Krel Tarron- Friends

TOA fic (or drabble, whatever you want) about Krel maybe getting some actual bonding time w the gang (esp. jlaire) post-wizards? Or the Trollhunting trio just vibing w video games or smth? (No pressure :) @cassie-cain-wayne

A/N: Thank you for being so patient with me! 

Krel watched the kids walking around school in packs, as if they were wolves. The weakest were left behind or killed and outsiders would certainly befall a worse fate. Maybe they were wolves. He surely felt like an outsider.

Since Aja left, the summer had moved slowly even with the wizard interrupting the repair work he’d needed done on one of the Blanks. It had been a reprieve from the boredom but he hadn’t felt any closer to the oddballs of Arcadia even though they seemed to band together.

Eli tried even if Krel couldn’t help but roll his eyes at the boy every ten seconds. There was something about his mannerisms that Krel couldn’t handle. They were all so terribly...organic. He supposed it was hard to befriend someone so bland, he’d never felt he had much to offer.

The Domzalski boy seemed to find something interesting in him but Jim was back home, having been cured from being part troll. Matter of the fact was, if Krel wasn’t needed to help save anyone or make a new game for the bored teens, he wasn’t called upon. 

Steve, ugh gag, checked in but only with questions of Aja. Krel adored Aja as everyone else did. She was a warrior yet empathetic beyond many beings- human or otherwise- capability. She was proud to be herself no matter what and you couldn’t help but be drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Or like Luug to the cookies Lucy Blank made each and every evening. 

Yes, he did adore his sister but he had also lived in her shadow and grown wary beyond his age from her mistakes back on Akiridion-5. Krel couldn’t blame her but he had never had the sense of freedom she had grabbed hold of and claimed was her right. 

He was too complacent even before coming to Earth and now he understood it was because he needed to be needed. And it seemed more often than not, he wasn’t needed. 

Sighing, he placed his headphones over his ears, tapped his foot to the lively beat, and worried no more.

“Hey buttsnack, can’t leave your girlfriend’s side? My girlfriend is a total ninja-kicking angel and-” Steve rambled on and no one, save for Eli, was listening. Claire rolled her eyes and cracked a smile when Jim looked down at her and did the same. 

“I’m siding with Steve on this one Jimbo, help me find Arrgh more socks,” Toby chimed in and there was a grateful, deep, hum from the large troll that had crowded into Nancy Domzalski’s home along with Blinky who was sat beside Claire once Jim finally got up with a sigh and a fond grin. 

Everyone was enjoying the music, the snacks, the company when suddenly Nana hollered, “Oh Toby-Pie!” in a pitched tone that made the newest cat in the house want to run towards Arrgh despite the consequences. 

“NANA,” Toby groaned, embarrassed as always when she called him that. He was a soldier, a wicked sidekick (he thought he was quite the hero but he’d have to run it by Jim). “Not around my friends” He pleaded as he went to see her in the kitchen. 

Their voices were quiet outside of some murmurs that couldn’t be made out over Eli’s laughter that played like a broken record at all of Steve’s spent and silly jokes. Jim had gone back to sitting with Claire and both had taken to throwing popcorn at Steve, wondering how many their could get caught in his hair before he noticed. So far they’d each gotten three. 

Toby emerged from the kitchen with a sheepish look and turned the music down. “Nana is bringing over her b-boyfriend. You guys cool if Krel comes too?” Toby had to stop himself from gagging over the words but perked up at the thought of his friend.

Everyone took on a similar expression of barely hidden guilt except for Steve who was pounding on Nana’s piano, singing of the blue love of his life. Everyone liked Krel, it just hadn’t occured to them that something was missing, the he was missing. 

“Of course!” Claire interjected, hoping the enthusiasm would make up for the heavy silence that had only lasted a short few seconds but seemed to linger in the air. “I have to ask him if he can help tutor me for my next math test,”

The call came as Krel was drifting in and out of sleep, some laid back music pressed tight against his ears so that he could shut out the sound of Ricky vacuuming and Luug trying to eat the machine. Suddenly, his phone was vibrating in his pocket and he nearly dropped the portable tech once he saw his friend’s face on the screen. 

“I can’t help you hack into NASA Eli until you give me a good reason,” He immediately replied but his hello to the Pepperjack was drowned out by a chorus of ‘hellos’ and ‘did he pick up?’. 

