It's good to know how to protect yourself, but I agree that a lot of people take it way too far. I think the best general rule is; Like the first person said, highly populated areas during the day are generally safest for the first few dates. Cafe, movie, restaurant, picnic at the park, whatever suits you. As long as there's cameras and people and it's not the middle of the night. Shoot someone a text about where you are if it makes you more comfortable but it's generally not necessary to be too stressed about it. NEVER go to a bar or a club with a guy/date without telling anyone. Yes, even if you're gay, mlm and wlw dates aren't always safe either. Tell people where you are and when you plan on coming home, don't take your eyes off your drink. Common sense. Never go to a house or secluded location unless you know the person REALLY really well. Shoot someone a text letting them know where you are beforehand. If you get a bad gut feeling to the point where you feel the need to use a million extra security measures, just listen to your feelings, make an excuse, say "sorry i have to go, thanks for your time", and politely leave. Don't try to push through it or make it work if you're getting a bad vibe. Just end the date early, don't bother with a million extra paranoid measures. You're better off just going home if you feel unsafe. If you think someone's following you home, drive around a block a few times to confirm they're actually following you, then drive towards a police station. Usually they'll back off.
You don't need a million self defense devices and gadgets. Learn some basic maneuvers, keep one or two REASONABLE self defense tools at most if necessary. You only really need any of this stuff if you're walking home alone at night a lot. You don't need a million alarms and locks in your house either, they're probably more dangerous than whatever threat you're trying to protect yourself from. Simple latches on your doors and windows will usually do just fine, especially if you're not in a high-crime area (most of the women posting their elaborate security systems online, nay, the only people that can AFFORD elaborate security are white people in a nice little middle class neighborhood with white picket fences. They have nothing to be scared of). You don't need 50 guns, you don't need a husband with you 24/7, most of you don't need 10 alarms or 100 different locks on your door and barricaded windows that'll be real inconvenient when you're in a housefire or a more realistic emergency. Let loose a little. enjoy your life. Go on a cute date without checking your phone 80 times. Live in the moment for a change. It's ok. A while ago I had to walk a mile in the dark after a long shift at work. I share transportation with someone and I live too far away to just walk home, but they had the car, and we worked in the same town so I thought I'd just walk over and ask for the keys instead of waiting around for the next few hours for them to get off their late night shift. The sun went down before I left, it was quiet, dark, and there were lots of run down houses. I passed by a few strangers on the way there. You wanna know what happened? Nothing. Well, my legs were tired and I got a few stickers stuck to my shoes. But other than that, nothing. Did I have the means to defend myself if I had to? Yeah. I keep a couple practical things on me just-in-case. But I've never needed them, and hopefully I never will.
You know the most dangerous thing I encountered on that walk? The lack of fucking sidewalks and crosswalks. Had to strategically dart across some very busy roads and watched a guy slam on his brakes past the white line because he was going to run a red light until he saw me step forward a bit. The danger was not the random guy or two I saw walking around, probably in a similar situation as me, and minding their business. If you want to make your city safer, advocate for better walkability or public transit, lmao.
i'm sorry the self-victimization of some women i see online is crazyyyyy, they're saying shit like "yeah being a woman is so crazy, if you go on a date you have to text his full name and picture to your friend, and also where you're meeting, and share your location throughout the date, and check in hourly" girl the only safety measure you need is meeting in a populated place. that man is NOT going to kidnap you from Popular Cafe on Well-Frequented Street in broad daylight at 2pm. i promise. do you go forest hiking as a first date or what the fuck.

earth 42 miles reaction to reader hanging up the phone on his face mid argument?
— facetime
pairing: e-42!miles (aged up) x fem!reader
contains: arguing, minimal cursing, slightly toxic behavior lol
summary: you love miles, but his overbearing nature is beginning to irritate you. the two of you get into an argument over it on facetime, and you snap at him and hang up the phone. wc: 1,537
a/n: ik the pic might not make sense regarding who hung up on who, but i like it so we finna pretend it does lol. miles/reader are only aged up for plot
“look mami, you not hearin’ me. i’m not tryna control you, i’m just saying maybe it would be best if-“
“that is literally you trying to control me.”
you cut miles off from another one of his mini tangents as you stared at him through the facetime call on your screen, so far beyond the point of caring to hear the same thing he’d told you a million times.
you loved your boyfriend with everything in you. honestly, you did. but in the last few months he’d grown to be so much more controlling than he was in the beginning, a result of his ridiculous need to protect you and it’s got your head spinning on your shoulders. you couldn’t do anything without him looming over you, and you’re fed up. it was suffocating, and you needed him to know that you could handle yourself.
you heard his voice come in again from your phone’s speakers.
“aight fine, if that’s what you wanna think, then that’s cool. but i don’t want you going out that late, chiquita, simple. ain’t no discussion.”
“alright, bro.” you sighed, and he tutted at you.
“i’m not your ‘bro’. don’t do that.”
while you knew your boyfriend only wanted the best for you, you didn’t really understand the extent to all these rules he’d given you. like no going to the corner store at night, having to keep your location on at all times, or having to send a picture of yourself when you’d gotten back into the house— so he could really make sure it was actually you texting him from your phone.
since then, you’d deemed it safe to assume that he most likely had immense trust issues, and that was why he acted so strangely, because any other reason for this kind of behavior seemed ludicrous to you.
miles had yet to tell you he was the prowler, that certain people had bounties on his head, which included anyone who may be involved with him, anyone he holds close to him. he saw everything that went on in this city— when night had fallen and the streets became far too dangerous of a place for a defenseless girl like you to be out in them. you had no idea the kind of people he dealt with, the things he’d seen, the things he had to do. he just didn’t want you to get hurt, but he wasn’t the best at expressing the sincerity of his words, and they often came out too rough, too harsh. it was the best he could do, he was trying to communicate effectively, he really was. but time and time again you’d failed to try and understand his pleas past the words spoken to you; to actually listen to them, and comprehend them, and not just listen to respond.
so, being you, you retorted like the stubborn girl you always were. the stubborn girl he’d fallen so helplessly in love with and was only trying to protect with his entire being.
you scoffed, rolling your eyes at him in disbelief. “look, you can’t tell me what to do, miles. i can do what i want.”
he didn’t hear anything that came from your mouth, because the expression on your face had completely distracted him from the conversation at hand.
“hol’ on, did you just roll your eyes at me?” his brow raised, daring you to answer that question with anything but a ‘no’.
what you responded with wasn’t necessarily a ‘yes’ per sé, but it definitely wasn’t any better.
“oh, so you wanna control my face now, too? dictating what i do with my life or the shit i say isn’t enough for you?” you challenged.
his head dipped back as he laughed, a deep, provoked laugh— though the both of you knew nothing was funny, and that this was always how he reacted before he actually got angry. laughing it off was a means for him to screw his head back on right, as if a warning to you to not push him too far, because anybody who spoke to him with this kind of gall just had to be joking.
he exhaled heavily, a hand scrubbing down his face.
“can’t lie, you talkin’ mad crazy right now, ma. i think you need to cool it with that.” he warned, corners of his lips turned into a forewarning leer. “ima let that lil’ shit you just said slide, cause i love you, and ion wanna hurt your feelings, but we done talking about this.” he decided, leaning forward to prop his phone back up on his desk before scooping his playstation controller back up into his hands.
“and watch your mouth.”
chin retreating towards your chest, you were taken aback at how quickly he decided for the both of you that the conversation was over, as if you had to agree with him, as if things were decided simply because he’d said so. and somehow, you found it in all your unbridled nerve to make things worse.
“yeah, you’re right. we are.”
thumb pressing to the red X, you hung up the phone, leaving miles to gape at the black of his screen with shock etched into his features. he waited for you to call back and tell him it was an accident, and sat there for a minute, leg bouncing to maintain what little patience he’d managed to cling onto during this entire ordeal. he swallowed his pride and called you back, only for the screen to read ‘facetime unavailable’ after just two rings. you declined it. squaring his jaw, he calmly nodded to himself, phone snatched up, jacket thrown on and controller tossed onto his bed— game forgotten about.
“bet.”
____
you were fuming after you’d hung up the phone, steam probably would’ve been puffing from your ears if something like that were possible outside of the cartoons. there was a tiny part—no, a huge part of you that knew you shouldn’t have hung up on him like that; that regretted it. a part that knew miles’ was genuinely trying his best to speak to you calmly in the way he’d learned how, specifically for you, when calm was something he rarely ever felt. but you couldn’t help your anger either, and figured a break from the conversation, and a shower to calm you down would do the both of you some good.
you sauntered out your bathroom after about twenty minutes, a towel tightly wrapped round your damp torso and a heavy, depleted exhale departing from your lungs.
you felt relaxed. the heat of the water had washed away most, if not all of your anger towards the situation and you sighed to yourself, ready to come back to the discussion with a level head, and to apologize to your boyfriend for snapping at him and ending the call so abruptly. it was rude of you, and honestly you hadn’t thought it through until you had already—
“you know, ion usually fuck with cats like that, cause y’all kinda freak me out. but you cool.”
the inner dialogue of your thoughts were cut off by a familiar voice, muffled through the shut door of your bedroom.
“what the fuck—“ you hurriedly started towards the door, hand barely remaining on the doorknob for a second as you flung it open, to see none other than your boyfriend, miles, sat in your desk chair with your cat, bella, in his lap.
he was leaned back, his large green puffer jacket still on, legs spread in his grey sweats. he looked very comfortable for someone who had just broken into a home.
“how the hell did you get into my house, miles?”
you stared at him unbelievingly, quickly shutting the door behind you. he was in no rush to lift his head to address you directly as he scratched the underside of bella’s chin with his pointer finger.
“window. you should really lock that.”
“even if i had, you would’ve picked it.” you argued.
“true.”
his eyes eventually met yours, and they gave you a drawn out once over, gaze following the drops of water that rolled down your skin. there was a hint of a smirk on his lips, and he almost forgot what he came here for. almost.
you felt your face heat up, grip tightening over your bath towel as you shifted on your feet, suddenly feeling flustered from the boldness of his gaze. so he looked away.
“let’s hope that shower gave your mama some of her sense back, huh?” he dipped his head down to address your cat in a sweet voice, before gently lifting her off his lap and placing her back onto the floor, only for her to drag her head and body along his calf with a purr. traitor.
he leaned back once more, hands patiently clasped between his open legs and head cocked to the side, twin braids swishing behind him when he did so.
“so wassup? you wanna try that conversation again?” with a brow raised he studied your features, as if he were silently challenging you to talk that same shit you did over the phone to his face.
“do you know what boundaries are?”
“nah, not really.” he admitted.
you swallowed, gesturing towards the open room for a reason you didn’t know why.
“can i at least get dressed first?” you cringed at how your voice sounded when you spoke, but the way he was looking at you had your mind reeling and you could only focus on one thing at a time— the argument long forgotten. to be honest, you don’t even recall what you had a problem with.
he shrugged. “sure, if that’s what you’d like.” arms crossing over his chest he spun around in your swivel chair, now facing the same window he’d come in through. “lemme know when i can turn around.”
you sighed.
this boy was going to be the death of you.

One Call Away
[Wade Wilson x Female!Reader]
Synopsis: During one of his "jobs," Deadpool gets a call from his favorite gal [GIF Creds: jdsheart]
WC: 1970
Category: Fluff, Major Comedy {TW: Deadpool’s Humor/Nonfiltered Personality}
This man is so hard to write. I’m always stressing the noggin when it comes to planning and plotting 😔
『••✎••』
"And away we go..."
One neck crack and a couple of hip twists later, he was off like Aladdin and his fucktoy carpet, scaling the building similarly to a chameleon on LSD.
The only thing that was missing was some epic music.
He'd been chasing this baddie around the city for almost two days now. Some big-shot mob boss with ties to Hydra, or the Mafia, or the Yakuza, or some other three-letter-acronym organization. It was hard to keep track of them all at this point. They were all the same, except for the name.
They all had their own agenda.
Kill him, keep him prisoner, pay him off...
Wade never cared enough to listen because it was always the same. He just got hired to do the dirty work, and the pay was good.
The killing was better.
This one, however, was particularly good at eluding him. He'd been trying to get his hands on this man for a few days now. It wasn't as though he was trying to be stealthy or anything, either. He'd walked right up to his front door, knocked, and was greeted with a spray of machine gun bullets.
So, the usual.
But then the guy ran and didn't stop. It was like the fucking Roadrunner met Sonic the Hedgehog, and they decided to fuck around and find out.
Wade was getting real sick and tired of being a Roadrunner, too. He had a reputation to uphold. He wasn't known as the Merc with the Mouth for nothing. He was supposed to be the one doing the running and the killing.
Not the other way around.
Finally, finally, he managed to reach the roof where the guy was currently taking cover behind a small brick shack. The sun was rising, but it was still dark, and there were a couple of floodlights shining on the rooftop. It made him think of the night he'd had that heart-to-heart with Blind Al, even though all she really wanted was for him to bring her some of that special brownie mix.
What a night that had been.
But anyway, this monologue is starting to get too long, and we should probably move things along, eh?
Right.
So, the baddie.
His name was something long and non-English.
Salvatore, or Santino, or Salvation... Whatever the fuck it was, it didn't really matter. What mattered was that it was time to make him dead.
He stepped around the corner and was met with a spray of bullets, all of which lodged themselves into his Kevlar vest.
"Oh, come on!" he yelled over the sound of the gunfire. "This is real leather, you know. I'm tired of all the offscreen sewing and shit."
When the spray finally ended, he took a moment to catch his breath.
"…ow," he whispered to himself.
"You shouldn't have followed me here," the man said.
"Yeah, whatever," Deadpool replied. "Look, I'll make this easy for you. You drop down and give me fifty, and I'll let you keep that hideous mustache you're sporting."
The man's eyes widened in surprise.
"It's not that bad, is it?"
"Yes, yes it is," Deadpool assured him. "You got a squirrel living in it or something?"
"It's just a little bit of gray, you dick," the man argued. "What about you? What's with the mask? Are you hiding a mustache under there, too, or something? Maybe some acne scars?"
Deadpool shook his head and stepped forward, his guns drawn.
"Don't come any closer!"
"You know, this would be much more intimidating if you didn't look like a cartoon mouse."
"Stop it with the mustache!"
"Alright, alright," Deadpool said. "Enough with the mustache. But what is it about your hairline? I can't put my finger on it."
The man sighed in exasperation and pulled out his pistol, aiming it right at Deadpool's face.
"Hey now, don't point that at me," Deadpool scolded him. "That's not a very nice thing to do."
