Was reading the apocalypse from the Bible and I had a realization. More specifically, this part is the responsible for this:

" Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, "Come!" I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer."

This made me think that it would be very easy for Nakaba to make Tristan be similar to Escanor, make him have control over all his power, him being arrogant and saying things like "I will always win" and things that would make him closer to the idea of conquest. But he decided not to do that. Though, there's still something very interesting we can take from this, we just need to take the eyes away from Escanor and look at Gawain.

Gawain tends to be very similar to Escanor, because of this many say that she is just an Escanor 2.0, and this could not be more wrong. Yes, they are similar, however this doesn't mean they are the same.

Escanor (during the sun) is extremely arrogant, having a gigantic and practically unshaken ego, here we can ared find a difference - and the one I believe to be the most important - Like Escanor, Gawain is arrogant, but unlike him she does not have an unshakable ego, in fact it is the opposite, her ego is quite fragile. And this is not only because she is spoiled but also because she lacks knowledge of her own identity.

We have someone here who would also fit very well into the role of pestilence/conquest, however, as we know, she is hunger, which also suits her.

Gawain is an insecure person who has been denied the knowledge of her own identity, to hide this she acts arrogant and uses her knowledge of magic to appear like an unbreakable wall, but inside she is a scared and confused child who wants to know who she really is.

Just like Gawain, Tristan uses a mask to hide his true feelings, but unlike Gawai, he is kind, careful and cares about others (not saying that he doesn't really care, but I will talk more about this in a future post). But this is not the only "mask" placed on Tristan, in fact we have a person who precisely plays the role of mask of "someone who is perfect and always overcomes his obstacles", and this paper belongs to Chion.

Think with me, Chion - as we all know - is always talking about Tristan as if he were a being without any flaws, sometimes he even sounds like one of those fanatical religious people.

Obviously, he doesn't do this out of evil, it's just what he strongly believes, however, without him realizing it he is causing a mask to be created and not only that but Tristan must also feel suffocated by the way Chion describes him, because he knows he isn't all that.