“Krel! Come to Toby’s, we’re gonna watch the movie we made now that we’ve gotten all the footage back,” Eli croaked through the speaker and Krel grinned. Finally! He was invited to be somewhere! And better yet he could shine through the movie! Call him vain but Krel had lived too long in a shadow to not delight in the spotlight sometimes. 

“Be right over!” Krel beamed, shouting a goodbye to the Blanks before running to Toby’s. 

Krel could feel lost, Krel could feel lonely, but right now he was only feeling grateful. When everyone smiled and welcomed him in with open arms he knew he had made the right decision in calling Earth his home.

Rewatching Trollhunters season 3 while waiting for Wizards 😍

Here we go, last season... not sure if I'm ready to rewatch this 😱

Thinking about it, so much needs to happen here! How did they put everything within 13 episodes without making it look rushed?? This show is WOW

After this thinking that Blinky apparently is not with Jim in Wizards and is probably worried sick breaks my Trollhunters shaped heart 😭😭

Bless Anton Yelchin for his phenomenal work on this show

I love the way they handled the change between his voice and Emile Hirsch in the episode with the Gravesand. I ADORE when a change of voice actor is handled in a smart, thoughtful way 👌

Bad Coffee is one amazing episode, it hit me as a filler at first, then slowly became just another meaningful character development point. A very big one, between Steve and Coach Lawrence's bond, Mrs. Janeth viewpoint about teaching (I think her confidence got better, another reason why I believe she took position with Senor Uhl in the Krel vs Seamus situation in 3Below), Strickler still loving Barbara. Like, secondary characters get such a development it's magic 💪💪

I didn't notice at first 😂 A fanfiction would be great to show the moment Steve gave it to him. Did he craft it himself? That would be even better! 💕

Reason number 138 why I can't wait to see Morgana again in Wizards: Morgana possessing Claire is kind of hilarious really, I wanna see how she is... or she was? Still not exactly sure how it will play out 🤔

Also she seems so proud of her "I have many names" 😂

Forgot to mention NotEnrique, freaking, he's got such a development since the beginning and he is so lovable!!! 💚💚💚

The parents finding out and being supportive, absolutely amazing. I genuinely can't name another show with something like this, it's usually all about staying in the dark until the very end. Barbara is an MVP in this episode, and in general 💪💪

Also I appreciate how much is evident that Jim did train a lot, like he never could have done some of the moves he is pulling this season, and sometimes he is even without amulet. Proud 😍

And after seeing him die again I am on such a high level of not ready to see Draal again in Wizards I don't know what do to with myself, Seklos and Gaylen HELP ME 😱😱

Now that I rewatch it, in general Merlin doesn't bother me... at first. BUT, I hated how he kept dissing Blinky and Strickler 😡

Just by this you know this woman will end up dating a deadly general 😂

I've decided to give a personal rewatch of 3Below without making a post... mostly because I rewatched it too much on my own 😅 Also I think I don't have many interesting thoughts besides KREL YOU BEAUTIFUL BABY ILY 💙💙💙

Speaking of, another thing I love about this show is that you think you know a character, then you actually see their point of view and BOOM, everything changes

We saw Krel from the Trollhunters' point of view and without shame I thought he was super annoying... now if anything happens to him in Wizards I'll kill everyone in this room and then myself 🙂

This consideration actually makes me curious about Douxie, because yes it bothers me a bit that he seems to be flirting with Claire, but I know that he will be one HECK of a character judging from @tenyai's beautiful arts 😍 So definitely looking forward to that

Mm, I noticed that In Good Hands does show similarities between Aja and Krel and Merlin: they are all very unusual, kinda sounds like they know better (more for Krel and Merlin at least) and definitely seems like they haven't been out much. Besides this kinda forshadowing that the Tarrons are not from this planet, it also makes me wonder what we will find out about Merlin since Wizards is a time travel

He is also... kind of coherent? He doesn't really lie about what he wants and what he thinks it's right. He justifies what he is sure needs to be done by the "centuries" he went through, and feels like he is above everyone. That is something very clear

I'm not saying Merlin is not a jerk. HE IS. AND HE IS SO ANNOYING LIKE HE IS ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT GUILT OR SORROW FOR POOR JIM

This is not a justification for what he did to Jim and how he did it, this is merely what I think might be his point of view. But I do like his character a lot. And I'm looking forward to what exactly turned him into the man he is now. Maybe to see the pure heart he said to have had once?