He ignored him and pulled the trigger, a loud boom ringing out as the bullet fired. It whizzed by him but missed its mark.
"You really are a dick," He grumbled before aiming his gun right between the man's eyes. And he was going to shoot, honest.
He really was.
But then his phone rang, and he was well-reminded of the current song playing through his head.
I'm a buff baby that can dance like a man. I can shake-ah my fanny, I can shake-ah my can!
Needless to say, he was distracted.
He lowered his gun and looked down at his pocket, where his phone was still ringing and still vibrating against his leg.
"Shit, hold that thought," He said to the guy, and he holstered his gun.
"Wh-what the hell are you doing?!"
Deadpool put his finger up to shush him before pulling his phone out of his pocket to answer it.
If you're an evil witch, I’ll punch you for fu—
"Heyyyy," he said in a sing-songy voice, "you've reached the phone sex hotline. For kinks and fetishes, press one. For booty calls, press two. For your favorite mercenary, press three."
"Ey, pendejo—" His opponent started, but he cut him off by snapping and raising his finger.
"Cut it, Tuco Salamanca. Breaking Bad called and wants its meth-cooking mustache back."
"Wha-I-you-"
"Anyways, this is your favorite merc speaking. Who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?"
"Is this a bad time?"
Wade's eyes widened in shock, and his jaw dropped open when he heard her voice on the other end of the line.
"Baby girl! Is that you? Oh, how I've missed your voice. It's like hearing an angel, or an angelic chorus, or a whole bunch of angels, but you're the most important one. Like, the lead singer or something."
"I literally saw you last night." Your voice was always drenched with the most amazing kind of sarcasm, and he'd missed it.
"And?"
"It's only been a few hours."
"And?"
"That's a short amount of time."
"And?"
You sighed, but he knew you weren't really annoyed.
"Anyways, you sounded busy," you continued, "so I'll just let you go."
"What?! No! Don't hang up!" He shouted into the receiver. "I've only fiddled with my pistols! Nothing interesting is happening right now!"
"Your pistols, huh?" You asked a hint of mischief in your voice.
"Well, yeah. They're the most important part of the mission, you know."
In the corner of his eye, he could see his target making his way towards the edge of the building. Quickly and efficiently, without dropping his attention from his conversation with you, he lifted his gun and fired a shot at the man's knee.
"Ah, fuck!" the man screamed in pain. "My knee!"
"Hey! Language!" Deadpool scolded him. "The lady of the house is listening!"
"Lady of the- what the fuck?!"
"I said language, you mustachioed rat!"
"Mustachioed rat?" You asked.
"Sorry, babe," he replied. "You know how excited I get when Downtown Abbey is on."
“There’s gunshots in Downtown Abbey?"
"Gunshots? Oh, no, no. That was… uh, a car alarm. Yeah, the neighbor's car alarm was going off."
"Uh-huh," you said, not sounding very convinced. And, of course, that was right around the time the guy's gun went off again, this time hitting him square in the shoulder. It made the phone fall out of his hand and clatter onto the ground, but the call was still connected.
"Dammit!" He yelled, looking at the fresh blood dripping down his arm. "That's gonna take forever to heal!"
"Who are you talking to?" The man demanded, his gun still aimed at Deadpool's face. "You're working with someone?"
"Hey, now, I don't remember giving you permission to talk," Deadpool told him, holding his bloody arm up to his face. "Look, I've gotta call you back, babe. I know it's been so heartbreakingly long—"
"Again, only a few hours," you said.
"—but duty calls. Love you, bye."
"Love you, bye."
With that, the line disconnected.
"Ugh," he groaned, his heart aching for the loss of your sweet voice. "I miss her already."
"Ey," his opponent growled, drawing his attention. He started speaking in rapid-fire Spanish, which Deadpool didn't really understand, but he didn't have to. The guy was just ranting and raving.
"Alright, alright, chill," Deadpool said. "Just calm down. It’ll all be over soon, little buddy."
"I am not little! I am a giant!" The guy protested, and Wade could practically see the steam coming out of his ears. "And I will not chill!"
"Well, can't argue with that, I guess," Deadpool said with a shrug, and he took aim. But before he could pull the trigger, the guy was running again.
"Hey, what did I tell you about running?!" He yelled, but his voice fell on deaf ears as the guy reached the ledge.
"I am a giant!"
"No, you're a giant asshat!"
"I will not be bested by some masked buffoon!"
"Buff? Me? Why, I never!"
"You're the biggest asshole I've ever met!"
"You know what? I am a big ass! A big, round, bubbly ass." He paused for a second. "Hey, what's your favorite flavor?"
"Fuck you, you red-clad imbecile!"
"You know, I'd ask you out to dinner first, but we're kinda past that now."
"Argh!"
"Alright, enough stalling," Deadpool said. "It's time to end this."
"Yes," the guy said, turning his gun back on Deadpool. "It is."
Of course, Deadpool being the smart-ass he was, he'd already taken a step to the side. As the bullet whizzed past him, he reached for his gun.
"Now, where did I put that thing? Oh, there it is."
He aimed the gun and fired, and the man fell back onto the ground. The bullet hit him right in the middle of his forehead, his blood splattering all over the concrete.
"Ha ha! Fatality. Deadpool wins!" He said, his voice taking on the deep, grounded tone of the narrator from Mortal Kombat. "Flawless Victory."
He stood over the body for a few seconds, reveling in his victory, before he felt the presence of another.
The gun on his right side got ripped from its holster, and the barrel was aimed back into his face, as it always seems to be.
But, he already sensed it was coming, so his fingers wrapped around his other and aimed that right in the golden spot… and let’s just say, The Golden Girls was a little less golden and a lot more crimson.
"Wow, this has got to be a record," He said as he bent down to stare at the new one’s anguish. "Two dead ugly mustaches in the same day. You can call me Sweeney Todd because shit… I just shaved you the fuck up."
He didn’t give the poor bastard a chance to even whimper before he fired another two shots into the man's head. All in all, this had been the easiest payday he'd had in a while.
He picked up his cell phone and slipped it back into its pocket before bending down and scooping up the mustache man's pistol.
"Ooh, lookie here, a nice, shiny new pistol," he said to himself. "Just what I've always wanted. Well, I don't actually need it. It's not like I have any other holes in my body, but you know what they say. The more the merrier."
He stuffed the gun in his holster and turned around, heading back the way he'd come.
"Time to get back to the good stuff," he said. "I have a date with my favorite girl."
He hopped up onto the ledge and looked down, his eyes locking on the window to his apartment.
And when he arrived, bloody and battered, you could only smile while holding up little ole Mary Puppins in all her drooling glory.
God, how he missed his girls.

“But it’s not gay if he’s dead.” Danny’s head whipped around to stare down the street at two guys walking on the other side. He thought he was free of hearing that phrase ever again. Heart thudding in his ears, he crossed the street to tail these two guys. There was no way? Right? I mean Danny was something like 1,000 miles away from his hometown. There was no way two random guys in the big city of Gotham would’ve ever heard of –
“I don’t know man, it’s never been confirmed whether or not the “big guy” was actually… ya know?”
Danny seethed in frustration at the vague conversation. He stepped around a group of kids as he barely made the end of the crosswalk countdown.
“Nah, Red makes too many uncomfortable jokes about death to not have died.”
Danny sped up, weaving in between people to catch up before he lost the conversation in the din.
“It’s Gotham, we all make jokes about death.”
“Ya, but not like him. He seems to revel in them, like he actually kicked the bucket, permanent-like, not like those people who – I don’t know – cardiac arrest and are technically dead for a couple minutes until the EMTs get to them or whatever.”
A car puttered down the road – releasing a huge plume of exhaust in between Danny and the guys. Danny sighed, fully intending to return to his original path with the reassurance that they weren’t talking about Phantom. Then the next damned sentence came out of one of their mouths.
“Ok sure let’s say you’re right. Is it necrophilia if his body started decaying before coming back?”
‘Fuck it’ Danny thought as he turned back around. He had to see how this conversation ended – definitely not because the answer to that question kept him up night. Absolutely not. Call him a cat because he was just curious and not all at invested in the answer.
“Oh! Dude, shut the fuck up! Why would you – that’s disgusting! Are you kidding me!”
“Answer the question Mr. It’s Not Gay if He’s Dead – necrophiliac: yes or no?”
“No? Have you seen Red’s body? No way a dead guy could have muscles like that – I mean you gotta have working bodily functions right? To build muscles or whatever the fuck? Like have you seen his abs? Or, shit, just his arms - I mean swoon worthy, what I wouldn’t give to have him hold -”
“…….”
“- me…. What are ya looking at me like that for?”
“When, exactly, have you seen his abs.”
“Aaaah - that’s not the point –“
“Sure as hell hope that’s the point.” Red Hood stepped out of an alleyway they were walking past. Even with a helmet on, Danny swore the guy stared straight at him. He was so fucked getting caught listening in to this conversation – could he play it cool? Danny was cool right? Yeah, he could totally pull this off, act totally normal and keep walking. Hunching his shoulders some and turning his body away from the three men, he walked past. Or tried to. Red Hood caught the back of his shirt, stopping him from getting away. Unless Danny was willing to expose his powers to get out this situation, the best he could do was play dumb and hope Hood let him go without too much hassle.
“Boss!”
“Hey Boss – you didn’t happen to only hear the second half of that, did you?”
Red Hood growled, “the part about necrophilia or the part about my abs?”
Danny twisted his head back to see Goon #1 turn pale. “Uuuh – uh- um,” met Red Hood’s question.
A choreographed roll of the eyes, “Better question, why are you talking shit out on the streets and not paying attention to your little stalker,” Hood gestured to Danny.
“I’m not a stalker!” Danny huffed. His eyes widened. All three guys looked over at him. ‘SHIT’ Danny thought. He did not want to catch anyone’s attention more than he had, much less all three.
Goon No. 2 looked at him, as he resumed his squirming in Red Hood’s grasp, “So who are you?”
Danny glanced up to see Red Hood staring down at him. Today just wasn’t his day. “Hood,” Danny blurted out.
Silence. The tips of Danny’s ears turned bright red
“Uhm, I mean, a tourist?” “In Crime Alley, kid?”
"I'm not a kid," Danny muttered.
Hood shook Danny’s shirt hard enough to also shake Danny himself. “Try again. I’ve seen you around often enough to know that’s a lie.”
“It’s true!” Danny lied. “I was visiting the city, my wallet got pickpocketed with most of my money, so now I’m… kind of…. Stuck here? Indefinitely?”
Goon No. 1 laughed at him, “do ya think we’re dumb? You have a cellie right? No way you’re ‘stuck here’.”
“Exactly, so who do you work for? Penguin?” A jab towards Danny’s face. “Riddler?” Another jab and a step towards Danny. “Is it Two Face?” Another, even closer jab. Danny went cross-eyed looking at the finger in front of his nose.
“Back off,” Hood said. Danny breathed a sigh of relief at being given some space. And then the next words came out of Red Hood’s mouth, “Get lost you two – and stop gossiping on the street. And you-“ Hood turned back to Danny, “ – you’re coming with me.” Danny gulped. Today was going down as another shit day in the books for sure.

Casual Study Dates | Peter Parker
(MCU) Peter Parker/Fem Stark Reader
Warnings - slightly suggestive
Summary - Avenger’s compound a usually busy place hustling with activity seems unusually quiet for the day. leaving y/n and Peter in a sticky situation (pun intended)
Word Count: 1,237
°°••....••°°
Avenger’s Compound, a place that’s usually bustling with activities and combat training sometime’s has quiet days like this where super-powered humans who have insanely intense hearing can hear a pin drop from across campus. For you though being one of the youngest on the team you hated those days because it seemed as if everybody always wanted to see what you were up to. You weren’t necessarily an avenger but you were extremely smart and helped out around the lab and worked on some Stark Industries projects with your dad every once and a while. And that’s how you met Peter Parker and during those first two years of awkward conversations and study dates you two seemed to find some comfort in all that awkwardness.
“Are you nervous about MIT sending out their decisions soon?” Peter asked while getting comfortable on your bed while staring out at the beautiful city view.
“Why would I be nervous Peter? Most of my family are MIT Alumni.” You said a bit cocky if you really think about it.
“I- know it’s just I figured maybe you’d be experiencing the same nerves I was. It was a stupid question nevermind sorry” Peter stuttered out.
“You don’t have to be sorry Peter and you definitely don’t have to worry my dad put in a good word about you. You’re one hundred percent getting into MIT” You told him confidently.
You knew Peter was an anxious person and you’d do anything to take his nerves away.
“Now are we going to keep stressing about MIT or are we going to figure out these formulas that Bruce gave us to solve?” You asked while holding up the stack of papers labeled ‘Top Secret Formulas’.
Peter nodded his head yes while lifting his body off your bed to instead sit on the edge of the bed closer to your desk where all of your work was scattered across your laptop.
“But first I need to put some music on or else I won’t be able to focus” You said before sliding the miscellaneous papers off your laptop.
“That’s the Stark in you talking, how can you focus better with music blasting in your ears?” Peter asked while laughing.
“I guess you are right, that is a classic trait of my dads. But it just helps me focus better. I don't know, I can't explain it.” You turned on your playlist before flipping to the first page of the stack of formulas Bruce assigned you to solve.
Your speaker was loud but who cares it’s not like anyone cared or was listening everyone was off doing their own things. The first few songs were upbeat and fun but the farther you got into your playlist the more guilty pleasure songs started playing, but Peter didn’t mind he was blocking out the music anyways so he could focus better on the formulas in front of him. What you didn’t know was that Steve and Nat were standing outside your room listening.
“Knee deep where? doing what?” Steve said worriedly looking over at Nat.
“It’s just a song Steve stop being so old-school” Nat smirked back at him.
“But Peter’s in there with her, what if they aren’t actually studying?” Steve asked as any worried uncle would.
“The song is talking about having relations in the bathroom during dinner time, that’s not appropriate Nat” Steve said firmly not accepting any excuse now.
Nat wasn’t interested in continuing this conversation any further and started walking toward the living quarters where there sat Bucky, Clint, Bruce and of course Tony.
“What’s got you so tense Cap? Your boyfriends right here if you have to relieve some tension” Tony laughed making fun of Steve and Bucky’s unusual bromance.
“I think you should worry more about what your daughter and Peter are doing upstairs” Steve said, crossing his arms.
“What? What are you talking about Cap? His vigilant ass better not be corrupting my innocent perfect daughter” Tony angrily stated as his face turned a shade of red nobody expected.
