, King Il , Kashi and Yon hi would have not happened, if not for the gods and especially King Hiryuu.
Prophecies are not exactly good news in Kouka...
Of course there are also other factors involved, like King Il´s jealousy and the worth that military prowness had in Kouka due to the times. Yu hon´s way of solving issues was often by murder and his temper wasn´t the best.
But if Yon hi had not been a descendant of King Hiryuu, the situation between Yu hon and King Il had not escalated to that extent. Yu hon wanted to protect his wife and killed the priests.
Kashi must have harbored a great hate against Yu hon.
Kashi´s prophecies involved: Yona being the reincarnation of King Hiryuu and King Il of all people became king instead of his brother...a bad choice as King Il was not capable.
I guess another prophecy involved Kashi being killed by Yu hon.
Kashi´s other prophecy involved: Soo Won would kill King Il.
-> King Il did really everything in his power to make that prophecy come true.
He killed his brother without ever actually showing a damn proof for that accusation, even though his brother would have helped him to rule...
King Il was a lousy king that did not seem to have tried much. He accepted his death sentence.
He demonized and hated Soo Won without ever properly looking at that child. King Il hated this boy from day 1. Even though Soo Won actually did like his uncle and is not a heartless person. If he had talked to Soo Won, maybe some things might have been able to be resolved.
Let´s come to the prophecy...Yona´s prophecy
Yona will be alone queen of Kouka without Hak and the dragons and Soo Won is also not to be seen. I mean, honestly, does it look like that is something Yona wants? She was pretty shocked and did not want it to be true...and I guess that will actually be the case. The dragon gods want Yona/Hiryuu for themselves and actually don´t care, what Yona wishes.
I was actually happy about it, as it means that Soo Won will most likely not die...
-> It was the first time Yona actually showed sympathy for Soo Won and recognized that he is an orphan like her...
-> In a way Yona said to Hiyuri in the last chapter that both sides hurt horribly and many people involved died...and that is gruesome and she does not want to continue this, but end it.

One thing I don't get about the atla fandom is why so many people are so desperate to somehow prove Zuko was a good person from the begining of the show. Or that he was somehow innately better and kinder than any other fire national.
Tumblr media
I've seen this point tossed around a lot and I can kinda see where its coming from but like.... guys. Yon Rha did that too. You know the guy who traumatised Katara for life and took her mother? He did it almost word for word.
He went on in there looking for a singular genocide survivor, found that survivor. The survivor gave themselves up after he promised to leave the village alone.
The only difference is that instead of killing Aang on the spot, Zuko took that 12 year old hostage with the goal of handing him over to the Fire Lord to be kept in conditions described as "You'll be kept alive. Barely" by Zhao.
Zuko's paralels to Yon Rha and his poor morals in the begining are crucial to his arc and to his and Katara's relationship.

Hell, you could even point out how similarly shaped the scarlet detailing on the Southern Raiders' helmets and Zuko's scar are.

Kiane's Kids and Lancelot
It's definitely way too early for me to post this but I can't be stopped and I won't stop.
So, with this I'll show you all how I think Lancelot views his cousins. Lancelot is character the values his family a lot so I think he might be a bit biased when it comes to them.
Tumblr media
Let's start with our girl Tioreh. Tioreh definitely thinks Lancelot is so cool and she cheers him on any chance she gets, she ultimately became his hype woman and Lancelot enjoys it, he may not admit it but he does. Also, with Tioreh's nickname streak (we're at 2) she also has a very special little nickname for Lancelot. I also feel like Lancelot is protective of her and he wants her to always be smiling.
Tumblr media
Then we have these two beauties. I mentioned it before that I have a feeling that they might be twins and even if they're not they may just be close with age. The one with the pigtails I feel like she's the most assertive one while the one with the bun is the more calm and composed one, they balances each other out pretty nicely. Based on their demeanor, they're the older siblings, they do give big sister energy and I feel like Lancelot sees them that way too. I think Lancelot feels at ease and comfortable whenever they're around because he knows and trust them that things won't get out of hand and any stupid shenanigans won't slide.
Tumblr media
I dunno why, maybe it's just me but I think this little guy vibe with Lancelot the most. The both of them just exudes this I don't wanna be bothered energy which I love. Plus, it's really cute how his hoodie is the same design as Lancelot's just with the added sleeves and pockets.
Tumblr media
The we have this cute little gremlin right here. She's definitely the youngest maturity wise and I think Lancelot would tolerate her little shenanigans and finds it endearing at times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we have this guy. I do think he too would vibe with Lancelot quite well, he's a lot more playful and would laugh at a few highjicks while Lancelot grumbles. He's the type that would pat Lancelot at the back and eases him into loosening it up a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we have Mertyl. I said it once and I'll say it again. Lancelot does not like him.
Bonus:
Nasiens
With all the theories swirling around, if it ended up being true. Oh boy! What kind of face would Lancelot make? How would he feel? That this guy that he traveled with and became great friends with ended up being his long lost cousin. I think I'll cry

Su-Won likely has trust issues towards his mother, right?
I have speculated before that Hak's words about Su-Won not caring about anyone particularly wasn't an absolute lie. Like we do know it's not fully true, he's definitely biased, but also, if you recall, Yu-Hon did tell him to throw away even people dear to him like chess pieces, to throw away those biases.
Yu-Hon wasn't able to do that fully himself, he loved his brother and allowed him to rule, and yet it led to his death by Il....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A useless pipe dream to cling...
Not to mention, Yon-Hi also led to Yu-Hon's death in a way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I definitely wonder if Su-Won thought Yon-hi had betrayed him after reading the memoir... in a way, it's true. She definitely did by entrusting the memoir to Il, not her son. By kind of seeing him as a monster, saying she didn't know him, not trusting him basically, endangering him too...
And after reading about her secret's illness, how it made Il and Yu-Hon fight, I wonder if Su-Won probably wondered if his mother and father shouldn't have married to begin with.
That Yu-Hon was too influenced by feelings of love... to really realize that his mother was a woman that Yu-Hon should have not trusted.
Tumblr media
Because after all, Yon-Hi confiding in Il kind of implies that Yu-Hon was not as important to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yu-Hon threw out all reason and judgement for love, even said that he is okay with her being a spy for the enemy... and hey, maybe that was foreshadowing that she would be, and Su-Won would see her as such.
Yon-Hi was also the reason Yu-Hon never became king.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it would be awful honestly, if Su-Won doesn't trust even his own mother... but well, it completely makes sense then if Su-Won has trust issues, even towards Yon-Hi... and maybe towards Yona and Hak as well.
I don't get the sense that relatives mean much to him... maybe other than Yu-Hon, but Su-Won also tries to stay level-headed when it comes to him. Maybe cause he didn't want to make the same "mistake" that Yu-Hon did.

Yon, The Unknowable (who longs to be known).
A Kalashtar Rogue who has lived most of his life in semi-voluntary isolation. Due to the strange nature of his origins and the misfortune that follows him and those who get too close, his community has titled him “The Unknowable,” and endeavor to steer clear of him. Despite his unfortunate circumstances, he is gentle, kind, and — although he would never admit it — longs to know others as he would like to be known.

I love drawing tristan, i hate drawing backgrounds. In other news, i am so so so happy they kept his long hair post-time skip, i was genuinely fearing he’d get a buzzcut or something. Please keep the scissors away from my boy‼️🙏🙏