Man the transformation scene is breathtaking. The ultimate act of Jim the best boy, everything in order to protect the one he loves 😭😭😭

THE SUPPORT JIM GETS FROM HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY, I LOVE THIS SHOW SO FREAKING MUCH 👌👌👌

Kind of hilarious that while all this mess happens, there are two extraterrestrial children running away from dictatorship and trying not to get Earth destroyed by an evil general. Poor Arcadia 😅

The story of this show is so good sometimes I forget the animation is AWESOME SAUCE 😍😍😍😍

If you're asking yes, I did cheer when Morgana was beating the crap out of Merlin, sue me 🤷‍♀️

It feels weird rewatching the finale of Trollhunters knowing that in two days Wizards will make this amazing story continue. I know 3Below did continue it already, but we'll see the original trio again!! Doing stuff!! STUFF!! 🤩🤩🤩

Alas, the rewatch is over. I'll forever be sorry for those who haven't watched this amazing show, because it really is wonderful 👌

So... here we go towards our final part of the trilogy, the videogame in September, and the surprises coming after. I feel like we're not at the end after all 😅

“Yeah,” Hisirdoux says, smiling a little at the thought of how Archie would respond to being referred to that way.

“Be careful he doesn’t get out tonight, y’know? People can get especially weird about black cats on Halloween. I mean, it’s not like there aren’t weirder things in town, but, you never know.”

He and Archie had survived the witch trials, so he had a feeling they could handle anything the residents of Arcadia threw at them. “I’ll make sure to keep him with me,” he says, as he would, technically, do just that on patrol.

“Good kid. Hey, do you ever get him to wear any Halloween costumes, or is it just the glasses?”’

So all of your posts about Tales of Arcadia made me want to watch the show, so wanted to ask if you'd recommend it? I tend to be a bit unsure with starting new shows (I already kind of know what your answer is gonna be, but I'm more curious in what you'd have to say about it)

HELLO ANON, I APOLOGISE FOR THE EXTREMELY LATE RESPONSE TO YOUR ASK AND I HOPE YOU'RE STILL HANGING AROUND SO YOU CAN SEE IT!

Short answer: yes, absolutely, I highly recommend Tales Of Arcadia!

Long answer bc you said you're interested in what I have to say: Tales of Arcadia, all three installments, is an amazing franchise. The plots are solid, the characters are complex, the character development is consistent and compelling, and it has one of the best grasps of continuity and consequence that I've seen in basically anything. Along with all of that, the visuals are stunning. Also, on a note of purely personal preference, they blended fantasy and sci-fi in the same setting and that is something which I love a lot and think there is never enough of. We've got magic and aliens! That's a great combination!

For a quick synopsis of what to expect, trying to ensure I spoil as little as possible, Tales of Arcadia currently has three installments - Trollhunters, 3Below, and Wizards. They're all set in the town of Arcadia Oaks in California and each show follows a different aspect of the otherworldly things going on there, while maintaining on-going worldbuilding and, at a few points, interconnected plotlines.

Trollhunters follows the adventures of Jim Lake Jr, an average teenager who finds a magic amulet and becomes its next chosen wielder, thus inheriting the mantle of Trollhunter. We follow him and his friends as they discover the hidden world of Trolls beneath their town, who Jim is now charged with protecting. On the surface, it seems like a pretty typical Chosen One storyline, but where Trollhunters differs, imo, is that it does not at all shy away from, and actually explores, a lot of the things that Chosen One Teenager narratives usually don't acknowledge, like how the duties of being the Trollhunter affect Jim's ability to keep up with his "normal" life and how keeping such a secret impacts his relationships with those not in the know. Even if the rest of the ToA franchise didn't exist, I would highly, highly, highly recommend Trollhunters!

3Below, the second series in Tales of Arcadia, pulls us away from the magical world of trolls to a sci-fi world of aliens, still within the same setting of Arcadia Oaks! This show follows siblings Aja and Krel Tarron, royals from the planet Akiridion-5, who were forced to flee and live in hiding on Earth, under the care of Commander Varvatos Vex, when General Val Morando performed a military coup and took control of their planet, gravely injuring their parents in the process. Aja and Krel are actually first introduced in Season 3 of Trollhunters and Season 1 of this show runs concurrently with Trollhunters Season 3, with one of the episodes showing us Aja and Krel's perspective on what was happening in their introductory episode! The integration of aliens into the existing fantasy world of Trollhunters is done masterfully and Aja and Krel are just as compelling protagonists as Jim! Their sibling dynamic is a delight to watch and, again, excellent plot, continuity, and character development!