“They are listening to a song about having relations in the car and bathroom” Steve said pointing upstairs to your room.
“And you didn’t shut it down the moment you heard that? What kind of uncle are you?” Tony asked running up the stairs to take a listen for himself.
“Oh my gosh the lyrics are filthy but it sounds so calming, how does an artist achieve that?” Tony muttered under his breath before harshly knocking on your bedroom door and bursting in unannounced.
“What’s going on here?” Tony yelled loudly only to be met with a view of you sitting at your desk and Peter sitting on your bed leaning against the headboard with a textbook and stack of papers sitting on his lap.
“What dad? We are busy figuring out the formulas Bruce gave us. Why the hell is everyone crowding outside my room?” You asked, pointing towards Steve, Bucky, Nat, Clint and Bruce all huddling in a circle outside your bedroom door.
“Well we heard the song you guys were listening to and were a bit concerned. You guys aren’t acting on those lyrics are you? You guys better not be under my roof” Tony questioned with a look of disgust on his face.
“What the hell are you going on about dad?” You asked looking over at Peter who looked like he'd seen a ghost.
“Are you guys having sexual relations?” Tony asked in disgust as your playlist suddenly skipped to the next song which would make your case even worse.
“Head so good, she's an honor roll she’ll ride your what like a carnival?” Tony repeated the lyrics.
“I am on the honor roll though, so it’s not entirely a lie” You replied back smirking like a smartass.
“This is not a laughing matter young lady, we are talking about something serious here, answer my question right now” Tony stated with a straight face not joking around anymore.
“Yeah we are and what about it?” You said, shrugging your shoulders.
“Y/n not in front of everybody” Peter said shyly.
“Who cares Peter they were going to find out sooner or later anyways, might as well just tell them now” You said looking back at everyone’s shocked faces. As you looked past your father behind him stood Bucky handing Clint a ten dollar bill.
“You guys had a bet going on about us?” Peter asked, looking back and forth between them but also keeping one eye on Tony just in case he might try to kill him.
“This conversation is not over and from now on this door stays open” Tony said sternly ignoring all the giggles and snarky remarks coming from his fellow avengers. Your playlist then starts playing a different song which lightens up the mood just a little.
“This one has a dance to go along with it, watch H-O-T-T-O-G-O it’s like the YMCA'' You said while doing the dance.
“I like doing the YMCA” Steve said, smiling now entering your room.
“Of course you do because you're ancient” Peter said jokingly.
As you can expect you didn’t think you’d be ending your day teaching Steve Rogers the Hot To Go dance however you wouldn’t trade the quiet days at the compound for anything because at the end of the day you’re just one big family and you wouldn’t trade them for the world.

I really love your work, and if my message comes out as awkward, I apologize
I just had a brain fart while reading that hot to go fic and just imagined the Jackman family at a Chappell Roan concert. I don't expect anything, just sending :). Keep doing the good work💖
hot to go part 2 | hugh jackman
an: CHAPPELL AND HUGH?? yes pls <3 thank you for the request!!
Gov ball 2024
Ever since you and Hugh got Olivia and her friends tickets to the governors ball music festival, all she did was play Chappell Roan’s music on repeat. Occasionally she would play Fleetwood Mac or Joan Jett, but Chappell Roan was always at the top of her playlist.
You and Hugh had days off and they happened to land on the same days as the gov ball so you decided that a music festival was the best way to spend time together.
Your boys were in Los Angeles with friends so Olivia gave the tickets to her two friends. You were grateful you didn’t have to fly to another city for the festival.
“Who are we seeing again?” Hugh asked, probably for the tenth time. He was more old school when it came to music, but he still liked to listen to Olivia’s music.
“Chappell Roan, dad. Remember the dance I was showing mom the other day? That’s her song that goes with the dance.” Olivia explained.
“I really like her song ‘red wine supernova’. I hope she plays it.” You looked down at your phone. Alex and Reese had texted you pictures of them and their friends at the beach. You missed them, but you were glad they were having fun.
“So how does the dance go?” Hugh asked.
It took a while but, after many attempts, Hugh finally got the hot to go dance figured out. Olivia felt so proud when he finally got it.
“See that, honey? This old man can still dance.” Hugh said with a smirk on his face.
“Not to brag but it took less tries for me to learn.”
After waiting in the crowd a for what seemed hours (Olivia’s words), Chappell Roan finally arrived on stage. Hugh, like the dad he is, took out his phone and recorded both Chappell Roan and his daughter having the time of her life with her friends, singing and jumping along to the music.
“When is she playing the hot to go?” Hugh asked you.
“It’s just called hot to go, there’s no the in front.” You clarified.
“Oh.”
Eventually hot to go did play. That’s when Hugh and you got told by Olivia that this was the song that they had to dance to. Some fans had spotted the celebrity couple dancing along and recorded them. It’s not everyday you see the wolverine dancing to Chappell Roan.
Hugh ended up having a few mistakes when it came to the dance but he didn’t care. He was having fun. At one point he was being recorded by you.
“You can take me hot to go!” Hugh sang along. “That’s all I know! I don’t know the words, but I’ll learn!”
In a matter of minutes, you and Hugh were on trending everywhere. You even got several messages from Alex and Reese about your viral videos. At the moment, the boys wished they were there either you, Hugh and Olivia.

love u too♡
cw death related anxiety
“Hey, Remus?” you ask tentatively.
Your housemate lays across the sofa with his dinner half eaten on the coffee table and a book tented on his chest. He's ignoring both in favour of the television, a rerun of Family Fortunes turning the sofa cushions and his pale skin a light blue.
He drags his blue-tinged gaze from the subtitles to your frowning. “What's wrong?” he asks. You're surprised he heard you over the sound of Sirius’ stereo echoing down the stairs.
“Where did James say he was going?”
“I think he said he'd be at the gym for an hour now he's not in work. Want me to call him?”
“Why would you call him?” you ask, instead of saying yes, please, like you want to.
“You're worrying again.”
They know how you are. It doesn't mean they have to understand —it isn't logical to think James is hurt because he hasn't been home today yet, and none of them are required to humour you in your worry, but they always do.
You feel sick as he takes his phone from his pocket. You've convinced yourself that James is dead, that his car curled around a bend too quickly on the drive in the rain, or that something happened at the gym, or that he never made it there at all, had a fit in the car park outside of work. Even as you think it, you know it's implausible, unlikely, just a repetitive negative anxiety worming its way into your head, but you can't make it stop.
James doesn't answer the first time, which doesn't help, and then when he does answer the second time you're waiting for bad news. Remus smiles as he talks. “Hello? Jamie?”
James doesn't need speak phone to be heard. “Remus! I'm at the gym, what's happening?”
Remus wrinkles his nose. “What's happening? Since when do you say that?”
“What's up?” James corrects. “I'm on my way out of the gym, can you talk? You can keep me company while I drive.”
Remus holds out the phone to you.
“Remus?” James asks into the room. You take the phone before he can hang up, and decide to be honest, but the words get stuck like toffee between your teeth. “Hello?”
“Hey,” you say, sending Remus a grateful look. He moves over to make room on settee for you, and his arm wraps familiarly around your shoulders as you settle in. He turns his attention back to his show.
“Oh my god hey, angel. Remus okay?”
“I was making him ring you, sorry. I thought… you know what I'm like. It's getting late and you aren't home, and I know I don't have the right to pester you about where you are.”
“Yeah you do,” James says, his voice louder, like his mouth is very close to the microphone. “Course you do. I'd worry too if you weren't home yet.”
“I do this all the time, though.”
Just last week he and Sirius were out late and you'd panicked that they'd both been hurt. You stayed up until almost one in the morning waiting for them to get home from a music shop in the city, each minute after eleven like a shot of ice water in your veins. Sirius jumped when he saw you waiting in the living room, but then he'd given you a hug and rubbed at your shoulders roughly. You didn't wait up for us, did you?
“It's worse lately, yeah?” James asks. You hum non-committal, and Remus gives you a squeeze in typical Remus fashion. You hadn't even realised he was listening, but his support makes this easier. “You're worrying about us more.”
“Yeah,” you say. “I don't know why. And it sucks because I know it's making me a lot to deal with.”
“I would one thousand percent prefer it if you rang me then sat there worrying. That would make me feel better. And Remus and Sirius feel the same way, okay? We could all stand to ring each other a bit more anyways.”
You rub your nose into your hand. “Sorry,” you mumble.
“There's no need to be. I love you, ‘n I just want you to be happy. If a phone call can make that happen then why shouldn't you do it? And it's not like they're a big imposition, I like talking to you. We all do.”
James is home from the gym what could only be ten minutes later, and he leans over the back of the settee to kiss your forehead chasely. “Here we are, all safe and well.”
“You haven't seen Sirius yet,” Remus points out.
“I can bloody well hear him. What is he listening to? Is that U2?” James shakes his head in disgust. I can see why you were so worried I wasn't coming home. Let me go put a stop to that immediately.”

Stanley pines x gn!reader where he keeps flirting with them and reader keeps playing coy and acting hard to get? both same age and he meets them at greasies diner? (I love old couples ahh)
Stanley Pines x gn!reader
A nice old couple
Synopsis: You meet the so called "Man of Mystery" that you've heard so much about since entering town.. he's one slyyyyyy dog. Takes place before the portal is opened.
"And that is Stanford Pines, Man of Mystery."
"man of mystery?" You ask lazy Susan suspiciously.
"Yes! He runs the Mystery Shack down in the woods. Real odd place that is." You hummed and went back to your coffee. Someone sat down next to you.
"I'll take one coffee, hold the creamer." He grumbled, he had on a cheap suit and had messy grey hair. Time had gotten to him, looks like stress too. He looked over at you,
"I never seen you here before, you visiting town? If so could I recommend the mys-"
"I just moved down here, I'm not really in the mood for.. tourist traps."
"Moved down here? Usually we don't get people moving down here."
"Well, my grandkids all grew up and stopped visiting, so I thought that small town would be the way to go. Can't move around the city like I used to, and I grew up in a small town."
He "cooly" stuck his hand out,
"names Stanford Pines,"
You shook his hand, "Y/N L/N."
and that was all of that interaction. You two would see each other around. You two didn't talk again til you met these two kids. Twins.
You had been sitting at the counter at Greasies, like you usually did, with the paper. You couldn't get enough of all these strange occurrences. Reminded you of when you were young hanging around John win- that's better left buried. These two kids came up to sit at the counter, the girl ordering a piece of pie as the boy pulled out this book with all these strange pictures. He glanced over at your newspaper and cocked a brow.
"Do you believe that? About that monster?"
You smiled a bit, "You best believe it."
You two had a very engaging conversation. You learned the kids name was "Dipper" which you thought was an odd thing to name your kid, and his sister's name was Mable. They were interested in the supernatural...So you started to tell them stories. One day, you were in the diner when the kids came in with that Pines guy.
"(Preferred title) Y/N?" Mable said, you smiled at her, "This is our Grunkle Stan!"
"Grunkle?" you asked curiously, he seemed a bit surprised that you were the one his kids were talking so fondly of.
"My great niece and nephew-" he said as he ushered the kids to go sit down, sitting next to you at the bar,
"So, you're the one who's been pumping their heads with crazy stories, huh?"
You frowned a bit, "Are they having nightmares. I thought they could handle it Mr.Pines, I apologize."
"No-no- they talk pretty fondly of you. I just- was surprised. Didn't take you as the type to be into all the loony crap."
"Loony?" you chuckled a bit, "From what I've heard, you run the mystery shack." He grumbled a bit and left.
About a week later you stumbled upon a book of myths and legends in one of the boxes you were unpacking. You thought of the Pines twins and wanted them to have it, maybe it would "help" them. You liked humoring their games. So, you got into your truck and headed down to the infamous mystery shack.
It was cute, you thought as you walked around. It made you giggle, that is.
"I didn't expect to see you here-" Stan said, skeptically.
"Ah- found a book I wanted your great niece and nephew to have.. hey how much for the sticker,"
After that, Stan seemed to be down at the diner a lot more, especially the times you'd be there. He would sit down and rant about everything under the sun to you. You would listen, it was charming. He liked your way of talking, you liked things he talked about.
Then one evening you were eating breakfast when he started to stutter around.
"Y/N?"
"yes Stan?"
"Would you..like to maybe.. have dinner with me? Without the kids.."
"Stanford Pines," You smiled "Are you asking me out on a date?"
"uh- yes."
"You sly dog. sure I will."
So you two started going out a bit more.

This is my petty complaint time, this video annoys me SO MUCH and even more so what annoys me is that the latest comment on it is this:
HE TAUGHT YOU SO MUCH BULLSHIT, PLEASE NO, DON'T LISTEN TO HIM
And yes, I've been thinking about this stream for nearly three years now, I've been meaning to go through it to critique Wilbur's arguments, I just never got around to it
Wilbur: "Tubbo, you've created an anti-state capitalist dystopia"
So all Tubbo had explained so far was that his town had a big company that owned two other big companies. Nothing about the government or anything. It's true that one company owning all the major businesses is pretty dystopian, sure, but I have no idea where Wilbur got the "anti-state" thing from, usually capitalist companies are fine with the existence of states, states do a lot of dirty work for the capitalists
Spoiler alert: Tubbo's city turns out to be pretty much a city state so Wilbur is just wrong anyway, not that he ever acknowledges it even when it does come up
Also it's not like corporate acquisitions are completely unheard of in the UK, as far as I know. Admittedly the UK is also arguably a capitalist dystopia but you know what I mean, the concept shouldn't be all that shocking to Wilbur
He's being so dramatic and trying to make it sound like he's caught Tubbo in a mistake or something. He also keeps asking questions and then not letting Tubbo answer properly before taking like one word Tubbo says and running with it
But this is the one that I find the most obnoxious:
T: "I did some research into like economics and stuff and I discovered this thing called UBI, have you heard of it?"
W: "What's it stand for?"
T: "Universal Basic Income"
W: "Yeah, I know about that"
He clearly does not know what UBI is.
It becomes very apparent very quickly:
W: "So you've got universal basic income but then also the rich exist still?"
T: "Yeah! Yeah they do."
W: "How does that come about then,"
T: "So in my mind--"
W: "is this universal basic income different for different people?"
T: "No, no, the universal basic income is better for everyone, just the people who have--"
W: "In order for there to be a 1% that means someone's earning more,"
T: "Yes, someone is earning more"
W: "but that means the universal basic income isn't universal!"
T: "No no no, not everyone's getting paid the same but everyone gets the same to begin with, okay? But then you can build on top of it."