Wizards is the latest installment, picking up right where 3Below leaves off. Our protagonist this time is Hisirdoux "Douxie" Casperan, a wizard apprentice who, much like Aja and Krel, was initially introduced in Trollhunters S3. The plot this time is that our heroes are now trying to stop the efforts of an order of evil ancient magic users who are trying to end the world. Also, there's time travel and seeing how events in not only Wizards but some from Trollhunters started! I'm saying the least about this one not because I have less to say but because saying all I want to say about Wizards would require not only possibly spoiling the show itself but also its predecessors! I will say that Douxie is every bit the compelling protagonist that Jim, Aja and Krel are! And it's very impressive on the part of the writers that they were able to give him just as compelling a story and character arc as the other three, given Jim had three seasons, Aja & Krel had two, and Douxie got one ten episode season!

So, yeah! That's what I have to say about Tales of Arcadia! I highly recommend you watch it because it's fantastic but also I would recommend you have tissues to hand because this franchise can get heartwrenching at times

Professors Tarron and Johnson

After grad school and everything, Seamus goes on to become a professor at the same college he and Krel and everyone went to. Krel drops into class on such a regular basis that the students pretty much regard them as co-professors. At some point, the deans or whatever realise this and sort of offer Krel a position because students seem to like him. Seamus thinks it’s a great idea and that’s how Krel gets coerced into being Professor Tarron.

Krel is the cool professor who doesn’t ever want to be called professor (because Aja made fun of him for it) and tries for a solid three semesters to get his students to exclusively call him DJ Kleb. Seamus is fine being called by first name, but he’ll introduce himself and Krel as “Professors Johnson and Tarron” at the beginning of the semester. Almost always, the two co-teach lecture and then split up lab, except the one not in charge of lab always shows up anyway.

Their students love them, even if tests can occasionally be murder. Class and lab are full of super awesome experiments. Krel shows up some days with something random he invented the night before with the help of either alcohol or caffeine. He’ll take over the class and throw the syllabus to the wind to get his students to help him figure out what, exactly, he invented and how, exactly, he invented it. Some love it. Some hate it because they did the reading which is now out the window. Usually Seamus is very frustrated at first because he “had a plan for today’s lesson, we only have six weeks left in the semester”, but then he just gets super into it too and makes sure it becomes a teaching moment and nothing blows up. Students learn quickly that if you like explosions, you take lab with Krel, and if you’d rather play it safe, you take lab with Seamus.

Sometimes students also bring in things like this, although they usually try not to mention exactly what substance they were on when they created it, except for one student who walks in and shamelessly declares that that weekend she was “super fuckin’ high” and she thinks she mad something awesome but has no idea what it is, and the class spends the entire period reverse-engineering whatever it is only to find out it’s actually just a really, really weird hair-dryer. She gets extra credit just because Krel and Seamus are nostalgic and have, obviously, done the same thing multiple times in school. Unfortunately, this triggers a wave of students trying to replicate it by sleep deprivation or drugs or alcohol, which turns out some really cool class projects, but is banned after one kid passes out in the middle of class. Krel and Seamus either take back all the extra credit or just give everyone equal extra credit.

Students always find out about the Akiridion sci-fi site where all the theories about Krel and Seamus ended up, and they use it both as a forum to keep up with each other and also to speculate about their professors. Graduated seniors and anyone in the know help to make sure there’s no way to prove their favourite professors are (both?) aliens, and Krel and Seamus go through to check as well.

They give all their graduating seniors gifts, whether they were in one of their classes this year or freshman year or never but got stuck with one of them as a major advisor. If the kids were good, trustworthy kids, which most of them are, they get sworn to secrecy and get to find out that, yes, Krel’s actually from space. It’s impossible to convince them Seamus isn’t, but it amuses the two professors enough that they let it go.

They do teach a special senior seminar course that focuses on Akiridion technology, but it’s permission only and you pretty much can only get in if you’re a dedicated student of the Tarron-Johnson duo. Not to mention that the course description is misleading enough that only those students want to take it. The first day of this class is largely introducing the students to the fact that extra-terrestrials are real and that their tech is way better than Earth’s. They usually take a vote to see which of them the students think is the Akiridion, and usually the winning vote is both of them. Krel doesn’t reveal himself until the end of class so they can get through the syllabus and everything, because otherwise the class would never calm down.