W: "Oh no, you've got a-- Tubbo, you've got a fucking social point system!"
T: "Have I made a social point system??"
W: "Tubbo, you've made China!"
None of what Wilbur says makes ANY sense here. The only explanation I can think of is that he didn't know what UBI was, made an assumption that it just meant "everybody gets paid the same amount of money" or something like that and then just spoke fast enough that Tubbo couldn't correct him
Tubbo is correct here, Tubbo knows what he's talking about, but he can't out-speak Wilbur who is just throwing so much bullshit out of his mouth that there's no time to even respond
So, UBI means that everyone in the society gets a regular payment of a specific amount of money that's the same for everyone regardless of their life situation (and generally a requirement would be that it has to be enough to live on, altho people do like to water this down a lot...) This would be completely irrelevant to your wages or salary or capital gains. You can choose to either live on the UBI or you can just do the regular capitalist things to earn extra money on top of the UBI
Obviously I'm not one of those people who think that UBI would solve all of world's problems, I mean I am an anarchist and all (and not an ancap either), but it's literally just a very streamlined welfare system. That's all. It would probably be a lot better than the current models we have but it's not fundamentally different. There's nothing particularly weird about it, the point is just to make sure that everyone has enough money to live on, in every other regard it's just normal capitalism
Wilbur completely misunderstands the whole thing (because, again, he does not know what UBI is so he's just trying to imagine what it might mean based on what Tubbo is saying) and jumps immediately to something he apparently has heard of, which is the Chinese social credit system, which has nothing to do with UBI. In fact I'm pretty sure it also doesn't actually have anything to do with income either, or at least not directly, so I don't think Wilbur knows what the social credit system is either
He's literally just talking in buzzwords
Like if you actually wanted to make a leftist critique of Tubbo's city, you could, don't get me wrong. But instead Wilbur keeps insisting that he's made a social point system despite Tubbo trying to explain why it's not that at all
Wilbur just keeps yelling over Tubbo until his own chat turns against him and finally Tubbo himself also kinda gives up
And from there Tubbo also kinda just starts playing into the bit and just lets Wilbur direct the whole conversation, the rest of it is just them getting more and more into the roleplay. Wilbur keeps talking about the state pension plan, even though Tubbo already tried to explain that it's part of the UBI (this actually is how UBI is supposed to work, it does indeed streamline most of the welfare spending! Obviously you can still raise questions about that (I can think of a few at least) but Wilbur didn't let Tubbo explain so I have no idea what Tubbo actually had in mind)
I could try to go through all of what Wilbur says here but it's just too much, so maybe some other time. Although to be honest there are so many other streams that I probably should talk about instead that some fans unfortunately took a bit too seriously because they assumed Wilbur knew what he was talking about
My point here is mainly that just because someone sounds really confident and knows a bunch of buzzwords doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.
#wilbur soot#tubbo#this is literally just petty grumbling#not a serious post#altho i do genuinely hope that people reconsider all the things they've 'learned' from wilbur

sweet pt.2
pairing: jenna ortega x fem reader
summary: jenna can't stop thinking about you, the coffee girl. she may or may not have asked you out on something her friends consider as a date.
word count: 3k+
read the other parts here! previous part: part 1 part 2 part 3
It became sort of a habit for Jenna.
It would be music, think about you, eat, think about you, sleep, think about you, film, yay Jenna gets to see you!
Maybe she’s over exaggerating it, but at the same time she’s really not.
Jenna wasn’t the regular person to be a love bird. Head over heels for someone was barely something she was used to. Well sure she would pass some guys in the city or notice them on set and think, “Oh his hair is perfect” or “He’s kind of cute.” She’s dated a few guys, broke them off because they weren’t for her.
All of the guys only hung out with her knowing she was a celebrity, or she would really think they were the one, until they lost interest and treated her like some toy. She hated when they did that. In fact, she was disgusted by it so much that she didn’t even want to think of having a lasting relationship at all. She just had to find someone right for her.
-
“You’re awfully quiet,” Melissa nudges Jenna as they’re both in their Tara and Sam outfits.
Jenna hums, looking at the taller latina with a small roll of her eyes while their makeup is getting patched up, “Just hungry, I guess.”
She shifts in her seat, her earbuds in and waiting for this day to be over, she forgot an umbrella. Of course the forecast would show as non-stop rain the whole day with thunderstorms, she literally checked the day before and it said sunny.
“Well, we only have to shoot like, 5 scenes. You wanna go with Jas and Mason to the Italian place you like? On me.”
Tempting.
But Jenna’s mind has other plans.
“I think I’m gonna drop by the coffee place next door, craving a latte you know?”
She sees the way Melissa’s face twitches upwards, almost as a confused yet searching look, “You don’t like coffee.”
“The shop changed my mind, Y/N recommended a latte that is actually really good.”
“Y/n you say?” And from Melissa’s sing-song voice, she knows what’s coming.
“Yes,” Jenna scoffs, she can feel her ears begin to heat up.
“I didn’t know you had a friend named Y/N.”
It’s a little quiet, the only noise is from Jenna’s half put in earbud, “I met her a couple days ago, she’s a barista that helps her parents run their coffee shop. Keeps the place cozy and organized.”
“So she’s a barista?”
“Yes,” Jenna replies, half distracted as she picks at her cuticles.
“Who helps run her parent’s coffee shop?”
“Yep.”
“Next door?”
“Uh huh.”
“You like her,” Melissa smirks, it’s not a question anymore.
“Yes-Wait what? No!” Jenna slaps Melissa’s arm, caught off guard.
Jenna hears her laugh, half-heartedly, “I’m just kidding, but you do seem out of it, are you thinking about her often?”
She shrugs, picking off skin that she just scratched.
“Well I think you are, you’re nervous.”
Now the daydreamer turns to face Melissa, “No I’m not, I just think she’s sweet and she’s someone that already brought me out of that introverted lookin’ shell when I first meet people.”
It was true. It’s like you two knew each other when you first met, she hopes you thought of her that way too. She hopes you’re thinking of her as much as she thinks about you everyday.
Melissa looks down at Jenna’s cuticles, then back up at her, “You’re thinking about her, you’ve been quiet today and don’t think I didn’t see what song you’re listening to. You never listen to love songs!”
“What?! I have not been listening to love songs!”
“Lover by Taylor Swift? Lingers by The Cranberries? About you by the 1975? Dark Red by Steve Lacy??”
My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue
All's well that ends well to end up with you
Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover
“I just have taken interest in love songs I guess, it’s spring anyways right?”
“Spring my ass! That is bullshit!” Jasmine chimes in, making Jenna flinch and turn to the corner where Jas was hiding.”
“What the fuck Jas.. Are you eavesdropping?” Jenna shrieks.
“I know when a girl likes a girl,” Jas rolls her eyes and immediately stands up from her squatting position, “Don’t think me and Mason didn’t see you texting someone that you named mY y/N OOoO La lAAaAa..”
Jasmine shuts up with a slipper slapped into her face.
“Just go ask her out or something,” Mason says, popping behind Jasmine and getting the second pair of slippers thrown to his stomach, making him yelp.
“I barely even know her,”
“And there's no difference, you barely fall in love, girl, love at first sight for you means that she’s the one. You know your priorities and she checks all of them. If not, you wouldn’t be listening to those dumb love songs.”
“Gotta agree Jenna, what about this, we’ll go to the Italian restaurant first, then we’ll leave you alone with her in the coffee shop, you come out and tell us how it goes.”
“Why would I do that?”
“Because you love us.”
“Ugh.”
-
The alfredo pasta was twirled from the fork Jenna was holding, eating as the cast of scream 6 giggled and talked during their lunch break. It was a big bowl of pasta to say the least, she shared it with the whole cast but she was eating it up like there was no tomorrow. She knew around this time she came to your cafe, she only came around two times, but if you didn’t see her on a Thursday in the afternoon, she can almost feel the disappointment you might feel. Or hopes you feel, Jenna’s wondering to herself if you even think of her.
“Oh she’s falling hard for this silly Y/N girl,” Jasmine whispers to Melissa, to which she agrees almost immediately.
“No I’m not,” Jenna blurts, placing down her fork.
Everyone in the table clicks their tongue, a few, “Oh come on” and “Liar!”
“Well you wouldn’t have responded, we’ve been talking to you for the past 5 minutes and you only jerk your head when you hear anything about her!” Jasmine groans, showing her hands if they would somehow present something.
She signals for the check, she quickly pays, and as soon as that happens her real life core four push her out of the restaurant and to the outside of the coffee shop, like parents.
“Go,” Jenna’s shoulder was pushed into the door and it was too late to go back as she heard the familiar bell ring.
“I hate you Jas,” her hands flip the 3 people giggling behind the foggy window behind her as she hears the voice she’s been thinking about the whole day.
“Jenna!” Your tiny figure pops out from the coffee bean machine, waving to her happily.
Cute, she thinks to herself. You’re so cute.
“Almost thought you wouldn’t come today,” you murmur, making Jenna shake her head.
“Just had some lunch with friends, but I couldn't miss out on coffee on Thursdays though.”
“Ah,” you hum, your eyes focused on the latte art you were working on.
The only noise is the r&b music and the small chatter that keeps the environment comforting.
A small bunny was being created, pouring the creamer carefully.
“You’re almost looking as tiny and cute as that bunny,” your co-worker, Matteo says, a few feet away from you.
A soft laugh erupts in your throat, rolling your eyes from his compliment, but thanking him nonetheless. Jenna doesn’t know if she’s feeling a strong pit of jealousy that sizzles beneath the back of her mind. Her eyes train on the boy, hazel eyes, brunette hair.
“Okay okay, stop that,” you grumble, a small smile plastered on your face as you playfully nudge him to show your annoyance.
“Feisty,” he chides.
“The only thing I did differently today is that I curled my hair. You can barely see it in this ponytail,” one hand is pointing to your hair while the other keeps concentrating on the bunny.
“You’re also wearing a bow, your freckles are more visible, mmm,” he thinks for a moment, “Oh and,” he comes closer, whispering in your ear so only you can hear. Your body almost shivers from it, “You’re staring at a new coming regular and smiling like a weird teenager.”
You stop your latte art, groaning in frustration since you were caught by a coworker that also is a kind friend of yours.
“No I’m not, stop whispering in my ear and let me do my latte art,” you shove him away and continue to work on your bunny.
Jenna swallows the prickly feeling in her throat, feeling herself scowl at some guy who’s name tag seems to say, “Mat ear.” Maybe she should switch out acting with latte art for a day.
The bunny looks complete.
And perfect, you exhale a breath from pride, slide the latte and call out the person’s order with a warm smile.
Then Jenna feels like a fool standing there because she just realized that she’s been staring at you making another person’s latte. Then you feel stupid for not sending someone over to serve her since you’re assuming that she wanted something.
“Sorry!” You apologize, smacking the top of your head as you lean across the countertop, “Hi Jenna, did you want something?” Jenna looks down at your lips for a moment, your teeth tugged on your bottom lip, then trails back up to the menu.
“No worries, I should’ve sat down, I just wanted to visit I guess. Sure. Um,” She doesn’t know what to get.
“Confused again huh?” You tease, looking at the menu then at the lattes. It makes her almost fan herself to know that you know she wants a latte today.
It takes a moment for you to think, “I don’t even think I put this up on our menu, but the other day when I was closing I tried a hazelnut caramel, you down to try that today?”
“That sounds pleasing, sure I’ll take that.”
“Okay, one hazelnut caramel!”
“Dude, I swear your cafe sells at least every pastry known to mankind. Those brownies and chocolate chip cookies look like it could make society salivatate.”
You laugh, “Thanks silly, I just experiment and make sure everyone in NYC can have a taste of home if they are from somewhere else. Sometimes I take my recipes from a past generation baking book, other times I just try baking from eyeing measurements.”
Jenna smiles at that, touching your hand with hers and pressing it down to the counter, “Well trust me, this is probably why you get a hell load of customers every morning.”
A light-hearted, non-forced, soft giggle comes from you, not moving your hand that is pressed from hers.
“As long as it makes others happy and continues a legacy while doing other things I love, and meeting sweet people that mark my memory like you, I think that I wouldn’t trade it. Did you want anything else?”
“I think that’s it today,” Jenna breathes, moving her hand away from yours. Immediately your hand misses the warmth and just wants to pull her back.
She can’t help but notice the smile plastered on your face, “Okay, hazelnut caramel coffee, on the house.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“Nuh uh, not on my watch,” Jenna insists, pulling out a 10 dollar bill and immediately you shoo her away.
“On me! Honest! I own this place anyways and it happens at least twice everyday, don’t worry about it love.”
She hears a small “aww” come from her phone and she freezes, her cheeks heating up in an instant.
“I’m paying you one day,”
“If it’s banterings and consistent times that I see you besides Tuesdays and Thursdays, then okay,” your voice echoes as you begin to prepare her latte.
Jenna smiles at you and as soon as she turns around she picks up her phone and curses into it, “What the hell Jas? How the hell did you manage to call me before I got into the shop and stalk into our conversation??”
Snorts and laughs come from the other line, she immediately plugs her earphones in.
“On the house, hmm??” Mason teases, everyone in unison going “ooh la la..”
“I’m going to chop your heads off-”
“And of course you place your hands on top of hers!! It’s like watching the corniest romance in front of my eyes!”
It had only been 5 minutes that Jenna had talked with you, and somehow she still got stuck and caught by her friends.
“Shut up,” Jenna says, her voice soft, but grumpily as she scoffs.
Melissa, Mason, and Mindy are shouting from outside, she can hear them screaming through the phone.
“Hey,” you say softly, bringing her latte with two wrapped pastries in hand and slide it to her front, “Try the brownies and cookies you were looking at and tell me what you think?”
Jenna wants to keep her cool and to smile politely, but the three crazy people outside that are listening in are making it hard. Especially with all the kissing noises she can hear, so she takes out her earbuds and tosses them in her hoodie’s pocket.
It takes her a while to realize she didn’t buy the pastries that made her hungry.
“Seriously?”
The way your cheeks curved upwards and your nose scrunched as you smiled made Jenna smile on the spot there, “Seriously,” you assured.
“I hate you for this,” she says playfully, sarcastically.
“Who can hate two free pastries? That’s a win for me,” you pull the chair out, sitting down as you take a small break, exhaling.
There was a cute cat design on the hazelnut caramel latte, the steaming, sweet bitterness scent that wafts in the air makes Jenna shiver. She plays with the wrapping of the chocolate chip cookie before mumbling a soft, “Thank you.”