The Akiridion Tech class takes two annual fields trips. One is to Akiridion-5, of course, where they get a special tour and the chance to work in what was Krel’s lab when he lived there. Aja begins looking forward to these trips because, ironically, it's one of her easiest days as Akiridion-5 Ruler. The students are always excited to meet her and the citizens are respectful and peaceful on those days. The other trip is to a planet of their choosing, which is disguised as an assignment where the class as a whole is given a bunch of data and has to determine which planets are habitable and pick one to visit. They almost always go, even if it’s not particularly habitable, just because Krel and Seamus can usually rig up safety suits. They also have a day where they study transduction technology. It’s Krel’s least favourite lesson because the students get to experiment with it on the only Akiridion available, AKA him, and so he ends up looking all sorts of crazy. Yes. Pictures get taken.

One year, after the field trip, one kid doesn’t listen and ends up accidentally bringing a skelteg back to Earth, which of course goes nuts in class. Professor Tarron goes around blasting music until they all explode. When the students find out he made the music, they go nuts. Someone finds all of his demos and shares them in the class group chat. There’s a petition for Professor Tarron’s music to be broadcasted in the dining hall. Krel signed the petition, of course. A few students form a DJ/music club and ask him to be the faculty contact for it, and of course he's thrilled and gets super into it. Really, he and Seamus go to as many of their students’ events as possible.

Some of the more internet savvy students compare them to vines on YouTube and through brief discussion decide that these trips are very Magic School Bus esque. Someone makes the mistake of bringing this up in class and introducing Krel to Magic School Bus, which is something Seamus was very specifically avoiding. All of the classes start having a lot more fun field trips after that, much to Seamus’s frustration and secret amusement. The trips very much cater to and play on the Magic School Bus jokes. One student gets them a pet lizard. It becomes the class pet. Krel takes to it immediately. Seamus gives up.

Krel won’t always focus in lecture, and he has a habit of stopping mid-sentence and leaving the room, at which Seamus just sighs and picks up where Krel left off until the Akiridion comes back with some bizarre piece of tech. He’ll wait for Seamus to finish before explaining the jump in his thought process and how it relates to his tech. Seamus has done it once or twice himself, but he usually finishes talking before adding. They’ll also completely baffle the students by stopping mid-lesson to discuss how, “Wait, didn’t we disprove this once?” or “According to Akiridion science, isn’t this wrong?” or “Well, if we did this instead I bet we could prove this wrong.” No one ever understands what they’re talking about in those instances.

Professor Johnson is the only one to have office hours (and grade stuff, usually), but if you can’t make it, you can probably find Krel somewhere on campus and ask questions. He can always answer, even if it’s about a comment Seamus made on an essay Krel didn’t grade. Half the students are convinced they have some sort of telepathy device because they can pick up each other’s thoughts mid-sentence, sometimes even when they weren’t in the room. Sometimes one of them just moves to go sit down and starts researching something on the computer while the other takes up the rest of the lesson, knowing full well that they'd had the same idea at the same time.

They tell new students the first day to “forget everything you’ve learned in any physics class not taught by one of us.” They, in fact, have a class (PHYS 351 with Lab) called “Physics is a Social Construct”. All their classes always start with a syllabus, but by the second week, Krel (and it’s always Krel) is like, “Alright, so due to unexpected circumstances, and by that I mean Seamus and I disproved three of these theories last night, we’re throwing away the syllabus!” There are days when the students are so stuffed up with questions and confusion as to what their Professors are doing that an entire class will be spent just answering their questions. Some of the students already understand some things thanks to Akiridion Science Fiction and just laugh at the younger students' questions, but then find themselves asking questions too. Questions range from “Why did Professor Tarron vanish for a week?” to “What the hell is that thing on the desk?” to “What about the syllabus?” and finally, the most common one, “But that’s not possible!” PHYS 351’s final project is to break one of the laws of physics. The Tarron-Johnson duo’s motto is that everything is possible.

Krel, surprisingly, is really bad at lab safety, in that he doesn’t do it at all. He’ll get sucked in and forget things. Seamus has to remind them all the time, things like, “Krel, please put your hair up, you’re going to catch it on fire again” or “Krel, please wear goggles, we don’t want a repeat of the junior year fiasco.” If Seamus shows up alone and starts class with, “Let’s go over lab safety”, then you know Krel did something stupid. Some days Krel will have to tell Seamus, “Do not tell them why I’m not there”, and Seamus tells them because it’s usually something really stupid, including the time he fell off a ladder.

Sometimes they bring guest speakers to class. Akiridion Tech gets the best guests, scientists from across the galaxy and usually the Queen of Akiridion-5 at least once, but even other classes get cool Earth scientists and occasionally extra-terrestrials in disguise. Apparently, Professor Tarron is good friends with a high-up military general that runs the mysterious Area 49b, so he usually visits too, and sometimes Akiridion Tech even gets a tour of the military base. Students who don’t get a tour beg for one, and Krel, certified disaster even as an adult, tells them that “it’s not that hard to break into there anyways” and that he knows someone who did it at least twice. Professor Johnson is not pleased to hear about this when he discovers students plotting to break in. General Costas is even less happy, and every semester he drags anywhere from two students to the entire class to Krel and Seamus’s house in the middle of the night after they tried to break into Area 49b. Yes, this fuels the debate about whether they’re married. No, no one is sure. Krel secretly gives them extra credit by claiming it tests their capacity to plan and also, it helps test the security of the base. Neither Costas nor Seamus like this answer.

Seamus pretty much stays in the physics and engineering departments, but Krel actually ends up branching out. He stays involved in theatre, of course, and ends up teaching a class about sci-fi theatre in which he only teaches one play from Earth, if that many, and at least two are from Akiridion-5. The others come from random planets with plays Krel likes.

Krel is also in the habit of just… walking into other classes whenever he feels like it to see what’s happening or if it’s interesting. Students not aware of Professors Tarron and Johnson assume he’s maybe an older student or a grad student or something. He almost always goes to classes that talk about space and sci-fi. The special creative writing class about writing sci-fi is something he has to see, and the professor actually thinks he’s a student who isn’t on the list because of add/drop/swap and Krel, while finding it hilarious, has to explain that, no, he’s from the physics department, he specialises in astroengineering and cool stuff like that.

They also get super into things like holidays and spirit week, and will always go all out for any costumes. They’ll set up holiday-themed projects for extra credit. Students are challenged to relate their Halloween costumes to class (so they get a lot of superheroes) and they usually reserve the unit on holograms for February to allow the students to make hologram Valentine’s cards. They try to be as inclusive as possible, and research different holidays and make sure they know what their students celebrate, especially come winter time when so many holidays come up.

TL;DR: Seamus and Krel are the best professors for so many reasons and nobody knows if they’re married or not. That’s up to you and what you ship.

Across the Stars

First fanfic of 2019!

This is the part where I’d try to crack some joke about adopting a ship really quickly or something, except it’s a sapphic ship and honestly we all probably knew this was coming, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, it’s Zarda/Izita (“Zardita” - I didn’t make this ship name but I can’t seem to find the original post where I saw it).  *Izita is the rebel who helped Zarda on Akiridion-5, for reference.

Also, I have the headcanon that Izita is an Akiridion doctor because she was trying to heal Zarda when they first met.  Well that and I have a thing for strong fighters/doctor ships apparently don’t judge me

(EDIT: 1/14/19: this post mispells Zadra’s name by putting the ‘r’ in the wrong place (it’s Zadra instead of Zarda), I will correct this in all future writing).

“What’s it like?  Where you are?”

The real question is, what’s it like on Earth?  What are the people like?  The way the sky is different, and the cities?

They both know Morando already tracked the royal siblings to the planet.  The presence of the Zeron Brotherhood and other bounty hunters already proved that.  Still, they keep their conversations without too many specific details so fewer others can do the same.  Morando is the greatest enemy to House Tarron, but Akiridion-5 is a wealthy planet with numerous technological advancements others can only dream of.  Zarda considers it likely others may try to come after Aja and Krel if they feel there is opportunity in the weakness of their current situation.

Of course, then they’d have to face Zarda, and her wrath.  But those potential enemies likely didn’t know that.

“My apologies.”  Izita winces from the other side of the video screen.  “You shouldn’t answer that question.  I shouldn’t have asked.”

“Don’t.”  Zarda hastily stops her from continuing.  “Apologize, that is.  Your curiosity is commendable, Iz—”  She stops herself from finishing the name.  Whereas she herself is a recognizable, public figure, Izita is not.  If someone is listening in and she reveals Izita’s name, that could spell out danger for her courageous rebel.