“Mmmhm, no problem.”
There's a quiet pause, Jenna sips her latte, looking up at you and seeing you giggle. It’s sweet, light, bitter, and perfect.
You hand her a napkin, there's a small white foaming mustache from the creamer.
It takes a moment as she takes the napkin before you speak again, “So, filming mm? Is it stressful, you know, having to wake up early and doing stuff like that?”
“Honestly, there are days where it can be too much and I need to wind down a bit. But I love seeing cameras and doing something that I have the fortunate privilege of doing, I know a lot of people don’t have that and it makes me grateful.”
You hum in response, nodding, playing with the nape of your shirt.
“I used to want to act and direct,” you smile.
“Really? Why not now?”
Your shoulders shrug, “I still do small stuff, holding cameras, auditioning for stuff, it’s just a little harder since I’m working here and making sure I can continue doing, you know, this. But I love working here, it heals something in me.”
It makes Jenna feel almost bad, not in an overly guilty way. She just can’t fathom feeling pressured to do something instead of going the way you want.
“You have coworkers, you don’t have to be here everyday, you know?” She tilts her head.
Her eyes meet yours, and again she sees those doe eyes, with nothing but something to make her own self melt.
But I'm in so deep
You know, I'm such a fool for you
You got me wrapped around your finger
Do you have to let it linger?
“I know, sometimes I’m afraid this place will go haywire.”
She giggles at that, then thinks for a moment, “You know, I get on set tomorrow at 11, which is later than most days. Do you wanna, you know, just come and look around? The directors and producers are the sweetest people I know and they don’t mind a plus one. I would like, show you around and you can reach out to some people.”
It’s silent, your face is thoughtful as you’re processing what she said.
“I’ll stick by your side the whole time we’re not filming, introduce you to the cast, as long as you don’t do anything silly, which I highly doubt you might.”
“Okay, I’ll have to check in with Matteo, ask him to bring his sister that comes in on Saturdays and switch it to tomorrow.”
The brunette feels her heart flipping and she nods, burying her face in her hands to try and stop the redness that is invading her cheeks.
You come back soon later, beginning to talk about the plan of the coffee shop tomorrow, but Jenna gets distracted, it’s hard seeing Jasmine blowing her breath on the window, making hearts, then wiping the fog and seeing the way all her friends are making dreamy gestures to mock her. They’re all dancing and she wants to flip them off.
“I’ll be there tomorrow, could you by, um any chance, pick me up? I usually walk here and get my car repaired.”
Oh fuck, Jenna thinks, because she get’s picked up by Jasmine and tomorrow Melissa and Mason will be joining, like they do twice a week. She wants to face palm, she can almost picture the way when you make conversation with her in the car tomorrow, she’ll see in the corner of her eye Mason batting his eyelashes and sticking his tongue out.
“Sure, if you’re okay with some of my crazy friends.”
“Tomorrow it is,” you say, waving and ruffling your hair before waving and walking back to work.
Jenna looks down at her earbuds and she completely forgot she didn’t end the call, she just stashed it away, she’s bearing what is to come, putting her earbuds back in.
“SHE’S ASKING HER OUT ON A DATE” (Mason)
“NO WAY” (Jas)
“SHE’S A FOOL” (Jas)
“SHE’S GOING TO GET EMBARRASSED TOMORROW.” (Jas)
Not to mention the way they are waving their hands outside, she can almost hear the screaming from here.
“There’s no way in hell you asked this sweet pretty girl to come on set tomorrow,” Melissa sing-songs.
“Paws off,” she grumbles.
“She wants her for herself, of course.”
“Shut up!”

it was rather refreshing, to be back in your own apartment after weeks of living hotel to hotel. knowing where everything is, cooking for yourself, spending every night under your own covers. granted, after nights spent close to fernando’s side, your double bed felt much emptier than it did before.
with the summer break begun, the lack of work was leaving you with little to do. and the apartment had been sitting empty for weeks, desperate for a deep cleaning. so, clad in an old shirt and some shorts, you got to work. halfway through wiping down the entire kitchen, your phone rang, silencing the nineties hits playlist you’d had on.
hurrying over in your fluffy socks, you glanced down at the ringing screen. fernando. you hadn’t seen him since that morning lando had shown up in your hotel room. frankly, after your conversation with your brother, you fled the country as quickly as you could.
“hi,” you greeted him tentatively, after answering the call. he was quiet on the other end, your heart picking up its pace with every moment of silence.
“you left without saying goodbye,” he eventually speaks, voice monotone and heavy. you curse him mentally for being so unreadable, so plain when he wants to be.
you sigh, a finger rubbing your brow bone as you settle yourself on the couch. “i’m sorry, ‘nando.”
you weren’t sure of what else to say. you glanced at the time, ten minutes past eleven, wondering what time it was where fernando was. still in belgium? back home in spain? he wasn’t here, and that seemed to squeeze at your heart.
“so, what does this mean?” the question you had been dreading. the question you had asked yourself the whole plane ride home, and every moment since.
“i don’t know,” you murmured, truthfully. “it’s so complicated. if… if we keep this up, we’ll only get attacked. and lando will constantly be on edge — i don’t know if he could ever really accept it.”
“we could make him—” fernando begins to argue, and you can hear the frustration in his voice now.
“please, just listen.” he falls quiet and you lean back into the cushions. “i won’t be able to live knowing my brother didn’t approve. i can’t lose him, ‘nando, he’s my best friend. but…”
your lip wobbles, a tear slipping down your cheek. one you quickly wipe away, willing your emotions to get back in shape. fernando notices the shake in your breath, and his heart breaks when he realises he can’t do anything to help.
“but… the time we spent together, it was wonderful. you’ve taken my whole heart and i’ve happily let you keep it. it’s not something i want to let go of.”
“can’t we have both?” fernando asks, ready to beg you to stay. “lando will come around. and who cares about the press? we’d have each other, that’s what matters.”
“and what if it goes wrong?” you ask, almost too sharply. “what then? i can never come to a race again, because i won’t be able to face you? or we make it awkward between you and lando? he really looks up to you, fernando.”
“what could go wrong?” he asks, though he knows the answer. he knows about his own mistakes, and the reputation that came from it. but he would never dare break your heart, for it would only ruin his own.
“fernando…”
“mi amor, please…” he doesn’t care how desperate he sounds, because he is desperate. desperate to love you, to have you forever. “at least let us try.”
you consider it for a moment, you really do. torn between the possible love of your life and your baby brother, the hellish debacle of the century. but blood ran thicker than water, right?
“we never should have started this,” you brave the words, though they stab you in the process. but you know the only way to do this is to hurt him, to give him a reason to stay away. no matter how it kills you. “we can’t go on. it’s not like it ever could have worked, and you know it’s true.”
“no,” he replies firmly, holding himself together. “no, i’m not letting you go that easily.”
“i’m sorry, fernando. try and enjoy your break, okay?” you click the red end call button before he can reply, turning your phone off and sinking into the cushions, body soon racking with gentle sobs.

so im sure everyones fully well aware of the magic 8 ball site fob is using to promote a contest to win some tickets to see them in nashville. the little 8ball widget theyve got in browser is also modeled on the physical 8ball that they had in the vip merch packages for tourdust's first leg, which is cool! but of particular note is the way that, to fill out the contest form, you have to pick your favorite fall out boy songs. and the sheer breadth of what is allowed is...interesting? it's not cohesive by any means, but it is really wild the selection of songs they have here because not all of them are fob songs. in fact, quite a few of them aren't.
i went directly to the source code and got a full list of all possible songs that you could input (which you can check for yourself by right-clicking and selecting "view source"). i'm going to list them here for archival purposes, with a few notes/explanations cause some of these are WILD.
there are 187 songs total listed.
bolded songs indicate songs that are demos or never received an official release
italicized songs are songs by other bands
underlined songs indicate songs that are covers
songs with an asterisk beside them (*) indicate they are from patrick's solo catalogue. two asterisks (**) are for pete's.
additional commentary by me will be [in brackets]
20 Dollar Nose Bleed 27 7 Minutes in Heaven (Atavan Halen) 7-9 Legendary A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me" A Nice Myth [one of the earliest fall out boy demos, found on their first ep, and only the casette version at that] Allie* Alone Together Alpha Dog America's Suitehearts American Beauty/American Psycho (song) American Made Art of Keeping Up Disappearances As Long as I Know I'm Getting Paid* Austin, We Have a Problem Baby Annihilation Bad Side of 25* Bang the Doldrums Beat It Big Hype* Bishops Knife Trick Bob Dylan Bounce [this is a song that came out on then-Decaydance labelmates The Cab's debut record, Whisper War, which patrick produced. he has writing credit and also is credited with background vocals (and also shows up in the music video)] Caffeine Cold Calm Before the Storm Centuries Champagne for My Real Friends, Real Pain for My Sham Friends Champion Check Your Phone** Chicago is So Two Years Ago Church City in a Garden Coast (It's Gonna Get Better)* Coffee's for Closers Cryptozoology* Cute Girls* Cyanide** [this is a nothing, nowhere song that pete did some spoken word parts and backing vocals on] Dance Miserable* Dance, Dance Dead on Arrival Dear Future Self (Hands Up) Death Valley Deep Blue Love* [song patrick did for the indie short film "spell"] Demigods Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes Don't You Know Who I Think I Am? Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part to Save the Scene and Stop Going to Shows) Ghostbusters (I'm Not Afraid) Golden Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy Greed* Grenade Jumper Grow Up and Be Kids [this song is on The Cab's sophomore album Symphony Soldier, which release after they left decaydance. nonetheless, pete does have some writing credits on it. give it a listen and you'll hear for yourself in the first 10 seconds or so] Growing Up Hand Crushed by a Mallet [this is a remix of the 100gecs song of the same name; patrick did some vocals for it] Hand of God Have I Got a Gift for You* [song patrick did for the horror movie black friday] Headfirst Slide into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet Heartbreak Feels So Good Heaven's Gate Heaven, Iowa Hold Me Like a Grudge Hold Me Tight or Don't Homesick at Space Camp Honorable Mention Hot to the Touch, Cold on the Inside Hum Hallelujah I Am My Own Muse I Don't Care
I Got Nothing, But You Got Something [this is the one that really perplexes me. there's no evidence of this song actually existing, other than an unverified genius post and an article on a single fandom wiki. it is inexplicably listed here despite its very existence being questionable at best.]
I Slept with Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me & You) I've Been Waiting [this is technically a lil peep song with fall out boy as a feature] I've Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song) I've Got All This Ringing in My Ears and None on My Fingers Immortals Irresistible It's Hard to Say 'I Do', When I Don't It's Not a Side Effect of the Cocaine, I Am Thinking It Must Be Love Jet Pack Blues Just One Yesterday Lake Effect Kid (song) Lake Shore Drive [this is a song patrick covered on the piano at wrigley, first night of tourdust] Love from the Other Side Love Will Tear Us Apart Love, Selfish Love* Love, Sex, Death Lullabye Mad at Nothing* Miss Missing You Moving Pictures My Heart Is the Worst Kind of Weapon My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) New Dreams [this is a bonus track on pax am days, a naked rayguns cover] Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner Novocaine Of All the Gin Joints in All the World One of Those Nights [another song from the cab's whisper war. this one has patrick doing vocals very prominently] Open Happiness [this was a huge collaborative piece done for a coca cola commercial. patrick was on it along with big names like cee lo green, janelle monae, and labelmates travie mccoy and brendon urie] Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued Parker Lewis Can't Lose (But I'm Gonna Give It My Best Shot) Past Life [llamania ep] Pavlove People Never Done a Good Thing* Porcelain* Pretty in Punk Rat a Tat Reinventing the Wheel to Run Myself Over Roxanne Run Dry (X Heart X Fingers)* San Diego [this is a blink-182 song that patrick did some writing for] Saturday Saturday Night Again* Save Rock and Roll (song) Sending Postcards from a Plane Crash (Wish You Were Here) She's My Winona Short, Fast, and Loud Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers So Good Right Now So Much (For) Stardust (song) So Sick [this is a song patrick has exclusively covered live, so it's a fascinating inclusion] Sober [another blink-182 song patrick did some writing for] Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the Year Star 67 Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea Sugar, We're Goin Down Summer Days (song) [this is a martin garrix song patrick lent some vocals to] Sunshine Riptide Super Fade Switchblades and Infidelity Tell That Mick He Just Made My List of Things to Do Today The "I" In Lie* The (After) Life of the Party The (Shipped) Gold Standard The Carpal Tunnel of Love The Kids Aren't Alright The Kintsugi Kid (Ten Years) The Last of the Real Ones The Mighty Fall The Music or the Misery The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes The Phoenix The Pink Seashell The Pros and Cons of Breathing The Take Over, the Breaks Over The World's Not Waiting (For Five Tired Boys in a Broken Down Van) This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race This City* Thnks fr th Mmrs (song) [for some reason the site specifies song here, despite that not being necessary. the only other times this distinction is relevant is when songs share a title with their albums, i.e. save rock and roll] Thriller Tiffany Blews Twin Skeleton's (Hotel in NYC) Uma Thurman Untitled 1 (Colorado Song) Untitled 2 (Jakus Song) [both of these are recently released tttyg era demos] W.A.M.S. We Didn't Start the Fire We Don’t Take Hits, We Write Them [this is a song that famously was only ever performed live. we don't have a studio recording or even a demo, as only live versions exist] We Were Doomed from the Start (The King is Dead) West Coast Smoker What a Catch, Donnie What a Time To Be Alive What's This? When I Made You Cry* Where Did the Party Go Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) Wrong Side of Paradise [llamania ep] XO You're Crashing, But You're No Wave Young and Menace Young Volcanoes Yule Shoot Your Eye Out
in conclusion i have no idea who compiled this list. it doesn't include every song patrick and pete have ever touched (notice the lack of gym class heroes, cobra starship, and hush sound discography) but it has a really weird selection of songs. i mean, blink songs patrick wrote on?? its bizarre.
anyway do you think if we mass request swing me by the rafters they'll have to do it
#fall out boy#tourdust#*making poasts#trying to format this conventionally BROKE THE POST so i did my best#i burned my grilt cheese typing all this up pls appreciate it#the weird break in the middle is cause otherwise it wouldnt post. mea culpa.