Something they’ve so far managed to avoid by being careful with their topics, and the use of an image scrambler, courtesy of Krel, that crafts them false appearances.

It’s hard sometimes.  Zarda fears she’s growing too used to seeing fake faces when she talks to Izita.  She barely got time to know the true face of her courageous rebel while they were together on Akiridion-5.  What if she doesn’t recognize her if—when—they meet again?

“I…it’s odd here,” Zarda eventually says.  “Nothing like home.  I wish I could tell you more.”  She blushes and hopes the image scrambler doesn’t translate that action (knowing Krel, it probably does).  “I wish you could see it.  One of the children’s friend’s…”  She pauses, trying to figure out how to say, one of Aja and Krel’s friends has a parent in the Earth medical field.  She showed me around her workplace when I showed curiosity on the subject.  I think you’d be interested in it, without revealing Izita was a physician officially (outside of the Resistance) on Akiridion-5.

Izita seems to pick up her distress, and so offers a small smile and the statement, “There must be so many fascinating things there.  I…” Now it’s her turn to frown and go off into her head and try and figure out how to speak.

Zarda takes the opportunity to check on their transmission transfer progress; the real reason they can communicate really.  They figured out how to create a set of devices that can send encrypted messages between their two planets.  All they have to do is keep the link active long enough for Izita’s updates on how things on Akiridion-5 are to make it through to Zarda.

They don’t necessarily have to talk to each other during that time, but neither of them has brought that up yet (as both of them enjoy the opportunity to at least have a little contact with the other).

“The transfer is almost complete,” Zarda tells Izita.  “I should…”

“Yes, of course.”  Izita interrupts hastily.  She sighs, but quickly hides the expression behind a more neutral one.  Izita looks to Zarda again.  She starts, “Until next time,”

“May the Resistance stay strong,” Zarda finishes.

Today is my birthday! 🥳🥳🥳 DJ Kleb put on some music, let's celebrate!! 😎

Been another year, so let me take out my imaginary book of fairy tales and let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, an Italian fangirl discovered the Tales of Arcadia world 😍

So I can admit, I started to watch the show very late, even if I knew about it for a long while: that's because the screenwriters of my beloved Ninjago, Dan and Kevin Hageman, had announced they were going to work on this. I thought that it could be worth it just by that, but never really got interested. Besides, I didn't even have Netflix at the time, so eh 🤷‍♀️

Fast forward time, it was a month before the release of 3Below when me and my friend decide to share to get Netflix. And I remembered about the show, Trollhunters, and I decided to give it a look.

And I guess I kinda-

I DEVOURED IT, REGRETTING ALL THE TIME LOST NOT WATCHING IT 😢

There was just something really special in all of this, from this very standard yet pure protagonist, this smart love interest, a best friend that was actually and always supporting his best bud (how I loved Toby 🧡). Then the trolls, the bonds between the characters, the plot, the villains, the feelings behind and 🤯

After I discovered it was going to be a trilogy, I got super excited but scared as well: new characters, what about Jim and the others? Will I ever love others like I loved the Trollhunters team?

If you know me enough and the way I fangirl about beautiful baby boy Krel, you know the answer is yes 💙💙💙 3Below got me good, the best sequel for Trollhunters with the complexity of the characters, more beautiful bonds and a new thrilling atmosphere. Also that's how I met my OTP Kreamus 💜

And now, we are waiting for Wizards that will probably kill us all 😅 So thrilled and hyped for it, HECK YEAH 💕💕💕

All of this to say that I'm really happy to be part of this fandom, full of talented and wonderful people I'm glad I met!! 😊

More College Krel (and Seamus!)

Hey! Remember my college Krel headcanons? Well, me and @lizzylucky started talking about Krel and Seamus in college and we decided we have to share so… under the cut!

First of all, obviously, at some point Krel and Seamus compete with each other to see who can stay awake the longest. Seamus is sure he’ll win because he’s seen Krel pass out in, like, the bushes or a bookshelf after an all-nighter or two. Krel is sure he’ll win because he’s seen Seamus sleep in class, like, all the time. Krel does win, but he also drinks enough energy drinks and, like, doesn’t sleep long enough that he gets hospitalised. Steve threatens to tell Aja and Seamus’s mom if they do it again, which is by far enough to get them to not do it again.

They do a lot of proving the professors wrong. It’s usually Krel’s idea and usually involves alcohol and/or energy drinks and enough spite to kill a man point blank.

No one’s sure if they sleep. Sometimes, you’ll see Krel and/or Seamus walking by outside the window then passing back by in like thirty minutes with a bunch of random stuff they may or may not have gotten from one of the labs. It’ll be 3 in the morning and you’ll be walking to get pizza or something and you’ll pass Krel and Seamus with three armfuls of something like plastic tubing, or, on one memorable occasion, probably a hundred mechanical pencils. You probably exchange a mutual nod of “none of us should be up at this hour” and continue on your way. Yes, you noticed Krel had four arms. No, you’re not going to ask.

Krel’s sister comes to visit a few times – football star Steve Palchuk’s girlfriend – and you’re pretty sure she had a sword or something. And her dog might be purple.

Krel begrudgingly goes to Steve’s football games, because they’re friends, and Seamus inevitably follows. They end up tinkering with a device that may or may not be a bomb and disappearing for the rest of the weekend.

One time, first semester, there’s a mysterious BOOM! from their dorm room, and then no one sees them for a week. Rumours go around that they finally went and blew themselves up and the university’s covering it up, but then they show up to Intro to Physics with proof that alternate universes do exist. This is not uncommon. Rumour has it they did an entire semester’s worth of homework in a week so they’d have more free time. No one doubts it. They almost never miss class, but they do tend to be late and bring a bunch of nonsensical items with them so they can, as usual, build something borderline or genuinely impossible to prove a professor wrong.

They have most of their classes together and no one understands how they have such good enrolment times. Some say they hacked the system. Others say they bribed all the physics professors with cool tech. No one knows.

Krel is in student theatre, of course, and he’s in every play be it acting or working lights and sound. No one knows how he manages it since he’s always building something or being dragged somewhere by Seamus and/or Steve. Seamus shows up to all of Krel’s plays, and sometimes helps with tech. The theatre department loves them because their tech needed and update and they went all out. Krel could probably have set up a completely automated system for all things tech, but he thought it was important to get others involved so he didn’t.

At one point they do a sci-fi play, and Krel hooks them up with Akiridion tech on the condition they don’t ask about it and don’t tell anyone who gave it to them. Obviously, free sci-fi tech is awesome so they go for it. Everyone involved in student theatre is convinced he’s an alien until someone goes, “What if Seamus is the alien and Krel’s just covering for him?” at which point it becomes a betting pool and debate at cast/crew parties. Krel and Seamus think it’s hilarious and do their best to prove both theories right at the same time. People who aren’t in theatre but have friends who are tend to be wary of the Tarron-Johnson duo because of the rumour mill about the alien debates and also hearing about how well they acted out this death scene, it’s like they’d experienced it in real life.

If you look at their notebooks in class, they’re writing in Akiridion and they’re almost never writing notes. Any other person just thinks they made up a language. Eventually, people overhear them talking about Akiridion-5, which vaguely reminds someone about a website some Arcadian kid made about “Akiridion Science Fiction” or something. Theatre kids joke Akiridion must be where Krel and/or Seamus is from. Other people think it’s some weird Arcadia Oaks club.

Anyone dedicated enough - including lots of theatre kids and one junior physics major who wants to make aliens her honours thesis - interview (read: interrogate) everyone they can find from Arcadia Oaks. Steve Palchuk refuses to talk, but given how close he seems to both of them this is unsurprising. Jim Lake - another possible cryptid, some say they'd seen him turn tall and blue so there's rumours he's the same type of alien as Krel - also doesn't say much, nor does his girlfriend, who's one of the few people in theatre who isn't super invested in this whole thing (she knows, she must know, that's why). One person tells them Seamus and Krel used to hate each other. No one believes that person.

After a couple years, incoming freshman are greeted with confusion in every club and class and group they join. There's constantly intense talk about these two kids who may or may not have been aliens that travelled through different dimensions, visited both the past and the future, supposedly went to another planet every other week, wrote in a made-up language, used nonsense words, and were somehow involved in the theatre department's rise to popularity as a completely advanced experience the year before. Krel and Seamus don't do anything about it because half the school thinks it's a hoax and none of the students who don't are being taken seriously anywhere.

After they graduate, they still volunteer with the school a bunch so eventually it goes from "students might be aliens" to "those grad TAs might be aliens" to eventually "Professor Johnson is probably an alien and so is his best friend (husband? no one knows? unclear?) who's here more often than not.”

(No one ever puts together that Seamus Johnson might be a wizard, which is probably for the best.)