Prisoner (Part 3; FINALE)
Set: Middle of season 1 to beginning of season 2
Pairing: (kind of) Aemond Targaryen x Velaryon female!reader, (platonic) overprotective!Jacaerys Velaryon x Velaryon female!reader
Warnings: typical westori violence, curse words/spoilers for both seasons but especially season 2, everyone being absolutely stupid, conversations about characters that were offed, major character death, talks of forced marriage, being made prisoner, bruises, scrapes, minor talk about weight and not eating
Plot: One of Viserys Targaryen’s final wishes was to see them married. To please him, Rhaenyra allowed her daughter to stay in the Red Keep alone, not knowing it would be a terrible mistake.
(Part 1) ; (Part 2)
“Get up!”
A rough voice boomed through the quiet chamber. You jolted awake, disoriented. As you tried to rub your eyes, you saw multiple Kingsguards entering in haste. “What’s happening?” Instead of answering, the knight grabbed your arm and dragged you out of bed. “What is the meaning of this? You’re hurting me!”
They rushed you to the Throne Room, and without a second thought, the knight pushed you, prompting you to fall to your knees, grimacing at the sting of the cold floor.
“You!” You lifted your head and saw Aegon. “This was your doing!”
You furrowed your brows in confusion, looking at Alicent and Otto, who stood next to Aegon. “I-I have no-”
“You killed my son,” Aegon growled, unsheathing his sword and pointing it at you. “You had him murdered in cold blood. Now I will do the same to you.”
“I would never hurt Jaehaerys,” You managed to say before Aegon took a step toward you.
“Son…” Alicent warned, noticing your appearance. Your skin was gray and lifeless, cheeks sunken, and eyes red.
“Perhaps we should let her speak,” Otto suggested, motioning for you to continue.
“I do not know what you’re talking about. I have been in my chambers all day, the one I have been locked in,” you reminded him.
“Liar. You did this as revenge because we are keeping you here.”
“Your Grace,” Lord Jasper interrupted, “the princess has not been seen leaving her chambers. There are guards in front of the door at all times.”
Deep down, Alicent knew you were innocent. You could not have done something like this.
“Take her away,” Aegon ordered the Kingsguard, annoyed. The knight grabbed your arm and pulled you up, dragging you from the room. Your whines of pain echoed through the hall.
---
“My daughter sits captive in the Red Keep. Did you consider her while you schemed for revenge?” Rhaenyra interrogated Daemon.
He sat there, rather annoyed. “Yes. Unfortunately, I could not get her myself.”
“Did you think it would be easier to rescue her while they dealt with a dead child?”
“At least I did something,” Daemon argued back. “What have you done? You left for days, searching for Luke, while she remained a prisoner in King’s Landing after you decided to leave her there, unprotected and surrounded by our enemies. Why not ask Rhaenys or Ser Erryk why they left her behind?”
Rhaenyra scoffed, “How dare you.”
“She is also my daughter,” Daemon reminded her, “and I will stop at nothing to bring her back to Dragonstone.”
Jacaerys stood outside the chambers, listening to their argument. The guilt felt asphyxiating. His brother was gone because he volunteered them as envoys. His sister was a prisoner because he did not fight hard enough to make her leave with them after dinner.
“I cannot trust you, Daemon,” he heard Rhaenyra say. “You sent two assassins to slay a child. How can I trust you with her safety?”
At that moment, Jace made a decision. He would go to King’s Landing to bring her back.
He sped through the castle, gripping the hilt of his sword. Vermax would have to stay behind if Vhagar was guarding the city; he could not risk losing his dragon. If he did, his mother’s side would lose a valuable asset, and his sister would also suffer.
Jacaerys ran down the stairs, seeing a Velaryon ship in the harbor. Surely, someone on it would help him reach King’s Landing by nightfall. He saw many knights and servants walking up the path. More allies, he thought.
A weak grip on his arm stopped him.
His heart beat erratically as he recognized the person in front of him.
“Sister,” Jace gasped, his eyes darkening at your state. “What did they do to you?” He softly caressed your cheek.
Jacaerys hastily lifted you, not entirely convinced you could walk up to the castle on your own. You laid your head on his chest, tears of relief flowing down your cheeks. You were finally home.
“Your Grace!” Elinda, Rhaenyra’s loyal handmaiden, called out. “The princess has returned.”
Rhaenyra stumbled into your chambers, seeing Maester Gerardys tending to you. “My sweet girl.”
“Mother,” you whined.
“How is she?” Daemon asked.
“There are no notable injuries, apart from a bruised arm and scraped knees. She has noticeable weight loss. I will prepare a remedy for the princess myself,” Gerardys bowed and exited in haste.
Rhaenyra made her way to the bed, sitting next to you and cradling your face. “I am so sorry.”
You closed her eyes, happy to feel your mother’s warm and soft hands. “There’s nothing to forgive.”
“I wanted to return to King’s Landing,” Rhaenyra assured you. “But some things happened here, forcing me to stay.”
Jace stood at the foot of the bed, while Daemon stood next to Rhaenyra. “How did you get out of the Keep?”
“A man helped me,” you informed them, furrowing your brows.
After being forcefully taken to and from the throne room, you sat at the edge of your bed, wondering what had happened to Prince Jaehaerys.
The door burst open, startling you. “Come on, Princess. We need to hurry.”
It was a strange man, someone you hadn’t met before. “Who ar—”
“We do not have much time,” he urged. “Prince Daemon sent me. Put on this cloak.”
You perked up at the mention of your stepfather. Ignoring the ache in your bones and stomach, you got off the bed and put on the cloak.
You ran out of the living quarters, moving through hidden passages. Before you realized it, you were outside the Keep. The man stopped, not too far from the castle, to meet with someone else. “Are you sure this is her?”
“Yes. Go on, get out of the city.”
“Come, princess.”
As you reached a small boat away from the harbor, you noticed the man was carrying a sack... a leaking sack. “What is that?, you questioned him, but he did not provide an answer. “What. Is. That?”
“Nothing,” the man hissed, holding the sack tighter.
“It’s leaking,” you informed him.
“Be quiet.”
You sat on the boat next to a sailor. As the man was about to get on, Gold Cloaks stopped him. They ripped the sack from his hand and opened it. Screams echoed through the night, and swords were pointed at him.
The sailor began rowing, wanting to get some distance before they noticed who you were. The knights grabbed the man, paying no attention to the boat. Your heart sank as you realized what was in the sack.
“Was it your doing?” You asked Rhaenyra.
“It was an accident,” Daemon replied instead. “I instructed them to find Aemond, not Jaehaerys.”
“Did they hurt you?” Jace murmured, and you shook her head.
“A Kingsguard held my arm tightly when Aegon demanded to see me, that’s the reason for my bruises,” you admitted. “I was locked in my quarters. I only saw a maid and Alicent. She… she told me about Luke.”
At the Red Keep, Aemond had decided it was time to finally face his future wife. But his plan was spoiled.
You were gone.
“How did that bitch princess leave? Where was the knight in charge of her?” Aegon fumed at the continued lack of security.
Aemond, however, was furious. In a fit of rage, he destroyed everything in his path.
You were supposed to stay there, forever, with him. He regretted not having you confined in Maegor’s Holdfast.
All he wished to do was fly to Dragonstone and have Vhagar burn it to the ground. But now, he’d have to be strategic about how to get you back to his side.

30 Things To Make Life Unforgettable
Appreciating life is one of the things I´ve learned this year, small things, happy moments... All of them are valuable for who we are as well as who we will become. However, we are not conscious of what we have, all the feellings we are experimenting and the opportunities we are losing for doing other things (such as being on our phones 5+ hours). I hope this list helps you making life a little bit simpler.
Walking in the rain. In my city rains a lot, so I´m not going to propose you going to the beach, since I can´t (obv you can do it), we have to adapt ourselves to what we have, and rain is one of my favourite things, I used to hate it when I was younger tho.
Spend your day in a cozy cafe. Not only can you have a coffee, but you can also read, study and be productive. The bes part is that you are experimenting new things, being productive and having fun with a hot coffe/tea.
Put your phone away. Be present babe, this is all what we have, you want to live your life, don´t you? Then start doing it, of course you are not going to live advemtures everyday, but at least you can try it. :)
Learn new things. It will never be a waste of time knowledge.
Be more passionate and intense. Who cares if you are too much? It only matters what YOU want.
Trying new recipees. I didn´t use to be a big fan of cooking, but I tried it few months ago, and let me tell you, all I do naw are bisquits for people I care.
More museums, more art gallery. I´ve always wanted to give mysterious girl vibes (I´m a yapper but introverted at the same time) you can always try reading in a museum.
"For the plot" mindset. My friends and I sometimes play saying yes to almost everything, just to see hwo things develop. It´s very fun:)
Bucketlisting. In a world of consumerism no one can scape
Trying something new. I started dancing, and I feel so energetic.
Learning to be alone. I do have a post about it :) go check it after this one.
Candle+Sweater=Coziness. Scented candles, my bff in autumn/winter.
Book annotating. It helps focusing, you can go through your notes after it and in my opinion creates more powerful bonds with the story and you.
Old classic books. Culture girls are the hottest.
Cooking your own meals. It's such a simple and sweet act of self-care. You can also try making your own Jam or something.
Doing things that you enjoyed as a child. My favorites are horse riding, swimming, baking, and bubble baths.
Buying flowers for yourself. It doesn't have to be an expensive and fancy bouquet, just some pretty flowers for your room.
Doing your nails. I like red wine ones, makes me feel like a vampire!
Taking more Photos. You can also buy a cool vintage camera (I recommend looking on eBay!) to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
Trying crochet, knitting, or sewing. I'm trying to crochet a sweater for my dog right now, haha.
Planting a plant. I tried to plant an avocado, but it didn´t grow as i expected, although i´ll keep trying it
Making plans with your friends like going on a picnic. You could plan some themed picnics like cottagecore, homemade food from your culture, strawberries, and so on; also a great opportunity to take some pictures!
Do volunteer work. Tried it last year, it was so fun to learn new skills and meeting new people while trying to make world better.
Writing a diary. Writing down things that have happened and looking back at them feels really lovely to me.
Writing letters to your friends. Letters just feel more personal than text; you can also keep them as a memory.
Dressing in a way that makes you feel happy. Wearing outfits that make you feel confident will definitely make life better.
Petting stray cats. I love cats.
Starting to collect something. You could collect something small like jewelry or postcards!
Playing music in the background while doing stuff. I can't stop listening to the lofi girl stream on youtube, haha.
Going on gloomy walks in the Forrest. Name something more comforting. I will wait.
Please feel free to add more suggestions in the comments! <3

One crisp autumn afternoon, you're busy in the kitchen, listening to the soft hum of the city outside, while Lily is sitting at the table with her latest science project: a DIY volcano, complete with baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring. Tony’s somewhere in the penthouse, tinkering in the lab or wrapping up a call. This is your routine now—a life filled with laughter, tinkering, and little family moments that feel so natural it’s hard to remember a time when it wasn’t like this.
You watch Lily, trying to focus on measuring the baking soda without spilling it everywhere, her tongue poking out in concentration. She glances at you, her eyes sparkling with the excitement of a secret only she knows. It’s been like this all week—your daughter keeps sending you these knowing looks, barely able to contain whatever she’s hiding. She’s never been one for secrets, so it’s impressive that she’s kept it in this long.
“Mommy, can I add the vinegar now?” she asks, her voice just a little higher than usual, like she's bursting to say something else.
“Go for it, kiddo. Just a little bit at first, okay?” you reply, smiling at her enthusiasm. But before you can finish your sentence, Lily dumps the entire cup of vinegar in. The mixture foams up instantly, spilling over the sides of the bottle and flooding the tray in an eruption of bright red froth. Lily squeals in delight, clapping her hands, and you can't help but laugh with her.
Tony appears in the doorway, a curious smile on his face as he leans against the frame, arms crossed. “What’s going on here? More science experiments?” He winks at you, then focuses on Lily, who beams up at him, clearly holding in that same mysterious excitement.
“It was a big one!” Lily says proudly, pointing at the volcano. Tony steps forward, giving her an impressed nod and a fist bump that makes her giggle.
He straightens up, then gives you that look—the one that says he’s about to say something mischievous. “So, I’ve got a surprise for the two of you,” he says, his tone casual but his eyes bright with something more. “I thought it might be time for a family day out.”
You raise an eyebrow, intrigued. “A family day?”
“Yeah,” he replies, sounding perfectly innocent. “Just the three of us. I booked a place upstate. Thought we could get some fresh air, do something different.”
You give him a skeptical look, but Lily's practically bouncing in her seat, a bundle of barely contained excitement. “Yes, please! Can we go, Mommy?”
The enthusiasm in her voice is infectious. “Alright, alright,” you say, trying not to laugh at her obvious joy. “But Tony,” you add, giving him a look, “no suits, no AI, no tech distractions.”
He raises his hands, giving you a look of feigned innocence. “You have my word. Just a simple day with the two of you.”
That’s how you find yourself driving out of the city early the next morning, Tony at the wheel and Lily chattering happily in the backseat, her eyes glued to the landscape speeding by. It’s strange seeing him like this—just a man taking his family for a weekend getaway. It’s all so normal, yet it fills you with a warmth that’s hard to put into words.
You reach the cabin as the sun is high in the sky, casting golden light over the rustic wooden lodge nestled at the edge of a lake. The leaves are in full autumn splendor, a mix of fiery reds, deep oranges, and vibrant yellows that make everything look like it’s been painted by some master artist. Lily hops out of the car the moment it stops, rushing to explore, her delighted giggles echoing through the trees.
You and Tony watch her, both smiling, before he takes your hand. “Come on,” he says, guiding you towards the cabin. Inside, it’s cozy and inviting, with a large fireplace in the living room and big windows that let in the afternoon sunlight. It feels like the kind of place people dream of running away to.
The day passes in a blur of simple pleasures—roasting marshmallows, skipping stones with Lily on the lake, Tony’s arm around your shoulders as you laugh together. It feels like a perfect slice of life, something out of a story. And yet, there's something more simmering beneath the surface, a tension in Tony’s eyes that’s both thrilling and a little nerve-wracking. It feels like he's building up to something, but you're not sure what.
That evening, after Lily’s fallen asleep in one of the cabin’s cozy beds, you and Tony step outside to the porch, the stars bright above you in the clear, crisp night. You pull your sweater tighter around you, and Tony wraps an arm around your shoulders, his warmth comforting against the cool night air.
“This has been perfect,” you say softly, leaning into him.
Tony glances down at you, his expression unreadable for a moment, before he smiles, a softness in his eyes that makes your heart skip a beat. “It’s only going to get better,” he murmurs, and there’s that same glint of mischief in his eyes.
You raise an eyebrow, curious, but before you can ask, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out… a rock. Not just any rock, though—it’s painted with bright colors, a swirl of blues and greens with glitter sprinkled on top. In the middle is a heart, painstakingly painted in red.
Your eyes widen as you look at it. “Did… did you make this?”
Tony chuckles. “Let’s just say I had some help.” He glances towards the cabin where Lily is asleep, his face softening. “She insisted I do it right. No shortcuts, no tech. Just… paint and a lot of patience.”
You laugh, turning the rock over in your hands, admiring the effort. “Well, it’s beautiful,” you say, touched. “But I don’t understand—”
Before you can finish, Tony takes your hand, guiding you down the porch steps and towards the edge of the lake, the painted rock still in your hand. He stops by the water, looking out over the calm, moonlit surface. Then he turns to face you, taking both your hands in his, his gaze intense.
“I know I haven’t exactly been the picture of stability,” he begins, his voice quiet but steady. “And I know that you and Lily are a package deal—the two most important people in my life now.” His thumb brushes over your knuckles, a small, comforting gesture. “You both mean more to me than anything else ever has.”
Your heart is racing now, and you can feel the warmth in your cheeks as he takes a deep breath, his eyes never leaving yours.
“I love you,” he says, his voice full of sincerity. “I love you and Lily more than I thought I was capable of loving anyone.” He pauses, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “And I want to be there for both of you. Always.”
It’s only then that he reaches into his jacket pocket, pulling out a small, velvet box. He opens it to reveal a ring—a delicate band with a single, radiant diamond, glittering under the moonlight.
Your breath catches, your eyes wide as he lowers himself onto one knee, still holding your hand. He looks up at you, his expression vulnerable in a way you’ve rarely seen before. “Will you marry me?”
The words hang in the air, beautiful and surreal, and for a moment you can only stare, your mind struggling to process the enormity of this moment. But then everything clicks into place—all the little moments, the shared laughter, the quiet talks on the balcony, the nights spent watching over Lily together. You realize that you’ve already made your choice. You made it a long time ago, the moment you let him into your life, into Lily’s life.
“Yes,” you whisper, your voice barely audible over the gentle lapping of the water. “Yes, Tony. A thousand times, yes.”
A huge grin breaks across his face as he slips the ring onto your finger, his hands warm and steady. And then he’s standing, pulling you into his arms, kissing you like it’s the first time all over again.
When you finally pull back, a familiar giggle breaks the silence, and you turn to see Lily standing on the porch, her little face lit up with a smile so wide it could rival the moon.
“I kept the secret, Mommy!” she exclaims proudly, rushing over to throw her arms around both of you. Tony scoops her up, laughing, and you can’t help but join in, the three of you caught in a bubble of happiness that feels like it will never burst.
You sit by the lake for a while longer, the three of you huddled together under a blanket, watching the stars. Lily falls asleep in Tony’s arms, her small hand still clutching the painted rock. As you lean your head on Tony’s shoulder, feeling the warmth of him, the softness of the ring on your finger, you realize that you have everything you’ve ever wanted right here.
You look up at him, your heart full. “So, when did you know you wanted this?” you ask quietly, your voice barely a whisper.
He glances down at you, a small smile playing on his lips. “I think I’ve known for a while. But watching you and Lily, seeing the way you both just… fit into my life, like you were always meant to be there—that sealed it.”
You smile, your fingers lacing through his. “I think we were always meant to find each other.”
And as you sit there, wrapped in each other’s warmth, the world feels impossibly perfect. This is your family, your home, and you know, without a doubt, that you’ll hold onto this moment forever.
The weeks following your engagement pass in a flurry of plans, decisions, and endless little tasks, each one building toward the day that’s slowly starting to feel real: your wedding day. Tony, true to his style, has big ideas—ideas involving grand venues, designer dresses, and enough food to feed half of New York. But amidst all his extravagant visions, there’s one more excited than anyone else about every detail: Lily.
From the very first morning after Tony proposes, Lily becomes a self-appointed wedding expert. She’s up before the sun, sitting at the breakfast table with her favorite colored markers and a notebook, declaring her “wedding checklist” in all caps across the top of the page. She’s drawing flowers, dresses, cakes, and even seating plans (although, granted, her seating chart just shows her sitting next to everyone important).
“Mommy,” she says, pushing her notebook across the table, “we have to pick a cake first! That’s the most important part.”
Tony, sipping his coffee, nods gravely as if she’s made the most profound statement ever. “She’s got a point. Cake is a critical component.”
You laugh, reaching for her notebook. “Alright, cake first. But it’ll have to be something both of you like.”
“I like chocolate and strawberry!” she exclaims, her eyes bright.
“Noted,” Tony says, sliding his phone over and already searching for bakeries that specialize in grand wedding cakes. And just like that, it’s the first official wedding decision: a cake tasting with Lily front and center.
When the day of the cake tasting finally arrives, Lily comes along dressed in her favorite fancy dress—a soft pink number with a glittery belt. She drags both of you up to each cake display, pointing out all her favorites and reminding you multiple times which flavors she’s “approved.” The bakery owner, clearly smitten with her, lets her try samples of nearly every flavor on display. By the time you leave, Lily has a chocolate-stained grin and declares herself “very full, but still ready for more wedding stuff.”
Over the next few weeks, Lily’s enthusiasm for every aspect of the wedding grows exponentially. She wants to help choose the flowers, eagerly pointing out her favorites at each meeting. At the florist, she insists on showing you bouquets with big, vibrant blooms, which Tony, ever the doting soon-to-be dad, immediately insists on adding to the order. “If Lily wants them, we’ll make it work,” he says with a shrug, sending you a playful wink.
Then there’s the dress. Your gown shopping trip is a dream come true for Lily, who’s absolutely certain that her opinion is critical to finding the perfect dress. She examines each option with a serious expression, giving a small nod or a big “no” depending on her reaction. When you finally try on a gown with intricate lace details and a long, flowing train, her eyes widen, and she lets out a gasp. “Mommy! You look like a princess!”
You catch Tony’s reflection in the mirror as he stands off to the side, watching you with that unmistakable softness in his eyes. You can see him mouthing “wow” under his breath, and when you meet his gaze, there’s an unspoken promise in it—a promise of all the beautiful moments still ahead.
Lily, ever-dedicated to her role as wedding planner, also insists on helping with her own dress selection. You take her shopping for a junior bridesmaid dress, and after trying on several options, she settles on a beautiful white dress with a tulle skirt and a satin bow. She twirls in it, giggling and watching her reflection as if she, too, were preparing for her wedding day.
On the way home, she leans forward from the back seat, grinning at Tony. “Daddy, can I be in charge of the ring?”
Tony, glancing at you with a smile, nods. “You can be our official ring bearer and junior wedding coordinator. Think you’re up for the task?”
“Yup!” she says proudly. “I’ll be really careful!”
When the day of the wedding finally arrives, it’s everything you’d imagined and more—no detail spared, every element touched by Tony’s love of elegance and, of course, a bit of grandiosity. You’d agreed on a sprawling estate just outside the city, surrounded by gardens that are in full bloom, bathed in soft, golden sunlight that feels almost magical. Massive floral arrangements of white roses, lilies, and peonies line the aisle, creating a soft, enchanting fragrance that wafts gently in the breeze.
Lily’s eyes are wide with awe as she takes in the setting. She holds your hand tightly, her face a mixture of pride and excitement. She knows every part of the ceremony by heart, from when she’s supposed to walk down the aisle to where she’ll stand by your side. She’s practically vibrating with excitement, her eyes darting around as she tries to soak in every little detail of the day she helped plan.
As you prepare in the bridal suite, Lily stands by your side, admiring every part of your look with the utmost seriousness. She makes tiny adjustments to your veil and whispers, “You look perfect, Mommy.” Her sincerity nearly brings tears to your eyes, and you have to take a deep breath to keep from getting misty-eyed.
Meanwhile, outside, Tony has pulled out all the stops, sparing no expense on the venue, catering, or décor. There’s a sprawling tent set up with chandeliers, elegant table settings with custom menus, and an orchestra softly playing classical music. It’s grand and beautiful, yet somehow intimate, as if every detail has been chosen with you in mind.
As the ceremony begins, Lily leads the way down the aisle, clutching the satin ring pillow with utmost concentration, her face solemn as she carefully makes her way to the front. When she reaches Tony, she gives him a small, proud nod, and he grins, giving her a quick thumbs-up before his attention shifts to the end of the aisle, where you’ve just stepped into view.
The moment he sees you, his expression softens, and he gazes at you like you’re the only person in the world. You feel your heart flutter, the same excitement and nervousness filling you as when you first met. You walk toward him, every step bringing you closer to the future you’ve both dreamed of, and when you reach him, he takes your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
The ceremony itself is beautiful, filled with words of love and promises that feel like they’ve been waiting forever to be spoken. When it’s time for the vows, Tony’s voice is steady, but there’s a slight quiver of emotion as he speaks. “I knew from the moment I met you that you’d change my life,” he begins, his eyes never leaving yours. “But I didn’t realize just how much you and Lily would become my life.”
His gaze shifts briefly to Lily, who’s standing beside you, watching him with wide eyes. “You’ve shown me a happiness I never thought I’d find, a family I didn’t even know I was looking for. I promise to love you both, to be there for you in every way, and to make our family my everything.”
The rest of his words blur in your mind as tears prick at your eyes, but you hold onto the warmth in his voice, the steady assurance in his touch.
When it’s your turn, you can barely get through the first few words before emotion chokes your voice. You promise to stand by him, to love him and cherish every moment with him and Lily. Your heart is so full, and every word feels like a vow not just to him, but to the life you’re building together.
Lily, watching you both, beams with pride as she hands over the rings with all the seriousness she can muster, her eyes shining as she watches her parents exchange them.
The moment the officiant pronounces you married, Tony pulls you into a kiss that’s filled with every unspoken feeling he’s held back, and as you part, there’s only happiness reflected in his eyes. The guests cheer, Lily lets out a delighted squeal, and you realize that this is everything you’d ever dreamed of.
The reception is a spectacular affair. The grand tent glows with hundreds of softly twinkling fairy lights, the tables are adorned with crystal and silk, and the food is decadent, the kind of feast fit for royalty. But through it all, the heart of the evening is your family. Tony makes a toast, his arm around your shoulders as he thanks everyone for being there and dedicates the night to you and Lily.
As the night goes on, you find yourself wrapped in Tony’s arms, watching as Lily flits around, entertained by guests and other children, her energy boundless.
“You know,” he murmurs, pulling you closer, “I don’t think I ever really understood what happiness could be until I met you. And now I have you, Lily, and this perfect life.”
You smile, reaching up to brush a hand along his cheek. “Well, Mr. Stark, you’ve officially made it a day we’ll never forget.”
Tony grins, leaning down to kiss you softly. “Here’s to a lifetime of them.”
And as you look around, at the friends and family gathered, the joy on Lily’s face, and the love in Tony’s eyes, you know that this is only the beginning.
A few months after the wedding, life settles into a rhythm that feels both new and wonderfully familiar. Tony has embraced every part of his role as a father, from helping Lily with her bedtime routine to planning weekend family outings. His love for her is fierce and unwavering, and you can see that she’s become the center of his world, just as much as you have. Lily’s adoration for him is just as strong, and in her eyes, Tony is already her father in every way that counts.
One evening, while you and Lily are going through her nightly bedtime ritual, an idea takes shape in your mind. You realize that making things official—having Tony formally adopt Lily as his daughter—could be a beautiful way to solidify the bond that already exists between them. But you also know this is something Lily should be involved in. After all, this is about her, too.
As you tuck her into bed, you bring up the idea gently, knowing that it might be a lot for her to process.
“Lily,” you begin softly, sitting on the edge of her bed and brushing a strand of hair from her face, “do you know what it means for someone to be adopted?”
She scrunches her nose, thinking hard. “It’s like…when someone gets to be in a family forever, right?”
You nod, smiling at her understanding. “That’s right, sweetheart. And I was thinking… what if Tony adopted you? That would make him your dad in every way—not just because he loves you like a daddy, but because it would be official, too.”
Lily tilts her head, her brows furrowing as she considers this. For a moment, she looks a little confused, as if the idea doesn’t quite make sense to her.
“But…he already is my daddy,” she says slowly, her eyes wide and questioning. “Why do we have to do anything special for that?”
You feel a pang of emotion, touched by her innocent view of family. To her, Tony’s love is already real and true, and a piece of paper could never define that. But you explain it as simply as you can, trying to help her see the gesture as an opportunity.
“It’s a way to show him that he’s your dad forever and always,” you say, smiling. “It’s something you can both look back on one day, and he’ll know how much you wanted him to be your daddy, too.”
Understanding seems to dawn on her face, and her eyes light up with excitement. “So… I get to ask him if he’ll be my real dad?”
“Yes,” you reply, your heart swelling. “If you want to, you can ask him. And maybe it could be a surprise?”
Her face breaks into a huge grin, and she claps her hands softly, clearly thrilled by the idea. “Yes! I want to surprise him!”
You watch as her mind races, her little fingers tapping against her blanket as she plans. “I want to make a card!” she exclaims suddenly, her voice bubbling with excitement. “I’ll draw me and Daddy, and I’ll ask him to be my dad forever!”
Her enthusiasm is contagious, and the next morning, she’s up with the sun, already digging out her art supplies and getting to work on her surprise. For the next few days, she’s laser-focused on the project, sneaking off to her room with markers and colored pencils, chattering to you about all the details she’s adding. She asks for help spelling words but insists on keeping her drawing a surprise, telling you that it has to be “just right” for Tony.
Finally, his birthday arrives. It’s a cozy evening celebration at home, with Lily helping you prepare a cake and hang up a few decorations. She can barely sit still during dinner, her eyes darting to the gift she’s hidden carefully behind a chair. When Tony finally opens his presents, she waits until the very end, watching with bated breath until it’s time to give him her card.
“Daddy,” she says, her voice filled with both excitement and a hint of nervousness, “I have a special present for you.”
Tony’s eyes light up with curiosity as she hands him the card, carefully crafted with crayon illustrations of stick-figure versions of the three of you, all holding hands. At the top, in her best handwriting, she’s written, “For my Daddy, Forever.”
He opens the card, and his eyes move over her drawing, then to the note she’s carefully written beneath it.
“Dear Daddy, will you please adopt me so I can be your real daughter forever? I love you so much. Love, Lily.”
There’s a quiet moment as he processes her words, his face shifting from surprise to understanding, and finally to deep, overwhelming emotion. His breath catches, and his hand comes up to cover his mouth as he fights to keep his composure. But his eyes shine with unshed tears, and as he reads her words again, a single tear slips down his cheek.
He sets the card down carefully and looks at Lily, his voice unsteady but filled with warmth. “You really want me to be your dad?”
She nods, her eyes bright and hopeful. “Yes! I want to be your real daughter, Daddy. Forever.”
He pulls her into his arms, holding her close, his voice thick with emotion as he whispers, “You have no idea how much this means to me, sweetheart. You’re my daughter, and you always will be.”
She squeezes him tightly, her little arms wrapped around his neck as she buries her face in his shoulder. Tony’s eyes meet yours over her shoulder, and there’s a depth of gratitude and love in his gaze that takes your breath away. In that moment, you see the man you fell in love with, the man who has become a father in every way that counts.
Finally, he pulls back, brushing a hand gently over her hair. “Thank you, Lily,” he says softly. “Thank you for choosing me to be your dad.”
She giggles, wiping a tear from his cheek with her little hand. “Now you’re a real daddy! And we’re a real family forever!”
Tony chuckles, pulling her close again, and you join them, wrapping your arms around both of them as you sit together, feeling the weight of the moment settle around you in the best way possible. You’re a family—one built on love, trust, and a bond that goes far beyond words or papers. And as you sit there, all three of you wrapped in each other’s arms, you know that this moment, this promise, is something you’ll cherish forever.
Later that night, when Lily’s asleep, Tony holds the card in his hands again, tracing over her words with a soft, almost reverent touch. He glances up at you, his voice still hushed with emotion. “I didn’t think I could love her any more than I already did,” he whispers, his eyes glistening. “But knowing that she chose me…I don’t think I’ve ever felt anything like this.”
You reach for his hand, intertwining your fingers with his. “You’ve given her so much, Tony. She feels safe, loved…like she finally belongs. And that’s because of you.”
He looks down, his smile soft but filled with the quiet strength that defines him. “I may not have known what I was missing before,” he murmurs, pulling you close, “but now I do. And I wouldn’t trade this for anything.”
As he kisses you softly, his hand resting on the card, you know that this journey, the one that started with a small family and a big love, is only just beginning. And together, you’re ready for every beautiful, imperfect, incredible moment still to come.
As you sit together in the soft glow of the dimmed lights, the quiet hum of night settling around you, Tony’s eyes stay fixed on you. He still holds Lily’s card gently in his hands, his thumb brushing over the childishly scrawled words, but his gaze is on you—filled with a depth of love and gratitude that wraps around you like a warm embrace.
Slowly, he places the card on the table beside him, and without breaking eye contact, he pulls you onto his lap, his hands warm as they rest on your hips. The quiet of the house feels heavy, intimate, filled with the unspoken emotions that tonight has stirred between you.
“Thank you,” he murmurs, his voice soft, the words laced with a warmth that makes your heart flutter. “For letting me be part of this. For making me feel like…like I belong.”
You cup his face, your thumb grazing over the line of his jaw as you tilt his face up to meet yours. “You’re more than just a part of it, Tony. You are it. You and Lily—you’re my family.”
There’s a heat that flares in his gaze as you speak, a spark that kindles something deeper, something that has simmered beneath the surface, fed by months of tenderness, laughter, and every precious moment you’ve shared together. His fingers tighten on your hips, pulling you closer, and before you know it, his lips are on yours—warm, insistent, and filled with a passion that leaves you breathless.
The kiss deepens, his hand sliding up to the back of your neck, holding you close as his other arm wraps around your waist. You melt into him, feeling the familiar strength of his body beneath yours, the way he grounds you, makes you feel cherished, wanted. The air between you thickens, each kiss growing more fervent, each touch more urgent. It’s as though he’s trying to pour all the gratitude, the love, the overwhelming devotion he feels into this moment, and you can feel yourself responding, matching his intensity with every beat of your heart.
The quiet of the house fades into the background as he lifts you, carrying you to the bedroom with a confidence and ease that makes you feel weightless. You can’t help but laugh, breathless and giddy, as he sets you down, his mouth finding yours again before you can even catch your breath. The room fills with the sounds of whispered promises and shared laughter, of murmured declarations that leave no doubt about how much he loves you, how deeply he’s committed to this life you’ve built together.
And as the night fades into the early hours of morning, you find yourselves wrapped in each other’s arms, drifting into sleep with a sense of peace and fulfillment that feels as natural as breathing.
A few months pass, filled with the easy rhythm of family life. Tony continues to be an incredible father to Lily, and each day brings you closer as a family. But lately, you’ve been feeling…different. A certain tiredness lingers, and you’ve noticed small changes, ones that you haven’t quite been able to explain. And then one day, it hits you.
You buy a test, waiting anxiously until you see the result that confirms what your heart already suspected—you’re pregnant.
The realization floods you with a blend of emotions, joy and disbelief mixing into a giddy, breathless excitement. You can hardly wait to tell Tony, and you spend the rest of the day trying to figure out the perfect way to share the news.
That evening, when Lily has gone to bed, you find Tony in the kitchen, unwinding with a glass of wine. He smiles as you enter, setting his glass down and reaching for you with a warm familiarity that still makes your heart skip a beat.
“There’s my beautiful wife,” he says, pulling you into a hug. “You looked deep in thought earlier. Everything alright?”
You take his hand, guiding him to sit with you at the table, the same spot where he read Lily’s card just months ago. His gaze turns curious, and you see the soft crease between his brows as he studies your face, sensing something important.
“Tony,” you say, your voice a little shaky with excitement, “there’s something I need to tell you.”
He sits up a little straighter, his eyes filled with gentle concern. “What is it?”
You reach for his hand, squeezing it tightly as you look into his eyes. “I’m pregnant.”
There’s a moment of stunned silence as he processes your words, his face shifting from surprise to dawning comprehension. His eyes widen, and then a look of pure, unrestrained joy spreads across his face. He lets out a soft laugh, his hand moving to cradle your face, his thumb brushing tenderly across your cheek.
“You’re serious?” he whispers, his voice choked with emotion. “We’re going to have a baby?”
You nod, tears prickling at the corners of your eyes as you see the happiness radiating from him. “Yes, we are.”
He pulls you into his arms, holding you tightly as he buries his face in your shoulder. You can feel the slight tremor in his hands, the unspoken gratitude in his embrace. When he finally pulls back, his eyes are bright with unshed tears, his smile one of pure, unfiltered joy.
“We’re going to have a baby,” he repeats, as though he’s trying to wrap his mind around the words. “A baby. With you.”
You laugh, leaning into him as he wraps his arms around you once more. “Yes. And I can’t think of anyone I’d rather do this with.”
For the rest of the evening, he can’t stop smiling, can’t stop looking at you with that look of wonder, as though he’s witnessing a miracle. And it doesn’t take long before he’s talking about baby names, already picturing what this little one will be like, how they’ll fit into the family you’ve created.
A few days later, you and Tony decide it’s time to tell Lily. You’re sitting with her in the living room, surrounded by her favorite stuffed animals, when Tony clears his throat, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
“Lily,” he begins, his tone soft and warm, “we have some exciting news. Do you remember when we talked about family and how much we love each other?”
Lily nods, her big eyes attentive as she listens.
“Well,” you say, reaching out to take her hand, “you’re going to be a big sister. There’s a baby growing inside Mommy’s belly.”
Her face lights up with surprise, her eyes widening as she looks between the two of you. “A baby?” she whispers, a mixture of awe and excitement in her voice.
“Yes,” Tony says, his hand resting on your shoulder. “You’re going to have a little brother or sister. Someone to play with, someone who’ll look up to you.”
For a moment, Lily’s face glows with joy. But then, her expression shifts, and you see a flicker of uncertainty cross her face. She lowers her gaze, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her shirt.
“Will…will you still love me as much?” she asks, her voice small, a hint of sadness creeping into her tone. “If the new baby is his real baby?”
Your heart clenches at her words, and you feel a pang of understanding. You hadn’t anticipated how this news might make her feel—especially with the bond she’s built with Tony. Gently, you pull her onto your lap, holding her close as Tony kneels beside you, his eyes full of compassion.
“Oh, sweetheart,” you say softly, “we will always love you just the same. Nothing will ever change that. You’re part of this family, and that means you’re loved just as much as anyone else. Always.”
Tony places a hand on her shoulder, his voice low and filled with warmth. “Lily, you’re my daughter, and I love you with all my heart. Nothing in this world could ever make me love you any less. Not this baby, not anything. You’re my first kiddo, and that makes you incredibly special to me.”
She looks up at him, her eyes big and round, a faint glimmer of relief softening her expression.
“Really?” she whispers, her voice trembling just a bit.
“Really,” he replies, his hand moving to cup her face gently. “You’re my daughter, Lily. That will never change. This baby just means we get to love someone else alongside you. It doesn’t change how much we love you. It only means our family is growing, and you’re a big part of that.”
Lily’s face brightens, a shy smile slowly spreading across her lips. “Okay,” she says softly, her voice a little more sure. “I think…I think I’m excited, too. I want to be a big sister.”
Tony pulls her into a tight hug, and you wrap your arms around both of them, feeling the love and warmth of this moment settle into your heart. The three of you sit together, the promise of this new life filling the room with a quiet joy, a sense of unity that only grows stronger with every passing day.
In the coming weeks, you find yourself daydreaming about the future—the laughter and love that will fill your home, the way Tony will hold this new little one with the same tenderness he shows Lily, and how, together, you’re building a family that’s bound by something deeper than words.
And as you look at the man who’s become your husband, your confidant, and now the father of your children, you know that no matter what the future holds, this family is yours, built on love, and here to stay.
Your pregnancy unfolds in a swirl of excitement, adjustments, and the joy of having Tony and Lily at your side through every step. From the moment you tell him, Tony barely lets you lift a finger. He insists on taking over almost every household task, whether it’s cooking, cleaning, or fetching snacks. You only have to mention feeling a little tired, and he’s by your side in an instant, urging you to rest.
“Here, I’ve got it,” he says with a wink as you start to clear plates after dinner one evening. He moves with an air of confidence, quickly picking up the dishes before you can even make it halfway to the sink. “You just sit back and relax. Doctor’s orders.”
You roll your eyes, laughing, but sit down anyway, grateful for his protectiveness. Watching him bustle around the kitchen with his characteristic enthusiasm warms your heart. Tony’s even rearranged his work schedule, making sure he’s home for every doctor’s appointment and ultrasound. His excitement is contagious; he’s like a kid counting down to Christmas, brimming with energy every time you bring home a new baby item or when you finally feel the first kicks.
Lily, meanwhile, has become your little shadow, constantly finding ways to “help” around the house, even if her help sometimes leads to little mishaps. She insists on making you tea every morning, a ritual she takes very seriously. One morning, she even decides to bring it to you in bed, balancing the tray as carefully as she can. Just as she reaches the bedside, a few drops slosh over the rim, but she beams with pride.
“Look, Mommy! I made it all by myself!” she declares, her little chest puffed out.
You smile, cradling the mug she hands you. “It’s perfect, sweetheart. Thank you so much.”
Tony chuckles, ruffling her hair as he says, “Best tea in the house, Lily.”
She beams, thrilled by the praise, and makes a habit of it every morning after that. You can’t help but marvel at her kindness, and even though there are some spills and little accidents along the way, each gesture fills you with gratitude.
As your belly grows and the pregnancy progresses, you go for an ultrasound, the three of you eager to learn the baby’s gender. Tony’s hand is wrapped around yours, his grip firm as the image of your baby appears on the screen. Lily sits on Tony’s lap, her eyes round with wonder as she gazes at the screen.
When the technician announces, “It’s a boy!” Tony’s face lights up with joy, and he laughs, pressing a kiss to your cheek. Lily’s excitement bubbles over as she hugs both of you.
“A little brother!” she exclaims, grinning from ear to ear.
On the drive home, you and Tony decide to let Lily pick out his name. She spends the next few days mulling it over, scribbling ideas on paper, and discussing options with all her stuffed animals. Finally, one evening, she presents her choice proudly.
“I want to name him Leo,” she says, looking at both of you with such confidence that you know she’s thought it through.
Tony smiles, nodding in agreement. “Leo. I like it. Strong name for a strong kid.”
You wrap your arm around her, pulling her close. “Leo it is,” you say, and Lily’s face practically glows with happiness. You couldn’t have chosen a better name yourself.
Months later, the day finally arrives. It’s the middle of the night when the contractions start, and Tony immediately springs into action, calm but focused, gathering your hospital bag and guiding you to the car. His hand never leaves yours, and his voice soothes you, steady and comforting.
“It’s happening,” he whispers with a smile, kissing your forehead as the hospital comes into view. “We’re going to meet our son.”
Hours pass in a blur, and Tony is by your side for every minute, his presence a source of calm as you work through the labor. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, you hear the first cry of your newborn son. The sound fills the room, and your heart swells with a love so fierce it takes your breath away. The nurse places little Leo in your arms, and you marvel at his tiny features, his soft wisps of hair, and the way his eyes open just a sliver as if he’s taking in his new world.
Tony watches you, tears glistening in his eyes, and he leans down, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. “He’s perfect,” he whispers, his voice thick with emotion. “Just like his mom.”
You laugh softly, brushing a tear from his cheek as he leans down to cradle his son in his arms. The way he looks at Leo—with such awe and tenderness—fills you with warmth, knowing that this little boy will have a father who loves him beyond words.
A few hours later, after you’ve had time to rest, Tony returns to the hospital with Lily, who practically bursts into the room, her face shining with excitement. She tiptoes over to the bed, her eyes wide as she gazes at her little brother bundled in your arms.
“Hi, Leo,” she whispers, reaching out to touch his tiny hand with a gentle, reverent awe.
You smile, lifting him slightly so she can see him better. “Would you like to hold him?”
Her eyes go wide with surprise, and she nods, carefully sitting down beside you as Tony helps guide Leo into her arms. She holds him, her small arms wrapped protectively around him, and you can see the absolute adoration in her gaze as she studies his face, her thumb tracing lightly over his tiny fingers.
“Hi, Leo,” she whispers again, her voice soft. “I’m your big sister, Lily.”
Leo stirs, his eyes opening just a fraction, and Lily’s face lights up, as though she’s witnessing something magical. Tony sits beside you, his arm around your shoulders, and together, the two of you watch Lily and Leo, feeling the love that fills the room—a love that has only grown stronger with each addition to your family.
In that moment, as you sit surrounded by the family you’ve built, you know that you have everything you’ve ever wanted. This is your world now: Tony, Lily, and Leo.
